Red chilli is one of basic commodities in Indonesia, in household consumption and raw material of industry even though the price of red chilli not only often fluctuates but also contributing to inflation. Policies taken by the government against the red chilli was with the application of the reference price, as the management of importation, for stabilizing the price of red chilli. This study aims to see the effectiveness of the reference price policy in influencing red chilli deals through red chilli import management and determine the factors that affect the red chilli deals in the effort to stabilize the price, using two stage least square (TSLS) simultaneous model with secondary data from Desember 2010- September 2016. In this study, red chili supply models in Indonesia consisted of five equations, four structural equations, and one identity equation. The structural equation consisted of red chili production, red chili import, red chili export, and red chili prices while the identity equation namely red chili supply. The results showed that reference price application had not been effective because it was not able to manage the importation properly, caused red chilli prices were still fluctuating. Implementation of reference prices did not significantly affect imports and prices, it indicated that the reference price policy was ineffective. This policy should be pursued by strengthening the development of production and to encourage red chilli farmers interest to increase the amount of production for continuity the supply side.

Abstract West Sumatra still stocks local chilies, which, based on information, have good resistance to viruses. This study aims to characterize the morphology of several local red chilies in West Sumatra due to exploration. The characterization refers to general guidelines for compiling descriptions of vegetable (chili) varieties issued by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia in 2021. The qualitative data from the characterization results were processed using the NTsys Ver.2.02 program to see the kinship of several West Sumatra local red chili. In comparison, the quantitative data were analyzed with various values to determine the criteria for diversity. Based on the results of grouping phylogenetic trees, at a similarity coefficient of 59%, two groups were obtained, namely, the first group consisting of Chilli Kawek Solok Selatan and Chilli Kampung Solok Selatan and the second group consisting of chilies from Chilli Kampung Manangah Solok Selatan, Chilli Lotanbar Limapuluh Kota, Chilli Local Dharmasraya 1, Chilli Local Maninjau, Chilli Local Tanah Datar, Chilli Ateng Maninjau, Chilli Local Pesisir Selatan, Chilli Ateng Pasaman Barat, Chilli Local Sijunjung, Chilli Kuhay Padang Pariaman, Chilli Akar Solok Selatan, and Chilli Local Dharmasraya 2. Chilli Kuhay Padang Pariaman, and Chilli Akar Solok Selatan, have the closest relationship, 94%. In general, the chilies resulting from the exploration had narrow criteria for diversity except for the observation of fruit length of the Chilli Local Maninjau variety.

One of the food crops that is considered an essential commodity in Indonesia and has economic value is chilli. Chilli consumption continues to increase, especially red chilli and cayenne pepper, but since the Covid-19 Pandemic, consumption has decreased. Red chilli and cayenne pepper are commodities whose production is seasonal, easily damaged, and uneven throughout Indonesia. The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia was first on the island of Java, which shook the supply of agricultural products and caused colossal price fluctuations in the market. Since the implementation of large-scale restrictions in Indonesia, it has caused a hampering of product distribution between regions. Fluctuations in the price of red chili and cayenne pepper often impact the high contribution of chilli to inflation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the price volatility of red chili on Java Island and the price volatility of cayenne pepper on Java Island. The analysis method used is ARCH GARCH modelling to measure volatility. The results showed that the volatility of red chilli on Java Island is high. In contrast, the volatility of cayenne pepper on Java Island is low.

This training held at Gondang Rejo Farmers Group, Bandar Huluan District, Simalungun District. The purpose of this training is (1) provide broader knowledge to farmers in handling post-harvest red chili; (2) train and guide farmers in managing red chili to become a durable food product; and (3) increasing the economic value of red chili so that farmers do not experience losses when the harvest is abundant, and the price of chili is low. Development of local commodities, especially red chili; providing training material in the process of product manufacturing and packaging; Implementation of this training is the processing of fresh red chili into powdered red chili using a simple dryer and grinder capable of producing chili powder products that have a longer shelf life and are in accordance by the standard.The outcome will developed skill abilty,built networking and encourage red chilli farmers interest to increase the amount of production for continuity the supply side. By developing the downstream red chilli it could increase the income of the red chili farmers.

This study aims to analyze the technical efficiency of red chilli farming, the profitability of red chili farming, and factors that influence the profits of red chili farming and relative economic efficiency. Data collection was carried out in seven sub-districts, namely Sidomulyo, Candipuro, Kalianda, Palas, Penengahan, Ketapang, and Bakauheni of South Lampung District in September 2017 - January 2018. The number of respondents was 41 red chili farmers who were members of the independent Agro Siger Mandiri Cooperative taken by census. Data were analyzed using frontier production functions, income analysis, profit Unit Output Price function, and comparative analysis of relative economic efficiency. The results showed that the red chili farming is veryefficient technically. Red chili farming is beneficial for farmers. The factors influencing the profits of red chili farming are land size, price of pesticides per production, wages of labor per production, and planting groups. Economic efficiency of planting groupone is higher than planting group two.Key words: cooperation, frontier, income, red chilli, technical efficiency

Kerik Village, Takeran District, Magetan Regency, part of the community, work as red chilli farmers. Farmers experience some difficulties in red chilli cultivation because farmers still have little experience in red chilli cultivation. The farmers cannot know the types of diseases and pests and the symptoms that hit chilli plants that can reduce the productivity of chilli plants and can even cause crop failure. In addition, farmers also do not have experience handling it when they encounter problems that hit chilli plants that are being cultivated. To assist farmers in overcoming these problems, a web-based decision support system was built using the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. The decision support system was created and designed using the Waterfall method and tested using the Blackbox Testing system testing method. With this decision support system, it is hoped that it will help farmers in Kerik Village diagnose diseases of the red chilli plants they cultivate. The test results from the Decision Support System for Diagnosing Red Chili Plant Diseases Using the Web-Based TOPSIS Method got the results as expected with the Blackbox Testing test, which brought the results of the percentage of system success of 100%.

Simultaneously consumer opinion has a significant influence in this case because if the opinion of red chili consumers is high it can affect the demand because the size of the opinion will be able to affect the demand for goods tersebuat.. Factors affecting the supplyple used is of red chili in Pasar Raya MMTC Medan simultaneously have a positive effect is the purchase price of red pepper, production cost, profit. Partially production cost give significant influence to red chilli supply in Pasar Raya MMTC Medan.

Chilli (Capsicum annum L.) is a horticulture comodities that high demand because it has a high economic value. The demand of Chilli increase every year as the population grows and the industry grows which requires Chilli as raw materials. The productivity of red chili in Jember Regency is also low, which is only 87.68 quintals hectare-1. Fluctuations in red chili production that occurred in the Jember area were caused by several things including an unsupportive environment such as declining soil fertility, high pest attacks, and excessive use of pesticides. Therefore there is a need for agricultural development in order to be able to meet food needs and increase export opportunities to neighboring countries. The parameters observed in this study were secondary data from the soil unit map. The secondary data referred to are soil drainage, soil depth in cm, slope related to erosion, altitude, standing water, soil cation exchange capacity, and soil pH. The improvement efforts made to improve the land suitability class is by setting the spacing, giving organic matter, agricultural lime, P fertilization, cutting and filling the land with a mound terrace system or bench terrace to reduce soil erosion.

Large red chili pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) has a fairly complete nutrition and economic value. The supply of large red chili in the country is considered low compared to its demand, that’s why we need to increase its production. Increasing production can be done by fertilizing using natural fertilizers is coconut water (Cocos nucifera L.) and administration of Growth Regulatory Substances (ZPT) is atonik. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of coconut water and atonic to the growth of large red chilli pepper sprouts determine which consentration of coconut water and atonic that has the most effective effect to the growth of large chilli pepper. This research was conducted in October - November 2019 at the Botany Laboratory, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Science, University of Lampung. This research was carried out using a 2x3 factorial design using young coconut water (a) with 3 levels of concentration ie 0% v / v (a1), 25% v / v (a2) and 50% v / v (a3) and atonic solution ( b) with 2 concentrations, namely 0% v / v (b1) and 10% v / v (b2). Data analysis is the data homogeneous first with the Levene test at 5% significance level. Data analysis using analysis of variance (Analysis Of Variance) ɑ = 5%. If the interaction between the two factors is real, then proceed with the determination of the simple effect of coconut water at each level of atonic concentration with the F test at 5% significance level. The results of this research shows that the use of atonic and coconut water effects the growth of large red chili plants, and the most effective concentration to the growth of large red chilli pepper plants is the combination of 0% coconut water + 10% atonic.

This study aims to create an arduino- based tool to determine the freshness of red chillies using the TCS230 color sensor to facilitate chilli traders, supermarkets and markets in choosing good and bad quality based on the color of chili. Fresh chili will be red while the bad ones are usually dull red, slightly brownish and yellowish. TCS230 converts the color of light to fermentation with a square signal output with a frequency that is proportional to the current. The working principle is that the chili passes through the TCS230 sensor from the display of this tool, it will be seen the amount of color based on the specified chili criteria will produce chili output through checking and sorting the chillies of good and bad quality.

Red chilli (Capsicum annumm L.) is a commodity with high price fluctuations. Market participants use red chilli price fluctuations to manipulate price information and cause information asymmetry. So that, the price information is not transmitted properly and indicates the market is not integrated. This study aims to describe price developments and analyze the integration of the red chilli market in Malang Regency, Malang City, and Surabaya City. The analytical method used is descriptive statistics, Johansen cointegration, and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results showed that the price of red chilli fluctuated. Red chilli price fluctuations occur because production is seasonal, causing the distribution of chillies to be uneven every month. Therefore, efforts are needed to regulate cropping patterns so that the supply of chilli is always available. The results of market integration show that all variables are cointegrated in the long run and not integrated into the short run. This indicates that price information is transmitted imperfectly. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the information system so that all market participants can access market information.

The purposes of this study were to identify risk components, determine the priority of risk components and formulate a strategy for controlling priority risk components at each stage of the red pepper seed production process. Fuzzy FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis) and AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) were used in this study. The findings of the study showed that production risk has 15 risk components from 6 variables. The highest risk components for each of the red chilli seed production processes, namely, failure in the nursery, seedlings die after planting, changing weather conditions, rotten chilli, damage to the seed release machine and chilli seed moisture content are not according to the standard. AHP calculation results obtained the highest value weighting on the criteria, namely maintenance. An alternative control strategy that has the highest weighting value was caring and maintaining the production environment.

Condition fluctuation production with uncertainty price needs to corrected immediately. Information of price and production need as solution to cope with fluctuation of red chili price. The research method used analytical descriptive method. Location chosen by purposive method at Jember Regency. The research used secondary time series data 2012 until 2016. Analytical tools used probability analysis and plot, trend analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis with double log model. The results showed that (1) production and prices red chili fluctuate every quarterly. The highest red chili price at farmers and consumers level occurred in the fourth quarter and the lowest in the second quarter. Red chili highest production in fourth quarter and lowest in first quarter. (2) Trend production and prices of red chili on 2017 until 2018 fluctuated and increased. (3) Factors that significantly affect of red chili supply are red chili production in previous month and harvested area.

There is a need for identifying the specific environments for the selection of adapted and stable genotypes for quality traits in chilli pepper. Among these quality traits, pungency and coloring matter are the most important ones, which need to be in stable amounts in final products. Hence, this multi-environmental evaluation of chilli pepper genotypes was done in three distinct environments, to identify the suitable environments for selection and also suitable genotypes for specific quality traits. The study includes 43 chilli genotypes tested for three distinct growing conditions for nine different quality traits at Punjab Agricultural University and data was analyzed using Eberhart & Russell?s model and GGE Biplot analysis. The environmental effect accounts for more than 35% variation for the capsaicin in oleoresin and dry matter content. While the traits namely capsaicin content in red powder (3%) and capsaicin in green chili (4.73%) were least influenced by the environment. The contribution of G?E interactions was ? 25% for all the studied traits except ascorbic acid. The genotype AC 101 was best for capsaicin content in green and red chilli powder across the environments. The data generated from this study help to identify the stable and superior genotypes for quality traits in early, main and late-season planting.

Nine different Indian spices (red chilli, black pepper, turmeric, coriander, cumin, fennel, caraway, fenugreek, and dry ginger) commonly cultivated and highly used in India were analysed for natural occurrence of toxigenic mycoflora and aflatoxins (AFs), ochratoxin A (OTA), and citrinin (CTN) contamination.Aspergillus flavusandAspergillus nigerwere the most dominant species isolated from all types of spices. Red chilli samples were highly contaminated with aflatoxins (85.4%) followed by dry ginger (77.7%). 56%Aspergillus flavusfrom red chilli and 45%Aspergillus ochraceusfrom black pepper were toxigenic and produced aflatoxins and ochratoxin A, respectively. Qualitative detection and quantitative detection of mycotoxins in spices were analyzed by ELISA and further confirmed by LC-MS/MS.Penicillium citrinumproduced citrinin in red chilli, black pepper, coriander, cumin, fenugreek, and dry ginger samples. The highest amount of AFs was found in red chilli (219.6 ng/g), OTA was in black pepper (154.1 ng/g), and CTN was in dry ginger samples (85.1 ng/g). The results of this study suggest that the spices are susceptible substrate for growth of mycotoxigenic fungi and further mycotoxin production. This is the first report of natural occurrence of citrinin in black pepper and dry ginger from India.

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) belong to the Arecaceae family, is economically valuable for oil production. The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth of immature oil palm intercropped with red chili pepper and to evaluate the best spacing for red chilli cultivation between immature oil palm. The study was conducted in Rimba Jaya Village, Air Kumbang District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The study began in October 2017 until February 2018. The design used for the red chili pepper cultivation was a one-factor Randomized Block Design. Spacing used as treatments, namely: (M1 = 50 x 50 cm ; M2 = 60 x 60 cm ; M3 = 70 x 70 cm). Treatments were placed in 5 groups. The results showed that plant height, stem diameter, canopy diameter and the greenness level of palm oil leaves did not affect by the presence of red chili pepper. While spacing of 50 x 50 cm provided a positive response to the growth and yield of chili pepper. The highest yield of red chili was 10.41 kg produced in 50 x 50 cm spacing.

Okra is a vegetable crop belonging to Malvaceae family which is widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions around the globe. Many insect pests cause losses in the yield of okra crop, however; the leaf hopper (Amrasca specie) is considered as the most damaging sucking insect pest of okra crop. Jassid can reduce yield up to 50% leading to significant economic losses. A field experiment was conducted at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University of the Punjab Lahore during rabi season 2021-2022. This study was carried to figure out the insecticidal properties of five different plants extracts viz., Botanicals used in the form of extracts, that includes Garlic (Allium sativum L.), Parthenium (Parthenium hysterophorus L.), Turmeric (Curcuma longa L.), Red chilli (capsicum annum L.), and Red chilli + Garlic (capsicum annum + Allium sativum).. The experiment was laid out following RCBD having three replications of each treatment. Each treatment was used at 20% v/v concentration. The data was recorded on the per leaf infestation of jassids after 24, 48, 72, 168, 240 hours of exposure period. Among the trialed botanical extracts, the extracts of Garlic + red chilli extract were found the most effective against leaf hopper while red chilli was found least effective. Among the tested plant products, the extracts of Garlic and Garlic + red chilli extract were found most effective against plant hopper at seven days after treatment and resulted into minimum per leaf population of the tested insect. It is recommended that the extracts of Garlic + red chilli should be used as an effective control measure against the leaf hopper

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence productivity and the profitability of large red chili farming in Way Sulan District. This research used a survey method and was carried out in Way Sulan Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency in March - April 2019. The 56 respondents were selected using a simple random sampling method. The first objective was analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas production function with variables namely NPK fertilizer, SP36 fertilizer, insecticide, fungicide, herbicide, labor, and seed on the productivity of large red chilli farming. The second objective was analyzed by the analysis using the UOP or Cobb-Douglas profit function, which is a derivative of the production function but normalized by the output price. The study suggests that the productivity of large red chili farming was determined by NPK fertilizer, SP36 fertilizer, fungicide, labor which can increase the productivity. The second result suggests that the profit function of large red chili farming is influenced by land size, NPK fertilizer price, and labor wages that are normalized with output prices significantly and can increase the profit of large red chili production.Key words: production, profit, red chili

Abstract This research aims to determine the effect of blanching treatment and the effectiveness of hybrid system solar dryer for drying red chilli. The dried red chilli quality parameters such as moisture content, total microba and L*,a*,b* for colour values were determined. The experimental results showed the drying box of hybrid system solar drying can reach maximum temperature from 55.2°C to 57.1°C. Blanching treatment combined with hybrid system of solar drying shortened drying time, gave lower moisture content and lower total plate count of dried red chilli compared with nonblanched-conventional drying.

Chili is a spice typically grown globally, including in Thailand, for either domestic consumption or commercial purposes. If considered in terms of economic perspectives, growing chili can help farmers earn some income as well as becoming a prosperous business for retailers. Moreover, chili is a major ingredient for the processed food and medicine industries, with profits gained by exporting it overseas. Thailand has a 5.44 per cent market share of chili worldwide with its chili products exported overseas, namely, green and red chili, dried chili and ground chili, as well as chili dips for chicken, chili paste and curry paste. These exports are expected to keep increasing to those who favor Thai food in foreign countries (Senadee, Pomrit, & Chaiyaporn, 2018). In Thailand, growing and cultivating chili ranks fifth in the world, as the plant is grown in a total land area of 575,787.5 Rai (FAO, 2016), which yields 332,888 tons of fresh chili. Northeastern Thailand is an area where most chili is grown, accounting for about 37 per cent. There, a total land area of 128,932 Rai yields 117,150 tons of fresh chili (DOAE, 2019) . Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh rumah tangga yang ada di dusun bale cut dan dusun mesjid. Sampel penelitian ditetapkan 10% atau sebanyak 31 rumah tangga. Penarikan sampel dilakukan secara Multi Stage Cluster Random Sampling yaitu pemilihan sampel bertingkat yang dilakukan atas tiga tahap. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer yang diperoleh melalui wawancara langsung dengan responden. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkah bahwa faktor internal rumah tangga dengan variabel-variabel bebas yaitu: jumlah anggota rumah tangga dan jumlah pendapatan rumah tangga berpengaruh secara nyata terhadap permintaan cabai merah di Kabupaten Aceh Besar dan faktor eksternal rumah tangga dengan variabel-variabel bebas yaitu: harga cabai merah, harga cabai kering, dan harga tomat tidak berpengaruh secara nyata terhadap permintaan cabai merah di Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Analysys Of Factors Influencing The Demand Of Red Chilli In Aceh Besar Regency This research describes the factors influencing the demand of red chilli in Aceh Besar Regency. This research aims at figuring out wether both of internal and external household factors reallyinfluence the demand of red chilli in Aceh Besar Regency. The population of the research is all of the household residing in the dusun (hamlets) of bale cut and mesjid. The seleted sample is 10% that equals 31 households. The sample is chosen agreeing with the Multi Stage Cluster Random Sampling, that is, by involvingthree-stage stratified sampling. The data used in this research are the pprimary data collected from direct interview with the respondents. Red Chilli is commodity of vegetable that has high economic value, but still has slow productivity. The objective of this study was identify the effect of indigenous microorganism (EM 4) application and compost to increased the growth and yield of Red Chilli Plant (Cappcicum annum L) on Ultisol. Field trial was conducted on Ultisols in Horticulture Experimental Station, BatuahLoajanan, Kutai Kartanegara. The soil was characterized by low fertility status. The amount of organic matter and microbial acivity are very low. This trial was started on January until April 2017 using Split Plot Design with three replications Main plot consisted of two levels treatment i.e. without EM-4 (E0) as control and Effective Mikroorganisms-4 (E). Sub-plot was four rates of organic compost i.e. 0, 10, 20 and 30 tons ha-1 and chili was used as test plant.Results indicated that EM-4 treatment showed a significant effect on fruit yield of chilli. It increased the fruit yield 38 percent compare to control. Compost application significantly increased on fruit yield. The relationship between unfermented compost rate and fruit yield shows a linear regression YE0 = 1.699 + 0.047 X (r = 0.95) and quadratic regression for EM-4 fermented compost YE1 = 1,175 + 0,319 X – 0.007 X2(R2 = 0.603). Optimum compost rate was 23 ton.ha-1.To increased fruit yield of chilli, EM-4 fermented compost should be applied into and it can decreased compost rate application.

Limitations in obtaining superior varieties of red chili that are suitable to be planted in the highlands are one of the causes of the low yield of red chili in Rejang Lebong Regency. However, the availability of red chili germplasm as a genetic resource (SDG) in Rejang Lebong Regency is a good potential to be utilized to overcome problems in increasing the yield of red chili plants through the assembly of superior varieties. Assembling superior varieties of red chili has been done by researchers in order to get the desired plant character. This study aims to obtain information on the variability and heritability of growth character and yield of 18 red chili varieties in Rejang Lebong Regency. This research activity is the initial activity of developing the potential of germplasm that will be carried out so as to be able to overcome the problems in increasing the production of red chili in Rejang Lebong Regency. A series of research activities will produce superior varieties of red chili specifically for the highlands. The material used in this study was eighteen (18) varieties of chilli collections from various regions. The experimental design used was a Complete Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with a single factor, namely red chili plant varieties. The red chili varieties to be investigated for genetic variability and heritability in this study amounted to 18 and each treatment was repeated three times. The results showed that the highest estimated heritability was indicated by the leaf width variable at 96.69% and all observed variables had broad genotypic and phenotific variability.

The purpose of this research were to determine the amount of production costs and income obtained from the cultivation of curly red chilli, knowing the factors of production that affect the production of curly red chilli, and to Determine an efficient use of production factors in curly red chilli farming in the Prawoto Sari Farmer Group Krajan Backwood, Munding Village, Bergas District, Semarang Regency. The method of determining the location of research using purposive or intentional methods. The sampling technique used was Random Sampling. The results showed that the average total cost incurred by farmers per farm is Rp. 10,658,731.33 or Rp. 85,269,850.64 per hectare. The average income received by farmers per farm is Rp. 11,437,101.67 or Rp. 91,496,813.36 per hectare. Based on the F test all independent variables together have a very significant effect on curly red chilli production. Based on the t test the factors of production that significantly affect production are NPK fertilizer, liquid organic fertilizer Gro-mate Ls and rotraz 200 ec insecticide. The use of production factors in curly red chilli farming has not yet reached the maximum efficient level. Inefficient factors are manure, NPK fertilizer, POC, rotraz 200 ec insecticide and mulch so that its use needs to be added. While the inefficient factor is labor, dupont lannate 25 wp insecticide and stakes, so that its use does not need to be increased or reduced.

This study aims to analyze farming and factors that affecting the profit of red chilli farming in Tulang Bawang Tengah Sub-District, Tulang Bawang Barat Regency. This research uses survey method. The research is located in Tulang Bawang Tengah Sub-Distric, Tulang Bawang Barat Regency, which was conducted in April-May 2019. The number of respondent are 57 farmers taken by random sampling method. Data are analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. Furthermore, farming analysis is analyzed using income analysis and by counting the value of R/C to cash cost and total cost. Factors affecting profit function are analyzed by profit analysis UOP (Unit Output Price), which is a derived of the cobb douglas production function and normalized by output price. The results show that the average income of red chilli farming in Tulang Bawang Tengah Sub-District base on cash costs and the total cost is Rp47,486,701.79/hectare and Rp22,229,238.35/hectare, respectively. Red Chilli farming give a profit as the value of R/C to cast costs and total cost are 1,99 and 1,33. Factors of land area, seed price, SP36 fertilizer price, manure price, NPK fertilizer price, insecticide price, fungicide price and labor wages significantly affect to the profits of red chilli farming in Tulang Bawang Tengah Subdistric.Keywords : income, profit, and red chilli

Preservation synthetically or naturally is intended to extend the storability of tomato and red chili. Sambiloto (A. paniculata [Burm.f] Nees) is containing saponins that has anti-bacterial properties, therefore can be used as a preservative. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the extract of sambiloto leaf can be used as a natural preservative for tomato and red chili, and to determine the concentration of extract of sambiloto leaf which was effectively used as the preservative. The method used in this study was maceration to produce extract and iodometric titration to determine the levels of vitamin C before and after preservation. The results showed that the pickling tomatoes and red chili using extract of sambiloto leaf with a concentration of 6% sustained tomates up to 9 days and red chilies up to 11 days. Level of vitamin C contained in tomato was decreasing from 39.9 mg/100g to 37.54 mg/100g of material while red chilli is decreasing from 79.78 mg/100g to 72.74 mg/100g of material.

The southern part of the Special Province of Yogyakarta consists of a coastline spanning over 113 km, under the administrations of Bantul, Gunung Kidul and Kulon Progo regencies, that can become an asset and resource of an important economy. Cabe Merah (red chilli) is one of the commodities that show high numbers of productivity in Kulon Progo Regency. Activities of red chilli farming on the coastal land of this regency have been growing, especially since the establishment of commodity auction market to help farmers sell their harvests. The study was conducted to (1) find out the size of production in red chilli agribusiness on coastal land, (2) to analyze the risk levels of production faced by the farmers, and (3) how to mitigate the production risks on coastal red chilli farming. There were 40 participating farmers from Banaran Village, Galur Sub-district, Kulon Progo Regency. The location was intentionally chosen by using multistage area sampling method. The data used were collected from the production and income of three growing seasons. Data analyses were performed using production risk and The House of Risk methods. Based on the variance coefficient, the production risks level was at 0,03 with the production lower limit of 9.596 Kg/Ha, which showed a low level of risk. The various risk mitigation strategies have been performed by the farmers to lessen the risks that can causes losses in the process of coastal red chilli productions.

This research aims at (1) finding the effects before and after the eruption of Sinabung mountain on production of red chili (Capsicum annumL.) in research area, (2) finding the effects before and after the eruption of Sinabung mountain on price of red chili (Capsicum annumL.), (3) finding the income of red chilli ((Capsicum annumL.) after the eruption of Sinabung mountain in research area. This research was conducted in Beganding village, Simpang Empat Sub-district, Karo regency, province of Sumatera Utara. Research sample was done by using Simple Random Sampling as many as 35 respondents from the total population 167 families. Method of data analysis was by paire sample t-test to find the difference between production and price of red chili(Capsicum annum L.)both before and after the eruption of Sinabung mountain and analysis of red chili farmers’ income. Research findings show that there is a significant effect of red chili production in research area both before and after the eruption of Sinabung mountain. The production of red chili before the eruption of Sinabung mountain is as many as 1.932 kg/farmer > 1.342 kg/farmer (after the eruption of Sinabung mountain) in which the difference is 2.237 kg/farmer. The income of chili farming before and after the eruption of Sinabung mountain was categorized “low” and the comparison indicator is UMK Karo Regency in 2017. It is Rp 2.051.267/month, meanwhile UMK Karo regency is Rp 2.619.234,41.

This work studies the use of red chilli tree (capsicum anuumm L) waste as material of activated carbon and examines the morphological structure and elemental composition of the activated chili trees. The morphological structure was measured at TekMIRA (Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Teknologi Mineral dan Batubara, Bandung) by using the scanning electron microscope (SEM), and the composition of the elements of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and ash is determined by the ultimate testing analysis with the ASTM D5373 standard. In the testing procedure, activated carbon is made from red chili tree waste by dehydration with a temperature of 2000 C for 1 hour and carbonized with a temperature of 3750 C for 1 hour. Then, the chemical activation (NaOH) is made in variation of concentration of 1%, 3%, and 5% with soaked time 24 hours, and dried at 2000 C for one hour. The carbonization at a concentration of 1% (NaOH) gave the best result on activated carbon from red chili trees.

Chili starts procurement, processing to obtain added value, until marketing should be able to anticipate the limitations of the rights of farmers / gapotan groups that are more burdened with obligations. This paper aims to examine and express the role and benefits of chilli in the processing of red chillies to the marketing of processed products, related to efforts to accelerate the development of processing and agribusiness industries to improve the welfare of red chilli farmers. The benefits of partnership for farmer groups are the existence of market certainty, and relatively stable profits. The benefit for partners is the certainty of obtaining raw materials in accordance with the required specifications. The partner still gives the opportunity to sell to the free market if the price is better. The partnership development perspective is still very open, among others due to: (a) both parties obtain mutually beneficial benefits; (b) demand for processed products increases along with population growth. processing business is the transfer of raw material into highly-processed processed products that are able to meet the high demands of quality and hygienic (GMP) processed product requirements, as well as closely related to the increase in income from the acquisition of product value that is expected to realize and prosper farmers and businessmen , able to create jobs and increase interest in young workers on agriculture. The importance of changing the old mindset and paradigm of agriculture through the empowerment and development of chillies in processing and red chili processed agribusiness products is expected to be able to power the development of industrialization and the economy in rural areas.

Анотація:
Cayenne pepper or chilli is a fruit vegetable crops needed by the whole society as a flavoring food and medicine. In general, chilli plants can be grown in all types of soil and grow best when growing conditions are met, but the best is in the lowland soil containing sand with good porosity. This study aimed to know (i) the growth and yield response of cayenne pepper extending of multiple doses of the chicken manure fertilizer (ii) the best doses of chicken manure fertilizer on the growth and yield chili in red yellow podzolic soil. The experiment was conducted in the Timbun Tulang Village Batu Mandi District Balangan Regency from June - September 2010, using a randomized block design (RBD) a single factor, with repeated 4 times and the combination of experimental units 7 pieces, so for the entire experiment were 28 experimental plots. The results showed that treatment doses of chicken manure droppings significant effect on plant height age 14 day after planting (DAP), significant effect on plant height ages 21 and 28 DAP, age of the plant starts to flower and plant fresh weight chili. The best treatment for high-growth plant ages 14, 21 and 28 DAP, age starts to flower and fruit fresh weight chili crop is treated k5 (1.4 kg chicken manure fertilizer / planting hole).

The Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field is a component of the electromagnetic wave spectrum with a frequency of <300 Hz. This research is an experimental study with the aim of examining the effect of exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic fields on the mass of chili plants (Capsicum annum L). Data collection techniques used are direct measurements. The results showed that chilli seeds exposed to a 300µT ELF magnetic field for 30 minutes gave a fresher and drier mass than the other samples. The use of a 30-minute duration ELF 300µT magnetic field on chili seeds gave better results for fresh and dry mass of chili plants.

Export of groundnut and chilli products from India is ever-growing and necessitates continuous safety assessment. This study aimed to assay aflatoxin (AFs) contamination from the export quality groundnut and chilli produce using a UHPLC method. Categorized as branded, non-branded and cold storage samples were collected from retail shops and open markets of the Raichur region of South India. As a separate aim, we validated the method for AFB1 in both the groundnut and chilli matrices for linearity (0.993, 0.999), LOD (0.5 & 0.5µgkg-1), LOQ (5.0 & 2.0µgkg-1), recovery (90.66 per cent & 113.33 per cent), robustness (93.33 per cent & 112.66 per cent) and per cent residual (8.48 & 112.66) respectively. Standard linearity generated was in the range of 5- 50.0 ηgg-1 in groundnut and 0.5-10ηgg-1 in chilli matrix. Sixty-five per cent of the total chilli samples collected were infected by Aspergillus spp. and one sample showed AFB1 above the regulatory limit. The levels of AFB1 and total AFs in the contaminated dried chillies from branded, unbranded, cold storage and Radiofrequency treated were in the range of 1.895-29.653µgkg-1, 4.747-6.972µgkg-1, and 7.23-13.17µgkg-1, respectively. In contrast to chilli samples, seventeen per cent of the branded groundnut samples showed an AFB1 concentration of13.59µgkg-1. This study showed that the cold storage chilli and groundnut were aflatoxin-free and thereby safe compared to the branded and non branded samples.

The purpose of this research is to find out the various contributions made by PT Berkah Rosul Bersaudara who are collaborating with bekancan red chili farmers in Telagah Village, Kec. Sei Bingai, Kab. Langkat, North Sumatra. The primary method and the secondary method are a form of method used in this study. By conducting research on groups of red chili farmers in the village. Interview activities that have been carried out to the leadership of the company PT Berkah Rosul Bersaudara and the farmers is an effort to obtain primary data. While secondary data is data that is indirectly obtained from literature books relevant to this research as well as several journals that also discuss the same topic. This research resulted in various forms of contributions that have been sought by the company as a partner to the income of red bekancan chili farmers in Telagah Village, Kec. Sei Bingai, Kab. Langkat, North Sumatra which is in accordance with the data that has been produced in the study that the red chili harvest of 5 hectares was declared successful with quite a lot of quantity, thus affecting the income of farmers which experienced a significant increase of 50%. Colletotrichum species is considered as amajor fungal pathogen that can cause economic damage in commercial chilli production because of its ability to infect fruits both at pre- and post-harvest stages. Results obtained from the Fourier transform near-infrared spectrophotometer in chilli genotypes indicated that, there is a significant difference among the chilli genotypes for both quantitative and qualitative traits. Furthermore, capsaicin and oleoresin contents have a significant linear relationship with resistance to anthracnose at red fruit stage. Incidentally, chilli genotypes that are moderately resistant to anthracnose were significantly superior in capsaicin and oleoresin contents and fruit yield. Hence, capsaicin and oleoresin content can be used as an indirect method to predict anthracnose resistance in chilli breeding.

This study aims at finding out the Petragonik fertilizer’s dose on the growth and yield of red chilli and finding out the optimum dose of Petragonik fertilizer that can optimize the growth and yield of red chilli. This study employed group random design with the treatment of Petragonik fertilizer (P0) or control, (P1) 150 kg/ha-1or (75g petak1), (P2) 300 kg/ha-1or 150 g petak1), (P3) 450kg/ha-1or (225 g petak1 , (P4) 600 kg/ha-1or ( 300 g petak-1). The findings reveal that 450 kg/ha of fertilizer dose has a very significant influence on the height of plants (49,91cm) or increasing to (6,9%), a number of leaves (25 sheets) or rising to (10,07%), and wide of leaves (315 cm²) or a rise of (7,9%) and the yields of tan-1 (28,33 fruits), the diameter of chilli (3,50mm), the weight of fresh chilli ha-1 (416,83) and harvest index of (12,89%).

Dry chilli production in India condition faces many challenges apart from adverse weather conditions, labor-intensive production practices and higher overall production costs are limiting profitable dry chilli cultivation. Therefore, a study was carried to know the key constraints in current chilli production practices in eight major production districts of three states. A systematic research and development approach is essential to know the range of constraints and farmers preferences over technological options for field operations. The harvesting operation alone demands 43% of labour 360.5 man-days/ha. So, red chilli harvesting mechanization is a definite immediate requirement to reduce labour input. Farmers (47%) prefer small size self-propelled chilli harvester over tractor operated equipment. In the production catchments, farmer also inferred to change the cultivation practices to mechanize chilli production operations, but 18% of farmers hesitant to adopt one-timeharvesting chilli varieties due to suspicion about the yield potentials.

The purpose of this research were to : (1) Calculate the amount of cost, income and income obtained from red chili farming in Kumpul Rejo Village, Buay Madang Timur District, OKU Timur Regency, (2) Analyze financial feasibility of red pepper farming in Kumpul Rejo Village East Buay Madang District of East OKU Regency. This research has been conducted in Kumpul Rejo Village, Buay Madang Timur Sub-district, East OKU Regency. Site selection is done purposively with the consideration that in the village there are farmers who cultivate red chilli by utilizing irrigated rice field. The study was conducted in April 2015. The study found that the total production cost incurred in the cultivation of red chili farming in Kumpul Rejo Village in a single production process with an average land area of 0.30 Ha was Rp 11,277,822, One production process amounting to Rp 36,033,750 so that the income received is Rp 24,755,928. The value of R / C ratio is 3.24 indicates the profitable pepper cultivation business. BEP value of production volume is 702 Kg, while BEP value of price is Rp 5,217 / Kg and ROI value is 224% indicating that farming system of red chili in Kumpul Rejo Village is feasible financially.

Chilli is one of plant from genus Capsicum and as vegetable commodities most consumed by the Indonesian people. Chilli contains a unique compound called capsaicin which gives a burning sensation like burning when consumed. This research aims to determine the effect of chilli extract on gastroprotection in the stomach of mice. The study used 35 white male rats were divided into seven groups, one group as the control group, and six groups were given extracts from three varieties of chilli (red chilli, green chilli, and chilli) with high doses (1 g / kg bb) and low doses (0.5 g / kg bb) for 14 days. On the 15th day, gastric decapitation and isolation were carried out to make histological preparations of the rat's stomach. The results showed mucosal tissue in the stomach of rats given a dose of 0.5 g/kg BW remained in normal condition compared to the group of rats given high doses of chilli. In this group, a lot of damage to the gastric mucosal tissue of rats (ulcers). This study concludes that consuming 0.5 g/kg BW chilli does not cause damage to the gastric mucosal tissue of rats.Keywords: Chilli, Gastric mucose, Gastroprotective

This study aims to determine the effect of giving EM-4 to tofu liquid waste on the growth of red chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) and to determine how much influence the application of EM-4 to tofu wastewater on the growth of red chili plants. This type of research is a field experiment research using a quantitative descriptive approach to test the effect of EM-4 on tofu liquid waste on the growth of red chili plants. The research was conducted for two months. The results showed that descriptively there was an effect of giving EM-4 to tofu liquid waste on the growth of red chili plants, namely in the treatment of giving EM-4 to tofu liquid waste by 2% (V1) the average gave the highest yield on all parameters observed, among others, plant height 40.9 cm, stem diameter 0.46 cm, and the number of leaves 68 leaves. The magnitude of the effect of giving EM-4 to tofu liquid waste on the growth of red chili plants based on analysis of variance did not have a significant effect on plant height because the F value of the group (0.61) < Ftable (5.14) and the F value of the treatment (1.23) ) < Ftable (4.76) at a significant level of 5%. The stem diameter also did not have a significant effect because the value of the Fcount of the group (0.50)

Abstrack:Chili is one type of plant that is widely planted by the community. Chili becomes a vegetable that has high economic value. However, farmers still use traditional methods in determining the chili seeds to be planted. Just as farmers choose chili seeds based only on chili seeds at a low price, so it is less able to overcome various pests that allow yields to fall. Of course this will have an impact on the lack of sale prices of crops. to carry out a research process by applying technology that can increase the yield of chilli crops through the application of a Decision Support System. The method used is the MOORA method which is one of the methods of a decision support system. Through the application of this method, researchers will compare each type of chilli seedlings based on criteria that will determine which chili is said to be superior. So that it will produce an information about the types of superior chili seeds based on all the existing criteria. Through the creation of a web-based system / application for the selection of superior chilli seedlings, farmers in Indonesia have broad access to take advantage of the results of future research making it easier for farmers to know which chili seeds are superior.The results of this study obtained the most superior chili with the highest value of 0.469, namely large red chilies. So what is the result of the recommendation for the implementation of this MOORA method is large red chili. Cabai menjadi sayuran yang memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi. Akan tetapi petani masih meng-gunakan cara tradisional dalam menentukan bibit cabai yang akan ditanam. Seperti halnya petani memilih bibit cabai hanya berdasarkan bibit cabai dengan harga yang murah, sehingga hal tersebut kurang mampu mengatasi berbagai hama yang memungkinkan hasil panen menjadi turun. Tentu hal tersebut akan berdampak pada kurangnya harga jual hasil panen. untuk melakukan proses penelitian dengan menerapkan teknologi yang dapat meningkatkan hasil panen tanaman cabai melalui penerapan Sistem Pendukung Keputusan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode MOORA yang merupakan salah satu metode dari sistem pendukung keputusan. Melalui penerapan metode ini, peneliti akan membandingkan setiap jenis bibit cabai ber-dasarkan kriteria yang akan menentukan suatu cabai dikatakan unggul. Sehingga hal tersebut akan menghasilkan sebuah informasi tentang jenis bibit cabai unggul berdasarkan semua kriteria yang ada. Melalui pembuatan sistem/aplikasi berbasis web untuk pemilihan bibit cabai unggul ini, maka para petani di Indonesia memiliki akses luas untuk memanfaatkan hasil penelitian nantinya sehingga memudahkan para petani mengetahui bibit cabai yang unggul. This article performed various analysis on Red chilli by hybrid collector with solar dryer (HCSD). This study was carried out forced convection solar dryer which performed better in all aspects such as drying time, moisture removal rate, electrical efficiency, electrical thermal efficiency, thermal efficiency and overall thermal efficiency. In general, solar radiation was provided a sources of generating energy to drive a solar dryer. Hybrid collector has been provided the electrical and thermal energy to run a solar dryer. The solar dryer was tested by drying 12 kg of red chilli in the drying air temperature in the range of 32 0C – 56 0C. The initial moisture content of the red chilli was 71.5 % (weight basis) and was reduced to the final moisture content of 16.2 % (weight basis) in 6 consistent days with clear sunny days. The HCSD was operated between 9 hrs to 16 hrs. Finally, comparative study was also handled for better understanding in HCSD, in which solar dryer drying made better outcome than open sun drying.

Aphis gossypii is one of the factors that reduce chili production which acts as a pest and virus vector. This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the application of neem cake water extract to A. gossypii on red chili plants. This research consisted of 2 experimental stages, namely in the laboratory and the greenhouse trials. The experimental design in the laboratory used a completely randomized design of neem cake water extract with treatments is A (Control), B (0.3%), C (0.6%), D (1.2%), E (2.4%), F (4.8%). Each treatment replicate 4 times. Aplication of water neem cake extract by dipping method of chilli leaf. After the leaf feed air dried, then the leaf put into plastic box and invested with 10 nymph of A. gossypii. While the experiments in the greenhouse used a randomized block design of neem cake water extract treatments were A (Control), B (LC50), C (1.5xLC50), D (2xLC50), E (2.5xLC50), F (3xLC50). The concentration of neem extract in the greenhouse experiment based on result of experiment at laboratory. Adults of A. gossypii as much as 20 were invested on every red chili plant. Application of neem cake water extract on red chili plants once every 4 days. The results showed that neem cake water extract effective to A. Gossypii with 0.14% as LC50. Neem cake water extract at concentration of 1.5xLC50 (0.21%) was effective suppressing A. gossypii population on red chili plants.

Chilli is one of strategic commodity in Indonesia due to its contribution to inflation level. For this reason, future price information is very importance for designing price policy. Future price merely can be provided by conducting a price forecasting. Various forecasting models can be applied for this purpose; the problem is which the best model for forecasting is. This study aims to select the most accurate forecasting model of curly red chili prices at the retail level. The data used are monthly data, from 2011 - 2017. Five forecasting models are applied and estimated including Moving Average, Single Exponential Smoothing, Double Exponential Smoothing, Decomposition, and ARIMA. The best model is selected based on the smallest MAPE, MSE and MAD values. The results show that the most accurate forecasting model is ARIMA (1,1,9).

The aims of this study was 1) to determine the effect of interactions between the dose of NPK fertilizer and bokashi fertilizer on growth and yield of curly red chilli plants 2) to determine the effect of NPK fertilizer dose on the growth and yield of curly red chili plants 3) to determine the effect of bokashi fertilizer dose on the growth and yield of curly red chilli plants. This study was arranged using a factorial randomized block design (RAK), factor I was NPK fertilizer namely N1: 0.624 gram, N2: 0.832 gram, N3: 1.04 gram, N4 1,248 gram, factor II is fertilizer Bokashi is B1: 20.8 grams, B2: 41.6 grams, B3: 49.9 grams, B4: 62.4 grams. There were 16 treatments and repeated 3 times, so there were 48 experimental units. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance method based on (ANNOVA) level of 5% analysis of variance analysis. If the treatment has a significant effect on the observed variables then continued with the Duncan test of the level of 5%. The results of variance showed that there was a significant interaction with NPK fertilizer treatment (N) and Bokashi fertilizer (B) on plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, anditotal number of fruit plantations at 14, 21, 28, 35, and 49 DAP (date after plant). The best treatment wasifound in the dosage of 0.832 gram NPK fertilizer and 41.6 gram Bokashi fertilizer (N2B2).

The results of this study by conducting data testing using SPSS 20.0 can be concluded that from the calculation of regression which states that the income of farmers group of chili heavily very influential on consumer demand in the village of Aek Paing, so that existing chili farmers can increase the production capacity of chili which is good to meet the needs of the community in the village of Aek Paing. This shows a very strong and positive degree because the value is in the number 0.9 close to 1 this means very strong influence the demand for the farmer group's income. Where as with the value of R square of 0.988, this means that the effect of variables X1- X3 simultaneously (simultaneously) to variable Y of 98.8%. The income variable of farmers in the Wonosari neighborhood of Aek Paing Sub-district of Labuhanbatu Regency is influenced by the demand varieties of red chilli, while the remaining 1.02 percent is influenced by other variables outside the model.
