AbstractWell-preserved microfossils occur in abundance through more than 1000 m of lower Mesoproterozoic siliciclastic rocks composing the Roper Group, Northern Territory, Australia. The Roper assemblage includes 34 taxa, five interpreted unambiguously as eukaryotes, nine as possible eukaryotes (includingBlastanosphaira kokkodanew genus and new species, a budding spheromorph with thin chagrinate walls), eight as possible or probable cyanobacteria, and 12 incertae sedis. Taxonomic richness is highest in inshore facies, and populations interpreted as unambiguous or probable eukaryotes occur most abundantly in coastal and proximal shelf shales. Phylogenetic placement within the Eukarya is difficult, and molecular clock estimates suggest that preserved microfossils may belong, in part orin toto, to stem group eukaryotes (forms that diverged before the last common ancestor of extant eukaryotes, or LECA) or stem lineages within major clades of the eukaryotic crown group (after LECA). Despite this, Roper fossils provide direct or inferential evidence for many basic features of eukaryotic biology, including a dynamic cytoskeleton and membrane system that enabled cells to change shape, life cycles that include resting cysts coated by decay-resistant biopolymers, reproduction by budding and binary division, osmotrophy, and simple multicellularity. The diversity, environmental range, and ecological importance of eukaryotes, however, were lower than in later Neoproterozoic and Phanerozoic ecosystems.

The stratigraphy of the Proterozoic in the McArthur River area of Northern Territory consists of the basal, non-economic Tawallah Group, overlain unconformably by dolomitic carbonates and clastics of the McArthur Group, in turn overlain disconformably by Roper Group clastics. Several shows of tarry to brittle bitumen have been reported in sandstones of the Roper Group and in dolomites of the McArthur Group.In thin sections, the bitumen commonly displays shrinkage cracks, apparently associated with the loss of volatiles. Secondary minerals are observed infilling some of the cracks, indicating those phases of diagenesis which occurred subsequent to breaching of the hydrocarbon bearing reservoir. Additionally, the contact relationships of bitumen with the secondary minerals indicate a relatively early migration of hydrocarbons into the reservoir rocks.The inferred sequence for the McArthur Group dolomites is: early dolomitization and silicification, formation of vuggy (vadose) porosity, authigenic deposition of chalcedony at shallow burial depth, cementation by quartz at deep burial depth, migration of hydrocarbons (contemporaneous with sulphide formation), breaching of the reservoir, degradation of hydrocarbons, and deposition of sparry dolomite cement. The inferred sequence of diagenesis for Roper Group clastic reservoirs in this area is: authigenic deposition of minor quartz and illite cement, migration of hydrocarbon, breaching of the reservoir, major authigenic deposition of quartz and illite, degradation of hydrocarbon, and cementation by dolomite, hematite, and kaolinite.

Abstract Persistently low atmospheric oxygen requires that net organic carbon burial was muted through much of Earth’s middle age. In order to achieve global mass balance with respect to O2, recent models have suggested that redox-dependent mechanisms, such as Fe(II)-phosphate precipitation, limited phosphate availability in dominantly anoxic and ferruginous oceans, in turn limiting net primary production, and therefore organic carbon burial. Nevertheless, observational constraints on phosphorus cycling in ferruginous Proterozoic systems are rare, leaving these models largely untested. Here, we present high-resolution petrographic and mineralogical data showing that the 1.3 Ga Sherwin Ironstone (Roper Group, Australia) was dominated by syndepositional precipitation of the Fe(II)-silicate minerals greenalite and berthierine, interlaminated with abundant authigenic calcium fluorapatite (CFA). Set in a quantitative geochemical framework, these data reveal that elevated marine SiO2(aq) concentrations facilitated extensive Fe(II)-silicate production, leaving CFA, rather than Fe(II)-phosphate, as the principal inorganic phosphorous sink in shallow-water Roper Group sediments. More broadly, the physical and chemical factors that triggered Fe(II)-silicate and CFA burial in the Roper Seaway highlight semi-restricted basins as important loci of phosphorus removal from the mid-Proterozoic ocean.

Recent exploration studies on the stratigraphic framework, depositional environment and tectonic setting of the Mesoproterozoic Roper Group in the McArthur Basin, have led to an improved understanding of the highly prospective organic-rich shales of the Velkerri and Kyalla Formations. From a review of open-file drill core and well logs, several major regressive–transgressive (R–T) cycles have been identified along with four key facies associations within the Roper Group. The R–T cycles show sedimentary features typical of deposition within a clastic-dominated marine deltaic setting and show marked lateral variation in facies and thicknesses. The lateral thickness variations are particularly noticeable across regional 2D seismic lines. Seismic interpretation and well correlation confirm the extensive and relatively undeformed nature of the Velkerri and Kyalla Formations in the subsurface, they appear thickest in the south-east of the Beetaloo Sub-Basin.

Organic rich shale units ranging up to 350 m in thickness with total organic carbon (TOC) values generally between one and ten per cent are present at several stratigraphic levels in the upper part of the Carpentarian Roper Group. Considerable variation in depositional environment is suggested by large differences in carbon:sulphur ratios and trace metal contents at different stratigraphic levels, but all of the preserved organic matter appears to be algal-sourced and hydrogen-rich. Conventional Rock-Eval pyrolysis indicates that a type I-II kerogen is present throughout.The elemental chemistry of this kerogen, shows a unique chemical evolution pathway on the ternary C:H:ONS diagram which differs from standard pathways followed by younger kerogens, suggesting that the maturation histories of Proterozoic basins may differ significantly from those of younger oil and gas producing basins. Extractable organic matter (EOM) from Roper Group source rocks shows a chemical evolution from polar rich to saturate rich with increasing maturity. Alginite reflectance increases in stepwise fashion through the zone of oil and gas generation, and then increases rapidly at higher levels of maturation. The increase in alginite reflectance with depth or proximity to sill contacts is lognormal.The area explored by Pacific Oil and Gas includes a northern area where the Velkerri Formation is within the zone of peak oil generation and the Kyalla Member is immature, and a southern area, the Beetaloo sub-basin, where the zone of peak oil generation is within the Kyalla Member. Most oil generation within the basin followed significant folding and faulting of the Roper Group.

Exploration over Roper Group outcrop in the McArthur Basin prompted Pacific Oil & Gas to investigate the petroleum potential of the Beetaloo Sub-basin, a 15 000 km2 Proterozoic depression concealed beneath Phanerozoic cover. Since 1989 drilling and seismic has identified a broadly flat-lying sequence with uplifted, eroded margins. A 3 500 m composite Proterozoic section consisting of three sandstone-to-mudstone sequences has been drilled. The lower two sequences comprise conformable units of the Mesoproterozoic upper Roper Group and unconformably overlying them is a previously unknown sequence comprising the informally labelled 'Jamison Sandstone' and 'Hayfield Mudstone', probably of Neoproterozoic age.Organic-rich intervals in the Roper Group mudstones range one to three per cent TOC in the Kyalla Member, and two to seven per cent TOC in the 'Middle' Velkerri Formation. Across most of the sub-basin the oil window lies within the Kyalla Member around 900–1350 m, while the 'Middle' Velkerri Formation is around 2 500 m and well into overmaturity, but may still have potential for gas. Potential reservoirs in the Bessie Creek, Moroak and 'Jamison' Sandstones, and in sandy units within the mudstones, are compromised by diagenesis, but porosities of up to 20 per cent and permeabilities of tens and rarely hundreds of millidarcies have been measured. Encouraging shows were observed in many of these intervals, and small quantities of oil and gas have been recovered in drill stem tests. With only a few targets drilled to date, this frontier area requires more exploration before its hydrocarbon potential can be adequately assessed.

This article tracks how group egotists disavow their hate group identity. Group egotists are individuals born and raised in hate groups. The well-documented exit cases of Megan Phelps-Roper (Westboro Baptist Church) and Derek Black (White Nationalism) prove that hate group indoctrination can be undermined. A predominantly epistemic approach, which focuses on argument and conversational virtues, falls short in capturing the complexity of their apostasies. I turn to pragmatism for conceptual support. Using the work of Richard Rorty and William James, I explain how redemptive relationships and alternative lifeworlds participate in weakening belief-systems, leading to the disavowal of the hate group.

Mature, rich, potential source beds and adjacent potential reservoir beds exist in the Middle Proterozoic sequence (1400-1800 Ma) of the McArthur Basin. The McArthur and Nathan Groups consist mainly of evaporitic and stromatolitic cherty dolostones interbedded with dolomitic siltstone and shale. They were deposited in interfingering marginal marine, lacustrine and fluvial environments. Lacustrine dolomitic siltstones form potential source beds, while potential reservoirs include vuggy brecciated carbonates associated with penecontemporaneous faulting and rare coarse-grained clastics. In contrast, the younger Roper Group consists of quartz arenite, siltstone and shale that occur in more uniform facies deposited in a stable marine setting. Both source and reservoir units are laterally extensive (over 200 km).Five potential source rocks at various stages of maturity have been discovered. Two of these source rocks, the lacustrine Barney Creek Formation in the McArthur Group and the marine Velkerri Formation in the Roper Group, compare favourably in thickness and potential with rich demonstrated source rocks in major oil-producing provinces. There is abundant evidence of migration of hydrocarbons at many stratigraphic levels. The geology and reservoir characteristics of the sediments in combination with the distribution of potential source beds, timing of hydrocarbon generation, evidence for migration and chances of preservation have been used to rank the prospectivity of the various stratigraphic units in different parts of the basin.

Maturation parameters based on aromatic hydrocarbons, and particularly the methyl-phenanthrene index (MPI-1), are powerful indicators which can be used to define the oil window in Proterozoic and Early Palaeozoic petroleum source rocks and to compare maturities and detect migration in very old oils . The conventional vitrinite reflectance yardstick for maturity is not readily translated to these ancient sediments because they predate the evolution of the land plant precursors to vitrinite. While whole-rock geochemical tools such as Rock-Eval and TOC are useful for evaluation of petroleum potential, they can be imprecise when applied to maturity assessments.In this study, we carried out a range of detailed geochemical analyses on McArthur Basin boreholes penetrating the Roper Group source rocks. We determined the depth profiles for hydrocarbon generation based on Rock-Eval analysis of whole-rock, solvent-extracted rock, kerogen elemental H/C ratio and pyrolysis GC. Although we found that Hydrogen Index (HI) and the Tmax parameter were strongly correlated with other maturation indicators, they were not sufficiently sensitive nor were they universally applicable. Maturation measurements based on saturated biomarkers were not useful either because of the low abundance of these compounds in most Roper Group bitumens and oils.

In this paper, we calculate the light and strange baryons spectrum using a new baryon mass formula. For this purpose we have exactly solved the radial Schrödinger equation in six-dimensional Hilbert space under the decatic potential by power series method via a suitable ansatz to the wave function with parameters those existing in the potential function, possibly for the first time. By applying our model, we find a good agreement for the even and odd parity resonances, the excited multiplets up to 3 GeV and the position of the Roper resonances of the nucleon with the spectrum of the particle data group.

This study tests the effect of multilingualism and language contact on consonant perception. Here, we explore the emergence of phonological stratification using two alternative forced-choice (2afc) identification task experiments to test listener perception of stop voicing with contrasting minimal pairs modified along a 10-step continuum. We examine a unique language ecology consisting of three languages spoken in Northern Territory, Australia: Roper Kriol (an English-lexifier creole language), Gurindji (Pama-Nyungan), and Gurindji Kriol (a mixed language derived from Gurindji and Kriol). In addition, this study focuses on three distinct age groups: children (group i, 8>), preteens to middle-aged adults (groupii, 10–58), and older adults (groupiii, 65+). Results reveal that both Kriol and Gurindji Kriol listeners in groupiicontrast the labial series [p] and [b]. Contrarily, while alveolar [t] and velar [k] were consistently identifiable by the majority of participants (74%), their voiced counterparts ([d] and [g]) showed random response patterns by 61% of the participants. Responses to the voiced stimuli from the preteen-adult Kriol group were, however, significantly more consistent than in the Gurindji Kriol group, suggesting Kriol listeners may be further along in acquiring the voicing contrast. Significant results regarding listener exposure to Standard English in both language groups also suggests constant exposure to English maybe a catalyst for setting this change in motion. The more varied responses from the Gurindji, Kriol, and Gurindji Kriol listeners in groupsiiandiii, who have little exposure to English, help support these findings.

Nowadays, climbing game tracks are available for children and for young people and adults. Some of these game tracks are climbing tracks designed as a net. Other ones are climbing groups comprising ropes and similar structures that are suitable for gripping by the hand. There are also game tracks that include both basic game tracks or have different designs while maintaining the fundamental characteristics. However, their common characteristic is that they allow people to try to grasp the rope or net tightly and play or do exercise with an experience close to the natural environment. For this reason, yarns (strings) made of materials such as nylon, polypropylene or polyester are either directly knitted or adhered with chemical adhesives on steel wires. However, during its use, the knitted or adhered yarns (strings) on the steel wire are opened, disorganized or worn. This causes the wires to corrode and / or wear under ambient conditions and thus shorten the life of the ropes. In this study, a solution has been developed to provide a rigid coating of these yarns on the wires. In our study, after the threads were wound on the wires, the steel wires were heated by an electromagnetic induction current and thus, the threads on the steel wires were softened with the effect of the heat. Then, during cooling, the threads harden and partially adhere to each other. Due to this heating process, the temperature was kept under control in order to prevent the properties of the steel wires from deteriorating. After the wires were produced, they were tested with tensile test, hardness and metallographic examination methods, and changes in their properties were controlled.

Abstract Basic opencast mining machines belong to the group of devices used to perform specific technological operations through mining, loading, transport up to the dumping of mining heaps. Machines work in EBD systems (Excavator-Belt-Dumping) and require high reliability. Multi-bucket excavators that require the use of rope systems in order to maintain stability and the possibility of mining at different levels. The paper focuses on issues related to rope work in multi-buckets excavators. On the basis of studies to assess the technical condition of the ropes identifies the causes of damage to ropes these machines. As a result of the research, final conclusions were formulated.

Dispersion analysis of longitudinal deformation pulses in minimum mass ropes of cranes load lifting mechanisms (which satisfy the conditions of equal strength in each specific cross section) is carried out in the article. The phase and group waveform velocities occurring in the ropes of this type are determined. The impulse dispersion by the method of lifting the load "with the pickup"/"from the base" ("from the ground") was investigated using the stationary phase method. Such methods are used in this work as: 1) classic methods of mathematical physics; 2) complex Fourier transform over time; 3) stationary phase method for the calculation of the integral which characterizes the deformations in the remote field during its asymptotic schedule. It is shown that the asymptotic schedule reduces the analysis of stress and deformation wave fields arising in the rope to the using of the Airy function with a complex argument. The sign of this argument is determined by the sign of the third derivative of the frequency by the wave vector for mentioned above fields near stationary points of the group velocity of wave formations (hear, in accordance, the second derivative is equal to zero). It is substantiated that Airy function is responsible for reproducing the nature of perturbations before and after the wave front moving inside the rope system. The phase velocity with which the constant phase plane of the exponential multiplier is carried in the rope is determined. This multiplier the spatial-temporal dependence of the emerging waveform describes. Near the pulse front (load/deformation of the rope), its duration increases, but the amplitude decreases in proportion to the cubic root of the distance to the observation point. The formula is established, according to which the asymptotic of this problem solution should be built, in the case of the curve extreme of waveform propagation group velocity in the rope. A similar approach gives the possibility to explore the main patterns of no stationary wave fields generated in the ropes of cranes load lifting mechanisms. The results obtained in the work can be used for establishing cranes rope systems loads and deformations quantities estimates under the condition of their transience. Such loads/deformations usually cause of the above systems overstrain when lifting or lowering loads with different types cranes (particularly, bridge, gantry, portal), which work in operation modes (real operation mode) and can lead to emergencies (for example, breaks in rope systems).

This study is to investigate the status of using rope in purse seine fisheries in Viet Nam based on surveyed data from 13 provinces/cities across country. Statistic data were taken randomly from 30 purse seine samples per each region of North, Middle, and South by pre-designed questionnaire with direct survey method of fishing gears combined with interview with the owners/captains. The results indicated that the initial constructing and annual replacing ropes of purse seine is mainly concentrated in the group of diameters from 10 - 20 mm. Up to 98% of Polypropylene (PP) material is used in Vietnamese purse seine. Float line and lead line are used the most ropes in purse seine. In purse seine fisheries, the annual additional rope is one quarter of the original amount of rope fitted. Purse seine in the Middle and the South is larger than that in the North of Viet Nam. The ratio of lengths between the float line and the lead line among the regions is different. The ratio of the main purse line with the lead line ranges from 1.1 to 1.75. Average life expectancy of main purse line is lowest in rope types of the purse seiners. The characteristics of the fishing grounds are different in these three regions, so the rope of purse seine is also different.

After conducting a document review, the authors found no reports concerning the influence of biological factors, such as blood, mould, and dirt, on the durability of rescue ropes. This study aims to answer the question of whether and how selected biological factors affect static rope 10.5, which is frequently used by firefighters for rescues. In the first stage of the research, focus studies were conducted among fifteen members of the Specialist High-Rescue Group in Plock (Poland), which aimed to determine the state of knowledge about the impact of biological factors on the strength of rope. The results indicated that the group had knowledge as to the impact of physical and chemical factors on the rope; however, a lack of information on the impact of biological factors was identified. In the second stage, the force necessary to break static rope contaminated with selected biological agents was measured. To achieve this, a 100-m section of a new rope was divided into 63 sections, which were then exposed to impurities. The first endurance measurement was taken after 9 months and the second after 12 months. Findings: contamination with biological agents has an impact on static rope strength, and knowledge about this impact is negligible and not included in any rope-use instructions.

Several newer managed-care firms have followed suit. ... In the insurance industry, attitudes to research range from lukewarm to hostile. Lee Newcomer, medical director of United Health Care, a huge managedcare organization based in Minneapolis, says his firm would be more enthusiastic about paying for it if fewer clinical trials were "too small, too poorly designed, and too poorly organized" to answer questions about which treatments—particularly the most complex and costly—are worthwhile. William Roper, a former health official in the Reagan and Bush administrations who is now Dr Newcomer's counterpart at the Prudential Health Care System in Roseland, New Jersey, goes further. He agrees that research is important, but he also argues that researchers have been too little accountable for how they have spent the public dollars that have flowed their way. "Why," he asks, "should society be paying extra for the delivery of health care at academic institutions merely on the presumption that it is getting something of value?" Prudential's position—unless Congress decides to tax all managed-care companies to support research—is that it will not pay for experimental medicine.

Abstract It is widely believed that magnetic flux ropes are the key structure of solar eruptions; however, their observable counterparts are not clear yet. We study a flare associated with flux rope eruption in a comprehensive radiative magnetohydrodynamic simulation of flare-productive active regions, especially focusing on the thermodynamic properties of the plasma involved in the eruption and their relation to the magnetic flux rope. The preexisting flux rope, which carries cold and dense plasma, rises quasi-statically before the onset of eruptions. During this stage, the flux rope does not show obvious signatures in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) emission. After the flare onset, a thin “current shell” is generated around the erupting flux rope. Moreover, a current sheet is formed under the flux rope, where two groups of magnetic arcades reconnect and create a group of postflare loops. The plasma within the “current shell,” current sheet, and postflare loops are heated to more than 10 MK. The postflare loops give rise to abundant soft X-ray emission. Meanwhile, a majority of the plasma hosted in the flux rope is heated to around 1 MK, and the main body of the flux rope is manifested as a bright arch in cooler EUV passbands such as the AIA 171 Å channel.

The last obstacle faced is when using a spinning machine there is a concern that the electricity supply will not be able to meet because the electricity supply in the area around the coast still uses 450 watts of electricity. So that if you use a spinning machine, it is hoped that the machine can be energy efficient and easy to use. The right solution is offered to solve the problem of the need for a spinning machine that is energy efficient and easy to use, namely the manufacture of a slap rope spinning machine with a chain shaft system. The machine includes various components, among others; frames, shafts, bearings, gears, dimmers, belts and pulleys. The propulsion system uses an electric motor. By using the slap rope spinning machine, it is be able to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the slap rope spinning process.

Purpose To examine the utility of different dialect indices that have been used to characterize the Non-Mainstream American English (NMAE) dialect of African American children. The relationships among 4 popular dialect indices were examined and compared with the results of a standardized tool used to classify the language variation of child speakers at 3 different grade levels. Method The authors used listener judgment ratings, 2 dialect density measures obtained from a narrative sample, a standardized tool (Part 1 of the Diagnostic Evaluation of Language Variation—Screener Test [DELV–ST; Seymour, Roper, & deVilliers, 2003]), and dialect variation scores (DVAR) obtained from the DELV–ST to characterize 113 African American children's spoken production of NMAE. Results Grade-level effects on NMAE varied depending on the index used to measure dialect production. All of the dialect indices under investigation were related to one another. DELV–ST classification group effects were present on all but 1 of the indices used to capture NMAE. Conclusions Newer measures of NMAE, such as the DELV–ST and DVAR scores, are comparable to older measures such as dialect density measures and listener judgment ratings. Like listener judgment ratings, the DELV–ST and DVAR scores offer clinicians and researchers alike a quicker alternative to dialect density measures for confirming and quantifying the spoken production of NMAE dialect. The present findings confirm that, depending on the type of data collected and questions posed, researchers and clinicians alike are able to choose from multiple, valid, and reliable measures of non-mainstream dialect use.

This paper deals with the area of structural damage monitoring of steel strands wire ropes embedded into various equipment and mechanical systems. Of the currently available techniques and methods for wire ropes health monitoring, the authors focused on the group of techniques based on operational dynamics investigation of such systems. Beyond the capability and efficiency of both occasionally and continuously monitoring application, the dynamics-based methods are able to provide additional information regarding the structural integrity and functional operability of the entire ensemble embedding the wire ropes. This paper presents the results gained by the authors using a laboratory setup that can simulate the operational condition usually used for regular applications of wire ropes. The investigations were conducted on three directions of acquired signals post-processing. Firstly, the classical fast Fourier transform was used to evaluate the potential changes within the spectral distribution of transitory response. The other two directions involved high-order spectral analyses in terms of bi-spectrum and Wigner–Ville distribution and multi-scale analysis based methods such as complex wavelet cross-correlation and complex wavelet coherency. The results indicate that each direction of analysis can provide suitable information regarding potential wire rope damage, but the ensemble of post-processing methods offers supplementary precision.

BACKGROUND Artificial snow spray induced ocular injuries have become common in the past two decades throughout India. There is a paucity of studies in India as well as globally on such injuries. This study was undertaken to identify such types of ocular injuries and evaluate the awareness of artificial snow spray use in the present hospital settings. METHODS This hospital based longitudinal study was carried out among 68 patients having artificial snow spray induced ocular injuries. The study period was from 01. 01. 2019 to 30. 12. 2019. A detailed history of patients was taken pertaining to the injury. A thorough ocular examination was carried out on a slit lamp biomicroscope. Visual acuity was recorded using Snellen’s test type chart. Clinical grading was done by Roper Hall classification. RESULTS The present study included 68 patients i.e. 124 eyes of which 64.7 % (44) were males, 35.3 % (24) were females. The mean age was 26.029 years. All the patients suffered from chemical conjunctivitis (100 %), superficial punctate keratitis (SPK) 82.3 %, corneal erosion (8.8 %), and corneal erosion involving limbal area (3.2 %). Most ocular injuries due to artificial foam were bilateral (82.3 %). Maximum number of patients (94.4 %) had grade I ocular injuries. 93.5 % of patients had BCVA (best corrected visual acuity) 6 / 6 within 1 week of ocular injuries. So far, no patients had any irreversible ophthalmic sequelae. Awareness among the study group was very less. CONCLUSIONS Artificial snow spray used in parties, festival celebration can cause mild to severe ocular injuries. Public awareness will reduce the use of this chemical. This study aims to examine the effect of indifdual jump rope games and grouop jump rope on physical fitness and student motivation on futsal extracurricular students in MTs NU Berbek Waru Sidoarjo . This Study uses a quantitative approach to quasy expereriment research and the design ued is matching only design. The subjects of this study were 33 students who will be pretested to determine the division of groups. 11 students as the experimental group I were given the treatment of jump rope games individually and thefollowing 11 students as the experimental group II were reated as a group of jump rope games and the remeaning 11 studentswere made as a control group. Data collection methods in this study used two research instruments, namely the TKJI test to measure physical fitness scores and the motivation levels. Data werw analyzed with descriptive statistics using the SPSS 22.0 program. Based on the data obtained it can be concluded that there was a more significant increase in the two experimental groups compared to the control group. Physical fitness in all three groups experienced an increase, nmely by 6 % in group I, 9% in gropu II and 2 % in group III. Student motivation has increased by 3% while in group III student motivation has descread by 1%. The result of the study have proven that individual jump rope games and jump rope games in groups can improve the level of physicl fitness and motivation of students in following futsal extracurricular

The existing literature provides various computational models related to the dynamic behavior of strand wire ropes. It starts from the simple longitudinally oscillating beam, to the complex nonlinear multi-body configuration based on helical structural symmetry. The challenge is the prior availability of characteristic parameters for material behavior, structural configuration, and functional capability. Experimental investigation is the main source for evaluation of these characteristics. However, tests have specifically been performed according to each case, minimizing the generalization aspect. This is the main frame of this study. Hereby, the authors propose an ensemble of spectral investigations, applied to a reduced set of experimental tests regarding wire rope dynamics. The research goal consists of wire rope characterization in terms of the flexible and adaptive groups of parameters, related to the conservative and dissipative behaviors. An experimental setup is considered here according to the rope exploitation conditions in order to enable an extension of the method application from the experimental mode to the operational mode. Experiments are conducted based on classical vibration measurement procedures. The analysis is performed using a spectral method ensemble, including discrete Fourier transform, time-frequency joint analysis, and the Prony method. The result show that the proposed assessments can provide suitable information related to a large group of wire rope models.

The purpose of this study was to determine the specifications of the purse seine at KM Karya Maju and to determine the method of operation of the purse seine at KM Karya Maju. The research was carried out March-April 2019 at KM Karya Maju. The purse seine specifications at KM Karya Maju consist of upper rope, lower rope, buoys, ballast rope, self edge, ring rope, ropes, buoys, sinkers, rings. The purse seine operation area is located at WPP 572, from Nias island to North Natuna. Purse seine at KM Karya Maju is operated at night, using FADs. In this study we evaluated mitochondrial distribution of individual bovine embryos after IVF, parthenogenetic activation (PG), and somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT). COCs obtained from slaughterhouse ovaries were matured in vitro for at least 18 h in TCM-199 supplemented with hormones, and then divided into 3 groups. SCNT and PG oocytes were stripped by vortexing in HEPES-HECM (hamster embryo culture medium) medium (HH) containing hyaluronidase and metaphase II (MII) oocytes selected by visualization of a polar body. The PG group oocytes were exposed 24h post-maturation to 5 μM ionomycin in HH for 4 min, then rinsed 3 times in HH and allocated to a 4-h culture in 2 mM DMAP in KSOM for activation. The SCNT group oocytes were included in a nuclear transfer procedure performed as previously described (Ross et al. 2006 Biotechniques 41, 741-750). Activation was performed as described for the PG group. The IVF group COCs were co-incubated for 20 h with 106 spermatozoa/mL in IVF-TALP supplemented with heparin. To label mitochondria, 1 mM MitoTracker CMXRos Red (Molecular Probes, Eugene, OR, USA) was added to HH at a final concentration of 0.3 μM. Samples were cultured for 15 min, washed in HH, placed in a glass-bottomed 35-mm Petri dish, and then observed and live photographed by using a spinning disk confocal microscope (Nikon Eclipse TE2000-E + CARV Confocal) equipped with a Cascade 512 B camera (Roper Scientific, Tucson, AZ, USA) using a Nikon 40×, 1.3 NA oil objective lens. Z series images were taken acquiring 15 focal planes at 10-μm intervals. Analysis was performed using Metamorph software. Samples were taken at pronuclear, 4 cell, and morula stages. Each sample was classified for its mitochondrial localization in pericytoplasm, cytoplasm, and perinuclear. Data was analyzed by proc glimmix (SAS, Cary, NC, USA). Significance was set at P < 0.05. A similar pericytoplasmic distribution of mitochondria for all treatments up to the 4-cell stage was observed. At the pronucelar stage, mitochondria distribution was mostly pericytoplasmic, changing to cytoplasmic at the 4-cell stage. At the morula stage there was a significantly higher number of embryos with perinuclear distribution in IVF than in PG and SCNT embryos (Table 1). Our findings demonstrate that mitochondrial reorganization differs in fertilized more-developed embryos compared with their activated counterparts. Well-preserved and diversified organic-walled microfossil assemblages are recorded from the Vindhyan sediments of Son Valley and DMH-A well, in Madhya Pradesh. The microfossils include acritarchs, coccoid and filamentous taxa that suggest a Meso-Neoproterozoic age for the Vindhyan Supergroup which, hitherto, was assigned a Late Paleoproterozoic to Early Paleozoic age, based on fossil evidences and radiometric datings. The Kajrahat Limestone, within the basal Semri Group, recorded abundant filamentous microfossils, viz. Polythrichoides, Karamia, Arctacellularia and Siphonophycus along with simple unornamented sphaeromorph acritarchs (Leiosphaeridia spp.), suggesting ca. 1500-1450 Ma age of Early Mesoproterozoic. The microfossil assemblage of Deonar Formation also includes the above taxa; however, Satka, Eomicrocystis and acanthomorph acritarchs, Tappania spp., appear within this formation along with abundant polygonomorph acritarchs referable to Octoedryxium. The Deonar microfossil assemblage resembles the assemblage of Roper Group (northern Australia) and suggests ca. 1450-1350 Ma age of Early to Middle Mesoproterozoic. The sediments of Kheinjua Subgroup are marked by the appearance of various species of Navifusa, Simia and Pterospermopsimorpha in the Koldaha Shale with overall abundance of Tappania, Satka, Eomicrocystis, Kildinosphaera and Leiosphaeridia. The presence of Middle to Late Mesoproterozoic marker taxa, viz. Tappania plana, T. tubata and Navifusa segmentata helps to correlate the Koldaha Shale and Salkhan Limestone assemblages with the assemblage of the Ruyang Group (China), suggesting an Ectasian-Stenian (ca.1350-1050 Ma) age. In additon to the above taxa, the appearance of Early Neoproterozoic marker taxa, such as, Vandalosphaeridium, Bavlinella, Melanocyrillium and budding leiosphaerids in the Rampur Formation indicates a Late Stenian-Tonian age (ca. 1050-850 Ma) for this formation. The microfossil assemblage of the Rohtas Subgroup is quite distinct as the marker taxa of the Kheinjua Subgroup, viz. Tappania spp.and Navifusa spp. disappear. The presence of Trachysphaeridium laufeldi, Vandalosphaeridium reticulatum, Bavlinella faveolata and Stictosphaeridium spp., and the disappearance of Eomicrocystis, Satka and budding leiosphaerids within this formation allow its correlation with Middle Neoproterozoic Miroyedikha (Siberia) and Husar-Kanpa (central Australia) assemblages, suggesting an Early Cryogenian (ca.850-750 Ma) age for the Rohtas Subgroup. The microfossil assemblages from the Kaimur and Rewa groups are represented by the species of Symplassosphaeridium, Synsphaeridium and Leiosphaeridia. The occurrence of B. faveolata, T laufeldi and Octoedryxium truncatum in their assemblages suggest a Middle to Late Neoproterozoic (Late Cryogenian; ca.750-650 Ma) age. The sediments of the Bhander Group also include the above taxa. However, the appearance of Ediacaran (Vendian) marker species of Obruchevella, viz. O. parva and O. valdaica in the Ganurgarh Shale, and their abundance in the overlying Nagod Limestone and Sirbu Shale, suggests a Late Cryogenian-Early Ediacaran (ca. 650-570 Ma) age for the Bhander Group. Yet, the appearance of Obruchevella delicata, Lophosphaeridium tentativum and Cymatiosphaera sp. in the Nagod Limestone, and Obruchevella parvissima, Cristallinium sp. and Dictyotidium sp. in the Sirbu Shale suggest that the age of the Bhander Group extends into the Late Ediacaran (ca.570-544 Ma). The record of Calymmian (ca. 1500 Ma) to Late Ediacaran (ca. 544 Ma) organic-walled microfossil assemblages categorically suggests an Early Mesoproterozoic to Terminal Proterozoic age-range for the Vindhyan Supergroup. The occurrence of well-developed Middle and Late Mesoproterozoic microfossil assemblages in the Deonar Formation and Kheinjua Subgroup negates the Late Paleoproterozoic (ca. 1630 Ma) age assignment to them, based on radiometric datings. The presence of Ediacaran (Vendian) marker species of Obruchevella and the absence of distinctive Early Cambrian acritarchs in the Bhander Group brackets the upper age limits of Vindhyan Supergroup to the Late Ediacaran, and does not encompass the Lower Paleozoic.

Abstract Background Although hearing aids (HAs) and cochlear implants (CIs) can provide significant benefits to persons with hearing loss, users frequently report difficulty hearing in noisy environments, particularly when there are multiple talkers. Little is known about the benefits provided by currently available wireless microphones in multitalker situations. Purpose The purpose of this study was to compare the benefits received in speech recognition in noise by adults with hearing loss when using two different wireless microphone types in a simulated group setting. Research Design A quasi-experimental, repeated-measures design was used where performance in a control condition, HA/CI alone, was compared with performance in two wireless microphone intervention conditions. Study Sample Participants included ten listeners, aged 20-92 years, with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss who were experienced HA or CI users. Intervention The two wireless microphones by Phonak, Roger Pen, and Roger Select used the same digital modulation protocol to transmit the signal to compatible receivers. However, the Roger Pen operated in a fixed omnidirectional mode, whereas the Roger Select operated in an adaptive directional mode. Data Collection and Analysis Participants were asked to repeat Hearing in Noise Test sentences presented in restaurant noise in three conditions: HA/CI alone, HA/CI with a Roger Pen, or HA/CI with a Roger Select microphone placed in the center of a round table. Sentences were presented from one of five loudspeakers equally spaced with the participant, while restaurant noise was presented on each side at four signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs), including +5, 0, −5, and −10 dB. A two-way, repeated-measures analysis of variance was performed with main effects of listening condition and noise level. Results Significantly greater speech recognition performance was achieved with the wireless microphones than with listening with just the HA or CI. Furthermore, at the −5- and −10-dB SNR conditions, the Roger Select resulted in significantly better performance than the Roger Pen microphone. Conclusions The results suggest that the Roger Select microphone can provide significant benefits in speech recognition in noise over the use of HA/CI alone (61%) and also significant benefits over the use of a Roger Pen (16%) in a simulated group dining experience.

Nowadays, modern standards apply the proof of competence method to prove that a design force does not exceed a certain limit to ensure a certain safety level. Furthermore, standards elaborated during the last years apply a cycle-based approach instead of a time-based approach. The shortcomings of the standard ISO 16625:2013 need to be addressed in a revision. Therefore, a working group WG3 of ISO/TC 96 SC3 has been established in 2015 to prepare a new working draft ISO/WD 16625. Objectives are to adopt a cycle-based approach and to incorporate proofs of competence for static strength and fatigue strength for running ropes and stationary ropes, based on scientific inputs. The research work about steel wire ropes by the University of Stuttgart and the Technical University of Dresden developed the method Stuttgart and the method Leipzig, both representing regression models to determine the attainable number of bending cycles of a wire rope. The present paper briefly explains the method Leipzig and the method Stuttgart in chapter 3. In chapter 4, the partly implementation of findings from the method Stuttgart to the standard EN 13001-3-2:2014 is discussed and shortcomings are identified. Those shortcomings have also been addressed by the new developed concept of ISO/WD 16625 that is outlined in chapter 5. Finally, chapter 6 provides an overview on the revised ISO/WD 16625 to conclude the current state of the standardization work.

Abstract Background Institutional trust is a key component of the public health system’s effectiveness. However, the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted gaps in institutional trust and hesitation. Analysis was conducted to understand correlates of institutional trust to inform communication strategies for the ongoing pandemic and future public health crises. Methods The Roper Center for Public Opinion/ America’s Voice Project Coronavirus Index conducted a US online survey February 22-April 5, 2021 and included questions about COVID-19 experiences, attitudes and behaviors. Respondents also indicated trust in each of four institutions to provide accurate information about COVID-19: federal government, state government, CDC and national public health officials. Scores were summed to create an Institutional Trust (IT) index: the top third was classified as “High IT,” the middle third “Moderate IT” and the bottom third “Low IT.” Data were analyzed using χ2 tests, with z-tests for more granular between-group comparisons. Results Those with Low IT were significantly more likely than those with Moderate or High IT to be white, male, rural, politically conservative, married, and live with children under age 18. Low IT individuals were less likely to have been tested for COVID-19 themselves and less likely to know someone who had tested positive for COVID-19. However, Low IT respondents were more likely to have tested positive for COVID-19, even when controlling for their lower propensity to be tested. Low IT individuals were significantly more likely to have visited restaurants and stores in the past week and feel these activities posed no health risk; they also wore masks less often. Despite greater risk-taking, Low IT respondents were over five times more likely than High IT respondents to refuse the COVID-19 vaccine. Conclusion Low IT was associated with higher COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy as well as behavior that, at the time data was collected, put people at higher risk of contracting COVID-19. Public health officials should prioritize the development of more effective communications towards Low IT populations. Traditional methods of establishing message credibility may require modification in order to encourage Low IT individuals to participate in behaviors that enhance public health. Substrate is a key factor for successful crayfish culture, and it can be used to increase the survival rate. The effects of substrate on the survival and growth ofAstacus leptodactylusEschscholtz, 1823 were evaluated in flow-through compartments, divided into three sections and with two different substrates, over a period of 90 days. The three treatments used in the study were: artificial ropes, small stones, and a control group that received no substrate. The survival rate was highest in the small-stones treatment group (77.3%) and was lowest in the without-substrate treatment group (41.3%), while the artificial-ropes group showed an intermediate value (65.3%). Total yield was lower in the control group, 22.46% (25.0 g) as compared to the small-stones treatment group, with 42.3% (51.3 g) and the artificial-ropes treatment with 35.51% (55.8 g). In addition, cheliped injuries were found in higher proportion in the group without cover, and the artificial ropes yielded better results compared to the small-stones and no-substrate group in regard of the growth-increase rate.

The major purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a jump rope-based physical activity afterschool program on middle school students’ physical fitness. Sixty students (Mage = 13.37, SD = 0.58; 53.3% female) participated in a 12-week jump rope-based afterschool program (45 min/time, three times/week). Participants were randomly assigned to three groups: (a) freestyle rope skipping (N = 20), traditional jump rope (N = 20), and a control group (N = 20). Physical fitness tests, including muscular strength (standing long jump, right-hand grip, and left-hand grip), flexibility, body composition, and bone mineral density (BMD) were measured in pre- and post-tests. A 2 (time) × 3 (groups) repeated measure multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was performed. The results found significant improvements in muscular strength (standing long jump, right-hand grip, and left-hand grip) in both intervention groups (p < 0.001; ds = 0.2–0.44). Only the freestyle rope skipping group had increased BMD (p < 0.05, d = 0.33). Compared to the traditional jump rope, the freestyle rope skipping group showed significantly higher improvement in flexibility (p < 0.05, d = 0.83). These findings suggest that the jump rope-based afterschool program with freestyle rope skipping would be more effective than traditional jump rope to promote physical fitness performance among adolescents.

Objective: To compare the clinical effect of the self-made wire-rope button plate and cortical screw in the treatment of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis separation. Methods: Total 26 patients with distal tibiofibular syndesmosis separation were treated with internal fixation with a self-made wire-rope button plate and cortical screw. They were divided into a self-made wire-rope button plate group and cortical screw group. self-made wire-rope button plate group: 12 cases of inferior tibiofibular syndesmosis were reconstructed by self-made wire-rope button plate. Cortical screw group: 14 cases of inferior tibiofibular syndesmosis were reconstructed by cortical screw. The follow-up data of 2, 6, 12 weeks and 6 and 12 months after operation were collected. Results: There was no significant difference in operative time, the amount of intraoperative bleeding and postoperative complications between the two groups (P > 0.05). Comparison of postoperative complications: There was no loosening and rupturing of internal fixation in the self-made wire-rope button plate group. In the cortical screw group, the rupture of screws was found in 1 case, which occurred in the 10th weeks after the operation, and the broken screws were removed after 1 year with other internal fixations. Within 12 weeks of reoperation to remove the internal fixation rate: There was a significant difference in the rate of reoperation to remove the internal fixation within 12 weeks (p < 0.05). At the last follow-up, the AOFAS score of the ankle joint were 94 ± 4.79 in the self-made wire-rope button plate group and 92.8 ± 6.73 in the cortical screw group. There was no significant difference (P > 0. 05). Conclusion: The self-made wire-rope button plate and cortical screw can effectively treat the separation of the tibiofibular syndesmosis. It provides a new choice for the treatment of inferior tibiofibular syndesmosis.

The use of the innovative material of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced (C-FRP) ropes as external near surface mounted reinforcement for the strengthening of reinforced concrete beam-column joints is studied. The ropes are diagonally applied forming external X-type reinforcements on both sides of the joint body. The efficiency of the technique is mainly based on the assumption that the confinement of the joint body due to the applied X-shaped ropes and the contribution of the ropes as shear reinforcement are efficient enough to reduce the shear deformations observed in the joint core during the seismic excitation. Thereof the experimental measurements of the shear deformations of nine full scale beam-column joints tested in cyclic deformations are elaborated and presented herein. The specimens are sorted in two groups. Specimens of group A have been designed in the way that damage is mainly expected in the beam. On the other hand, in order to investigate the efficacy of the use of the ropes for substandard joints the group B specimens have been designed in the way that cracks and some damages are expected to develop in the joint body. Systematic and extended comparative presentations for specimens with and without ropes proved in all the examined cases that the externally mounted C-FRP ropes kept the joint body intact and substantially reduced the shear deformations especially in high drifts. Moreover, the influence of the externally mounted X-shaped C-FRP ropes on the seismic behaviour of these specimens is also examined in terms of the developing principal tensile stresses inside the joint body. From the comparisons of the principal stresses developing in specimens with and without X-form C-FRP ropes it became quite obvious that the ropes kept the joint body intact and allowed the development of higher values of principal stresses comparing with the stresses developing in specimens without ropes.

Background and Objectives: The repetitive loading forces generated during football activities may induce alterations in the hip rotation range of motion (ROM) in players. The objective of this study was to evaluate the acute effects of a training and a match on bilateral passive hip rotation ROM in both lower limbs in soccer. Material and Methods: Twenty-eight male players were divided into two groups: 14 players (28 limbs) with normal bilateral hip rotation ROM (NH group) and 14 players (28 limbs) with restricted bilateral hip ROM (RH group). Passive bilateral hip rotation ROM was measured, by goniometer, before and after training or a match. Internal-rotation ROM (ROMIR), external-rotation ROM (ROMER), total ROM (ROMTOT) and relative internal rotation (ROMREL) were calculated. Results: The NH group did not show substantial changes in hip ROM after a training nor a match. After a training session, only the RH group exhibited a substantial increase in ROMIR, ROMER and ROMTOT. After a match, only the RH group exhibited a substantial increase in ROMER and ROMTOT and exhibited a substantial decrease in ROMREL. Comparing both groups, there were significant differences within ROM changes for ROMER and ROMTOT after training and for ROMER and ROMREL after a match. Conclusions: Despite the small sample size of the present study, the findings indicate that a single football activity leads to significant changes in hip rotation ROM in players with restricted bilateral hip external-rotation ROM. However, these changes did not reach reference cut-off scores.

The main purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of skipping rope training on resting heart rate and cardio-respiratory endurance among soccer players. A total of forty male soccer players (age 19 – 24 years) were selected from Manipur University, Imphal, Manipur (India) who participated in the national-level competition. The subjects were randomly assigned into two equal groups, the experimental group (n=20) and the control group (n=20). The groups were measured before the intervention with resting heart rate and cardio-respiratory endurance to find out the overall significant effect among soccer players. After the initial test, the subjects of the experimental group participated in a supervised skipping rope training program, where no special exercise was administered to the control group. Skipping rope training programs were carried out for a period of six weeks, five days of training (Monday to Friday), and 60 minutes for each session. The experimental group showed improved scores in resting heart rate and cardio-respiratory endurance compared to the control group (p<0.05). The mean of the resting heart rate for the pre-test and post-test of the experimental group were 58.60 and 56.45 respectively. The values of the cardio-respiratory endurance were 72.41 and 80.47 respectively. The significant improvement in skipping rope training of the experimental group might be due to the six weeks of the soccer players. Skipping rope trainprogramsgram significantly improved physiological variables such as resting heart rate and motor fitness variables such as cardio-respiratory endurance of the male soccer players. Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare the results of arthroscopically assisted reduction of acute acromioclavicular (AC) joint separations with the Tight-Rope technique with results of clavicular hook plate fixation. Materials and Methods: The 28 patients with acute high-grade AC joint dislocation were treated with arthroscopic assisted fixation using the Tight-Rope system, the arthroscopic evaluation and treatment of glenohumeral lesions were performed before AC ligament reconstruction. Each Tight-Rope technique group patient was matched with three controls that underwent clavicular hook plate fixation, and preoperation and postoperative visual analogue scale (VAS) and functional recovery (Constant Score) of the shoulder joint was assessed,. Furthermore, the demographics and clinical characteristics were compared between the two groups. Results: All patients had clinical and radiological results available at 2 years or greater (mean: 34; range: 24–72 months), they were statistically significant improvement in the constant score and VAS score at the end of follow-up respectively ( P < 0.001). Compared with the clavicular hook plate group, Tight-Rope system group patients were incurred significant statistically lower skin incision, hospitalization time and estimated blood loss ( P < 0.001), and the constant score and VAS score at the end of follow-up was significantly higher in the Tight-Rope group ( P < 0.001). Patients who underwent clavicular hook plate had a higher incidence of fixation failure [10 cases (11.9%) versus 2 cases (7.1%)] than those of the Tight-Rope system group. Conclusions: The Tight-Rope technique is advantageous for treating these patients because it is a minimally invasive procedure with low complications and superior clinical outcomes.

This research aims to study the process and the physical property of the vitiate grass fiber by spinning vetiver grass with other natural fibers such as cotton, SamiaRicini, silk and plastic fiber such as plastic rope, wire rope and straw rope. The exploration was conducted by Ban KoSoa women group cooperative settlement, Ban Kae Mai handicraft product group and Ban Don Chai handicraft product group in Pusang District, Phayao Province. The physical properties examination, namely: ASTMD 1059:2001 Standard Test Method for Fiber Size, ASTM D 2256: 2002 Standard Test Method for Fiber Toughness with Hardness and Flexibility fiber Equipment, the results of examination would be brought to determinate for the handicraft product development design. The results from this exploration revealed that the fiber size was 0.73-0.15Ne, the tenacity (toughness) as maximum tensile strength was 4.75-9.97 kgf and the elongation at break was 7.73-11.48 percentages. The vetiver grass fiber mixed with straw rope had the tenacity as maximum tensile strength with differently at the statistically significant level of .05, the tenacity as maximum tensile strength average at 9.9 kgf, the vetiver grass fiber mixed with cotton fiber had the tenacity as maximum tensile strength with differently at the statistically significant level of .05, the tenacity as maximum tensile strength average at 6.60 kgf. The vetiver grass fiber mixed with wire rope had the highest elongation at break with differently at the statistically significant level of .05 by with the elongation break was 11.48 percentage. The vetiver grass fiber mixed with SamiaRicini fiber had the elongation break point with differently at the statistically significant level at .05, the elongation at break was 11.6 percentage. According to the handicraft product development guideline from the physical property of the vetiver grass fiber on the basis of this finding, the strength fiber as the vetiver grass fiber mixed with straw rope fiber or cotton fiber could be used for supporting weight product requirement, the elasticity fiber as the vetiver grass fiber mixed with straw rope fiber or SamiaRicini could be used for product which soft and flexibility requirement, the utility from using fiber color that spinning for beauty could be used the vetiver grass fiber that spinning and mixed with other fiber.

An analysis was made of the change in the linear characteristics of ropes made of polyamide, polypropylene and polyethylene, which were divided into three groups. Each group included the above ropes. With these groups, the storage technology was simulated during the year under various conditions.
