Enterprises operating in a complicated, constantly changing environment should pay much more attention to the market and the user, ie to marketing. Despite the fact that the main subject of the state economy is an enterprise, the problems of marketing are mostly analysed at the level of activities. At the enterprises, these problems, which are of great practical and theoretical importance, are paid little attention. One of the main problems in this context is quantitative evaluation of marketing effectiveness. The nature of the considered processes implies that this problem can be solved by multiple criteria evaluation methods. It allows us to offer a particular methodology verified by calculations. The evaluation of some actual enterprises has shown that marketing considerably affects their commercial activities in a positive way, increasing their effectiveness (profitability).

Abstract Counterfactual impact evaluation (CIE) is a scientific quantitative approach mainly based on experiments and quasi experiments. CIE is trying to prove a causal relationship between outputs and outcomes. CIE does not take into account coherence of external incentives of companies with internal incentives that have or may have an impact on the behaviour of enterprises. The paper sets up internal evaluation indicators for businesses, counterfactuals useful for creating a more complex metrics evaluating businesses in the area of performance. The aim of the paper is to present model situation using the elementary principle of counterfactual impact evaluation based on “the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)”.

Two new parameters – reduced wear and reduced integral microhardness of the modified surface layer was used to evaluate the effectiveness of surface hardening technologies. The existence of a correlation between the entered parameters is shown, the regression equation is obtained based on the analysis of experimental data of the wear of a tool made of steel CrWMn and U10 treated with a laser with coatings in the reflow mode. We construct the functional dependence of tool wear on this parameter.

The growing competition on the international markets means that the importance of enterprise marketing activities is increasing. However, the attention paid to theoretical and practical marketing problems by enterprises is insufficient. This particularly refers to the analysis of marketing strategy effectiveness. It is not clear how marketing affects enterprise performance. To perform this analysis, the quantitative evaluation of enterprise marketing activities is required. Enterprise marketing is a complex multi-faceted phenomenon. Its various aspects are described by multidimensional and often oppositely directed criteria. Therefore, in this case, multicriteria evaluation methods can be successfully used for analysis. The state of the enterprise marketing system is described by sets of criteria. Therefore, the problem of adequate evaluation of their weights arises. Sometimes, it is possible to reduce the number of evaluation criteria by developing their hierarchical system. However, the question arises how the transformation of a single-level system of criteria into the respective multi-level system affects the calculation results.

Determining the efficiency of the principal means of specific immunoprophylaxis in forming thepost-vaccinal immunity against the new coronavirus infection (СOVID‑19) is a very important and topical problem. Solving it involves the evaluation of the efficiency and choosing the laboratory diagnostics technique for an adequate estimation of the nature and the level of thepost-vaccinal immune response (PIR).Research objectives. Evaluating efficiency of the humoral PIR involving theproduction of specific antibodies in patients vaccinated with ‘CoviVac’using quantitative andsemi-quantitative test systems developed by Russian and international companies.Material and methods. The level of antibodies matching the principal known antigens of the SARS-CoV‑2 virus was measured. The probes were taken in a group of 103 persons 22–30 days after vaccination. The techniques used were the principal immunochemical ones (enzymelinkedimmunosorbent assay (ELISA) and chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA)). The nature and the level of the PIR in terms of these antibodies’ production was studied, and the adequacy of the diagnostic techniques applied was evaluated, wherefore the result convergence was studied, and the techniques’ cross-sensitivity and specificity were determined.Results. Insufficient level of PIR in terms of producing antibodies against SARS-CoV‑2 after vaccination with‘CoviVac’was established. The levels of antibodies were found to be not highenough to ensure a reliable immunity against the Covid‑19. However, a highdegree of correlation between the results of different quantitative techniques for measuring theantibodies matching the S-protein and its BRD of the SARS-CoV‑2 virus was determined. Arather high convergence of the results of the quantitative and semi-quantitative techniques usedfor studying this type of antibodies was found.Conclusions. The PR upon the vaccination with the ‘CoviVac’ is characterized by insufficientintensity level in terms of forming the long-living IgG antibodies with surface antigens of SARS-CoV‑2. In particular, the antibody count, which is generally considered capable of ensuringreliable protection, was not reached. Efficiency of the immunochemical testsystems used in this study is high enough and can provide an adequate estimate of the PIR after the vaccination with ‘CoviVac’ .

A method for evaluating the ease of disassembly of products was presented in this paper. In order to conduct more objective evaluation and reduce the fuzziness and subjectivity in evaluation process, the disassembly evaluation model based on the principal component analysis (PCA) was proposed in this paper. The evaluation metrics mainly incorporated factors closely related with disassembly process, and the principal component analysis enabled more objectively quantitative evaluation, through dimensionality reduction and information integration of metrics. Finally, an example of disassembly evaluation was given to verify the effectiveness of the method.

This paper presents a multiple criteria decision model for the life cycle of single family houses analysis based on a decision support system. Methods of multiple criteria analysis are applied for a complex analysis of the single‐family houses life cycle as well as for the evaluation of decisions. The method of multivariant design is applied for making variants of the life cycle of single‐family houses. The multivariant design and multiple criteria evaluation of a building life cycle allow the interested parties (client, contractor, user, etc.) to make efficient decisions on the ground of a quantitative and qualitative variants analysis. The decision maker's attitude can be reflected in the analysis process by the weighting of criteria. The proposed methodology provides a useful tool for building life cycle evaluation. Having applied the information gathered in the database, using the models of a model base, various interested parties of a building life cycle are able to make effective decisions. The system provides a user with all the necessary support required for decision making: in information terms the receipt of quantitative and conceptual information describing a building life cycle, gathering and use thereof, in terms of evaluation the analysis of such information applying the methods of a multiple criteria analysis.

Mixed methods research—i.e., research that draws on both qualitative and quantitative methods in varying configurations—is well suited to address the increasing complexity of public health problems and their solutions. This review focuses specifically on innovations in mixed methods evaluations of intervention, program or policy (i.e., practice) effectiveness, and implementation. The article begins with an overview of the structure, function, and process of different mixed methods designs and then provides illustrations of their use in effectiveness studies, implementation studies, and combined effectiveness–implementation hybrid studies. The article then examines four specific innovations: procedures for transforming (or “quantitizing”) qualitative data, application of rapid assessment and analysis procedures in the context of mixed methods studies, development of measures to assess implementation outcomes, and strategies for conducting both random and purposive sampling, particularly in implementation-focused evaluation research. The article concludes with an assessment of challenges to integrating qualitative and quantitative data in evaluation research.

The results of research involving a well-designed before-and-after evaluation of the safety effects of providing left- and right-turn lanes for at-grade intersections are presented. Geometric design, traffic control, traffic volume, and traffic accident data were gathered for a total of 280 improved intersections as well as 300 similar intersections that were not improved during the study period. The types of improvement projects evaluated included installation of added left-turn lanes, added right-turn lanes, and extension of the length of existing left- or right-turn lanes. An observational before-and-after evaluation of these projects was performed by using several alternative evaluation approaches. Three contrasting approaches to before-and-after evaluation were used: the yoked comparison or matched-pair approach, the comparison group approach, and the empirical Bayes approach. The research not only evaluated the safety effectiveness of left- and right-turn lane improvements but also compared the performances of these three alternative approaches in making such evaluations. The research developed quantitative safety effectiveness measures for installation design improvements involving added left-turn lanes and added right-turn lanes. The research concluded that the empirical Bayes method provides the most accurate and reliable results. Further use of this method is recommended.

The difficulty in the energy efficiency analysis of discrete manufacturing system is the lack of evaluation index system. In this paper, a novel evaluation index system with three layers and 10 indexes was presented to analyze the overall energy consumption level of the discrete manufacturing system. Then, with the consideration of the difficulties in directly obtaining machine energy efficiency, a prediction method based on recursive variable forgetting factor identification was put forward to calculate it. Furthermore, a comprehensive quantitative evaluation method of rough set and attribute hierarchical model was designed based on the index structure to evaluate the energy efficiency level. Finally, an experiment was used to illustrate the effectiveness of our evaluation index system and method.

Anonymous student evaluations of teaching (SETs) are used by colleges and universities to measure teaching effectiveness and to make decisions about faculty hiring, firing, re-appointment, promotion, tenure, and merit pay. Although numerous studies have found that SETs correlate with various teaching effectiveness irrelevant factors (TEIFs) such as subject, class size, and grading standards, it has been argued that such correlations are small and do not undermine the validity of SETs as measures of professors’ teaching effectiveness. However, previous research has generally used inappropriate parametric statistics and effect sizes to examine and to evaluate the significance of TEIFs on personnel decisions. Accordingly, we examined the influence of quantitative vs. non-quantitative courses on SET ratings and SET based personnel decisions using 14,872 publicly posted class evaluations where each evaluation represents a summary of SET ratings provided by individual students responding in each class. In total, 325,538 individual student evaluations from a US mid-size university contributed to theses class evaluations. The results demonstrate that class subject (math vs. English) is strongly associated with SET ratings, has a substantial impact on professors being labeled satisfactory vs. unsatisfactory and excellent vs. non-excellent, and the impact varies substantially depending on the criteria used to classify professors as satisfactory vs. unsatisfactory. Professors teaching quantitative courses are far more likely not to receive tenure, promotion, and/or merit pay when their performance is evaluated against common standards.

Business incubators were designed to sustain the deep-rooted image of entrepreneurs being self-reliant and by offering a broad spectrum of tailored services; it seeks to raise the success rate of small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) significantly. BIs have the characteristics to be completely dedicated to the success of a small business in its initial stages but, followed through, it puts in place the tools to achieve long-term success: space, funding, legal, accounting, computer services and other prerequisites to running a business, make BIs a one-stop shop for SMEs. This study has been conducted to establish if there has been a fairytale ending to the symbiotic relationship or whether the business incubator, like the SME, has had to traverse its own set of challenges towards achieving a happy union. The paper adopted a quantitative research approach in which the questionnaire was utilized as the relevant data collection tool. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software was used to analyze the data, with descriptive statistics at the end. As much as limited funding was reported to be a significant challenge that incubatees faced prior to joining the incubation programs, the results point to the fact that the need for multiple skills was the central force that seduced/lured the incubatees into the programs, but the majority of the participating respondents declare a complete lack of regret. Instead, they fully endorse the merits of the union, stating that BIs exists to effectively meet the objectives of SMEs

Then, this study gives results, namely in the evaluation of Akidah Akhlak learning in Kudus Regency during online learning using the Quizizz media platform and in this application it has a high effectiveness when implemented, with a percentage value of 56.17%. The implication of this research on learning is that the online evaluation process is more effective when using the Quizizz platform, especially in daily assessments.

Applying inverse Q filtering to surface seismic data may minimize the effect of dispersion and attenuation and hence improve the seismic resolution. In this case study, a stabilized inverse Q filter is applied to a land seismic data set, for which the prerequisite reliable earth Q function is estimated from the vertical seismic profile (VSP) downgoing wavefield. The paper focuses on the robust estimate of Q values from VSP data and on the quantitative evaluation of the effectiveness of the stabilized inverse Q filtering approach. The quantitative evaluation shows that inverse Q filtering may flatten the amplitude spectrum, strengthen the time‐variant amplitude, increase the spectral bandwidth, and improve the signal‐to‐noise (S/N) ratio. A parameter measuring the resolution enhancement is defined as a function of the changes in the bandwidth and the S/N ratio. The stabilized inverse Q filtering algorithm, which may provide a stable solution for compensating the high‐frequency wave components lost through attenuation, has positive changes in both the bandwidth and the S/N ratio, and thereby enhances the resolution of the final processed seismic data.

The collaborative combat of manned/unmanned aerial vehicles (MAVs/UAVs) is a popular topic in combat application research. It maximizes the autonomous combat capability of UAVs and the control capability of MAVs. Furthermore, it improves the comprehensive combat effectiveness. The quantitative description of intercommunication in different aircrafts along with the evaluation of the collaborative combat capability is an emphasis in military research. This paper analyzes the collaborative combat process. Node and edge models are established in the MAV/UAV collaborative network. The intercommunication and combat behaviors among combat entities are analyzed. Based on the information entropy, the effect of capability uncertainties on the collaborative combat is described quantitatively. An evaluation method of the MAV/UAV collaborative combat capability is proposed. Finally, an example is given to demonstrate the proposed model and evaluation method that prove its feasibility and effectiveness.

The effectiveness of currently implemented wide range of strategic measures aimed at reducing the corruption and criminogenic potential in many spheres of life directly depends on their effectiveness in some key areas. The institute of anti-corruption expertise (ACE) of legislation, which now incorporates a considerable theoretical and methodological basis, requires further improvement and elimination of identified drawbacks. An almost decade of its history has been characterized by a steadily growing number of expert evaluations and the corresponding increase in the number of identified corruption-generating factors and the number of changes and amendments to normative acts. However, this dynamics is subject to controversial evaluations by analysts who talk about a routine formalistic approach and stereotyped, one-size-fits-all actions of experts and other parties involved in the multilateral mechanism of ACE. The analysis of information on the websites of professional bodies implementing ACE from the standpoint of quantitative indicators shows that this institute is effective. At the same time, the true criteria of effectiveness, connected with the improvements in the quality of the lawmaking process as a desirable result of implementing ACE, cannot be reduced to the evaluation of quantitative indicators alone. The monitoring of the effectiveness of measures implemented today within the ACE framework duly stresses the qualitative criteria of such effectiveness. Using them in the expert evaluation of municipal normative legal acts (NLA) and draft acts makes it possible to update the task of improving the quality of the lawmaking process at all levels of public administration. Municipal NLAs hold an important place both in the volume of the decisions made and the scope of public relations that they regulate, which sets the task of evaluating the quality of such acts to a new level. The analysis of the regional expert evaluation of municipal NLAs (using the example of Irkutsk Region) made it possible to compare the existing practices in this sphere and to identify typical circumstances that reduce the anti-criminogenic potential of ACE. The expertise aimed at identifying the corruption-generating factors in the law enforcement acts - in the personified decisions of the municipal bodies - is not common practice. At the same time, such NLAs at the individual level act as serious regulators of the legal sphere of peoples lives because they are connected with decisions on the provision of state support, the allocation of quotas, the distribution of expenses, etc.

Background: Assessing program effectiveness in human development is central to informing foreign aid policy-making and organizational learning. Foreign aid effectiveness discussions have increasingly given attention to the devaluing effects of aid flow volatility. This study reveals that the external evaluation event influences actor behavior, serving as a volatility-constraining tool. Method: A case study of a multidonor aid development mechanism served examining the influence of an evaluation event when considering anticipatory effects. The qualitative component used text and focus group data combined with individual interview data (organizations n = 10, including 26 individuals). Quantitative data included financial information on all 75 capital investments. The integrated theory of influence and model of alternative mechanisms used these components to identify the linkage between the evaluation event and capital flow volatility. Results: Aid approved in the year of the midterm evaluation was disbursed by the mechanism with low capital volatility. Anticipating the evaluation event influenced behavior resulting in an empirical record that program outcomes were enhanced and the mechanism was an improved organization. Implications: Formative evaluations in a development program can trigger activity as an interim process. That activity provides for a more robust assessment of ultimate consequence of interest. Anticipating an evaluation can stimulate donor reality testing. The findings inform and strengthen future research on the influence of anticipating an evaluation. Closely examining activities before, during, and shortly after the evaluation event can aid development of other systematic methods to improve understanding this phenomenon, as well as improve donor effectiveness strategies.

Quantification of acidity tolerance in the laboratory may be the first step in rhizobial strain selection for the Amazon region. The present method evaluated rhizobia in Petri dishes with YMA medium at pH 6.5 (control) and 4.5, using scores of 1.0 (sensitive, "no visible" growth) to 4.0 (tolerant, maximum growth). Growth evaluations were done at 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 day periods. This method permits preliminary selection of root nodule bacteria from Amazonian soils with statistical precision. Among the 31 rhizobia strains initially tested, the INPA strains 048, 078, and 671 presented scores of 4.0 at both pHs after 9 days of growth. Strain analyses using a less rigorous criterion (growth scores higher than 3.0) included in this highly tolerant group the INPA strains 511, 565, 576, 632, 649, and 658, which grew on the most diluted zone (zone 4) after 9 days. Tolerant strains still must be tested for nitrogen fixation effectiveness, competitiveness for nodule sites, and soil persistence before their recommendation as inoculants.

Companies are required to integrate a set of critical dimensions in order to measure and evaluate their performance to compete in globally competitive markets. Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is a quantitative metric, in the context of the total productive maintenance (TPM), attempts to measure and improve the effectiveness of manufacturing operations in three dimensions namely: availability, performance rate and quality rate. This study applies OEE to evaluate and improve the performance of a concrete block manufacturing system at Dler Company in Iraq. The study was conducted in two years of operation during 2016 and 2017. Results from 2016 show that the level of effectiveness was lower than the world class. An improvement in the average value of the OEE for 2017 was recorded, where the OEE value is increased in 2017 to 75% in comparison with its value in 2016 at 67%. It was also found that the reasons for this improvement are due to the enhancement that are made in the availability and quality.

The effectiveness of interchange diagrammatic guide signs has significant meaning in traffic safety and driver’s understanding. This paper presented a comprehensive evaluation and classification of interchange diagrammatic guide signs’ complexity. The effectiveness of interchange diagrammatic guide signs relies on how well road users can understand those diagrams. This study tested 37 types of diagrams on the visual recognition complexity degree in three levels, general level, partial level, and detailed level, and finally seven indexes are selected to evaluation and classification of interchange diagrammatic guide signs’ complexity. These indexes can be used to conduct quantitative evaluation and classification. And the result of diagram complexity range is between −1.366 and 2.046, which have a correlation with graph cognition complexity, including perspective of distribution, diagram character, essential element expression manner, and utilization degree, andK-means clustering method was used in the analysis. Based on the presented method, 37 types of diagrams are separated into three categories according to their complexity score: low complexity, medium complexity, and high complexity. This study not only presents a theoretical approach for quantitative evaluation of guide signs’ complexity and effectiveness but also can be a reference for traffic sign design and application.

Evaluating the quality of the user experience (UX) of existing products is important for new product development. Conventional UX evaluation methods, such as questionnaire, have the disadvantages of the great subjective influence of investigators and limited number of participants. Meanwhile, online product reviews on e-commerce platforms express user evaluations of product UX. Because the reviews objectively reflect the user opinions and contain a large amount of data, they have potential as an information source for UX evaluation. In this context, this study explores how to evaluate product UX through using online product reviews. A pilot study is conducted to define the key elements of a review. Then, a systematic method of product UX evaluation based on reviews is proposed. The method includes three parts: extraction of key elements, integration of key elements, and quantitative evaluation based on rough number. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by a case study using reviews of a wireless vacuum cleaner. Based on the proposed method, designers can objectively evaluate the UX quality of existing products and obtain detailed suggestions for product improvement.

This collection of housing programs aims to provide more social housing, support and incentives for leaving social housing and a better social housing experience. This document presents the protocol of the evaluation of these programs and the overarching Future Directions Strategy. Methods/Design: The evaluation will use a Type 1 effectiveness-implementation hybrid design, with an integrated, dual focus on assessing the effectiveness of Future Directions and better understanding the context for reform implementation. Program effectiveness will be examined using quasi-experimental techniques applied to linked administrative data. The implementation context will be examined via program level data, qualitative interviews and focus groups with stakeholders and tenants. Some quantitative survey and administrative data will also be used. Findings from the implementation evaluation will be used to inform and interpret the effectiveness evaluation. Economic evaluations will also be conducted. Discussion: This methodology will produce a high-quality evaluation of a large, complex government program which aims to facilitate rapid translational gains, real-time adoption of effective implementation strategies and generate actionable insights for policymakers.

Zimbabwe adopted Results Based Management (RBM) in order to evaluate the performance of its workers. For the process to be ‘significant’ and meet the basic attribute of utility, evaluation information should be focused towards predetermined uses. The objective of this study was to assess the significance of the teacher performance evaluation process and examine the relationship between the significance and the effectiveness of the evaluation system of Kwekwe district in Zimbabwe. The study was situated in the pragmatic worldview and underpinned by the Readiness Assessment, Design, Process, Significance (RADPS) conceptual framework. It adopted the convergent mixed method design and the concurrent sampling design. Simple random and purposive sampling techniques were used to select 292 teachers and 12 educators for the quantitative and qualitative research strands respectively. SPSS version 26 was used to analyse the quantitative data and qualitative data were analysed using Atlas ti. 8. Findings show that the evaluation process in the Kwekwe district has no meaningful consequences or implications on effectiveness of the evaluation system. RBM has failed to fulfil both the professional and accountability functions. The inferential statistics proved that the significance of an evaluation process is statistically significant in predicting and influencing the effectiveness of an evaluation system and in the case of Kwekwe district, the evaluation process negatively impacted on the effectiveness of evaluation of teachers. The study findings imply that an evaluation process should be carefully planned and implemented for professional and accountability functions of teachers to be effective.

Recently, remote sensing satellites have become increasingly important in the Earth observation field as their temporal, spatial, and spectral resolutions have improved. Subsequently, the quantitative evaluation of remote sensing satellites has received considerable attention. The quantitative evaluation method is conventionally based on simulation, but it has a speed-accuracy trade-off. In this paper, a real-time evaluation model architecture for remote sensing satellite clusters is proposed. Firstly, a multi-physical field coupling simulation model of the satellite cluster to observe moving targets is established. Aside from considering the repercussions of on-board resource constraints, it also considers the consequences of the imaging’s uncertainty effects on observation results. Secondly, a moving target observation indicator system is developed, which reflects the satellite cluster’s actual effectiveness in orbit. Meanwhile, an indicator screening method using correlation analysis is proposed to improve the independence of the indicator system. Thirdly, a neural network is designed and trained for stakeholders to realize a rapid evaluation. Different network structures and parameters are comprehensively studied to determine the optimized neural network model. Finally, based on the experiments carried out, the proposed neural network evaluation model can generate real-time, high-quality evaluation results. Hence, the validity of our proposed approach is substantiated.

Motor function evaluation is a significant part of post-stroke rehabilitation protocols, and the evaluation of wrist motor function helps provide patients with individualized rehabilitation training programs. However, traditional assessment is coarsely graded, lacks quantitative analysis, and relies heavily on clinical experience. In order to objectively quantify wrist motor dysfunction in stroke patients, a novel quantitative evaluation system based on force feedback and machine learning algorithm was proposed. Sensors embedded in the force-feedback robot record the kinematic and movement data of the subject, and the rehabilitation doctor used an evaluation scale to score the wrist function of the subject. The quantitative evaluation models of wrist motion function based on random forest (RF), support vector machine regression (SVR), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), and back propagation neural network (BPNN) were established, respectively. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed quantitative evaluation system, 25 stroke patients and 10 healthy volunteers were recruited in this study. Experimental results show that the evaluation accuracy of the four models is all above 88%. The accuracy of BPNN model is 94.26%, and the Pearson correlation coefficient between model prediction and clinician scores is 0.964, indicating that the BPNN model can accurately evaluate the wrist motor function for stroke patients. In addition, there was a significant correlation between the prediction score of the quantitative assessment system and the physician scale score (p < 0.05). The proposed system enables quantitative and refined assessment of wrist motor function in stroke patients and has the feasibility of helping rehabilitation physicians in evaluating patients’ motor function clinically.

Rehabilitation training and movement evaluation after stroke have become a research hotspot as stroke has become a very common and harmful disease. However, traditional rehabilitation training and evaluation are mainly conducted under the guidance of rehabilitation doctors. The evaluation process is time-consuming and the evaluation results are greatly influenced by doctors. In this study, a desktop upper limb rehabilitation robot was designed and a quantitative evaluation system of upper limb motor function for stroke patients was proposed. The kinematics and dynamics data of stroke patients during active training were collected by sensors. Combined with the scores of patients’ upper limb motor function by rehabilitation doctors using the Wolf Motor Function Test (WMFT) scale, three different quantitative evaluation models of upper limb motor function based on Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Support Vector Regression (SVR) algorithms were established. To verify the effectiveness of the quantitative evaluation system, 10 healthy subjects and 21 stroke patients were recruited for experiments. The experimental results show that the BPNN model has the best evaluation performance among the three quantitative evaluation models. The scoring accuracy of the BPNN model reached up to 87.1%. Moreover, there was a significant correlation between the models′ scores and the doctors′ scores. The proposed system can help doctors to quantitatively evaluate the upper limb motor function of stroke patients and accurately master the rehabilitation progress of patients.

A foundational survey provided cross-sectional data to identify beliefs about quitting smoking, that campaign messages should target, as well as beliefs to avoid. Pretesting draft ads against quantitative indicators of message effectiveness further facilitated the selection and rejection of final campaign ads. Finally, we consider lessons learned from the process of balancing quantitative methods and judgment to make formative decisions about more and less promising persuasive messages for campaigns.

This two-tier screening evaluation model introduces quantitative index and applies it to the full coverage analysis and calculation of the countries along the “Belt and Road”. The combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis forms a complete evaluation system from interconnection potential calculation to electricity investment environment. The empirical analysis demonstrates the effectiveness of two-tier screening evaluation model where the analysis result may serve as the scientific reference of promoting grid interconnection of the countries along the “Belt and Road”.

Evaluating proficiency in simulation-based combat casualty training includes the assessment of hands-on training with mannequins through instructor observation. The evaluation process is error-prone due to high student–instructor ratios as well as the subjective nature of the evaluation process. Other logistical inconsistencies, such as the short amount of time to observe individual student performance, can lessen training effectiveness as well. The simulation-based methodology described in this article addresses these challenges by way of quantitative assessment of training effectiveness in combat casualty training. The methodology discusses adaptation of Lempel–Ziv (LZ) complexity indexing to quantify psychomotor activity that is otherwise only subjectively estimated by an instructor. LZ indexing has been successfully used to assess proficiency in related studies of simulation-based training conducted by Bann et al. at the Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine in London, and more recently by Watson at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This type of analysis has been applied to using simulation as a tool to assess not only mastery of a task, but as a method to assess whether a particular simulator and training approach actually works. Data have been gathered from nearly 100 military combat medic trainees at Joint Base Lewis McChord Medical Simulation Training Center. Participant hand-acceleration data from an emergency surgical cricothyrotomy reveals a statistically significant difference in ability between expertise levels. The higher the LZ scores and self-reported expertise level, the better the participant performed. The results show that when presented with demographic and video performance-based data, it is possible to gauge experience by applying LZ scoring to motion data. The methodology provides an objective measure that complements the subjective component of simulation-based cricothyrotomy training assessments. Further study is needed to determine whether this methodology would provide similar assessment advantages in other medical training in which speed and accuracy would be significant factors in determining procedural expertise.

This research aims to evaluate an education and training program in a government institution, specifically in PNT Education and Training Program of Bauxite Ore in West Borneo which is conducted every year by Pusdiklat MINERBA Bandung, Indonesia. The research purpose is to describe the effectiveness of the existing education and training program (Diklat) so that it could be improved to complete the implementation of similar programs in the future. Specifically, this research focused on measuring level of effectiveness from three aspects, which includes the reaction, learning, and potential behavioural changes aspect. The data was collected by using quantitative approach with descriptive evaluative method. There were 15 participants involved in this research. The result showed that the reaction level of participant toward the Diklat program was quite effective (63.39%). This aspect has a quite significant achievement in that there was a positive attitude of most of the participants in implementing the result of the program in workplace. Learning level of the participant increased with x ̅= 0.42 based on the pre-test and post-test result, while the measurement of potential behaviour changes level showed that the average score of participants' belief could be classified into high level (74%). In conclusion, the program had been conducted well and could be classified into effective level category.

Introduction: Laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) also known as extra esophageal reflux disease refers to retrograde flow of gastric contents to the upper aero-digestive tract. Belafsky, Postma, and Koufman have developed the reflux finding score (RFS) to diagnose LPR. My aim was to test the score in patients with LPR to reveal the validity and effectiveness of present medical management based on changes in RFS.Materials and Methods: One hundred patients with LPR were examined prospectively in District Hospital Pulwamawith 70 degree Hopkins endoscope and RFS was evaluated both before start and completion of a set medical management with lifestyle modifications. 76.7% patients reported symptomatic improvement after one month of treatment. There was no significant quantitative decrease in RFS after one month of treatment.Conclusion: Based on this study RFS is a reliable and quantitative system to evaluate and follow up patients at the time of diagnosis and subsequent evaluation after therapy.International Journal of Human and Health Sciences Vol. 03 No. 02 April’19.
