Повний текст джерелаThe PhD work is in the field of Neutrino Physics as a part of the T2K experiment. The thesis is divided into two subjects- detector characterization and preparation of physics analysis. In the context of the upgrade of T2K near detector- ND280, a model was developed and utilized to characterize the charge spreading in novel resistive Micromegas (ERAM) detector. In addition, pad-by-pad gain and energy resolution was obtained for each ERAM for a complete characterization. The results directly led to the selection of specific ERAMs for installation at specific positions in the High Angle-Time Projection Chamber anode planes for charge readout. In total, 37 ERAMs were successfully characterized using X-ray data from a test bench at CERN. This information was also used as inputs for reconstruction. Improvement in statistics and detection efficiency of charged-current quasi-elastic events in high Q² (4-momentum transfer) region after the ND280 upgrade was studied. The question of- how effectively the high Q² uncertainties will be constrained after the ND280 upgrade by the 4 high Q² parameters in the neutrino-nucleus cross-section model was addressed using T2K re-weighting tools and the ND280 fitter- GUNDAM. An important source of the high Q² uncertainties is the axial-vector form factor model (dipole) used currently in the cross-section model. Some alternative form factor models that can better constrain these uncertainties were also studied. The effect of uncertainties in nucleon removal energy estimation on different variables (muon kinematics, neutrino energy, etc.) was studied. Binned splines were produced for the 4 removal energy parameters in the cross-section model in the context of Oscillation Analysis using data collected in 2024

Повний текст джерелаThe environment of very preterm infant (VPI) greatly differs from intrauterine environment and contributes to his risk of altered neurodevelopment. Little is known about the visual sensitivity of VPI. It is evaluated through their physiological and behavioural responsiveness and cortical haemodynamic responses to visual stimuli. As shown by their physiological and behavioural responses, moderate light level variation can induce a VPI’s response and could alter its well-being, especially when light protection is insufficient. Cortical integration of visual stimuli maturates from 32 weeks post menstrual age to term. At term corrected age, differences in responses between VPI and term newborn suggest that postnatal experience can alter the developmental pathway of the visual function. Based on these results, VPI’s visual environment must be adjusted to the expectations and sensory capabilities of preterm infants

Повний текст джерелаThe environment (E) of very preterm infant (VPI) greatly differs from the uterine E and contributes to his risk of altered neurodevelopment. Although auditory stimuli are prominent and atypical in the NICU, little is known about the auditory sensitivity of VPI to his acoustic E. It is evaluated through their physiological, behavioral, and brain (NIRS) responsiveness to auditory environmental changes. An observational study shows that i) VPIs respond to “naturalistic” auditory stimuli from a minimum signal-to-noise ratio threshold of 5-10 dBA, ii) some stimuli can affect their well-being (desaturation, sleep disruption), iii) their autonomic reactivity is the most sensitive. Their reactivity varies depending on the sound sources, suggesting an ability to discriminate vocal from non vocal sounds. An experimental approach assess other aspects of their auditory performance (impact of sound frequency, emotional valence of voices) and their maturation from 30-32 to 34-36 wks post-menstrual age. Their perceptual field of sound frequencies expands for pure tones from the middle frequencies (500-2500 Hz) to low and high frequencies (100 and 4500 Hz). After 34 wks, VPIs discriminate their mother's voice from that of another mother and of another woman (emotionally neutral). This preferential reactivity relies on a "cardiac orienting reflex" suggesting that VPI not exposed for weeks to their mother’s voice in utero, can develop perceptual abilities similar to those of the fetuses continuously exposed to the prosody of their mother’s voice. They open ways for further research on the long-term consequences of early auditory experience (attachment, language and emotions development)

Повний текст джерелаThe concept of the business ecosystem, introduced by James Moore from 1993, and Industry 4.0, which emerged in Germany in 2011, together form a phenomenon that has not yet been fully explored. These ecosystems are multidimensional, as heterogeneous elements connect to form complex sets that are difficult to analyze, and we have not identified any tools for studying them without an a priori model. To overcome this gap, we propose a modeling and analysis method using digital traces of the phenomenon to generate a simplicial complex. This method mainly uses Atkin's Q-analysis, which we have modernized by developing a graph version of the Q-analysis algorithm and pushing back the limits we have identified. The whole process is automated within the Hype calculation application. The main advantage of Q-analysis is its ability to calculate similarity between heterogeneous elements, with respect to dimensions that differ from one another, and without knowing the model of the phenomenon. We use Q-analysis to obtain business ecosystems candidates related to Industry 4.0 in the Grand Est region whose final objective is to help analysts understand how an ecosystem emerges or disappears, and thus facilitate their creation around specific topics. Thanks to a database that we have built up from the digital data, we have obtained encouraging preliminary results despite the poor quality of the dataset. We believe that by improving the quality of the data with richer dimensions, we will obtain even more convincing results

Different effects affecting jet reconstruction have been studied at generator and full simulation of the detector level. After correction di-b-jet, mass resolution is sigma/mean = 22%. B-jet identification procedure has been set up, selecting ~80% of b- jets while rejecting ~99. 5% of other jets. After reducing the bbbar + l physical background, a statistical significance of 1 is obtained for 4 years of data taking at a luminosity of 5. 10^32cm^-2s^-1

Повний текст джерелаPedonculate oak (Q. Robur) and sessile oak (Q. Petraea) differ by their ecological requirements. In particular Q. Robur displays a larger tolerance to water-logging than Q. Petraea. Inter-specific differences were found in the response to water-logging at root metabolism level, with differences in pyruvate decarboxylase (transcripts and activity), key enzyme in the alcoholic fermentation pathway. Moreover, the long term maintenance of the enzymes of sucrose catabolism, should underline a lower carbon unloading in hypoxic roots of Q. Petraea than in Q. Robur. The larger capacity of Q. Robur to produce adventitious roots and hypertrophied lenticels was confirmed. These organs were shown to be related to the degree of water-logging tolerance of the species, despite they do not seem to be involved in root aeration. In addition, the degree of leaf epinasty was demonstrated to be an early symptom of plant sensitivity to the stress. QTL were identified for hypertrophied lenticels formation and for the degree of epinasty in Q. Robur. The use of a multi-environment model allowed to record the temporal evolution of the allelic substitution effect of some of the QTL detected, and evidenced that the response to water-logging probably involves a large number of genes induced simultaneously over the whole genome. The intra-specific variability of response to water-logging suggests that the higher tolerance of Q. Robur would be due to an higher variability resulting in an higher frequency of tolerant seedlings, compared to Q. Petraea, in spite of a common genetic background for the two species, and not to different specific traits

Повний текст джерелаLHCb has been designed in order to perform precise measurements of CP violation and rare decays with B mesons. At the LHC start-up, one of the first tasks will be to check the expected apparatus performances. This thesis looks to the first recorded data by the LHCb experiment for two of the subjects developed : the photon reconstruction in the electromagnetic calorimeter assuming different experimental situations, and the calibration of the calorimeter. A photon identification tool is developed based on a Fisher discriminant method using information from all the calorimeter sub-detectors (SPD, PS, ECAL, and HCAL). The reconstructed photons are used for π° mass reconstruction parameters, able to evaluate the overall calibration level. For individual cell calibration, the constraint from the reconstructed π° mass is used. A 1 % calibration can be achieved even starting from a 30 % spread cell to cell calibration within a few tenth hours at the LHCb nomina luminosity. Two physics channels, for which the calorimeter calibration and neutral mesons decaying into photon pair reconstruction are key points, are studied. The channel Bd° → J/Ψπ° to measure βeff angle, where unexpected contributions beyond the standard model may occur and the channel Bs° → J/ψη measures the βs angle has been studied
