Повний текст джерелаThe archaeological heritage of Cy-prus is one of the foundations of the territorial and cultural identity of a country that is still divi-ded, yet it remains largely unknown outside the scientific community. However, the development of archaeological excavations since the 19th century has enabled the formation of various collections throughout Europe. These collections preserve and exhibit a scattered archaeological heritage, and its meaning is only partly acces-sible. Passing on this heritage relies on both the preservation and the display of the remains. Based on empirical investigations, the thesis draws up an up-to-date overview of this heritage. Thus, the means used to preserve and enhance it are analyzed, starting from 1960 - the date when Cyprus became an independent state and began implementing its own policy for protecting and enhancing its heritage - to the present day. To this end, a selection of sites and monuments is studied - they are representative of different periods of the island’s history - as well as a nu-mber of permanent exhibitions in Cyprus and in the major museums of Europe. This study invites questioning the history of archaeology and ar-chaeological collections: it suggests comparing preservation and display methods, in order to highlight the current issues at stake. On the ba-sis of this comparative and diachronic analysis, this thesis then proposes to explore the possible perspectives for giving meaning to this shared heritage. Lastly, the matter of the archaeological context is discussed in the final part of the thesis. Archaeological context is revealed as of crucial importance in the transmission of the heritage, promoting new visitor experiences

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis analyses the relationship between politics and culture (museums and heritage (m&h) from a historic-hermeneutic perspective. The first historical stage we study is the shift to the public sphere of museums in the 18th century, inseparable from a culture critical of politics and self-contained in its relation to politics. The second stage is the politization of m&h achieved through bureaucratization around 1900. The third stage saw the implementation of democratization programs. This form of politization, which developed after 1945, relied on welfare-state type quantification. Nowadays the relations between politics & culture is going trough a new phase : the state no longer holds total sway over cultural policies but has to cooperate with other public actors. Finally, the difficult - emergence of forms of public debate on and support of culture on a european scale is redefining the relationship

Повний текст джерелаFor the XVth century Italy was a playground of favourite of collectors, private individuals among whom some very early placed their collections at the disposal of the public. The curious collect objects for the most part of the cases for reasons for being able to, of politics or still religious option, but not with the aim of preserving them. However the development of networks of sociability and business in the XVIth century made cabinets of curiosity an European reality. When the collectors die, certain collections are sold and of other one transformed into museum from the XVIIth century, others are also, in the XVIIIth and in the XIXth century, at the origin of collections kept at present in high schools and universities. The history of the European collections, including with regard to the most recent evolution of museums, allows to think about what can and have to be collections today, and as regards their preservation and the conditions of their study, and as for their opening to the public. Yet further to major discoveries in paleontology in Africa, and with the aim of managing and valuing these collections, numerou national museums settle in capitals and museum representation change to become real museums oriented developments of scientific research. It is also through the paleontological discoveries in Africa that the whole world and the Africans became aware themselves of the diversity and the immense natural and patrimonial wealth of this continent. The paleontological collections of the Chad present a very important scientific interest, which results from their impact on the knowledge of the " Origin and the History of the Human Family ". On more than 20 000 fossil specimens brought to light by the MPFT, 18343 are inventoried and digitized, including 316 types and figured, a database was built with these guys and figured in Access is posted on the CNAR Site and catalogs on these type specimens were also developed and printed in this work. These collections constitute one of the richest paleontological collections of Central Africa today, in particular for the period of Mio-Pliocène (from 7,3 to 3 My). Also generates an undeniable socio- cultural issue. A study is conducted and trails are proposed to ensure not only a true conservation policy but also of valuation, including the general public. Our thesis intends to contribute on second thought on the future of the African, in particular Chadian collections

Повний текст джерелаThe historical and sociological analysis of the setting up of digital libraries in three heritage institutions (Bibliothèque nationale de France, British Library, Österreichische Nationalbibliothek), from 1990 to 2011, shows how these organisations, which produce and preserve physical cultural heritage, have evolved to produce and preserve digital cultural heritage. The digital library has two aspects: it is a technological innovation and an organisation of its own. As a technological innovation, it is grounded on inventions such as digital photography, web servers, internet, optical character recognition, metadata…These inventions are combined by the action of reference groups (scholars, librarians, computer specialists, public administrations, sponsors, private companies). These groups are either marginal or included in a socio-technical network which creates the digital library. The latter is a technical artefact that evolves from a “suitcase-object” with great interpretive flexibility to a boundary object which satisfies the needs of reference groups taking part in the socio-technical network. A digital library is also an organisation, stemming from the physical library which creates specific departments in charge of controlling major uncertainty zones such as digital technologies and emerging online content providers. The latter compete with national libraries in the diffusion of cultural heritage. Controversies between actors are key moments when actors reveal their opinions concerning the technical artefact: translation is the means to enlist members of the socio-technical network to achieve the temporary closure of the artefact. The socio-technical network evolves with time to create new versions of the artefact

Повний текст джерелаIn this dissertation, we are focusing on the phenomenon of the emergence of European cultural heritage. In an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach, it is about getting into the processes of appropriation, mediation and transmission of cultural heritage considered as European in the specific framework of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. Based on a set of communicational and organisational analyses of the Program of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe, but also of three cases of Cultural Routes (Via Regia, Via Francigena and Saint Martin of Tours), this works aims at comprehending the process of making heritage at a European level by questioning, among others, the meanings, the visibility and legibility plans, and the representation and legitimation strategies that are at stakes when members of transnational networks build a European sense of common heritage. Finally, it is also about understanding how, in the framework of the procedure of giving a label to European projects, publicizing heritage can be a place of resistance against institutions that can then influence the discourses about the heritage items

Повний текст джерелаThis dissertation investigates the processes by which a practice of sung poetry, which is part of the brincadeira (play) called maracatu of baque solto in Pernambuco (Brazil), becomes a music played on stage, circulating in the globalized networks of musical production between Brazil and Europe. The maracatu de baque solto, that in its original form federates tastes, plays, attachments, knowledge transmitted from generation to generation, when entering the world music circuit creates new tastes, new plays, new attachments and new ways of sharing musical and artistic knowledge. To complete this purpose, I have closely followed musicians that are actively engaged in the rituals of maracatu de baque solto, but also participate in the rites of the amplified music scene. The research along the continuum of the same musical practice in completely different contexts allowed me to mirror two categories used to classify it into the musical production network: cultura popular (popular culture) and world music. While the circulation of the ensemble on the scenes of European festivals features an ongoing negotiation of imaginaries of Brazil within the world music platform, the circulation of maracatu de baque solto in Pernambuco invites us to think about the representations that are mobilized there from the sounds of cultura popular stagings. This multi-sited ethnography seeks then to analyze the amplified music scene, passing by sambadas and carnival processions, the trajectory of maracatu masters and the music production networks between Brazil and Europe. How music crosses the modes of existence from the music scene until the carnival parade? How it makes a common area and its collective assessment? The study of musical circulation raises the political stakes of the world system and reveals modes of existence of music in contemporary societies
