The research aimed to analyse the scientific attitude profile of prospective physics teacher students in the Physics Experiment II course for Direct Electric Circuits. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive method. The research subjects are students of the Physics Education Study Program, Sriwijaya University, in the academic year 2021/2022, for the Palembang class. The selection of research samples using a purposive sampling technique for 25 students. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, self-assessment questionnaires, peer-to-peer assessment questionnaires, and unstructured interviews. Each questionnaire contains 25 statements with four answer categories to produce polytomy data. The data analysis technique of this research uses the Rasch model with the help of the Winstep application. The results of the study showed that the scientific attitude of curiosity was 83.33 in very good category; the honest scientific attitude of 58.33 category enough; the scientific attitude of critical thinking is 75.33 good category; the scientific attitude of cooperation is 83.33 very good category; the scientific attitude of the discipline of 100 categories is very good; and a thorough scientific attitude of 100 very good categories. The causes of low honest scientific attitude in students are caused by low self-confidence and errors in understanding and concluding statements.Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis profil sikap ilmiah mahasiswa calon guru fisika pada mata kuliah Praktikum Fisika Dasar II materi Rangkaian Listrik Searah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yaitu Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika Universitas Sriwijaya tahun akademik 2021/2022 kelas Palembang. Adapun pemilihan sampel penelitian menggunaka teknik purposive sampling kepada 25 orang mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, angket penilaian diri, angket penilaian antar teman, dan wawancara tidak terstruktur. Angket masing-masing memuat 25 pernyataan dengan 4 kategori jawaban sehingga menghasilkan data politomi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sikap ilmiah rasa ingin tahu sebesar 83,33 kategori baik sekali; sikap ilmiah jujur sebesar 58,33 kategori cukup; sikap ilmiah berpikir kritis sebesar 75,33 kategori baik; sikap ilmiah kerjasama sebesar 83,33 kategori baik sekali; sikap ilmiah disiplin sebesar 100 kategori baik sekali; dan sikap ilmiah teliti sebesar 100 kategori baik sekali. Adapun penyebab rendahnya sikap ilmiah jujur pada mahasiswa disebabkan oleh rendahnya percaya diri dan terjadi kekeliruan dalam memahami serta menyimpulkan pernyataan.

In recent years, with the rise of global diabetes, a growing number of subjects are suffering from pain and infections caused by the invasive nature of mainstream commercial glucose meters. Non-invasive blood glucose monitoring technology has become an international research topic and a new method which could bring relief to a vast number of patients. This paper reviews the research progress and major challenges of non-invasive blood glucose detection technology in recent years, and divides it into three categories: optics, microwave and electrochemistry, based on the detection principle. The technology covers medical, materials, optics, electromagnetic wave, chemistry, biology, computational science and other related fields. The advantages and limitations of non-invasive and invasive technologies as well as electrochemistry and optics in non-invasives are compared horizontally in this paper. In addition, the current research achievements and limitations of non-invasive electrochemical glucose sensing systems in continuous monitoring, point-of-care and clinical settings are highlighted, so as to discuss the development tendency in future research. With the rapid development of wearable technology and transdermal biosensors, non-invasive blood glucose monitoring will become more efficient, affordable, robust, and more competitive on the market.

The development of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) and the digitization and automation of manufacturing processes have created a demand for designing smart warehouses to support manufacturing processes. Warehousing is one of the fundamental processes in the supply chain, and is responsible for handling inventory. Efficient execution of warehouse operations often determines the effectiveness of realized goods flows. Therefore, digitization and its use in exchanging information between partners, especially real-time inventory levels, is critical. For this reason, the digital solutions of Industry 4.0 have quickly found application in internal logistics processes and enabled the design of smart warehouses, also known as Warehouse 4.0. The purpose of this article is to present the results of the conducted review of publications on the design and operation of warehouses using the concepts of Industry 4.0. A total of 249 documents from the last 5 years were accepted for analysis. Publications were searched for in the Web of Science database using the PRISMA method. The article presents in detail the research methodology and the results of the biometric analysis. Based on the results, a two-level classification framework was proposed, which includes 10 primary categories and 24 subcategories. Each of the distinguished categories was characterized based on the analyzed publications. It should be noted that in most of these studies, the authors’ attention primarily focused on the implementation of (1) Industry 4.0 technological solutions, such as IoT, augmented reality, RFID, visual technology, and other emerging technologies; and (2) autonomous and automated vehicles in warehouse operations processes. Critical analysis of the literature also allowed us to identify the current research gaps, which will be the subject of further research by the authors.

Discrimination of eye movements and visual states is a flourishing field of research and there is an urgent need for non-manual EEG-based wheelchair control and navigation systems. This paper presents a novel system that utilizes a brain–computer interface (BCI) to capture electroencephalographic (EEG) signals from human subjects while eye movement and subsequently classify them into six categories by applying a random forests (RF) classification algorithm. RF is an ensemble learning method that constructs a series of decision trees where each tree gives a class prediction, and the class with the highest number of class predictions becomes the model’s prediction. The categories of the proposed random forests brain–computer interface (RF-BCI) are defined according to the position of the subject’s eyes: open, closed, left, right, up, and down. The purpose of RF-BCI is to be utilized as an EEG-based control system for driving an electromechanical wheelchair (rehabilitation device). The proposed approach has been tested using a dataset containing 219 records taken from 10 different patients. The BCI implemented the EPOC Flex head cap system, which includes 32 saline felt sensors for capturing the subjects’ EEG signals. Each sensor caught four different brain waves (delta, theta, alpha, and beta) per second. Then, these signals were split in 4-second windows resulting in 512 samples per record and the band energy was extracted for each EEG rhythm. The proposed system was compared with naïve Bayes, Bayes Network, k-nearest neighbors (K-NN), multilayer perceptron (MLP), support vector machine (SVM), J48-C4.5 decision tree, and Bagging classification algorithms. The experimental results showed that the RF algorithm outperformed compared to the other approaches and high levels of accuracy (85.39%) for a 6-class classification are obtained. This method exploits high spatial information acquired from the Emotiv EPOC Flex wearable EEG recording device and examines successfully the potential of this device to be used for BCI wheelchair technology.

Background: The Pilots for Healthy and Active Ageing (PHArA-ON) project aimsto ensure reality smart and active living for Europe’s ageing population by creating a set of integrated and highly customizable interoperable open platforms with advanced services, devices, and technologies and tools. The aim of the present study was to determine the needs and preferences of older people and their caregivers for improving healthy and active aging and guiding the technological development of thePHArA-ON system. Methods: A pre-structured interview was administered to older adults, informal caregivers and professional caregivers (including social operators) taking part in the piloting sessions. Results: Interviews were carried out in Umana Persone Social Enterprise R&D Network (UP) in Tuscany, and Ospedale Casa SollievodellaSofferenza (CSS) in Apulia. A total of 22 older adults, 22 informal caregivers, 13 professional caregivers and 4 social operators were recruited. A prioritization analysis of services, according to the stakeholder’s needs, has determined two fundamental need categories: Heath Management (i.e., stimulation and monitoring), and Socialisation (i.e., promoting social inclusion). Conclusions: The main scientific contributions to this study are the following: to design and evaluate technology in the context of healthy and active ageing, to acquire relevant knowledge on user needs to develop technologies that can handle the real life situations of older people, obtain useful insights about the attitude and availability of end-users in using technologies in clinical practice, and to provide important guidelines to improve the PHArA-ON system. Specific experimentation stages were also carried out to understand which kind of technology is more acceptable, and to obtain feedback regarding the development priority related to the impact of the proposed services. Research through fruitful and continuous interaction with the different subjects involved in the development process of the system, as well as with stakeholders, enabled the implementation of a platform which could be further and easily integrated and improved.

A comprehensive review of the main existing devices, based on the classic and new related Hall Effects is hereby presented. The review is divided into sub-categories presenting existing macro-, micro-, nanoscales, and quantum-based components and circuitry applications. Since Hall Effect-based devices use current and magnetic field as an input and voltage as output. researchers and engineers looked for decades to take advantage and integrate these devices into tiny circuitry, aiming to enable new functions such as high-speed switches, in particular at the nanoscale technology. This review paper presents not only an historical overview of past endeavors, but also the remaining challenges to overcome. As part of these trials, one can mention complex design, fabrication, and characterization of smart nanoscale devices such as sensors and amplifiers, towards the next generations of circuitry and modules in nanotechnology. When compared to previous domain-limited text books, specialized technical manuals and focused scientific reviews, all published several decades ago, this up-to-date review paper presents important advantages and novelties: Large coverage of all domains and applications, clear orientation to the nanoscale dimensions, extended bibliography of almost one hundred fifty recent references, review of selected analytical models, summary tables and phenomena schematics. Moreover, the review includes a lateral examination of the integrated Hall Effect per sub-classification of subjects. Among others, the following sub-reviews are presented: Main existing macro/micro/nanoscale devices, materials and elements used for the fabrication, analytical models, numerical complementary models and tools used for simulations, and technological challenges to overcome in order to implement the effect in nanotechnology. Such an up-to-date review may serve the scientific community as a basis for novel research oriented to new nanoscale devices, modules, and Process Development Kit (PDK) markets.

Erosion caused by solid particle impact is a very common phenomenon. In many fields such as particle (or slurry) transportation, equipment protection in a dust environment, turbine engineering, etc., prevention of particle erosion is the task. In other applications, it is used as a tool for desirable material removal, surface cleaning, controlled destruction, numerous studies on this subject have been conducted by researchers from many disciplines including physics, material science, mechanics, manufacturing, standardization, etc.. To provide a comprehensive view of the problem of erosion by solid particle impact, a review is conducted based on the literature collected on material subject of erosion by solid particle impact. The reviewed works are limited to ductile material erosion and four categories: erosion mechanism, parametric studies, material removal modeling and simulation modeling.

This study explores a bibliometric approach to quantitatively assessing current research trends on sludge, by using the related literature published between 2000 and 2011. The articles acquired from such literature were concentrated on the general analysis by publication type and language, characteristics of articles outputs, country, subject categories and the frequency of title-words used. Over the past 12 years, there had been a notable growth trend in publication outputs, along with more participation of countries/territories. An analysis of the title-words showed that wastewater treatment was still the most hot topic in sludge research and wastewater, heavy metal, waste water treatment and anaerobic digestion were recent major topics of sludge research. Besides, membrane bioreactor technology has been advancing rapidly around the world and became an ideal way to reduce sludge production in the wastewater treatment process.

This paper aims to evaluate the knowledge landscape of the phytoremediation of heavy metals (HMs) by constructing a series of scientific maps and exploring the research hotspots and trends of this field. This study presents a review of 6873 documents published about phytoremediation of HMs in the international context from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) (1989–2018). Two different processing software applications were used, CiteSpace and Bibliometrix. This research field is characterized by high interdisciplinarity and a rapid increase in the subject categories of engineering applications. The basic supporting categories mainly included “Environmental Sciences & Ecology”, “Plant Sciences”, and “Agriculture”. In addition, there has been a trend in recent years to focus on categories such as “Engineering, Multidisciplinary”, “Engineering, Chemical”, and “Green & Sustainable Science & Technology”. “Soil”, “hyperaccumulator”, “enrichment mechanism/process”, and “enhance technology” were found to be the main research hotspots. “Wastewater”, “field crops”, “genetically engineered microbes/plants”, and “agromining” may be the main research trends. Bibliometric and scientometric analysis are useful methods to qualitatively and quantitatively measure research hotspots and trends in phytoremediation of HM, and can be widely used to help new researchers to review the available research in a certain research field.

The purpose of this research is to reveal the feelings and thoughts of physics teachers towards Algodoo training within the scope of the 4005 TUBITAK project named Innovative and Technology Supported Applications in Physics Education. This study was carried out with phenomenological research within the context of the qualitative research approach. The study group of the research consisted of 22 physics teachers trained in the 4005 TUBITAK project and volunteered to participate in the research. Data were obtained from semi-structured interviews. The data were carried out following the descriptive analysis method with the help of the NVivo 9 program. As a result of descriptive analysis, four categories emerged. These are the installation and application of the Algodoo program, physics teaching activities, and apps similar to Algodoo and Algodoo training. Based on the findings obtained from the research, it was concluded that most of the teachers were very interested in using Algodoo in their lessons, could benefit from Algodoo in their lessons, and could prepare simple physics simulations. Based on the results, Suggestions such as disseminating Algodoo training with in-service training for teaching physics subjects with interactive applications were presented to those interested in the subject.

There has been a large volume of research on structural health monitoring since the 1970s but this research effort has yielded relatively few routine industrial applications. Structural health monitoring can include applications on very different structures with very different requirements; this article splits the subject into four broad categories: rotating machine condition monitoring, global monitoring of large structures (structural identification), large area monitoring where the area covered is part of a larger structure, and local monitoring. The capabilities and potential applications of techniques in each category are discussed. Condition monitoring of rotating machine components is very different to the other categories since it is not strictly concerned with structural health. However, it is often linked with structural health monitoring and is a relatively mature field with many routine applications, so useful lessons can be read across to mainstream structural health monitoring where there are many fewer industrial applications. Reasons for the slow transfer from research to practical application of structural health monitoring include lack of attention to the business case for monitoring, insufficient attention to how the large data flows will be handled and the lack of performance validation on real structures in industrial environments. These issues are discussed and ways forward proposed; it is concluded that given better focused research and development considering the key factors identified here, structural health monitoring has the potential to follow the path of rotating machine condition monitoring and become a widely deployed technology.

Student worksheets (LKS) are one of the appropriate learning alternatives for students because they can help students to add information about the concepts learned through the process of learning activities. This study aims to develop a worksheet based on a virtual physics education technology (PhET) laboratory on the material of traveling waves and stationary waves. This research was conducted at the state 42 Jakarta Senior High School (SMA) in class XI Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. This research uses a research and development (R& D) method with simple random sampling. Validation was carried out for the subject matter, learning media and language used of the LKS developed. At the end of LKS development was the implementation of the LKS, a questionnaire was distributed to students to determine student responses to the developed LKS. The results of the validation of the subject matter, learning media and language obtained an average value of 81.09%, 76.96% and 82.50% with feasible, feasible, and very feasible categories for each validation carried out. While the results of student responses showed an average value of 87.39% with a very positive category.

Ground-penetrating radar (GPR) is an established technology with a wide range of applications for civil engineering, geological research, archaeological studies, and hydrological practices. In this regard, this study applies bibliometric and scientometric assessment to provide a systematic review of the literature on GPR-related research. This study reports the publication trends, sources of publications and subject categories, cooperation of countries, productivity of authors, citations of publications, and clusters of keywords in GPR-related research. The Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) and the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), which can be accessed through the Web of Science Core Collection, are used as references. The findings report that the number of publications is 6880 between 2001 and 2021. The number of annual publications has increased significantly, from 139 in 2001 to 576 in 2021. The studies are published in 894 journals, and the annual number of active journals increased from 68 in 2001 to 215 in 2021. Throughout the study, the number of subject categories involved in GPR-related research fluctuated, ranging from 38 in 2001 to 68 in 2021. The research studies originated from 118 countries on 6 continents, where the United States and the People’s Republic of China led the research articles. The top five most common keywords are ground-penetrating radar, non-destructive testing, geophysics, electrical resistivity tomography, and radar. After investigating the clusters of keywords, it is determined that civil engineering, geological research, archaeological studies, and hydrological practices are the four main research fields incorporating GPR utilization. This study offers academics and practitioners an in-depth review of the latest research in GPR research as well as a multidisciplinary reference for future studies.

Electricity Price Forecasting (EPF) influences the sale conditions in the energy sector. Proper models of electricity price prognosis can be decisive for choice between energy sources as a start point of transformation toward renewable energy sources. This article aims to present and compare various EPF models scientific publications. Adopted in this study procedure, the EPF publications models are compared into two main categories: the most popular and the most accurate. The adopted method is a bibliometric study as a variation of Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with specified automated queries supported by the VOSviewer bibliometric maps exploration. The subject of this research is the exploration of EPF models in two databases, Web of Science and Scopus, and their content comparison. As a result, the SLR research queries were classified into two groups, the most cited and most accurate models. Queries characteristics were explained, along with the graphical presentation of the results. The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of students worksheet to improve of critical thinking ability of fourth grade student’s of SD N 5 Parakan Kauman based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and local wisdom. This research adopt the procedure of research and development that oriented in 4D model (Define, Design, Developed, and Disseminate). The research design used was one groups pretest-posttest design with the member of subject were 24 students. The research instrument used observation sheet, interview sheet, validity test, written test (pretest and posttest), and also questionnaire. The result of the research showed that students worksheet included in the effective enough category, which based on the calculation of N-Gain score was 62.7809 or 62.8 %, with a minimum score is 57.14 % and a maximum score 66.67 %. These scores showed the improvement of student thinking in solving problem aspect, with good and very good categories. The result of the teacher respondent is 67, it is in interesting category and the student respondent got 84 in average score, it is in very interesting category. It can be concluded that the implementation of student worksheet in STEM basic and local wisdom can be implemented in teaching learning activities, it also improve the ability of students’ critical thinking.

This paper aims to explore the current status, research trends and hotspots related to the field of infrared detection technology through bibliometric analysis and visualization techniques based on the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) articles published between 1990 and 2018 using the VOSviewer and Citespace software tools. Based on our analysis, we first present the spatiotemporal distribution of the literature related to infrared detection technology, including annual publications, origin country/region, main research organization, and source publications. Then, we report the main subject categories involved in infrared detection technology. Furthermore, we adopt literature cocitation, author cocitation, keyword co-occurrence and timeline visualization analyses to visually explore the research fronts and trends, and present the evolution of infrared detection technology research. The results show that China, the USA and Italy are the three most active countries in infrared detection technology research and that the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique has the largest number of publications among related organizations. The most prominent research hotspots in the past five years are vibration thermal imaging, pulse thermal imaging, photonic crystals, skin temperature, remote sensing technology, and detection of delamination defects in concrete. The trend of future research on infrared detection technology is from qualitative to quantitative research development, engineering application research and infrared detection technology combined with other detection techniques. The proposed approach based on the scientific knowledge graph analysis can be used to establish reference information and a research basis for application and development of methods in the domain of infrared detection technology studies.

Electronic student worksheets or E-LKPD are teaching materials designed digitally to support the learning process based on science, technology, engineering mathematics or STEM to increase student creativity through project design, planning activity schedules or work plans. This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective STEM-based E-LKPD in increasing the creativity of junior high school students. The methodology used in this research is research and development (RD) with the ADDIE model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The analysis stage is to determine and define student needs through interviews with teachers and students. The design stage is done by designing a STEM-based E-LKPD that suits the needs in terms of design, language, and materials. The development stage is carried out by developing products that are validated by validators, namely material experts, media experts, and science subject teachers to determine the feasibility of the product. The implementation phase is a trial using STEM-based E-LKPD on student creativity. The evaluation stage is carried out with the final revision of the product developed in accordance with the input suggestions at the implementation stage. The results of the study can be concluded that the STEM-based E-LKPD on temperature and heat materials to increase the creativity of junior high school students shows results with valid, practical, and effective categories

A public health emergency of international concern, such as a pandemic, disrupts the normal operation of the global supply chain, which necessitates in-depth research on supply chain management. In this paper, we used bibliometric and content analysis to provide a systematic analysis of the supply chain industry from this background. The descriptive analysis provides insights into the publication growth trajectory, in terms of the contributing authors, countries, and subject categories, which presents an intuitive display of previous research. In addition, the existing research mainly covers three dimensions of supply chain disruption, strategies, and sustainability, which can be clustered into supply chain disruption, disruption recovery, reconfiguration, digital intelligence, optimization, and sustainability. By revisiting the supply chain industry, we explored the transformation of its characteristics in the pandemic, covering themes ranging from expansion to contraction, from traditional to digital intelligence, and from fragile to sustainability, which suggests potential research directions for future studies. This contributes to the further research of supply chain management during the pandemic and provides supply chain managers with a practical approach for dealing with supply chain disruption risks and improving supply chain sustainability in this context.

Physic learning usually requires more observation to form certain knowledge and concepts. Physic does not only consist of a collection of various knowledge or facts that can be memorized, but also consists of an active process of using the mind in studying natural phenomena that cannot be explained. Physics subject is one of the keys to success in increasing the ability to adapt to change and enter the world of technology. Therefore, certain ways are needed to convey the material in science lessons, especially physics. This study aims to produce Motion Graphic-based Work and Energy Learning Media on feasible work and energy materials in terms of materials, media, and students' responses. The research method used is research and development (R&D), using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The subjects were conducted in class X IPA 1, which consisted of 15 students. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The results showed that media could be used as a teaching media in the physics subject of work and energy based on expert judgment with very good categories for media, materials, and students' responses. So it can be concluded that Work and Energy motion graphic media can be employed as a ground-breaking teaching tool for engaging Work and Energy physic material.

An important problem in the 21st century is the integration of information and communication technology in learning. Because teachers and students must be prepared to keep abreast of increasingly sophisticated times. STEM is a learning that integrates science (science), technology (technology), engineering (engineering), and mathematics (mathematics). STEM provides learning through the process of solving problems in everyday life in order to enhance students' creative abilities. STEM learning aims to improve the ability of students to compete with the surrounding environment and globally, both in science and able to innovate technological products. Currently there are many textbooks in circulation with various publishers. For this reason, it is necessary to find out whether the outstanding textbooks have been able to facilitate the implementation of the STEM approach in learning. The solution to this problem is to analyze the extent to which the textbook meets the STEM component. This type of research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The population of data in this research were all physics textbooks for class X semester 1 high school. The samples in this research were five books used in learning physics in class X semester 1 high school. The data in this research were taken using a research instrument which had 4 components which were elaborated into 19 assessment items and data collection techniques used are through observation. The results of this research indicate that the average suitability obtained for each book that is in textbook 1 has a value of 88 with a category in accordance with the STEM component. In textbook 2 has a value of 85 with a category in accordance with the STEM component. In textbook 3 with a value of 72 with categories according to the STEM component. Textbook 4 with a value of 77 with categories according to the STEM component. Finally in textbook 5 with a value of 85 with a category very much in accordance with the STEM component

Prefabricated building has become one of the most significant research directions in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry and has attracted a large number of scholars and practitioners in recent years. However, few studies have conducted a systematic review on the development of prefabricated building research around the world. In this study, the scientometric method is used to analyze the literature on prefabricated buildings in the past ten years through analysis of co-authors, co-words, and co-citation. From the Web of Science (WOS) core collection database, a total of 1224 articles were collected for statistics and analysis. The analysis results indicated that Bruno Dal Lago obtained the maximum number of co-citations, and the most significant country/region and research institution in prefabricated building research were China and Tongji University, respectively. It was also found that engineering, civil engineering, and construction and building technology were the top three subject categories that prefabricated building research belonged to. Among all the keywords of the collected articles, citation bursts were received by “cladding panel,” “precast concrete,” and “project.” Moreover, there were 11 co-citation clusters identified from the articles, and their themes included precast structures, waste management, progressive collapse, delay, precast facades, carbon reduction, laser scanning, and prefabricated residential building. This paper is expected to provide researchers and practitioners in this field a detailed and in-depth understanding of the trend and status of global research on prefabricated buildings.

The ocean is of great significance in the climate system, global resources and strategic decision making. With the continuous improvement in remote sensing technology, ocean remote sensing research has increasingly become an important topic for resource development and environmental protection. This paper uses bibliometric analysis method and VOSviewer visual software to conduct analysis. The analysis focuses on the period from 1990 to 2020. The analysis results show that articles have been steadily increasing over the past two decades. Scholars and researchers form the United States, China and Europe (mainly Western European countries), as well as NASA, Chinese Academy of Sciences and NOAA have bigger influence in this field to some extent. Among them, the United States and NASA holds the core leading position. Moreover, global cooperation in this field presents certain characteristics of geographical distribution. This study also reveals journals that include the most publications and subject categories that are highly relevant to related fields. Cluster analysis shows that remote sensing, ocean color, MODIS (or Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer), chlorophy, sea ice and climate change are main research hotspots. In addition, in the context of climate warming, researchers have improved monitoring technology for remote sensing to warn and protect ocean ecosystems in hotspots (the Arctic and Antarctica). The valuable results obtained from this study will help academic professionals keep informed of the latest developments and identify future research directions in the field related to ocean remote sensing.

It is generally difficult to define abstract concepts for students. However, perceptions related to abstract concepts or facts can be revealed using metaphors because people frequently express their emotions, ideas and perceptions by means of metaphors. Through metaphors, students can express what they want to say more effectively with fewer words. Metaphorical perceptions are verbal expressions of individuals related to their perceptions about the external world, and these may help them to reveal the current situation related to the concept on their minds. Energy is a complex concept since it is abstract as well as it concerns all scientific fields. The purpose of this study is to determine metaphorical perceptions of the engineering candidates about energy. The research was conducted using the phenomenological research method which is a qualitative research method. The research population consisted of 148 grade 3 students who were studying at Necmettin Erbakan University Faculty of Engineering and Architecture during the spring semester of Academic Year in 2016-2017. Considering the results of the research, the metaphors of the engineering candidates about energy were classified in 7 categories. These categories are; energy as the reason of existence, energy as an issue of physics, energy as the base of technology, energy as the base of development, energy as a non consumable substance, energy as a consumable substance and energy as a transformable substance.

The article deals with the problematization of the study of the kon (unwritten rules) phenomenon. The functions of the unwritten rules (kon) are compared with the functions of the law. The constitution of social reality as a socio-historical process that establishes the basic categories of society's perception of its social existence is the object of research. The subject of the study is the poorly studied functions of the “kon” in the constitution of social reality. The methodology is held together by general theoretical methods of typology and comparison. The study is built from the observation of the historical phenomenon of the horse to the disclosure of the heuristic potential of the concept of “kon” for describing the phenomena of modern life. The basis of the methodology is the theory of binary oppositions of culture by A.S. Akhiezer, reinforced the dialectical-dialogical pragmatic model of metacommunication R.T. Craig. The social functions of the horse remain poorly studied due to a certain way of configured research optics, concentrated on the laws governing the control of a single center of power by a poorly organized periphery.

Competency of productive subjects of light vehicle engineering in schools is almost all needed in the industrial world. Dance is an art and when technology meets this kind of art, it is a novel attempt in itself. Many researchers have attempted to automate several aspects of dance, right from dance notation to choreography; from dance capturing to dance generation. We define and illustrate the concept of ‘Dance Automation’ in this paper. Furthermore, we have encountered several applications of dance automation like e-learning, heritage preservation, medical therapy, etc. Despite decades of continuous attempts by many researchers in various styles of dance all round the world, we found a review paper that portrays the research status in this area of ‘dance and computers’ dating to 1990 (Leonardo 1990 Computers and dance: A bibliography , pp. 87–90). Hence, we decided to compose a comprehensive review article that showcases several aspects of dance automation and document contributions of researchers in marrying creativity with logic. This paper is an attempt to review research work reported in the literature, categorize and group significant research work completed in a span of 1967–2020 in the field of automating dance. We have explicitly identified six major categories corresponding to the use of computers in dance automation, namely, dance representation, dance capturing, dance semantics, dance generation, dance processing approaches and applications of dance automation systems. We classified several research papers under these categories according to their research approach and functionality. With the help of proposed categories and subcategories, one can easily determine the state of research and the new avenues left for exploration in the field of dance automation.

This research aims asa preliminary study to determine the ability to think creatively in physics learning using a correlational form with a quantitative approach and analyzed descriptively. The research subject is class VII SMP Negeri 65 Central Maluku, Central Maluku Regency. The data collection stage uses a test instrument containing description questions that have been designed in line with creative thinking indicators. Based on the results of the study, the average score of students' creative thinking skills was 54.94. with a high percentage of 1 student (5.89%). 11 students (70.59%) moderate, and 4 students (23.52%) low with the achievement level of each indicator 95% Fluency, 70% Flexibility, 75% Originality, 68% Elaboration, and 66% Evaluation. The conclusions of this study indicate the tendency of students' creative thinking abilities to be in the medium and low categories. The implication of this preliminary study is that physics learning media will be developed by utilizing technology by STEM-based interactive web with ESD insight on temperature and heat material to improve students' creative thinking skills

A descriptive bibliometric analysis of works on artificial intelligence (AI) in science education is provided in this article to help readers understand the state of the field’s research at the time. This study’s main objective is to give bibliometric data on publications regarding AI in science education printed in periodicals listed in the Scopus database between 2002 and 2023 end of May. The data gathered from publications scanned and published within the study’s parameters was subjected to descriptive bibliometric analysis based on seven categories: number of articles and citations per year, countries with the most publications, most productive author, most significant affiliation, funding institutions, publication source and subject areas. Most of the papers were published between 2016 and 2022. The United States of America, United Kingdom, and China were the top-3 most productive nations, with the United States of America producing the most publications. The number of citations to the publications indexed in Scopus database increased in a progressive way and reached to maximum number in 2022 with 178 citations. Most productive author on this topic was Salles, P. with four publications. Moreover, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Memphis, and University of Southern California have the maximum number of publications as affiliations. The National Science Foundation was the leader funding institution in terms of number of publications produced. In addition, “Proceedings Frontiers in Education Conference Fie” have the highest number of publications by year as a publication source. Distribution of the publications by subject area was analyzed. The subject areas of the publications were computer sciences, social sciences, science education, technology and engineering education respectively. This study presents a vision for future research and provides a global perspective on AI in science education.

Problem solving is one of the abilities that must be mastered in the 21st century, lack of mastery of students’ concepts in work and energy material has an impact on students' problem solving abilities. This research aims to measure students' problem solving skill on work and energy material. The research was used quasi-experiment with the design of a nonequivalent control group design. The subject of the research consist of 70 students at the 10th grade of one of high school in Kabupaten Tangerang with technique was used purposive sampling. The research used 10 essay questions as test instrument problem solving skill with 5 indicators of problem solving skill, namely visualize the problem, describe the problem in physics description, plan the solution, execute the plan and check and evaluate. The research result shows that is a effect of STEM learning on student’s problem solving skill proven by student’s problem solving skill of the experimental group increased higher (N-Gain 0.71 high category) compares to the control group (N-Gain 0,38 middle category).

The mechanical properties of materials deteriorate when hydrogen embrittlement (HE) occurs, seriously threatening the reliability and durability of the hydrogen system. Therefore, it is important to summarize the status and development trends of research on HE. This study reviewed 6676 publications concerned with HE from 1997 to 2022 based on the Web of Science Core Collection. VOSviewer was used to conduct the bibliometric analysis and produce visualizations of the publications. The results showed that the number of publications on HE increased after 2007, especially between 2017 and 2019. Japan was the country with the highest numbers of productive authors and citations of publications, and the total number of citations of Japanese publications was 24,589. Kyushu University was the most influential university, and the total number of citations of Kyushu University publications was 7999. Akiyama was the most prolific and influential author, publishing 88 publications with a total of 2565 citations. The USA, South Korea and some European countries are also leading in HE research; these countries have published more than 200 publications. It was also found that the HE publications generally covered five topics: “Hydrogen embrittlement in different materials”, “Effect of hydrogen on mechanical properties of materials”, “Effect of alloying elements or microstructure on hydrogen embrittlement”, “Hydrogen transport”, and “Characteristics and mechanisms of hydrogen related failures”. Research hotspots included “Fracture failure behavior and analysis”, “Microstructure”, “Hydrogen diffusion and transport”, “Mechanical properties”, “Hydrogen resistance”, and so on. These covered the basic methods and purposes of HE research. Finally, the distribution of the main subject categories of the publications was determined, and these categories covered various topics and disciplines. This study establishes valuable reference information for the application and development of HE research and provides a convenient resource to help researchers and scholars understand the development trends and research directions in this field.

The article presents literary, sociological and cultural points of view on the problem of the literary canon, describes the mechanisms of canonization and defines the boundaries of the Russian classics. The author discovers a connection between the texts claiming the status of the canonical hierarchy and the question of ethnicity. The article establishes that the construction of both a national self-portrait and the image of a foreigner (the Other) are the most important functions of the classical canon. The object of this research is a unified discursive field of Russian classical literature. The subject is the generalized image of the German that forms in this field. The author, resorting references to current research practices of discourse analysis, establishes that the portrait of a German is based on such conceptual categories as: 1) the connection with the soil and nature, 2) the connection with roots, 3) reliance on reality and "mundanity", 4) planning, 5) positivism and subordination, 6) perception of life as a mechanism. The construction of the Other creates an opposition to the "Russian" in the structure of the classical text and builds a series of binary pairs: heredity / freedom, stability on the ground / ability to jump, clear planning / dreaminess, legalism / Paschality, self-aggrandizement / self-abasement, godlessness / Orthodoxy. The article reveals that the German hero acts as a constituent of the Other, provoking self-determination and self-identification.

Hydrogen is a notoriously difficult substance to store yet has endless energy applications. Thus, the study of long-term hydrogen storage, and high-pressure bulk hydrogen storage have been the subject of much research in the last several years. To create a research path forward, it is important to know what research has already been done, and what is already known about hydrogen storage. In this review, several approaches to hydrogen storage are addressed, including high-pressure storage, cryogenic liquid hydrogen storage, and metal hydride absorption. Challenges and advantages are offered based on reported research findings. Since the project looks closely at advanced manufacturing, techniques for the same are outlined as well. There are seven main categories into which most rapid prototyping styles fall. Each is briefly explained and illustrated as well as some generally accepted advantages and drawbacks to each style. An overview of hydrogen adsorption on metal hydrides, carbon fibers, and carbon nanotubes are presented. The hydrogen storage capacities of these materials are discussed as well as the differing conditions in which the adsorption was performed under. Concepts regarding storage shape and materials accompanied by smaller-scale advanced manufacturing options for hydrogen storage are also presented.

The main factors influencing the choice of individual subjects of the scientific activity or potential partners and executors for scientific and educational projects were analyzed. The specific features of choosing project executors of different categories were indicated. The functional responsibilities of project participants in accordance with the project structure were described. The individually oriented method for choosing subjects of scientific activity as executors of scientific and educational projects was developed, taking into account the productivity of their scientific activities in the past and considering the structure of projects. To determine the merits of the subjects of scientific activity, which are included in the relevant scientific subject spaces, it is necessary to apply the procedure of their productivity assessment. In addition, it is necessary to predict a change in productivity in the future based on retrospective data for this subject. Next, it is required to solve the multi-criteria problem of the choice among the subjects of scientific activity who are quite productive in the opinion of the project manager. The use of the developed method reduces the subjective impact on making a decision regarding the choice of project executors. This is due to the fact that they are chosen by automated calculation of scientometric indicators of subjects, guided only by open sources of information. The individually oriented method for the selection of subjects of scientific activity was verified on the example of the formation of three applications of research projects. As a result, the average percentage of scientists who meet the requirements of project managers for each scientific subject space was about 46.55 %. The percentage of those involved in the project from those who were selected is about 24.07 %. The probability of cooperation is higher among those who have an average H-index.

This work aims to cover the measurement, modeling, and analysis of waveform distortions in railway power systems. It is focused on waveform distortion as a phenomenon that includes harmonic distortion, interharmonic distortion, and supraharmonics. A comprehensive view of the interactions of waveform distortions in railway systems is needed, together with a grid perspective of power quality incorporating all aspects, sources, propagation, requirements, and effects. It is understood that the communities interested or involved in the subject of railway power systems would benefit from an integrated overview of the literature on the complex problem of waveform distortion. The literature review is divided into four categories: characterization and measurements, modeling, the application of artificial intelligence, and specific issues. For each category of work, the contributions are highlighted, and a discussion on opportunities, gaps, and critical observations is provided. The work successfully builds a framework for the subject with two main characteristics; the review is informative and propositional, providing a road map of opportunities for future works. Some aspects and recommendations can be highlighted. Suggestions for future works and research practices on waveform distortion in electrical transportation are offered.

In this article study the main application of optimization theory in teaching of prominent Chinese-style wrestling in normal college sports elective course, in the process of teaching, a further study needed in optimizing teaching content, teaching methods, teaching structure, teaching evaluation. In addition that, because of much to optimization subject in the Optimization Research in Teaching, so this paper mainly evaluate the effect on the curriculum, the attitude of learning and the effect of mastering the skills during the research process. Evaluation of the content is not comprehensive enough so in the future need to go further.

Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technology is one of the best methods for fast 3D reconstruction and mapping. However, the accuracy of SLAM is not always high enough, which is currently the subject of much research interest. Panoramic vision can provide us with a wide range of angles of view, many feature points, and rich information. The panoramic multi-view cross-imaging feature can be used to realize instantaneous omnidirectional spatial information acquisition and improve the positioning accuracy of SLAM. In this study, we investigated panoramic visual SLAM positioning technology, including three core research points: (1) the spherical imaging model; (2) spherical image feature extraction and matching methods, including the Spherical Oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (SPHORB) and ternary scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) algorithms; and (3) the panoramic visual SLAM algorithm. The experimental results show that the method of panoramic visual SLAM can improve the robustness and accuracy of a SLAM system.

Tissue spheroids consist of a three-dimensional model of cells which is capable of imitating the complicated composition of healthy and unhealthy human tissue. Due to their unique properties, they can bring innovative solutions to tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, where they can be used as building blocks for the formation of organ and tissue models used in drug experimentation. Considering the rapid transformation of the health industry, it is crucial to assess the research dynamics of this field to support the development of innovative applications. In this research, a scientometric analysis was performed as part of a Competitive Technology Intelligence methodology, to determine the main applications of tissue spheroids. Papers from Scopus and Web of Science published between 2000 and 2019 were organized and analyzed. In total, 868 scientific publications were identified, and four main categories of application were determined. Main subject areas, countries, cities, authors, journals, and institutions were established. In addition, a cluster analysis was performed to determine networks of collaborations between institutions and authors. This article provides insights into the applications of cell aggregates and the research dynamics of this field, which can help in the decision-making process to incorporate emerging and innovative technologies in the health industry.

In recent years, the algae-bacteria symbiotic system has played a significant role in the sustainable development of wastewater treatment. With the continuous expansion of research outputs, publications related to wastewater treatment via algal-bacterial consortia appear to be on the rise. Based on SCI-EXPANDED database, this study investigated the research activities and tendencies of algae-bacteria symbiotic wastewater treatment technology by bibliometric method from 1998 to 2017. The results indicated that environmental sciences and ecology was the most productive subject categories, followed by engineering. Bioresource Technology was the most prominent journal in this field with considerable academic influence. China (146), USA (139) and Spain (76) had the largest amount of publications. Among them, USA was in a leading position in international cooperation, with the highest h-index (67) in 79 countries/territories. The cooperation between China and USA was the closest. The cooperative publishing rate of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was 83.33%, but most of them were in cooperation with domestic institutions, while international cooperation was relatively limited. Methane production, biofuel production, and extracellular polymeric substance were future focal frontiers of research, and this field had gradually become a multi-perspective and inter-disciplinary approach combining biological, environmental and energy technologies.

The article describes the system of scientific-engineering training at the Plasma Physics Department at the Physical Department, NSU with the active participation in this process of researchers from the plasma laboratories of the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The text gives an idea of plasma as a subject studied in this department, and then consistently reflects the following information: the history of the department, the special courses taught in the department, the subjects of undergraduate and graduate theses, the achievements of graduates of the department in the last decade. Taking into account the main topic of scientific research in the plasma laboratories of the BINP SB RAS, the text gives an overview of the work at the plasma facilities operating at the institute and outlines the prospect of creating a next-generation linear plasma trap (GDMT). Particular attention is paid to the prospect of using open magnetic systems for hot plasma confinement in relation to solving the problem of controlled thermonuclear fusion, since these systems should serve as the field of primary activity for future graduates of the Department of Plasma Physics.

With the rapid development of Internet of Things technology, cloud computing, and big data, the combination of medical systems and information technology has become increasingly close. However, the emergence of intelligent medical systems has brought a series of network security threats and hidden dangers, including data leakage and remote attacks, which can directly threaten patients’ lives. To ensure the security of medical information systems and expand the application of zero trust in the medical field, we combined the medical system with the zero-trust security system to propose a zero-trust medical security system. In addition, in its dynamic access control module, based on the RBAC model and the calculation of user behavior risk value and trust, an access control model based on subject behavior evaluation under zero-trust conditions (ABEAC) was designed to improve the security of medical equipment and data. Finally, the feasibility of the system is verified through a simulation experiment.

In this research, a survey was conducted to assess the internet dependency among the young housewives in Klang Valley. Data collected from an online survey which was responded by 200 respondents is analysed for usage pattern and allowing the identification of the seriousness of internet addiction for segment. It is found that there are many problematic use of the technology which may impact life quality of the housewives, children under their care, and the family at large. Recommendation are made to towards a more appropriate use of the technology.

This article provides a bibliometric overview of publications on eLearning trends in STE(A)M teaching and learning to give readers a better understanding of the current state of research in the field. The main objective of this study is to provide bibliometric data on publications on online teaching and learning trends for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education (STEM) teaching and learning purposes printed in journals included in the Scopus database in the years 2011-2023. For the bibliometric analysis, STEM learning, STEM teaching, online education, bibliometric review keywords were used, and 136 documents from the Scopus database were chosen. The collected data of the publications scanned and published in the parameters of the study were subjected to a bibliometric analysis based on seven categories: number of articles and citations per year, most influential countries, most prolific author, most prominent affiliations, funding institutions, publication source, and subject areas. Network diagrams and bibliometric analyses were created using the Scopus database analysis. Most of the articles were published between 2016 and 2022. The United States of America, the United Kingdom, and China were among the top-three most productive countries, and the United States of America produced the most publications. The number of citations to publications indexed in the Scopus database is growing steadily and reached its peak in 2022 (178 citations). The most prolific author on this subject is Minichiello, A., with four publications. In addition, Stanford University and Utah State University have maximum publishing partners. By funding 16 publications for online STEM teaching and learning, the National Science Foundation has shown leadership. The topic areas of the publications’ distribution were looked at. The articles’ respective fields of study were social sciences and computer science. This study offers a vision for future research as well as a worldwide view of online learning for STEM teaching and learning.

The subject of research is a phenomenon of prosumption, i.e., the intertwining of consumption and production processes, until the differences between them are blurred. When consumers produce goods and services for their use, they become prosumers. The article aimed to assess consumer behavior in terms of various forms of prosumer activity on the market of household-related services. The types of prosumer activity of rural households and their size were determined during the analyses. The article uses primary sources from a survey conducted among residents of rural areas of the Masovian Voivodeship in Poland in 2017. Statistical, descriptive, and comparative methods were used. The research shows that consumers are very active in the field of prosumption, rationally running their households. The study used principal component analysis (PCA) and selected descriptive statistics. The research results showed that the services performed can be grouped into three categories, i.e., the index of basic living self-sufficiency of households, the index of renovation and repair self-sufficiency, and the index of professional self-sufficiency of farms. Consumers usually prepare meals at home and clean, iron, and wash clothes, thus reducing the costs of running a household. It is also popular to carry out repairs oneself or to carry out repairs of equipment at home.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the content of the methodology of teaching the course «Start-up-technology» to future border guards. Applied research methods: search and bibliographic (for systematization and organization of the source base; system and subject analysis (to clarify the content of scientific and pedagogical concepts and categories in accordance with the research problem); analysis of scientific and methodological literature, dictionary and reference literature). The article highlights the specifics of the methodology of teaching the discipline «Start-up Technology» to future border guards. The authors touched upon the problems of the quality of higher education in Ukraine, and in particular higher military education. A number of scientific works on the research problem are analysed: publications, monographs, and dissertations. The essence of the methodology of teaching «Start-up-technologies» the authors revealed on the example of the specialty «Telecommunications and Radio Engineering» at the Border Academy. The main features of the methodology are: construction of the working program of the prescribed discipline, taking into account the content of the professional activities of border guards; the distribution of classroom hours was carried out in such a way that most of them provided practical training for future border guards. Approximately 26 teaching hours out of 46 classroom classes are practical classes, the rest are lectures and seminars; a wide range of pedagogical technologies was used during practical and seminar classes with future border guards: from interactive conversations to collaborative technologies; ensuring interdisciplinary communication, as «Start-up technologies» are related to the disciplines «Philosophy», «Political and economic systems», «Project management» and others; use of managerial potential of academic discipline, in order to form the ability to make decisions and awareness of responsibility for these decisions; formation of a new style of thinking, demonstrated by the owners of start-ups around the world; expanding the worldview of border cadets; ensuring the education of future border officers, in particular such qualities as tolerance, restraint, etc.

This research is a development research with a 4D development model. The study was conducted in class XII IPA 1 and IPA 2 in SMA Negeri 1 Moutong, each class consisted of 25 students. The instruments used were observation sheets, test questions and documentation. The data obtained consisted of experimental class data and control class data. For Cognitive tests in the experimental class, data were obtained that the percentage of graduation was 89%, while for the control class the percentage of graduation was 76%. For the attitude assessment, in the experimental class the total percentage of all meetings was 84,4%, while in the control class the total percentage of all meetings was 79%. For the Skills assessment, in the experimental class the total percentage of all meetings was 80%, while in the control class the total percentage of all meetings was 76%. For Percentage of Activity of Students, in the experimental class the total percentage of all meetings was 81,3%, while in the control class the total percentage of all meetings was 79,1%. Then from the process of analyzing Validity, Reliability, Difficulty Index, and Differences in the items it was found that, 24 items were received from a total of 25 items submitted. As well as in the interview results were found, namely a positive response from the teacher and students interviewed. The performance of the Android application is very good, able to calculate each score of the experimental class students in 0 (zero) seconds. So, it was concluded that the learning devices developed and assisted with Android were valid, practical and effective quality.

Most biomechanical research has focused on level-ground walking giving less attention to other conditions. As a result, most lower limb prosthesis studies have focused on sagittal plane movements. In this paper, an ESR foot is presented, of which five different stiffnesses were optimized for as many weight categories of users. It is characterized by a spherical ankle joint, with which, combined with the elastic elements, the authors wanted to create a prosthesis that gives the desired stiffness in the sagittal plane but at the same time, gives flexibility in the other planes to allow the adaptation of the foot prosthesis to the ground conditions. The ESR foot was preliminarily tested by participants with transfemoral amputation. After a brief familiarization with the device, each participant was asked to wear markers and to walk on a sensorized treadmill to measure their kinematics and kinetics. Then, each participant was asked to leave feedback via an evaluation questionnaire. The measurements and feedback allowed us to evaluate the performance of the prosthesis quantitatively and qualitatively. Although there were no significant improvements on the symmetry of the gait, due also to very limited familiarization time, the participants perceived an improvement brought by the spherical ankle joint.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the key productivity constraints faced by New Zealand (NZ) road pavement maintenance and rehabilitation contractors (RPMRCs) and the associated mitigation measures. Design/methodology/approach Interview-based exploratory research strategy was used to survey senior managers and directors of medium- to large-sized road contracting firms in NZ. Empirical data were analyzed using the multi-attribute analytical technique. Findings Results revealed 70 productivity constraints faced by the RPMRCs in NZ; in diminishing order of influence, these constraints were aggregated into eight broad categories as follows: finance, workforce, technology/process, statutory/regulatory compliance, project characteristics, project management/project team characteristics, unforeseen circumstances and other/external factors. The most important constraints in each of the eight broad categories were presented. Research limitations/implications The key limitation of the research is that it was based on feedback from a limited number of participants which were less than the minimum required to represent the views of the potential participants in the sampling frame for the study. As a result, the findings may not be reliably generalized beyond the scope of the data used. Further research on the subject is recommended to ensure that the representation of the views of the individuals and companies that comprised the sampling frame is achieved. The current findings could be formulated as propositions or hypotheses to be tested in future confirmatory research. Practical implications At the industry level, the findings could provide the basis for the skill development programs of the NZ RPMRCs. The application of the research findings by the RPMRCs and consultants could result in significant improvement in the productivity of the NZ roading sector and the sector’s enhanced contribution to the economy. Originality/value Currently, there is little research on the priority constraints to productivity and performance in the NZ roading sector. The findings contribute to knowledge by revealing critical factors constraining productivity performance of the NZ RMRCs and the associated improvement measures. New and more enriching viewpoints were provided on how contractors could leverage their limited resources to address the identified key constraints.

Advances in technology have not only given rise to many important questions in bioethics but have also made the whole subject something of an ethical minefield. Bioethics now involves practices that give rise to ethical dilemmas in such diverse fields as medicine (genetic engineering, gene editing, genome testing, and cloning), biology (environmental issues, genetically modified food production, and cloning of animals in agriculture), and even physics and chemistry (for example, the search for more efficient methods of energy production). The success and future potential of scientific research in bioethics has contributed to the growing perception that science has a kind of hegemony over modern life, and this brings with it a temptation to make scientists the gurus of modern culture, to look to them for answers to all human problems.
