Повний текст джерелаOn-line re-scheduling of trains aims to find accurate solutions after an incident has occurred on the railway network. When we consider a large area, solutions consist in calculating new timetables, sequences and routes of trains. This problem asks for decision support tools based on operational research techniques. This thesis aims to develop solutions toward an operational tool, it articulates around three main parts. The first part defines an exhaustive model of the railway system operations and a multiscalable description of the infrastructure. The second part presents three mathematical models of the rescheduling problem associated with this description. We preset a exhaustive continuous time based model including headways that take into account speeds of trains, plus a discrete time based model and an hybrid model combining both formulations. The last part describes first implementations and the global framework we need to develop in order to solve the real world problem. It emphases on expected synergies, specilaly between simulation and optimization techniques

Повний текст джерелаOver the last twenty years, public transport issues in the Paris region have become a major concern. The French national railway company, which operates most of the rail network in this region, plays a central role in the organisation of transport. However, in contrast to expectations in this sector, rail traffic is experiencing a number of malfunctions. As part of an overall approach to questioning the principles of rail operation in dense areas, this thesis provides a new look at the origin of delays affecting trains. Drawing on road traffic tools and in particular the basic network diagram, the basic railway line diagram is defined for railways, which makes it possible to represent the flow as a function of concentration on a portion of a railway line. This tool is then used to compare the results from our model with a set of data measured on two railway lines in the Paris region, which shows that our model can qualitatively reproduce the traffic congestion phenomena observed on real cases.(Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator)

Повний текст джерелаThe design of a railway transportation plan is a process achieved between two years and six months before it is put into service. The main phases in the design of a transportation plan are the line planning, the timetabling, the rolling stock and the crew scheduling. The design of the transportation plan can have many consequences on the quality of service: an inadequate frequency in station can cause a loss of passengers, sufficient number of seated places, robustness of the timetable in the face of small incidents... In dense area, as in the Ile-de-France region, all these elements must be taken into account as the transportation plan is designed.Today, SNCF Transilien designs its transportation plans by first taking into account the optimization of production resources (train paths, rolling stock units and drivers). However, today, the increase in resources implemented no longer improves the adequacy of the transportation plan to passengers’ demand. This design method no longer makes it possible to cope with the increase in the demand for mobility (+3% each year since 2000). This is why we must rethink the design of the transport plan by immediately integrating the passenger dimension. Our work focuses on issues of line planning and timetabling in a passenger-oriented approach. First, we present a multi-objective model for line planning. Then, we present a model of timetabling incorporating passenger route choice. Then, we initiate a method to integrate these two models. Finally, we present an evaluation of our results thanks to reliability indicators from the literature and a macroscopic simulation of the timetables

Повний текст джерелаThe current thesis takes place in the framework of fine 1 automation project. It is a project that consists of upgrading fine 1 (with drivers on-board) to unattended train operation (no drivers or agents on-board) without service interruption. It results a mixed fleet operation for a period of two years between manually driven trains and driverless ones. In this context, my research work consists of continuing in a first step the development of software destined to study and analyse the mixed fleet operation on fine 1. Once operational; the model has served as a simulation in two case studies that I elaborate in a second step. These two case studies aim to answer problematical matters affecting the management of the mixed trains running inside the terminal stations. They take into account two opposite constraints: people-staff safety on one hand and quality of service offered to passengers on the other hand. The analysis and the results of these two case studies will be described in the current PhD report

Повний текст джерелаThe reliability control of critical electronic components is one of the challenges to be faced by railway stakeholders. IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors) power modules belong to this list of components. They are subject to high stresses corresponding to those encountered in harsh railway environments. The environmental conditions encountered in rail operations and the demanding availability requirements impose high levels of reliability on IGBT. In order to improve their reliability, an evaluation methodology has been developed based on a probabilistic approach and supported by a Bayesian network. For the implementation of the model, several working elements were assembled. First, an original approach called "U-Cycle" was proposed, highlighting in a one-to-one way a system level associated with the train and a component level similar to the IGBT considered simultaneously according to functional and dysfunctional views. In this context, the work led, first, to highlight the mechanisms characterizing, in a top-down logic, the influence of train loading on component stress and, in a bottom-up logic, the dysfunctional impact of the failure at component level on system reliability. In a second step, the results of this analysis led to the implementation of the structure of a Bayesian model whose generic nature allows it to be deployed for the reliable modelling of any type of rail system. The modelling work based on Bayesian networks is used to support the reconciliation between analytical models (failure physics) and data from the use of the elementary component in its operating environment. The model was used to model the reliability of an IGBT in an application framework corresponding to the metro in the city of Chennai, India. The data and expert knowledge collected on the project made it possible to determine the probability tables of the Bayesian network. The probabilistic results of the model have been translated into reliability indicators

Повний текст джерелаPublic transport management is currently going through important changes, passing from one scale to another: decentralizing from the national level and extending at the local level. The range of transport management powers of the French administrative regions have widened, thus creating new management problems. Within the context of these new questions, our research proposes management solutions which take into account both the continual evolution of daily mobility and the new scales of transport management. More specifically, we considered a specific stage often neglected in geographical approaches to the suject. This stage called traffic generation consists in modelling the process of choice at the point origin of an individual journey. So far, the way that these questions have been treated using transport economy methods has obscured an important stage in the conception of traffic generation, the geographical stage. This stage relates to the zoning of the study area which constrains trip generation. We propose here to carry out the complete modelling of the traffic generation stage in the Franche-Comté region. This includes the understanding and the delimitation of our study area. Other results are the creation of a relevant zoning system in relation to management issues, in order to produce a final assessment of trip generation for the zoning system

Повний текст джерелаThe aim of the doctoral thesis is to contribute on the developpement of real-time traffic control algorithms for mass transit railway systems with junctions, located in urban areas. The scientific ambition of the doctoral thesis is to develop a traffic model with a finer modelisation of the train-passengers interaction. The model will allow a more precise evaluation of the level of service offered to the passengers and of the decisions taken by the operator of the line. Basing on this modeling, we will develop a control algorithm (strategic/ tactical and operational) in order to enhance the service quality on the line. The objective of the Paris metro system operator, financing this thesis, is to have a ready-to-implement control system for a railway line with a junction

Повний текст джерелаThis project aims at an optimization of geostructural modeling methodolgies, leading to a better knowledge and a better management of the rock risk impacting the railway system. Acquired 3D models are exploited in order ton convert 3D point clouds into geostructural analysis. Hence, we have developed a semi-automatic process that allows 3D models to be combined with the results of field surveys in order to provide more precise analyses of rock faces, for example, by classifying rock discontinuities into subsets according to their orientation. A second approach is proposed, combining both 3D point clouds (from LiDAR or image matching) and 2D digital images. Combining these high-quality data with the proposed automatic and manual processing method greatly improves the geometrical analysis of rock faces, increases the reliability of structural interpretations, and enables reinforcement procedures to be optimized

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis focuses on the definition and the validation of a crowd-simulation modeling method. This method allows transferring principles and measurements established in a source observation context to a target one. From the observation of pedestrian behavior in a social and urban context, our approach infers rules and motivations in order to model and simulate the individual pedestrian behavior in this source context. This allows, in a second step, to evaluate the transferability of the model to a given target context. Our work is based on a real case: the simulation of the passenger’s behavior while boarding and alighting trains (platform-train exchange) in a high-traffic station (dense situation). Starting from the state of the art of theories, models and types of simulation, we choose an approach based on the microscopic simulation of social agent’s motivation. This choice relies mainly on the fact that, compared to a classic crowd simulation, it has, a priori, a better transferability potential. The goal of this type of simulation is to study the architectural evolutions of the stations that could allow to control or shorten train dwell times

Повний текст джерелаIn railway systems, during congested traffic situations, the infrastructure capacity is completely exploited for trains circulation. In these situations, when traffic is perturbed some trains must be stopped or slowed down for ensuring safety, and delays occur. The real-time Railway Traffic Management Problem (rtRTMP) is the problem of modifying trains route and schedule to limit delay propagation. In this thesis, we propose a Benders decomposition of a MILP-based algorithm for this problem, named RECIFE-MILP. After observing that the standard Benders decomposition (BD) does not allow the effective solution of rtRTMP instances, we study three possible approaches to improve the performance. Specifically, we first propose a modification of the problem reformulation which is typical of BD, obtaining what we call reduced BD. Then, we introduce some inequalities to the Benders master problem. Finally, we split the solution process in three steps rather than two as in the standard BD. As we show in a thorough experimental analysis, the combination of the first and last approaches outperforms the original RECIFE-MILP algorithm when tackling large instances with some specific features

A two-part methodology is proposed to address this problem. First, delay records are used to build models predicting probability distributions conditionnaly to a set of explanatory variables. A methodology to validate and evaluate these predictions is proposed to ensure their reliability for decision-making. As the train platforming problem can be seen as a weighted clique problem, these predicted distributions are used in a second part to add weights on edges to penalize risk of conflict. Local search algorithms are used and experiments show a significant decrease in conflicts

Повний текст джерелаIn order to simulate in a relevant way vehicular traffic on large road networks, an essential ingredient is using theoretical tools which allow for an adequate modelling of each component of the network. To achieve this goal, several modelling methods exist to date. However, due to some additional constraints, in particular those related to the development of the road networks infrastructures and the increasing concentration of traffic, the investigation of new modelling tools is necessary. In this work, we have introduced some methods and models, which enable a relevant description of the traffic on road networks, by taking into account its specificity through some particular components of the network such as intersections, highway on and off ramps, toll stations, etc…. The presented approaches are expected to be theoretically rigorous, numerically reliable, and computationally efficient. The first approach we have proposed concerns macroscopic models. It is based on the resolution of the Riemann problem whereas the flux at the junction is optimized. Thereafter we have extended this approach to macroscopic multiclass models. The second approach studied in this work is the hybrid modelling. First, we have proposed a hybrid model based on the classical Eulerian-Lagrangian coupling of the Aw & Rascle second order macroscopic model and a class of microscopic models. In a such hybrid model, the interfaces between the coupled models are fixed in eulerian coordinates. Thereby, the interfaces’ functioning is somehow complex and tedious to work out. In order to circumvent this problem, we have proposed a fully lagrangian coupling approach. The novelty of this new hybrid approach is that the interfaces are moving in lagrangian coordinates. This particular property makes the model much simpler than in the previous case and leads to a rigorous and easy computational model. Finally we have proposed a model describing the formation and evolution of traffic jams. This model is derived from the Aw & Rascle second order macroscopic model and based on a realistic formulation of clusters dynamics. We have analysed the solutions to the associated Riemann problem and we have proved the existence of solutions for this model

Повний текст джерелаThe limits of this model, according to a hypothetico-deductive process. The "axio-lateral" model proposed here decomposes in three parts. The first one is theoretical, seeing that the reality of a geographical settling of the railway line can finally be determined by an interaction combining l lengthwise, representing all the links brought by the line ; and n considered in a lateral way as all the harmful effects caused by this line. Then this interaction is developped on a mathematical ground. It reveals the multi-scalar contradiction of the impact of the settling following the observation scale which is the key element to understand the railway phenomenon. Finally, with a systematical approach, both notions of link and harmful effect have to be determined on a space-time ground before meeting in a concrete realization : the French TGV Mediterranee. During the application on the ground, the model seems to give results in three different fields. First, as far as the reality of the project is concerned, an established facts induces to insolate several "TGV Mediterranee", which present very different results for l n. Then the model enables to consider the multiplicity of the interpretations, seeing that the first tendency of the people involved in such settling is to see the plan according to their own interest, without considering the multiscalar reality of the railway, which implies difficult talks. The model appears then as a key element to understand this plan from a historical point of view, and to explain how the number of opponents can vary according to the different interpretations, as it can be proved by the diffusion's model of gould, and the "axio-lateral" model. In such conditions, the model gives different answers to try and reduce useless conflicts. Therefore, even if it is impossible to choose the ideal laying out, and difficult

Повний текст джерелаThis study concerns the analysis of electromagnetic compatibility in the railway environment in the low frequency range (50 Hz and harmonics). The objective is to improve the calculation of the perturbations provoked by the catenary –rails –soil system on the neighboring systems (communication, signalization, etc. ). The study also focuses on the analysis of the distribution of the electromagnetic fields generated by the catenary in a 1x25kV railway system and by a three-phase power line. To meet the above objective, models that permit to represent the implied physical phenomena, and that are based on analytical and numerical methods, are evaluated to enrich the present used software. Advantages and limitations of these methods are therefore underlined, according to the domain in which they can be applied. The importance of modeling the electric and geometric characteristics of the analyzed elements is thus emphasized in the nature of these phenomena. This allowed one to demonstrate that the geometry of the railway platform influences the system impedances, as well as the conduction and induction components of the rails’ current profile. Three-dimensional modeling allows therefore the prediction of stray currents in the soil, which are linked to volume current density in it. As a result, a high resistivity soil increases perturbations such as induced voltages. Contact voltages are also higher because of the level of rails’ current. The effect of soil’s resistivity on the distribution of electromagnetic fields in the air is also shown

Повний текст джерелаLa première partie de la thèse est sur le trafic 1D.

In this thesis we consider two coupled PDE-ODE models. One to model moving bottlenecks and theother one to describe traffic flow at junctions. First, we consider a strongly coupled PDE-ODE systemthat describes the influence of a slow and large vehicle on road traffic. The model consists of a scalarconservation law accounting for the main traffic evolution, while the trajectory of the slower vehicle isgiven by an ODE depending on the downstream traffic density. The moving constraint is expressed byan inequality on the flux, which models the bottleneck created in the road by the presence of the slowerDépôt de thèse – Donnéescomplémentairesvehicle. We prove the existence of solutions to the Cauchy problem for initial data of bounded variation. Moreover, two numerical schemes are proposed. The first one is a finite volume algorithm that uses alocally nonuniform moving mesh. The second one uses a reconstruction technique to display thebehavior of the vehicle. Next, we consider the Lighthill-Whitham-Richards traffic flow model on ajunction composed by one mainline, an onramp and an offramp, which are connected by a node. Theonramp dynamics is modeled using an ordinary differential equation describing the evolution of thequeue length. The definition of the solution of the Riemann problem at the junction is based on anoptimization problem and the use of a right of way parameter. The numerical approximation is carriedout using a Godunov scheme, modified to take into account the effects of the onramp buffer. Aftersuitable modification, the model is used to solve an optimal control problem on roundabouts. Two costfunctionals are numerically optimized with respect to the right of way parameter

Повний текст джерелаSince several decades, urban congestion is more and more widespread and deteriorate the quality of life of citizens who live in cities. Several methods are used to reduce urban congestion, notably traffic regulation and promotion of public transportation. Since the 1990's, the usage of tools from artificial intelligence, particularly distributed systems and multi-agent systems, allowed to design new methods for traffic regulation. Indeed, these methods ease to take into account the complexity of traffic-related problems with distribution. Moreover, the improvement of the communication abilities of the vehicles and the coming of autonomous vehicles allow to consider new approaches for regulation. The research work presented in this work is twofold. First we propose a method for traffic regulation at an intersection based on automatic negotiation. Our method is based on an argumentation system describing the state of the traffic and the preferences of each vehicle, relying on reasonning methods for vehicles and infrastructures. In the second part of this thesis, we propose a coordination method for buses for the rest of the traffic. This method allows a bus to coordinate in an anticipatory way with the next intersections on its trajectory, in order to define a common regulation policy allowing the bus to reach its next stop without suffering from potential congestions

Повний текст джерелаFor past several decades, researchers have been interested in understanding traffic evolution, hence, have proposed various traffic models to identify bottleneck locations where traffic congestion occurs, to detect traffic patterns, to predict traffic states etc. Most of the existing models consider traffic as many-particle system, describe it using different scales of representation and explain its evolution quantitatively by deducing relations between traffic variables like flow, density and speed. Such models are mainly focused on computing precise information about traffic using acquired traffic data. However, computation of such precise information requires more processing resources. A way to remedy this problem is to consider traffic evolution in qualitative terms which reduces the required number of processing resources. Since traffic is spatio-temporal in nature, the models which deal with spatio-temporal phenomenon can be applied in case of traffic. Such models represent spatio-temporal phenomenon from qualitative as well as quantitative standpoints. Depending on the intended application, some models are able to differentiate between various entities taking part in the phenomenon, which proves useful in case of traffic since different objects like vehicles, buildings, pedestrians, bicycles etc., directly affecting traffic evolution, can be included in traffic models. Qualitative spatio-temporal models consider the effects of different entities on each other in terms of spatial relations between them and spatio-temporal evolution of the modeled phenomenon is described in terms of variation in such relations over time. Considering different traffic constituents and spatial relations between them leads to the formation of a structure which can be abstracted using graph, whose nodes represent individual constituents and edges represent the corresponding spatial relations. As a result, the evolution of traffic, represented using graph, is described in terms of evolution of the graph itself, i. e. change in graph structure and attributes of nodes and edges, with time. In this thesis, we propose such a graph model to represent traffic. As mentioned above, one of the applications of existing traffic models is in detecting traffic patterns. However, since such models consider traffic quantitatively, in terms of acquired traffic data, the patterns detected using such models are statistical (a term employed by Pattern Recognition researchers) in the sense that they are represented using numerical description. Since graph-based traffic model proposed in this thesis represents the structure of traffic, it can be employed to redefine the meaning of traffic patterns from statistical to structural (also a term from Pattern Recognition community). Structural traffic patterns include different traffic constituents and their inter-links and are represented using time-varying graphs. An algorithm to detect a given structural traffic pattern in the spatio-temporal graph representing traffic is proposed in this thesis. It formalizes this problem as subgraph isomorphism for time-varying graphs. In the end, the performance of the algorithm is tested using various graph parameters

The results show that subjects perceive the regularity variation in the train traffic, even if they can't quantify or qualify this variation. The regularity has a relevant effect, even if it hasn't been linked to annoyance assessment yet

The main aims of this thesis is to develop methods of designing by optimization electric machines over railway driving cycle. Then, to implement these methods in a usable software. Firstly, existing electromagnetic models were transferred to Matlab and two thermal models were developed and validated by experimental measurements. The use of accurate models for the optimization over à driving cycle is highly time consuming so, after identification of this constraint, some solutions to reduce this time without losing the accuracy were proposed and validated. Finally, multi-level optimization approach has been developed for electric machine design to solve mixed integer problem. This approach takes into account the driving cycle by using the methods of cycle reduction developed during this thesis

Повний текст джерелаDuring the last three decades, electronic devices have conquered the railway domain. The railway power infrastructure, which is constituted by a power supply substation, a catenary and the rails, allows providing the required current for the rolling stock. The supply current generates significant electromagnetic fields in a wide frequency band. In addition, the new generation of rolling stock is equipped with safety communication systems. In order to work properly and reliably, the on-board and close electronic systems must be fairly immune to the effect of the electromagnetic interference. Thereby, it’s essential to determine the electromagnetic constraints which these electronic systems are confronted. The aim of this work is to develop an electromagnetic model the railway power infrastructure over a wide frequency band. After a description of the power substation which contains mainly of transformers and converters, a high frequency model of power transformer is proposed by considering the magnetic effects and parasitic capacitances. This model was applied to study an electromagnetic behaviour a bench test that represents a classic DC power substation which includes a transformer, a rectifier and a load resistance. Then, a bench test that contains a transformer, a transmission line and a load allows us to study the frequency behaviour of the line current. Finally, a simulation of a railway infrastructure based on using measurements done directly to the terminals of a substation is detailed

Повний текст джерелаThe scope of the thesis is the monitoring of human-machine systems, where the operator is the driver of rail-based transportation system. Our objective is to improve the security of the system preventing and avoiding factors that increase the risk of a human error. Two major problems are identified: characterization, or how to determine indicative and discernible phases of driver's activity and representation, or how to describe and codify driver's actions and its repercussions on the rail system in a mathematical formalism that will allow unequivocal analysis. In order to bring a solution to those problems, we propose, first-of-all, a behavioral model of the human operator representing his control behavior in continuous-time. To consider inter- and intra-individual differences of human operators and situation changes, we propose a transformation of the latter behavioral model in a new space of representation. This transformation is based on the theory of Hidden Markov Models, and on an adaptation of a special pattern recognition technique. Then, we propose a discrete-time behavioral modeling of the human operator, which represents his actions and takes account of errors and unexpected events in work environment. This model is inspired by cognitive models of human operators. These two aspects allow us to interpret observables with respect to reference situations in order to characterize the overall human operator state. Different information sources are considered; as a result the data are heterogeneous and subject to measuring uncertainties, needing a robust data fusion approach that is performed using a Bayesian Network. Finally, the proposed modeling and fusion methodologies are used to design a reliable and unintrusive vigilance system. This system can interpret driving behaviors and to detect driver’s risky states in order to prevent drowsiness. The theoretical study was tested in simulation to check the validity. Then, a feasibility study was conducted using data obtained during experiments on the LAMIH laboratory railroad platform “COR&GEST”. These results allowed us to plan and implement experiments to be conducted on the future multimodal driving simulator “PSCHITT-PMR”

Повний текст джерелаThe power supply quality of a railway network can be strongly affected by the unavailability of electrical equipment, whether due to a technical incident or a maintenance operation. It is then necessary to reduce the expected traffic by adjusting the time schedules and speed profiles, while maintaining optimal operating performance. The purpose of the work presented in this thesis is to develop a decision support tool to assist the agents in charge of the reorganization of traffic during an incident on electrical infrastructure. The studied system is complex and its analysis is based on costly simulations. We therefore proposed a two-phase approach. As a first step, a sensitivity analysis can effectively detect the most influential traffic adjustment variables. After a comparative analysis between different techniques, we selected the regional sensitivity analysis by Monte Carlo filtering and KS test, because it allows us to take into account the operational constraints, like the tension levels in line. The second phase consists in optimizing the solution by working in a small research area. A set of Pareto-Optimal solutions are generated to evaluate the best trade-off between the main criterion "traffic density" and other criteria such as losses or overheating. The techniques implemented led to the production of a prototype. The tool allows the engineer to define traffic adjustment variables and traffic performance criteria. Then it analyzes the influence of the various adjustment variables and optimizes the traffic according to the defined criteria. The tool was tested on four case studies proposed by SNCF Réseau and corresponding to network segments and actual rail traffic

The increase in traffic congestion induces commuters to switch to powered two wheelers (PTWs), i.e. motorcycle, mopeds and scooters, because of their high maneuverability and space efficiency. The growth in number of PTWs, combined with their unique mobility features, results in complex traffic characteristics which are difficult to recreate with the existing modeling approaches. We develop an analytical model that can accurately reproduce the traffic features in a mixed flow of cars and PTWs. The traffic stream is decomposed into two vehicle classes, PTWs and cars. The fundamental properties are derived by employing a porous flow approach. It is assumed that the speed of a vehicle class is dictated by the physical and motion properties of the vehicle class, and the distribution of free spaces on the road. We propose an approximation method to derive the free-space distribution. In order to explore broader aspects of the traffic flow characteristics, notably required by intelligent transport system (ITS) applications, we formulate the model in the Lagrangian and the Eulerian frameworks. Further, we provide a numerical method for the discretization of the mathematical model. We analyze the flow characteristics of mixed PTWs and cars traffic and identify important properties, which give insights for future ITS solutions and traffic policy makers. The applicability of the model for different ITS applications is illustrated. Finally, the developed model is validated using a microsimulation tool

Повний текст джерелаVibrations due to railway traffic propagate from the tracks to inside neighbour houses. Residents who are exposed to vibrations are also exposed to railway noise. This combined exposure to noise and vibration leads to annoyance, as well as to some health issues. Few studies have been conducted to investigate this combined exposure in terms of annoyance. The goal of the thesis is to improve the knowledge concerning the perceptual phenomena involved when both railway noise and railway vibration occur at the same time. Experiments are carried out in controlled conditions for that purpose, using acoustic and vibratory recordings obtained in the vicinity of a railway track, inside a dwelling. A first study was conducted in order to test the validity of an experimental procedure allowing to collect annoyance responses in laboratory conditions. For several combinations of noise and vibration at different noise and vibration levels, annoyance responses were collected: 1) partial annoyance due to noise, 2) partial annoyance due to vibration and 3) total annoyance due to combined noise and vibration. Results of this first study led to a common procedure used for the rest of the experiments carried out during this thesis work. Studies about annoyance due to combined railway noise and vibration often use indices which only describe an amount of energy for each single exposure. Results can be contradictory. A second study was conducted in the laboratory in order to evaluate the influence of (noise and vibration) intensity on annoyance and to determine the reason of the contradictory results observed in the literature. The initial hypotheses made in the current work were that those could be due to the different ranges of variation of noise and vibratory levels, or to the different spectral contents of the stimuli used in the studies of interest. In the literature, there is a reported need of further investigations about the influence of parameters not related to vibration level (\textit{e.g.} frequency content, modulation) on railway vibration annoyance. During this thesis, work was done in the aim of a better understanding of the role of vibratory spectral content in specific annoyance due to vibration in the absence of noise. An experiment was conducted using artificial vibration stimuli based on the railway vibration recording spectra. The importance of parameters other than overall noise or vibration levels on variations of the annoyance due to combined railway noise and vibration was investigated during a last study. The stimuli were based on 19 noise and vibration recordings obtained inside a dwelling, after having reduced their duration to 10s and with controlled variations of noise and vibration levels. The results showed that the relative importance of temporal and spectral parameters of the combined exposure to noise and vibration was low as compared to that of energetic parameters

Повний текст джерелаTo satisfy road managers needs (in particular in terms of decision-making and evaluation of their actions of exploitation), many dynamic traffic flow models have been developed in order to represent propagation of vehicles on a road section. Those models describe traffic flow in a more or less aggregated way and are generally classified into two main groups: microscopic models, which are interested in the dynamics of individualized vehicles, and macroscopic models, more aggregated models which describe traffic as a fluid. One of the difficulties encountered in the study of those models is the great disparity of scales to be considered. The aim of this thesis is to look further into these scales problems (in particular by studying the link that exists between microscopic and macroscopic models) through the development of a hybrid model of traffic flow (a hybrid model is defined as the coupling between a microscopic model and a macroscopic model). The interest of a hybrid model is that it makes it possible to adapt the traffic flow model to the needs to model the various elements of a network. It is thus possible to describe some specific elements where the local phenomena of traffic flow can have global consequences with the microscopic model(toll station, on-ramp, roundabout. . . ) while preserving a global vision of the flow on the rest of the network with the macroscopic model. Although there are some models of this type in the literature, there is no global view of the problems related to hybridization. So it is very difficult to judge the relevance of existing models. This is why we propose in this thesis a general theoretical framework defining these models, in particular by determining the fundamental properties that a hybrid models must have to be valid. We then propose a new hybrid model based on a first order macroscopic model (the Lighthill-Whitham- Richards model). The characteristic of that model is that it makes it possible to take into account the diversity of vehicles behaviour in the microscopic part by introducing distributions on some parameters. The results provided by this model are then studied for three examples of application (one-way toll station, crossing between a major and a minor road, combination of two intersections) in which we show the interest of the coupling between microscopic and macroscopic models

Повний текст джерелаTo estimate the noise emitted by an irregular traffic precisely, it is necessary to take into account its spatiotemporal evolution. This PhD suggests using a traffic model to describe the flow behaviour and to couple it with noise monograms which finely determine vehicles’ emission in order to estimate the dynamic variations of noise levels. The used traffic model is a first order macroscopic one. As the situations where vehicles accelerate are identified as important to estimate noise emission precisely, this model is extended to allow the correct representation of the vehicles’ kinematics during transitional phases. This extension consists of introducing a constraint on the maximal acceleration to complete the basis equation of the model. This constraint is integrated analytically and numerically with the development of a discretized form of the bounded acceleration model. The consistence of the discretization scheme is ensured by the study of the convergence of the numerical solutions to the analytical ones. The kinematics profiles resulting from the model are also studied by simulation in the case of a starting flow at a traffic signal. The traffic model is then coupled with the noise emission monograms supplied by the INRETS-LTE laboratory. A complementary model is needed to realise this operation in order to estimate vehicles’ gear ratio from their kinematics states because the traffic model does not represent this variable. The results of the global model are presented for two typical situations (a traffic signal and a congested restriction of capacity) to show the interest of a fine description of the traffic flow behaviour as far as noise estimation is concerned. The results of the model are also compared with experimental data in order to validate the representation of vehicles’ kinematics in the case of a starting platoon

Повний текст джерелаThis study focuses on the numerical modeling of the Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls behavior under High Speed Train (HST) loading. First, the state of the art in reinforced earth as well as in railway dynamics modeling is analyzed. Then we present results coming from the testing of a one-scale reinforced embankment submitted to harmonic loading. They indicate that tensile forces in reinforcements, stresses and displacements depend on loading frequency which is related to train speed. One proposes a 3D Finite Element Model (FEM) in order to numerically reproduce this experimentation. The numerical results fit reasonably well with the experimental ones, highlighting the great importance of the choice of the constitutive law for the soil, reinforcement and facing. The same model is used to locally investigate the soil/reinforcement interface behaviour during a harmonic loading in steady-state. The confining pressure presents significant variations along the reinforcement strip during the dynamic loading while tensile forces are less affected by the load. Nevertheless, the global interface stability remains acceptable compared to a static load. A second numerical model is proposed, which represents a bigger embankment. The multiphase model is used to represent the reinforced soil and moving coordinates are used to take into account the moving train. Theoretical developments of this model and its implementation into CESAR-LCPC FEM code are detailed. The results indicate that the train speed does not play a big role in the overall response of the structure, in the case of a stiff reinforcement comparable to the experimental one. If the embankment is weaker, the HST speed may be close to shear waves speed within the soil, which has significant consequences into the structure, particularly on the stability of the soil/reinforcement interface. Globally the experimental results and those coming from both numerical models present the same trends: the dynamic effect coming from the train passing leads to the in-crease of displacements and confining pressure close to the highest strips, while tensile forces are less affected by the load. This leads us to the conclusion that the train speed does not have a significant effect on the stability of MSE walls, at least for embankments having similar parameters than the experimental one. However these results strongly depend on the embankment geometry, the way to model the train and the parameters and constitutive laws chosen for the soil, the soil/reinforcement interface and the facing

The finite element method is used to study the performance of the linear induction motor. Firstly, the 2D finite element model (FEM) is constructed, which allows taking into account the longitudinal end effects. The transverse edge effects are taken into account within 2D model by varying the conductivity of the secondary and by adding the inductance of the winding overhang. Secondly, a coupled model between the magnetic and thermal 3D FEM is built which allows taking into account both the end effects and the temperature influence. Finally, a test bench is realized to validate the models. The comparison between the different models shows the importance of the coupled model. Optimal design using finite element modeling tools is a complex task and also time-costly. The surrogate model-assisted optimization strategies are studied. The direct surrogate model-assisted optimization and the Efficient Global Optimization are compared. A three-level output space-mapping technique is proposed to reduce the computation time. The optimization results show that the proposed algorithm allows saving a substantial computation time compared to the classical two level output space-mapping. Using the 3D FEM, a multi-objective optimization with a progressive improvement of a surrogate model is proposed. The proposed strategy evaluates the FEM in parallel. A 3D Pareto front composed of the finite element model evaluation results is obtained, which allows taking the decision for the engineering design
