Анотація:
A new class of program-oriented logical formalisms is investigated – renominative logics with extended renominations, equality predicates, and predicate complement composition. Composition algebras and languages of such logics are described; their semantic properties are investigated. For these logics, a number of logical consequence relations are proposed and investigated, in particular, the logical consequence relations with undefinedness conditions. Properties of these relations form the semantic basis for further construction of sequent-type calculi for the proposed logics.

Statement of the problem. The article analyzes the methods of paroemias’ and the colloquial units’ renomination in the texts of French literary translations of a high degree of national color. Results. A comparative analysis of the paroemias of the source and target texts was carried out. The main ways of transferring Russian proverbs and sayings in the French text were revealed. The methods of transmission of colloquial and vernacular were determined. The degree of adaptation of the elements of «foreign» linguoculture in French was analyzed. Conclusion. The renomination of individual author's paroemias was carried out through their «own» paroemias / fixed expressions and semantic calques. Paroemias fixed in dictionaries were renominated through free words combinations, semantic calques from the source text, and their «own» paroemias / fixed expressions. Calque is peculiar to the transfer of invented (occasional) paroemias, due to which there is familiarization with «foreign» linguoculture and preservation of the artistic and stylistic function of the source text. When transferring paroemias fixed by dictionaries, «own» paroemias were often used, due to which the linguocultural adaptation of «foreign» reality is achieved. The renomination of paroemias through free words combinations does not occur in the transmission of invented (occasional) paroemias and is very few in the transmission of paroemias fixed by dictionaries. The renomination of colloquial and vernacular elements was carried out by means of «own» language through elements of different language levels. The French linguistic culture has wide renominative possibilities for the integration and adaptation of «foreign» linguistic and cultural reality.

Анотація:
This article investigates accountability in South Africa’s dominant party system by studying how the African National Congress (ANC) reacts to electoral incentives at the local level. It compares the ANC’s degree of responsiveness to voters across municipalities with different levels of political competition. The analysis focuses on whether and under which conditions the ANC is more likely to renominate better quality municipal councillors. It examines the relationship between renomination as ANC municipal councillor and local government performance – as measured by voter signals, service delivery and audit outcomes. The results show that the ANC does indeed adapt its behaviour to electoral incentives. In municipalities where the ANC has larger margins of victory, performance matters little for renomination. In contrast, in municipalities with higher electoral competition, local government performance is strongly correlated with renomination. These results suggest the need to expand dominant party research to topics of voter responsiveness and sub-national behaviour.

Анотація:
Постановка задачи. В данной статье анализируются способы реноминации паремий и входящих в их состав разговорно-просторечных единиц в текстах французских художественных переводов высокой степени национальной окраски. Результаты. Проведен сравнительный анализ паремий исходного и переводного текстов. Выявлены основные способы передачи во французском тексте русских пословиц и поговорок. Определены способы передачи разговорно-просторечных единиц. Проанализирована степень адаптированности элементов «чужой» лингвокультуры во французском переводном тексте. Выводы. Реноминация индивидуально-авторских паремий осуществлялась через «свои» паремии / устойчивые выражения и семантические кальки. Паремии, отраженные в словарях, реноминировались через свободные сочетания, семантические кальки с исходного текста и «свои» паремии / устойчивые выражения. Калькирование свойственно передаче авторских паремий, за счет чего происходит освоение «чужой» лингвокультуры и сохранение художественной и стилистической функции исходного текста. При передаче зафиксированных словарями паремий чаще использовались «свои» паремии, за счет чего достигается лингвокультурная адаптация «чужой» действительности. Реноминация паремий через свободные сочетания не встречается при передаче индивидуально-авторских паремий и очень немногочисленна при передаче паремий зафиксированных словарями. Реноминация разговорно-просторечных элементов осуществлялась средствами «своего» языка через элементы разных языковых уровней. Французская лингвокультура обладает широкими реноминативными возможностями для интеграции и адаптации «чужой» языковой и культурной действительности. Statement of the problem. Анотація:
Lexical-and-semantic class of personal names is characterized with a number of specific properties and functions. Synchronically, without appealing to etymology, those individual (individualized) names fulfil a secondary nomination function due to their semiotic function, which makes it possible interpret personal names as symbolic cultural codes belonging to national linguistic worldviews. Still, in course of cross-cultural communication, linguistic contacts demand personal names be translated from one language to another one. The aim of the article is to demonstrate the possibility of adaptation of personal names conserving their own semiotic and national identity while being globally transposed both into various languages and linguistic worldviews, including the general global linguistic worldview. As is generally acknowledged, due to the intranslatability of personal names, though languages of the European area reveal some correlations, the principle method to adapt them in literary and mass-media texts as well as in course of colloquial communication is the transformation of their exterior sound-and-letter form, so the foreground is made by the norms and rules of transliteration on the basis of the so-called “ideal” Latin alphabet and “practical” transcription which are closely interconnected and fixed as standard ones in the documents of international associations, e.g., ISO, MFO, etc. However, the alphabets and pronouncing norms of national languages are realized controversially which inevitably leads to developing variations and the necessity to revise the established standards. The implicitly positive result of personal names adaptation is the unification of transliteration, considering that even for languages using the hieroglyphic or letter-syllabic writing systems, special alphabets are developed, e.g., pingyin for Chinese or hangul for Korean, which have to provide the conventional communication in the intersection of languages and culture.

Tapas as a part of menu refer to the nonequivalent lexics, which only complicates the translation of such elements, because they belong to exoticisms, words with the cultural shade. In linguistics, the realia of the subject were investigated by: R.Zorivchak, S. Vlakhov S. Florin, V. Vinogradov and others. In Spain this is one of the most popular topics for research. But some linguists and translators generally do not distinguish the term “realia”, for example, A. Popovich, doesn’t mention “realia” in the dictionary of translation analysis” at all. In order to achieve an adequate translation of the names of national cuisine, transcription and transliteration, calques, descriptive, generalized, and transformational methods of translation are used. During the study of the translation of the names of the national cuisine of Spain, it was found that it would be more appropriate to translate them in a mixed way, combining transcription, transliteration or translation, and descriptive translation (giving it in the footnote). But the most frequent are transcription, calques together with renomination (a combination of the above-mentioned transcripts with descriptive translation) (tapas-tapas, (transcription); tortilla – тортілья (transliteration); pinchos – пінчос (transcription + it is desirable to give an explanation-footnote at the bottom of the page that is a tapas , but on a spree (typical of northern Spain); pan catalán – каталонський хліб (calque), gazpacho, salmorejo – газпачо, сальморехо (transcription), paella – паелья (transliteration). In the case where there is no equivavalent in the language of the translation: fabada – фаба-да, jamón – хамон, churros – чуррос (traditional Spanish donuts, which Spaniards usually eat on Sundays), boquerones – Spanish version of the Ukrainian capalin fish, we will often encounter calques, transliteration with renomination or simply descriptive translation: chocos – кальмари, which are cut in stripes, not rings (no to confuse with the calamares fritas), and so on.

Dans l'Algérie colonisée, la loi du 23 mars 1882 instaura l'état civil« des Indigènes musulmans d'Algérie» en imposant à tous les Algériens de porter un patronyme. Les Kabyles ont perçu le dispositif d'état civil comme un procédé destiné à les ficher et à les dominer. Il en est résulté jusqu'à ce jour la coexistence de deux systèmes de nomination, la nomination par le nom patronymique du colonisateur et de l'administration algérienne qui en a pris le relais, (Lacoste-Dujardin, 2005) et la nomination basée sur la parenté selon la culture kabyle. La question de notre thèse est la suivante: quelles sont les stratégies psychiques mises en place par la population kabyle pour réussir à faire cohabiter les deux systèmes de nomination ? Notre démarche de recherche s'inscrit dans une méthodologie de théorisation ancrée (Glaser et Strauss, 1967; Charmaz, 2014). Nous avons réalisé 24 entretiens de récit de vie (Bertaux, 2006) et quatre focus group (au total de 43 participants) en langue kabyle à Tizi-Ouzou (Algérie). Lors de cette étape, celle d'analyse et de discussion, la démarche complémentariste (Deveaux, 1969, 1972) a été centrale. Nos résultats ont mis en évidence six catégories théorisantes qui expliquent les processus psychiques et groupaux qui ont permis la cohabitation de la nomination selon la culture locale et la nomination française chez notre population de recherche. Le sentiment d'injustice et de non reconnaissance de leur histoire familiale ainsi qu'une atteinte à leur intégrité psychique et à celle de leurs aïeux, d'après notre analyse, renforcent le sentiment de fierté et le culte de loyauté au mythe fondateur de la lignée avec des mécanismes de refoulement, des représentations partagées, des idéaux, des repères identificatoires en lien avec les accords et désaccords sur la renomination. Cela a créé des pactes, des contrats et des alliances inconscients. Ces mécanismes communs restent distincts dans la sphère intrapsychique et dans l'univers groupal
In colonized Algeria, the law of March 23, 1882 established the civil status of "lndigenous Muslims of Algeria" by requiring all Algerians to have a surname. The Kabyles perceived the civil status system as a process intended to file and dominate them. This has resulted to this day in the coexistence of two systems of nomination, nomination by the patronymic name of the colonizer and the Algerian administration which took over, (Lacoste-Dujardin, 2005) and nomination based on kinship according to Kabyle culture. The question of our thesis is the following: what are the psychological strategies put in place by the Kabyle population to succeed in making the two systems of nomination coexist? Our research approach is part of a grounded theory methodology (Glaser and Strauss, 1967; Charmaz, 2014). We conducted 24 life story interviews (Bertaux, 2006) and four focus groups (a total of 43 participants) in the Kabyle language in Tizi-Ouzou (Algeria). During this stage, that of analysis and discussion, the complementarist approach (Deveaux, 1969, 1972) was central. Our results highlighted six theorizing categories that explain the psychic and group processes that allowed the coexistence of naming according to local culture and French naming in our research population. The feeling of injustice and non-recognition of their family history as well as an attack on their psychological integrity and that of their ancestors, according to our analysis, reinforce the feeling of pride and the cuit of loyalty to the founding myth of the lineage with mechanisms of repression, shared representations, ideals, identifying markers linked to agreements and disagreements on reappointment. This created unconscious pacts, contracts and alliances. These common mechanisms remain distinct in the intrapsychic sphere and in 1 the group universe

Em consequência de estudos desenvolvidos no âmbito da “Análise da Acção Educativa”, esta investigação pretende contribuir com algo inovador no quadro das Ciências da Educação, perspectivando uma melhoria das aprendizagens dos alunos e das práticas pedagógicas dos professores. No seu quadro conceptual desenvolveu-se o significado de “Carta de Sinais”, já lançado em sede de dissertação de mestrado, avançando-se agora para o diagnóstico de necessidades educativas dos alunos e formativas dos professores, transportando-nos da caracterização dos contextos educativos para a organização e construção de uma “Carta de Intervenção Estratégica” com medidas curativas a implementar no imediato ou a curto prazo, remediativas para aplicação a médio prazo e preventivas a longo prazo, mas transversais a todo o processo. Este estudo de natureza qualitativa, estudo de caso, segue o paradigma “Investigação-Acção/Formação, sendo o objectivo geral dotar a Escola de instrumentos “Soft” para que se organize, enquanto estrutura “Sensível e Transformacionista”, como Observatório de Diagnóstico de Necessidades Educativas de Alunos e Formativas de Professores. Ao concebermos o ensino como um processo dinâmico onde os alunos aprendam e professores ensinem em clima de alteridade, os objectivos específicos são a construção de instrumentos, que permitam à Escola promover a formação em contexto dos seus professores tornando-os competentes para diagnosticarem as necessidades educativas específicas dos alunos, e a organização de estruturas de renomeação de experiências, que designámos por “Oficinas de Reconfiguração do Conhecimento Mediatizado”. This investigation aims to contribute with something innovation within the Educational Sciences and to improve the knowledge acquired by students and the pedagogical practice of the teachers, as a consequence of the developed studies concerning «The Analysis of the Educational Sciences». In its conceptual area the meaning of “Signs Letter”, already launched in the mastership essay, has developed and now we carry on to the diagnosis of the students’ educational needs and teachers formative needs, transporting us from the characterization of the educational contexts to the organization and construction of a «Strategic Intervention Letter» with healing measures to fulfil immediately or on a short-terms basis, remediative to the application on a medium-terms basis and preventive on a long-terms basis, but transversal to all the process. This study of qualificative nature, case-study, follows the example «Investigation-Action/formation» being its main aim to give the School “Soft Instruments” for it to organize itself while «Sensitive and transformist» structure, as “Observatory of Diagnosis of Student’s Special Educational Needs and Teacher’s Formation”. By considering teaching a dynamic process where students are taught and teachers teach in an alternating clime, the specific aims are the building of instruments, which allow School to promote the formation in context of is teachers donating them the competence to diagnose the specific educational needs of the students, and the organization of experiences renomination structures, that we call «Workshop on Reconfiguration of the Mediatized Knowledge». The validity of the process «Investigation-Action/formation» has showed itself as an accelerator of the investigation process and the importance revealed by the «Workshop on Reconfiguration of the Mediatized Knowledge» for the students in the comprehensive agility of apprenticeship, and for the teachers as they bring forward their needs of formation, having “Help Pedagogy” as a basys.
Cette recherche issue d´éstudes développées dans le cadre de l´“Analyse de l’Action Éducative” cherche à apporter sa contribuition inovatrice dans le cadre des Siences de l’Éducation, visant à améhiorer les apprentissages des élèves et les pratiques pédagogiques des enseignant. Nous envisageons, de développer le concept de “Charte de Signaux”, concept déjà proposé dans la dissertation du master. Nous nous proposons maintenant de faire le diagnostique des besoins éducatifs des élèves e formatifs des ensignants en partant de la caractérisation des contextes éducatifs pour l’organisation et construction d’une “Carte d´ Intervention Stratégique” avec les mesures suivantes: curatives à appliquer dans l’immédiat ou à court terme; remédiatives à appliquer à moyen terme; préventives à long terme mais transversales à tout le processus. Cette étude de nature qualitative, étude de cas, suit le paradigme “Investigation-Action/Formation” dont l’objectif général est de doter l’École d’outils “soft” pour qu’elle s’organise en tant que structure “Sensible et Transformatrice” et comme observatoire de diagnostique des besoin éducatifs des élèves et formatifs des enseignants. Lorsqu’on conçoit l’enseignement comme un processus dynamique où les élèves apprennent et les enseignants ensegnent dans um climat d’altérité les objectifs spécifiques sont: Construire des outils pour que l’école promeuve la formation, en situation réelle, de ses enseignants pour qu’ils puissent diagnostiquer les besoins educatifs spécifiques des élèves; creer des stuctures de renomination d’experiences que dans notre cas, nous avon désigné par “Ateliers de Reconfiguration de la Connaissance Médiatisée”. Nous avons demontré la validité du processus “Recherche-Action/Formation” entant que cataliseur de la recherche et l’importance que le role dês “Ateliers de Reconfiguration de la Connaissance” joue dans le prosesus. Et ceci pour les élèves atteignent plus rapidement la compréhension des apprentissages et pour que les enseignants atteignent l’eclairissement des besoins latents de la formation fondée sur la pédagogie d’aide.

This chapter suggests that Abraham Lincoln's failed senatorial bid in the 1858 elections allowed him to know who really cared about the results, and that they had come to trust him. In a March 8, 1958, letter to Owen Lovejoy, Lincoln ended with the statement “Let this be strictly confidential...I have some valued friends who would not like me any the better for writing it.” This cautionary tone is proof that Lincoln trusted Lovejoy enough to risk giving him candid information. After discussing Lovejoy's speech accepting his unanimous renomination to the U.S. Congress, this chapter considers Lovejoy and Lincoln's opinions on Negro equality. It also examines Lincoln's debates with Stephen A. Douglas in each of Illinois's seven congressional districts over the issue of slavery. Finally, it describes Lovejoy's victory in the 1858 elections and Lincoln's disagreement with the notion that he had made the wrong choice by keeping his principles and coming too close to Lovejoy.

Abstract This chapter examines the determinants of candidate turnover: the effects of party size, changes in party popularity, socio-economic factors, and corruption. It starts by testing the theoretical model proposed at the end of Chapter 2 using the ‘Electoral Candidates in Central and Eastern Europe’ (ECCEE) data set and finds support for the model regarding the effect of party size and our notion of feasible and non-feasible candidates. Electoral change affects candidate dropout and novelty differently: a larger change increases the dropout rate regardless of whether parties lose or gain support; higher novelty is only associated with increasing party support, while stagnant and decreasing levels of support are associated with a similar (lower) novelty. The final section of the chapter provides an example of a practical application of the model by discussing the impact of corruption on candidate turnover and testing two competing hypotheses: (1) rejuvenation, whereby increased perceptions of corruption trigger the renewal of candidate lists; and (2) renomination, whereby corruption leads to the renomination of old candidates and the stagnation of the candidate pool. The rejuvenation hypothesis receives more support, but only among governing parties.

This chapter focuses on Grover Cleveland's reelection. President Benjamin Harrison administration was one of the best America has ever had. The president was an able lawyer and a great statesman but he was not what may be called a tactful politician. He was plain, honest, candid, and outspoken. He was not only emphatic in giving expression to his opinions, but he was sometimes unfortunate in using language that was more forceful than the occasion required. He never failed to consult and confer with the representative men of his party in and out of Congress about making appointments to office, but he would not always accept their suggestions or act favorably upon their recommendations. In fact, such suggestions and recommendations were frequently ignored and disregarded. In this way and on this account he made more enemies than friends among the representative men of his own party. In his candidacy for renomination in 1892, those men were, of course, against him.

: Street names – like anthroponyms and place names in general – enjoy great general interest. This is certainly also due to their visibility and relevance for orientation in public space. The focus of this paper is on the street names in the city of Sibiu (Hermannstadt, Romania) in the 20th century where nowadays a majority of Romanians live together with the Hungarians and the traditionally Germanspeaking Saxons. In the course of the 20th century, bilingualism was introduced to street names, and in the wake of political changes multiple renamings took place. The aim of this study is to illustrate these renominations by means of examples.
