The class of Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs) represents one of the most fast-growing treatments in oncology therapeutics, enabling the use of highly cytotoxic compounds covalently linked to a monoclonal antibody (mAb) which can selectively get attached to an antigen expressed on the surface of the cancer cell, assuring the precision of this therapy. The linker motif, connecting the mAb to the drug, is key to dictate the modality of the drug’s release as for the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic of the whole conjugate. However, the development of a novel linker is a costly and time-consuming process, in which the ideal motif has to assure both the stability in blood circulation and a fast kinetic in the release of the warhead inside the cancer cell. The work here described aims at addressing the limitations present in this field in two different ways: first by introducing a novel acid sensitive cleavable linker with excellent extracellular stability and selective cleavability in the cancer cell; secondly, embracing a linker-less approach, by introducing a new format of ADC, coined Self Drugged Antibody (SDA), in which the drug is built on the mAb through a Ugi multicomponent reaction

Microcystins and okadaic acid are toxins produced by cyanobacteria and dinoflagellates. These toxins set a major health problem. They occur all over the world, in tanks, lakes, rivers or seas. The ingestion of such compounds provocates gastro-intestinal troubles and liver injury, that can lead to death. Their detection appears like a main challenge. The WHO fixed a standard of detection at 1µg/L in drinkable water. One way to detect these toxins is the inhibition of protein phosphatases. We thus decided to engineer a biosensor using proteins phosphatases for an easy and fast detection of these toxins. This requires a sufficient amount of active and phosphatases sensitive to the different toxins

The toponymic mediation is one of the systems of relationships, which compose an inhabited land, here Quebec and Acadia of New Brunswick. Three main linguistic stems have influenced the construction of places : the autochthonous one, the French one and the English one. Denomination in relationship with property and socializing, belonging and event, direct experience and honours make the names resound with the earth. The place names offer an inheritance to live with and transmit. Body, heart and mind nourish an affective and sensitive toponymy, which relies on visions and perceptions of the environment. It expresses itself through anthroponymy (possessive and honorary) and through cultural consecration ; it influences the dynamics of changing names. An illustration of that is the debate on identity in the context of municipal mergers in Quebec. The specifically semantic dimension of affective and sensitive toponymy establishes three great thematic categories : imprints of possession and identity, senses and sensations, atmospheres and feelings. Regional profiles appear in Quebec and profiles of counties in Acadia of New Brunswick : it outlines a toponymy of happiness and sorrow. Very contrasted toponymic types stand out from this comparison between Quebec and Acadia of New Brunswick ; they testify to the respective political history of both regions and to the role of institutional authorities
