Interruptions and situation awareness recovery are important issues in many task domains. Here, we explore the extent to which cognitive design principles for situation awareness recovery that were developed in the air warfare domain can be applied to team mission execution. We developed a tool, called team-CHEX, for presenting and managing messages and for helping users recover situation awareness following interruptions. We report two experiments that compared team-CHEX with two commonly employed mission execution recovery tools – chat and shared whiteboards. The results of the first experiment were used to refine specific interface features of team-CHEX. The final tool was superior to common chat designs and equal to, and in some respects superior to, common whiteboard designs. The revised and extended interruption recovery principles should be useful for the design of both monitoring tasks, such as air warfare, and team collaboration tasks, such as mission execution.

Fruit plays an important role in tropical horticulture and has high commercial value in domestic and international markets. There are several factors affecting the quality of fruit in the supply chain, including type of fruit, storage, distribution, harvesting, and packaging. This research was conducted to analyze the current situation regarding quality assurance in the international supply chain of tropical fruits by developing a tool to assess the level of quality assurance and chain collaboration. A techno-managerial approach was used in this research; therefore, a three-axes model was developed as the techno-managerial model. The three axes consist of degree of quality assurance, classes of fruit (regarding risk of chemical residue and quality deterioration), and degree of chain collaboration. For this study, five situations were chosen at random by considering the different degrees (from lowest degree to highest degree) of quality assurance and chain collaboration for each class of fruit. The results show that 10%–60% of importers require their suppliers to comply with quality assurance standards in Situation 1 (low-risk fruits, low degree of quality assurance, and low degree of chain collaboration) and Situation 2 (medium-risk fruits, low degree of quality assurance, and low degree of chain collaboration). Almost 100% of imported fruits have permeable peels which are removed before consumption. This group of fruit has medium-high perishable rate. With different types of fruits, the importers set different requirements with respect to quality assurance. Regarding chain participation, the most common situation is Situation 1 (more than 60%), in which the retailer has the biggest influence. The most common situation for suppliers who supply the product to import companies falls into Situation 2. This means that most of the commodities have permeable peels, so the suppliers follow the basic quality assurance standards and are at the low level in chain co-operation. Lastly, considering the usefulness of the model, it can be employed as a good tool in assessing the situation in practice.

Responding to the invitation to write an article about the decisions affecting my career shift to applied anthropology, about establishing rapport with co-workers who were not ethnic peers, and about employment in polyethnic situations was a daunting task. In tracing my career trejectory. I have highlighted the instances which, in retrospect, seemed most significant; regrettably, I had no field journals to substantiate my reflections. As in any career, success and chance played a part. Beyond that, the harsh realities of reservation life, even on a relatively prosperous reservation, forced me to reevaluate my potential contributions as an anthropologist. Because I was immersed in reservation life and was a tribal employee, my situation was complex and not characteristic of many applied or field research situations.

Abstract Navigational Safety in maritime operations is a high priority issue. In a recent collaboration between IHPC and SP, an AI-based Behaviour Competency Assessment Tool prototype was developed to aid instructors in assessing soft-skill competencies of watchkeepers conducting navigation, and a proof-of-concept demonstration was performed for Situational Awareness at SP’s Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) training simulator. Use of our tool can help remove human bias by providing detailed behaviour-specific analysis to aid instructors in making their assessments.

PurposeThis paper aims to design a collaborative model amongst faculty and librarian to support teaching and research congruent with the Vietnamese context.Design/methodology/approachThe mix-method research is used in three stages to (1) study the situation and problems of faculty-librarian collaboration by using semi-structured interviews with 29 participants, (2) survey factors influencing the collaboration from 455 samples, (3) evaluate and arrange the influence level of factors from 18 experts' perspectives.FindingsThe research results show that in order to enhance the quality and gain goals of the collaboration, it is necessary to meet three elements, in which universities must (1) meet essential conditions and factors, (2) identify collaborative objectives and activities, collaborative process/guidelines, and evaluating collaboration; and (3) clarify the participation and support of stakeholders to achieve common outcomes.Research limitations/implicationsThis study carried out with representatives for key informant group at four universities in Vietnam, thus, the research results could not cover all current situation of the faculty–librarian collaboration at universities.Originality/valueThis paper provides the detail picture of faculty–librarian collaboration practices and factors having influence this activity at Vietnamese universities. Then, the findings help administrators, faculty and librarians understand and deploy a reasonable plan in accordance with the university's features to enhance the effectiveness and success of the faculty–librarian collaboration.

The dynamic formation of a consortium, combining the most adequate set of competencies and resources to satisfy the needs of each new situation sounds indeed as a very appealing approach. However, reaching a rapid ‘alignment' among a diverse group of heterogeneous entities is not simple and may require a considerable time to achieve. In this collaborative context, the integration of industrial partners depends strongly on the ability to use a collaborative model to interact efficiently. In this paper, the authors propose a model to tackle this point according to the fact that the partners of the collaboration may change. They propose the development of an approach to achieve a dynamic inter-company collaboration. In this cooperation mode, many companies share their resources, data services and processes. These companies have their own mechanisms and applications, which are heterogeneous. First, the authors define a framework to establish this kind of collaboration. The purpose of this solution is to keep the company architecture and to ask the mediator for playing an intermediary role between companies. Then, the authors propose a service selection mechanism based on the agent technology and on the decision tree paradigm. They present an offline composition service process. Finally, they illustrate their solution with an example of treating an emergency case to show the feasibility of the proposed model.

Cette étude vise à connaître la perception qu’ont les parents de la collaboration école-famille principalement lorsque leur enfant est victime de violence à l’école primaire. L’échantillon est constitué de 4394 parents qui ont rempli le Questionnaire sur la Sécurité et la Violence à l’École QSVE/parents. Les résultats rapportent que la collaboration école-famille est perçue positivement par les parents. Les parents qui croient leur enfant victime de violence montrent une perception plus négative de cette collaboration. Près d’un parent sur cinq a signalé à l’école la victimisation de son enfant. Parmi ceux l’ayant signalé entre une et trois fois, une grande proportion se dit satisfaite de l’accueil et de l’aide reçus de l’école, mais ils sont plus nombreux à se dire insatisfaits lorsque ces signalements ont été faits plus de quatre fois. La perception de cette collaboration devient moins positive en fonction du nombre de fois que le parent a signalé la victimisation à l’école.

One prominent strategy of the university network of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is to promote collaboration between the ASEAN universities. Although there are Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) among Asian Universities, the number of collaborative actions are considered extremely low. More than 10 years, PNRU implement on collaboration policy with other ASEAN’s universities. The processes and obstructions of the collaboration between universities in ASEAN were studied by the researcher. This study showed present situation of PNRU and other ASEAN’s universities collaboration. Therefore, the collaboration model between universities in ASEAN was established. The findings revealed that PNRU pursued collaborative activities covering only student and personnel exchange programs. The collaboration obstacles were: 1) policies and goals, 2) implementation plans, 3) university bureaucracy, and 4) language proficiency. A model for university collaboration comprised collaboration processes and principles. A collaboration model for the ASEAN university network involves clear goals, financial and resource support, implementation planning, and raising awareness of participants for collaboration.

Developing communication skills in collaborative contexts is of special interest for educational institutions, since these skills are crucial to forming competent professionals for today’s world. New and accessible technologies open a way to analyze collaborative activities in face-to-face and non-face-to-face situations, where collaboration and student attitudes are difficult to measure using traditional methods. In this context, Multimodal Learning Analytics (MMLA) appear as an alternative to complement the evaluation and feedback of core skills. We present a MMLA platform to support collaboration assessment based on the capture and classification of non-verbal communication interactions. The developed platform integrates hardware and software, including machine learning techniques, to detect spoken interactions and body postures from video and audio recordings. The captured data is presented in a set of visualizations, designed to help teachers to obtain insights about the collaboration of a team. We performed a case study to explore if the visualizations were useful to represent different behavioral indicators of collaboration in different teamwork situations: a collaborative situation and a competitive situation. We discussed the results of the case study in a focus group with three teachers, to get insights in the usefulness of our proposal. The results show that the measurements and visualizations are helpful to understand differences in collaboration, confirming the feasibility the MMLA approach for assessing and providing collaboration insights based on non-verbal communication.

Reductions and reallocations of human resources can make it difficult to accomplish our work and can affect morale—but not always. In this column, Andie Craley describes the net positives of that experience at her institution. While still facing the reality of doing more with less, Craley identifies how its inherent challenges can present definite opportunities and foster a community of collaboration.—EditorHaving started as a library technician at Harford Community College Library (HCC Library) just seventeen years ago, I already find myself the third in seniority. Library staff size seems to diminish as additional job functions are assimilated into existing positions, reallocated as new library services are introduced, redeployed to other departments, or completely eliminated as staff retire or resign. The concept of wearing many hats is common, as is the expectation to take on “other duties as assigned.” From networking with colleagues at other Maryland community college libraries, I know this situation is not unique. The current staffing reality both mirrors the evolution of the library’s facilities and demands doing more with less, but it also provides individual and collective opportunities for growth, supporting a community of collaboration.

The technological and psychological aspects of economic cooperation, including international ones, were studied, a comprehensive analysis of the state of the problem was carried out, and the main ways of development of international economic cooperation were outlined. On the basis of the theory of the method of conflict-free management with forecasting the development of the situation, step-by-step authentication of parameters and status, and correction based on the results, a current analysis of the state of mutual relations is proposed. The goal of the work is to maintain a comfortable minimum level of conflict. A comfortable level is understood as one at which the available resources are not less than marginally expendable, and the level of income exceeds the level of unprofitability. It is shown that conflict-free economic cooperation is closely related to the concept of humanitarian economy (humanomics). It has been proven that moral aspects of humanomics in combination with technological mechanisms of conflict management give all parties of economic interaction an additional mutual benefit. Collaboration encourages sales reps to work with each other instead of against each other, leveraging best practices and, in turn, increasing efficiency. In a collaborative situation, sales reps share their best practices and learnings to help the organization succeed as a whole. Everyone in the company has something to say and undoubtedly has some value to contribute. When using methods of managing conflict processes of interaction between partners, success can be achieved, even if the partner does not always have sufficient reserves of resources. Reflexive management achieves solving this task - taking into account the partner's strengths and weaknesses, purposeful restoration of its resources during long periods of conflict-free cooperation. To achieve this goal, the psychological aspects of the partner's behaviour are taken into account in each specific case. According to them, a multi-step strategy of technical and psychological interaction in the economic sphere is being built.

In this paper the authors use the collaboration framework to explore the implementation of the School Feeding Scheme (SFS) in two primary schools within South Africa. The authors use a qualitative approach to gather data through individual and focus group interviews with two principals and eight teachers respectively. The feeding process was also observed. The authors found that despite recorded achievements, smooth implementation of the scheme was stifled by varied challenges. However, the current situation can be improved if principals initiate strategies that promote collaboration, while caterers and teachers are trained on collaboration and professional ethics. Monitoring and evaluation is encouraged to identify and resolve impending challenges.

Pentahelix concept collaboration as an instrument to accelerate poverty alleviation in the Covid-19 situation in the City of Mataram. The Pentahelix concept is a form of the ability of elements (Government, Academics, Private, Community, Media) to build harmonious synergies in responding to accelerated poverty reduction amid the Covid-19 situation. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews and documentation. The research results of the Pentahelix collaboration process (Government, Academics, Private, Community, Media) in poverty alleviation in the City of Mataram have been well established. This can be seen from the negotiations that took place between the government as a policymaker and other Pentahelix elements. Commitment from every element in Pentahelix in every poverty alleviation policy and program in the Covid-19 situation in the City of Mataram which was carried out as the implementation of a joint decision. the involvement of various actors such as the Government, Academics, Private, Community, and Media, especially in alleviating poverty in the City of Mataram due to the Covid-19 Pandemic is going well.

This paper presents a historical review of the evolution of management thinking and collaboration technologies. This review shows that the gap between management ideas and the functionality available in collaboration technologies has been steadily narrowing since the late 1960s, opening up new opportunities for developers and integrators of these technologies as well as companies that use them. Management ideas have preceded and likely driven the development and use of collaboration technologies up until the early 1990s. This situation has been reversed since the mid-1990s due to circumstances related to the advent of the World Wide Web. One caveat associated with this new state of affairs is that it makes it difficult for companies to achieve or sustain a competitive advantage in their industries, particularly if they use standard technologies that are also available to their competitors. From a traditional management perspective, this is the equivalent to placing the "cart in front of the horses", so to speak. We argue that, to overcome difficulties associated with this situation companies need to instill a new management model into their management ranks. Based on the results of business process redesign projects involving over 10 companies in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Region, we provide a first step toward the development of a generic management model that takes advantage of features of modern collaboration technologies.

To explore the optimal mechanism of emergency supply chain collaboration when an epidemic crisis occurs, we construct a tripartite evolutionary game model of emergency collaboration among the government, the retailer, and the supplier to explore the interaction of primary strategies and the impact of critical parameters on the evolution and stability of the system. We conduct simulation analysis based on the actual situation of China’s emergency supply chain development. The research results show that in the recognition period of the crisis, the government participates in emergency supervision and the retailer participates in emergency collaboration, but the supplier does not participate in emergency collaboration. However, in the containment period of the crisis, the government increases penalties, provides appropriate emergency subsidies, and improves the efficiency of emergency supervision, which are conducive to promoting the supplier’s participation in emergency collaboration. In the recovery period of the crisis, as the benefits of both the retailer and the supplier participation in emergency collaboration increase, the government will withdraw from emergency supervision gradually. Moreover, the weaker the risk of supply chain enterprises participating in emergency collaboration, the more reasonable the distribution of the collaboration benefits, and the more conducive to the spontaneous emergency collaboration of the retailer and the supplier.

This study investigates the research on nickel-cobalt-copper productive collaboration and intelligent decision-making technology for symbiotic coupling enterprises in the Gansu Province of China. The aim is to address the problems of low resource utilization efficiency, weak production collaboration, and an insufficient intelligent decision-making level in the nonferrous metallurgy industry. First, the present situation of nickel-cobalt-copper industry chain-level collaboration in the agglomeration area is analyzed extensively, and the corresponding problems are proposed. Second, the functional framework of productive collaboration and intelligent decision-making is presented from the industrial chain and industrial agent levels. In addition, the design methods of various balance strategies in the production collaboration within the industrial agent are provided. These can realise the daily balance of material, metal, and energy data in an individual industrial agent. Finally, with regard to intelligent decision-making at the industrial chain level, six key measures surrounding different themes are provided to support the implementation of productive collaboration and intelligent decision-making in the nonferrous metallurgy agglomeration area.

Currently, Japan is rapidly aging. Japanese government agencies report that the percentage of elderly people whose ages are at least 65 years will increase by up to about 30 percent in 2025. As one of the measures towards this situation, the community-based integrated healthcare system will be introduced in Japan. The system aims to provide elderly people living at home with appropriate health, medical, and welfare services. We focus on the burden of sharing information on the situation of the elderly at home among health, medical, welfare staffs, and neighbors. We have been developing a supporting system for sharing information on the situation of the elderly at home and conducted a field test around one year. We consider that various stakeholders involved in the community comprehensive health care system could recognize the importance of information sharing and collaboration with them through this kind of social implementation

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine recent literature for a review of the concepts of collaboration in library and information science and related disciplines and to develop a conceptual framework for application in academic contexts globally. Design/methodology/approach – An investigation of literature exploring the multifaceted meanings and dimensions of collaboration and subsequent development of a framework for analysis. To exemplify the use of the framework in analysing collaboration between academics and librarians, and to demonstrate the impact of context on collaboration, the paper explores the situation and educational contexts in two national settings – one a developed country (Australia) and the other a developing country (Vietnam). Findings – Contextual factors have a substantial impact on the nature of collaboration between academics and librarians. The collaboration framework developed is applied to academic settings in two countries, Vietnam and Australia, and dimensions of collaboration are compared and contrasted in the two countries. Insights and implications are drawn concerning the distinctive features of effective collaboration as well as the achievements and challenges of such collaborative partnerships. Research limitations/implications – This literature-based article reports on the first part of a larger research project. Further development and application of the conceptual framework in studying the collaborative relationship between academics and librarians empirically are deemed important. Originality/value – This paper provides insights into the current condition and challenges in developing collaboration between academics and librarians. The proposed framework is beneficial to academics, librarians and universities interested in addressing the issues of this partnership in various academic contexts.

Toutefois, certaines difficultés comme l’établissement des rôles respectifs et des attentes mutuelles peuvent entraver la collaboration. With the transformation of the knowledge production model, the research system of educational research is becoming more extensive, and academic collaboration has become an important productive method of promoting the sustainable development of educational empirical research. Given this situation, what kinds of relationships will sustainably improve educational empirical research output quality? Taking the influence of educational empirical research article as an example, we selected 4610 empirical research articles in 15 education journals for analysis, published between the years of 2015 and 2020. In the sustainable development progress of educational empirical research, the optimal scale phenomenon has been verified in cooperative research. Identity collaboration, institutional collaboration, international collaboration, and discipline collaboration were all found to have a strongly significant influence on the sustainable improvement of educational empirical research output quality. Meanwhile, the output quality of educational empirical research is affected by the heterogeneity of the number of cooperators and cooperating identities. These findings suggest that the optimal proportion of teacher–student collaboration should be 2–3, and the optimal scale of colleague collaboration should be 3–4. Compared with teacher–student collaboration, colleague collaboration, including cross-organization and interdisciplinary collaboration, was more conductive to enhancing the sustainable improvement of educational empirical research outcome quality. According to these findings, it is reasonable to believe that, in the process of the sustainable development of educational empirical research, fine-guidance-style teacher–student collaboration and small-scale, cross-unit colleague collaboration should be promoted; meanwhile, strengthening the collaboration between normal universities, optimizing the quality of international collaboration, and promoting pedagogy intersection with other disciplines are also critical to promote the sustainable improvement of educational empirical research outcome quality.

Marginalized people in our communities experience social and educational services in silos, which can often lead to crisis and increasing risk of harm. Complex situations with multiple risk factors cannot be addressed by any single agency on its own. Collaboration between agencies is often challenging. Risk-driven Situation Tables provide clear structures and supports for communities to respond quickly to situations of acutely elevated risk with rapid responses to connect marginalized people to services. School Board participation in Situation Tables is essential because: a) educators may not even be aware of other risk factors in a complex situation; b) truancy is not just a school problem and is an indicator of other risk factors; and, c) the complexity of student risk factors beyond the mandate of School Board requires collaboration with multiple sectors. In this article, the author provides evidence in support of these arguments through several real-life examples of these types of situations, and offers his educator’s perspective on this social innovation, gained from his direct experience as a Table Chair in his final year of a 31-year career in education.

I have also, on quite a number of occasions during lessons, registered resignation and tedium on the part of pupils.The consequence has been drop-out from music school – sometimes experienced as a relief both by teacher and pupil. Despite the fact that the educational orientation has been based on a ‘musical encounter’ between teacher and pupil, this encounter has not occurred (or has sometimes occurred with a difference which certainly might have been corrected). But the pupil's great interest in music has not diminished – great interest, that is, in music as the pupil understands the term!

The main objective of the paper is to identify and explore patterns and dynamics of transatlantic scientific collaboration in the field of strategic management between the United States (US) and European countries (EUC) during the last quarter century. Scholarly connections between countries, cities and institutions on the basis of co-author affiliations were analysed to determine the knowledge flow from a geographical perspective. This is the first time international scientific collaboration between researchers in the field of strategic management has been studied to such an extent. We employed all sources of relevant data from the Web of Science and Scopus databases and explored 453 results. Utilizing a bibliometric analysis, our study offers a comprehensive and up-todate identification and assessment of the current situation and dynamics of transatlantic scientific collaboration. The obtained results confirm the dominant role of the US in this type of collaboration. Also, the dominant role of several clusters in terms of collaboration, both on country and institution levels can also be observed. The study confirms the weaker position of Eastern and Central Europe countries in this collaboration and provides some recommendations to increase this type of knowledge exchange in the future.

This paper aims to understand the value of collaboration in a ‘state of emergency’ situation, featuring the case of the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector in Zimbabwe over the period 2008–2012. During this period, a group of stakeholders engaged in a structured collaboration, called the WASH cluster. This initiative was taken to respond to severe and frequent cholera outbreaks. Over these 5 years, the collaborating partners engaged in a voluntary partnership, which attracted attention due to the ascribed improvements of some key health indicators. Drawing from the body of literature on collaboration, the research confirms the applicability of findings on both the process and key features of successful collaboration and was able to position the evolution of the Zimbabwean case in the continuum of collaboration arrangements proposed in the literature. Likewise, the specific sequencing and causality of steps in the creation and development of the Zimbabwean WASH cluster were found to match those of the collaborative pathway. Finally, the findings confirm the general applicability of principles of collaboration, although the evaluation of its outcomes poses challenges. In addition, the research found that inasmuch as prominent leaders enhance collaboration, leadership by permanent government bodies promotes sustainability of the collaborative approach.

Collaboration management involves capturing the collaboration process, coordinating the activities of the participating applications and humans, and/or providing awareness, i.e. information that is highly relevant to a specific role and situation of a process participant. In this paper, we propose an awareness provisioning solution that allows focusing, customizing, and temporally constraining the awareness delivered to each process participant. Unlike existing collaboration management technologies (such as workflow and groupware) that provide only a few built-in awareness choices, the proposed awareness solution allows the specification of what information is to be given to what users and at what time. To support this advanced level of awareness, we require the definition of awareness roles and the specification of corresponding awareness descriptions. Awareness roles can be dynamically created and associated with any process scope. Awareness descriptions define what information is to be given to users in an awareness role. Since awareness roles are created or become visible when they are needed, the existence of an awareness role also determines the appropriate time interval during which the information specified in the awareness description can be delivered. This awareness provisioning approach minimizes information overloading and allows the combination of process-relevant information with external information as needed by the process participants. The proposed awareness provisioning solution is employed by the Collaboration Management Infrastructure (CMI), a federated system for collaboration process management. In this paper, we introduce an Awareness Model (AM) for creating awareness specifications and defining related execution semantics. Awareness specifications in AM are specialized composite event specifications that define patterns of process-related events and external events, as well as how information should be digested from them. We also describe the implementation of CMI's awareness provisioning engine and related tools.

Traditional wall-sized displays mostly only support side-by-side co-located collaboration, while transparent displays naturally support face-to-face interaction. Many previous works assume transparent displays support collaboration. Yet it is unknown how exactly its afforded face-to-face interaction can support loose or close collaboration, especially compared to the side-by-side configuration offered by traditional large displays. In this paper, we used an established experimental task that operationalizes different collaboration coupling and layout locality, to compare pairs of participants collaborating side-by-side versus face-to-face in each collaborative situation. We compared quantitative measures and collected interview and observation data to further illustrate and explain our observed user behavior patterns. The results showed that the unique face-to-face collaboration brought by transparent display can result in more efficient task performance, different territorial behavior, and both positive and negative collaborative factors. Our findings provided empirical understanding about the collaborative experience supported by wall-sized transparent displays and shed light on its future design.

The first step to do disaster management accurately is getting comprehensive information about disaster. A situational map is the overview of the disaster situation based on geo-spatial information at a particular time. This map is a tool which can gain comprehensive information in emergency. This study aims to complement earlier research with re test confidence level variable that is divided for object detection, type, and location. Besides this study examines collecting information system in emergency situation model that used to be used by police agencies which is using mediator. this study is conducted by experiments that involved 48 participants that were divided in 16 groups. The participants sample consisted of wide variety of different majority and educational level in UGM and non UGM with age range between 19 and 29 years old (Mean = 24; SD = 2.68). The whole experiments are collaboration, collaboration with confidence level and collaboration with mediator. Assessments of experiment accuracy were used three kinds which are checklist, detection and position of objects. Another factor that is considered is prior knowledge of mediator and respondent. This study using α = 5% and ANOVA showed position information more accurate with confidence level model. Other information like checklist and detection could using all model. Abstract Facing the unprecedented situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, public officials at the municipality-level have no clear benchmarks or tested policies. In this situation, decision-making becomes a controversial process. This article provides insights for public agents in the Brazilian municipalities to deal with the initial stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. We analyzed the actions taken by city halls of the 52 Brazilian municipalities at least thirty days since the first confirmed case of COVID-19. We used a fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) to identify the combinations of contextual factors and public actions that reduced COVID-19 transmission during the critical initial stage. The empirical results show three main paths to guide policy-making: (1) a plural collaboration path involving public and private sectors, operating in a fragile health system; (2) a public action path providing aid programs through intense collaboration inside public bureaucracy; and (3) a resource-based path relying on a well-structured health system.

The aim of this ethnographic study is to analyse themes for ‘the successful collaborations’ that emerge from the study field notes on youth in Swedish juvenile care, and that can be interpreted as beneficial for these youth. These successful collaborations were observed, for instance, at meetings where the young persons were being discussed, and where an observer could distinguish planning for them that was carried out practically. The empirical base for this study is its total of 119 field observations/notes. The examples analysed reference a completed appointment for an eye test, a practical realization of active leisure, homework help and an internship placement that works. The coherence of three actors belonging to three different categories (coherent triads), and success points of interest that benefit the youth in the situation, create the image of a positive development for them. In this way, common identities of interplay that are useful for the young person are created and elucidated. The physical presence of the young person in these situations is an especially important theme for the ‘successful collaboration’. This study shows that trust and motivation are important aspects for a successful collaboration and inclusion of less powerful individuals and groups of individuals within a community. Young people discussed in this study receive confirmation of their identities by participating in the community, with a successful interaction between actors in juvenile care a prerequisite for successful involvement and integration.

As the global economy grows, the labor market's demand for qualified employees increases. However, the present situation is not able to meet labor market requirements; laborers are inexperienced, and their professional skills are inadequate. Collaboration between vocational schools and businesses is essential for educational activities. This study aimed to investigate the degree of perception, the contents, the forms, and the variables that influenced collaboration activities in practical training between vocational schools and businesses. A quantitative study method was conducted on 570 respondents (195 teachers, 125 managers, and 250 graduated students) randomly recruited from four provinces/cities in Vietnam. The results show that participants perceived the importance of practical teaching coordination activities in vocational schools and businesses. In addition, some contents and forms were applied to collaboration teaching activities between vocational schools and businesses Future studies should consider similar experimental studies to develop appropriate practical training collaboration activities models based on perception levels and factors impacting activities.
