The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on various aspects of the environment. Road traffic has been greatly reduced due to lockdown-related restrictions, leading to an unprecedented decrease in noise levels and air pollution. This thesis proposes an original approach based on the measurement using portable sensors and modeling of noise, fine particulate matter (PM), and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the 13th arrondissement of Paris during peak hours. The focus is on comparing atmospheric pollutant levels between COVID-19 lockdown days and non-lockdown days, taking into account meteorological conditions. Mobile survey data were collected using Aeroqual 500 air pollution sensors and EXTECH 4017764 noise sensors. This investigation confirms that road traffic appears to be a determining factor in both noise nuisance and air pollution. Daily average concentrations of noise, PM10, and NO2 calculated between 2020 and 2022 demonstrate strong spatiotemporal variability, explained partly by weather conditions and proximity to emission sources. Results from semi-itinerant measurement campaigns reveal a decrease of 6 to 10 dB(A) for noise, 15 to 25 µg/m3 for PM10, and a decrease of 30 to 50 µg/m3 for NO2 during the lockdown. Indeed, near main roads, we observe, on average, 57 to 63 dB(A) for noise, 55 to 75 µg/m3 for PM10, and 90 to 110 µg/m3 for NO2 during the lockdown, compared to 67 to 72 dB(A), 40 to 55 µg/m3, and 140 to 160 µg/m3 outside the lockdown. This research also aims to understand the risk areas in the 13th arrondissement of Paris regarding the aforementioned nuisances, using a 200m grid. It seeks to determine if certain population groups, such as children under 10, people over 65, and residents of social housing, are exposed to air pollution and noise levels exceeding European standards. We correlate different hazard degrees with vulnerabilities/issues to identify risk zones

This thesis explores how religious revival takes part in urban changes, by the emergence of new religious places, of new uses of space, and sometimes of new neighbourhoods. On Paris, since the 1990's, the 19th district concentrates the highiest number of jewish places. As it is marginally a district of jewish immigration, it leads to investigate the role of religion in the construction of new centralities and in the urban experience. This research used qualitative methods, by interviewing actors of the jewish religious revival and non-jewish inhabitants, by observing the uses of space linked to religious observance, and by analyzing the multiple forms of visibility of judaism. By describing the grouping processes that associate religious, residential and commercial aspects, we could show that these recomposed neighbourhoods are not a spatial traduction of a community unity. On the contrary, they proceed from the diversity within the group, and they are discontinuous and loose spaces

Barbes is a shopping area in the 18th district of paris. It is situated in the neighbourhoods of montmartre, pigalle and goutte d'or. It is characterized by a very high number of shops and a striking mixture of different types of people. Shops such as tati and the dejean market, bazaar style general stores and other discount stores all rub shoulders on the barbes and rochechouart boulevards next to the material market in the saint-pierre area. All these different kinds of shops make up a very specific shopping area which everyone calls "barbes". Through field research, the purpose of this study is to give an anthropoligical definition of the specificities of this part of paris, which is neither a neighbourhood strictly speaking, nor just a simple market, to explain the dynamic of the social relationships. By describing the places and the social relations that occur there, it appears that the exchanges which take place in this particular environment lead to a specific type of behaviour, defined on the one hand by the fact that each participant is on an equal footing with the other, and on the other hand, by the caricature of all the possible differences. There are therefore multicultural exchanges. At barbes, a multicultural and shopping environment, the otherness of individuals becomes a kind of show for everyone. Salespersons as well as customers play a game of a multiculturalism. In this staging of a "multicultural society", since we all, at the end of the day, come from elsewhere, when we go shopping we can be different according to our moods, and so everyone can find his place at barbes. Everyone has a justified reason for being there. Nevertheless it is only at barbes that this sociability is possible, linked to exchanges, in a part of the city which is rather imaginary and completely dedicated to showmanship in the consumer society

This thesis examines the business creation process (BCP) and successful practices reasoning effectuation (effectual logic) combined or not with the reasoning by causation - causal logic of the theory of "cause and effect" among entrepreneurs. From our research question: how do you create a successful business and how it solves-critical incidents related to business creation, we study the steps that entrepreneurs have used in 10th arrondissement of Paris to identify socioeconomic data and unpublished resources and territorial characteristics such as contingencies to succeed in business creation process (BCP). Our research problem leads actually in a logical continuum seeking to understand the processes that followed the activity creating successful projects and the methods of resolution of critical incidents related to business creation.By incident means a difficulty (by extension a problem, an obstacle) that occurs during the project creation and whose consequences can be critical or severe if it is not resolved by the creators of activities. The critical nature (or severe) here refers to what is not in their routine. This means that such an incident can result in the abandonment of the creative process in progress or slow down or lead to its cessation. Therefore, we can assume that their occurrence may be related to the context of the territory (eg, institutional factors or structural conditions of the installation place), type of resources mobilized in question or to the tools and methods used.To answer this research question we selected three research hypothesis, namely: The H1 hypothesis that matches causation (described as dominant approach in enterprise environments creators) where it assumes that the entrepreneur succeeds its business creation process (BCP) it is well trained in the business schools with the right tools (business model) and the right methods (value analysis) that simply replicate or duplicate in any context regardless of situations or contingencies favorable or not. Otherwise if it is sufficiently trained and qualifed in academic circles. Next comes the H2 hypothesis effectuation that weakens or caricature H1 should we consider this time that the entrepreneur succeeds his (BCP) if he can build a situation of unusual or unexpected opportunity of made specific qualities of its own such as charisma, personality and rival individual capacities (that is to say almost unequal individual capacities in nature). These two hypotheses H1 and H2 are based on the work of Sarasvathy (publication 2001c, a, b and following year). Finally comes the hypothesis 3 which is involved in this tension between H1 and H2 for their questioning. For hypothesis 3 (Territory) the entrepreneur succeeds his (BCP) when it can integrate into its business plan to create the role of territory with facilitative resources (not binding). In other words, an institutional framework enabling or facilitating of devices such as policy development and promotion of entrepreneurship on the territory or in the place of installation of these activities. And in this case for H3, training and entrepreneur's qualifications (H1), charisma and personality (H2) is irrelevant

The implementation of schooling assistance programs within and outside schools is showing that the mobilization and the development of skills outside schools have become the basis of new competitive strategies. These seem to show that numerous success leading factors are to be found outside school curricula, within peripheral activities which create a relationship to knowledge which is exterior to the institutional context. This dissertation is based on an empirical investigation, on observations and interviews which were carried out essentially in the voluntary sector of the 20th arrondissement of Paris. It intends to explore the diversity of voluntary activities of schooling assistance and the experience of those involved in these activities (especially the very young and the children). The central point of this research consists in showing under what conditions and in what way children get to develop skills and personal abilities which belong to the realm of "knowing how" and "behavioral knowledge". Most voluntary bodies for schooling assistance show interest in specific methods developed out of recent pedagogical research. In this respect, they appear like experimental hubs and take an active part in the shaping of a complex context for learning and training, which outgrows schooling as such. The analysis of their activities shows new forms of identity construction and unveils the complexity of the knowledge transmission channels as well as that of learning and of skill acquisition outside schools

The study of social representations of musical education by parents for whom children between the ages of 3 and 10 learn music is based through a series of interviews. This study concerns at once the choice of the activity as well as the institution, their hopes and expectations with respect to their practice. It shows that several systems of representations overlap: social representations of education in general - in addition to specific musical education, that of the child, or even more, that of the establishment. Musical education, in France, takes place within the structures of the conservatory, private tutelage or through local associations. Paris’ 20th district, site of this research, offers a variety of structures with respect to pedagogical approach as well as musical style. The use and aim attributed to musical training are analyzed according to the chosen establishement. Several concepts surrounding education and training are emerging. They flow from child social representations and extra-curriculare activities. It is the parameter of parental musical practice or its absence that chapes parental discourse

"Communication shops" in Château-Rouge, reproduce African telecenters and propose telecommunications services and products : international calling cards, call shops, fax, mobile phones, public access to internet. They particularly concentrate around the African market of Château-Rouge (Paris 18). This leads to consider that ICT may contribute to the conception of diasporic identity in a migrant population and that "communication shops" can be studied as a political phenomenon (as constituting a public space for migrant representation), as the outcome of the transnational economy lead by displaced entrepreneurs, and as an heterotopic place where migrants progressively integrate into the host country

Based on the methods of ethnographic observation and according to an emic approach, this study is meant to understand the humanization of space and the invention of the forms of solidarity through the tiny practices of the everyday life. This research started on the field of Islamâbâd, a self constructed community which was initially a shantytown, located in suburbs of Teheran, inhabited by a precarious population resulting from the rural migration. This is a whole study related to all of the aspects of the life of this community. Then the personal experience of the researcher led her to a new field: the Parisian community of Saint Blaise, marked by great public and social housing with an often immigrant population living of the social minimums. One of the questions was about the signification of the solidarity and appropriation of space in the actual situation of French capital. This research thus took the form of a comparative study of the everyday practices of interaction in two official and social systems as different as Iran and France. The results show that the uses of solidarity, particularly the relation “don/contre-don”, and the efforts of appropriation of space, are characteristic of these two societies in spite of all their obvious differences

The Estoire d’outremer is a sweeping historical account that represents one of the main Frankish sources for the history of the crusades. It contains the French translation of William of Tyre’s Historia rerum in partibus transmarinis gestarum, to which is added a compilation of several chronicles retracing the history of the Latin kingdom of Jerusalem until 1277. The Estoire d’outremer is rooted in the didactic genre as well as in aristocratic literature, and represents one of the first testaments of prose hagiography in the French language. It is evidence of the well read, although not scholarly public which emerged during the 12th and the 13th centuries, and which was keen to uncover its past. We present here the edition of the Pluteus LXI.10 manuscript at the Laurentian Library in Florence, from the f. 274 to the f. 336 (the period 1185-1247). It is part of a complex and heterogeneous ensemble of more than fifty manuscripts, and is a particularly precious testimony on several counts. Copied in Outremer French – an oïl dialect shaped in the Holy Land – it was the last manuscript to have been completed at St.-Jean d’Acre before the fall of the city and kingdom, and was the crowning achievement of a long historiographical tradition. The manuscript is complete, sumptuous and richly decorated, showcasing the particular practice of ultramarine workshops and the mastery of their ornementists. Its pages display the most consummate works produced by the Paris-Acre Master. Our text edition is presented with a comprehensive critical apparatus, a literary presentation, some codicological, linguistic and paleographical studies, a glossary, an index and a chronology
