Повний текст джерелаThe purpose of this thesis is to study the effect of resins at the IML module (technology brought up by Valeo car supplier company), in the packaging of a mechatronic module with respect to its reliability under thermal cycling stress. This work consists of two complementary parts: the first part allows one to perform a macroscopic study in terms of volume through simulation of thermal effects in the module by using COMSOL software based on Finite Elements Method while the second part is devoted to the experimental study at interfaces at the microscopic level by ellipsometry technique. The simulation performed to determine the effect of the resin on the transport of heat in the module allows one to show that the presence of the polymer in the packaging tend to limit lateral temperature gradient which quench the mechanical stress of the chip on its support and the interconnexion material. The experimental study was performed in two steps: the characterization by ATG, ATR/FTIR and Brillouin scattering techniques, on the one hand, of the polymer alone and on the other hand, when it is in contact of different substrates (Si, CuNi, Al) characteristic of principal interfaces encountered in the module. Resistance to temperature rise has been quantified and a classification established by ATG technique. The presence of CO2 in the polymers has been evidenced by ATR and ellipsometry in the NIR and MIR. Particularly, it has been observed that a soft thermal stress coupled to a humid environment tend to increase the CO2 content in the polymers with the result that an increase in the volume of the polymer is expected, which may impact on its permeability as well as on its elastic properties as observed by the way by Brillouin scattering. A substrate-polymer interaction has been evidenced by ellipsometry on silicium and an interpreted in terms of siloxane bonding. Cu-Ni and Al substrates dont modify the polymers but in a humid atmosphere, on may note that temperature cycling results in modification of the optical properties of the polymers which are in contact with both substrates from the variation of their optical constants which is more important for Al than for Cu-Ni

Повний текст джерелаIn this work, we were interested in the development of mechatronic power module adapted to new needs and standards of the automotive industry in the context of the impact of climate issues and globalization on the industrial approach. We have focused our research on new materials in the form of nano silver grains and processes developed by sintering under pressure in a process of radical innovation as opposed to incremental innovation. Three techniques of sintering powders of silver have been explored as a method to connect two metal substrates: the sintering of the powder by SPS by HIP and hot press (HP). The structural properties of the sintered material as a function of the sintering parameters (temperature, pressure and duration) were studied by SEM, EBSD, XRD and by densitometry. The results on the microstructural and morphological properties of the sintered material such as density, size and crystallographic orientation of the grains have led to the choice of the SPS as the best joining technique. The thermal and electrical conductivity of the sintered material, determined by conventional methods (Van Der Pauw and Laser Flash) or developed at UVSQ (ellipsometry), allowed us to characterize the sintered samples. The values of these transport properties were used to compare the behavior of the sintered silver to that of Pb92, 5Sn5Ag2,5 used as interconnect material in a preliminary study by modeling and simulation using the finite element method of COMSOL software. The results obtained showed that sintered silver maintains a lower temperature at the chip and is expected to better minimize the impact of those thermal effects and thus improve reliability of power mechatronics modules

Повний текст джерелаThe work presented here constitutes an outline of the studies necessary to develop a new autonomous microrobot constituted by five identical locomotion modules, to inspect industrial tubes of diameter lower than 15 mm. Our efforts focused on the study, the manufacture and the development of the locomotion module. This original-designed actuator is constituted by a postbuckled frame, presenting two states of stable equilibrium, and whose rock up from one state to the other is controlled by Shape Memory Alloy wires. A theoretical study and a static finite elements postbuckling model helped us to make sizing choices. Mechanical characterization tests carried out on a higher scale prototype have permitted to adjust educated SMA wires, controlled by Joule effect. Checking of SMA transformation by the measurement of their electric resistance is being evoked. An experimental study of the contact behavior allows us to evaluate the embarked load by the future microrobot inside a vertical tube

Повний текст джерелаThe context of this PhD thesis is the modeling and design of mechatronic systems. The study is positioned in the early design stage of the conception cycle (V-Cycle), where the main efforts have to be produced in terms of methodology, to enhance the quality and the functionality of the products, and based on virtual prototyping (modeling and simulation). One of the possible methodology is to reformulate the design problem as an inverse problem, in order to directly use the design specification of the product, usually given in terms of the system outputs, and then solve the design problem. In this context, the Ampere laboratory of INSA Lyon has developed a conception and design methodology, based on inverse approach and using the bond graph formalism, to propose a step-by-step method based on dynamic and energetic criteria, with a structural analysis phase that allows hierarchical analysis steps, depending on the structural physical layout of the model (topological, phenomenological, parameter set). The aim of the present works is to contribute to the development of this methodology, by enhancing it to the class of descriptor systems. This choice is led by the aim to apply the methodology in the context of chassis design and vehicle dynamics, where, among other, multi-body models represented as a differential-algebraic equation (DAE) system could occur. The contributions are proposed at the level of the topology of the model, as well as at the level of the phenomenological / behavioral aspects. A preliminary step is to enhance the existing algebraic framework to support graphical extension (in term of digraph and bond graph). The overall methodological extensions allow, firstly, a generalization of the approach to the class of descriptor systems, and, secondly, to reach a standardization of the procedures, previously dedicated to direct or inverse models, so as no mandatory differences between those models have to be done anymore

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis deals with the problem of off-board diagnosis in the automotive domain. The work has consisted in proposing and implementing an operational model based approach that determines the best sequences of tests to be performed by the garage mechanic to localise a faulty component on a vehicle. A multi-model approach is proposed for the description of mechatronic systems, which allows us to handle the functional complexity of embedded systems and to match functional symptoms with a set of faults on hardware / software components. The test sequencing problem is approached along a next best test strategy based on a local heuristic. This strategy enables an interactive diagnostic session, allowing more flexibility and leaving with the human operator the initiative to accept or reject the proposed test. A software prototype has been developed and tested on the rear wiper system of real vehicles. This thesis, supported by a CIFRE grant, is the result of collaboration between the company ACTIA and the research center LAAS-CNRS in the framework of the common laboratory Autodiag (LAAS, IRIT, ACTIA) which aims at developing new methods for diagnosis in the automotive domain

Повний текст джерелаIn automotive applications, the thermal dissipation of power electronics modules in mechatronic products is constantly increasing, whereas these products are confined in increasingly reduced volumes. During their operation, the semiconductor components and their environment are then submitted to severe electro-thermo-mechanical stresses that could cause their damage and lead to the product failure. The reliability and lifetime prevision of such products depend on the temperature junction located at the chip of power components. Furthermore, in order to ensure the safe operation of embedded applications, it is essential to perform a real-time control of thermal parameters such as the junction temperatures and power dissipated on the power components, in addition to the electrical and mechanical parameters. The objective of this thesis is to develop an identification method aimed at producing reduced thermal models to estimate the thermal behaviour of power electronic modules. Designed in a non-intrusive framework, this method post-processes the input data and the results produced by the numerical simulation of a detailed of the system under study. In this thesis, a new identification method, called "Kernel Identification Method" is developed. It has been validated on an industrial application dealing with a thermally coupled solid / fluid problem mainly governed by forced convection. An exploratory study of nonlinear problems identification where the natural convection plays the dominant role is then proposed. To this end, two identification methods of nonparametric nature are proposed: (i) a method based on the extension of the Kernel Identification Method; and (ii) a second method based on the "unscented" variant of the Kalman filter

Повний текст джерелаMechatronic systems are widely used in physical rehabilitation of various pathologies, especially of the knee joint, because of their multiple benefits. Although the literature notes a variety of such kind of systems, we can say that, they still have many technical problems and deficiencies and currently there is no device which is able to fully satisfy the need of patient recovery. In this context, the general objective of this thesis was focused on researching, designing and implementing an original mechatronic rehabilitation of the knee joint. The developed system is intended for all social groups and is a modern alternative to traditional medical rehabilitation. The rehabilitation mechatronic system was implemented as an original solution, integrated, efficient and effective, and offers some technical solutions for all the reported problems of the currently medical recovery mechatronic systems. The system’s originality is highlighted by the following key features: design; applications; personalized treatment to each patient; methods of command and control; communication protocols with feedback from the patient; safety requirements for the patient interaction with the mechatronic system, simplicity and portability. The experimental results achieved during the tests on healthy subjects and patients show: best results are obtained concerning the movement, joint recovery, quality of therapy and patient safety; the system provides the most effective treatment for the knee joint recovery and it is able to ensure, in addition, the functional rehabilitation of the other joints of the lower limb (hip and ankle); applies a closed loop technique recovery: diagnosis - treatment - feedback from the patient; allows a real time recuperative progress recording of the patient and also a database that stores the patient’s evolution; can successively recover the both legs; the mechatronic system evaluates the patient's recovery based on joint angular positions changes and the normal and tangential forces developed during the interaction between the human foot and recovery system; the obtained values of the normal and tangential forces can highlight the disease’s gravity and the rehabilitation progress; the values of normal and tangential forces can be used to calculate the total moment developed in the knee joint, but can also provide valuable information about knee instability; the mechatronic system reduces the patient's medical recovery and accelerates considerably its healing

These new methods are linked with the Product Life Cycle which can be described by: Predictive Reliability, Experimental Reliability and Operational Reliability. Three problematics are exposed : 1. How can we judge the severity of a failure observed in aggraved test HALT? An equivalent fatigue damage approach is used and realized on concrete case of converter/inverter. 2. How can we take into account the variability of the material and the environment in the Arrhenius’ model ? Three statistical models are built and used on a mechatronic sensor in climatic test. 3. Thanks Financial data of warranty cost, how can we estimate the system reliability performance ? Two new probabilistic models are introduced and applied on concrete warranty returns

Повний текст джерелаThis PhD. applies in the field of robotics for building inspection. Buildings are understood here as huge constructions such as bridges or churches. Using photogrammetry to analyses the structure of these kind of buildings is nowadays a common technique. To extend the analysis methodologies, we propose in this document to imagine a way to bring tools directly in contact with the buildings. Multiple solution possibilities are presented for a final choice. The chosen solution consists of designing a drone able to tilt its arms to bring the building inspection tool directly onto the wall of the construction. This leads to a double challenge. Firstly, the mechanical part of designing such a complex and non-common drone. Secondly, the development and real time testing of the control algorithm. Eventually, this manuscript proposes to use a particular software architecture joining fast experimentations and validation of the control laws. This platform being very versatile, it is also possible to consider re-using it for different applications in future works. The experimentations reveal good results, promoting the usage of the drone as a carrying vector to bring the tools onto the construction

Повний текст джерелаMechatronic system is considered as a synergetic combination of mechanical engineering, electronic engineering and computer engineering. Such mechatronic system has its own lifecycle and should integrate different disciplines and various technologies. Therefore the design of mechatronic systems becomes increasing complex. In order to propose an approach to achieve a better functional and spatial integration of mechatronic systems, especially to achieve a higher integration of different disciplines during the design process of mechatronic systems, two kinds of problems must be overcome. The first problem is related to design data of mechatronic systems while the second is related to the design process. The contribution of the thesis is based on two complementary concepts. The first contribution, the multi-disciplinary interface model, is proposed to address the issue of design data. These interfaces are based on the system architecture and specify which transfers exist between components designed by the project teams of different disciplines. Instantiated in the data model, multi-disciplinary interfaces enables a better data exchange and sharing among the engineers of different disciplines. The second concept concerns the design method based on the multi-disciplinary interface model. This method is proposed to establish the process for mechatronic engineering in order to achieve a better multi-disciplinary integration for the design of mechatronic systems. Finally, the two propositions are then implemented in a demonstrator developed based on 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. A 3D measurement system, considered as a synergistic combination of mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, computer engineering and optical engineering, is used to demonstrate and validate the propositions of the thesis in terms of multi-disciplinary integration for the design of mechatronic systems

Повний текст джерелаThe new mechatronic technologies can significantly reduce the energy consumption and gas emissions of personal cars, by introducing rupture innovations in electrified powertrains complementarily or alternatively to combustion engines. The power electronics assemblies used in starter-alternator systems use solder joints which need to be substituted with lead-free solder in agreements with international standards. This thesis contributes to the metallurgical and mechanical characterization of two tin-based lead-free solder joints. These joints are produced industrially with a Die Laser Soldering process which leads to heterogeneous solidification microstructures, poorly reproducible, multiphased, and with defects. The objective of this thesis is to provide a better understanding of the solder joints lifetime during thermomechanical aging. Thermal aging generates stresses and plastic deformation due to the mismatch in the coefficients of thermal expansion between the different layers of the assemblies. Isotropic constitutive laws were identified from an experimental database of tensile tests on bulk specimens. Those constitutive laws were used in finite element simulations in order to assess the negative effect of the solder joint porosity, inherent flaw traced back to the soldering process. Aging tests coupled with observations of the microstructure evolution have shown the influence of tin grains orientation on crack initiation. The heterogeneity of the microstructure prevents us from proposing a representative volume element of the materials. An inverse method has been implemented in parallel with the development of an in situ bending test bench under a profilometer in order to build the first steps for the mechanical characterization of industrial solder joints

Повний текст джерелаIn today's market, obtaining a variety of products through configuration design has become increasingly common. However, with the development of the market, customers have not only satisfied the company offering a variety of products, and more demands on participating in the process of configuration design by themselves, so that they can obtain fully personalized products. Customer participation leads to the changes of design process, company's management model, etc. Based on the above problem, this thesis takes industrial robot as an example, and studies the management issues related to the customer involved in the design, in order to address the contradiction between product diversification, personalized requirements and the long design cycle and high manufacturing costs. Firstly, Auser-customized configuration design pattern is presented. The theory source of user-customized configuration design pattern is introduced, and then the related concepts are expounded. The corresponding business mode of user-customized configuration design pattern is given, and the key technologies to realize business mode is studied. System dynamics models were established for user-customized configuration design business mode and for traditional business mode of industrial robots by Anylogic simulation software. Secondly, the component-based theory and method are studied, including the formal description of things, ontology representation, componentization and servitization. On this basis, the componentization description model is established for the product parts. And the model is represented as service-component. Next, the formation process and extension method of service-component are introduced. An example of industrial robot components modeling is analyzed, includingestablishing industrial robot domain ontology by protégé, describing, instantiating and extensing components. Thirdly, the industrial robot user-customized configuration design template is constructed, and users can obtain the industrial robot meeting constraints through parameters setting; The kinematics and dynamics analysis on template is taken by Simscape model, and the dynamic parameters is analyzed, and the finite element analysis on template is taken by ANSYS, including statics analysis and modal analysis. The parameters flow process in template is analyzed. Then taking industrial robot user-customized configuration design using configuration template as an example, the configuration template is analyzed in application. Fourthly, the internal algorithm of user-customized configuration design is researched. Platform-based and user-leading user-customized configuration design process is constructed, and then the internal algorithm to keep the design running smoothly is studied, including the degree of freedom determination, fuzzy demand calculation, and service-component configuration and the configuration program evaluation. A case analysis is also taken for the internal algorithm Finally, on the basis of the previous section, the prototype system design of the open design platform is taken. Based on system requirements analysis and system design, the main pages of the platform are designed, and the key functions are introduced

Повний текст джерелаThe aim of this thesis is to bring a package of software tools included in a whole methodology dealing with mechatronic systems design. It comes as an add-on to the work already carried out at the laboratory in the field of the new generation of aircraft actuation systems: electromechanical actuators (EMA). This technology triggers new problematics leading the engineers to modify their development process as early as the specification phase, when mission profiles have to be generated/transformed/analyzed in order to simplify the design and ensure the validation step. Thus a Simulink toolbox has been created to meet the need for an information translator working as an intermediate between airframer and system-supplier. As for all the embedded systems, the designer has to face some performance-lifetime-integration trade-off, which can be considered as an optimization problem described by a set of equations and constraints. Particular attention is paid here to the conditioning of those explicit equations in order to obtain a standardized calculation sequence adapted to many optimization algorithms. The method and implemented software, both based on the graph theory, interact with the designer to inform him on the possible singularity and algebraic loop issues, providing some leads for their resolution. Finally, some preliminary sizing studies of landing gear and primary flight control surfaces (aileron and spoiler) actuation systems are presented to highlight the possibilities brought out by this innovative approach: integrated design with complex kinematics, collaborative multi-partners design, use of response surfaces to speed up the optimization
