In this research, the normalization performance of the proposed adjusted min-max methods was compared to the normalization performance of statistical column, decimal scaling, adjusted decimal scaling, and min-max methods, in terms of accuracy and mean square error of the final classification outcomes. The evaluation process employed an artificial neural network classification on a large variety of widely used datasets. The best method was min-max normalization, providing 84.0187% average ranking of accuracy and 0.1097 average ranking of mean square error across all six datasets. However, the proposed adjusted-2 min-max normalization achieved a higher accuracy and a lower mean square error than min-max normalization on each of the following datasets: white wine quality, Pima Indians diabetes, vertical column, and Indian liver disease datasets. For example, the proposed adjusted-2 min-max normalization on white wine quality dataset achieved 100% accuracy and 0.00000282 mean square error. To conclude, for some classification applications on one of these specific datasets, the proposed adjusted-2 min-max normalization should be used over the other tested normalization methods because it performed better.

Pengambilan keputusan harus dilakukan berdasarkan pertimbangan-pertimbangan tertentu agar keputusan yang diambil dapat bersifat objektif, karena pengambilan keputusan yang dilakukan tanpa pertimbangan yang benar dapat mengakibatkan keputusan yang diambil menjadi kurang objektif. Logika fuzzy merupakan salah satu metode untuk melakukan analisis sistem yang mengandung ketidakpastian. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode mamdani dengan fungsi implikasi Min dan Prod dan defuzzifikasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode centroid. Dari analisis yang telah dilakukan maka didapatkan output dengan fungsi implikasi Max-Prod lebih besar dibanding Max-Min, maka sebelum menyelesaikan suatu kasus seharusnya dilakukan pertimbangan terhadap pemilihan fungsi implikasi yang sesuai.Decision-making should be performed based on the certain considerations in order to obtain objective decisions since the decision made without proper consideration can lead to less objective. Fuzzy logic is one of the methods for analyzing systems that contain uncertainty. In this reserch, we use implication functions Min and Prod in Mamdani method and defuzzifikasi performed by using the centroid method. From the earlier analysis done, we obtained the final results of Max-Min and Max-Prod where the Max-Prod implication functions manually produces the greater value than Max-Min, then before completing a case consideration should be done to the selection of an appropriate implication function.

In this paper, we study the “Multi-Robot Routing problem” with min–max objective (MRR-MM) in detail. It involves the assignment of sequentially ordered tasks to robots such that the maximum cost of the slowest robot is minimized. The problem description, the different types of formulations, and the methods used across various research communities are discussed in this paper. We propose a new problem formulation by treating this problem as a permutation matrix. A comparative study is done between three methods: Stochastic simulated annealing, deterministic mean-field annealing, and a heuristic-based graph search method. Each method is investigated in detail with several data sets (simulation and real-world), and the results are analysed and compared with respect to scalability, computational complexity, optimality, and its application to real-world scenarios. The paper shows that the heuristic method produces results very quickly with good scalability. However, the solution quality is sub-optimal. On the other hand, when optimal or near-optimal results are required with considerable computational resources, the simulated annealing method proves to be more efficient. However, the results show that the optimal choice of algorithm depends on the dataset size and the available computational budget. The contribution of the paper is three-fold: We study the MRR-MM problem in detail across various research communities. This study also shows the lack of inter-research terminology that has led to different names for the same problem. Secondly, formulating the task allocation problem as a permutation matrix formulation has opened up new approaches to solve this problem. Thirdly, we applied our problem formulation to three different methods and conducted a detailed comparative study using real-world and simulation data.

This paper investigates the output feedback cycle time assignability of the min-max systems which are more complex than the systems studied in recent years. Max-plus projection representation for the closed-loop system with min-max output feedback is introduced. The coloring graph is presented and applied to analyze the structure of systems effectively. The necessary and sufficient criterion for the output feedback cycle time assignability is established which is an extension of the results studied before. The methods are constructive in nature.

<p><span lang="EN-US">The Polysolenoid Linear Motor (PLM) have been playing a crucial role in many industrial aspects because it provides a straight motion directly without mediate mechanical actuators. Some control methods for PLM based on Rotational Motor are applied to obtain several good performances, but position and velocity constraints which are important in real systems are ignored. In this paper, we analysis control problem of tracking position in PLM under state-independent disturbances via min-max model predictive control. The proposed controller brings tracking position error converge to zero and satisfies state including position and velocity and input constraints. The simulation results validity a good efficiency of the proposed controller.</span></p>

AbstractIn this paper we consider lifetime distributions called EB-Max distribution and EB-Min. In the conditions of the Poisson’s Limit Theorem it is shown that EB-Max distribution may be approximated by its analogous called EP-Max lifetime distribution and EB-Min distribution may be approximated by its analogous EP-Min lifetime distribution. Further, as example, two methods are provided to simulate pseudo random number for EB-Min distribution and we apply EM algorithm to estimate parameters of EB-Min distribution. An example with real data is also presented and the proposed simulation algorithms where implemented in Maple.

Objectives: Take into account two static factors (joint congruence and glenoid labrum) for later comparison with a variant, the resection of the labrum. Methods: We used 10 cadaveric shoulders injected with 10% formalin, we practice macroscopic dissection. Describing glenoid cavity with labrum its dimensions and depth, using digital caliber, then remove the labrum, is measured again the major axis of the articular cavity, depth, and the index with glenohumeral labrum and without the same. Results: : Glenoid cavity: 1.With labrum front-back max 32.78, min 26.09 . Upper- lower max 44.06 min 33.69. Depth max 8.70 min 6.27. 2.Without labrum axs (mm) Front-back max 28,62 min 22,29. Upper-lower max 39,35 min 39,54 Depth max 6.03 min 3,70. Proximal humerus: Head measures (average mm): Front-back max 45,98 min 38,05 upper-lower max 51,56 min 39,83. The results of our comparative study were found variations in the static elements,which were statistically significant for the depth of the glenoid cavity with and without labrum (p: 0,0152) and close to the significance for front-back axis (p: 0,0812). Conclusion: Those measures in the glenoid surface without labrum were of 25.05 mm in average Front- back sense and 34.71 mm in average Upper-lower sense ; L Bigliani refers 25 and 35 mm respectively. We highlight the features of these static elements with their significant variables to be taken into account when planning reconstructive surgeries.

Cryptosporidium spp., Giardia spp., and members of Microsporidia are enteropathogenic parasites of humans and animals, producing asymptomatic to severe intestinal infections. To circumvent various impediments associated with current detection methods, we tested a method providing multistage purification and separation in a single, confined step. Standard real-time PCR was used as a detection method. Samples spiked with C. parvum and G. intestinalis were split for comparison to standard Method 1623. Results were equivalent to immunomagnetic procedures for Cryptosporidium, and Giardia. Overall percent recovery for Cryptosporidium with Method 1623 averaged 26.89% (std 21.44%; min = 0%; max = 73%) and was similar but less variable for qPCR method at an estimated average of 27.67 (std 17.65%; min = 5%; max = 63%). For Giardia, Method 1623 had an overall average recovery of 27.11% (std 17.98%; min = 1%; max = 58%), while multistage purification and qPCR had an estimated lower overall recovery at 18.58% (std 13.95%; min = 0%; max = 35%). Microsporidia were also readily detected with an estimated recovery of 46.81% overall (std 17.66%; min = 18%; max = 70%) for E. intestinalis and 38.90% (std 14.36%; min = 13%; max = 62%) for E. bieneusi.

Abstract In this paper, an extension is introduced into Max-Min Improved Euler methods for solving initial value problems of fuzzy fractional differential equations (FFDEs). Two modified fractional Euler type methods have been proposed and investigated to obtain numerical solutions of linear and nonlinear FFDEs. The proposed algorithms are tested on various illustrative examples. Exact values are also simulated to compare and discuss the closeness and accuracy of approximations so obtained. Comparatively, tables and graphs results reveal the complete reliability, efficiency and accuracy of the proposed methods.

In this paper, we propose a new rule-based method to determine exactly all the widest solution sets of a max-min fuzzy relational equation. As they can be applied to many fields of fuzzy logic, fuzzy relational equations are of great importance; therefore, many researches have been carried out on the subject and many methods have already been proposed to solve the various kinds of fuzzy equations that can be defined, especially the so-called max-min equations. One of the main consequences of the use of the max and min operators is the non uniqueness of the solution. Indeed, when a max-min fuzzy equation has solutions, there are several solutions which can be grouped in intervals. However, most of the existing methods do not enable to calculate the widest solution sets only, often leading to calculate non-maximal solution sets, that is, solution sets included in wider sets. This often results in unnecessary calculations, requiring huge amounts of memory and time. The method we propose here enables to determine rapidly all the widest solution sets of a max-min equation, and those sets only. The use of symbol-valued matrices enables to define simple rules and makes the method very simple to apply.

Abstract Introduction Sarcopenia is a multifactorial condition that, like sleep debt, affects the elderly and is related to metabolic, endocrine, inflammatory alterations and risk to mortality. Resistance training (RT), in turn, can improve both factors. Aim: investigate the effects of 12-week RT on sleep and muscle function in the sarcopenic elderly. Methods 28 sarcopenic elderly were equally distributed in 2 groups at random: CTL: who participated in weekly lifestyle change lectures or; RT: who did the progressive load RT. Sleep was assessed by polysomnography, actigraphy and questionnaires. Isokinetic and isometric of peak torque (PT) of skeletal muscle, anabolic and catabolic hormones, pro and anti-inflammatory cytokines concentrations were also evaluated. For intention to treat analysis (Δ) the generalized linear/non-linear for absolute variables or Wilcoxon rank-sum (Mann-Whitney) test. Data are expressed as mean±standard deviation or median, minimum and maximum values and difference witch p&lt;0.05. Results The RT reduced the time to sleep onset (16.09±15.21) compared to CTL (29.98±22.57) group after the intervention. The Δ shows that RT had more N3 sleep (median:0.90, min:-13.40, max: 25.00) than CTL (median:-3.35, min:-15.20, max:19.10). The RT increases TTS (median:57.55, min:-204.75, max:220.91 vs median:-9.63, min:-120.98, max:185.57) and improved self-reported sleep quality (median: -1.50, min: -9.00, max: 4.00 vs median: 0.50, min: -3.00, max: 6.00) and sleep efficiency (median: 9.50, min: -15.00, max: 34.00 vs 0.00, min: -28.00, max: 18.00). For all muscle function parameters (extension and flexion knee in isokinetic or isometric PT) RT had higher values compared to CTL group after 12 weeks of intervention (p&lt;0.05). IL-1ra concentrations were higher in RT (median: 0.04, min: -0.02, max: 0.36) vs CTL (median:-0.01, min:-0.12, max:0.07). Conclusion Progressive load resistance training improves sleep parameters associated to muscle recovery in elderly people with sarcopenia, along with positive changes in physical performance. This paper presents a new method of product module partition based on the fuzzy clustering analysis. This method demonstrates the relevant definitions and calculation methods of the initial partition, min-max partition, submodule relevancy and module aggregation etc., and establishes the incidence matrix to respectively carry out the initial partition for the products and calculation of min-max partition according to various incidence relations between parts and components. Taking the submodule as computing unit in each module set, this paper carries out the fuzzy cluster analysis to obtain the module partition results of the products, and finally demonstrates the rationality and effectiveness of this method by taking the example of the working units of the wheel loaders.

Material and Methods: The multicenteric study was prepared by retrospectively collecting data from 244 patients with parathyroid adenoma who underwent parathyroidectomy and followed up between 2010 and 2020. Results: Two hundred forty and four (female/male = 203/41) patients with a mean age of 51.41 [min-max: 17 to 88] years. The mean iPTH concentrations preoperatively were 584.27 ng/L [min-max: 18.9 to 5011ng/L]. The mean diameter of adenoma of patients was 2,865 mm3 [min-max: 0.119 to 42.3 mm3]. After parathyroidectomy, PTH values were reevaluated and found as 47.2 ng/L [min-max: 0.2 to 903 ng/L]. In the patients with large parathyroid adenoma volume, preoperative PTH hormone values were statistically significantly higher (p=0.001). Conclusion: Our current study found a positive association between baseline iPTH levels and adenoma weight. These results suggest that serum iPTH level may be useful in predicting parathyroid adenoma volume.

The complex of macromicroscopic methods has revealed the features of the sulci structure of the brain’s occipital lobe medial surface. Macromicroscopic, morphometric, topographic and anatomical, statistical and mathematical analysis were used. The sulci of the medial surface of the brain's occipital lobe are classified into permanent, typical and non-permanent. The complex of anatomical structures of the medial surface of the brain's occipital lobe includes the parietooccipital sulcus, calcarine sulcus, cuneus, calcarine spur, additional sulci. The parietooccipital and calcarine sulci are divided into segments: posterior (distal process), anterior (proximal process), common (common area). The parietooccipital sulcus is connected to the anterior end of the calcarine sulcus at 98,5 %. The length of the parietooccipital sulcus is min 16,0 mm and max 58 mm, M=35,8 mm, depth is min 9,0 mm and max 43,0 mm, M=24,3 mm. It was found that in 35 % of cases, the posterior end of the calcarine sulcus does not reach the apex (angle) of the occipital lobe of the brain by min 2,0 mm and max 14,0 mm, M=7,8 mm. In 43 % the posterior end of the calcarine sulcus bifurcates. The distance between the posterior end of the calcarine sulcus and the upper end of the parietooccipital sulcus is min 18,0 mm and max 64,0 mm, M=39,8 mm. The length of the calcarine sulcus is min 37 mm and max 79 mm, M=54 mm. The depth of the anterior part of the calcarine sulcus is min 8,0 mm and max 36,0 mm, M=20,7 mm; the depth of the posterior part is min 5,0 mm and max 22,0 mm, M=12,8 mm.

Idempotent mathematics is a branch of mathematics in which idempotent operations (for example, max) on the set of reals play a central role. In recent decades, we have seen intensive research in this direction. The principle of correspondence (this is an informal principle analogous to the Bohr correspondence principle in the quantum mechanics) asserts that each meaningful concept or result of traditional mathematics corresponds to a meaningful concept or result of idempotent mathematics. In particular, to the notion of probability measure there corresponds that if Maslov measure (also called idempotent measure) as well as more recent notion of max-min measure. Also, there are idempotent counterparts of the convex sets; these include the so-called max-plus and max min convex sets. Methods of idempotent mathematics are used in optimization problems, dynamic programming, mathematical economics, game theory, mathematical biology and other disciplines. In this paper we provide a survey of results that concern algebraic and geometric properties of the functors of idempotent and max-min measures.

In this article, max–min ant colony optimization algorithm is proposed to determine how to allocate jobs and schedule tools with the objective of minimizing the makespan of processing plans in flexible manufacturing system. To expand the application range of max–min ant colony optimization algorithm, tool movement policy is selected as the running mode of flexible manufacturing system, which assumes that tools are shared among work centers and each operation is allowed to be machined by different kinds of tools. In the process of converting this scheduling problem into traveling salesman problem, disjunctive graph is modified to possess more than one path between each neighbor node. Besides providing practical methods of initializing pheromone, selecting node and calculating pheromone increment, max–min ant colony optimization algorithm employs the pheromone updating rule in max–min ant system to limit pheromone amount in a range, of which the upper and lower boundaries are updated after each iteration by formulations involving the current optimal makespan, the average number of optional tools and parameters. Finally, different sizes of processing plans are randomly generated, through which max–min ant colony optimization algorithm is proved effectively to tackle early stagnation and local convergence and thus obtains better solution than ant colony optimization algorithm and bidirectional convergence ant colony optimization algorithm.

Tension–tension fatigue tests of notched 18CrNi4A steel specimens were carried out under three different fatigue stresses, and metal magnetic memory (MMM) signals were detected. The effects of fatigue damage and fatigue stress on MMM signals were investigated. The results show that the absolute values of the feature parameters Hp(y)max, Hp(y)min and Hp(y)sub increase with the aggravation of the fatigue damage. There is an inherent relationship between the fatigue stress and the values of the Hp(y)sub; the larger the fatigue stress is, the larger the absolute values of the Hp(y)sub is. Fatigue-damaged locations can be effectively predicated according to the mutational character of the Hp(y) curve and the K curve, and zero-crossing points of the Hp(y) curve, respectively. Fatigue damage degree can be effectively predicated according to the value of the Kmax and the Hp(y)max, Hp(y)min and Hp(y)sub.

<p><strong>Background:</strong> Vocal loading is a phenomenon that affects the vocal folds and voice parameters. Prolonged vocal loading may cause vocal fatigue. Hydration is one of the easiest precautions to reduce the effect of vocal loading. Voice range profile is an analysis of a participant’s vocal intensity and fundamental frequency ranges. Speech range profile is a graphical display of frequency intensity interactions occurring during functional speech activity. Phonetogram software can analyse VRP and SRP.</p><p><strong>Methods:</strong> Total sixty normophonic participants (thirty male and thirty female) were included in this study. Phonetogram, version 4.40 by Tiger DRS, software used to measure the voice range profile and speech range profile. For VRP, participants were asked to produce vowel /a/ and a passage reading task was given for SRP measurement.</p><p><strong>Results:</strong> All sample recording were done at pre vocal loading task, VLT and after hydration. Parameter that were used to measure the effects were Fo-range, semitone, max-F, min-F, SPL range, max-I, min-I, area (dB). Result showed that after VLT all other parameters like Fo-range, semitone, max-F, min-F, SPL range, max-I, min-I, area (dB) in VRP and SRP were reduced except min-F VRP in male, min-I VRP and min-I SRP in both male and female participants. After hydration all other parameters were improved except max-F VRP and min-F VRP in female, max-I VRP, min-F VRP and area VRP.</p><p><strong>Conclusions:</strong> This study concluded that vocal loading has negative impact on vocal fold tissue and mass. </p>

Currently, one of the most common causes of death worldwide is cancer. The development of innovative methods to support the early and accurate detection of cancers is required to increase the recovery rate of patients. Several studies have shown that medical Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) combined with artificial intelligence algorithms is a powerful tool for cancer detection. Various preprocessing methods are commonly applied to hyperspectral data to improve the performance of the algorithms. However, there is currently no standard for these methods, and no studies have compared them so far in the medical field. In this work, we evaluated different combinations of preprocessing steps, including spatial and spectral smoothing, Min-Max scaling, Standard Normal Variate normalization, and a median spatial smoothing technique, with the goal of improving tumor detection in three different HSI databases concerning colorectal, esophagogastric, and brain cancers. Two machine learning and deep learning models were used to perform the pixel-wise classification. The results showed that the choice of preprocessing method affects the performance of tumor identification. The method that showed slightly better results with respect to identifing colorectal tumors was Median Filter preprocessing (0.94 of area under the curve). On the other hand, esophagogastric and brain tumors were more accurately identified using Min-Max scaling preprocessing (0.93 and 0.92 of area under the curve, respectively). However, it is observed that the Median Filter method smooths sharp spectral features, resulting in high variability in the classification performance. Therefore, based on these results, obtained with different databases acquired by different HSI instrumentation, the most relevant preprocessing technique identified in this work is Min-Max scaling.

Aims: To explore the feasibility of quantitative evaluation of pulmonary function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) using tissue velocity imaging (TVI) and strain rate imaging (SRI) via transthoracic lung ultrasonography. Material and methods: Eighty inpatients with clinically diagnosed COPD underwent pulmonary function test and transthoracic lung ultrasound on the same day. Lung ultrasound variables and pulmonary function parameters were analyzed. Results: All patients with COPD had faster breathing and significant reduced lung function compared with healthy participants (p<0.05). The lung ultrasound parameters, velocity (max-min, cm/s), displacement (max-min, mm), strain (max-min, %) and strain rate (max-min, 1/s) were significantly higher in patients with COPD (p<0.05). A good negative correlation was found between lung ultrasound variables and pulmonary function parameters in patients with COPD. Stepwise multiple regression analysis indicated that the velocity (max-min, cm/s) was the only independent determinant of FEV1/FVC (%). With the use of FEV1/FVC<70% as the criteria of irreversible pulmonary function impairment to distinguish an abnormal pulmonary function, the area under the ROC was 0.99 for the velocity (max-min, cm/s) of the lung tissue in the process of breathing. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of the cut off value (1.19 cm/s) was 97.63%, 100%, 100%, 80%, and 98%, respectively (p<0.001). Conclusions: Tissue velocity imaging via transthoracic lung ultrasound is a useful modality in the assessment of pulmonary function in patients with COPD.

We have developed a useful equation for estimating health-related physical fitness age. This version of health-related fitness age was developed as an extension of the biological age index and is useful for evaluation of individual differences in functional abilities of middle-aged and older adults. This measure consists of 4 independent variables fitness (V̇O2 max, standing trunk flexibility, %fat, and grip strength). However, direct measurement of maximal oxygen uptake (V̇O2 max) is an invasive clinical procedure and not practical for large scale work. In the current study, we attempted to assess the fitness age more feasibly. We selected a questionnaire method and a 12-min. submaximal treadmill walk test as substitutes for the V̇O2 max test. The three fitness ages were computed for 23 Japanese men [ Mage 54.1 ± 10.7 yr.), using actual V̇O2 max (actual fitness age), questionnaire V̇O2 max (predicted questionnaire fitness age), and treadmill V̇O2 max (predicted treadmill fitness age). Predicted questionnaire fitness age (61.0 ± 10.5 yr.) and predicted treadmill fitness age (60.0 ± 12.4 yr.) were significantly correlated with actual fitness age (60.1 ± 12.4 yr.) ( r = .96 and .97, respectively). There were no significant differences among the three indices, but there was a significant difference between actual fitness age and chronological age ( p<.05). For V̇O2 max substituting the questionnaire for the treadmill estimate is acceptable in assessing fitness age and reducing the clinical risk for middle-aged and older Japanese men.

The classical rang-based technique for position estimation is still reliably used for indoor localization. Trilateration and multilateration, which include three or more references to locate the indoor object, are two common examples. These techniques use at least three intersection-locations of the references' distance and conclude that the intersection is the object's position. However, some challenges have appeared when using a simple power-to-distance parameter, i.e., received signal strength indicator (RSSI). RSSI is known for its fluctuated values when used as the localization parameter. The improvement of classical range-based has been proposed, namely min-max and iRingLA algorithms. These algorithms or methods use the approximation in a bounding-box and rings for min-max and iRingLA, respectively. This paper discusses the comparison performance of min-max and iRingLA with multilateration as the classical method. We found that min-max gives the best performance, and in some positions, iRingLA gives the best accuracy error. Hence, the approximation method can be promising for indoor localization, especially when using a simple and straightforward RSSI parameter.

Rotor vibrations caused by rotor mass unbalance distributions are a major source of maintenance problems in high-speed rotating machinery. Minimizing this vibration by balancing under practical constraints is quite important to industry. This paper considers balancing of two large industrial rotor systems by constrained least squares and min-max balancing methods. In current industrial practice, the weighted least squares method has been utilized to minimize rotor vibrations for many years. One of its disadvantages is that it cannot guarantee that the maximum value of vibration is below a specified value. To achieve better balancing performance, the min-max balancing method utilizing the Second Order Cone Programming (SOCP) with the maximum correction weight constraint, the maximum residual response constraint as well as the weight splitting constraint has been utilized for effective balancing. The min-max balancing method can guarantee a maximum residual vibration value below an optimum value and is shown by simulation to significantly outperform the weighted least squares method.

The article provides a detailed analysis of the well-known mathematical methods that are used in solving transport logistics problems of various types. Their advantages and disadvantages are determined. The article proposes to use the methods of swarm intelligence to find the optimal route, taking into account all forbidden zones. The problem of transport logistics was solved by the ant colony optimization algorithm on a control example. The results of work of the method were analyzed. The main disadvantages are established. It is proposed to use a modification of the ant colony algorithm - the Max-Min ant colony optimization algorithm. The effectiveness of the method for solving the problem of transport logistics by the algorithm of max-min optimization of an ant colony was tested on a control example. An experimental calculation of the optimal route of traffic from the starting point to the final point is given taking into account the forbidden zones.

Background Discriminating the stage of thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) is crucial for the treatment strategy and prognosis prediction. Utility of conventional magnetic resonance imaging in the disease staging is limited. Purpose To investigate the performance of T2 mapping based on different region of interest (ROI) selection methods in the staging of TAO. Material and Methods Thirty-two patients with TAO were retrospectively enrolled. Two radiologists independently measured the T2 relaxation time (T2RT) of extraocular muscles using two different ROIs (hotspot [ROIHS]: T2RT-hot; single-slice [ROISS]: T2RT-mean, T2RT-max, T2RT-min). Independent-samples t test, Wilcoxon signed rank test, Spearman correlation analysis, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves analyses, multiple ROC comparisons, and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) were used for statistical analyses. Results No significant difference was found in the measuring time between ROIHS and ROISS methods ( P = 0.066). T2RT-mean demonstrated the highest ICC for measurement, followed by T2RT-max and T2RT-min, and T2RT-hot showed the poorest reproducibility. Active TAOs showed significantly higher values for all the T2RTs than inactive mimics (all P < 0.001). Significant positive correlations were found between T2RTs and CAS (all P < 0.005). T2RT-hot and T2RT-max showed significantly higher areas under the curve than that of T2RT-mean ( P = 0.013 and 0.024, respectively), while the difference between T2RT-hot and T2RT-max was not significant ( P = 0.970). Conclusion The T2RTs derived from both ROI selection methods could be useful for the staging of TAO. The results of measuring time, reproducibility, and diagnostic performance suggest that T2RT-max would be the optimal indicator for staging.

Abstract Background: Thrombosis in Primary Myelofibrosis (PMF) is one of the main but not fully covered problem. Thrombotic complications in PMF occur more frequently than in general population and could result to morbidity and lethality of patients. Several previous studies have demonstrated different thrombotic rates related to type molecular driver mutation (JAK2V617F, CALR, MPL) in myeloproliferative neoplasms, but this fact now is not fully understood. The standard clotting tests cover only initial stages of coagulation and could not evaluate anticoagulant system. Its results are not varied in PMF patients with different mutations. We have interested and initiated study of the coagulation system in PMF patients with integral hemostasis test - Calibrated Automated Thrombography (CAT). Here we present the results of pilot study group assessment. Aim: to investigate of the coagulation system in PMF patients with different molecular driver mutations (JAK2V617F, CALR, MPL) using thrombin generation test. Methods: The study included 13 MF patients (26 - 71 years, median = 40). There were 11 females and 2 males. Nine patients were JAK2V617F positive, 3 had CALR mutations and one patient was MPL-mutated. Thrombin generation was assessed by calibrated automated thrombinography (CAT) according to Hemker et al. Assessments were conducted in platelet poor plasma (PPP) with or without presence of thrombomodulin (PPP reagent +/- TM) as an activator of protein C system. The following parameters were evaluated: endogenous thrombin potential (ETP, nM*min), peak thrombin (Peak, nM), lag-time (Lag, min), and time to peak (TTP, min). Sensitivity ETP and Peak for TM were calculated as percent of decreasing of these parameters after adding to assay of TM (S ETP, % and S Peak, % respectively). STATISTICA 6.0 package was used in data analysis. Results were presented as median (Me) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). Results: ETP was highest in JAK2V617F patients (1213.57; min 781.60-max 1781.26 nM*min), intermediate in CALR (1058.47; min 933.14-max 1190.79 nM*min) and lowest in MPL group (972.49 nM*min). However, the Peak was higher in CALR (207.57; min 165.63-max 235.36 nM) than in JAK2V617F (160.9; (min 94.38-max 317.11 nM) and MPL (136.19 nM). We have observed disruption of protein C functioning in JAK2V617F (S-ETP 34%, min 8.65%-max 68.73%; S-Peak 20%, min 0.01%-max 44.64%) and MPL (S-ETP 46%; S-Peak 24%) groups compared to CALR patients (S-ETP 6.4%, min 2.5%-max 9.2%; S-Peak 1.8%, min 0.87%-max 1.8%). Conclusion: The results of thrombin production were differed in relation to driver mutation type. JAK2V617F-patients produced more thrombin and have protein C system dysfunction. It could be serve as an explanation of higher risk of thrombosis in MF patients with JAK2V617F mutation. The yielded results force us to continue research to confirm our findings on representative sample of PMF patients. Disclosures No relevant conflicts of interest to declare.

Aim: To investigate incidental prostate cancer (IPCa) rate and to determine prostate specific antigen (PSA) cut-off value indicating PCa in patients who underwent surgery by being diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) clinically or by standard prostate biopsy. Methods: Data of 317 patients, who underwent transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) or open prostatectomy (OP) with pre-diagnosis of BPH, were evaluated retrospectively. The examined parameters included patients’ demographics, preoperative serum PSA values, digital rectal examination (DRE) findings, surgical method, histopathological findings and Gleason Scores.Results: A total of 317 patients were included the study. The median age of patients was 69 years (min: 51-max: 79) and the median PSA value was 3.24 ng/dl (min: 0.17-max: 34.9). In 21 patients (6.6%); DRE findings were in favor of malignancy, but prostate biopsy resulted as BPH. While 281 (88.6%) of the patients underwent TURP, 36 (11.4%) underwent open prostatectomy. PCa was detected in 21 (6.6%) patients. PSA was statistically higher in patients who underwent OP compared to patient who underwent TUR-P, 5.9 (min: 1.2 - max: 27.6, IR: 8.7) vs. 2.8 (min: 0.1-max: 34.9, IR: 4.2) ng/dl, p < .001. The rate of IPCa among four PSA group was similar (p = 0.46). There was no difference between the rate of IPCa in patients younger and older than 70 years, (p = 0.11). Conclusions: IPCa still remains an important clinical problem. We were not able to find any correlation of PSA and age with incidental PCa.

This study used Corona Virus Disease-19 (Covid-19) data in Indonesia from June to August 2021, consisting of data on people who were infected or positive Covid-19, recovered from Covid-19, and passed away from Covid-19. The data were processed using the adaptive LMS algorithm directly without pre-processing cause calculation errors, because covid-19 data was not balanced. Z-score and min-max normalization were chosen as pre-processing methods. After that, the prediction process can be carried out using the LMS adaptive method. The analysis was done by observing the error prediction that occurred every month per case. The results showed that data pre-processing using min-max normalization was better than with Z-score normalization because the error prediction for pre-processing using min-max and z-score were 18% and 47%, respectively.

Background Much has been written from the social science perspective surrounding surgeons’ stress and burn out. The literature is sparse in reference to scientific investigations of the hemodynamic effect of that stress. This prospective clinical study quantifies the physiologic impact of performing surgery upon the acute care surgeon. Methods Over 2.5 years, monitoring devices were affixed to surgeons prior to entering the operating room, and physiologic variables were documented every 30 minutes. Qualifying cases were projected as being greater than 2 hours with a baseline preoperative measurement obtained. Variables recorded included blood pressure (BP), heart rate (HR), rate pressure product (RPP), oxygen saturation (O2 sat), and end-tidal carbon dioxide (ET CO2). Results Statistically significant differences ( P < .05) were found between baseline data to the maximum recording during the surgical operation for: BP (min 101 ± 6.6 (mmHg)-max 117 ± 5.1 (mmHg)), HR (min 70.5 ± 6.2 (bpm)-max 83.7 ± 9.0 (bpm)), O2 sat (min 97 ± 2.0 (%)-max 100 ± 0.22(%)), and ET CO2 (min 34.1 ± 1.15 mmHg-max 38 ± 1.7 mmHg) ( P < .0001). The RPP ranged from 10.49 mmHg/min to 15.88 mmHg/min with a mean of 14.00 mmHg/min. Discussion The practice of surgery is considered demanding in training and lifestyle in comparison to other medical specialties. This data is among the first to demonstrate the negative physiological impact of surgery upon the metabolic demand of the surgeon. The longitudinal implications of increased physiologic demand over time may have cardiovascular and cerebrovascular consequences.

This paper proposes a new strategy to achieve balanced capacitor voltages in modular multilevel converters. Among the possible solutions, centralized arm control approaches are often adopted. These methods require a balancing technique based on a sorted list of the sub-modules according to their capacitor voltages. In order to achieve the aforementioned sorted list, different algorithms have been proposed in literature, such as: Sorting algorithms, max/min approaches, etc. However, the sorting algorithms require a long execution time, while the max/min approaches affect the converter dynamic response during faults. To overcome these issues, a new mapping strategy providing a quasi-sorted list is proposed in this paper. The suggested method is compared in simulation with both the classical bubble sorting algorithm, and the max/min method during both normal and faulty conditions. Moreover, the three methods have been implemented in a Xilinx Zynq-7000 System-on-Chip (SoC) device, in order to analyze the corresponding execution time and the required computational effort. Hardware-in-the-loop results are presented for demonstrating the superior performance of the proposed balancing strategy.

This study compared submaximal and maximal oxygen uptake (V̇O2 max) in children ages 3–4 and 5–6 years. Methods appropriate for this age group were developed to elicit maximal performance on the exercise tests. Subjects (N = 22) performed progressive treadmill walking tests. The criteria used to determine whether V̇O2 max was reached were a plateauing of oxygen uptake, HR > 195, and an R > 1.00. The V̇O2 max for the 3- and 4-year-olds (44.5 ml•kg−1•min−1) was not significantly different from that of the 5- and 6-year-olds (44.1 ml•kg−1•min−1). At submaximal levels, 5- and 6-year-olds had significantly lower relative oxygen uptake, indicating better economy in walking. A large proportion of children met testing criteria for V̇O2 max. Test-retest results indicated that the tests were reliable.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to provide a way to analyze satellite images using various clustering algorithms and refined bitplane methods with other supporting techniques to prove the superiority of RIFCM. Design/methodology/approach – A comparative study has been carried out using RIFCM with other related algorithms from their suitability in analysis of satellite images with other supporting techniques which segments the images for further process for the benefit of societal problems. Four images were selected dealing with hills, freshwater, freshwatervally and drought satellite images. Findings – The superiority of the proposed algorithm, RIFCM with refined bitplane towards other clustering techniques with other supporting methods clustering, has been found and as such the comparison, has been made by applying four metrics (Otsu (Max-Min), PSNR and RMSE (40%-60%-Min-Max), histogram analysis (Max-Max), DB index and D index (Max-Min)) and proved that the RIFCM algorithm with refined bitplane yielded robust results with efficient performance, reduction in the metrics and time complexity of depth computation of satellite images for further process of an image. Practical implications – For better clustering of satellite images like lands, hills, freshwater, freshwatervalley, drought, etc. of satellite images is an achievement. Originality/value – The existing system extends the novel framework to provide a more explicit way to analyze an image by removing distortions with refined bitplane slicing using the proposed algorithm of rough intuitionistic fuzzy c-means to show the superiority of RIFCM.

This study investigates data standardization methods based on the grid search (GS) algorithm for energy load forecasting, including zero-mean, min-max, max, decimal, sigmoid, softmax, median, and robust, to determine the hyperparameters of deep learning (DL) models. The considered DL models are the convolutional neural network (CNN) and long short-term memory network (LSTMN). The procedure is made over (i) setting the configuration for CNN and LSTMN, (ii) establishing the hyperparameter values of CNN and LSTMN models based on epoch, batch, optimizer, dropout, filters, and kernel, (iii) using eight data standardization methods to standardize the input data, and (iv) using the GS algorithm to search the optimal hyperparameters based on the mean absolute error (MAE) and mean absolute percent error (MAPE) indexes. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified on the power load data of the Australian state of Queensland and Vietnamese Ho Chi Minh city. The simulation results show that the proposed data standardization methods are appropriate, except for the zero-mean and min-max methods.

This research is a quasi-experimental study aimed to determine the effect of Pivot off line interactive learning media on students' interest in learning physics at Pinangsori 1 High School and to know the effect of Pivot off line interactive learning media on student physics learning outcomes on business (work) and kinetic energy material in Pinangsori 1 High School. The population in this study were all students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Pinangsori, which consisted of 4 classes (130 students). The sample of this study was determined by random cluster sampling, amounting to 30 people. The research instrument is learning interest. The average value of the final ability (Post-test) in the experimental class after the implementation of learning methods assisted by Pivot Animator software increased. The experimental class post-test results are (for max = 95, min = 75, dan = 84,3), while the control class post-test results are (for max = 80, min = 60, dan = 73,1). The initial results of the questionnaire students' interest in learning physics in the experimental class were (for max = 90, min = 60, dan = 79,3),, while in the control class were (for max = 80, min = 50, dan = 69,1) it can be concluded that Pivot off line interactive learning media on students' learning interest in Pinangsori 1 High School.

Background: As there is a linear relationship between the level of physical activity and health status therefore it is quintessential that an individual’s fitness levels be regularly assessed. Cardio-respiratory fitness (CRF), is quantifiable as VO2 max which is maximal oxygen uptake and is generally considered by exercise physiologists as one of the best indicators of physical fitness. This study aimed to establish baseline normative values of VO2 max in healthy central Indian population upon exercise on treadmill and cycle ergometer as assessed in sports physiology laboratory of a rural medical college. Methods: A total of 150 healthy young subjects were included in the study within the age group of 17-28 years. The VO2 max score was evaluated by using metabolic module of lab chart software investigated through power lab data acquisition system, AD instruments. Results: Out of 150 subjects, there were a total of 89 (59.33%) male subjects and 61 (40.66%) female subjects. The mean age of males was 21.20±2.62 years and of females was 20.36±2.69 years. The mean and SD value of VO2 max on treadmill for males was 34.09±4.34 ml/kg/min and for females was 25.09±6.99 ml/kg/min, and on cycle ergometer for males was 32.79±1.85 ml/kg/min and for females was 24.15±5.45 ml/kg/min. Conclusions: The baseline normative data for CRF parameter, VO2 max was established in the current study to lay the foundation for risk assessment to improve patient management.
