Повний текст джерелаThis thesis develops the modulating functions method for non-asymptotic and robust estimations for fractional-order nonlinear systems, fractional-order linear systems with accelerations as output, and fractional-order time-delay systems. The designed estimators are provided in terms of algebraic integral formulas, which ensure non-asymptotic convergence. As an essential feature of the designed estimation algorithms, noisy output measurements are only involved in integral terms, which endows the estimators with robustness against corrupting noises. First, for fractional-order nonlinear systems which are partially unknown, fractional derivative estimation of the pseudo-state is addressed via the modulating functions method. Thanks to the additive index law of fractional derivatives, the estimation is decomposed into the fractional derivatives estimation of the output and the fractional initial values estimation. Meanwhile, the unknown part is fitted via an innovative sliding window strategy. Second, for fractional-order linear systems with accelerations as output, fractional integral estimation of the acceleration is firstly considered for fractional-order mechanical vibration systems, where only noisy acceleration measurements are available. Based on the existing numerical approaches addressing the proper fractional integrals of accelerations, our attention is primarily restricted to estimating the unknown initial values using the modulating functions method. On this basis, the result is further generalized to more general fractional-order linear systems. In particular, the behaviour of fractional derivatives at zero is studied for absolutely continuous functions, which is quite different from that of integer order. Third, for fractional-order time-delay systems, pseudo-state estimation is studied by designing a fractional-order auxiliary modulating dynamical system, which provides a more general framework for generating the required modulating functions. With the introduction of the delay operator and the bicausal generalized change of coordinates, the pseudo-state estimation of the considered system can be reduced to that of the corresponding observer normal form. In contrast to the previous work, the presented scheme enables direct estimation for the pseudo-state rather than estimating the fractional derivatives of the output and a bunch of fractional initial values. In addition, the efficiency and robustness of the proposed estimators are verified by numerical simulations in this thesis. Finally, a summary of this work and an insight into future work were drawn

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis aims to design non-asymptotic and robust estimators for a class of fractional order linear systems in noisy environment. It deals with a class of commensurate fractional order linear systems modeled by the so-called pseudo-state space representation with unknown initial conditions. It also assumed that linear systems under study can be transformed into the Brunovsky’s observable canonical form. Firstly, the pseudo-state of the considered systems is estimated. For this purpose, the Brunovsky’s observable canonical form is transformed into a fractional order linear differential equation involving the initial values of the fractional sequential derivatives of the output. Then, using the modulating functions method, the former initial values and the fractional derivatives with commensurate orders of the output are given by algebraic integral formulae in a recursive way. Thereby, they are used to calculate the pseudo-state in the continuous noise-free case. Moreover, to perform this estimation, it provides an algorithm to build the required modulating functions. Secondly, inspired by the modulating functions method developed for pseudo-state estimation, an operator based algebraic method is introduced to estimate the fractional derivative with an arbitrary fractional order of the output. This operator is applied to cancel the former initial values and then enables to estimate the desired fractional derivative by a new algebraic formula using a recursive way. Thirdly, the pseudo-state estimator and the fractional order differentiator are studied in discrete noisy case. Each of them contains a numerical error due to the used numerical integration method, and the noise error contribution due to a class of stochastic processes. In particular, it provides ananalysis to decrease noise contribution by means of an error bound that enables to select the optimal degrees of the modulating functions at each instant. Then, several numerical examples are given to highlight the accuracy, the robustness and the non-asymptotic property of the proposed estimators. Moreover, the comparisons to some existing methods and a new fractional orderH1-like observer are shown. Finally, conclusions are outlined with some perspectives

The' first part of this thesis achieves a complete study of B process for single exponential sums or sums with a parameter. In the second part, Fouvry and Iwaniec's method for multiple exponential sums with monomial is combined with A and B Van der Corput's process to get new bounds for single exponential sums which complete Huxley's table. The third part gives an accurate estimation for single oscillating integrals when the critical point is close to the endpoints of the integration interval which applies to mean values of oscillating integrals such as those that occur in the study of multiple B transform

Повний текст джерелаEisenstein's symbols, defined by Beilinson in the 1980s, are special elements in the motivic cohomology of modular curves. Beilinson has shown that their integrals are special values of L functions of modular forms of weight 2.Part of this thesis concerns the regularized integrals of Beilinson elements. Using a new method of Rogers and Zudilin, we show that these integrals gives us L values of modular forms at negative integers. This generalize the recent work by Zudilin and Brunault. Our formula is in accordance with Beilinson's conjectures.In this computation, we systematically study the generalized Mellin transform. In addition, we extend it to certain functions with exponential growth. We also use the extended modular symbols by Stevens to formulate our results. The Rogers and Zudilin method is also a powerful tool for evaluating double L functions. Inspired by an example from Shinder and Vlasenko, we show more generally that many values of double L functions of Eisenstein series can be expressed in terms of L functions of modular forms. Tornheim and Mordell have defined certain double zeta series. In collaboration with Zhang, we define and study the Mordell-Tornheim Eisenstein series. Using Cohen's series, we give explicit formulas for these series

The aim is to understand the connection between deformation theory and correlation functions of certain integrable models of quantum field theory in the finite volume. In the first part, we study multivalued solutions of the Dirac equation that realize a unitary one-dimensional representation of the fundamental group of the cylinder with n marked points. We introduce and investigate the canonical basis of solutions, the Green function and the tau function of the singular Dirac operator. In the second part, we derive in two different ways nonlinear differential equations, satisfied by the correlation functions of the Ising model on the cylinder

Повний текст джерелаThe origin of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), remains unknown. The loss of intestinal homeostasis as an etiologic factor is accepted. One of the key players in this homeostasis is the intestinal epithelial cells (IECs). It is now clearly established that the IECs regulate the functions of immune cells in the intestinal mucosa and actively participate in maintaining immune tolerance in the intestine. In particular, they have the ability to direct the differentiation of dendritic cells from the intestinal mucosa to a tolerogenic phenotype, notably trough the production of cytokines such as TGF-β (Transforming growth Factor-β) and TSLP (Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin). The laboratory has previously shown that there is a defect in the expression level of the nuclear receptor PPARγ (Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor gamma) in the IEC of the colon, specifically in UC patients. In mice, invalidation of the gene encoding PPARγ increases susceptibility to experimental colitis induced by DSS (Dextran Sodium Sulfate). Other studies have highlighted the anti-inflammatory effect of a PPAR agonist, 5-amino-salicylic acid (5-ASA). The nuclear receptor PPARγ is an essential actor in the establishment of homeostasis in the IEC. Our hypothesis is that PPARγ deficiency in UC patients disrupts the immune modulating functions of the IEC and would be at the origin of the loss of intestinal tolerance. The aim of this thesis is to characterize new target genes of the nuclear receptor PPARγ involved in the establishment of homeostasis in the intestinal epithelial cells. Among the potential candidates tested, the expression of TSLP cytokine is significantly decreased in vitro in PPARγ knock-down Caco-2 cells (ShPPARγCaco-2). This epithelial cytokine is known to play a role in intestinal homeostasis. It exists under two isoforms: a long isoform called TSLP 1 and a short isoform called TSLP 2. The results show that only the short form of the TSLP (sfTSLP) is regulated by PPARγ. The different PPARγ agonists (Pioglitazone, 5-ASA, GED, CLA) significantly induce the expression of TSLP 2. The PPARγ antagonist (GW9662) significantly decrease the expression of TSLP 2. The response element activated by PPARγ is identified in the promoter of the short form TSLP gene by chromatin immunoprecipitation and gene reporter assays. The expression of TSLP2 was significantly decreased in the colonic mucosa of UC patients compared to controls and was correlated with PPARγ expression. The PPARγ agonists don’t induce the expression of the gene encoding TSLP in mice. Finally, the results confirm that TSLP 2 has an anti-microbial peptide function. This work identified TSLP2 as a new PPARγ-target gene and support the hypothesis that, in UC, PPARγ deficiency in colonic mucosa could play a role in the loss of intestinal tolerance through an impaired sfTSLP expression

Повний текст джерелаMotivated by the links between the analytic properties of dynamical zeta functions and the resonances of the Laplace operator for non-compact problems, we study two classes of zeta functions related to the geodesic flow (whose dynamics are axiom A) on some infinite volume manifolds where the non-wandering set is of Cantor type. In the first case (open billiards), we show tha for generic obstacles, the corresponding zeta function has an analytic continuation to a polynomially decreasing neighborhood of the line of absolute ocnergence. In the second case (hyperbolic convex co-compact surfaces), we show, for the Selberg zeta function, the existence of a zero free strip on the feft of the line of absolute convergence. This résult implies an exponential error term for the prime orbit theorem of the geodesic flow

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis focuses on leaming and optimizing expensive functions, that is the design of algorithms that can learn to identify a concept, to approximate a function or to find an optimum given exemples of the concept or points of the function. The motivating application is learning and optimizing simplified models in numerical engineering, for industrial problems for which examples are costly to obtain. Lt is then a requirement to use as few examples as possible for learning: this is the main characteristic of active learning and expensive optimization. This work first focuses on the design and development of a new approach to active leaming, based on reinforcement learning. Theoretical groundings for the approach are laid out, and a software inspired by the approach, BAAL, enables experimental vaildation (publications: CAP09, ECML09). An extension of this approach for expensive optimisation was devised (publication: GECCO 2009). The second part of this work is interested in the potential and Iimits of active learning and optimisation on a theoretical angle. Proofs of sample complexity bounds for batch active learning are published in ECML 2010. Regarding noisy optimization, results on the minimal number of examples necessary to find an optimum on various class of functions were derived (LION 2010, EvoSTAR 2010)

Повний текст джерелаMost problems of physics and mechanics lead to partial differential equations. The many methods that exist are relatively low degree. In this thesis, we propose a method of very high degree. Our idea is to increase the order of interpolation function via a perturbation technique to avoid or reduce the difficulties caused by the high cost operations such as integrations. In dimension 1, the proposed technique is close to the P-version finite elements. At a basic level, approximates the solution by a power series of order p. In the case of a linear equation of order 2, the local resolution can build an element of degree, with two degrees of freedom per element. For nonlinear problems, a linearization of the problem by Newton's method is needed. Tests involving linear and nonlinear equations were used to validate the method and show that the technique has a similar convergence in the p-version finite elements. In dimension 2, the problem is discretized through reorganizing polynomials in homogeneous polynomials of degree k. After a definition of variables called principal and secondary combined with a vertical scanning field, the problem becomes a series of 1D problem. A collocation technique allows to take into account the boundary conditions and coupling conditions and determine the solution of the problem. The collocation technique coupled with the least-squares enabled to improve the initial results and has made more robust the perturbation technique

Повний текст джерелаA spin polarized band calculation based on a localized function method has been performed on MnO and NiO in their antiferromagnetic configuration. When the intra-atomic exchange is strong enough like in MnO, a gap appears between the majority and minority d bands which suffices to explain the insulating behaviour of that oxide. Further it has been show that a gap is systematically opened in each majority and minority band due in NiO is responsible for its semiconducting properties. Thus the p-d hybridization which prevents the gap formation in the NaCl structure leads to a satisfactory issue only when the magnetic ordering is taken into account

We then use the muffin-tin approximation to evaluate the KOHN and ROSTOKER'S fonctionnal of complex cristals (more than one atom per unit cell). We use the hexagonal structure of graphite and perform all calculations about the symetry of this structure and, use the criteriums of symmetry theory to calculate all the symmetried basis functions along the BRILLOUIN zone. We give an analytical and numerical method for the calculation of the structure coefficients of HAM and SEGALL. We use too the basis functions to developp a reduction of the numerical analysis and time calculation. We finally give the expressions of wave functions of graphite in term if linear combinations of spherical harmonics with the same quantum number 1, this is done for all irreductible representations of all the symmetry groups of wave vector

Second, The study of the Laplace equation, with non linear boundary condition g. Using the Min-Max method. First, we elaborate some essential tools to introduce our equations, then we present two indirect methods for solving the Poisson equation : there laxed barycentric Dirichlet-Neumann algorithm and the symmetric Dirichlet-Neumann algorithm. The first algorithm was introduced and studied by A. Quarteroni, A. Valli. We present in this work a new proof of its convergence. The second scheme presented is new : we give asymmetric version of the Dirichlet-Neumann condition. We prove that this algorithm is convergent. The theoretical results show that both of the discretization methods are convergent and estimation son the error of convergence are given. We test the two methods numerically, using Comsol with Matlab solver. We notice that the symmetric method converges faster than the barycentric one

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis considers a method which simplifies the mixing at different levels, depending on turbulence length and time scales. The analysis is here restricted to the case of homogeneous and isotropic turbulent flows. The model is based on elementary fluid particles considered in their different levels of neighborhoods. For each vicinity level, a specific mixing model is applied. The approach takes into account - from small to high length scales - laminar diffusion (Fick diffusion process), internal mixing into fluid particle (Kerstein model, 1988), external mixing between fluid particles contained into a same eulerian volume (inspired from the LMSE model developpef by Dopazo, 1974, or from the Curl model,1963) and turbulent dispersion (where lagrangian moves are computed). An internal clock organizes the sequence of applications of the different models. Each one is applied instantaneously at different periodic times. Two different cases have been studied. The first case is the time evolution of mixing between two components initially introduced in two different areas. The numerical results have been compared to those of Direct Numerical Simulations by Eswaran & Pope (1988). The time evolution of Probability Density Functions, and the evolutions of variance, symetry coefficient and flatness coefficient have been compared. A parametrical study of the parameter governing the sequence of application of the different models has been performed. The second case considers thermal mixing layers emitted from one or two hot films placed inside a grid turbulence with uniform mean flow. Numerical results are in qualitative agreement with the experimental results by Warhaft (1984)

Повний текст джерелаMesh adaptation is a powerful tool to obtain accurate aerodynamic simulations with limited cost. In the specific case of computation of aerodynamic functions (forces, moments, efficiency ...), goal-oriented methods based on the adjoint vector have been proposed. The aim of the thesis is the extension of a method of this type based on the total derivative dJ/dX of the aerodynamic output of interest, J, with respect to the volume mesh coordinates, X. The three common methods for calculating discrete gradient – the direct differentiation method, the parameter-adjoint method and mesh-adjoint method evaluating dJ/dX – have been studied first and coded in the elsA ONERA software for unstructured grids, for compressible inviscid and laminar flows. The second part of this work was has been to define a local sensor θ based on dJ/dX in order to identify zones where the volume mesh nodes position has a strong impact on the evaluation of the function J. This sensor is the selected indicator for different mesh adaptations for different flow regimes (subsonic, transonic, supersonic) for internal (blade and nozzle) and external (wing profile) aerodynamic configurations. The proposed method is compared to a well-known goal-oriented method (Darmofal and Venditti, 2001) and to a feature-based method ; it leads to very consistent results. very consistent results

Повний текст джерелаSpectral element methods on simplicial meshes, say TSEM, show both the advantages of spectral and finite elements methods, i. E. Spectral accuracy and geometric flexibility. A TSEM solver for the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is presented. In time it uses a projection method and in space polynomial basis functions of arbitrary degree. The so-called Fekete-Gauss TSEM is employed, i. E. Fekete (resp. Gauss) points of the triangle are used as interpolation (resp. Quadrature) points. For the sake of consistency, isoparametric elements are used to approximate curved geometries. The resolution algorithm is based on an efficient Schur complement methods, so that one only solves for the element boundary nodes. Moreover, the algebraic system is never assembled so that the number of degrees of freedom is not limiting. Examples of results are provided for classical benchmarks : the driven cavity flows, the flow between eccentric cylinders and the flow past a cylinder
