Анотація:

The present study investigated a link between plan continuation errors and plan monitoring. Pilots were asked to execute a flight plan that traversed through hazardous airspace and then monitor the success of the plan by seeking and detecting changes in the airspace that could affect the safety of the plan. Following change detection, pilots had the opportunity to revise these plans. In nearly one-third of trials, pilots failed to revise flight plans, thereby committing a plan continuation error, and were more likely to do so when plan monitoring was inadequate. Overall, more than half of changes went undetected, though detection response times were improved when changes were relevant to the flight planning task or when traffic aircraft were changed rather than weather systems. Findings imply that plan monitoring is less than perfect, which may be a substantial contributing factor to plan continuation errors.

Анотація:

As a new type of question under the background of the new college entrance examination, continuation writing requires the writer to continue the article based on the context provided in the previous text, supplemented by the situational context of the article, and ensuring the logical coherence of the content. Discourse cohesion theory focuses on the coherence of grammar and vocabulary in discourse organization, aiming to construct a complete and coherent discourse text. The cohesive means under this theory can help writers to produce a well-structured, logically clear, and coherent article to a certain extent. Starting from the concept and existing problems of continuation writing, this article analyzes and explores the points of convergence between discourse cohesion theory and continuation writing, and proposes several teaching strategies to better guide writing teaching and improve students' writing ability. From the perspective of discourse cohesion theory, teachers can guide students to select appropriate referencing methods, plan the overall layout, pay attention to smooth connections, maintain logical clarity, and skillfully use substitution and ellipsis to refine language, making the writing process more efficient.

Following a recent curriculum assessment effort involving faculty, students, and industry representatives, the Dept. of Horticulture at Penn State developed a strategic action plan for future growth and evolution of its landscape contracting program. Highlights of the plan include: establishment of a landscape management option with emphasis on weed, pest, and disease management, plant establishment and plant maintenance; refinement of an internship program; continuation of collaborative and experiential learning opportunities; and development of a course that addresses current issues in the landscape profession. Additional actions resulting from the assessment process range from the addition of a Spanish course to support for the establishment of a campus arboretum.

Abstract The paper is the continuation of the previous one entitled “Material factors in relation to development time in liquid-penetrant inspection. Part 1. Material factors” in which the material factors influencing essentially the development time in penetrant testing have been marked out. These are: type of material, surface roughness and imperfection width. In the paper it has been described how to prepare the factorial plan which will enable to test every factor with taking into account its different values. Moreover, it has been presented investigations on natural cracks, their width and roughness profile what will allow to assign suitable values of independent variables to the factorial plan. The purpose of the plan prepared in such a way will be the determination of the influence of the material kind, surface roughness and discontinuity width on the development time in penetrant testing.

Анотація:

The purpose of this work is to analyze a performing model of process management in a state of emergency in the airport sector. This work reveals the Torino airport model for crisis management realized to ensure the continuation of activities during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The case study has been analyzed by means of the innumerable measures carried out and included in the operational continuity plan (OCP) of Torino airport (ital. Aeroporto di Torino-Caselle) in Turin, a specific plan aimed to satisfy the exigencies of passengers, the commercial relationship with sub-dealers and commercial partners as well as all the human resources working in the airport during the pandemic spread. The analysis focused on internal documents, reports sent to Airports Council International Europe (ACI EUROPE) to compete in the international competition, and public economic and financial reports as well. The findings help to demonstrate not only the model adopted but also the perfect interaction between all the involved corporate sections of the Torino Airport aimed at a main objective: the continuation of activities as well as the safety and satisfaction of stakeholders. For its theoretical and practical evidence, the paper expresses both scholarly and professional relevance.

AbstractObjective:This study aimed to compare management, readmission rates and length of in-patient stay amongst warfarinised and non-warfarinised patients to ascertain future treatment protocols.Methods:A 12-month retrospective review was conducted of ENT epistaxis admissions. Admission details such as length of in-patient stay, clotting profile and management plan were recorded. Comparisons of management and outcome for warfarinised and non-warfarinised patients were made using the Fisher's exact paired t-test.Results:Of 176 epistaxis patients admitted, 31 per cent were warfarinised, 18 per cent were on another form of anticoagulation or antiplatelet therapy, and 51 per cent were not on any medication that might impose a bleeding risk. The international normalised ratio at admission was high in 13 per cent of warfarinised patients; the remaining patients had therapeutic or sub-therapeutic international normalised ratios and so warfarin was continued. The mean in-patient stay was similar for all cohorts; however, warfarinised patients had a higher readmission rate.Conclusion:Warfarinised epistaxis patients may be safely managed without stopping their anticoagulation therapy, provided their international normalised ratio is at therapeutic or sub-therapeutic levels. By continuing regular anticoagulation therapy, warfarinised patients may be discharged without delay.

In this article, the authors discuss how business continuity methodologies can be used by data centers to respond to natural disasters, man-made disasters, and accidents. Because organizations depend on computing services, which may become unavailable when disasters strike, prudent risk management processes can provide for continuation and recovery of operations. With a focus on data centers, this article discusses the business continuity plan development process. This article also considers elements of a business continuity management plan, which includes strategy development, preparedness, mitigation, exercises, and response and recovery, and discuss business continuity strategies for colocation and cloud-based data center architectures. Finally, the authors discuss how the ordered weighted average (OWA) methodology can be used to incorporate a decision makers risk profile when confronted with decisions related to the processes discussed.

Background: Patients with chronic diseases are particularly affected by prescription copayment increases, as they are faced with the decision to switch to formulary alternatives or pay more to stay on their current medication. Objective: To evaluate the impact of increased copayments as a result of a change in formulary status on the continuation rates of nonformulary medications in multitiered pharmacy benefit plans. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on patients with chronic diseases who were part of a health plan in the western US. Individuals were selected if they were taking a medication that was being removed from the health plan's formulary and, thus, experienced increases in their copayments for nonformulary medications (n = 1,244). The time periods before and after the increase in copayments were studied. Adjusting for demographics, chronic comorbidities, medication use, Medicare + Choice status, and percentage increase in copayment for nonformulary medications, Cox regressions were used to assess continuation rates for these drugs. Results: A clear relationship between increasing copayment differentials and continuation rates for nonformulary medications in the period after the copayment increases could not be established. In general, those who experienced higher copayment differentials (50–100%, 100–200%, >200%) were more likely to continue their nonformulary medication than were those who experienced copayment increases of 25–50% and >25%. Conclusions: Individuals confronted with increased copayments often switched their drugs to formulary alternatives. However, a clear relationship could not be established between increasing copayments and continuation behavior. Further research is needed to determine whether these switching behaviors result in inappropriate medication behaviors, such as complete discontinuation of drug therapy due to the increased costs.

Student learning within the Operating Room (OR) is complex and challenging, especially for medical students who heavily rely upon structured learning plans. Medical students’ OR-based surgical learning experience is heterogenous, unstandardized, and inadequate for many reasons. There is a growing need to evaluate the learning modalities and models that we currently use for medical graduates’ OR-based learning process, create a balance between structured and opportunistic learning encounters and incorporate previously identified factors that have been known to influence the quality of OR-based learning positively. In continuation with our previous work on OR-based learning, here we argue for a structured OR-based learning plan that embodies appropriate learning models and teaching methodologies and focuses on a comprehensive plan that justifies a local needs analysis and addresses factors influencing the quality of OR-based student learning to produce enhanced learning outcomes.

The Sioux Falls Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) treats primary and secondary sludges in three primary anaerobic digesters and one secondary digester. Treated sludge is stored in lagoons until disposal by land application. Continuation of the land application process will require significant investment. The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate alternative biosolids handling and disposal methods. The study includes a forecast of biosolids production rates due to growth and future nutrient removal treatment processes. The study also addresses processing and storage options, and establishes a 20-year biosolids management plan.

The eutrophication of the Baltic Sea is a longstanding environmental issue which is caused by excessive nutrient input including phosphorus0. In response, neighbouring states of the Baltic Sea adopted the Helsinki Convention and the updated Baltic Sea Action Plan. The Helsinki Convention aims at the ecological restoration of the Baltic Sea. The updated Baltic Sea Action Plan summarises actions to achieve a good environmental status of the Baltic Sea. It lists the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU as supporting legislation. Against this backdrop, this article aims to assess the extent to which the measures of the Common Agricultural Policy in Germany (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) implement the agriculture actions of the updated Baltic Sea Action Plan and thereby contribute to the objective of the Helsinki Convention. To this end, a qualitative governance analysis is applied. Results show that the Common Agricultural Policy addresses most agriculture actions of the updated Baltic Sea Action Plan. Agri-environment climate commitments in particular have the potential to reduce phosphorus input into the Baltic Sea. However, their potential will likely be offset by (1) unclear uptake due to voluntariness, (2) limited funding and (3) continuation instead of real reform of the Common Agricultural Policy. These shortcomings are supplemented by weak actions of the updated Baltic Sea Action Plan. Therefore, other effective policy instruments at the EU level are needed.

In a typical seismic experiment (land or marine), the generated source wavelet is either unknown, or known only approximately. In order to solve many geophysical problems, an accurate wavelet estimation is crucial. This paper demonstrates a fast numerical algorithm which allows not only estimating the source wavelet but also its angular spectrum (radiation pattern) from plane‐wave decomposed seismograms. Surprisingly, literature on this subject is virtually missing, although a nonuniform angular spectrum of the generated wavelet can substantially affect the recorded data. The technique presented here is based on the downward continuation (DC) and reverse‐time extrapolation (RTE) of the recorded data (both pressure and its vertical derivative). The proposed method is iterative: The rate of convergence does not depend on phase characteristics of the generated wavelet. We demonstrate that both the wavelet signature and its angular spectrum can be estimated accurately from plane‐wave seismograms. We also illustrate the technique on a variety of wavelets with different amplitude/phase characteristics.

Анотація:

Predictive maintenance predicts failures and determines the equipment's remaining useful life, which provides maintenance time to plan their interventions, preventing breakdowns or reducing their impact. This paper presents a software application, implemented in a web platform, to support the implementation of a predictive maintenance plan. The developed system currently monitors certain parameters of a plastic injection molding machine. Furthermore, this system has real-time alerts that notify the maintenance team when the measured temperatures are outside the defined limits. Some extras were added, such as the report page, which calculates, automatically, performance indicators, the access management page, and a page that permits the realization of autonomous maintenance interventions, the verification of its fulfilment, and the visualization of the performed interventions' results. After the system's implementation, it was tested in real operating conditions. Following the test time, it was concluded that the desired parameters were measured correctly, which supported the work's continuation.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to identify arrangements of fully funded defined contribution (FF-DC) pension plans associated with the continuity of retirement savings.Design/methodology/approachThe authors adopted an experimental design composed of a control group and two treatment groups. In all groups, individuals made decisions throughout nine periods: five during the working period and four at the postretirement stage. The authors asked participants if they wanted to join a pension plan, and which plan. The authors offered three plans with different risk profiles: plan 1 (high risk), plan 2 (moderate) and plan 3 (low risk) and one risk-free plan, plan 4. In treatment groups 1 and 2, there was an automatic enrollment of the participants in the default plan (moderate risk), and in the following periods they had to decide whether to continue contributing, and in this case, to which plan, with a defined percentage.FindingsIn treatment scenarios, participants chose the riskiest plan in all periods of the experiment, and most of them chose the risk-free plan in period 5. These findings suggest that pension plans with automatic enrollment, employer matching and low risk foster the continuation of retirement savings.Research limitations/implicationsThe research has as limitation the fact that the sample is not representative of the population and therefore does not allow generalizations. This is because the authors use social media ads to prospect respondents.Practical implicationsThe research's findings can be relevant for the design of public policies for private pension plans, suggesting that compulsory automatic enrollment can be used as default in plans offered by the employers. The results encourage the inclusion of behavioral elements in the design of the pension system, paying attention to the nudges. In this sense, it is possible to increase participation in the pension plan and develop low cost programs to increase the amount accumulated by people before retirement.Social implicationsDecision-making architecture, such as automatic enrollment, can improve individuals' retirement decisions, affecting savings and welfare in the long run.Originality/valueAlthough the effect of pension plan designs is widely studied in other countries, such as the United States and United Kingdom, the authors are unaware of a national empirical research that seeks to understand how different arrangements affect an individual choice through an experiment.

Instead, dates such as the Day of Unity of Ukraine, the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Holodomor and political repressions (not to mention other, no less important memorable dates) are, to put it mildly, unpopular to the authorities.

Galactic H2O masers are associated either with the circumstellar shells of late-type stars or with star-forming regions (SFRs). Previous surveys for H2O masers had revealed relatively few near the Galactic Center (GC). We report on the continuation of a survey using the VLA to make 22.2 GHz observations of IRAS point sources which lie within 2° of the GC and which have either 12 μm or 25 μm flux > 8 Jy. Taylor, Morris and Schulman (TMS, 1992, AJ, 106, 1978) previously observed 97 of 342 candidate sources. We have observed 160 more and plan to complete the survey in early 1995.

In 2023 the Lower Volga Paleolithic detachment of the IAET SB RAS as part of a Lower Volga Expedition organized by the IHMC RAS continued the study of the Middle Paleolithic site Sukhaya Mechetka located on the northern outskirts of Volgograd, and also carried out exploration work at the Middle Paleolithic sites Chelyuskinets II and Zaikino Pepelishche, located in the Pichuga gully, Dubovskiy district, Volgograd region. The results of the work in 2023 make it possible to plan the continuation of comprehensive studies of the cultural layer of the Sukhaya Mechetka site and to resume the study of the Middle Paleolithic site Chelyuskinets II.

ABSTRACT The majority of Australian farms are ‘family farms’, that is, those that are owned and operated by members of a nuclear or extended family. An important key to the continuation of family farming is the smooth succession by subsequent generations. Increasingly, financial planners are becoming involved in succession issues including those involving farming families. We examine the current status of succession planning in Australian farming through a survey of farming family members. While the majority of survey respondents considered that maintaining family harmony was their first priority, a significant proportion have no succession plan. Importantly for financial advisors, employing professionals with appropriate skills in estate planning is rarely done.

This article examines the initiatives of The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Japan through the cooperation of Government to Government (G2G) and the Special ASEAN Summit to combat the pandemic collectively. The initial cooperation through the coordinated “Integrated Recovery Plan” has been very significant for the future of ASEAN and the resilience of a post-COVID-19 world by way of maintaining market stability in order to avoid the potential risk of economic recessions and public health emergencies. This synergism is seen as one of the best mechanisms to help ASEAN in ensuring socio-economic activities are restored and the welfare of about 600 million people is addressed. This research found that ASEAN Plus Three (APT) cooperation should formulate a Regional Recovery Plan and emphasize that the continuity of the supply chain should be maintained to ensure a smooth flow of food and medical supplies. Secondly, APT cooperation needs to be committed to the continuation of opening up markets, maintaining normal trade, services and investment flow in order to continue strengthening regional economic resilience. Thirdly, APT needs to formulate a plan that focuses not only on financial aspects (post-COVID-19 economic recovery) but also on social security networks, food security and education.

e18322 Background: Though patients (pts) with gynecological cancer are at higher risk of MBO, clinical management is not well defined. We implemented a coordinated team approach to evaluate MBO at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre inter-professional MBO management program includes nurse led ambulatory symptom management, inpatient treatment algorithm, patient directed bowel management education & MCCs. This study evaluates the utility of MBO MCC on clinical decision making in gynecologic oncology. Methods: Monthly MBO MCCs are conducted to discuss complex clinical management issues. A clinical summary is presented prior to the discussion with each case incorporating radiology review followed by interdisciplinary discussion. In this study, the initial management plan was compared to post-MCC consensus. A change in plan was defined as a consensus plan different from the pre-MCC plan or no definite plan prior to MCC. Barriers to implementation of the consensus were analyzed. Results: From December 2016 to November 2018, 90 pts were discussed in 22 MCCs. Of these, 60 had high grade serous ovarian carcinoma (67%) & 64 had small bowel obstruction (71%). Discussion in MCCs lead to a change in management plan in 49 cases(54%). These changes included recommendations for palliative surgery (25%) or radiation (10%), interventional radiology (23%), pharmacologic management alone (14%), imaging studies (4%) & total parenteral nutrition (TPN) (4%). Chemotherapy continuation, break or regimen changes were recommended in 20%. MCC consensus plan could not be implemented in 11 cases (23%). The barriers were refusal of surgery (8%), interventional radiology procedures (2%), TPN (4%) by patients, functional decline (6%) & inability to create a colostomy due to dense adhesions (2%). During MCC referrals to the dietitian & palliative care team were planned for 16 (18%) & 22 (24%) pts respectively. Conclusions: Interdisciplinary MBO MCCs have a significant impact on decision making in complex MBO cases. Radiology review & group discussion facilitates greater clarity in formulation of a management plan.

Indonesia faces the risks of volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, floods and tsunamis, which destruct its land areas and also result in damage to client and server computer systems. The demand for the information technology availability and performance becomes high. Disaster recovery plan is designed to ensure the vital business processes continuation in the event a disaster occurs. The problem is how to make the best way in selecting backup recovery strategy based on the benefits to the cost ratio so as to minimize the business losses that will be caused by the failure of an application system. This research aims to make decisions that can help make certain parties take the best decision in choosing the backup recovery strategy for a business continuity plan in the Trilogy University. The research method used is the multi-criteria decision-making and analytical hierarchy process by using the expert choice software. From the research results can be concluded that the first order in backup strategy is hot standby option 59,4%, followed by cold standby option 23,3%, then the choice of warm standby option 17,4%. The data inconsistency rate is 0.02, smaller than 0.1 as the maximum value of inconsistency ratio.

Background: There are many Medicare Part D plans, making it difficult for patients to choose the optimal plan. The decision to remain on current Medicare plans is reinforced by patient inertia and uncertainty associated with plan-switching decisions. By helping patients identify more cost-effective plans, pharmacists and pharmacy personnel have the ability to inform plan-switching decisions resulting in lower out-of-pocket (OOP) costs. Objectives: This study evaluates 1) patient experience with a pharmacy Medicare Part D consultation service and 2) potential out-of-pocket savings based on a patient’s best plan for 2019 compared to continuation of a patient’s 2018 Medicare Part D plan. Methods: This study was a retrospective descriptive analysis and took place at a single, independently owned community pharmacy. Patients received free individual consultations with a pharmacist that included a medication review and information on all available Part D plans. Patients were selected to receive the service using pharmacy software to identify potential inefficiencies in current Part D plans. Data on satisfaction and perceived pharmacist role in providing Medicare Part D information were collected via an in-person survey administered at the pharmacy. Potential out-of-pocket cost savings were determined using cost information provided for patient specific medication regimens entered into Medicare.gov, the online platform for Medicare Part D plan information. Results: Of the 318 patients identified, 79 used the consultation service. Out of 79 patients who used the service in fall of 2017, 44 completed the survey for a response rate of 56%. Patients generally reported good experiences with the service. Open-ended responses revealed patients utilize a variety of helpers for plan information and decisions. A subset of 14 patients were identified as having clear plan-switching decisions and were included in the cost-savings analysis. Conclusions: Patients using a free Medicare Part D plan consultation were satisfied with the service, suggesting that helpers were an important resource n their plan-selection process. Using the pharmacist-led Part D consultation may result in decreases in out-of-pocket cost savings due to identification of optimal Medicare Part D plans. Article Type: Note

Анотація:

This paper studies the Xi’an City Wall (XCW) as a sustainable historical heritage. Based on the conservation process of XCW, the study is focused on four experiences that drive its sustainable development. First, the opening of gates through XCW helped to maximize its preservation while meeting the needs for urban transportation. Second, transforming XCW into an urban public space facilitated the gradual building of its camp into a city-dominated landscape. Furthermore, integrating social activities into the public space carried by XCW brought people closer to the heritage. Moreover, the use of XCW as the benchmark for the modern Xi’an urban space pattern ensured the continuation of its historical coordinates on the basis. In order to maintain the sustainability of XCW, a future sustainable development plan is put forward according to the Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) approach proposed by UNESCO. This plan has a generalization guiding significance for the future policy formulation of XCW. Findings from this study serve as a reference for the planning and conservation of historical heritage in cities.

Анотація:

Economic viability of small farms and farming businesses depends on multiple factors. These farms have limited production and financial resources to maintain their operation. Therefore, to sustain farming, adopting appropriate risk management strategies is a pivotal decision for small farmers. We surveyed Tennessee’s small farms and utilized multivariate probit models to study factors influencing the adoption of various risk management strategies. Our findings suggest that the decisions related to the adoption of risk management strategies are significantly interlinked. Along with factors representing the operator’s age, education, and farm operator’s income and land holdings, we also found that the government incentives (payments), smartphones, and farmers’ continuation plan significantly influence the strategic decisions of adopting risk management strategies.

Treatment of crown root fracture is complex and requires an accurate diagnostic and treatment plan. The purpose of this article is to report a case of a maxillary central incisor with a crown-root fracture with pulp exposure treated and rehabilitated with the preservation of pulp vitality using a micro-pulpotomy and pre-mixed bioactive endodontic cements followed by zirconia restauration, a bioinert ceramic material, milled using CAD/CAM technology. The preservation of pulp vitality using premixed bioceramic materials, ensures the continuation of dentinogenesis with its benefits, higher resistance of radicular walls against fracture, smaller diameter of apical foramen as well as creating conditions over time for a post retained crown with better aesthetic results.

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is a Level 3, post-16 UK qualification that students usually take alongside A Levels, prior to entering university or the labour market. It plays an important role in improving access to, and success at university. The University of Southampton's Learn with US Transition Programme has developed support particularly for students undertaking the EPQ, who are underrepresented at university. This programme responds to the Office for Students′ (OfS) requirement to develop and submit an Access and Participation Plan (APP). The EPQ challenges the lack of aspiration and deficit discourses that are especially damaging to students from underrepresented backgrounds. Students who complete the EPQ are shown to perform better in terms of Key Stage 5 attainment and at degree level due to developing key academic and research skills prior to enrolment. The Learn with US team is exploring links between EPQ attainment and other institutional goals, such as addressing degree awarding gaps for under-represented students. The University of Southampton takes a whole-institution, lifecycle approach to removing barriers for underrepresented students, and the Learn with US Transition Programme is a key element of our provision that is proven to have positive outcomes for students transitioning into university, especially for those students who are already impacted by structural disadvantage.

The State of Louisiana (LA) Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) conducts extensive analytical modeling and project evaluations across an expansive coastal region along the Gulf of Mexico as part of updates to the Stateâ€™s Comprehensive Master Plan for a Sustainable Coast (CMP) on 5-year recurring intervals. The 2017 CMP includes a combination of 45 risk reduction and 79 coastal restoration projects with projected construction and implementation over a 50-year period through 2065 at a projected cost of $50 billion dollars. Risk reduction includes 13 structural and 32 non-structural projects. Structural risk reduction projects consist of continuation of new construction and maintenance of an extensive system of earthen levees, flood walls, flood gates, and pump stations. Non-structural projects consist of a combination of acquisition, elevating, and flood-proofing of residential and commercial structures within projected coastal storm flood risk areas. The Lake Pontchartrain Barrier structural risk reduction project has projected one of the highest cost-effectiveness (CE) values of all CMP projects. This paper will focus on hydrodynamic and risk reduction modeling performed to evaluate a series of conceptual design alternatives for the Lake Pontchartrain Barrier (LPB).

Chemotherapy of advanced colorectal cancer improved significantly patients? survival in last two decades. Continuum of treatment means that patient should receive all valuable drugs active in metastatic colorectal patients, during the treatment course, but detailed treatment plan should be made taking into account patient and tumour characteristics, and drug availability. Several treatment strategies should provide patients with optimal balance between efficacy and treatment toxicity. Decision about stopping systemic chemotherapy, after tumour progression or unacceptable toxicity, and transition to palliative treatment is not an easy task for doctor and requires a really good communication with patient. Continuation of systemic treatment in very advanced disease, in pre-terminal patients, may adversely affect patient?s overall quality of life, and very rarely has a positive impact on length of survival.

Анотація:

The article presents examples of Byzantine church architecture, mostly in the towns of Dalmatia. After a short review of the Byzantine influence in the ecclesiastic architecture of the 6th century, the author shows its continuation during the early Middle Ages when the territory under Byzantine political authority was reduced to the coastal towns and northern Adriatic islands. Besides the famous rotunda of St. Donatus in Zadar, of the Byzantine influence in the medieval architecture speaks especially the cross in square church plan, which was accepted in several towns of Byzantine Dalmatia. The cross in square churches in Kotor and Dubrovnik were built in close connection with political and religious relationships with Byzantium, so the architecture can be seen in a broader historical frames.

Анотація:

This paper is targeted at the policies and adjustments of the United States against the nuclear program of Iran during the administration of Donald Trump and Joe Biden and attempts to analyze the reasons and motivations. After the Trump administration took office, the United States unilaterally withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and implemented an all-round suppression of Iran. On the contrary, President Biden has shown a strong willingness to rejoin the deal and released goodwill to Iran frequently. Bidens policy seems to be significantly different from that of Trump, but it does not deviate from the framework of the Trump administration. This paper explores the foreign policies of the two governments towards Iran through three levels of analysis and uses cognitive psychology to analyze the influence of Trump's personal factors on his policies. It concludes that Trump's policies on Iran nuclear issue during his administration are mainly affected by his political personality and national security environment, while Biden's strategic adjustment to the foreign policy is more influenced by political pressure at home and abroad besides national security.

Анотація:

This article is a continuation of the interpretation of F.M. Dostoevsky’s novel “Crime and Punishment”. A detailed analysis of the central episode of the novel, Raskolnikov's visit to Sonya Marmeladova, Is here offered, and, as a result, many hidden allusions to the story of Jesus Christ are revealed. Attention is drawn to the dual meaning of Raskolnikov's statements about the need to gain power over the world: this is either material power, based on the laws of the evil world (in imitation of Napoleon), or spiritual power, canceling the laws of the world (in imitation of Christ), which includes serving people and accepting suffering for everyone. It is proved that all the mysterious and incomprehensible details of the narration receive a natural explanation when the Gnostic myth of the salvation of the world through the love union (sizigiya) of Jesus Christ and Sophia is put at the basis of the symbolic plan of the novel. This connection takes place in the epilogue of the novel, where the symbolic plan completely prevails over the realistic, which allows to explain the change in the style of the narrative, which was paid attention to by many researchers.

Under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 and Federal Emergency Management Agency's subsequent Interim Final Rule, the requirement was placed on local governments to author and gain approval for a Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) for the areas under their jurisdiction. Low completion percentages for HMPs—less than one-third of eligible governments— were found by an analysis conducted 3 years after the final deadline for the aforementioned legislation took place. Follow-up studies showed little improvement at 5 and 8 years after the deadline. Based on these results, a previous study hypothesized that the cost of creating a HMP might be an influential factor in explaining why most jurisdictions had failed to write or gain approval for a HMP. The frequency of natural hazards experienced by the planning jurisdiction, the number of jurisdictions participating in the plan, and the population and population density were found to explain more than half of the variation in HMP costs. This study is a continuation of that effort, finding that there are significant differences in cost both across ranges of values for the jurisdictional attributes and single-jurisdictional versus multijurisdictional plans.
