Повний текст джерелаResearch in mathematics education shows that the notions of model and modeling are a source of epistemological tensions and biased conceptions among teachers. Indeed, these notions have been the subject of many attempts at definitions through the scientific and didactic literature, without ever reaching a consensus: the result is an epistemological disorder through the discussions of the international community, where certain conceptions are shared, and others marginalized. But there are reasons for this epistemological disorder: through a historical and epistemological analysis, it appears that models and modeling convey certain ambiguities inherent in their very nature. The hypothesis defended in this thesis suggests that these ambiguities generate turbulence in the internal and external didactic transposition and contribute to maintaining tensions and epistemological misunderstandings among teachers. To explore this hypothesis, a national survey of secondary school mathematics teachers is being conducted in France. Results based on 748 responses show significant heterogeneity of epistemological conceptions among respondents. Semi-structured interviews are conducted, and training engineering is tested. In conclusion, the concept of overdetermined epistemological system is introduced and proposals for teacher training are made

Its dynamic depends on the interaction between its actors orientated by their linguistic communications. This model derives from recent research in cognition communication, language and computing. Повний текст джерелаEconomics and mathematics have always been related and no one knows which one came first. In all the important civilizations in which functions are organized in a hierarchy, one found written evidences of the existence of mathematics. In addition, at each stage of the economic development corresponds a set of mathematical tools associated with a particular mode of thought. In the broader context of human knowledge, even a partial bird’s -eye view of the history of mathematics shows how a simple tool of the economic activity turns into the theoretical framework of economics. The first reasoning appear with the philosophers of ancient Greece; and mathematical conceptualization, in the wake of major discoveries of the 17th century, is closely related to humanist philosophy which builds political economy on the basis of the individual. In order to form a stand-alone science, political economy will find in mathematical concepts its first models during the 18th and 19th centuries. The use of mathematics in order to clarify the presentation of economic theories was and is still a subject of debates. As a teacher in mathematics in a faculty of economics, my project aims at exploring some phases of the penetration of mathematics into economics, and in fact their interaction. I also try to understand, through the example of the apparition of the concept of function raised from the concept of number and the way they became together tools for economic modeling, how the encounter between these concepts and the paradigm of economic individualism allowed Cournot to create mathematical economics

Повний текст джерелаThe object of this work is as ambitious as it is difficult. It sets out to examine the relationship of non-euclidean geometries and the mathematical problem of space. This work does not pretend to propose an exhaustive study. It is intended rather to seek a deepened undestanding, from an historical point of view, of a certain number of concepts and methods which, from this researcher's point of view, are at the origin of the extraordinary development of geometry in the 19th century. This research looks at the conceptual developments of non-euclidean geometries, examines the modes of formation of their fundamental notions and reflects on their key role in the constitution of new fields within mathematics. To this end, the approach adopted is genealogical and thematic. This work seeks to demonstrate the double nature of geometry. As pure mathematical theory, it is constituted from structures and ideal beings, and therefore can be qualified as "form of idealization". As theory which explains nature, it is an "abstract picture" (or a model) of physical phenomenons, in other words, a principle of intelligibility of reality. These two aspects however, and this is one of the principal thesis of this work, are essentially linked. When one takes into consideration the geometrical methods and theories as they have developed from the second half of the 19th century onwards, there is not reason to distinguish a priori between form and content nor between geometrical and physical properties of space. From an epistemological perspective, what is commonly understood to be mathematical geometry and physical geometry, is in fact two distinct yet complementary modes of existence of the same form of knowledge
