Анотація:

La cafeína es el psicoestimulante activo más consumido en el mundo. Disminuye la sensación de fatiga y la sensibilidad al dolor; además, estimula la actividad motora y genera una sensación de energía y un aumento en la capacidad para concentrarse. Objetivo: evaluar el efecto de la cafeína sobre el desempeño psicométrico en 14 estudiantes universitarios. Material y métodos: se utilizó el test de Terman-Merrill y fue aplicado antes y después de la prueba. Para la segunda medición, se formaron dos grupos de estudio, cada uno conformado por siete sujetos de manera aleatoria. A los integrantes del primer grupo se les dio 150 mg de cafeína y a los del segundo, 200 mg. Para evaluar los efectos se utilizaron las pruebas de Wilcoxon y U de Mann Whitney. Resultados: se observó que, tras la ingesta de cafeína, hay una mejora significativa en algunos parámetros de la cognición del test Terman-Merril, como son el vocabulario (p=0.029), síntesis (p=0.004), y abstracción (p=0.004). Se encontró que una dosis de 200 mg de cafeína ejerce mayor efecto sobre la capacidad de planeación (p=0.049) en comparación de la dosis de 150 mg. Conclusión: la cafeína (200 mg.) mejora significativamente algunos de los aspectos psicométricos del test Terman-Merril. LUXMÉDICA AÑO 15, NÚMERO 44, MAYO-AGOSTO 2020

Background: Kaposiform Hemangioendothelioma (KHE) is a rare vascular tumour of the infancy and of the first decade of life. It is locally aggressive and potentially life threatening when associated to consumptive coagulopathy, known as Kasabach-Merritt syndrome (KMS). No consensus or guideline for the therapy has been reached because of the lack of prospective trials and the different standard care suggestions are based on retrospective case series.Case report: We report the case of a 9-month-old male with KHE and KMS in which the initial response, obtained with prednisone and vincristine, was subsequently consolidated and strengthened by long-term treatment with sirolimus, an mTOR inhibitor. A summary of the published data is presented as well.Conclusions: The inhibition of mTOR pathway represents the most important therapeutic innovation introduced in the last few years for KHE. Our case shows the effectiveness and good tolerance of long-term therapy with sirolimus.Keywords: Kaposiform Hemangioendothelioma, Kasabach-Merrit syndrome, sirolimus, prednisone, vincristine

Анотація:

Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB), adalah salah satu dari 3 provinsi di Indonesia sebagai penghasil komoditas kedelai. Komoditas ini di Provinsi NTB dikembangkan sebagai menunjang komoditas kedelai nasional, yang selama ini masih dilakukan impor. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Bima, sebagai salah satu wilayah kabupaten di Provinsi NTB yang berpotensi dalam pengembangan komoditas kedelai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memetakan kelas kesesuaian lahan dalam pengembangan tanaman pangan, terutama tanaman kedelai (glycine max L merril) di Kabupaten Bima. Penelitian ini berguna sebagai bahan informasi dan rekomendasi terkait kesesuaian lahan serta dapat dijadikan dasar pengembangan budidaya tanaman kedelai pada lahan kering. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode survei dan metode pengumpulan data sekunder berupa peta dan data spasial dari instansi yang terkait. Pengelompokan kelas kesesuaian lahan pada setiap unit lahan menggunakan sistim overlay atau tumpang tepat dengan berpedoman pada kriteria kesesuaian lahan tanaman kedelai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelas kesesuaian lahan kering actual, pada kelas cukup sesuai (S2) adalah seluas 3.244,20 ha dengan prosentase sebesar 20,12%; kelas kesesuaian lahan kering sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 28.108,12 ha dengan prosentase 78,43%; dan kelas kesesuaian lahan tidak sesuai (N) sebesar 744 ha dengan prosentase paling kecil yaitu 1,45%. Dengan demikian, potensi lahan kering untuk pengembangan tanaman kedelai (glycine max L merril) di Kabupaten Bima sangat besar yaitu 31.352,32 ha.Abstract: West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, is one of 3 provinces in Indonesia as a producer of soybean commodity. This commodity in NTB Province was developed to support the national soybean commodity, which has been still imported. This research was conducted in Bima Regency as one of the districts in NTB Province which has the potential for developing soybean commodities. This study aims to map land suitability classes for the development of food crops, especially soybean (glycine max (L.) Merrill) in Bima Regency. This research is useful as information and recommendations related to land suitability and can be used as a basis for developing soybean cultivation on dry land. The research method used is the survey method and secondary data collection methods such as maps and spatial data from related agencies. Classification of land suitability classes for each land unit uses an overlay or overlapping system based on criteria of the land suitability for soybean crops. The results showed that suitability class of dry land quite suitable (S2) is 3,244.20 ha with a percentage of 20.12%; suitability class of dry land marginally suitable (S3) covering an area of 28,108.12 ha with a percentage of 78.43%; and unsuitable land suitability class (N) is 744 ha with the smallest percentage of 1.45%. Therefore, the potential of dry land for the development of soybean crop (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) in Bima is very large, that is 31,352.32 ha or 98.55% of the total dry land in Bima Regency.

Telah dilakukan analisis kadar protein dan vitamin C dalam kedelai hitam (Glycine soja (L.) Merrill) dan kedelai kuning (Glycine max (L.) juga tahu dengan beberapa pengerjaan yang berbeda dengan rata-rata perbedaan kadar yang didapat selisih 1% lebih besar kadar kedelai hitam (Glycine soja (L.) Merrill) dibanding kedelai kuning (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) untuk persentasi kadar protein. Sedang untuk kadar vitamin C selisihnyaa tidak mencapai angka 1% namun tetap saja kadar tertinggi dimiliki oleh kedelai hitam (Glycine soja (L.) Merrill) maupun produk olahan tahunya. Pada Uji hedonik yang dilakukan terhadap tahu goreng kedelai hitam (Glycine soja (L.) Merrill) dan tahu goreng kedelai kuning (Glycine max (L.) didapatkan persentasi kesukaan para panelis sebesar 80,66% dan 6733%. Kata Kunci : Kedelai, Tahu Kedelai Kuning, Tahu Kedelai Hitam, Protein, Vitamin C. ABSTRACT We analyzed the levels of protein and vitamin C in the black soybean (Glycine soja (L.) Merrill) and yellow soybean (Glycine max (L.) is also out with a few different treatments with an average difference of differences in levels gained 1% larger levels of black soybean (Glycine soja (L.) Merrill) than yellow soybeans (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) to the percentage of protein content. Moderate to high levels of vitamin C difference not reach the 1% but still owned by the highest levels of black soybean (Glycine soja (L.) Merrill) and processed him. Hedonic In the test conducted on the fried tofu black soybean (Glycine soja (L.) Merrill) and fried tofu yellow soybean (Glycine max (L.) A percentage obtained by the panelists 80.66% and 6733%.

The Kasabach–Merritt phenomenon is a rare thrombocytopenic consumption of coagulopathy that occurs against the background of such vascular anomalies as kaposiform hemangioendothelioma and giant angioma. Timely diagnosis and treatment of Kasabach–Merritt syndrome which includes therapy for vascular tumors and life‑threatening conditions are critical in resolving this rare vascular anomaly. The aim of the study is to analyze radiation therapy as salvage therapy for kaposiform hemangioendothelioma and giant angioma associated with the Kasabach–Merritt phenomenon.

The purpose of this study was to discover The Portrayal of Merrick Rocha’s Loneliness in “Taken” by Kellie Maine using Psychological Approach. The loneliness issue and its impacts were able to be perceived by discovering the reasons and the impacts of loneliness. Qualitative research was held in this study. The result of this study showed that the writer could find four reasons of Merrick Rocha’s loneliness and three positive ways to reduce his loneliness inside Taken by Kelli Maine. Those four reasons behind Merrick Rocha’s loneliness are (1) Being Unattached, (2) Alienation, (3) Being Alone, and (4) Dislocation. For the ways or impacts of loneliness, this study found three positive impacts such as (1) Active Solitude, (2) Distraction by Spending Money, (3) Active Solitude. Анотація:

Objective Kasabach-Merritt syndrome is a rare disease that mainly occurs in infants and adolescents. It usually manifests as disseminated intravascular coagulation and severe bleeding, and is associated with high mortality. However, its low incidence and clinical rarity in adults mean that there is currently no well-verified treatment regimen for this disease. We report on an effective novel therapeutic regimen in a patient with Kasabach-Merritt syndrome. Methods A woman with Kasabach-Merritt syndrome presented with a recurrent subcutaneous mass and disseminated intravascular coagulation, and was treated with prednisone, vincristine and thalidomide. Results This treatment regimen successfully resolved the patient’s symptoms, with tumor regression. The patient remained disease-free after 6 years of follow-up. Conclusions Prednisone combined with vincristine and thalidomide may be an effective treatment for Kasabach-Merritt syndrome, but further studies are needed to verify the use of this regimen.

Анотація:

Introduction Kasabach-Merritt syndrome is characterized by the association of a consumptive thrombohemorrhagic disorder and angioma occurring usually in children. In the present study, a case of Kasabach-Merritt syndrome associated to an angiosarcoma of the breast is reported. Clinical History The tumor together with the thrombohemorrhagic disorder manifested in a 28-year-old woman. The patient underwent mastectomy. The tumor recurred in the same site 2 years later. The patient died of severe anemia 8 years after the first appearance of the angiosarcoma. Material and Methods Tissues were formalin fixed and paraffin embedded; in addition, selected sections were immunohistochemically stained. Results and Conclusions A well-differentiated angiosarcoma was visible throughout the removed organ. A review of the literature showed that only 6 cases of Kasabach-Merritt syndrome associated to malignant vascular tumors have been previously reported. All these 6 cases occurred in adult patients. On the contrary, Kasabach-Merritt syndrome associated to benign vascular tumors affects children. This is the first case occurring in the breast.

Анотація:

James Merrill Safford (1822-1907), famous for geological investigations of Tennessee, taught chemistry and biology, as well as geology, for 52 years. He held administrative posts in medicine, and his teaching, even of geology, was mostly to would-be physicians, engineers and pharmacists. His education in Silliman's laboratory at Yale, during 1847, probably was the key to his success. From 1848 to 1873 he taught full-time at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee, except for leave in 1854-56 to work for the geological survey of Tennessee. During the Civil War hiatus, 1862-1866, he taught preparatory languages on a private basis, operated his farm, and investigated oil and gas properties. After 1875, Safford held part-time teaching posts. He was a half-time Professor of Geology and Biology at Vanderbilt University and taught chemistry as a proprietor in a Medical Department jointly operated by Vanderbilt and the University of Nashville. He was also secretary of the Medical Faculty and Dean of the Pharmacy Department at Vanderbilt. Safford was a pleasant, friendly man, who quoted classical poetry and lead early morning prayers. Through 1869, his professional contributions mainly consisted of survey work in geology. Later he mainly applied geology to health, agriculture, and resource development.

Hasil laboratorium menunjukkan adanyaanemia hemolitik dan trombositopenia sebagai akibat gangguan koagulasi konsumtif.Pemeriksaan MRA (magnetic resonance angiography) menunjukkan adanya hemangiomkavernosa besar di seluruh otot tungkai atas kanan dengan tanda infiltrasi ke dalamrongga pelvis. Tidak tampak tanda organomegali dan hidronefrosis. Pada pasien initidak dilakukan biopsi karena dikhawatirkan terjadinya perdarahan. Terapi yang diberikanialah kombinasi triamsinolon dan bleomisin. Kombinasi kedua obat tersebut memberikanrespons yang baik, terlihat terjadi pengecilan lesi dan perbaikan parameter hematologis.Tindakan operasi tidak dilakukan karena lesi yang terlalu besar, namun ternyata denganterapi konservatif dapat mangatasi menifestasi klinis yang timbul.

Анотація:

Background: Kasabach-Merritt syndrome (KMS) is a consumptive coagulopathy associated with the presence of a large vascular lesion. It is often a frustrating condition to treat and it carries a high mortality rate. There are currently no known treatment guidelines. Kasabach-Merritt syndrome is associated with kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE) and tufted angioma (TA); these lesions, when associated with KMS, are locally invasive, aggressive vascular tumors. Treatment options include supportive care, local therapies, and drug and surgical management. In most recent case reports, a multimodal approach to therapy is taken. Objective and Conclusion: The objective of this article is to provide a comprehensive review of KMS and give an up-to-date summary of treatment options. The clinical presentation, laboratory findings, vascular pathology, and pathophysiology will also be discussed.
