Design and evaluation of bulletproof vests require the use of experimental ballistic tests. These tests allow to visualize, in a real-life situation, ballistic performances of a body armor namely potential perforation of the protection and deflection of the rear face which could lead to trauma injuries. Experimental investigations are usually complemented by numerical simulation studies which allow the examination of numerous and complex configurations (material types, thicknesses, ordering, ammunition types, etc.) and offer a salient tool for optimization of protective structures. Furthermore, local information on the dynamic mechanical response of the protection and ammunition at impact can be analyzed. The use of numerical simulations requires a faithful modeling of failure mechanisms and constitutive laws of materials of interest. In order to get precise models, it is important to conduct characterization studies taking into account i/ the thermomechanical history induced by the manufacturing process of materials and ii/ the loading conditions encountered during ballistic tests (large deformations, high strain rates, high temperature). Many studies have been conducted on protective materials but fewer on the threats and more specifically on soft core ammunitions. The work focuses on the experimental characterization and numerical modeling of the impact of two full metal jacket ammunitions (9mm and 7.62mm) consisting of a soft lead core encased in an outer shell made of steel alloy. Ballistic tests on a laminated, unidirectional high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) composite made of Dyneema® HB26 were carried out. In the thesis work, original experimental tests have been developed as well as a numerical tool which can reproduce phenomena occurring during the impact. As a first step of this study, mechanical characterizations of the lead alloy core and steel jacket were conducted in quasi-static and dynamic regimes using mechanical tests developed in the thesis work. A split Hopkinson bar setup was adapted to characterize the lead alloy at high strain rates. Original quasi-static tests were set up to study the deformation and failure behavior of samples directly extracted from the jacket in its original shape, to account for the thermomechanical history of the materials composing the bullet. The obtained experimental data were used to identify different constitutive and failure models. In the case of the steel alloy jacket, an inverse method coupled to numerical simulations and an optimization algorithm was used to identify material and damage model parameters. These models were validated based on comparisons between experimental and numerical simulations of the impact on bars of core-jacket assemblies. Finally, ballistic tests were carried out for the impact of 9 mm and 7.62 mm ammunitions on Dyneema® HB26 composite targets. The obtained results were compared to numerical simulations conducted using Abaqus® Explicit. A specific attention was paid on the accurate description of the mushrooming of the 9 mm bullet and the fragmentation of the 7.62 mm. This fragmentation phenomenon was numerically described through the use of a finite element to smooth particle hydrodynamics conversion. The work is complemented by a parametric study revealing the sensitivity of the residual velocity, the damage of the bullet, and the deflection of the target to material model parameters and mesh

The farmers have been characterized according to the organisation of their farms and fonctions inside a sugar agro-industrial complexe. After a theorie discusion about the peasantry, we propose the use of original categories adapted to this concrete reality. To abtain our objective it was necessary, to begin with, an historic approach over the origins of the sugar cane culture, the characteristics of farmers, and the role of states as guardian and regulator of this activity. This evolution, in tucuman, manifests itself through an agrarian structure characterized by the extreme concentration subdivision of land. The sugar cane culture presents these same characteristics and the labor market has adapted to its cycle of production. Field work of simoca constating that it does not escape from the characteristics above mentioned, except that it is a marginal region for the sugar cane activity wich in fact means the deteriorisatyion of the way of life of small farmers. Lastly, we try a pronostic about the small and middle farmers future vis-a-vis the new policy of economic deregulation, set in place in 1991, after more than a century of state's protection and regulation of the sugar cane activity

Over the last decade, cloud computing technologies have considerably grown, this translates into a surge in data center power consumption. The magnitude of the problem has motivated numerous research studies around static or dynamic solutions to reduce the overall energy consumption of a data center. The aim of this thesis is to integrate renewable energy sources into dynamic energy optimization models in a data center. For this we use constraint programming as well as machine learning techniques. First, we propose a global constraint for tasks intersection that takes into account a ressource with variable cost. Second, we propose two learning models for the prediction of the work load of a data center and for the generation of such curves. Finally, we formalize the green energy aware scheduling problem (GEASP) and propose a global model based on constraint programming as well as a search heuristic to solve it efficiently. The proposed model integrates the various aspects inherent to the dynamic planning problem in a data center : heterogeneous physical machines, various application types (i.e., ractive applications and batch applications), actions and energetic costs of turning ON/OFF physical machine, interrupting/resuming batch applications, CPU and RAM ressource consumption of applications, migration of tasks and energy costs related to the migrations, prediction of green energy availability, variable energy consumption of physical machines

Two fundamental objectives are behind our research. The first one is to discover and describe the Internet usage by Chartered Accountants, managers of SMAFs in their professional environment, in order to reject or to confirm the assumption of possible “technological determination”. The second objective is to identify the explanatory factors which may affect the observed practices. The empirical survey conducted into 283 Chartered Accountants reveals that: Far from being an homogeneous group, we found that Chartered Accountants appropriate Internet differently. A cluster analysis has been applied and three profiles of Chartered Accountants have emerged based on their Internet use: “the specialists”, “the pragmatics” and “the followers”. There is no single factor, whether individual or organisational which explain the wide variety of the observed practices, there are however some intermediary tendencies involving both individual & organisational determinants

A source of imagination since the l8thcentury, the question of the use of Praenestine cistae remains an open one, as recent studies have suggested. This thesis proposes a reevaluation of the question by moving beyond the methodological stumbling block that has treated the Praenestine cistae as if they were a homogeneous category of objects with a single usage. A combination of typological, iconographic, iconological, and historical considerations allows us to deepen our understanding of the practical and symbolic role of these cistae. The creation of a typology of these containers thus affirms the possibilities for their use and the social and ethnic diversity of their owners. An iconic approach allows us to confirm the relationship of the cistae with rites of passage. Numerous images attest to a conceptual association between the cistae, beauty, and death. This relationship is expressed furthermore through a refined language relating to death and eschatological matters that is engraved on the cistae. Employing the schema of A. Maslow, the cistae correspond to five fundamental needs: psychological needs (usages relating to personal hygiene and rituals), the need for security (protection of a certain age grade), needs of belonging (an elite object), the need for recognition (the mastery of beauty), and the need for self-realization (Hellenic culture)

Analysis of emergence of medias and consequences of their social uses have been most often seen onto "mass-media" side. But there are many social places, like associations and settlements in which can be built strategic and alternatives ways of cultural, politic or economic use and appropriation. This thesis is at the cross of the field of associations and field of medias in order to obtain a "socialisation" of electronic medias. It studies some projects and programs based on audio-visual and computers and shows which axis, which strategies it is possible to gave to people some ways to take consciousness and to react upon the one dimensional means of social lifes. Double function of creation and communication of media are crossed with double distanciation (critic and dialectic). Their theoric analysis is based onto a bipolar modelisation, with a first mediatic bipole (function of creation and function of communication) and a second perceptive bipole (immanent auto-distanciation identification-projection-transfer or iad ipt). Mediatic distanciation makes an connection of these two concepts and modelisations. It is illustrated by ground studies developed into research of iad ipt profiles of people and iad ipt potentials of media. Mediatic distanciation is based of examples from the associations. Culture and communication institutions, national education ministry. They try to bring out "social utility", into an ambition of praxis. Audio-visual media (mass-media or self-media), informatic and computers uses and telematic are studied with programs like "informatique pour tous" (1985) and with partners like "agence de l'informatique", x2000 centres, associations of youth, micro-computers or audio-visual clubs, syndicates or political parties. Conclusion awakes onto concepts of social integrator and social distanciator
