Abstract: The paper presents the development of a automatic operated compress which encompasses the design, fabrication and performance evaluation of the press. The components parts of the machine were designed using various design equations. The design results were used to select materials for various components. The detailed drawing of the developed machine was done using solid works software. In fabricating the machine, mild steel was used as the locally sourced material. The use of mild steel is due to the fact that its strength, rigidity and machinability falls within the design specifications. Some components of the machine developed include; the frame, working bed, and buttons (on / off ). Some of the bought out parts include: ram assembly, rotaey motor, pressure indicator. Here the automation of a pressing machine using electric rotary motor. Generally, the manual operation of the pressing machine is automated. The main objective is to reduce man power, cost, production time and to increase the quantity and quality of production. The existing system of pressing process are manual controlling of pressing and unloading and the chance of human errors and production time are more. In order to overcome these errors, we have designed this electric rotary machine pressing . The automatic press machines that are incorporated with a electric rotary motor are made for heavy-duty pressing operations. In a heavy-duty pressing operation, the production is bulky and precision is required.

Focusing on low-frequency shaking of the construction machine cab, the article analyzes reasons of the shaking and shows several improved isolator designs to reduce the effect of shaking on drivers’ comfort. Firstly according to previous 4 modes below 26 Hz from the finite element analysis of an excavator cab with 6 cab mounts, reasons for low-frequency shaking are analyzed. Then two improved measures of isolator designs for keeping the shaking small effectively are considered. Static analysis on one silicone-oil-sealed-type rubber mount, which can improve drivers’ comfort effectively according to practical application, is done. Besides, perfect setting approaches of isolators can greatly alleviate the cab shaking, which is confirmed by finite element modal analysis of the excavator cab, the first natural frequency of cab increased to 15.55Hz from 6.91Hz.

Abstract. Rotary forging is an innovative incremental metal forming process, In a rotary forging press with double eccentricity sleeves, the eccentricity of double eccentricity sleeves has significant effects on the movements of swing head. The internal and external eccentricity of the existing rotary forging machine is equal, except circular path, the rotation speed of internal and external eccentric sleeves for the rose curve, spirals curve and straight line is not equal, which will produce the oscillation centrifugal force during the forming process and cause the violent shaking on the machine. The shaking of the machine has an important influence on the life of the equipment parts machining accuracy and surface profile of parts, reducing the production efficiency. This paper proposes a method to reduce shaking by changing eccentricity and studied the influence of unequal eccentricity on the movements of swing head obtained the design relationship of internal and external sleeves eccentricity, which can reduce the shaking in rotary forging press. This study improving the working state of the rotary forging machine and economic benefits.

This article presents an analysis of the causes of a fatigue crack in the guide bar of a pressing device. The detailed analysis included the analysis of a material’s microstructure and its cyclic properties. Direct measurements of the strains during operation allowed the nominal loading process in the critical cross-section of the press subassembly to be obtained. The notch effect of the inner thread of the guide bar was analyzed using a precision FEM (finite element method) model and was followed by the transformation of the nominal loading into the notch root. A methodological approach was formulated based on the analyses made, which lay in the statistical interpretation of the factors leading to an identification of the cause of an early fracture.

An optimization procedure for minimizing the shaking force harmonics of machinery is described. Because of constraints imposed by the specification, optimization is unlikely to make any significant reduction in the fundamental, machine frequency, term of the shaking force. That term, normally the largest, must be substantially reduced by other means for the procedure described here to be cost effective. Earlier work describing methods of reducing the fundamental term are cited. An extrusion press machine incorporating two planar mechanisms, one crank driven and one cam driven, provides an example. Two designs of the cam-driven mechanism, referred to here as cams 1 and 2, are in use in installed extrusion press machines. Harmonic analysis of the shaking force as a function of time shows that cam 2 produces smaller amplitudes of shaking force harmonics. The ten variables used in the optimization process are the amplitudes and angles of the first five terms of a trigonometric series defining the acceleration of a reciprocating mass driven by a hypothetical third cam, cam 3, which is similar to cam 2 but stripped of all harmonics of order higher than the fifth. The objective function is the sum of the amplitudes of the horizontal components of the second to fifth shaking force harmonics on the machine as a consequence of accelerations of the moving parts of both mechanisms. Several equality and inequality constraints must be met. For the extrusion press machine the result is a reduction in the amplitudes that would be created if cam 3 were to be used by approximately 10, 75, 65 and 100 per cent respectively. The improvement over cam 1 is greater. The procedure is particularly suited as a retrofit measure where the number of installed machines is large in relation to the future rate of production of new machines: a cam that has been removed from one machine can be re-cut for use on another machine.

Bamboo is very popular in the countryside of almost all Southeast countries, particularly in Vietnam. Its ability can replace some kinds of wood in decoration and household goods. Bamboo grows up rapidly and can be harvested within 3 to 5 years of planting; in the meanwhile, the harvesting time of other hardwood trees must be from 8 to 10 years or longer. The inherent characteristics of bamboo are lighter than other wood materials and have a value in social and environmental benefits. Its advances in manufacturing technology have created high-value products such as bamboo flooring and bamboo furniture that can substitute for wood flooring and wood furniture. Bamboo plywood presses play an important role in the production of bamboo plywood in the industry. The machine has the function of pressing bamboo powder, and binder has been mixed from the front to the bamboo plank to meet the technical requirements. This article presents a design of bamboo plywood pressing machine that combines the heating function for the blocking board and keeps that temperature during the pressing process to create a suitable size bamboo plywood according to customer requirements. The simulation results show that the complete bamboo plywood-pressing machine is appropriate and authentic to the initial design. The result of the design was applied to manufacture the machine in DCSELAB workshop via a collaboration project between Langtre PhuAn company and the DCSELAB. The system is installed a resistance flat plate capacity of 1KW, and 2 resistors flat plate with the capacity of 0.8KW. The first manufactured machine is now in the initial working session in Langtre Villige, Binh Duong province. The initial experimental products were accepted by the partner company, and we have recommended some measures to ameliorate time by time the quality as well as the productivity of the machine. There is really not yet an official statistic on the comparison with the products of a similar machine, and we are attending the response of the customers.

Abstract. The shaking functionality of different types of shaking tines for citrus canopy shakers was evaluated. Shaking responses were simulated using ANSYS/LS-DYNA, and a tractor-mounted experimental shaking machine developed for conducting field trials. Straight nylon, bent nylon, straight PVC, and straight steel tines were used as shaking rods and, in experiments, accelerometers placed at branches and fruit to detect vibrational acceleration. Simulation results indicated that tine materials affected the vibrational response of trees and the acceleration peaks of branches and limbs exerted by a steel tine were ~2.0 times as high as exerted by a nylon tine. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrated that the tine bending stiffness had a positive effect on the generated acceleration. Tree injuries caused by a straight nylon tine were much less than by other tines. The results suggested that a shaking tine should have high stiffness, but its surface should be soft. These simulation and experiment methods can be used for improving canopy shaker applications. Keywords: Citrus harvest, Canopy shaking, Shaking functionality, Trial.

In order to meet requirement of separation screen for tenebrio molitor L, one separation screen was designed, this product has a good separation, simple structure, low cost, high efficiency, easy operation. Based on the analysis of design requirement of separating screen for tenebrio molitor L, overall structure, working principle and the main structural parameters were determined. The kinematic mathematical model of shaking mechanism was established by using the vector method. The kinematics analysis of shaking mechanism was conducted by using Matlab, the displacement, velocity and acceleration curves of sieve box were obtained. The performance test showed that the prototype machine can screen different instar tenebrio molitor L and frass, this machine has good screening effect. In addition, machine design and performance are able to meet the design requirements.

In this process, paper is compacted and densified to degrees that impact end-use performance. Average density is increased by pressing, which has implications for grades where stiffness is important. The z-direction density gradients can affect printing and converting. Lastly, pressing affects surface quality of paper and its response to printing. Broadly speaking, the final press nip dominates the paper surface roughness and the early press nips affect printing performance.

AbstractThe thick vesicant oil liquid contained in the shell of cashew nut, called cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL), has been known for its innumerable applications in chemical industries. Performance evaluation of a newly developed CNSL expeller was carried out to determine the effect of moisture content and pressing duration on extraction parameters. The nut shells were grouped as A: 14.00-16.99%, B: 17.00-19.99% and C: 20.00-22.99% (w.b.) moisture content at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 minutes pressing time and combination of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 kg of cashew nut shells. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used for the stastical analysis. The best mass of liquid extracted, best extraction efficiency and best percentage oil recovery occured at pressing duration of 10 minutes and moisture content of 14.00-16.99% (w.b.), while the best machine capacity was at pressing duration of 2 minutes and moisture content of 14.00-16.99% (w.b.). Results showed that the effects of the pressing duration and moisture content on mass of liquid extracted, machine capacity, extraction efficiency and percentage liquid recovery were significant at 0.05. Meanwhile, the effects of the pressing duration and moisture contents were not significant for the feed rate. Increase in the pressing duration at decreasingthe moisture content resulted in the increase in the mass of liquid extracted, extraction efficiency and percentage liquid recovery while increase in pressing duration and moisture content resulted in decrease in machine capacity of the expeller.

Abstrak Mesin pres biji kelor termasuk jenis mesin hidrolik dengan mekanisme tekan horizontal. Cara kerja mesin pres biji kelor dengan meneruskan daya putaran dari poros melalui media penghantar (fluida) menjadi daya tekan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem transmisi mesin pres biji kelor dengan putaran mesin 1400 rpm, daya 1 Hp dan kapasitas awal 100 gram. Metode penelitian berupa analisis numeric dengan variabel yang disesuaikan. Perancangan system transmisi menggunakan bahan S30C dengan kekuatan tarik 58 kg/mm2 dan tegangan geser diizinkan 4,83 kg/mm2 Mesin pres biji kelor menghasilkan kecepatan transmisi 18,70m/s dengan perkiraan waktu pemerasan 2,18 detik. Mesin pengepress biji kelor dengan mekanisme tekan horizontal memiliki hasil perasan yaitu sekitar 15,6% (100 g biji kelor = 16 ml minyak kelor) dengan gaya tarik transmisi 267,54 N. Kata kunci: Sistem transmisi, putaran mesin, daya, mesin pres Abstract Moringa seed press is a type of hydraulic machine with a horizontal pressing mechanism. The moringa seed press works by passing the rotational power from the shaft through the conveying medium (fluid) to become compressive power. This study aims to design a transmission system for the moringa seed pressing machine with an engine speed of 1400 rpm, 1 hp power, and an initial capacity of 100 grams. The research method is numerical analysis with adjusted variables. The design of the transmission system uses S30C material with tensile strength () 58 kg/mm2 and allowed shear stress () 4.83 kg/mm2. The moringa seed pressing machine produces a transmission speed of 18.70m/s with an estimated squeeze time of 2.18 seconds. The moringa seed pressing machine with a horizontal pressing mechanism has a yield of about 15.6% (100 g of moringa seeds = 16 ml of Moringa oil) with a transmission pulling force of 267.54 N.Keywords: Transmission system, engine speed, power, pressing machine

This paper describes several mechanical balancers, based on the planetary gear trains known as the hypotrochoid and epitrochoid trains, for reducing or eliminating second-order out-of-balance in mechanical systems. It is shown that by proper arrangement of the planetary gear trains, a balancer can be obtained for the elimination of second-order shaking forces or second-order shaking moments or a combination of both shaking forces and moments. The advantage of this type of balancer is that the carrier of the gear train needs only to run at the primary speed of the mechanical system to be balanced. Therefore, the balancer can be designed to be concentric with the primary rotating shaft of the machine using the primary shaft as the carrier. For example, for the balance of the second-order shaking force of an inline four-cylinder four-stroke internal combustion piston engine, the balancer can be placed on the third main bearing or one on each of the second and fourth main bearings.

To explore the cause of structure vibration, this study aims to propose a kinematic equation and analyze its movement in relation to cam linkage mechanism for a jacketing machine and shearing mechanism. Finite element method is adopted to construct the kinetic model of linkage subsystem of shearing mechanism. This method can solve the inability of the shearing mechanism to accurately complete the shearing actions of the rubber hose during large vibration of the mechanism. Lumped parameter method is adopted to establish the kinetic model of the cam roller subsystem, and Newmark method is used to solve the kinetic equation of the shearing mechanism. The optimal parameters of the linking rod, cam profile, and shaking force and shaking moment of the mechanism at different rotation speeds are analyzed. Results show that rotation speed and cam profile are factors affecting the performance of the mechanism. The shaking force (shaking moment) is the main cause of the vibration of the mechanism on the rack. As such, the shaking force and shaking moment of the mechanism are selected as the objective functions of the optimization model. The node parameters of B-spline curve movement law and cross-section parameters of the linking rod are used as variables for the optimal design of the cam linkage system. Finally, the obtained optimal value is x = [0.33 0.2 0.54 0.62 8.7 3.0 7.8 16.3] T.

This paper reflects on the indemnity of women in our society. The proposed model ensures the embodiment of a mobile application. The algorithm, we developed for this model focuses the safety issues which is applicable to both inside as well as outside of the house for the women in Bangladesh. The solution of this problems can be done through some interrelated features such as i) SOS button pressing which ensures automatic calling, instant location tracking system through GPS of the phone and sending tracked location to all trusted numbers, automatically secrete video recording system ii) voice command detection which assures exact same features as SOS button pressing iii) phone shaking features serve user instant immunity by calling a trusted number. This research also assures experimented data analysis at Dhaka city based on respond time, the time it takes to arrive the SMS and Phone call and current location of the victim. Also do a short comparison among the most popular safety related mobile applications.

Aiming at the shaft pressing and assembling process for steel shaft and small gear, which is frequent in toy gear reducer assembling, a reconfigurable and multi-station auto shaft pressing and assembling machine had been developed. In the machine, steel shaft and small gear are positioned in a pre-positioned fixture in advance. The assembling process is carried out in three stations simultaneously. It makes the machines efficiency become higher. Applying the reconfigurable design concept, the machine can be divided into basal modules and changeable modules. The changeable modules can be adjusted or replaced to make the machine fit for components of multifarious small gears and steel shafts with different length and diameter. Each module of the machine is introduced in detail and related problems are discussed in the paper.

The cost of picking the agriculture product is probably the major factor in determining whether or not there will be an economically successful season for most farmers. Hand harvesting has been costly, whereby, the cost of production constitute up to 80% of the total cost. Jatropha curcas has been considered as a potential feedstock for biodiesel production. Today, Jatropha curcas have been widely planted for harvesting its fruits for biodiesel production. Unfortunately, until now, the cost of jatropha production for biodiesel production is still high, especially labor costs for harvesting. The aim of the present study was to design, construct and evaluate a portable jatropha harvester to reduce dependence on human labor in the harvesting process. This smart harvester was developed by devising a simple crank powered by a hand drill 12 volt (V) that converts the rotary motion to linear motion at a push rod. To evaluate the machine performance, a factorial experiment with randomized complete randomized design (RCBD) in ten replications was conducted, the factors being shaking frequency (180, 250 and 300 rpm) and shaking duration (5, 10 and 15 seconds). To calculate the ratio of fruit detachment force (F) to its weight (W), appropriate measurements were made. Also, the geometric mean diameter of the fruits was determined at different stages of maturity. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and comparison of means by Duncan's multiple range test (DMRT) showed that the effects of shaking frequency and shaking time on fruit detachment were greatly significant. The number of fruits detached increased by increasing the shaking frequency. Maximum number of fruits detachment was obtained by applying 300 rpm shaking frequency. Also the number of fruits detached increased by increasing the shaking duration.

The pneumatic system tofu press machine is made to make it easier to press tofu. Previously, tofu was pressed manually, namely by using a stone as a tofu press which resulted in the length of the tofu compaction process. Pressing with stones can also cause work accidents. This tofu press machine uses pneumatics as a punch driver which will press the tofu. The way this tofu machine works is by pressing the on button on the machine then the punch will move down towards the tofu essence and press the tofu. Punch paused for a moment to make sure the tofu blended in perfectly. Then press the off button on the machine to return the punch to its original position. This pneumatic system tofu press machine can reduce work accidents, lighten work, shorten processing time and is also more hygienic because it uses air as a punch driver.

The possible effect of shaker harvest on root damage of 10-year-old cherry trees was studied on a simple tree structure model. The model was composed of elastic trunk and rigid main roots, the ends of which were connected to the surrounding soil via springs and dumping elements. Equations were set up to be able to calculate the relation between shaking height on the trunk and strain in the roots. To get the data for root break and their elongation at different shaking heights on the trunk, laboratory and field experiments were carried out on cherry trees and on their roots. Having evaluated the measured and calculated data it could be concluded that root damage is to be expected even at 3.6% strain and the risk of it increases with increased trunk amplitudes, i.e.with the decrease of shaking heightat smaller stem diameters (i.e. in younger plantation), andif the unbalanced mass of the shaker machine is too large for the given tree size.

This article explains the physical features of various methods of compaction, primarily for end of life vehicle (ELV) bodies coming from ELV processors. By EU directive 2000/53/EC it is mandatory for all EU members to meet the reuse of 95 % of the old vehicle weight. It means that the vehicles have to be decomposed completely – metal shells freed from all the components like interior trim, rubber sealing, glass, all the liquids, seats tanks and other hard metal components like drive-train, engine etc. It follows that pressing machines used for compressing whole vehicles today, are overpowered, with high energy demand, robust structures and heavy weight. Hence it makes sense to concentrate on comparison of pressing methods and choosing the most energy efficient one and the designing a new device, if necessary. Laksana Tekhnik Makmur Tbk. is a manufacturing company that produces marine interiors and automotive accessories. The company usually uses a continuous sealer machine for plastic production processes. The continuous sealer machine is a plastic press machine that can automatically glue plastic packaging and aluminum foil. The plastic press process on this continuous sealer machine requires three persons as the operator and four work steps, namely, pressing the bottom plastic, installing the iron clip on the top, pressing the plastic on the top, and removing the iron clip. In these work steps, the plastic sealer press process is carried out twice in a product. These steps waste time and operator cause the plastic press process is inefficient. The problem from a continuous sealer machine was replaced by making an automatic control system on the plastic hot press machine. This machine will reduce the number of working steps from four working steps to two working steps. So that it can reduce the cycle time by 75% and increase the production of plastic presses by 24,000 pcs a day.

The operational modal analysis (OMA) was conducted on a certain industrial sewing machine to identify its modal parameters. Harmonic analysis was carried out through the OP.Synthesis method and false modes were removed according to the Modal Assurance Criterion, finally the natural frequency, damping ratio and modal shape were obtained. The vibration in the low frequencies is mainly nodding and shaking, while that in the high frequencies is local expansion of the head and motor end. The result shows that, the modal parameters of the industrial sewing machine can be well identified by the OMA method. This paper provides a valuable reference for the vibration source identification and structural vibration reduction.

A mechanical transmission equipment of traditional straightening machine for plates are driven by worm gear and worm, which causes small straightening force, slow pressing speed and low control precision. However, screwdown control system of straightening machine can be driven by hydraulic system, which will lead to large straightening force, rapid pressing speed and high control precision. This system was designed for straightening machine with nine rolls for plates, its transfer function was deduced, and the analysis on its stability and time response was conducted. A BP neural network PID controller was utilized in the system for improving dynamic characteristics. It can be concluded that the system responds rapidly, and stability and control precision are high if BP neural network PID controller is used in the system.

The guitar musical instrument industry located in Baki District, Sukoharjo, Central Java, Indonesia, is still using the manual method of guitar manufacturing process currently. The problem is that the guitar production time is not only 2 hours and is considered a long time and non-uniformity of the quality. A better Technology is needed to help improve the quality and quantity of guitar production. The purpose of this research is to design and manufacture a guitar side body press with a heater using an electric element and a gas stove. The benefit of this tool is that it speeds up the process of forming the side body of the guitar. The research method begins with a preliminary study, design, manufacture, assembly, and testing the performance of the guitar side body-forming machine. The research resulted in a unit of guitar side body pressing machine with a length of 1200 (mm) Width 520 (mm) Height 1000 (mm). 2000 (watt) electric heater. The pressing process uses a manual screw press. Testing showed that the best performance of the guitar side body press machine is at a temperature of 75℃ with 5 minutes pressing time. The machine produced by this research can be used by guitar SMEs to improve quality, productivity, and competitiveness.

Purpose This paper aims to propose a dynamically balanced mechanism for cleaning unit used in agricultural thresher machine using a dynamically equivalent system of point masses. Design/methodology/approach The cleaning unit works on crank-rocker Grashof mechanism. This mechanism can be balanced by optimizing the inertial properties of each link. These properties are defined by the dynamic equivalent system of point masses. Parameters of these point masses define the shaking forces and moments. Hence, the multi-objective optimization problem with minimization of shaking forces and shaking moments is formulated by considering the point mass parameters as the design variables. The formulated optimization problem is solved using a posteriori approach-based algorithm i.e. the non-dominated sorting Jaya algorithm (NSJAYA) and a priori approach-based algorithms i.e. Jaya algorithm and genetic algorithm (GA) under suitable design constraints. Findings The mass, center of mass and inertias of each link are calculated using optimum design variables. These optimum parameters improve the dynamic performance of the cleaning unit. The optimal Pareto set for the balancing problem is measured and outlined in this paper. The designer can choose any solution from the set and balance any real planar mechanism. Originality/value The efficiency of the proposed approach is tested through the existing cleaning mechanism of the thresher machine. It is found that the NSJAYA is computationally more efficient than the GA and Jaya algorithm. ADAMS software is used for the simulation of the mechanism.

Industrial hemp as a source of fiber is a valuable industrial raw material. In modern conditions, the lines of its primary processing should produce the same type of fiber with different characteristics, depending on the requirements for the properties of the finished fiber. The purpose of the work is to substantiate the scheme for processing industrial hemp based on the characteristics of hemp. Five primary processing lines were compared, including domestic flax equipment (M-110L2 grinding machine, DLV-2 disintegrators, and TG-135L shaker machines with a lower comb field). As raw materials the industrial hemp from Penza region, harvested in the spring, was used. The mass of one handful is 100 g, the loading density is 0.5 kg/m, the twist is three times. Raw materials were loaded into each machine manually. After primary processing by instrumental methods, hemp grade and characteristics were determined according to GOST 9993-2014. The scheme of the line for primary processing of industrial hemp in the form of tangled mass of stems of various lengths, which allows the production of the same type of hemp with different values of technological characteristics, has been developed. For the production of the same type of hemp with an average mass length of fiber 142 ... 144 mm, a mass fraction of bonfire of 1.6 ... 2.2%, a weighted average linear density of 11 ... 12 tex, the line should include a pulping machine, a disintegrator, two shaking machines; with characteristics respectively 235 mm, 7 ... 8% and 12 ... 13 tex - a disintegrator and two shaking machines; 219 mm and 15 ... 16%, 18 ... 19 tex - pulley and two shaking machines. Using the studied set of equipment provides a reduction in capital costs, in comparison with the lines of other manufacturers, by 3 ... 4 times, energy costs - up to 40%

Minyak kelapa dapat diproduksi melalui ekstraksi kering kopra mentah dengan perolehan minyak 63-65%, dan salah satu metodenya adalah dengan cara pengepresan mekanis menggunakan Mesin Screw Press Oil. Pada proses pengepresan, ada banyak faktor yang menyebabkan kehilangan minyak sehingga perolehan produk minyak menjadi lebih sedikit. Pada penelitian ini ditujukan untuk diperolehnya hasil minyak kelapa maksimum dengan mengamati faktor kondisi operasi selama proses pengepresan, seperti kecepatan putar sekrup dan temperatur. Selanjutnya, diperoleh juga jumlah intensitas konsumsi energi dan efisiensi menekan dalam proses produksi minyak kelapa dari bahan baku kopra menggunakan Mesin Screw Press Oil. In dry extraction, coconut oil is produced with raw copra material which has an oil content of 63-65%. In the pressing process, there are many factors that cause oil losses so that the acquisition of oil products becomes less. Therefore, this study aims to obtain maximum coconut oil yield by analyzing several factors of operating conditions during the pressing process such as screw rotational speed and temperature. Furthermor, it is also obtained the amount of energy consumption intensity and pressing efficiency in the production process of coconut oil from copra raw materials using the Screw Press Oil Machine. The research method begins with the preparation stage of the material and the engine testing stage by analyzing the energy intensity and pressing efficiency at the Screw Oil Press Machine needed in the process of pressing coconut oil from copra in terms of the yield of coconut oil produced. Originality/value The proposed methodology is tested through the standard four-bar mechanism taken from literature and also applied to the existing cleaning mechanism of the thresher machine. It is observed that the Jaya algorithm is computationally more efficient than the GA. The dynamic analysis of the proposed mechanism is simulated using ADAMS software.

Production of extra-early cling peach varieties in California typically results in a $988 per hectare loss for Sacramento Valley growers, based on a 2004 University of California cost analysis study. This net loss is due to a number of factors, including lower yields than late-harvested peaches; and pruning, thinning, and harvest labor. The estimated cost per hectare to hand-thin extra-early varieties is $1515, which is 31% of all cultural costs. A conservative estimate for machine thinning with transportation costs would be $136 per hectare, a cost savings of about 90%. Machine thinning operates at about 200 trees per hour with two persons (operator and supervisor), compared to four to six trees per hour with two hand-thinners. In recent years, equipment to mechanically thin and harvest has become more sophisticated. We evaluated different types of equipment and settings in two experimental orchards trained in two pruning systems in 2005. We compared effects of crop load and variability in fruit development at time of shaking, as well as the timing of shaking with respect to fruit growth after bloom and compared mechanical and hand thinning. We found an optimum “window” for mechanical thinning based on fruit size and crop load, with tree architecture less important than these factors. Machine-thinning with follow-up hand-thinning reduced the thinning time by 30% to 41%. When machine thinning without follow-up hand-thinning was compared to hand-thinning alone, total yield was improved by 22% and salable yield was improved by 18% in the machine-thinned trees. The net increase in undersized yield in the machine-thinned only treatment was less than 6%.

This study considered the effects of needle penetrating force, needle thread tightening tension, and pressing force of the presser foot on torque produced in the arm shaft of an industrial sewing machine. The results obtained are as follows. (1) Penetrating force, especially the initial triangular wave fluctuation, induces noticeable transient vibration in torque. (2) The penetrating force is considerably more transient than the pressing force. The time ratio of the duration of the penetrating force to the natural period of the motion system is close to 1. (3) Consequently, when estimating torque, it is necessary that the arm shaft of the thread take-up lever and needle bar mechanism motion system be considered as elastic. On the other hand, the arm shaft of the feed mechanism motion system can be treated as a rigid body.

At present, cam connecting rod type mechanical clutch mechanism has been used by most of the domestic offset printing machine and its mechanical structure is very complex and its reliability is very poor. So a new type of pneumatic clutch mechanism is designed to meet its technological requirements. For the new mechanism, the motion law of the blanket cylinder can be calculated in the pressing process by complex number vector method and the finite element model has been established, natural frequency, maximum amplitude and mode of vibration of the cylinder can be calculated based on Block Lanczos method. The analysis results show that the relationship between the cylinders is flexible impact at the pressing instant, positioning is accurate, stable and reliable, which meets flexible design requirements. Thus it is important significance to improve design level and the product quality of the domestic printing machine and shorten the gap with foreign advanced printing machine.

The purpose of this research was to determine the optimal geometry of a variable pitch conical helicoid to be used in a pressing machine for grape pomace, also known as grape marc. This study attempted to understand if the optimized geometry of the considered helicoid after every pitch resulted in volume decrease DVc, equal to that obtained during the pressing phase of grape pomace DVp, using an optimized membrane press. The conical helicoid with variable pitch was replaced in a machine that offered continuous pressing of grape pomace using a cylindrical helicoid with constant pitch (constant pressure distribution, not optimized, along the cochlea axis). As this was a machine already available in the market, the overall dimensions were already established—5.95 m in length and 1.5 m in width. The pressure distribution p1 and volume change DVp, obtained during the grape pomace pressing phase in the optimized membrane press (producing high-quality wine) was taken into consideration in this research. Furthermore, the optimized pressure distribution p1 was applied in seven phases during the pressing process, and a consequent volume change value DVp was obtained for each phase. Therefore, this study determined the geometry of the variable pitch conical helicoid, which, after every pitch, resulted in volume changing DVc that was similar to the volume changing DVp obtained by the optimized membrane press. For this scope, calculations were realized using the Mathematica 10 program code, which, on being assigned the overall dimensions, slope angle of the helicoid, and volume for the first pitch value, determined the radius and pitch values of the helicoid, total volume, and volume change DVc. It was also noted that by appropriately varying the geometric parameters (taper and pitch of the helicoid), different options of pressure distribution on grape pomace can be obtained, thus enabling improvement and optimization of product quality.

Recently, the usage of animal horn in Indonesia as a hand craft has a great attention especially for a dirk handycrafter. The shortage of such horn as raw material becomes a problem for the horn and dirk handycrafter. Implication of that is a gap between demand and supply in the market. To over come this condition, we design two machines-milling machine and pressing machine- that changing the scrap of horn processing into a useable raw material. The idea is converted the waste by using milling and pressing process.The result not only profitable for the horn handy-crafter, it also gives benefition solution for the green production process by making a better environment

Research objective is to address an up to date task of developing the technology of associated gold recovery from complex ore. Object of research is the gold-bearing copper-pyrite ore. Gold was recovered in laboratory conditions with the use of gravity methods of mineral separation. Research tools. Rational modes of machinery operation have been determined through mathematical planning of experiments including the obtained results processing by mathematical and statistical methods. Methods of research. Gold was recovered in the grinding-classification circuit based on a seriesinstalled short-cone hydrocyclone, a jigging machine and a shaking table. Research results. The developed jig mode differs from the existing ones by the closed-circuit of jig machine chambers: from the feed of the second (in the direction of the light fraction travel) jig chamber, the light fraction (tailings) and undersize product – fraction with the increased content of accessory minerals (rough concentrate) are separated. The rough concentrate in the second chamber is directed to the first chamber of the machine, where the finished jig concentrate is obtained in the form of an undersize product. The light fraction moves from the first chamber to the second and is removed from the machine through the tail board. When fine-tuning the heavy fraction of jigging on a shaking table, it is recommended to mix 1/2 part of the initial feed of the tables with the rough concentrate isolated from the other 1/2 of the original feed. The new jigging mode and the scheme of concentration on the tables provide an increase in the gold content in the initial feed of the apparatus, which is the reason for a decrease in gold losses with the tails of the gravity circuit. Research relevance. Gold recovery increment by 4.77% was obtained due to the use of all three recommended scientific and technical measures, namely sands concentration in a short head cone crusher on a jig, switching the jig chambers to a closed circuit, and jet motion of concentrates on shaking tables. Scope of the results. The results should be applied when concentrating ore containing free (amalgamable) gold, as well as gold-bearing pyrite.

The process of pipe bending finds its importance in many industries, instruments, fluids transportation etc. The aim of this research is to design and fabricate a hydraulic jack-based pipe bending machine which has ability to bend pipes used at gas supply industry, while keeping in mind the requirements of a good pipe bending machine to provide high quality bends without defects but at the cost lesser than the existing pipe bending machines available in the marketplace. The fabricated pipe bending machine works on the principle of press bending method to perform the bending operation. The design of the proposed pipe bending machine is based on essential parameters of bending process such as radius and angle of the bend, diameter and thickness of the pipe. The single acting hydraulic jack of 16000 KG load capacity is used to apply the required pressing force to bend a circular pipe having the outer diameter ranging from ½ inch to 2 inches.

Screw pressing technology provides a pressing process superior to those traditional ones. Screw press has been used in oil extraction with a long history, both for cold and hot pressing of vegetable oil materials. Pressing screw is the core component of screw press, as a very important working part, its strength is a precondition for ensuring normal operation of the whole machine. Considering the complexity and drawbacks of conventional analysis and check methods for pressing screw, a simplified three-dimensional model of which was set up, then finite element analysis was done, thus obtaining its continuous deformation and stress distribution with the results close to those from theoretical calculation. Hence, this method can be applied to rapidly and correctly find those dangerous positions and existing imperfections of its structure, thus providing valuable data to judge its structural rationality before practical manufacture, so as to make further improvements and optimizations for its structural design.
