The intensive development of new technologies creates special conditions for the implementation of labor functions by specialists in various professional fields. The most active introduction of innovations and technological advances takes place in the activities of large and small industries. It is at this stage that a peculiar assessment of the quality and «usefulness» of the results of engineering solutions introduced into practical operation takes place. This is fully felt in the form of reliable operation of products, increased labor efficiency, saving working time, leveling production risks and improving the economic well-being of the enterprise. An engineer, as a representative of senior technical professions, able to optimize and improve the work of an individual workshop and organization as a whole, becomes a key figure for the entire general production cycle. It should be noted that a huge number of engineering professions are represented on the modern labor market. At the same time, an engineer of different professional orientation, involved in various fields, carries fundamentally different loads and can perform functions different from the descriptions of classical engineering work. The intensive participation of an engineer, as a representative of technical professions in such fields as medicine, education, testifies to the high social importance of engineering work, and supports the relevance of the growing interest in the profession of engineer. In turn the direct relation to creation of technologies (designing, design, planning) or direct – the indirect relation to technical support of work of the enterprise staff, brings up the questions concerning reliability of engineering activity. The main developments of theoretical and applied nature, reflecting the specific features of engineering activities, its reliability, were carried out within the framework of engineering psychology and ergonomics. Traditionally, they reveal the essence of operator labor («man-operator») and the work of a specialist operating complex automated complexes («man-technician»). However, the replenishment of the list of engineering professions with new types, as well as the complication of professional tasks of generally recognized ones, the inclusion of new functions in them creates an applicant for a more detailed study of it.

The article contains the results of theoretical analysis on the problem of determining psychological factors of reliability of professional activity of the engineer. This trend is due to the interest and popularity of modern technical professions in the educational and economic spheres, as well as the need to implement tasks to train specialists able to successfully integrate into the production process, to perform job duties qualitatively. The differences and peculiarities of engineering activity are specified on the example of professionals engaged in various labour spheres (industry, education), as well as the spectrum of modern engineering professions, whose activity has significant differences from "standard" technical directions, which require additional attention in the process of disclosure of its psychological content. It is noted that despite the vast experience in the field of theoretical and practical research of professional activities of different specifications and psychological criteria of evaluation of its quality of development, revealing peculiarities of formation of professional reliability of the specialist very little. Most works pay special attention to the structure of professionally significant qualities or personal-professional qualities, ensuring the safety of activities on the example of professions with public order, public servants and teachers, but the aspects of reliability of engineering are insufficiently and generically represented, which made the developments of this direction relevant.

IntroductionIn our days the professional reliability of servicemen is an important issue. Servicemen not only protect the state but also ensure a stable and harmonious life of society (Vagin, 2012). This profession is extreme for life, therefore the significance of human error in this profession is very high. Study of personal characteristics forming professional reliability is important for professional psychological selection. The study was supported by the RFBR #19-013-00799 А.ObjectivesStudy of the psychological factors for reliability of servicemen.MethodsThe study involved 708 servicemen, the average age of 20.3 (min – 18, max – 32), the sample consisted only of men. The methodological package included the following methods: Managerial stress survey — MSS (Leonova, 2007), The Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (Kapustina, 2001).ResultsThe exploratory factor analysis revealed that the professional reliability includes the following personal characteristics: low level of Сhronic stress (-0.851), Emotional Stability (0.823), Motivational Distortion (0.761), Apprehensiveness (-0.716). The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin Measure of Sampling Adequacy = 0.781, and Bartlett’s test of sphericity = 865.26 (p = 0.0001), the total variance of this factor is 62.4%.ConclusionsAccording to this factor, the profile of professional reliability of each serviceman was compiled: low stress level, self-confidence, non-fearfulness, efficiency, high self-esteem, personal maturity. In the future, confirmatory factor analysis will be performed, and the relationship of this scale with objective data will be investigated.

The purpose of the article. In the process of our empirical research, we had the aim to examine the level of professional reliability of doctors who performed their professional duties during the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine. We assumed that the higher the level of professional reliability was, the more effectively doctors will perform their own professional activities in unusual, extreme conditions of their professional activity. The research involved 550 doctors of Rivne Regional Hospital (Rivne, Ukraine). Methods and methodical instrumentation of the research. To solve the problem of our research, a set of methods was used, the choice and combination of which have been determined by the subject, the purpose and the objectives of this research: - theoretical methods – theoretical and methodological analysis of scientific sources and available according to the problem of our research psychological approaches: their systematization, classification, generalization, theoretical modeling to study the phenomenon of professional reliability of doctors who worked in difficult conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine; - empirical methods – the observation, the interview, a questionnaire, testing, the method of expert assessments, which have been used for a deeper, holistic research of the structure of professional reliability of doctors; psychological and pedagogical experiment in the form of the empirical studying of the formation of a structure of professional reliability of doctors. The results of the research. We proved, that for specialists of medical sphere of the activity with a high level of professional reliability there was a main characteristic: the ability to perform professional activities in special and extreme conditions, the formation of professional and moral culture of a doctor, the constant development of components of his/her professional competence, professional readiness and professional reflection, the ability to implement effective psychological and acmeological influences, the development of reflective culture, the formation of a harmonious “self-concept” in professional and managerial activities, the actualization of psychological mechanisms, conditions, factors and determinants of the person’s professional development, etc. In our opinion, the professional reliability of a doctor is characterized by: a high level of stable productivity (or efficiency) of the professional activity; a high level of professional qualification and developed professional competence; optimal intensity of the professional activity; a high level of accuracy and reliability; a high level of organization of the professional activity; low indirectness (depending on purely external factors); creativity; the possibility of developing the subject of the professional activity and ensuring the actual professional growth; focus on achieving positive socially significant goals and results. Conclusions. We proved that bifurcation space of a professionally reliable Doctor includes: the ability to transfer professional experience; a high stable productivity of professional activity; the responsibility for the decisions having been made and their implementation; the ability to achieve own goals in any case; professional knowledge and the experience to be the director of some medical organization; the ability to act in critical situations and situations of cognitive dissonance; the ability to control the flow of doctors’ professional activity; a high level of professional competence; the ability to make and clearly implement their own decisions. If these components of a professionally reliable Doctor are formed at a high level, the Doctor can perform his/her professional activity with a high degree of its productivity, in difficult pandemic conditions, in situations of stress and cognitive dissonance. The latter emphasizes on the difference between the capabilities and the style of internal activity of Doctors who provide their activity in a period of COVID-19 pandemic: the ability to achieve meanings until the moment of meaningful acceptance of surrounding us reality and move on – to expand the meaning of the symbolic space (which is the COVID-19 pandemic) and, according to this, to show the measures of our own meaningful space (human life in a pandemic). Such conditions significantly encourage doctors to improve themselves as real professionals, to update their own professional reliability.

Surgery depends on inter-professional teamwork, which is becoming increasingly specialized. If surgery is to become a highly reliable system, it must adapt and professionals must learn from, and share, tested models of inter-professional teamwork. Trainers also need valid measures of teamwork to assess individual and team performance. However, measurement and assessment of inter-professional teamwork is lacking and inter-professional team training is scarce in the surgical domain. The presentation will address the complexity of measuring inter-professional teamwork in the operating theatre. It will focus mainly on the design and properties of observational assessment tools and will describe in some detail the “Observational Teamwork Assessment for Surgery” (OTAS) that our group has developed. We aim to inform the researcher or clinician of the issues to consider when designing or choosing from alternative measures of team performance for training or assessment.

The article pays attention to the development of professional reliability of a specialist. The period of study at a higher educational institution is of particular interest. A number of indicators are listed that underlie the phenomenon we are studying and that are laid down in this period of time. The priority goals of education are given, which are actively implemented in the university for the training of highly qualified technical professionals. The importance of developing the problem of maintaining the psychological foundations of labor reliability on the example of engineering professions is noted. The essence of the profession of engineer and traditional types of engineering areconsidered. The «niches» of the modern labor market are indicated where there is constant demand in engineering personnel. The list of expectations of the potential employer in relation to the applicant for the engineering and technical position in the organization (in production) is covered. Guided by the theoretical analysis of the work of domestic and foreign researchers, an attempt is made to derive psychological indicators of professional reliability. It describes the relationship of the level of acquired indicators with the leveling of production risks and the quality of work of employees of the enterprise. The emphasis is placed on profiling engineering specialties in order to specify all aspects of the psychological features of the reliability of the engineer's work. Methodological foundations are selected for the study of the specifics of engineering activities as an integrative type (activity approach, systemogenetic, professional, integrative-typological). A list of professionally significant qualities of engineers of different orientations is compiled as a guideline for compiling a psychodiagnostic research program. For ease of description of results, all parameters are enlarged into four master blocks. A set of test material, a student contingent, as well as diagnostic results are described. According to the results, a conclusion is drawn up.

In the modern conditions of fulfilling professional duties, the issue of studying the personal and professional qualities of specialists of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia has a special importance. Today, issues related to the study of the specifics of the professional qualities of specialists of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia within the framework of scientific issues of modern psychology are of increasing importance. This is due to a number of factors, both the need for a deeper study of the principles of the formation of special skills and abilities, professionally important personal qualities of specialists of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, and insufficient scientific development, which puts these issues among the most relevant. We carried out analytical understanding of psychological and pedagogical literature on the topic. The theoretical and methodological analysis of the reliability problem indicates that it is not considered as an independent problem and is not established in the traditionally existing systems of selection, training, support of specialists. We considered the structure of reliability in the context of professional and personal qualities of specialists of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia working in conditions involving danger to life. We gave an analysis of factors affecting the professional and personal reliability of a specialist of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Personal and professional reliability of a specialist of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia is a characteristic of personal features and qualities that determine the stability of reference normative behavior by indicators of personal reliability in professional activity. At the same time, another important parameter of personal-professional reliability is the moral and moral qualities of the specialist, his spiritual and moral maturity. We presented the results of research on the study of personal and professional qualities conducted with specialists of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia.

Relevance. In occupations with high demands for resistance to stress, the reliability of conscious self-regulation is considered an important factor ensuring personnel reliability. This interdisciplinary study takes place at the intersection of general psychology, psychology of self-regulation, labor psychology, professional psychology, and extreme psychology. Objective. To study the reliability of self-regulation as a universal and special resource for achieving goals under stressful conditions in high-risk occupations. Methodology. Representatives of high-risk occupations — sailors (N = 139), pilots (N = 33), rescuers (N = 123) — and low-risk professions (teachers, N = 154) took part in the study. Individual differences in self-regulation and its reliability under stress were assessed by means of the Self-Regulation Profile Questionnaire (V.I. Morosanova & N.G. Kondratyuk, 2011). Results. Self-regulation and its reliability in stressful conditions were found to be significantly greater among the high-risk professions than the low-risk ones. There were no significant differences in self-regulation reliability between the different groups of high-risk professionals. Using one-way ANOVA and Cohen’s effect size measures, differences in self-regulation variables were found between experts and novices for different professional groups. Among sailors and pilots, significant differences were found between experts and novices only for one variable: reliability of self-regulation. Quite the opposite result was obtained for the teachers: Experts differ significantly from novices in all self-regulation parameters except for reliability of self-regulation. Conclusion. The study substantiated the view that reliability of self-regulation is a universal and special regulatory resource for professional goal achievement. The research results allow us to conclude that in high-risk occupations, reliability of self-regulation may serve as a professional resource ensuring efficiency, faultless operation, and safety.

\ The Professional Quality of Life (ProQOL) instrument has been in use in some variation for decades with the most recent iteration becoming available in 2009. With twelve years of changes in the workforce plus applications of the ProQOL in novel professional groups, it is critical to determine if the tool is still reliable and valid. Data obtained from specific occupational groups, specifically college resident assistants (RAs) and substance abuse professionals (SAPs), will be utilized to explore if the measure holds up to past research claiming high reliability and validity. It is possible that the RAs (n=358) and the SAPs (n=40) will be outliers from these claims due to their unique positionality in their roles or due to the amount of time that has passed since the last update of the ProQOL.

The public, healthcare commissioners and regulators rightly seek assurances about delivery of reliable, high-quality surgical care. The Department of health's 'never events' framework 1 specifically lists patient misidentification, wrong-site surgery and retained swabs and instruments as unacceptable occurrences. Professional conversations reveal many seemingly inconsequential daily occurrences that have an impact on patient outcome and ongoing management. Unfortunately, many of these incidents are not reported formally by those involved, which limits the opportunity for professionals and organisations to learn from subsequent analysis.

This paper introduces an auditor reliability framework that repositions the role of auditor independence in the accounting profession. The framework is motivated in part by widespread confusion about independence and the auditing profession's continuing problems with managing independence and inspiring public confidence. We use philosophical, theoretical, and professional arguments to argue that the public interest will be best served by reprioritizing professional and ethical objectives to establish reliability in fact and appearance as the cornerstone of the profession, rather than relationship-based independence in fact and appearance. This revised framework requires three foundation elements to control subjectivity in auditors' judgments and decisions: independence, integrity, and expertise. Each element is a necessary but not sufficient condition for maximizing objectivity. Objectivity, in turn, is a necessary and sufficient condition for achieving and maintaining reliability in fact and appearance.

The purpose of this study is to investigate computing professionals’ perspectives on services offered by a professional association. A conceptual framework was developed based on a review of relevant literatures to explore the motivations of professionals to join and maintain professional association membership. A survey instrument was developed based on the conceptual framework, and was subsequently deployed within the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP). The analyses (N = 220) include descriptive analyses, exploratory factor analysis, and internal consistency reliability analyses. The results suggest that members’ needs and motivations are multidimensional, involving ten distinct and internally consistent underlying constructs. This paper contributes by providing a reliable measurement system for computing professional association leadership to make informed decisions and provides substantive recommendations for offering targeted services. The findings suggest that important aspects of computing professional membership are networking with local professionals, professional development programs, and promoting their concerns.

The article presents the systematic theoretical and methodological analysis of psychological aspects of sailors’ professional work reliability. Sailors’ reliability is associated with their performance capacity, which affects efficiency of their work and reflects, to a greater extent, the procedural work characteristics. We have determined the main integral indicators of sailors’ work: efficiency (work achievements: productivity, speed, completeness, etc.) and quality (functional or technical characteristics). A marine specialist’s reliability is determined by their erroneous actions or through the category of human performance capacity, but this category focuses mainly on a specialist’s internal potentialities and capabilities, but does not fully disclose the working process (stability of functioning) and its result (reliability, failure-free). The features of sailors’ stress and its consequences are described. The features of sea transport specialists’ professional competence in the aspect of psychological readiness for work are determined. The reliability of sailors’ professional work is determined not only by professional characteristics, but also by their motivational, cognitive, psychomotor, emotional-volitional, temperamental and personal characteristics. Researchers describe the signs of professional work reliability with the aim not only to identify the procedural and effective parameters of work, but also to determine corresponding psychophysiological characteristics. The parameters assessing sailor’s psychological readiness to reliable professional work are determined. The psychological and physiological mechanisms stabilizing sea and river transport specialists’ health is determined; we should point that prolonged and intensive work lead to decreased working capability, fatigue, as a natural body reaction determined physiologically. The mechanisms stabilizing psychological health and the main stages of the formation of marine specialists’ work reliability are theoretically substantiated: potential professional physical and psychological readiness, individual characteristics leading to professional mistakes at sea, high-quality professional education and further trainings, adaptation to professional activities at sea, regular work. Regular trainings are important, because they help to improve sailors’ psycho-emotional stability. Professional training for the specialists should involve the development of their self-regulation as a psychological mechanism ensuring the reliability of their professional work. Psychological support of professional education can act as a technology forming the reliability of marine specialists’ professional work. Such psychological support shall help to create an orientation field for sailors’ professional development, strengthening their professional Self, maintaining their adequate self-esteem, helping them master the methods for professional psychological self-preservation. However, the widely used practice to assess only limited number of skills limits also the development of a holistic portfolio that includes all the necessary skills required for good reliability and efficiency at the workplace with certain responsibility. The examined scientific studies have shown that maritime transport specialists’ work take place in extreme conditions, so in order to improve their reliability, training alerts, simulators, business games and psychological trainings should be used.

oday’s military aviation imposes ever increasing requirements on the pilots’ professional qualities, thus complicating the problems related to the improvement of the quality of professional selection and training of military pilots. The research conducted by V.A. Ponomarenko and V.A. Bodrov introduced the term “prolonged selection” into aviation psychology, meaning professional psychological support of flight training. The forecasting of successful training at the early stage is an important part of this support and is the focus of this paper.Methods. The aim of the study was to verify the forecast of successful flight training based on the professional psychological selection (PPS) at early stages of professional training and feasibility of such forecast in the form of integral estimation. For that purpose the authors used the academic progress estimates, the results of piloting skills development using flight simulators, the dynamics of professionally important qualities (PIQ) of cadets during the first two years of training in comparison with those indicators obtained during the PPS. The sample included 143 cadets. The test subjects were surveyed at their admission to the flight school and in the first two years of the course according to programs prescribed by the regulatory documents of the Russian Ministry of Defense and command of the Aerospace Forces. The survey is an obligatory condition for enrollment in a flight school and the subsequent flight training and does not contradict today’s ethical standards of scientific research. The surveyed cadets were distributed into two groups per categories of professional aptitude based on the results of PIQ survey conducted during the professional psychological selection: the 1-st group (55 people), the “fit” with good professional aptitude indicators, and the 2-nd group (88 people), the “conditionally fit” with acceptable professional aptitude indicators. Statistical analysis was carried out with Microsoft Office 2007 Excel descriptive statistics, Student’s t-test criterion for unpaired samples.Results. The survey showed that the “fit” group, as compared to the “conditionally fit” are better adapted to the conditions of military service, have higher indicators of cognitive mental processes and sensorimotor abilities. They master course content and simulator training better. At the same time, in terms of their physiological and physical qualities the cadets of the two surveyed groups are indistinguishable and all show good results, which is confirmed by their grades in physical education and shows their good physical development and fitness.Conclusions. The forecast of successful flight training made at the stage of professional psychological selection as a category of professional aptitude is confirmed at the initial stages of the cadets’ training during professional psychological support activities. The integral estimation composed of the results of academic progress, psychological, psychophysiological inspection survey data, results of simulator training can be used in subsequent flight training as the input for individual professional training programs. In order to improve the reliability of training, integrated automated methods are planned to be developed for the purpose of diagnosing current flying PIQs, as well as methods of their improvement and development [4].

The Chinese version of the Family-Professional Partnership Scale (FPPS-C) measures satisfaction with mutually established parent-professional partnerships. This study aimed to evaluate the measurement properties of the FPPS-C Family and Professional Versions. The participants comprised 167 parents who had a child enrolled in an early intervention program, and 200 early intervention professionals in Taiwan. Structural validity, internal consistency, test–retest reliability, and construct validity were examined. The Family Version denoted a single-dimensional scale with high internal consistency (α = .99) and adequate test–retest reliability (intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC] = 0.54). The Professional Version showed a three-factor structure with moderate to adequate internal consistency (α = .64–.90) and test–retest reliabilities (ICC = 0.60–0.77). Construct validity was evidenced through positive associations between parental and professional perceptions on partnerships and to family-centered service provision. The FPPS-C is a reliable and valid measure, and the study findings can influence research initiatives and practices that aim to ameliorate the provision of family-centered services by early intervention programs.

The article deals with the issues of theoretical and methodological substantiation of the study of the psychological structure of personal reliability of business entities. A series of theoretical peculiarities of reliability research of entrepreneurs is described. Conceptual approaches that deepen the concept of personal reliability and expand knowledge about the psychological structure of business entities are presented and described. Development and formation of personal reliability of entrepreneurs in professional activity should be considered in the following directions – activity, reliability and community. So, professional activity of entrepreneurs is inter-subjective: professional reliability is based on positive self-determination in interaction, and professional community is due to the inclusion of entrepreneurs in collective activities, which is based on positive self- identification with the participants of the interaction. Accordingly, one should pay attention to the fact that the subject of entrepreneurial activity acts simultaneously as an organizer, designer, carrier of a personal position, which involves self- determination, self-organization, self-conscious professional activity. The prospect of further research is a combination of relatively homogeneous components of the personality of a specialist with a wider system of professional qualities of an entrepreneur. From these positions, the structural analysis of the entrepreneurial professional potential enables one to study not only personal qualities, but also the influence of the social environment, which combines the internal and external characteristics of the specialist in his professional development.

AbstractThe definition and measurement of counsellor trainee competency is an issue that has received increased attention yet lacks quantitative study. This research evaluates item responses, scale reliability and intercorrelations, interrater agreement, and criterion-related validity of the Professional Performance Fitness Evaluation/Professional Counseling Performance Evaluation, a measure used by counsellor educators to evaluate professional fitness. The results identified several scale items that were insensitive to substandard skill levels and indicated that university and site supervisors' trainee ratings did not agree. Both site and university supervisors did identify a majority of students demonstrating substandard skills, and when the site and university supervisors' ratings were combined, the supervisors identified 79% of the noncompetent trainees.

Introduction: Shieffield Peer Review Assessment (SPRAT) is an instrument to assess medical student’s performance using Multi Source Feedback (MSF) method. The previous study stated that MSF with SPRAT is an effective tool assessing professional behaviour (PB) of nursing students both in clinical setting and community setting. However it needs more items to be added. Based on that explanation, it needs conducting validity and reliability test to make sure that the tool is valid and reliable. Method: There were two types of validity test used, content validity test and construct validity test as well as reliability test, namely inter-rater reliability test and item covariance test. Participants were four clinical instructors and 116 nursing students. Result: Content validity test showed that two items must be added as part of assessment item, namely diciplines and faithness. Furthermore construct validity test showed that five items were not valid since they had pearson correlation score <0.3. However the items were included as consideration of nursing students’s PB. Inter-rater reliability test and item covariance reliability test showed that the tool was reliable with score 0.460 and 0.912 respectively. Discussion: The assessment tool can be applied to assess PB of nursing students since it valid and reliable. It needs to investigate the effectiveness of the tool in difference of PB of nursing students. Keywords: validity, reliability, assessment tool of PB (professional behaviour)

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present a model to assist school leaders in managing the professional development activities of teachers. The model illustrates the important role of principals in promoting continuing professional development (CPD), chiefly by cultivating a collaborative learning culture and formulating policy. Design/methodology/approach This study tested a framework based on the input of 103 CPD coordinators in Hong Kong, who participated in a quasi-experimental design questionnaire survey. Factor analysis and reliability tests were applied to verify the constructed validity and reliability of a self-developed instrument. A Structural Equation Model (SEM) was then applied to confirm the model. Findings The result of the SEM shows that principal support has a predictive effect on CPD policy and a collaborative learning culture, while the effectiveness of a CPD plan is predicted by collaborative culture and management strategy. Originality/value This study contributes theoretically to existing literature and practically to school leaders, by supplying a model for managing teacher CPD.

Relevance. Professional reliability is a complex multidimensional construct that is used to predict the professional success of specialists working in extreme conditions. Such forecasting is possible in large-scale studies using complex mul- ti-stage modeling, but the forecast will be abstract, not applicable to individual cases. An alternative is to predict certain aspects of success. At the same time, the components of “personal reliability” have the greatest predictive value, since with the development of civilization and changes in the “man-machine” relationship, the internal content of professional reliability shifted from a predominantly functional component to motivational, moral and socio-psychological, including the phenomenon of self-regulation. The purpose of the research is to study the components of personal reliability as possible predictors of certain aspects of professional success of rescuers. Sample: 31 specialists (men), rescuers of one of the Subdivision Ministry of Emergency Situations AQUASPASS, aged 24 to 45 years. Research methods: expert assessment of professional success; self-assessment of the level of professionalism; case method; test questionnaire A.V. Zverkova and E.V. Eydman “Research of volitional self-regulation”; “11 personality factors”; test “Motivational Profile” by Ritchie S., Martin P.; Rosenzweig frustration test; “Express methodology” for studying the social and psychological climate in a team (OS Mikhalyuk and A.Yu. Shalyto); diagnostics of the attractiveness of labor (V.M. Snetkov). Conclusions (briefly): a) it is possible to use the indicator of success in a training situation as a predictor of professional success; b) the influence of each of the components of personal reliability on different aspects of professional success is differentiated, therefore, forecasting is more optimal also in differentiated options; c) the effectiveness of socio-psychological interaction makes an important contribution to professional success, and the components of the socio-psychological climate play different roles in this.

The research used the Thomas-Kilman Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) (more specifically, TKI-R, the Russian adaptation by N.V. Grishina) psychodiagnostic procedure to assess the behaviour strategy in conflict situations, as well as the Buss-Durkee Inventory to determine the tendency of subjects to various forms of aggressive behaviour. Statistical processing of the findings was done using the Bravais-Pearson correlation coefficient and Pearson’s criterion. Results. At the first stage of the multipurpose experiment 48 student dispatchers were surveyed, at the second stage the total of 603 subjects were surveyed (students of the Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation and the Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Media Communications of the Irkutsk State University), i.e. while emphasizing operator professions in order to improve the validity of the experiment the sample was significantly extended to include, among others, students of the humanities. It was found that the results of the Buss-Durkee Inventory have an inverse correlation with the tendency to an adaptation strategy and direct correlation with the tendency to rivalry and collaboration strategies. According to Pearson’s fitting criterion, there are significant differences in the manifestation of such behaviour styles as rivalry and avoidance between pilot and humanities students, while for the samples of males and females the differences are in the manifestation of such behaviour stiles as rivalry, avoidance and compromise. Females are significantly less inclined to rivalry and somewhat more inclined to avoidance and compromise as compared to males. There are also no observable crucial differences between the intercorrelations of the TKI-R results of the first and second stages of the experiment. The authors’ findings were compared with the published results of the survey of the students of the Tuvan State University and Yaroslavl State Medical University, as well as with the results of surveys of athletes and business owners. Conclusions. By generalizing own findings and those set forth in other authors’ publications, we can conclude that uncooperative behaviour of all tested students is dominated by average manifestation of strategies of competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding and accommodating, which indicates the ability of the subjects of this age for flexible behaviour in conflict situations subject to the specific conditions of interaction. That means that students, unlike the success-seeking business owners, while prioritizing collaboration and compromise in conflict situations, flexibly use other behaviour strategies.
