This paper attempts to present a solution that allows the users to scan the remote host machine on a network and to assess IPv6 enablement for MS-SQL. It aims to detect the hardware and the software installed on that machine. This goal is achieved by the use of Windows Application Programming Interface (API) through Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Scripts which handles the registry. WMI Scripts are used to connect to the registry of a remote host machine that reads the installed path of the software and hardware details of that machine. First, it will detect the underlying Operating System whether it can support IPv6 or not. If the underlying operating system can support IPv6, then only applications running on it can run on IPv6 enabled network. So for this the system also assesses the IPv6 enablement of MS-SQL Server.

Abstract. As a new virtualization technology, many things about container technology need to be explored . One of them is data security issue when this technology is applied in a network. The study aims to discover a container performance when a server is being attacked by a malware. In this research, the container is installed natively on Windows Server 2016 and using Docker as the platform. Two groups of malware are used that each group has different effect on the server system. The results show that the malware used in this research does not affect the container performance yet it affects the network used by the container. The calculation results point out an increasing delay at HTTP protocol when the server is being attacked by malware group A which is from 0.028335 ms to 2.2698161 ms. The attack of group B malware on the server caused the website inside the container inaccessible. This is because group B malware also attacked the network server where the container is holding to.Keywords : Virtualization, Container, Malware, Native, Windows Server 2016, Docker.Abstrak. Sebagai teknologi virtualisasi yang baru, banyak hal yang perlu digali tentang teknologi container. Salah satunya adalah masalah keamanan data jika teknologi ini diterapkan dalam jaringan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui performa container bila server mendapat serangan dari malware. Pada penelitian ini container dipasang secara native pada Windows Server 2016 dan menggunakan Docker sebagai platform. Dua kelompok malware digunakan dalam penelitian ini dimana setiap kelompok memiliki efek yang berbeda pada sistem server. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa malware yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini tidak mempengaruhi kinerja container, tetapi mempengaruhi network yang digunakan oleh container. Hasil penghitungan menunjukkan kenaikan delay pada protokol HTTP pada saat server mengalami serangan malware kelompok A yaitu dari 0.028335 ms sampai 2.2698161 ms. Serangan malware kelompok B pada server menyebabkan website yang ada di dalam container tersebut tidak dapat diakses. Hal ini disebabkan malware kelompok B juga menyerang network server dimana container tersebut menginduk.Kata Kunci : Virtualisasi, Container, Malware, Native, Windows Server 2016, Docker.

Quality of Service (QoS) on Live Streaming has the main parameters, namely bandwidth, jitter, loss and delay, which are measured on the implementation of Wireless IP Camera based on Android Smartphone. The test tools used iperf and ping software, to capture data packets. The network design in this study uses Xonz Wireless IP Camera, wifi router, Server/Laptop and Android Smartphone to monitor or access the services provided. Surveillance/reconnaissance or surveillance by accessing live streaming can be done from anywhere as long as there is still an intranet network. wifi router provides DHCP service, Server/Laptop provides a Virtual Machine using MS Windows Server 2003 Operating System. Web Server is not installed on Real Machine but on Virtual Machine. The smartphone used has the Android Operating System version 4.4.2. IP Camera Xonz model XZ-12Z-HR/W has one major drawback that it can only be accessed via Internet Explorer Browser which can only run on MS Windows Operating System. Some applications that are already available on Google Play and installed on Android Smartphones cannot detect the Wireless IP Camera. The outcome or impact of this research is the creation of a simple Live Streaming application that can be accessed by all browsers on all platforms including Android Smartphones. Measurements were made using iperf and ping. The results showed that the Xonz IP Camera can still be used for mobile room monitoring as far as a maximum of about 20 m from the wifi router and still meets the standard QoS values ​​set by TIPHON and ITU-T G.114.

IPv6 is the next generation Internet protocol that is already in process of replacing the current IPv4 on corporate networks worldwide. Most of the latest MS Windows and Linux-based client/server operating systems (OSs) support IPv6. However, deploying IPv6 in a corporate network requires an evaluation to determine which modern OS will give the best bandwidth-latency for TCP applications. The main objective of this paper is to evaluate IPv6 against IPv4 in a peer-to-peer Gigabit Ethernet for TCP using four of the latest Windows and Linux systems and to find out the OS that provides the best system performance over IPv6 networks. It is obvious that implementing IPv6 on a Gigabit Ethernet will have drawbacks of lower bandwidth and higher latency as a result of its larger address space. In this paper the authors quantify the performance degradation of IPv6 using empirical study. They measure the quality of service (QoS) parameters, such as TCP throughput, round-trip-time, jitter, and CPU utilization using a customized testbed setting. The effect of packet length on system performance is also reported. The analysis and empirical results reported in this paper provide some insights into IPv6 performance with respect to the impact of modern client/server OS on system performance. This study may help network researchers and engineers to overcome the remaining challenging issues in the deployment of IPv6 on corporate networks.

This application runs after the system receives SMS that enters via mobile as the server. After being processed by a computer, the results will be sent back to the client or candidate who requested via mobile. In addition, there are broadcast systems that are announcements that inform clients or candidates. Java programming is multi-platform which can be used in a variety of System Operations and Windows. With the development of this application, it is expected to help clients or candidates to get the desired information faster.

Geographic Information System is widely used in different fields and it has different backgrounds and models these are introduced briefly in this article. Based on the analysis of development background, application and the related trends of development both at home and abroad for pipe network system, some problems are indicated, such as, building the pipe network geographic information system needs to grasp the key technology, including component technology, object-oriented design, databases and pipe network modeling technology, according to the data characteristics of gas pipe network and using MS Windows 2000 (Advance) Server or UNIX as operating system. The overall design plan of Daqing gas company pipe network information system based on the way of Web is put forward and selecting Windows 2000 Professional as client computing operating system for running the ArcInfo 9.x application program and using other geographic information system software to build the geographic information development platform that gives priority to the ArcGIS of ESRI company. The management method of geographic information system is mainly database, elaborating the implementation of all systematic functions and the management process of data and corresponding software and the development of user interface, the access to the database are finished as well. Design of user-interface is practical and convenient, which has the characteristics of easy and flexible operation situation and high visibility. Therefore, it indicates the application of geographic information system technique is to lay a solid foundation for the standardization of enterprises, in the meantime, it can effectively promote the urban construction and economic development.

Abstract Motivation The proteomics field requires the production and publication of reliable mass spectrometry-based identification and quantification results. Although many tools or algorithms exist, very few consider the importance of combining, in a unique software environment, efficient processing algorithms and a data management system to process and curate hundreds of datasets associated with a single proteomics study. Results Here, we present Proline, a robust software suite for analysis of MS-based proteomics data, which collects, processes and allows visualization and publication of proteomics datasets. We illustrate its ease of use for various steps in the validation and quantification workflow, its data curation capabilities and its computational efficiency. The DDA label-free quantification workflow efficiency was assessed by comparing results obtained with Proline to those obtained with a widely used software using a spiked-in sample. This assessment demonstrated Proline’s ability to provide high quantification accuracy in a user-friendly interface for datasets of any size. Availability and implementation Proline is available for Windows and Linux under CECILL open-source license. It can be deployed in client–server mode or in standalone mode at http://proline.profiproteomics.fr/#downloads. Supplementary information Supplementary data are available at Bioinformatics online.

Background Mass Spectrometry (MS) based chemoproteomics has recently become a main tool to identify and quantify cellular target protein interactions with ligands/drugs in drug discovery. The complexity associated with these new types of data requires scientists with a limited computational background to perform systematic data quality controls as well as to visualize the results derived from the analysis to enable rapid decision making. To date, there are no readily accessible platforms specifically designed for chemoproteomics data analysis. Results We developed a Shiny-based web application named DOSCHEDA (Down Stream Chemoproteomics Data Analysis) to assess the quality of chemoproteomics experiments, to filter peptide intensities based on linear correlations between replicates, and to perform statistical analysis based on the experimental design. In order to increase its accessibility, DOSCHEDA is designed to be used with minimal user input and it does not require programming knowledge. Typical inputs can be protein fold changes or peptide intensities obtained from Proteome Discover, MaxQuant or other similar software. DOSCHEDA aggregates results from bioinformatics analyses performed on the input dataset into a dynamic interface, it encompasses interactive graphics and enables customized output reports. Conclusions DOSCHEDA is implemented entirely in R language. It can be launched by any system with R installed, including Windows, Mac OS and Linux distributions. DOSCHEDA is hosted on a shiny-server at https://doscheda.shinyapps.io/doscheda and is also available as a Bioconductor package (http://www.bioconductor.org/).

The aim of this study is to find spatial patterns of EEG amplitude in the gamma range of the EEGs from multiple sensory and limbic areas that demonstrate multisensory convergence and integration. 64 electrodes spread in small arrays were fixed on or in the olfactory, visual, auditory, somatomotor and entorhinal areas of cats and rabbits. The subjects were trained to discriminate 2 visual and then 2 auditory conditioned stimuli, one reinforced (CS+), the other not (CS-). A moving window was applied to the 6-s records from 20 trials of each CS including a 3-s prestimulus control (CS0). The root mean square amplitude was calculated for each signal in the gamma range, so each window gave a point in 64-space. EEG patterns from the CS+, CS- and CS0 conditions gave 3 clusters of points in 64-space. The Euclidean distance of each point to the nearest center of gravity of a cluster served for classification and estimation of the probability of correct classification. The results showed that the gamma activity (35–60 Hz in cats, 20–80 Hz in rabbits) in all five areas formed global patterns of amplitude modulation (AM) in time windows lasting ~100–200 ms and recurring at 2–4 Hz, which were correctly classified above chance levels (p<0.01). All areas contributed information to the AM patterns that served to classify the EEG epochs in the windows with respect to the conditioned stimuli. In conclusion, multisensory integration took place over the greater part of the hemisphere, despite lack of phase coherence among the gamma waves. The integration occurred rapidly enough that, within 300 ms of CS onset, activity in every sensory area was modified by what took place in every other sensory area.

In this chapter, the authors present the methodology and the results of their effort towards the introduction of cloud services as a means to simplify the adoption of ICT in education using Free/Open Source Software. A hybrid cloud infrastructure is established in order to provide Linux and optionally MS-Windows desktop environments with the Software as a Service cloud model. Legacy and modern school PCs function as stateless devices. To achieve this, their “Sch-scripts” application performs an unattended installation of the Linux Terminal Server Project software to a school computer that also hosts centrally maintained virtual machines. Classroom management is accomplished using their “Epoptes” application. Administration is only required in the school server while the educational software is provided with the Software as a Service model either in online form or through repositories that automate software installation. Four-hundred-twenty schools have already implemented this architecture and 117 responded to the evaluation survey. The statistical analysis of these answers confirms the design principles, which include minimal cost, as well as reusability of obsolete equipment, ease of administration, centralized management, patches and educational software provisioning, classroom management, and above all, facilitation of the educational procedure.

Original technology of monitoring network packets circulating within local network is described in the article. Technology is based on the dedicated workstation, operating in MS-DOS and getting all available packets. Aggregated data are transmitted to the nearest Windows-PC through serial-connection. Monitoring program on this PC is able to trace infected computers and disconnect them from the local network. This function works due to the Cisco switchboard. The book provides complete information about methods and means of monitoring as well as the description of the pilot version of the program. Technology is exercised as the pilot project in CEMI RAS in 2000 and is successfully used since 2006. The maximum number of users exceeded 200 PCs and servers. The author is awarded the title «Doctor of Philosophy» by EAI (Brussel) for his in-field research in 2003. Monography is recommended to publication by the FSBIS academic Council CEMI RAS.

Abstract Surfactant performance is a function of its hydrophobic tail, and hydrophilic head in combination with crude oil composition, brine salinity, rock composition, and reservoir temperature. Specifically, for nonionic surfactants, temperature is a dominant variable due to the nature of the ethylene oxide (EO) groups in the hydrophilic head known as the cloud point temperature. This study aims to highlight the existence of temperature operating window for nonionic surfactants to optimize oil recovery during EOR applications in unconventional reservoirs. Two nonylphenol (NP) ethoxylated nonionic surfactants with different EO head groups were investigated in this study. A medium and light grade crude oil were utilized for this study. Core plugs from a carbonate-rich outcrop and a quartz-rich outcrop were used for imbibition experiments. Interfacial tension and contact angle measurements were performed to investigate the effect of temperature on the surfactant interaction in an oil/brine and oil/brine/rock system respectively. Finally, a series of spontaneous imbibition experiments was performed on three temperatures selected based on the cloud point of each surfactant in order to construct a temperature operating window for each surfactant. Both nonionic surfactants were observed to improve oil recovery from the two oil-wet oil/rock system tested in this study. The improvement was observed on both final recovery and rate of spontaneous imbibition. However, it was observed that each nonionic surfactant has its optimum temperature operating window relative to the cloud point of that surfactant. For both nonionic surfactants tested in this study, this window begins from the cloud point of the surfactant up to 25°F above the cloud point. Below this operating window, the surfactant showed subpar performance in increasing oil recovery. This behavior is caused by the thermodynamic equilibrium of the surfactant at this temperature which drives the molecule to be more soluble in the aqueous-phase as opposed to partitioning at the interface. Above the operating window, surfactant performance was also inferior. Although for this condition, the behavior is caused by the preference of the surfactant molecule to be in the oleic-phase rather than the aqueous-phase. One important conclusion is the surfactant achieved its optimum performance when it positions itself on the oil/water interface, and this configuration is achieved when the temperature of the system is in the operating window mentioned above. Additionally, it was also observed that the 25°F operating window varies based on the characteristic of the crude oil. A surfactant study is generally performed on a single basin, with a single crude oil on a single reservoir temperature or even on a proxy model at room temperature. This study aims to highlight the importance of applying the correct reservoir temperature when investigating nonionic surfactant behavior. Furthermore, this study aims to introduce a temperature operating window concept for nonionic surfactants. This work demonstrates that there is not a "one size fits all" surfactant design.

Abstract In a Gulf of Mexico (GOM) ultradeepwater well, liner integrity issues forced an operator to consider milling a conventional casing exit to sidetrack as deep as possible to re-establish production. Milling a window in 12 -1/4-in. heavy wall casing above the liner hanger had never been achieved before because of the thickness and grade of casing. A successful installation would require significant preplanning and testing to prove capability before real-world application. The service provider recommended an off-the-shelf solution to accommodate a 12 -1/4-in. casing exit. It was determined that the best fit for the application would be the standard equipment used for exits out of 10 -3/4-in. casing, given the similar internal diameters (IDs). Despite never having performed an installation in this casing size, the provider had a successful run history for exits in heavy weight casing strings. Job challenges included avoiding cutting a casing connection, managing swarf, milling through a centralizer, and achieving a low dogleg for production packers. Additional challenges included torque limitations, mill gauge, and the limestone formation. An 8-in. outside diameter (OD) system with mechanical anchor and 9 -7/8-in. OD mills was sent to a test well designed to replicate the target section of the offshore well. Based on determinations made in the planning phase, milling of the window and rathole would be staged in two trips. Additionally, a replica drilling bottom hole assembly (BHA), 8 -5/8-in. casing, and a replica production packer would need to pass through the window to ensure both window quality and low enough dogleg. Dogleg data was acquired through multiple logging runs during the 10-day operation. The installation went as planned, along with an additional custom window elongation run to decrease the dogleg severity to approximately 4.5°/100 -ft (30m). Having successfully validated the equipment for the application, the operator and servicer prover were comfortable moving onto the GOM well. Considering the test results, the team planned to mill the window and rathole in one trip. They achieved the 22 -ft long window and 15 -ft rathole in one run that lasted 26 hours. This installation is the first sidetrack conducted with a whipstock in 12 -1/4-in. casing. This paper shows that a safe, reliable casing exit installation is possible in difficult applications, such as uniquely heavy wall casing, even though it may previously have been considered impossible. This successful application provides the industry with contingency options in similar scenarios.

ABSTRACT Natural gas is one of the cleanest energy sources, its uses range from fueling power stations to cooking and heating. Global demand for natural gas is expected to rise in the coming years. Meeting these energy demands means drilling deeper exploration and development wells to access huge volumes of gas present under high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) conditions. Despite the attractiveness of the reward, managing the narrow drilling window between the reservoir pore pressure and the formation fracture gradient has remained a major source of cost escalation and non-productive time on HPHT projects. In order to improve the economics of HPHT projects, technologies like Managed Pressure Drilling and borehole strengthening have been used as a means of mitigating the risks associated with narrow margin drilling, thus enabling a paradigm shift from traditional casing seat selection methodology. In the Niger Delta, it is not uncommon to observe significant jumps in pore pressure values in proximate high pressure formations. The simplification of well designs and successful drilling operations are often challenged by the need to navigate through series of high pressured reservoirs in narrow margin windows. Compliance with process safety requirements requires selection of mud weight that is low enough to prevent mud loss and high enough to overbalance the reservoir pressure. Mud loss induced by formation fracture is often encountered in tight margin drilling, and when this happens, the focus shifts to strengthening the damaged wellbore using various techniques such as pumping chemical resins to seal off the loss zones. Various degrees of results have been achieved when borehole strengthening techniques are deployed with the objective of restoring wellbore integrity in both permeable and non-permeable formations. Successful deployments have resulted in achieving the well objectives safely and cost effectively. This paper details loss of wellbore integrity experienced on an HPHT well in the Niger delta and the wellbore strengthening strategy that was used to restore the strength in a non-permeable formation. It sheds light on how understanding the nature of the fracture, rock lithology as well as proper job execution can restore a damaged wellbore to its previous strengths. A Cost reduction approach to the execution of the strategy is also discussed.

Abstract This paper details how a major international operator was able to work directly with a Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) service provider during the global pandemic to mobilize to a deep water Tension Leg Platform (TLP) in the Gulf of Mexico in fewer than four weeks from notification to being operationally ready. Apart from the time crunch, the challenging part was achieving it virtually without face-to-face meetings or rig visit. The legacy hydraulically controlled MPD system used on the previous well had proven to be very challenging. It could not provide the desired precise control to maintain the annular pressures within the operational window, thus necessitating a change. Furthermore, the deck space limitations had significantly restricted the equipment that could be used to gain accurate pressure control. Despite COVID, all the planning stages were performed, albeit virtually, and a compact modular electric servo choke MPD system was deployed, installed, and commissioned within four weeks from the initial discussions. The new MPD system, which replaced the legacy system, was successfully utilized on this project executing the constant bottom hole pressure (CBHP) MPD variations. It achieved bottom hole pressure (BHP) control within a 0.1 - 0.2 ppg operational window. This paper will discuss how, operationally, this 1-man per shift MPD crew communicated with the rig and operator personnel, delivered accurate pressure control on connections, performed dynamic formation integrity tests (FITs), delivering flawless execution, and meeting the client's expectations. Global pandemic made big changes in our work, learning and interact with people with social distancing.

Abstract Geomechanical modeling is an integral part of the oil and gas industry and is used in all life cycles of the field - monitoring and improving the efficiency of well construction, choosing a completion system, modeling hydraulic fracturing processes, modeling development processes taking into account changes in the stress state of the reservoir, taking into account the fault, salt tectonics, control over the development of the reservoir, control of subsidence of the earth's surface. The success of geomechanical modeling directly depends on the quantity and quality of input data. In contrast to the geological and hydrodynamic models, in geomechanics there is still no unified approach and algorithm for quantifying the model error. The quality of the geomechanical model is defined as "satisfactory" / "not satisfactory" and "confirmed by actual data" / "not confirmed by actual data". In a series of articles on "Metrological support of a geomechanical model", the authors show an algorithm for a quantitative assessment of the error of a geomechanical model. The proposed algorithm takes into account the measurement error (in the well and in the laboratory), the quality of logging data, direct measurements or reconstructed measurements, the tightness of correlations (both for the results of core studies and for the reconstruction of missing logging data), the calculation of the uncertainty taking into account the calibration information. This paper describes a generalized algorithm for quantifying the error of a geomechanical model, presented in previous articles, and provides a method for quantifying calculate the uncertainty, taking into account calibration information, such as measurements of horizontal stresses, core studies in laboratory conditions.

Abstract The objective of this study is to design a series of squeeze treatments for 20 years of production of a Brazilian pre-salt carbonate reservoir analogue, minimizing the cost of scale inhibition strategy. CO2-WAG (Water-Alternating-Gas) injection is implemented in the reservoir to increase oil recovery, but it may also increase the risk of scale deposition. Dissolution of CaCO3 as a consequence of pH decrease during the CO2 injection may result in a higher risk of calcium carbonate precipitation in the production system. The deposits may occur at any location from production bottom-hole to surface facilities. Squeeze treatment is thought to be the most efficient technique to prevent CaCO3 deposition in this reservoir. Therefore, the optimum WAG design for a quarter 5-spot model, with the maximum Net Present Value (NPV) and CO2 storage volume identified from a reservoir optimization process, was considered as the basis for optimizing the squeeze treatment strategy, and the results were compared with those for a base-case waterflooding scenario. Gradient Descent algorithm was used to identify the optimum squeeze lifetime duration for the total lifecycle. The main objective of squeeze strategy optimization is to identify the frequency and lifetime of treatments, resulting in the lowest possible expenditure to achieve water protection over the well's lifecycle. The simulation results for the WAG case showed that the scale window elongates over the last 10 years of production after water breakthrough in the production well. Different squeeze target lifetimes, ranging from 0.5 to 6 million bbl of produced water were considered to optimize the lifetime duration. The optimum squeeze lifetime was identified as being 2 million bbl of protected water, which was implemented for the subsequent squeeze treatments. Based on the water production rate and saturation ratio over time, the optimum chemical deployment plan was calculated. The optimization results showed that seven squeeze treatments were needed to protect the production well in the WAG scenario, while ten treatments were necessary in the waterflooding case, due to the higher water rate in the production window. The novelty of this approach is the ability to optimize a series of squeeze treatment designs for a long-term production period. It adds valuable information at the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) stage in a field, where scale control may have a significant impact on the field's economic viability.

Abstract This paper reviews the recently concluded successful application of a Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) system on a High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) well with Narrow Mud Weight Window (NMWW) in the UK sector in the Central North Sea. Well-A was drilled with the Constant Bottom Hole Pressure (CBHP) version of MPD with a mud weight statically underbalanced and dynamically close to formation pore pressure. Whilst drilling the 12-1/2" section of the well with statically under-balanced mud weight, to minimize the overbalance across the open hole, an influx was detected by the MPD system as a result of drilling into a pressure ramp. The MPD system allowed surface back pressure to be applied and the primary barrier of the well re-established, resulting in a minimal influx volume of 0.06 m3 and the ability to circulate the influx out by keeping the Stand Pipe Pressure (SPP) constant while adjusting Surface Back Pressure (SBP) through the MPD chokes in less than 4 hours with a single circulation. After reaching the 12-1/2" section TD, only ~0.025sg (175 psi) Equivalent Mud Weight (EMW) window was available to displace the well and pull out of hole (POOH) the bottom hole assembly (BHA) therefore, 3 × LCM pills of different concentrations were pumped and squeezed into the formation with SBP to enhance the NMWW to 0.035sg EMW (245 psi) deemed necessary to kill the well and retrieve BHA. MPD allowed efficient cement squeeze operations to be performed in order to cement the fractured/weak zones which sufficiently strengthened the well bore to continue drilling. A series of Dynamic Pore Pressure and Formation Integrity Tests (DPPT and DFIT) were performed to evaluate the formation strength post remedial work and to define the updated MMW. Despite the challenges, the MPD system enabled the delivery of a conventionally un-drillable well to target depth (TD) without any unplanned increase/decrease in mud weight or any costly contingency architecture operations, whilst decreasing the amount of NPT (Non Productive Time) and ILT (Invisible Lost Time) incurred. This paper discusses the planning, design, and execution of MPD operations on the Infill Well-A, the results achieved, and lessons learned that recommend using the technology both as an enabler and performance enhancer.

Since the ASYST data acquisition and analysis software was discontinued and the old versions of ASYST do not support new computer operating systems and new data acquisition boards, old computer data acquisition (CDAQ) system is being replaced with a new data acquisition system. The new microcomputer based data acquisition system consists of an i-3 microcomputer with 3.0 GHz CPU and Windows-7 operating system, a Data Translation (DT) DT-304, 12-bit, 400 MHz data acquisition board with STP-300 screw terminal, Data Translation Measure Foundry (DT-MF) software and DT-LV link software [2], a National Instruments (NI) PCI-6250, M-series, low level, 16-bit, 1.25 MS/s board with 4-module SCC-68 I/O Connector Block, four thermocouple-input plug-in modules and NI LabVIEW (NI-LV) software [4]. Data Translation’s DT-LV software links DT boards with NI-LV software. Most ASYST-based data acquisition and analysis application programs used in Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) courses have been converted to NI-LV and DT-MF application programs. Purpose of this paper is to describe how our old data acquisition application programs were converted to new data acquisition application programs so that they may be used with our new data acquisition system. Descriptions of the experiments, equipment used, and experiences gained with laboratory experiments are given elsewhere [8–13]. Specifically: Reference [8] covers upgrades made to the Materials Testing Laboratory, including Tinius-Olsen [14] tensile testing machine; reference [9] covers design and development of data acquisition programs for the materials testing, including Tensile Testing of Materials experiment; references [11] and [12] cover Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) experiments and use of DAQ system in these experiments; reference [13] cover all uses of DAQ system in MET at University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES).

Abstract As part of the Monaco offshore urban extension project, Bouygues TP is in charge of design & build a maritime infrastructure as the first step of the six-hectare expansion of the city into the sea. This maritime infrastructure consists of a fill enclosed by a band of trapezoid concrete caissons and will serve as base for construction of the new residential area. The paper focuses on some of the problems which had to be solved: optimization of promenade level and wave absorbing chambers in conjunction with minimal reflection and safety related to overtopping, accounting for sea level rise and correlation between extreme waves and water levels. caissons and rubble mound foundation stability related to waves and seism, including extra seismic forces due to buildings considering the high reclamation height and the immediate proximity of building foundations. the way in which caissons representing nearly 80,000 m3 of concrete can be built in a floating and continuous manner via a caisson box (or "caissonnier" in French), within a particularly short time frame presence of a small craft harbor with shops along the quays, whose location was fixed for urbanistic reasons, which requested optimizations in detail of anti-overtopping devices as much as possible integrated in the urban context, need to convert a breakwater caisson into a low crested swimming pool caisson, with plexiglas windows exposed to wave slamming from outside, but also from inside due to overtopping impacts over the swimming pool basin. Ecodesign has been closely associated with hydrodynamic and coastal engineering, based on estimation of wave pressures and induced velocities in the different possible locations (chambers, walls, structures toes …). The eco-friendly development strategy is based on the wide-scale deployment of a range of 11 solutions which will be described (potential for caissons to be colonized, nursery function development, etc…). Moreover, posidonia transplantation has been done via concrete open boxes, whose stability under storm waves has requested CFD calculations to model local velocities and optimize their shape.

Abstract Since 1950, when the megascale Shebelinka deposit was found in the north-eastern portion of the Dnieper-Donets basin (DDB) this district has been served as a heartland of the hydrocarbon extraction in Ukraine. Right now, this area is again facing a new wave of commercial interest. Most conventional hydrocarbon plays here contain natural gas and liquid gas accumulated in numerous clastic and fractured horizons throughout Carboniferous to Lower Permian successions. The numerical basin modelling in the Donbas segment indicated that organic-rich sediments are thermally mature in the deep levels of the basin. Our interpretation of the structural patterns within the study area suggests that the kinematic development of the fracture sets is consistent with the model of development of subsidiary structures within the dextral strike-slip zone. Nearly all gas and gas condensate fields in the eastern part of the DDB may be classified as naturally fractured reservoirs in fault-breached anticlinal traps associated with releasing jogs in strike-slip assemblages. Gaseous hydrocarbons generated in deep "gas window" compartments have escaped here via several fracture corridors forming "sweet spots " sites. The main objective of this contribution is to get an insight into the style and structural trends of formation structural traps of hydrocarbons which in concert with basin modeling technologies will ensure proper technical decisions for the efficient exploration and production of gas reservoirs. This research summarizes new insights into gas deposits formation in the eastern part of DDB based on a synthetic approach ascertaining a vital connection of basin modeling results with the spatial distribution of kinematically induced releasing jogs which facilitating magnified fluid-and-gas conductivity.
