Анотація:
Mojette Transform (MOT) is used mainly in imaging implementation of mechatronicbased imaging system to reconstruct a discrete signal from a finite set of projection planes. The MOT uses a specific algorithm, called Corner Based Inversion (CBI), to reconstruct an image from its projections offering high-speed computing properties. Moreover, the MOT ensures a very low complexity in comparison to the reconstruction based on Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). In this paper, Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) based MOT is presented and also CPU and GPU processing are issued from 1283 image pixels. In the result, performance differences between the CPU and GPU architectures are discussed, and an approach of fast improvement in architectural efficiency is recommend.

This paper explored a pragmatic approach to research the real-time performance of a multiway concurrent multiobject tracking (MOT) system. At present, most research has focused on the tracking of single-image sequences, but in practical applications, multiway video streams need to be processed in parallel by MOT systems. There have been few studies on the real-time performance of multiway concurrent MOT systems. In this paper, we proposed a new MOT framework to solve multiway concurrency scenario based on a tracking-by-detection (TBD) model. The new framework mainly focuses on concurrency and real-time based on limited computing and storage resources, while considering the algorithm performance. For the former, three aspects were studied: (1) Expanded width and depth of tracking-by-detection model. In terms of width, the MOT system can support the process of multiway video sequence at the same time; in terms of depth, image collectors and bounding box collectors were introduced to support batch processing. (2) Considering the real-time performance and multiway concurrency ability, we proposed one kind of real-time MOT algorithm based on directly driven detection. (3) Optimization of system level—we also utilized the inference optimization features of NVIDIA TensorRT to accelerate the deep neural network (DNN) in the tracking algorithm. To trade off the performance of the algorithm, a negative sample (false detection sample) filter was designed to ensure tracking accuracy. Meanwhile, the factors that affect the system real-time performance and concurrency were studied. The experiment results showed that our method has a good performance in processing multiple concurrent real-time video streams.

Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) is an integral part of any autonomous driving pipelines because it produces trajectories of other moving objects in the scene and predicts their future motion. Thanks to the recent advances in 3D object detection enabled by deep learning, track-by-detection has become the dominant paradigm in 3D MOT. In this paradigm, a MOT system is essentially made of an object detector and a data association algorithm which establishes track-to-detection correspondence. While 3D object detection has been actively researched, association algorithms for 3D MOT has settled at bipartite matching formulated as a Linear Assignment Problem (LAP) and solved by the Hungarian algorithm. In this paper, we adapt a two-stage data association method which was successfully applied to image-based tracking to the 3D setting, thus providing an alternative for data association for 3D MOT. Our method outperforms the baseline using one-stage bipartite matching for data association by achieving 0.587 Average Multi-Object Tracking Accuracy (AMOTA) in NuScenes validation set and 0.365 AMOTA (at level 2) in Waymo test set.

Multiple object tracking (MOT) is a fundamental issue and has attracted considerable attention in the autonomous driving community. This paper presents a novel MOT framework for autonomous driving. The framework consists of two stages of object representation and data association. In the stage of object representation, we employ appearance, motion, and position features to characterize objects. We design a spatial pyramidal pooling hash network (SPPHNet) to generate the appearance features. Multiple-level representative features in the SPPHNet are mapped into a similarity-preserving binary space, called hash features. The hash features retain the visual discriminability of high-dimensional features and are beneficial for computational efficiency. For data association, a two-tier data association scheme is designed to address the occlusion issue, consisting of an affinity cost model and a hash-based image retrieval model. The affinity cost model accommodates the hash features, disparity, and optical flow as the first tier of data association. The hash-based image retrieval model exploits the hash features and adopts image retrieval technology to handle reappearing objects as the second tier of data association. Experiments on the KITTI public benchmark dataset and our campus scenario sequences show that our method has superior tracking performance to the state-of-the-art vision-based MOT methods.

Si les réflexions sur l’image ne sont pas nouvelles, qu’elles s’inscrivent dans le champ de la rhétorique, de l’esthétique, mais aussi de la physiologie et de la psychologie qui se sont développées au xixe siècle, le mot est particulièrement fréquent dans le premier tiers du xxe siècle, marqué par le symbolisme finissant, l’esprit nouveau et les premières avant-gardes. Il prend place au sein de discours qui tentent de réévaluer les « moyens » de la création poétique et, plus largement, d’en définir les contours, notamment au regard des arts visuels. Cet article se propose d’étudier les valeurs et les enjeux du mot « image » dans le discours critique des poètes français, afin d’observer pourquoi et comment différents types d’images sont convoquées comme modèles dans la poésie française de l’entre-deux-guerres. Il s’agira alors d’analyser les glissements entre les valeurs du mot « image », cette dernière étant apte à désigner, dans sa polysémie, les arts visuels et la poésie, et s’avérant, dans ce dernier champ, un moyen spécifique autant qu’une dynamique globale du poème et de la création poétique, alors entendue au-delà de ses frontières linguistiques.

A massive amount of video data is recorded daily for forensic post analysis and computer vision applications. The analyses of this data often require multiple object tracking (MOT). Advancements in image analysis algorithms and global optimization techniques have improved the accuracy of MOT, often at the cost of slow processing speed which limits its applications only to small video datasets. With the focus on speed, a fast-iterative data association technique (FIDA) for MOT that uses a tracking-by-detection paradigm and finds a locally optimal solution with a low computational overhead is introduced. The performance analyses conducted on a set of benchmark video datasets show that the proposed technique is significantly faster (50–600 times) than the existing state-of-the-art techniques that produce a comparable tracking accuracy.

Multi-object tracking (MOT) has gained significant attention in computer vision due to its wide range of applications. Specifically, detection-based trackers have shown high performance in MOT, but they tend to fail in occlusive scenarios such as the moment when objects overlap or separate. In this paper, we propose a triplet-based MOT network that integrates the tracking information and the visual features of the object. Using a triplet-based image feature, the network can differentiate similar-looking objects, reducing the number of identity switches over a long period. Furthermore, an attention-based re-identification model that focuses on the appearance of objects was introduced to extract the feature vectors from the images to effectively associate the objects. The extensive experimental results demonstrated that the proposed method outperforms existing methods on the ID switch metric and improves the detection performance of the tracking system.

Cet article propose une réflexion sur le recouvrement sémiologique et sur le refoulement de l'image dans la conceptualisation du signe linguistique. Après Freud, une lecture lacanienne - et une relecture de Lacan - permet de reformuler la réflexion sur les rapports entre le mot, l'image et la chose. A partir des trois registres du symbolique, de l'imaginaire et du réel, l'on peut penser le fonctionnement de l'image comme signe à condition que celle-ci appelle l'articulation d'un texte dont elle puisse, à un moment donné, devenir le signifié. L'image garde cependant une liberté fondamentale au regard de ce que le texte ne peut pas dire. L'article conclut avec quelques considérations sur les frontières instables entre le mot et l'image: des processus où tantôt le signifiant est traité comme image, tantôt l'image se rapproche du signifiant sans le devenir, tantôt elle défait le signifiant pour le libérer, le remotiver et le mettre à figurer.

As a result of increasing urbanization, traffic monitoring in cities has become a challenging task. The use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) provides an attractive solution to this problem. Multi-Object Tracking (MOT) for UAVs is a key technology to fulfill this task. Traditional detection-based-tracking (DBT) methods begin by employing an object detector to retrieve targets in each image and then track them based on a matching algorithm. Recently, the popular multi-task learning methods have been dominating this area, since they can detect targets and extract Re-Identification (Re-ID) features in a computationally efficient way. However, the detection task and the tracking task have conflicting requirements on image features, leading to the poor performance of the joint learning model compared to separate detection and tracking methods. The problem is more severe when it comes to UAV images due to the presence of irregular motion of a large number of small targets. In this paper, we propose using a balanced Joint Detection and Re-ID learning (JDR) network to address the MOT problem in UAV vision. To better handle the non-uniform motion of objects in UAV videos, the Set-Membership Filter is applied, which describes object state as a bounded set. An appearance-matching cascade is then proposed based on the target state set. Furthermore, a Motion-Mutation module is designed to address the challenges posed by the abrupt motion of UAV. Extensive experiments on the VisDrone2019-MOT dataset certify that our proposed model, referred to as SMFMOT, outperforms the state-of-the-art models by a wide margin and achieves superior performance in the MOT tasks in UAV videos.

The one-shot multiple object tracking (MOT) framework has drawn more and more attention in the MOT research community due to its advantage in inference speed. However, the tracking accuracy of current one-shot approaches could lead to an inferior performance compared with their two-stage counterparts. The reasons are two-fold: one is that motion information is often neglected due to the single-image input. The other is that detection and re-identification (ReID) are two different tasks with different focuses. Joining detection and re-identification at the training stage could lead to a suboptimal performance. To alleviate the above limitations, we propose a one-shot network named Motion and Correlation-Multiple Object Tracking (MAC-MOT). MAC-MOT introduces a motion enhance attention module (MEA) and a dual correlation attention module (DCA). MEA performs differences on adjacent feature maps which enhances the motion-related features while suppressing irrelevant information. The DCA module focuses on decoupling the detection task and re-identification task to strike a balance and reduce the competition between these two tasks. Moreover, symmetry is a core design idea in our proposed framework which is reflected in Siamese-based deep learning backbone networks, the input of dual stream images, as well as a dual correlation attention module. Our proposed approach is evaluated on the popular multiple object tracking benchmarks MOT16 and MOT17. We demonstrate that the proposed MAC-MOT can achieve a better performance than the baseline state of the arts (SOTAs).

Abstract. This paper presents a method for multiple object tracking (MOT) in video streams. The method incorporates the prediction of physical locations of people into a tracking-by-detection paradigm. We predict the trajectories of people on an estimated ground plane and apply a learning-based network to extract the appearance features across frames. The method transforms the detected object locations from image space to an estimated ground space to refine the tracking trajectories. This transform space allows the objects detected from multi-view images to be associated under one coordinate system. Besides, the occluded pedestrians in image space can be well separated in a rectified ground plane where the motion models of the pedestrians are estimated. The effectiveness of this method is evaluated on different datasets by extensive comparisons with state-of-the-art techniques. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves MOT tasks in terms of the number of identity switches (IDSW) and the fragmentations (Frag).

Le mot désignant la première boisson de notre vie paraît peu original comme objet d’intérêt. Mais puisqu’il est des plus courants et connu de tous, nous présentons son fonctionnement dans le sens premier et dans d’autres acceptions dans le registre standard, dans la langue technique, dans le sens figuré ; nous observons les formations dérivées et composées et les expressions phraséologiques françaises et polonaises avec lait / mleko. Nous évoquons le lien entre le lait et le vin, présent uniquement en français et visible à travers quelques expressions. Nous essayons d’en tirer une image sémantique du mot et son emploi dans les expressions à partir des dictionnaires anciens et modernes français et polonais. Ce substantif concret, pouvant être compté parmi les universaux de la langue, ne présente pas de champ synonymique développé mais seulement quelques emplois métonymiques et métaphoriques qui nous paraissent néanmoins mériter une réflexion relative aux deux langues.

In this study, the image definition of animal fibers captured by Axioskop 2 MOT PLUS differential interference contrast (DIC) light microscope using 1-bromonaphthalene, diethylene glycol, n-decyl alcohol, and ethylene glycol monomethyl ether as embedding medium, respectively, is compared with the image definition obtained using paraffin wax, the reference embedding medium. The effects of the four kinds of embedding media on the image definition of camel cashmere, yak cashmere, wool, and cashmere are also analyzed. Results show that topographical feature, scale structure, and pigmentation are better visualized when n-decyl alcohol is used as embedding medium compared to when the other kinds of embedding media are used. This meets the requirement of computer image analysis method for the identification of camel cashmereand yak cashmere fibers. Furthermore, the image definition of wool and cashmere is clearly improved when n-decyl alcohol is used as the embedding medium compared to when paraffin wax is used in the same condition.

Multi-object tracking (MOT) is a significant and widespread research field in image processing and computer vision. The goal of the MOT task consists in predicting the complete tracklets of multiple objects in a video sequence. There are usually many challenges that degrade the performance of the algorithm in the tracking process, such as occlusion and similar objects. However, the existing MOT algorithms based on the tracking-by-detection paradigm struggle to accurately predict the location of the objects that they fail to track in complex scenes, leading to tracking performance decay, such as an increase in the number of ID switches and tracking drifts. To tackle those difficulties, in this study, we design a motion prediction strategy for predicting the location of occluded objects. Since the occluded objects may be legible in earlier frames, we utilize the speed and location of the objects in the past frames to predict the possible location of the occluded objects. In addition, to improve the tracking speed and further enhance the tracking robustness, we utilize efficient YOLOv4-tiny to produce the detections in the proposed algorithm. By using YOLOv4-tiny, the tracking speed of our proposed method improved significantly. The experimental results on two widely used public datasets show that our proposed approach has obvious advantages in tracking accuracy and speed compared with other comparison algorithms. Compared to the Deep SORT baseline, our proposed method has a significant improvement in tracking performance.

As an important part of hydrometry, river discharge monitoring plays an irreplaceable role in the planning and management of water resources and is an essential element and necessary means of river management. Due to its benefits of simplicity, efficiency and safety, Space-Time Image Velocimetry (STIV) has attracted attention from all around the world. The most crucial component of the STIV is the detection of the Main Orientation of Texture (MOT), and the precision of detection directly affects the results of calculations. However, due to the complicated river flow characteristics and the harsh testing environment in the field, a large amount of noise and interfering textures show up in the space-time images, which affects the detection results of the MOT. In response to the shortage of noise and interference texture, a new non-contact image analysis method is developed. Firstly, Multi-scale Retinex (MSR) is proposed to pre-process the images for contrast enhancement; secondly, a fourth-order Gaussian derivative steerable filter is employed to enhance the structure of the texture; next, based on the probability density distribution function and the orientations of the enhanced images, the noise suppression function and the orientation-filtering function are designed to filter out the noise to highlight the texture. Finally, the Fourier Maximum Angle Analysis (FMAA) is used to filter out the noise further and obtain the clear orientations to achieve the measurement of velocity and discharge. The experimental results show that, compared with the widely used image velocimetry measurements, the accuracy of our method in the average velocity and flow discharge is significantly improved, and the real-time performance is excellent.

Анотація:
To address the issue of poor tracking accuracy and the low recognition rate for multiple small targets in infrared images caused by uneven image intensity, this paper proposes an accurate tracking algorithm based on optical flow estimation. The algorithm consists of several steps. Firstly, an infrared image subspace model is established. Secondly, a full convolutional network (FCN) is utilized for local double-threshold segmentation of the target image. Furthermore, a target observation model is established using SIR filtering particles. Lastly, a shift vector sum algorithm is employed to enhance the intensity of the infrared image at a certain time scale in accordance with the relationship between the pixel intensity and the temporal parameters of the detected image. Experimental results demonstrate that the multi-target tracking accuracy (MOTA) reaches 79.7% and that the inference speed frame per second (FPS) reaches 42.3. Moreover, the number of ID switches during tracking is 9.9% lower than that of the MOT algorithm, indicating high recognition of cluster small targets, stable tracking performance, and suitability for tracking weak small targets on the ground or in the air.

En 1991, Bytches With Problems (BWP), groupe de rap féminin hardcore, sort son unique album, The Bytches. Cet article se propose d’analyser les « politiques Chiennes » à l’oeuvre dans cet album. Il s’agit d’examiner comment des rappeuses ont investi un genre éminemment masculin, le gangsta-rap, et ont performé une image de féminité hors norme, celle de la « Chienne » (Bitch). En rejouant l’injure « chienne », en vidant ce mot de son pouvoir de blesser et en le dotant d’attributs « capacitants », les rappeuses ont donné à entendre un discours singulier et subversif dans le rap.

Tracking body parts in behaving animals, extracting fluorescence signals from cells embedded in deforming tissue, and analyzing cell migration patterns during development all require tracking objects with partially correlated motion. As dataset sizes increase, manual tracking of objects becomes prohibitively inefficient and slow, necessitating automated and semi-automated computational tools. Unfortunately, existing methods for multiple object tracking (MOT) are either developed for specific datasets and hence do not generalize well to other datasets, or require large amounts of training data that are not readily available. This is further exacerbated when tracking fluorescent sources in moving and deforming tissues, where the lack of unique features and sparsely populated images create a challenging environment, especially for modern deep learning techniques. By leveraging technology recently developed for spatial transformer networks, we propose ZephIR, an image registration framework for semi-supervised MOT in 2D and 3D videos. ZephIR can generalize to a wide range of biological systems by incorporating adjustable parameters that encode spatial (sparsity, texture, rigidity) and temporal priors of a given data class. We demonstrate the accuracy and versatility of our approach in a variety of applications, including tracking the body parts of a behaving mouse and neurons in the brain of a freely moving C. elegans. We provide an open-source package along with a web-based graphical user interface that allows users to provide small numbers of annotations to interactively improve tracking results.

Multi-object tracking (MOT) in video sequences remains a challenging task, especially in scenarios with significant camera movements. This is because targets can drift considerably on the image plane, leading to erroneous tracking outcomes. Addressing such challenges typically requires supplementary appearance cues or Camera Motion Compensation (CMC). While these strategies are effective, they also introduce a considerable computational burden, posing challenges for real-time MOT. In response to this, we introduce UCMCTrack, a novel motion model-based tracker robust to camera movements. Unlike conventional CMC that computes compensation parameters frame-by-frame, UCMCTrack consistently applies the same compensation parameters throughout a video sequence. It employs a Kalman filter on the ground plane and introduces the Mapped Mahalanobis Distance (MMD) as an alternative to the traditional Intersection over Union (IoU) distance measure. By leveraging projected probability distributions on the ground plane, our approach efficiently captures motion patterns and adeptly manages uncertainties introduced by homography projections. Remarkably, UCMCTrack, relying solely on motion cues, achieves state-of-the-art performance across a variety of challenging datasets, including MOT17, MOT20, DanceTrack and KITTI. RÉSUMÉ La tradition descriptive du wolof admet généralement que les constructions telles que l’inversif, l’inchoatif, le causatif, la nominalisation, etc. sont obtenues en adjoignant un suffixe à un radical. Or, un tel modèle morphologique basée sur le mot, implique le recours à un catalogue de règles phonologiques qui ne sont pas évidentes dans la grammaire du wolof. Notre propos consiste à démontrer que le système morphologique du wolof accorde plus d’importance au squelette-CV qu’à une trame phonétique. L’analyse proposée permet donc d’éliminer un certain nombre de paradoxes découlant de la conception habituelle de la morphologie du wolof, et d’en proposer une image moins complexe, mais plus cohérente.

I artikkelen analyseres og sammenliknes nordiske statsministeres bruk av profilbilder som politisk retorikk. Bildenes visuelle elementer drøftes i lys av politikernes partitilhørighet, kjønn, politiske situasjon og kultur. Deretter drøftes profilbildenes retoriske potensial opp mot det som i forskningslitteraturen fremheves som ti sentrale funksjoner ved bilder som politisk kommunikasjon: Bilder dokumenterer, argumenterer, dramatiserer politikk, setter dagsorden, bidrar til politisk anvendelig ambivalens, bygger en politikers image, inngir følelser, skaper identifikasjon/nærhet, etablerer forbindelser til samfunnsmessige symboler og forflytter sine mottakere i tid og rom. Mindre oppmerksomhet har det vært om hvordan profilbilder fungerer kompenserende, som “motbilder” til det man ellers forventer seg av en politiker. I artikkelen løftes denne motbildefunksjonen spesielt frem.

In this paper, a person tracking algorithm for indoor video surveillance is presented. The algorithm contains the following steps: person detection, person features formation, features similarity calculation for the detected objects, postprocessing, person indexing, and person visibility determination in the current frame. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) YOLO v3 is used for person detection. Person features are formed based on H channel in HSV color space histograms and a modified CNN ResNet. The proposed architecture includes 29 convolutional and one fully connected layer. As the output, it forms a 128-feature vector for every input image. CNN model was trained to perform feature extraction. Experiments were conducted using MOT methodology on stable camera videos in indoor environment. Main characteristics of the presented algorithm are calculated and discussed, confirming its effectiveness in comparison with the current approaches for person tracking in an indoor environment. Our algorithm performs real time processing for object detection and tracking using CUDA technology and a graphics card NVIDIA GTX 1060.

The audiovisual text constitutes an inherent and obvious whole, the components of which, being linked to each other and entering into different types of relations and interactions, contribute to the construction of its meaning. This article presents a study of cases where visual information influences decisions made by the translator and ultimately sometimes changes the translation of dubbed dialogues. In the analysis, the following examples are distinguished:– those in which, under the influence of the image, the translator modifies the source text (compared to the original version) by adapting it to the visual contents of the audiovisual document, or by adding information to the target text;– one in which, under the influence of the image, both the author of the original version and the translator modify one of the elements of a given idiomatic expression.In this regard, contemporary computer-animated films (such as « Shrek 2 », « Madagascar » and « Monsters, Inc. »), aimed at all types of audiences and translated for dubbing, where the visual component plays a prominent role, represent interesting cases.

Les rencontres faites avec les personnes transidentitaires ont provoqué un véritable renversement pratique et théorique. Ces renversements ont dépassé la question transidentitaire pour penser autrement l’abord psychanalytique des problématiques humaines et aboutir à la construction d’une psychanalyse nouvelle, la psychanalyse sociale. Cette dernière se distingue de la psychanalyse classique en partant d’une autre base : la base de la vie sociale qui est transférentielle. Dans ce contexte de vie sociale transférentielle, la référence à l’œuvre de Marx est utilisée et permet une analyse des expériences de vies transidentitaires à partir des concepts de transfert social et de transfert de valeurs. La logique de la dynamique transidentitaire est centrée sur la valeur de genre qui fait vivre et la reconnaissance par les autres de cette valeur. Le nouage entre les éléments fondamentaux de l’identité, « mot-image-corps », et la privation, pris dans la vie sociale transférentielle donne les repères logiques permettant une intelligibilité des problématiques. Un exemple concret est analysé à travers le commentaire d’un film vietnamien portant sur la transidentité Finding Phong .

Cet article montre que si la fiction québécoise réussit à franchir les frontières linguistiques et culturelles et à se créer un espace de réception dans les champs littéraires espagnol et catalan – et ce malgré les nombreux obstacles à la diffusion d’une littérature minoritaire – c’est grâce à l’action d’acteurs institutionnels associés au gouvernement fédéral canadien et au gouvernement provincial québécois. Un tel investissement est motivé par le fait que la traduction littéraire est considérée comme un outil au service de la diplomatie culturelle qui sert à construire une « image de marque » positive du Canada et du Québec à l’étranger, une image qui les rendrait compétitifs sur la scène internationale. Or, une fois hors de la portée des réseaux institutionnels, les textes sélectionnés pour être traduits entrent dans les réseaux des espaces cibles où ils se voient recontextualisés. Dans ce nouveau contexte, ils ne pourront pas échapper à leur resémantisation axio-idéologique par les agents issus des champs cibles, une resémantisation qui peut d’ailleurs être loin des représentations du Canada ou du Québec voulues par les acteurs institutionnels qui avaient encouragé le transfert littéraire. Ainsi, cet article dégage la portée, mais également les limites de l’action de ces acteurs institutionnels, ainsi que les rapports ambivalents qui s’établissent entre eux et les agents appartenant au champ littéraire, notamment les éditeurs québécois, mais aussi les éditeurs espagnols et catalans, qui ont le dernier mot en ce qui concerne la sélection des oeuvres à traduire.

C’est vers ce mutisme et cette résistance que Nathalie Sarraute procède, péniblement, à écrire son récit d’enfance, « une enfance qui n’est pas un âge de la vie et qui ne passe pas. Elle hante le discours » (Lyotard). C’est un discours rapporté par la voix narratrice. L’enfance de « Natacha » est déjà tortillée, déchirée, donc loin de cette image de « pureté », d’« innocence » ; la narration de cette enfance devient ainsi plurielle, ramifiée, morcelée. D’où les repentirs : d’une part, le sentiment d’impuissance, d’échec, de culpabilité ; d’autre part, dans la terminologie de peinture, ce mot désigne « changement apporté, correction faite en cours d’exécution », donc entreprise toujours à reprendre, à repenser, à corriger et à défaire. L’écriture, en devenir, en mouvement, en transformation, laisse voir sa texture, son processus. Le procédé du repentir est souvent opéré par cette seconde voix dérangeante. Mais le mot post-art désigne, par son préfixe, un moment après l’art qui n’est pas encore absolument émancipé de l’art. L’écart du post-art vis-à-vis de l’art est son écart à partir de l’art. En même temps, si les valeurs du post-art sont encore les valeurs de l’art, c’est dans un contexte idéologique où la valeur de l’art en général est désormais tenue pour désuète, voire aliénante. There has been very limited use of computer assisted semen analysis (CASA) to evaluate reptile sperm. The aim of this study was to examine sperm kinematic variables in American crocodile (Crocodylus acutus) semen samples and to assess whether sperm subpopulations could be characterized. Eight ejaculates (two ejaculates/male) from four sexually mature captive crocodiles were obtained. An ISAS®v1 CASA-Mot system, with an image acquisition rate of 50 Hz, and ISAS®D4C20 counting chambers were used for sperm analyses. The percentages of motile and progressively motile spermatozoa did not differ among animals (P > 0.05) but there was a significant animal effect with regards to kinematic variables (P < 0.05). Principal component (PC) analysis revealed that kinematic variables grouped into three components: PC1, related to velocity; PC2 to progressiveness and PC3 to oscillation. Subpopulation structure analysis identified four groups (P < 0.05), which represented, on average, 9.8%, 32.1%, 26.8%, and 31.3% of the total sperm population. Males differed in the proportion of sperm in each of the kinematic subpopulations. This new approach for the analysis of reptile sperm kinematic subpopulations, reflecting quantifiable parameters generated by CASA system technology, opens up possibilities for future assessments of crocodile sperm and will be useful in the future development of assisted reproduction for these species.

"L’objectivité et la subjectivité dans l’herméneutique phénoménolo¬gique de Paul Ricœur : la question de la méthodologie de la recherche théolo¬gique interdisciplinaire. L’article propose un bref aperçu de la méthodologie du philosophe français Paul Ricœur dans le contexte de la recherche théologique. Cette méthodologie donne l’occasion d’explorer l’expérience humaine dans le discours scientifique. L’herméneutique phénoménologique élargit les horizons de la méthodologie habituelle et montre la relation entre subjectif et objectif, immanent et transcendantal dans l’expérience humaine. L’article souligne l’importance de catégories clés telles que l’Autre, la confiance, l’humilité d’un chercheur, etc., qui constituent un outil indispensable pour étudier des textes sur l’expérience existentielle, religieuse et critique de l’homme dans le discours scientifique des études humanitaires. La relation de confiance avec l’Autre devient la clé de la recherche théologique, puisque Dieu en tant qu’Autre, selon le message de l’apôtre Jean, est reconnu par l’amour pour le prochain (1 John 4: 20-21). Aimer Dieu est la première tâche d’un théologien, l’Autre est le chemin de cet amour. Les exemples tirés de l’herméneutique phénoménologique de Paul Ricœur révèlent un lien logique entre la compréhension de l’autre et la compréhension de soi. Il est enfin souligné que l’expérience de chaque personne est une expérience mystérieuse consistant à se transcender au-delà de soi-même. Il s’agit d’une tentative sans fin pour se rapprocher de la véritable image de Dieu. Quand Roland Barthes découvre un signifiant disponible, « idiorrythmie », la question se pose de savoir s’il investit ce dernier d’une charge fantasmatique absolument personnelle ou si, au contraire, le mot idiorrythmie ne produit pas de lui-même les conditions du fantasme en question. L’analyse de cette tension suppose de distinguer nettement le mouvement du fantasme propre à l’auteur, mouvement dont le rapport avec la parole est problématique, de la logique du concept, ou de la signification, qui s’impose de l’extérieur au fantasme. Que les deux – mouvement du fantasme, logique du concept – puissent se rejoindre, c’est tout l’enjeu du Cours au collège de France de 1976-1977. Or, si le fantasme de Barthes est étrange, puisqu’il prétend associer l’idiorrythmie à la solitude, le concept est lui-même contradictoire, car ce dernier cherche à lier la communication au contournement de l’empire du langage. Dès lors, bien que le fantasme, pour être effectif, doive être une « image mise en fonction dans la structure signifiante » (Lacan), il lui faudra peut-être plutôt, à moins de passer à côté de sa réalisation, s’éteindre dans le silence. Pour parvenir ainsi à une clarification de la notion d’idiorrythmie dans son rapport au fantasme, il faudra faire appel non seulement au texte de Barthes, mais également à la psychanalyse (pour la décomposition du mouvement du fantasme) et à la philosophie (préoccupée depuis longtemps par le problème de la « vie en commun »).

Анотація:
During Middle Ages sermons were a territory of negotiations between the oral and the written word. Additionally, the visual element came to support both the preaching event and the homiletic literature. This already complex equation was complicated even more by the media change that occurred in the mid-fifteenth century. The present paper addresses precisely the printed sermon collections, in order to examine the presence, nature and function of the illustration in the respective works. The analysis stretches up to the middle of the 16th century, when the wind of change brought by Reformation transformed the content and the functions attributed to images. At this point, I only assume the task of formulating some premises and general observations, starting from several examples that provide interesting suggestions regarding the mentioned issues.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish the effect of integrated ticketing on sustainable mobility in the Matatu Saccos in Nairobi County, Kenya. Materials and Methods: The study was guided by Positivism philosophy while descriptive research design was adopted. The target population was 177 Sacco Managers and two representatives, one from MOT and other from MVOA respectively. The whole population of 179 respondents was used in the study hence; the study employed the census approach. The questionnaire was pilot tested on 18 respondents who were selected randomly. The study applied Cronbach's alpha and the results displayed a high level of internal consistency hence infers that the research tool used in the study was reliable. The data collection instrument was a semi-structured questionnaire, which were dropped and picked later. A semi-structured interview guide was also used. Data was analysed using descriptive and SPSS Version 24. Results: Correlation analysis indicates that there is a strong positive and significant relationship between integrated ticketing and sustainable mobility of Matatu Sacco in Nairobi County. (rho = 0.809, p value <0.05). Regression analysis also showed that in general, integrated ticketing is significant in explaining the variation in sustainable mobility of Matatu Sacco’s in Nairobi County, Kenya (β = 1.046, t = 15.872, p<0.05). Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: The study recommended that, the Ministry of Transport and the management of the Saccos should formulate substantial policies on how to handle ticketing where the government imposes control of fares. This ensures that there is functional guidance on charging the passengers, which would, in turn, improve customer satisfaction and improve company image.

The ejaculate is heterogenous and sperm sub-populations with different kinematic patterns can be identified in various species. Nevertheless, although these sub-populations are statistically well defined, the statistical differences are not always relevant. The aim of the present study was to characterize kinematic sub-populations in sperm from two bovine species, and diluted with different commercial extenders, and to determine the statistical relevance of sub-populations through Bayesian analysis. Semen from 10 bulls was evaluated after thawing. An ISAS®v1 computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA)-Mot system was employed with an image acquisition rate of 50 Hz and ISAS®D4C20 counting chambers. Sub-populations of motile spermatozoa were characterized using multivariate procedures such as principal components (PCs) analysis and clustering methods (k-means model). Four different sperm sub-populations were identified from three PCs that involved progressiveness, velocity, and cell undulatory movement. The proportions of the different sperm sub-populations varied with the extender used and in the two species. Despite a statistical difference (p < 0.05) between extenders, the Bayesian analysis confirmed that only one of them (Triladyl®) presented relevant differences in kinematic patterns when compared with Tris-EY and OptiXcell®. Extenders differed in the proportion of sperm cells in each of the kinematic sub-populations. Similar patterns were identified in Bos taurus and Bos indicus. Bayesian results indicate that sub-populations SP1, SP2, and SP3 were different for PC criteria and these differences were relevant. For velocity, linearity, and progressiveness, the SP4 did not show a relevant difference regarding the other sperm sub-populations. The classical approach of clustering or sperm subpopulation thus may not have a direct biological meaning. Therefore, the biological relevance of sperm sub-populations needs to be reevaluated.
