The ability of conventional wind and tidal generation systems to provide the grid with reliable and stable power at all times is a new challenge due to weather fluctuations, which have a significant and direct impact on energy production. This is why the hybridization of wind and tidal power generation systems has been studied to improve the integration of wind and tidal power into the electricity grid. This study led us to develop contributions related to two main axes:The first axis is focused on a new concept of hybridization of two different energy sources in terms of physical properties, wind and horizontal axis turbines, based on an electromechanical coupling of these two systems. The two resources are wind energy and marine energy. The concept is developed using the functional similarities of turbines and similarities in energy conversion of their energy chains. To apply this concept first, the parameters of the double fed asynchronous generator installed in the GREAH emulator are identified. Then, the power conversion chain is modeled mathematically and simulated in a MATLAB / SIMULINK environment. We have developed two control strategies.A fixed speed strategy called "Direct Speed Control", and a variable speed strategy based on the search for maximum power, called "Indirect Speed Control". Finally, this concept has been implemented practically on the real-time emulator of the laboratory. The results obtained were analyzed and discussed following this work. The second axis is devoted to a concept called "accelerated time" simulation or "virtual time". Subsequently, this concept was implemented on the multi-physics emulator available at the GREAH laboratory. This concept (accelerated time) is based on reducing wind profile samples in order to decrease simulation time and facilitate real-time control. The main results are obtained first in MATLAB / SIMULINK, then verified on the emulator in real time. The main objective of this thesis is to study the concept of offshore wind / tidal turbine hybridization based on the flexibility of a multi-function emulator that allows various emulation architectures: wind turbines, tidal turbines, and hybrid wind - tidal turbines systems. We analyze its impact on the output power of the system; the obtained results are correlated with wind and tidal speed profiles, in which statistical properties impacting global power chains could be complementary and in particular in function of the given sites. Main contributions and perspectives- Development of the concept of electromechanical coupling. When two renewable energy sources are "integrated", the rapid fluctuation of the power generated is stabilized, but under certain conditions such as the presence of storage units or an automatic clutch system.- The accelerated time conceptThis method is used to reduce the size of the recorded wind or sea current data, to speed up the simulation time of the power generation units with reasonable results that are close to actual situations.- Study and develop the concept of electric shaft regime: If the electromechanical coupling is difficult to achieve from the mechanical point of view and the single shaft decouples are too frequent so high mechanical stress, one can study the electric shaft regime with two DFIG induction machines. There is a regime in which the ratios between the speeds of the different machines are rigorously constant. The system can operate in synchronous mode with specific structures and configurations

The thesis work concerns the development of a real-time emulation platform for theoretical and experimental studies of offshore wind and tidal power hybrid systems. Various energy coupling architectures are processed on the basis of the functional similarities of two systems and by both numerical and experimental emulation concepts. The notion of accelerated time used for real time simulation has been developed. The concept was validated on the experimental platform using the evolution of the mean power delivered by a small wind turbine. This approach can reduce the observation times of the measurement campaigns and could accelerate the studies for the wind potential of developing sites. We have also developed two types of coupling of the wind-tidal hybrid system. An electrical coupling based on the connection in parallel on a continuous bus of two turbines. We have developed an innovative concept of an electromechanical coupling based on the use of a single asynchronous generator on which the wind turbine and tidal turbine are simultaneously coupled. For this purpose, a vector-controlled servomotor was used to emulate the wind turbine while a synchronous motor was used as a tidal turbine emulator. The generator shaft is used as a mechanical coupling between the two systems. We have demonstrated in the experiments that we have developed the complementarity of the electrical productions of the two systems; we highlighted the need to add a storage system to compensate the simultaneous decrease of the two energy productions. The real time simulations results allow us to validate the feasibility of such a coupling

This guide-line is entitled "Description of event-driven motion processes by function charts" and constitutes a graphically clear design and documentation tool that is well-suited for interdisciplinary application. The block library Function Chart has been defined based on system descriptions suggested in guideline 3684. This library makes available a uniform design procedure. It covers the documentation, the behaviour test of event-driven systems by means of simulation including the early detection of design process faults, the test of realization variants as well as the code generation. Block library Function Chart is an add-on library for SIMULINK. With regard to its essential features it has been developed for the design, simulation, code generation and the description of event-driven systems especially for mechatronics, mechanical and electrical engineering. The created block icons make it possible to get familiar with add-on library Function Chart within a short period of time whereupon block mnemonics may be hidden in order to get a high graphical clearness and to fulfil the requirements of the guideline. Versions 3.1 bilingual on-line block help is available for all blocks. Graphically programmed function charts may be checked for input and programming errors preferably with help of Toolbox "Function Chart Check" by means of GUI's and if necessary also by MATLAB scripts. The check may be done completely or alternatively for selected errors. Output of result is possible either in detail inclusively eventual hints or in shortened form. A function chart may be checked for parameter errors (e.g. state and FUP numbers, variables, error handling), syntax errors (see guideline), dead ends (first or all) and uncoupled loops (arithmetic loops). Standard ANSI C compiler availability stands for a precondition for real time code generation. The block library Function Chart offers a reasonable alternative and allows separate motion error handling sequences which are separated from normal motion sequences without any loss of a well-ordered graphical arrangement. Currently 11 examples demonstrate the application of the blocks

In the electricity distribution network field, because of the electricity market opening and the large-scale insertion of dispersed generators (DJ) in these last years, the network undergoes radical modification in both operation and exploitation. In this context, some new integration solutions are invented in order to be able to connect the DJ, as photo-voltaic panels, micro wind turbines, cogeneration units, etc, and the new loads, as electric vehicles and smart home, without reduce the voltage wave quality or involve a very expensive power systems reinforcement. The objectives of those solutions are to influence the consumer consumption in order to reduce the peak consumption level and shift the consumption on the high renewable production period, and control the DJ output to participate to the service system. The new information and communication technologies (NICT) are strongly used in the development of those control strategies. This PhD work is including in the French project GreenLys supported by the French environment and energy management agency. GreenLys is a 4 years project focus on the development of a real scale Smart Grid in the two French cities Lyon and Grenoble. As a first step, this work evaluating the impact of the DJ and the electric vehicle on the distribution network. From the result of this impact study, two types of decentralized control strategies are investigated. The first one is focus on the phase connection. Since the majority of consumers and DJ connected on the distribution grid are single phases, methods allowing to choose the best phase connection are study. The second one is focus on new DJ reactive power control strategies. In the last part, the strategies are evaluated on a Power Hardware In the Loop simulation and real solar inverter

The increasing rise of distributed generation integration in the energy mix is a challenging issue. Indeed distributed generation based on renewable energy sources like solar and wind creates fluctuation of the grid’s parameter and can lead to minor issues like harmonics, over or under voltages, flicker and so on, or to major failure like blackouts. The concept of microgrid associated with energy storage systems is seen as a potential solution to increase renewable energy integration to the grid, while increasing efficiency and reliability at the same time.A review of energy Storage technologies is carried out and it results that currently none of these technologies can offer energy and power capabilities while fast response and efficiency at the same time. The use of Hybrid Energy Storage System allows to reach such performance. For this thesis, a Li-Ion and a Vanadium Redox Flow Battery have been selected for their good power and energy abilities respectively, and their high round trip efficiency. The main contribution of this work lies in the structural limits analysis of the topology and the control algorithm for the four leg three level NPC used as a multipurpose interface between a Renewable Energy Source, a Hybrid Energy Storage System and a Microgrid. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithms and limits model are tested both in simulation and experiments. Ancillary services like frequency and voltage support are then developed and tested in simulation under various conditions

As there are varieties of semiconductor products, and they have a large variation on the specifications, the subcontractors whose major business is packing face a production mode of fast reaction to meet the request of diversification and small quantity. They must work very efficiently so that shorten their finish period, and also increase customer’s service level further in order to meet the market demand. In most cases, wire bonding is a bottleneck workstation for the semiconductor packing plants. The process time is so long, and the process requires many machines. Improper scheduling or dispatch might result in a waste on system resource, and a jam on the system flow, and then affects the relevant workstations. Therefore, under a premise of different input for each product and for efficient resource allocation, an administrator must to assign the resource immediately in order to meet the demand of fast change on the products, and to achieve the scheme of prompt scheduling and dispatching. This research is to suggest a model that combine genetic algorithm with discrete-event simulation in solving a real-time dispatching planning problem of parallel machines workstation . Eventually use a packing plant as the actual case to prove the practicability of the method. The plants may refer to this method to make their policy decision.
