Повний текст джерелаThe installation effect of piles driven in sand, which increases soill density, strength and deformability parameters, is analyzed in this research, together with the pile-group effect. The procedure has been established aiming at the soil improvement achieved after installation of the piles. The proposed procedure is based on Alves (1998). In order to apply the procedure, correlations between the soil Young modulus and the NSPT blow count (or the normalized N60) have been established from a database obtained in the literature, aiming not only at the applications implemented in this study but also as a guideline for future practical applications. The program Plaxis 3D Foundation has been used in the analysis of documented cases from the literature, as an initial step to implement the procedure proposed in this thesis. Initially, the program has been calibrated by application to a well-documented piling group in the London stiff clay by Cooke et al. (1980). The results of the numerical simulations with soil parameters obtained from the literature have been very close to the experimental values, not only for the settlements, but also for the load transfer diagrams. The soil improvement due to pile installation has been implemented in this thesis based on Alves (1998). It has been applied to a case of small-scale model piling group in sands, taking into consideration the initial characteristics of the soil before installation and the soil improvement after driving. The updated parameters, together with different pile spacing in the 9-pile group, have been entered as input in the program Plaxis 3D Foundation. The comparison of the experimental results with those numerically simulated shows the potentiality of Plaxis program, due to its ability to properly reproduce the piling group behavior, and also of the model by Alves (1998), which guided the soil improvement procedure proposed in this research. The scale factor, highlighted in the thesis, as well as other relevant factors observed in the analyses, are topics for further investigation in continuity of this research.

In terms of linguistics policy, studies were carried out on languages and language for setting up different structures to promote a smooth and efficient bilingualism between French and Sango. In terms of educational policy, this study has the merit of laying the foundation of the principles of conceptualized language teaching through guidelines that can be used in rebuilding the Central African school, the training of French teachers, the pluralistic approach to languages and cultures, the diversification of educational materials and the assessment of learning. Beyond these contributions that will help in reviewing French curricula, the thesis opens avenues for research on the evaluation of educational institutions, the drafting of teaching curricula and the setup of a legal framework for the appropriation of languages, including French, a teaching matter and medium

Повний текст джерелаThe Bunger Hills and adjacent areas of Wilkes Land and Queen Mary Land occupy the very western periphery of the Musgrave–Albany–Fraser Orogen, and represent one of the few exposures within east Antarctica with direct correlations to Australian constituent terrains of this continental-scale system. U–Pb analyses of detrital zircons from volcano–sedimentary moraine sediments of the Bunger Hills yield concordant 206Pb/238U ages ranging from ca. 1364 Ma to ca. 1040 Ma (n = 842), with a main late Mesoproterozoic magmatic zircon population clustered at ca. 1179–1161 Ma. Strong parallels with the time profile of in-situ rocks from the Stage 2 Albany–Fraser Orogen (AFO), the Bunger Hills and Windmill Islands, suggest these were the likely provenances for the associated moraine detritus. The Bunger Hills lie downstream from outcrops of the geographically inaccessible Sandow Group, which comprises clastic and mafic volcanoclastic rocks. It is interpreted that the sedimentary moraine materials of the Bunger Hills were derived from the glacial erosion of the Sandow Group supracrustal successions. The lithological character, sedimentary fill pattern and advanced diagenesis suggest that the Sandow Group formed within an active intra-continental rift-basin and represents the upper-crustal expression of extensional tectonism. Reconnaissance U–Pb geochronology of authigenic titanite suggests basin development occurred close to or within the time frame of the high-grade metamorphism recorded in the Bunger Hills. Therefore basin development was probably directly associated with the second major thermo–tectonic phase of the AFO (Stage 2; ca. 1215–1140 Ma). Due to the essentially non-metamorphosed volcano–sedimentary nature of the detritus in the sedimentary rocks, it seems likely that the evolving Mesoproterozoic orogenic system was not deeply exhumed during basin development.
