The role of the media is determined by the irsocial purpose, which is primarily to inform and shape public opinion. The division of the pressa ccording to the nature of its audienceis one of the main criteria for classifying the media, where along with specialized publications for specialists in a particular field the reare newspaper sand magazines for non-specialists. As a rule, these editions publish professional information, trying to presentitin a formunderst and able to a person who does not have professiona knowledge in general and special terminology to satisfy his orher information needs to the maximum extent possible. We focused our attentionon the legal information and analytical newspaper for non-legal professionals – “Radnyk Starosty”, which presents legal information in an interesting and understandable form. An important step in the study of specialized publications that covered legal issues in various way sis to identify and analyze their thematic and typological specificity. The study of the socio-political conditions for the development of this type of specialized press, the peculiarities of the activities of editorial boards, and the problematic and the maticemp has is givesus an understanding of the marke needs intermsofin for mationrequestsandrequirements of society in the modern historical period, determines the necessary competencies of the author's team to create legal content demanded by the audience, and also reveals the possibilities of the existence of an original press that can not in any way be a Ukrainian analogue of an international corporation. The specialized press, which functioned and developed in independent Ukraine, is now gradually attracting the research attention of scholars. However, the corpus of legal publications belonging to the specialized press remainspoorly researched to day. Since the system of legislation of each country is unique and original, the impact of globalization processeson such publications is lesssignifi cant and is mostly manifested in the forms of information presentation and platforms on which they are placed, rather than in the content they produce. The specialized legal press for a narrowaudience – in this case, for non-legal professionals – has not been the subjec to fresearch by communication scholars in general, nor has the thematic and typological image of publications, in particular the news paper “Radnyk Starosty” (Kharkiv, 2016–2022), which was published for this readership, has been studied. Wedefine this audience, which the foundersof the news paper were focused on, by the concept of “non-specialists”, i.e. persons who do not have a professional legal education, but in connection with the tasks they perform must be sufficiently legally literate. The aim is to study the peculiarities of forming legal knowledgein a newspaper for non-specialists. The objectives are to summarize the experience of the editorial board of the publication “Radnyk Starosty” (2016–2022) in creating a model of a legal newspaper for non-specialists. Thematic and typological features of a number of periodical sareconsideredin the works of T. Davydchenko, V. Ivanov, M. Nedopytanskyi, T. Khitrova and other scholars. Most researchers point out that the main characteristics of the specialized press are the parameters of the problematic and thematic focus and the nature of the audience. T. Fisenko proposes a marketing approach to the distribution of such magazines. Researcher V. Shevchenko presents the components of the division of journals by readership, where she distinguishes publications for specialists, for a widerange of readers, and for certain groups of readers, but at the same time notes that journals of the same the maticfocus can be intended for both specialist sand a widerangeofreaders. The typology of specialized publications is discussed in detail in the monograph “Business Press of Ukraine” by L. Dudchenko, in which the author no test hat “the maincatalyst for the development of business media is the readershipanditsreadines stoperceive economic information”. The typological system of specialized medical press, which is based on two basic principles: the audience factor and the goals of communication activity, was proposed by V. Sadivnychyi.

<p>The aim of this paper is to analyze the use of the term “compliance”, considered one of the most popular topics in the legal-economic field in 2017 and 2018 in the Spanish press to determine whether there is a preference for its use in English, for its translation into Spanish or for both options. A corpus methodology has been used to study the frequency of use of the term in two generalist newspapers (El País and La Vanguardia) and two specialized ones (Expansión and El Economista), during the period between January 2017 and October 2018. The results show a preference for the use of the term in English, although this trend is accentuated in the specialized press in comparison with the general press. From a terminological perspective this analysis helps develop training and the profession of the translator since it is a contribution for the acquisition of the lexical competence necessary for professional translation.</p>

<p><strong><em>The purpose of the study</em></strong><em> is to identify and characterize the trends in the formation of functional, genre-thematic features of the Ukrainian book press «Friend of the Reader», published at the turn of XX–XXI centuries, and its promotional potential.</em></p><p><strong><em>Research methodology</em></strong><em>. The study used a set of methods, including: historical – to determine the nature of the transformation of the press as an object of study in Ukrainian journalism, to reconstruct the Ukrainian history of the formation of the press of this type (book press); contextual – to determine the influence of socio-political, cultural, market factors on the formation of the system of thematic and rubric complexes of the newspaper «Friend of the reader»; content analysis with elements of discursive analysis – to establish the interdependence between the typological characteristics and the rubrication organization of the press, their content; to outline and interpret an array of texts of different genres and different topics, on the basis of which the main trends in the formation of the then literary and publishing process and the book market in general are considered; comparative – for the analysis of the years of the book newspaper «Friend of the reader» of different years; descriptive-analytical – to identify the factors characteristic of the journalistic way of reflecting on the defining phenomena and processes of the then book market; system – to determine the place of the analyzed magazine in the system of book periodicals, book periodicals in the system of the then Ukrainian press in general, their role in forming the foundation for modern thematically specialized media.</em></p><p><strong><em>Results. </em></strong><em>Observations and conclusions presented in the scientific publication deepen the understanding of the principles of functioning of press mass media of book topics in Ukrainian society, can serve as a theoretical basis for studying the general picture of the formation of modern Ukrainian cultural periodicals. Of particular interest is the study of the newspaper «Reader’s Friend» in the context of not a specialized press, and a magazine designed for a wide range of readers with a specific thematic focus, with a focus on cultural and educational function.</em></p><p><em>The affiliation of the newspaper «Friend of the Reader» to the book press is substantiated (grounds: specialization in complex book topics as one of the areas of cultural and educational journalism; appeal to a wide readership (non-professionals and professionals) with a strong focus on a particular type of information product (bibliophiles).</em></p><p><strong><em>Novelty.</em></strong><em> In the article within the terminological system of journalism we introduce the concept of «book press» as a set of specialized print media (press releases), the defining criterion of specialization of which is chosen thematic focus, in contrast to common in journalism interpretation of «specialized press» as a professional field. «Book» means press releases (in particular, on the example of the newspaper «Friend of the Reader»), specializing in covering a wide range of issues related to the functioning of the book in society.</em></p><p><strong><em>Practical significance</em></strong><em>. The tendencies common for the outlined array of press releases are revealed: movement towards massification, as a result – expansion of readership, transition to pop format, combination of socio-communicative functions aimed at meeting the needs of different focus groups (information, literary, cultural, educational, relaxation); the intensification of advertising and promotional functions in the conditions of formation of the Ukrainian mass media market is indicated. The results of the study can be used for further research and in the educational process in the training of future journalists, advertisers, specialists in the field of social communications.</em></p><p><strong><em>Key words:</em></strong><em> book press, press media, professional magazine, cultural journalism, readership, target audience.</em></p>

The patients/clients and the skilled professionals’ beliefs and expectations about hypnosis, influence the decision to use this procedure as well as its effects. On the other hand, in the Internet there is plenty of information about hypnosis, which shapes opinions of public and professionals. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the quality of the information disseminated by non-specialized online press. 334 articles (from 2011 to 2012) and 200 articles (from 2018-2019) written in Spanish and published online in non-specialized publications press have been analyzed. Results show that, although a high number of articles demystify hypnosis, many of them disseminate myths as well. The highest percentage of articles that demystify hypnosis is associated with the press topic “Science and Culture”. Results indicate that myths are broadly present in the popular culture and are maintained with the support of their ongoing dissemination in the newspapers online articles. This supports the importance of fostering the dissemination of scientific available evidence about applied and basic research on hypnosis.

The image of Chinese women in selected Polish interwar press in the 1930s Among the interests of the pre-war press, both mass and specialized, was China. Most of the space was devoted to the inhabitants of the Middle Kingdom: “Ivy” and mass magazines, associated with the Ilustrowany Kurier Codzienny [Illustrated Daily Courier], whose readers were also usually female citizens of the Second Polish Republic: As [Ace] and Na Szerokim Świecie [In the Broad World]”. In the Polish press, Chinese women were presented either as mysterious women of exotic beauty, who used to have mysterious souls, victims of the patriarchal system, or emancipated women fighting for their rights in political, professional and social life. Mass magazines often focused primarily on both the external appearance and spirituality of the Chinese. However, while the inhabitants of the Middle Kingdom were described as beautiful and elegant women, their character was usually portrayed in a negative light. It was emphasized that many of them served as not only charming, but well-educated courtesans. Both mass magazines and the women’s press were alarmed that the situation of Chinese women was very severe and was due to their low position in society. As a significant example, they gave the habit of foot binding. The women’s press, however, further emphasized that the situation of Chinese women gradually improved thanks to feminist movements. And among the most important representative women’s press mentioned Meling Sung. Both Bluszcz [Ivy] and Ziemianka Polska [Polish Lady Landowner] placed more emphasis on the professional emancipation of citizens of the Middle Kingdom than on their fight against other manifestations of gender discrimination.

The studies of the specialized military-political publications of the 1920s usually consider only approaches to organizing the political and educational work of commanders with personnel. Filling the gap, this article focuses on the media educational approach to the analysis of print media that examines the activities of newspapers and magazines as a kind of media platform for the training of regional workers and village correspondents (rabsel'cors), and military correspondents (voencors).The article reveals the main methods of training military correspondents by the specialized magazine “Education and upbringing”. Voencors were supposed to participate in creating a mass press, perform information functions and be propagandists, agitators, and organizers of the movement of military correspondents.Based on the analysis of the journal publications the author identifies the main approaches to rabsel'cors and voencors’ training: the introduction of special headings that attracted the Red Army soldiers to read periodicals and create wall newspapers; recommendations for establishing connections between military correspondents and village correspondents; publication of articles by the main authors of the journal on the organization of wall newspapers; analysis of military correspondents’ publications; responses to letters from readers.As a result, the author comes to the conclusion that the military-political magazine “Education and upbringing” should be considered not only as a means of ideologically educating the serviceman of a new type but as a necessary guide for novice correspondents of specialized and universal media.

In the last twenty years the computer has become the main means of access to highly specialized knowledge and also a protected way of transmission of information in the field of science, technics, literature and arts. The process started by the computerization of librarian catalogues as well by linking of big publishers onto database as PASCAL. Publishers of specialized journals, of press, professional associations and publishing houses made their publications accessible on the computer network, they listed and created their own archives and also made possible the access to research centres, scientific and research workers, publishers and interested readers. In this research work we tried to look up the dictionaries of terms in the field of tourism industry, in French, in the electronic form. Nowadays, the dictionaries of terms can be found in Internet and they are accessible to a wide range of users because they are easily and quickly obtainable. We made a research of various dictionaries of terms in the field of tourism industry in French and the most interesting ones were described.

Problem and Aim. The system of Russian higher education provides opportunities for master’s degree studies in one direction for bachelors with different formed professional competencies, therefore, the task of overcoming the competence imbalance, development and alignment of competencies among all undergraduates is urgent for a university teacher. The purpose of the article is to identify the role of project activities in the formation of professional competencies among undergraduate students studying in the direction of “Pedagogical Education (Media Education)”. Methodology. The conducted content analysis of final qualification works revealed the main types of media projects developed and implemented by undergraduates: media projects related to the work of press centers of educational institutions and institutions of additional education; media projects aimed at organizing and conducting creative competitions, media festivals, specialized shifts; Internet projects, the use of multimedia in the educational process; creation of films, videos, media texts. With the help of a questionnaire survey of graduates, a high level of formation among masters of professional competencies in the use of multimedia tools in educational and extracurricular activities was revealed. In conclusion, it is concluded that in the development and implementation of media projects, undergraduates develop the necessary professional competencies both in the field of journalism and in the field of media pedagogy.

Architecture criticism of Soviet Lithuania has not been properly addressed in scientific research. The novelty of the work relates to the branch of architecture criticism as part of the history of arts, particularly in the context of the historiography of 20th- century modern architecture. This paper is to uncover the various forms of architectural criticism and its agents among the vocational and scientific publications aimed at other architects of the Lithuanian SSR. Using a systematic approach and qualitative research methods, a database of 100 critical articles is constructed. The phenomena of architecture criticism are explored using the theoretical framework of W. Attoe from his book “Architecture and Critical Imagination” (1978). The results of the research brought several understandings. Despite the common belief among professionals that architects should be predominantly the creators of architecture criticism, architects by profession make up only half or less of the total number of texts in the specialized press. The dominating types of architectural criticism are normative and descriptive (excluding the texts that would describe the context of an architectural idea or particular building). There are very few examples of interpretative criticism encountered (except in the thematic group of criticism around interior design). Further discussion of prevalent thematic groups led to the conclusion that architectural criticism in Soviet Lithuania alongside the official “politically allowed criticism” has been using disguised forms of texts. There has been an underlying narrative to promote modernist or simply, new architecture principles using photography with little to no text, indirect speech, and other forms of non-explicit communication. One of the wider goals of this paper is to initiate wider research into the subject of architectural criticism of Soviet Lithuania and also validate the existence of the neglected phenomena using the specific material of professional and academic architectural publications.

The article describes the main typological characteristics of the specialized newspaper of the literary-publishing direction «Knyzhkova Teka». It was issued in Ukraine during 1994―1997s. The thematic and heading corpus of the newspaper, genre specifics, artistic and technical design, have been analyzed. In the context of research of the trade newspaper of book thematic the defining typological criteria were the audience orientation, as well as others: a nature of the impact (semantic characteristics ― the subject of presentation, or the scope of reflective reality, the nature of the presentation); authorship; the size of the readership (circulation), and so on. An attention is also focused upon a study of the problems of the literary and publishing process of that time, specifically its reflection on the pages of the analyzed media. A particular attention is paid to the review, specifically processing the issues of the newspaper «Knyzhkova Teka». The main typological characteristics are described: authorship, artistic and technical design, as well as thematic-heading content. The content analysis of information-analytical publications of the various types and genres is carried out. The newspaper is considered as an attempt of emerging trade medium in book journalism. It can serve as one of the examples of discursive practice of that time ― cultural journalism, book journalism. Such methods of research have been employed here: system, terminological analysis, contextual, communication, content analysis method, comparative, as well as a historical one. Periodical press as a historical source is actively used by researchers in various fields. Professional periodicals can be a key source of research. This article shows that the professional journal “ICOM News” can be considered a quality historical source for studying the development of cultural and educational activities of museums. The purpose of the article is to determine the main formats of work with visitors in museums in the 1940s - 1980s, identifying the stages and reasons for the modernization of these work formats with the museum audience based on the materials of “ICOM News”. The publications in this journal have a global geographical outreach and cover a specialized variety of museums, elucidating both the inner working of a museum as a historical and cultural unit and its evolving place within the broader societal mozaic. The publications in the journal were subjected to textual analysis based on the study of special texts as carriers of professional knowledge. In our case, these are articles devoted to various ways of interacting with the museum audience. Having studied the available data array, 367 articles were identified on the topic of interest to us, amounting to 4.2% of the total number of all publications in this journal. To sum up, we argue that the professional museum journal “ICOM News” is the full-fledged source for the study of museums globally and for the invaluable regional insights into cultural and educational activities of national museums. It goes without saying that this source works best in combination with other sources, including archival and museographic materials.

The purpose of this paper is to report about the impact of Ansbach University of Applied Sciences’ specialized mini campuses on their surrounding rural lower density regions by considering theoretical regional innovation models, spatial planning concepts as well as Ansbach University’s mission(s). The approach we use is pragmatic due to the author’s scientific publications and the author’s professional experience. For that, newer scientific publication to the key words mentioned below are used for an interdisciplinary line of sight, and press releases and internal data provided are qualitatively evaluated for this study’s practical part. Our study reveals that Ansbach University’s pragmatic local strategy of appropriately placing specialized mini campuses in rural outskirts has remarkable impact on the innovation processes in the lower density region over time. Our mini campuses follow a clear local Triple Helix (TH) innovation strategy by University-Industry-Municipality cooperations, meanwhile tending to focus also Quadruple and Quintuple Helix stakeholder groups. Besides showcasing local innovation processes triggered by our mini campuses the paper thematises rural-urban interaction scenarios due to the threat of shrinking peripheral areas in metropolitan regions. This case study supports policy makers and regional or local deciders by offering ingredients for the set up of local strategies. For universities in low-density areas the paper can be of value for counteracting a brain-drain to metropolitan centers, thus contributing to spatial equal life conditions by giving modern living, studying, researching, working and recreating an attractive local country-side accent.

Este fenómeno que ya comenzó hace años generó, entre otros impactos, que la gente incorpore conocimiento científico casi sin notarlo. Los medios masivos juegan un papel central, pero su labor ha estado en el centro del debate casi desde el inicio de este proceso en auge. Una de las discusiones tiene como protagonista a la figura del periodista científico —como profesional especializado—, su trabajo y su función. ¿Es su labor “traducir saberes” al servicio de los investigadores? Y a partir de esa cuestión, ¿debe tener un papel crítico o limitarse a presentar los hechos? En el debate seguramente no hay una única respuesta, pero este artículo presentará una mirada del tema desde la visión de la práctica periodística, en especial de la prensa escrita, para analizar la función, el objetivo y las complejidades del mundo del periodismo científico.Palabras clave: periodismo científico, periodismo especializado, información periodística, prensa escrita, traducción.Science was never disseminated through so many channels as today. This phenomenon, which began years ago, has caused people to integrate scientific knowledge almost without noticing it, among other effects. The media play a central role, but their work has been at the center of the debate nearly since the beginning of this burgeoning process. One of the protagonists of this discussion is the scientific journalist -as a specialized professional-, its work and function. Is this journalist's work to "translate knowledge" on behalf of researchers? Based on this, does this journalist have to play a critic's role or just present the facts? Surely, there is no one answer to this debate, but this article will offer a perspective on this subject from the vision of journalistic practice, especially that of press, to analyze the function, objective and complexities of the world of scientific journalism. Th e study „Sergei Cretu and neo-traditional music: the creative path in the Soviet period” sketches a brief portrait of the artist, highlighting the important biographical data on specialized studies, the context of professional evolution in the Soviet period of the 1960s-1980s, marked by the so-called „new wave of folklore”. Special emphasis is placed on the reflection of his activity as a dulcimer player, arranger and composer in the Popular Stage Orchestra and in the „Folclor” Orchestra of the Moldovan Republican Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. The main compartments and aesthetic directions in the his interpretive and compositional creation, the structure of the genres and styles, including the place, the sources and the social motivations of the works of Soviet ideological inspiration and instrumentalization are also highlighted. The study capitalizes on documents, data and information from the Archive of the „Teleradio-Moldova” Company, materials from the press of the time, audio and video sources as well as a series of concepts from modern specialty literature, able to promote the interpretation and analysis of cultural facts.

Urban planning in the interwar Lithuanian republic is still lacking a wider research. National school of the discipline was developing in difficult conditions, without most of the needed resources. A theoretical and critical basis was developing parallelly, which was in search of it’s own ideal model of urban planning. Article looks at the genesis of theoretical aspect of urban planning in the interwar specialized periodical press, reviews different periods of it’s development and tries to find the main problems it faced and the ideals it favored. Throughout the research the development of urban planning theory is split into four distinct chronological periods, that correlated with physical processes. The big break was the new generation of those interested in urban planning – the 30’s saw emergence of criticism of chaotic development processes that were taking place in Lithuanian cities and also the new ideas that were reminiscence of theoretical tendencies of contemporary Europe. A wider form of theoretical discourse has formed until the start of occupations, that could be seen as a rudimentary polemic field of national school of urban planning. The idea of garden city can be seen as a constant of the whole interwar period, which, while varied from author to author, nevertheless always included the main, simplified elements of the simplified concept.

Dancers, dance theorists, and dance historians have long confronted a double marginality—a life in dance is fragile not simply because dance is ephemeral, but its professional opportunities are scarce. Within the academy, dance is notoriously treated as a minor literature, and dance studies seldom enjoy influence outside their specialized readerships. These predicaments for dance studies can attach to more general concerns about contemporary culture. A consumer society is oriented to mass media with little value for interpersonal encounter that live performance offers. The body has been eclipsed by the machine, and the drive for speed has rendered audiences intolerant of dance's gestural nuance and impatient with its kinesthetic detail. Accordingly, the persistence of dance would seem almost perverse, a nostalgic longing for lost innocence that winds up being self-marginalizing. Against this narrative, one that can be found among dance scholars who favor more restrictive aesthetic conceptions of dance art within Western concert conventions, Felicia McCarren offers a counter-Edenic tale, one that locates dance as central to modernism's own origins, that offers a rethinking of the one-dimensionally woeful account of mechanization, and ultimately provides a reason for those outside of dance to adopt its conceptual efficacy.

El formato mixto define a Diario Médico: mantiene su compromiso por ofrecer información en papel, a pesar de haber reducido la periodicidad de diaria a semanal; reconduce a sus lectores en papel a Orbyt, quiosco de prensa digital del grupo promotor, Unidad Editorial, donde ofrece diariamente unas siete páginas en pdf con información para suscriptores; y está en la Red, con una edición que se abre a la participación del usuario. We did an exploratory-descriptive study about its origins and current situation, paying attention to its labour in paper, through the printed product, and in Red, through diariomedico.com. The techniques are the interview with its deputy director and the analysis of its products. The mixed format defines Diario Médico: it maintains its commitment to offer information on paper, despite having reduced the periodicity from daily to weekly; leads its paper readers to Orbyt, the digital press kiosk of the promoter group, Unidad Editorial, where it offers seven pages a day in pdf format with information for subscribers, and on the Web, with an edition that opens to the participation of the user. The informative tone of its contents and its usefulness for society, together with the growing interest of the non-specialized public in medicine and health, lead to Diario Médico, in our opinion, to have a double objective public: society in general and professionals of the System in particular.Keywords: Medicine; Health; Media; Press; Specialization.

This article discusses the implementation of a model of inclusive education in general education organizations and the construction of an educational route for students with disabilities. It is through the substantive and organizational sections of the adapted basic general education programmes that special conditions are created and observed to ensure that children with special needs and disabilities have equal access to quality education in general education organizations, taking into account the peculiarities of their psychophysical development and the recommendations of psychological, medical and pedagogical commissions. The main aim of the study is to systematize and improve the professional competencies in supervisors and teachers – members of the working groups on the development of adapted basic general education programs of educational organizations. In order to achieve the aim of this study, the following analytical methods have been employed: retrospective analysis of scientific literature, content analysis of periodical press and proceedings of scientific conferences on the subject; as well as practical methods (including own experience of working in the fields of specialized education and advanced training). In addition, BE of FVE “Chuvash Republican Institute of Education of the Ministry of Education of Chuvashia” proposed a program of advanced training “Organizational and Substantive Aspects of Inclusive Education,” based on legal, theoretical and methodological principles. The results of the conducted study show that supervisors and teachers – members of the working groups – are gaining significant practical knowledge of developing adapted basic general education programmes. It can be concluded that the planned results of the program suggest elimination of professional deficiency concerning the organizational and substantive issues of constructing an educational route for children with disabilities in conditions of inclusive education, as well as development of adapted basic general education programs of an educational organization.

The processes of development of mass media in the county city Kurgan, a large agricultural center of the Tobolsk province, in the late 19th — early 20th centuries are analyzed. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that for the first time in Russian historiography the system of mass media of the Kurgan district, which was known all over the world for its butter-making, is described. A brief description of the life of the city is given, typological and substantive features of periodicals are investigated. The main attention in the article is paid to the broadcast of events taking place in the county and the city by journalists. The novelty ofscientific work lies in identifying the directions of the formation of periodicals in the province. It is argued that in the province, the vector of development of newspapers and magazines is directed from specialized publications to mass ones. The history of interaction between publications created by professionals for professionals and mass-oriented newspapers and leaflets is traced. It is concluded that the materials of the regional periodicals allow expanding the source component on the history of the journalistic style in the Russian literary language and on the history of the economic growth of Russian provinces and counties in the pre-revolutionary period.

In a decade characterized in Argentina by electoral fraud and restrictions on political freedoms, in the province of Córdoba the most progressive radicalism repeatedly promoted educational reform based on secularism and the principles of the New School, which involved a substantial transformation of the educational system based on democratic pedagogy. The resistance by clericalism and the lack of consensus within the radical party itself thwarted this proposal, so it was decided to transform the cultural and professional training of teachers through the creation of the Provincial Superior Normal School. In this article we analyse what set this initiative in motion, as well as the profile of the officials who directed it and the type of teachers who sought to train under it. We show that this experience was a cultural and political commitment by the provincial government that sought to transform the primary schools of Córdoba under the principles of the Escolanovistas, through the formation of an advance guard of teachers and citizens imbued with the values of democracy, freedom and social commitment. Badly damaged by the coup d’état of 1943, this experience sought to transform not only education but also the provincial and national reality. To reconstruct these processes, we combined the reading of specialized references with analysis of diverse sources, in particular legislative debates, provincial press, memoirs and governmental dispositions.

During the training of highly qualified specialists of the "Business Communications and Translation" program, the course "Linguistic Studies (in German) is studied. In this course, teaching methods and tools are widely used to ensure perception and consolidation with the help of feedback and self-control and taking into account the individual capabilities of students of authentic material of a country science nature. The aforementioned discipline contributes to the formation of communicative and translation competence for effective communication, as well as adequate translation and mutual understanding. Thus, in classes, those methods and teaching tools are widely used, which provide an opportunity to improve students' communication skills in combination with grammar skills.
In our study, the methods and means of education are considered through the prism of training students – future translators. This makes it possible to prepare qualified and competitive translators for work on the world market of labour and services with appropriate interdisciplinary coordination of all cycles of humanitarian and specialized educational disciplines. It is a well-known fact, that perfect command of a foreign language involves not only the knowledge and ability of students to correctly use lexical units in combination with grammatical constructions at the level necessary for oral and written communication. In the educational process, students learn to perceive information of authentic content by ear and improve their reproduction skills. In practical classes, future specialists learn to model professional situations in German in order to prepare for foreign language professional communication, as well as when writing business letters, drawing up annotations, able to conduct dialog-conversation, presentation-advertising and presentation-report.
When training future translators, it is essential to evaluate the achievements of the culture of native speakers in German-speaking countries, to understand its essence, meaning and role for humanity. The fact of awareness of the importance of using information and computer technologies in order to improve professional activity is integral. It is also worth paying attention to the personal traits of the communicator - the future translator: features of the use of oratory, sociability, self-development skills and self-evaluation in certain professional and communicative situations. Such methods as "Brain-ring", press conference, round aquarium, simulation games, game design, trainings, creation of a situation of success, etc. contribute to this. The article is devoted to the definition of the functional role and importance of PR technologies in the marketing activities of tourist companies. It is revealed that in the tourism industry PR acts as an important component of the marketing system of a tourist company, namely as a tool for marketing communications, along with advertising, personal sales, sales promotion. It is revealed that PR technologies in the tourism business are used to inform potential consumers, popularize tourist services, to position and improve the image of tourist companies and destinations. Distinctive features of public relations in the tourism industry are the wide reach of the target audience, the variety of applied forms, long-term focus. Selected marketing tools used to solve PR problems in the tourism business are: work with the media (newsletter mailing, press conferences, interviews, briefings, information tours for journalists, media monitoring), special events for the presentation of tourist company, its products and services (exhibitions, fairs, seminars); company image advertising; sponsoring various events; charity; trainings, training courses for tourist companies. It is noted that participation in specialized exhibitions and fairs deserves the greatest attention among PR activities in order to present the tourist company and its services, establishing and maintaining business contacts and are one of the important PR-methods of promotion of tourist product in the market of tourist services. Authors provide the description of the leading international tourist exhibitions as well as tourist exhibitions held in Ukraine. The advantages and disadvantages of participation of Ukrainian tourist companies in specialized exhibitions and fairs are reviewed. It is noted that the impact of exhibition activity in the tourism industry has increased due to its mass character, significant number of contacts, various professional activities. It is proposed that all communication means used at the exhibitions by individual tourist companies should be selected in such a way so as to fully reflect its competitive advantages. When assessing the effectiveness of PR technologies in the tourism industry it is necessary to consider them in the context of a particular tourist company, taking into account its target audience and applied PR tools.

The main aim of the article is to explore the role of periodical scientific publications and their role in pedagogy. Successful state policy in the field of building an information-aware society in the Republic of Azerbaijan, adopted state programs and normative-legal documents make it necessary to solve the issues of reconstruction and development of scientific activity on the basis of modern information and communication technologies (ICT) within the framework of reforms in science. The application of ICT in scientific activities and issues of scientific management is implemented within the framework of electronic science as one of the priority directions of reforms in the field of science in the Republic. The construction and development of scientific activity in accordance with modern requirements, the improvement of scientific management, the formation of a national scientific and informational space, the creation of close ties between scientific organizations, collectives and scientists, the improvement of the efficiency of scientific management and research in all areas of science in the modern world due to the wide use of opportunities for ICT development at the level of standards and integration into the world scientific space are relevant issues nowadays. After the restoration of the state independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as a result of the gradual integration of academic librarians into the international scientific environment, new quality requirements appeared. The informational needs of specialists began to be met in three directions. Firstly, scientific-theoretical and experimental problems, published and presented in important scientific journal titled "Respublika" (Republic). Azerbaijani scientists participated more comprehensively and productively on this platform. Scientific innovations, innovative projects and analytical works of scientists were reflected on this platform. Additinally, the merits of professor A. A. Khalafov in compiling educational programs in the areas of library work, bibliography and bookkeeping, writing educational literature, presenting scientific articles in the scientific press, and, at the same time, in training specialists who meet new requirements were great. In the same year, Professor H.Ismailov, who for a long time was the dean of the Faculty of Libraries and Informatics of Baku State University, along with the training of professional specialists, founded the scientific and practical journal "Library and Bibliography" in 1997 and organized its activities, and for a long time he was the only Azerbaijan specialized scientific journal, distinguished by high professionalism. In 2010, Professor A. A. Khalafov founded the scientific and applied journal "Librarianship and Information", soon the first issue of the journal was published. The article is based on the method of comparative analysis. Application importance: the material can be used in lecturers and seminars in Higher Education Institutions.

This article discusses the gastronomic activity that took place in Spain between 1900 and 1936. It does so assuming that the modernisation process of Spain’s gastronomy transpired during these years, which is the same period recognised for when modernity emerged in other areas. This approach has been possible due to the discovery and analysis of unpublished testimonies of that time, mainly obtained from the general illustrated and specialised trade press as well as treatises written by cooks and writers of the period and the contemporary literature on the subject. These findings support the existence of factors such as the desire to have a national culinary identity, the creation of the first training centres, the emergence of professional associations and the abundant production of cookery books, treatises and culinary magazines. All these elements enable us to outline and contemplate the formation of the modern structure of gastronomic activity, but above all, they enrich part of its history and highlight the advisability of conducting research in a field that is so important for Spain; namely gastronomy.

The City was at its peak, the undisputed financial capital of the world. Its interests were the major determining influence on British economic policy. The Bank of England directors were selected, according to ancient tradition, from the City's most prestigious trading houses, including the merchant banks. Towards the end of the nineteenth century it had become obvious that banking was undergoing a radical transformation. A revolution in the structure of English banking had caused the near-disappearance of the old country banker; private family-owned banking firms were under severe pressure and many had been absorbed by the joint-stock banks. However, much had remained the same. It is one of the virtues of Cassis's book, which focuses on the top layer of City bankers, that it shows how much continuity there was. The old private banker fitted smoothly into the new, larger banks. The occupation of private banker, carried out within a family firm, continued to represent the ideal. Banking remained a not particularly onerous job. The typical City banker was a part-timer, who used his position and representation on the boards of other financial companies as a means of furthering his own business interests – he had to, because a board position alone did not pay enough to live like a gentleman. Banking was a respectable way of building up a fortune. The City's strength was its private information network of social and business relationships which made the highly specialized financial system possible but also created opportunities to make money privately. The author shows that the distribution of tasks within the City, as well as the reluctance of the big joint-stock banks to develop into continental-style investment banks, eminently suited the private interests of the board members, ‘as though the primary aim of the big deposit banks... was to make possible the activities of the private banking and trading firms and the overseas ventures of the partners of these firms’. What is now considered insider trading was an accepted form of business. There were few professional bank managers; those there were had generally risen through the ranks and had a lower social status. The City's playing field was never intended to be level and appears to have become even more slanted in the period before the First World War.

Introduction. In the early 1930s, the task of creating a new Ukrainian operetta arose on Ukrainian soil, however, the ways and conditions of its implementation in Eastern and Western Ukraine differed significantly (state system, ideology, professional and production opportunities, etc. played its role). In “UnderSoviet” Ukraine, composers were in a better financial position: there were stationary specialized theaters with professional performers, state support. However, they had to glorify the “happy Soviet life” (in the conditions of mass repressions and the Holodomor) — mainly due to mass song genres. In 1930s, the musical-theatrical creativity of Lviv composer, singer, and public figure V. Baltarovich: “Mefistiada” (1930–31), “Three Hearts in 2/4” (1930), “Frogging” (1932–34), “The Marriage in Two Apartments” (1933), “Chords” (1934) and “Sich’s adventure” (1939, author of the libretto G. Luzh¬nytsky), — had a great popularity, confirming the responses of the press of that time. However, V. Baltarovich’s emigration to Czechoslovakia after II World War led to the removal of his works from the repertoire and a ban on even mentioning his name. Therefore, the fourth volume of the academic “History of Ukrainian Music” (1992) was only about Soviet operetta. The first information about the operettas of Western Ukraine began to appear only with the beginning of Ukraine’s independence. As one knows, in the funds of V. Stefanyk’s LNSBU manuscripts of the musical comedies “Marriage in Two Apartments” and “Frogging” have been preserved since 2011. So, objectives: to introduce the named works into scientific circulation and to inscribe them in the context of Ukrainian operetta. The musical and theatrical heritage of V. Baltarovich (Ston) has been analyzed. His talent, education and musical activity at the head of the Bohemia theater studio made it possible to create outstanding works. His music was “fashionable”, easy to remember, with many salon dances (tango, waltz, foxtrot, rumba, etc.). The composer made extensive use of ensembles (duets, trios, sextet), and sometimes quoted classical music (F. Chopin’s Funeral March, Toreador’s couplets from opera “Carmen” G. Bizet etc.) in a parody key. Results and Discussion Conclusion. We proved that V. Baltarovich’s musical and theatrical works were predominantly comic in nature (sometimes with elements of satire). Built on models of the salon genres, they were designed to entertain the public (and successfully achieved that goal). With some textual editing of these musical comedies (first of all, “Marriage in Two Apartments” and “Frogging”), they deserve a musical and stage reconstruc-tion, that will enrich the national repertoire. The Internet environment offers more and more knowledge resources as well as more and more better portals and educational platforms, creating a variety of learning opportunities, vocational training and improvement. Network resources have now become an important space educational - and self-education - of young people. Research carried out by me in 2017 among students of the University of Wroclaw show that in the course of studying internet sources of knowledge (websites, educational portals) are used on a par with handbooks and other books recommended by lecturers. Some of the respondents attribute this to materials even higher value due to the more accessible language and frequent content update. This differentiates the results in relation to my findings from a few years ago whose respondents raised the issue of reliability and certainty of online knowledge. The network environment, offering a kind of convergence of earlier media, is today is a serious competition for television, the press or a book in a paper issue. Places these relays, however, have not been fulfilled, as one might think, of their electronic substitutes: e-newspapers, e-books or audiobooks. The most important source of scientific knowledge as well all popular information and news from the country and from the world remained popular websites and Internet portals. Also organized forms of training in the form of courses, on-line workshops or trainings are poorly disseminated in the studied student population. Only a few people have implemented language courses or specialized trainings this way. After graduation, however, they declare to undertake further education or further training online. The position of the respondents with regard to the virtual mode studies is clearly skeptical. The respondents question the value of such education in terms of both substantive, as well as in terms of acquired qualifications and competences (in the dimension professional as well as social). Virtual universities are not answered by respondents mentioned reasons - perceived as a real threat to traditional institutions educational. On-line training, seen today as an important supplement to traditional roads education, it seems, in their opinion, very forward-looking.

This study performed an exhaustive analysis of the context that has given rise to the related phenomena of tourism-phobia and touristification in the city of Barcelona. The Quintuple Helix innovation model developed by Carayannis, Barth, and Campbell is used as a model of open innovation to present a new perspective through which to counter the challenges of today's society. The Quintuple Helix supports the formation of a win-win situation between ecology, knowledge, and innovation, thereby creating synergies between economy, society, and democracy. The research also draws on the strategic city plan of Barcelona, articles in the specialized press, and reports presenting the opinions of a diverse range of professionals. The statistical data from official bodies and the answers to a questionnaire are validated through the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) model. The research analysis is a process of innovation that has not yet begun, thereby highlighting exciting questions about the potential role of the different actors involved. Our results support the idea that tourism-phobia in Barcelona remains uncontrolled and that a lack of understanding exists between the different actors. This leads to a fragile innovation process that is incapable of solving the social challenges posed by the tourism monoculture. The study offers a precise diagnosis of the actors' lack of control and cohesion and suggests that policymakers rethink how to manage the city together with tourism rather than focusing solely on tourist activities. Finally, we find that the current context of the Covid-19 pandemic perpetuates a model of unsustainable tourism-philia that will eventually feed back into tourism-phobia.

Extension and research professionals in the southeastern United States formed the Southern Nursery Integrated Pest Management working group (SNIPM) to foster collaboration and leverage resources, thereby enhancing extension programming, increasing opportunity, and expanding the delivery of specialized expertise to nursery crop growers across a region. Building a productive and lasting working group requires attracting a group of research and extension faculty with complementary expertise, listening to stakeholders, and translating stakeholder needs into grant priorities to help solve problems, all hallmarks of effective teamwork principles. SNIPM has now grown to include 10 U.S. states and 11 institutions and has been awarded seven grants totaling $190,994 since 2009. A striking benefit of working group membership was observed over time: synergy. Greater awareness of individual expertise among SNIPM members, each of whom were focused on different aspects of the nursery production system stimulated multistate extension publications, electronic books (eBooks), mobile device applications (apps), popular press articles, and spin-off research projects when separate foci were combined and directed toward complex challenges. Deliverables achieved from this faculty collaboration include nine peer-reviewed publications, four manuals and books and 23 book chapters, and a combined total of 11 abstracts, conference proceedings and extension publications. To date, the return on investment for SNIPM is one deliverable produced to every $2265.89 in grant funding. SNIPM has also been honored with multiple American Society for Horticultural Science publication awards as well as the Southern Region Integrated Pest Management Center Bright Idea Award for the quality and originality of their project outputs. Continuing to work together toward common goals that bridge technology and serve the nursery industry while supporting each individual member’s program will be crucial to the long-term success of this working group.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the impact of sources of information on trading behavior by analyzing the influence of investor personality in Chinese futures market. Design/methodology/approach The authors adopted the Big Five personality framework and examined the survey results of individual investors (n = 333) in Chinese futures market. Personality traits of futures investors were measured by the NEO-Five Factor Inventory (Costa and McCrae, 1989) which is a shortened version of revised NEO personality inventory of the Big Five model (Costa and McCrae, 1992). Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to assess the fitness of model. Structural equation modeling was used to evaluate the moderating influence of investor personality traits on the association between source of information and trading behavior. Findings The results confirm the previous findings that the sources of information used by investors as a foundation of their financial choices have a significant impact on trading frequency. The authors also provide an empirical evidence that investor personality traits moderate the relationship between sources of information and trading behavior. Financial advice from professionals is likely to increase trading frequency in investors with neuroticism and openness personality traits, and to reduce trading frequency in conscientious and extravert investors. Similarly, financial information acquired via word-of-mouth communication results in more trading in extravert and agreeable investors. Finally, information acquisition from specialized press causes more adjustment of conscientious investors’ portfolios. Theoretical explanations, implications and recommendations for future research are discussed. Originality/value This study combines information search and behavioral finance literature to demonstrate that the impact of various sources of market information on asset allocation decisions is influenced by investor personality. No previous study has been conducted yet to explain variations in the impact of sources of information on trading behavior by the Big Five personality traits and this paper seeks to fill this gap in Chinese futures market.

In order to achieve the goal of the research, the article plans to carry out the following research tasks: clarifying the essence of public control over the activities of judges in Ukraine, identifying its most effective forms and means.
As a result of the study, it was established that public control over the activities of judges is a legally defined activity of members of the public aimed at checking (observation, supervision) the legality of judicial proceedings by judges, taking into account the principles of taking into account public opinion in the formation of the judicial body, transparency and openness of the judicial process, accessibility of citizens to the judicial process, openness and accessibility to court decisions.
The most effective forms and means of public control over the activities of judges in Ukraine are singled out, namely: 1) implementation of public control at the stage of selection for the position of a judge, which includes monitoring of the judge's lifestyle, which is carried out in order to establish the conformity of the judge's standard of living with that available to him and members his family's property and the income they receive, the judge's lifestyle is monitored in accordance with the law, the declaration of a person applying for the position of a judge is checked; 2) the activities of the public integrity council, which is formed to assist the Higher Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in establishing the compliance of a judge (candidate for the post of judge) with the criteria of professional ethics and integrity for the purposes of qualification evaluation; 3) provision of public information about the court's activities based on the receipt of a request for information about the court's activities; 4) providing the public with public information about the activities of courts in Ukraine, by summarizing such information by analytical units of the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine; 5) granting access to accredited mass media to judicial proceedings on the basis of a court decision; 6) creation and implementation of effective activities in higher specialized courts and appellate courts of full-fledged press services; 7) creation of a contact center at the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, which should receive and summarize information from citizens regarding the quality of judicial proceedings, compliance by judges with integrity, violations by them and other participants of the principles of judicial proceedings and the judicial process; 8) ensuring the activity of the public council under the Council of Judges of Ukraine.

As its first issue was published in 1989, the Journal of Robotics and Mechatronics (JRM) has been in existence for 30 years. Its entrance into its fourth decade this year coincides with the change in the name of the Japanese era, marking a joyous milestone. During the three decades since the JRM was founded, much progress has been made in the areas covered by it, and these areas have expanded to encompass very diverse fields. It was around 1988, when I was at the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (RIKEN), that I received a letter from Kazuo Yamafuji, later the first Editor-in-Chief of the editorial board, stressing the need for a journal such as the JRM. I gladly joined the committee to discuss its publication, and after attending a few meetings, I witnessed its successful launch. I served as the Deputy Editorin- Chief of the editorial board. Prior to that time, robots had mainly inhabited the world of science fiction and were not recognized as a technological subject within an academic discipline, except in the field of factory automation. The robots that did exist were usually thought of in a recreational context. Meanwhile, the general trend in academic and engineering disciplines was toward specialization and segmentation, with engineering splitting into mechanical, electronic, and other branches, each becoming progressively isolated from the others. Yet, those working in areas related to product development and manufacturing were expected not only to have knowledge of several engineering disciplines but also to integrate them in applying them. These engineers/technicians were treated as unoriginal emulators existing outside of the conventional systematized and specialized fields, and they were regarded as heretics with no suitable field to represent in making presentations at professional or academic conferences. Even if they hoped to publicize their research findings, there were no professional/academic journals that could provide a proper peer review. It was under these circumstances that the word “mechatronics” was coined in Japan, where it gained currency and also came to earn some recognition in the English-speaking world. Founded at just the right time, the JRM contributed to the spread and growth of mechatronics. Subsequently, the term came to denote, in addition to its original meaning of the integration of mechanics, electronics, and information science, the fusion of widely diverse technologies in human sciences, social sciences, and medicine. In this context, it is my ardent hope that the JRM, in its fourth decade, will increase its presence as a journal that remains unconstrained by conventional specialties and accepts papers and articles that deal with as-yet-unestablished areas that cross multiple fields, contributing to their dissemination. At the time the JRM was founded, Keiji Hayashi was president of Fuji Technology Press Ltd., the organization that annually presents the JRM Best Paper Award. Unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 90 on March 19, 2017, before he could see the JRM’s 30th anniversary. Some time before he passed, he telephoned me to say that he hoped the JRM would continue to widely encompass and nurture as-yet-unknown areas. On this occasion of the 30th anniversary of the JRM, I wish to pay my respects and express my deep gratitude to Mr. Hayashi, who provided his own funds to support its publication. Why do we need to teach translation? Scholars keep asking this question and they are trying to givemethodical answers according to their point of view and perspective, such as: translation is an ancient practicethat cannot be neglected since it contributes to acknowledge and discover the other one, the dissemination ofknowledge, sciences, cultures and human civilizations in their entirety. Thus, teaching translation cannot escapethis complexity of objectives that are clear at first sight, but vague and lacking in precision. On the other hand,we are talking about teaching translation as a professional discipline or as a practice that is indispensable forthe dissemination of knowledge and skills, for communication in different linguistic universes, governed bythe universal diversity of intercultural channels. In the case of legal translation, we are dealing with botha professional and an institutional necessity, which has led to a great demand for professional translators in thelegal field. The legal text is part of the technical texts, but it is characterized by its terminology gathering boththe general language and the language purely used in the field of the law; a specific form for each of the varioustypes of texts; and finally, a context subjected to laws and regulations.

Abstract The relationship between specialized phrases and science is bidirectional: on the one hand, the professional lexicon is a reflection of science, being subject to permanent changes, on the other hand, concepts are a reflection of the evolution of human knowledge. The objective of our research is to study the process of formation of poly-lexical phrases - within the lexicon - and their transition into the specialized lexicon. Analysis, comparison, and descriptive-linguistic methods are some of the research methods used. The general conclusion that emerges is that the terminological phrase is a particularly productive process in the professional language.

Over the last decades, linguists have drawn special considerations to define specialized discourse. Basically, the complexity of describing specialized discourse lies in its multi-dimensional nature. The main purpose of this paper is to characterize specialized discourse in WIPO Domain Name Arbitration as the result of social and institutional conditionings. First, the study focuses on characterizing text-external factors associated with this highly-specialized professional practice. More in particular, the study focuses on the analysis of ‘Quality’ in WIPO Domain Name Arbitration decisions. Second, the study found useful to define the boundaries of ‘specialized discourse’ Third, the study limited the focus of attention on analyzing ‘Quality’ in relation to ‘Objectivity’ and ‘Neutrality’ as factors associated with specialized discourse and also to ‘Impartiality’ and ‘Independence’ as conditionings specifically related to WIPO domain name arbitration professional practice. Following Bhatia (Bhatia 2004) this study conceptualizes specialized discourse as a concept highly dependent on social and institutional conditions.

Results of a pedagogical experiment aimed at studying the impact of the used internet resources and specialized software on student’s performance are presented. It has been found that application of modern communication technologies and specialized software makes it possible to imitate various processes and phenomena when studying the Universe, making the process of teaching astronomy exiting, interesting, absorbing and increases the motivation to studies and knowledge acquisition.

The article discusses the necessity to apply specific methodological principles in FLT for professional purposes due to the increasing interest of learners towards such training. The focus is on the essence of the concept of specialized economic language and on the method of Task-Based Approach. The necessary strategies for its application are also mentioned. The development of the skill for active linguistic performance is promoted mainly by the implementation of minimally structured training situations (authenticity). The constructivist principle of creating polymodular conditions, including the personal experience of the learner so as to stimulate the solution of the given problem are mentioned. For this purpose the specialized content and its peculiarities together with its exact location in the vertical stratification of specialized language are emphasized. The process of working with specialized text and one of the descriptors of CEFR are discussed. When working, the principles of subject-specific aspects are taken into consideration, placing the importance on the quality of teaching materials instead of their quantity, and prioritizing the sistematicity and the orientation of the content over the form.

The article analyzes the problem of profile education in the modern education system and its role in the pre-profile training of students at the senior level of secondary school. The forms of profile training organization are considered. It is shown that the training of high school students in specialized classes promotes conscious professional choice based on holistic, complete and adequate ideas about the future profession, ideas about their own abilities and professional preferences, contributes to the successful building of an individual educational route. The respondents were senior pupils of specialized and non-specialized classes of secondary schools in the number of 115 people. The following methods were used: “the Questionnaire aimed at studying the ideas about the object of activity (E. I. Rogova), the test method of J. Golland to determine the type of professional orientation of the individual. Methods of mathematical and statistical processing. The results of empirical research of professional representations of senior pupils of educational organizations are presented.

O professor e jornalista negro José do Nascimento Moraes destacou-se escrevendo crônicas, contos e poesias nos principais jornais maranhenses da primeira metade do século XX. Era um defensor da promoção da escolarização para os pobres e constantemente debatia os problemas poláticos, sociais e educacionais maranhenses. Foi o inspirador da criação das ”escolas dos pés descalços”. Essa escola era destinada a crianças extremamente pobres que poderiam frequentar as aulas com qualquer roupa e até descalças. Nascimento Moraes deve ser caracterizado como um intelectual da educação, já que na sua trajetória profissional deixou vasta contribuição sobre temáticas relativas ao campo. Por muitas vezes, fez uso do espaço da imprensa para denunciar a precariedade da instrução pública maranhense e divulgar ideias pedagógicas, dando ênfase, principalmente, á defesa da educação popular. Ele defendia o rompimento com a sociedade organizada por castas sociais, especializada em distribuir os melhores espaços sociais aos membros das elites econômicas.Palavras-chave: Professor negro. He was a champion of the promotion of schooling for the poor and constantly debated the political, social and educational problems of Maranhão. He was the inspiration behind the creation of "barefoot schools". This school was intended for extremely poor children who could attend classes in any outfit and even barefoot. Nascimento Moraes must be characterized as an intellectual of education, since in his professional trajectory he left a vast contribution on themes related to the field. For many times he made use of the press space to denounce the precariousness of public education in Maranhão and to disseminate pedagogical ideas, emphasizing, mainly, the defense of popular education. The publication reflects the results of a study of self-assessment of the level of professional competencies in the field of emergency medical care among persons who have passed the primary specialized accreditation on the basis of Kursk State Medical University. Self-assessment was carried out, among other things, among specialists who completed a simulation course aimed at improving professional competencies in providing medical care in emergency and emergency forms as part of the implementation of additional professional retraining programs.
