Abstract: The paper presents the development of a automatic operated compress which encompasses the design, fabrication and performance evaluation of the press. The components parts of the machine were designed using various design equations. The design results were used to select materials for various components. The detailed drawing of the developed machine was done using solid works software. In fabricating the machine, mild steel was used as the locally sourced material. The use of mild steel is due to the fact that its strength, rigidity and machinability falls within the design specifications. Some components of the machine developed include; the frame, working bed, and buttons (on / off ). Some of the bought out parts include: ram assembly, rotaey motor, pressure indicator. Here the automation of a pressing machine using electric rotary motor. Generally, the manual operation of the pressing machine is automated. The main objective is to reduce man power, cost, production time and to increase the quantity and quality of production. The existing system of pressing process are manual controlling of pressing and unloading and the chance of human errors and production time are more. In order to overcome these errors, we have designed this electric rotary machine pressing . The automatic press machines that are incorporated with a electric rotary motor are made for heavy-duty pressing operations. In a heavy-duty pressing operation, the production is bulky and precision is required.

Анотація:
Focusing on low-frequency shaking of the construction machine cab, the article analyzes reasons of the shaking and shows several improved isolator designs to reduce the effect of shaking on drivers’ comfort. Firstly according to previous 4 modes below 26 Hz from the finite element analysis of an excavator cab with 6 cab mounts, reasons for low-frequency shaking are analyzed. Then two improved measures of isolator designs for keeping the shaking small effectively are considered. Static analysis on one silicone-oil-sealed-type rubber mount, which can improve drivers’ comfort effectively according to practical application, is done. Besides, perfect setting approaches of isolators can greatly alleviate the cab shaking, which is confirmed by finite element modal analysis of the excavator cab, the first natural frequency of cab increased to 15.55Hz from 6.91Hz.

Abstract. Rotary forging is an innovative incremental metal forming process, In a rotary forging press with double eccentricity sleeves, the eccentricity of double eccentricity sleeves has significant effects on the movements of swing head. The internal and external eccentricity of the existing rotary forging machine is equal, except circular path, the rotation speed of internal and external eccentric sleeves for the rose curve, spirals curve and straight line is not equal, which will produce the oscillation centrifugal force during the forming process and cause the violent shaking on the machine. The shaking of the machine has an important influence on the life of the equipment parts machining accuracy and surface profile of parts, reducing the production efficiency. This paper proposes a method to reduce shaking by changing eccentricity and studied the influence of unequal eccentricity on the movements of swing head obtained the design relationship of internal and external sleeves eccentricity, which can reduce the shaking in rotary forging press. This study improving the working state of the rotary forging machine and economic benefits.

This article presents an analysis of the causes of a fatigue crack in the guide bar of a pressing device. The detailed analysis included the analysis of a material’s microstructure and its cyclic properties. Direct measurements of the strains during operation allowed the nominal loading process in the critical cross-section of the press subassembly to be obtained. The notch effect of the inner thread of the guide bar was analyzed using a precision FEM (finite element method) model and was followed by the transformation of the nominal loading into the notch root. A methodological approach was formulated based on the analyses made, which lay in the statistical interpretation of the factors leading to an identification of the cause of an early fracture.

An optimization procedure for minimizing the shaking force harmonics of machinery is described. Because of constraints imposed by the specification, optimization is unlikely to make any significant reduction in the fundamental, machine frequency, term of the shaking force. That term, normally the largest, must be substantially reduced by other means for the procedure described here to be cost effective. Earlier work describing methods of reducing the fundamental term are cited. An extrusion press machine incorporating two planar mechanisms, one crank driven and one cam driven, provides an example. Two designs of the cam-driven mechanism, referred to here as cams 1 and 2, are in use in installed extrusion press machines. Harmonic analysis of the shaking force as a function of time shows that cam 2 produces smaller amplitudes of shaking force harmonics. The ten variables used in the optimization process are the amplitudes and angles of the first five terms of a trigonometric series defining the acceleration of a reciprocating mass driven by a hypothetical third cam, cam 3, which is similar to cam 2 but stripped of all harmonics of order higher than the fifth. The objective function is the sum of the amplitudes of the horizontal components of the second to fifth shaking force harmonics on the machine as a consequence of accelerations of the moving parts of both mechanisms. Several equality and inequality constraints must be met. For the extrusion press machine the result is a reduction in the amplitudes that would be created if cam 3 were to be used by approximately 10, 75, 65 and 100 per cent respectively. The improvement over cam 1 is greater. The procedure is particularly suited as a retrofit measure where the number of installed machines is large in relation to the future rate of production of new machines: a cam that has been removed from one machine can be re-cut for use on another machine.

Bamboo is very popular in the countryside of almost all Southeast countries, particularly in Vietnam. Its ability can replace some kinds of wood in decoration and household goods. Bamboo grows up rapidly and can be harvested within 3 to 5 years of planting; in the meanwhile, the harvesting time of other hardwood trees must be from 8 to 10 years or longer. The inherent characteristics of bamboo are lighter than other wood materials and have a value in social and environmental benefits. Its advances in manufacturing technology have created high-value products such as bamboo flooring and bamboo furniture that can substitute for wood flooring and wood furniture. Bamboo plywood presses play an important role in the production of bamboo plywood in the industry. The machine has the function of pressing bamboo powder, and binder has been mixed from the front to the bamboo plank to meet the technical requirements. This article presents a design of bamboo plywood pressing machine that combines the heating function for the blocking board and keeps that temperature during the pressing process to create a suitable size bamboo plywood according to customer requirements. The simulation results show that the complete bamboo plywood-pressing machine is appropriate and authentic to the initial design. The result of the design was applied to manufacture the machine in DCSELAB workshop via a collaboration project between Langtre PhuAn company and the DCSELAB. The system is installed a resistance flat plate capacity of 1KW, and 2 resistors flat plate with the capacity of 0.8KW. The first manufactured machine is now in the initial working session in Langtre Villige, Binh Duong province. The initial experimental products were accepted by the partner company, and we have recommended some measures to ameliorate time by time the quality as well as the productivity of the machine. There is really not yet an official statistic on the comparison with the products of a similar machine, and we are attending the response of the customers.

Abstract. The shaking functionality of different types of shaking tines for citrus canopy shakers was evaluated. Shaking responses were simulated using ANSYS/LS-DYNA, and a tractor-mounted experimental shaking machine developed for conducting field trials. Straight nylon, bent nylon, straight PVC, and straight steel tines were used as shaking rods and, in experiments, accelerometers placed at branches and fruit to detect vibrational acceleration. Simulation results indicated that tine materials affected the vibrational response of trees and the acceleration peaks of branches and limbs exerted by a steel tine were ~2.0 times as high as exerted by a nylon tine. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrated that the tine bending stiffness had a positive effect on the generated acceleration. Tree injuries caused by a straight nylon tine were much less than by other tines. The results suggested that a shaking tine should have high stiffness, but its surface should be soft. These simulation and experiment methods can be used for improving canopy shaker applications. Keywords: Citrus harvest, Canopy shaking, Shaking functionality, Trial.

The ability to reliably connect electrical cables is important in many applications. A poor connection can become a fire hazard, so it is important that cables are always appropriately connected. This thesis investigates methods for monitoring of a machine that presses cable connectors onto cables. Using sensor data from the machine, would it be possible to create an algorithm that can automatically identify the cable and connector and thus make decisions on how a connector should be pressed for successful attachment? Furthermore, would it be possible to create an anomaly detection algorithm that is able to detect whether a connector has been incorrectly pressed by the end user? If these two questions can be addressed, the solutions would minimise the likelihood of errors, and enable detection of errors that anyway do arise. In this thesis, it is shown that the k-Nearest Neighbour (kNN) algorithm and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network are both successful in classification of connectors and cables, both performing with 100% accuracy on the test set. The LSTM is the more promising alternative in terms of convergence and speed, being 28 times faster as well as requiring less memory. The distance-based methods and an autoencoder are investigated for the anomaly detection task. Data corresponding to a wide variety of possible incorrect kinds of usage of the tool were collected. The best anomaly detector detects 92% of incorrect cases of varying degrees of difficulty, a number which was higher than expected. On the tasks investigated, the performance of the neural networks are equal to or higher than the performance of the alternative methods.

The aim of this thesis work is to design and manufacture a Dissimilar Channel Angular Pressing (DCAP) system for severe plastic deformation of aluminum alloy sheets in order to obtain ultra-fine grained structure. First, a DCAP system was designed by Finite Element Analysis and constructed after various optimization trials. Next, 6061-T0 aluminum alloy plates were severely deformed by various DCAP passes through the system. The samples were characterized by metallography, X-ray diffraction, tension and hardness tests. It has been observed that the yield strength was improved about 100 % after 2 DCAP passes, and 45 nm sub-grain size was obtained.

The diploma thesis deals with the design of pressing machines for manifold assembly of condensers in the car air-conditioning unit. The problem of the current assembling process is its inefficiency. Semi-automated assembly using pneumatic pressing machines eliminates this problem. In the theoretical part the air-conditioning components, current state of assembly and calculating base of pressing are described. In the practical part the test of pressing force was conducted. Based on this test, the design of four pneumatic pressing machines was accomplished. In the final part of the work, evaluation of the whole project is provided.

В даній кваліфікаційній роботі автоматизовано технологічний процес пресування керамічної та бетонної плитки. Описано технологічні процеси виготовлення бетонних виробів, а також конструкцію складових частин напівавтомата що реалізує ці процеси. Зокрема розроблено креслення автоматизованої установки для вібпропресування плитки, описано роботу її складових частин, монтаж, регулювання, налагодження і пуск, а також розроблено дозатор для точного дозування сипучих матеріалів. Розраховано дозатор, обмотку магнітопроводу віброзбудників, блок живлення, стабілізатор напруги, випрямляч мостової схеми. Розроблена у кваліфікаційній роботі установка дозволяє виготовляти плитку з глини, бетону, гіпсового каменю та інших будівельних матеріалів методом імпульсного пресування.
In this qualification work the technological process of pressing ceramic and concrete tiles is automated. Technological processes of production of concrete products, and also a design of components of the semiautomatic device realizing these processes are described. In particular, the drawing of the automated installation for vibropressing of a tile is developed, the work of its components, installation, adjustment, adjustment and start-up is described, and also the batcher for exact dosing of loose materials is developed. The batcher, the winding of the magnetic circuit of the vibrators, the power supply, the voltage stabilizer, the rectifier of the bridge circuit are calculated. The installation developed in qualification work allows to make a tile from clay, concrete, gypsum stone and other building materials by a method of pulse pressing.

Актуальність теми. Розширення сировинної бази целюлозно-паперової галузі України за рахунок використання целюлози з відходів сільського господарства. Виробництво сигаретного паперу та забезпечення стабільності його якості шляхом використання новітніх досягнень в паперовому виробництві та сучасних технологій одержання целюлози. Мета і задачі дослідження. Метою дисертаційної роботи є вивчення особливостей сигаретного паперу та вдосконалення технології його виробництва для підвищення якості продукції. Для досягнення вказаної мети було поставлено наступні задачі: - ознайомлення з властивостями сигаретного паперу; - одержати солом'яну целюлозу окисно-органосольвентним способом делігніфікації та дослідити її паперотворні властивості; - вдосконалити технологічний процес виробництва сигаретного паперу; - вибрати і розрахувати основне технологічне обладнання. - провести аналіз потенціалу даної роботи до використання у стартапі. Об’єкт дослідження: процеси одержання соломяної целюлози та виготовлення сигаретного паперу. Предмет дослідження: технологічні параметри процесу делігніфікації січки пшеничної соломи, параметри процесів формування, пресування, проклеювання і сушіння паперового полотна. Методи дослідження: для визначення впливу технологічних параметрів одержання целюлози використовували хімічні, фізико-хімічні та фізико-механічні методи аналізу. Обгрунтування іноваційних рішень в технологічному потоці базувалося на теоретичних методах аналізу. Практичне значення одержаних результатів: запропонований технологічний потік з виробництва виробництва сигаретного паперу з використанням соломяної целюлози дозволить покращити якість готової продукції та зменшити її собівартість. Theme actuality. Expansion of the raw material base of the pulp and paper industry of Ukraine due to the use of pulp from agricultural waste. Production of cigarette paper and ensuring the stability of its quality through the use of the latest advances in paper production and modern technologies for pulp production. The purpose and objectives of the study. The purpose of the dissertation is to study the features of cigarette paper and improve the technology of its production to improve product quality. To achieve the goal, you need to solve the following tasks: - acquaintance with the properties of cigarette paper; - to obtain straw cellulose by oxidative-organosolvent method of delignification and to investigate its paper-forming properties; - to improve the technological process of cigarette paper production; - select and calculate the main technological equipment. - to analyze the potential of this work for use in startups. Object of study: the process of making document paper. Subject of study: processes of production of straw cellulose and production of cigarette paper. Methods of study: technological parameters of the process of delignification of wheat straw chips, parameters of the processes of forming, pressing, gluing and drying of paper web. Abstract This study armed to develop a chemical scrubbing process to treat an emitted odorous gas stream from a corn-germ oil-pressing machine. Analytical results demonstrated that the gas contains a total VOC (volatile organic compound) concentration of 323 to 2,100 ppm calibrated as methane. Major VOC ingredients are aldehydes, organic acids, and mercaptans. Ozone, sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) were used as oxidants for VOCs other than aldehydes and sodium bisulfite (NaHSO3) was used as a reductant for aldehydes. Experimental setup used in this study consisted of a set of four-stage-in-series scrubbers for VOC oxidation and a set of 18-L bubble column for aldehyde reduction. Each stage of the scrubber was constructed from a 25-cm x 140-cm (OD x H) plastic column packed with 2”-diameter plastic packings to a height of 90 cm. Experiment results showed that suitable conditions for the VOC and odor removal in the oxidation tower are: (1) QL/QG (flowrate ratio of circulating liquid and gas) = 0.0024-0.0035 m3 liquid/m3 gas, (2) dose rate of NaOCl solution (10 % effective chlorine) = 0.0125-0.015 L/m3 gas, (3) pH of the circulating liquid = 7.5-8.0, and (4) supplemental water flowrate = 2.4-5.0 L/m3 gas. Those for the reduction of the residual aldehydes and other odorous compounds are: (1) concentration of NaHSO3 scrubbering solution = 2,156 mg/L as SO2 and (2) pH of the NaHSO3 solution = 5.0-6.0. Under the conditions, experimental data demonstrated that the process could reduce H2S from 0-5.5 to 0 ppm, NH3 from 0.1-0.4 to 0-0.1 ppm, phenols from 0-2.0 to 0 ppm, acids from 15-25 to 0 ppm, acetaldehyde from 10-34 to 0-10 ppm, amines from 0.1 to 0.1 ppm, and mercaptans from 0.5-10.5 ppm to 0 ppm. Overall VOC removal efficacy was 85-100 %. Effluent gas from the oxidation stage had a chlorine smell, while that from the reduction one was odorless. Based on the results from the pilot study, a full-scale plant with a waste gas flow rate 105 m3/min was proposed. It was estimated that the full-scale plant has an equipment cost of US$ 45,000, and an operating cost of around US$ 110/(8-hr day) or US$ 0.75/(1,000 m3 waste gas).

Constant headlines about deportations, detention camps, and border walls drive urgent debates about immigration and what it means to be an American in the twenty-first century. This book traces the long and troubling history of the U.S. government's systematic efforts to terrorize and expel immigrants over the past 140 years. The book provides needed historical perspective on one of the most pressing social and political issues of our time. It examines how federal, state, and local officials have targeted various groups for expulsion, from Chinese and Europeans at the turn of the twentieth century to Central Americans and Muslims today. It reveals how authorities have singled out Mexicans, nine out of ten of all deportees, and removed most of them not by orders of immigration judges but through coercive administrative procedures and calculated fear campaigns. The book uncovers the machine's three primary mechanisms—formal deportations, “voluntary” departures, and self-deportations—and examines how public officials have used them to purge immigrants from the country and exert control over those who remain. Exposing the pervasive roots of anti-immigrant sentiment in the United States, the book introduces the politicians, bureaucrats, businesspeople, and ordinary citizens who have pushed for and profited from expulsion. Chapter 17 examines the Anti-Saloon League’s pivot to pressing for the Eighteenth (Prohibition) Amendment. In 1912 former president Theodore Roosevelt ran as a third-party Progressive against his handpicked Republican successor, William Howard Taft, as Taft had undermined Roosevelt’s signature Pure Food and Drug Act, which included purity standards on alcohol. The electoral split gave the presidency to Democrat Woodrow Wilson, who was agnostic toward prohibition. World War I and the accompanying “cult of military sobriety” strengthened prohibitionist sentiment, while the election of 1916 secured the legislative supermajorities needed for a prohibition amendment. Once passed in December 1917, the amendment was ratified with unprecedented speed by January 1919, to come into effect one year later. In the meantime, drys pushed for a “wartime prohibition” until demobilization was complete. With prohibition in America secured, activists looked abroad through the World League Against Alcoholism (WLAA) and its chief emissary, Pussyfoot Johnson.

In the present chapter the most recent and successful experiences in the application of machine vision-based techniques to structural analysis with main focus on seismic testing by shaking table are described and discussed. In particular, the potentialities provided by 3D motion capture methodologies and, more recently, by motion magnification analysis (MMA) emerged as interesting integrations, if not alternatives, to more conventional and consolidated measurement systems in this field. Some examples of laboratory applications are illustrated with the aim of providing evidence and details on the practical potentialities and limits of these methodologies for vibration motion acquisition, as well as on data processing and analysis.

Abstract This study considered the effects of needle penetrating force, needle thread tightening tension, and pressing force of the presser foot on torque produced in the arm shaft of an industrial sewing machine. The results obtained are as follows. (1) Penetrating force, especially the initial triangular wave fluctuation, induces noticeable transient vibration in torque. (2) The torsional natural frequency of the arm shaft of the feed mechanism motion system is more than twice that of the thread take-up lever and needle bar mechanism motion system. Penetrating force, according to the relations with the natural period of the system, is considerably more transient than pressing force. (3) Consequently, when estimating torque, it is necessary that the arm shaft of the thread take-up lever and needle bar mechanism motion system be considered as elastic. On the other hand, the arm shaft of the feed mechanism motion system can be treated as a rigid body.
