Commitment to a romantic relationship is a developmental task of early adulthood that usually manifests as marriage. The government has established a minimum age of marriage for both men and women. Nonetheless, specific regions in West Java still witness marriages of couples under this prescribed age when early marriage can bring difficulties for young couples adjusting their roles as husband or wife, parents, and partaking in childcare and conflict resolution. This issue is evident in Cipacing, Jatinangor, with many instances of adolescent marriages, child stunting cases, and adolescents committing risky behaviors. Thus, the present Community Engagement (PPM) program aims to provide knowledge and awareness for adolescents and early adults regarding the significance of preparatory measures before marriage. The activity focuses on educating the meaning of marriage, essential premarital preparations, and self-identification related to marriage readiness. A total of 40 adolescents and early adults participated in the activity. Our analysis of pre-and post-test scores revealed improved mean scores by a majority of participants, indicating increased knowledge. Recommendations for future activities include optimizing the socialization process by adopting a more concise timeframe and employing a delivery method that ensures ease of comprehension, allowing the next program to run more efficiently and effectively.

<p style="text-align: justify;">The paper is devoted to the theoretical review of psychological difficulties in the adaptation of migrant women, who moved to a new country due to family reunification. In this article, psychological difficulties are understood as any internal barriers, violations, failures, etc., that prevents optimal adaptation, in this case, of migrants. The focus of research by modern scientists is aimed at studying socially disadvantaged migrants and labor migrants. There is not enough research on women who have moved to a new country with their husbands. Four groups of psychological difficulties were identified that impede the successful adaptation of women, as well as the clinical manifestations associated with these difficulties: women&rsquo;s expectations regarding interaction with society do not coincide with society&rsquo;s expectations which contributes to the emergence of frustration and deprivation; the predominance of external motivation when moving to another country (following a husband) results in loss of work and familiar environment which often leads to depression and/or somatization; the predominance of compelled contacts in the structure of communication causes an increased irritability; self-image as a migrant before the move does not coincide with real self-image in a new country generates intrapersonal conflicts.</p>

The study of Juridical Analysis of Divorce Due to Early Marriage aims to determine the regulation of early marriage in positive law in Indonesia and to determine dispute resolution (divorce) due to early marriage. This study uses a normative juridical approach. The research method used in this research is descriptive analytical method, which is a research method by processing data, analyzing, researching and interpreting as well as making conclusions and providing suggestions which are then arranged in a systematic discussion so that the problem can be understood. The type of research used is normative law research. The results show that families experiencing economic difficulties will tend to marry off their children at a young age, this marriage is expected to be a solution to the economic difficulties experienced by families, marriage is expected to reduce the family's economic burden. Another influence is due to the low level of education that encourages them to get married quickly. Because they do not understand how marriage really is, the occurrence of pregnancy out of wedlock, because children have relationships that violate the norms forcing them to have early marriages in order to clarify the children conceived by this marriage force them to marry. There are still many women in Indonesia who marry underage for various reasons such as customs, economy, and other things that are not desirable. In fact, according to Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Amendments to Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage, it is stated that marriage is only permitted if the man and woman are 19 years old.

Child marriage is a marriage performed by youth under the age of 19. There were 27 cases of child marriage in 2019 in Sigi Biromaru District and in 2020 there has been an increase of 46 cases. Purpose This study aims to examine the impact caused by child marriage in Kalukubula Village Method This type of research uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. The population in this study were all women who had child marriages in the village of Kalukubula. Informant collection techniques in this study using Snowball Sampling. Data were collected by in-depth interview techniques using interview guidelines. The informants in this study were 10 informants, 5 main informants, namely women who had child marriages, 4 parents as key informants, and the head of KUA as additional informants. Results obtained are that the impact of child marriage is Psychological Impact, stress due to unpreparedness in managing the household and in taking care of children, Biological Impact, is an impact that occurs on health, economic impact, due to difficulties in finding work due to low educational status, Impact Education is one of the impacts of child marriage due to dropping out of school so that when married it is difficult to find jobs. Conclusion Child marriage in Kalukubula Village has psychological, biological, economic and educational impacts. It is recommended that local government parents prevent child marriage from occurring.

Bali Island is an island that has art, culture and natural beauty. The majority of the population inhabiting the island of Bali are Balinese people who adhere to the Hindu religion. A tourist destination in Bali that is well known to domestic tourists and tourists from various countries is Peliatan Village. An amalgamation marriage is a marriage that takes place between two people of different ethnicities. This meeting between local Balinese residents and foreign tourists is a factor in the occurrence of an amalgamation marriage. This Japanese citizen who married an ethnic Balinese man adapted between cultures to maintain their interactions and relationships with everything in their new environment. This research was conducted using qualitative methods and used descriptive research. The main data collection techniques are observation and interviews. The aim of this research is to determine intercultural communication patterns in the process of social interaction in amalgamation marriages. Based on the results of data analysis, thatThe process of intercultural communication patterns in husband and wife couples carrying out amalgamation marriages in Peliatan village found that there were several difficulties in carrying out social interactions experienced by Japanese citizens to get used to their new environment, and there were difficulties communicating at the beginning due to different languages.

This study seeks to present effective psychological counseling support measures for multicultural families formed through international marriages, including culturally sensitive counseling approaches, intercultural communication strategies, and the role of cultural mediators. In modern society, international marriages are becoming an increasingly common phenomenon, and the formation of multicultural families is also increasing. However, such international marriages and the formation of multicultural families bring about various challenges and concerns. In particular, difficulties, identity conflicts, and communication barriers due to cultural differences between members of multicultural families have a great impact on the psychological aspect. Multicultural families face problems such as multicultural adjustment stress, communication difficulties, and identity conflicts. This study is expected to review foreign cases of multicultural families through international marriage and promote the development of social integrated counseling programs.

This paper describes and evaluates the adaption of Behavioural Marital Therapy (BMT) to the needs of a couple in a secondary marriage (the husband was in his second marriage and brought three dependent children to this marriage). The couple presented with specific difficulties in negotiating parenting roles within the reconstituted family. BMT focused on promoting adaptive cognitions, affect and communication when discussing this specific issue. Evaluation used a multiple probe design assessing self-monitored stressful interactions about parenting, and daily marital satisfaction. Results showed significant reductions in the intensity and frequency of arguments from pre- to post-therapy, and increases in marital satisfaction. These gains were maintained at follow-up. Discussion focuses on future directions for adapting BMT to problems particular to secondary marriages.

Introduction: Child marriage is a concerning issue associated with various health and social problems, including stress, suicide, despair, low self-esteem, family and social difficulties, limited job choices, financial dependence, and school dropout. Objectives: This study determined the relationship between marriage readiness cards and the improvement of adolescent knowledge in unraveling child marriages. Methods: The research utilized a cross-sectional design conducted at the adolescent health post within the Pantoloan Community Health Center's working area in July 2023. Purposive sampling involved 36 respondents, and data collection utilized a 10-question questionnaire. Univariate and bivariate analyses (Wilcoxon) were applied to the collected data, presented through tables and narrative descriptions. Results: The research findings indicated a significant improvement in adolescent knowledge after the intervention, as evidenced by a negative rank of 0 and a positive rank of 5, with a statistically significant p-value of 0.000. In conclusion, engaging educational media, such as marriage readiness cards, proved effective in enhancing respondents' knowledge. This study recommends community health centers to adopt educational media that capture adolescents' attention for more impactful health promotion initiatives.

AbstractForced marriage was endemic during the Sierra Leonean conflict. Girls and women forced to serve as 'wives' to rebel soldiers were usually expected to submit to ongoing rape and to provide domestic labour to their 'husbands'. Many of these 'wives' suffer from continuing stigmatization. The Prosecutor of the Special Court for Sierra Leone brought forced marriage charges as a crime against humanity through the category of inhumane acts against Brima, Kamara and Kanu, affiliated with the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC), and Sesay, Kallon and Gbao, affiliated with the Revolutionary United Front (RUF). This article considers two benefits stemming from the resulting jurisprudence: the naming of forced marriage as an inhumane act and the acknowledgement of forced marriage as a violation not captured by other legal terms. However, conceptual difficulties remain: how should forced marriage be defined so as to fulfil the principle of nullum crimen sine lege? Is forced marriage more accurately labelled as enslavement? And, is conjugality accurately captured as a defining feature of forced marriage? If forced marriage is to be successfully prosecuted in other contexts – for example, in the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia – then more attention must be paid to resolving these questions.

Marriage is a physical and spiritual bond between a man and a woman as husband and wife with the aim of forming a happy and eternal family based on Belief in One Almighty God. Young or early age marriage is a marriage that is carried out when they are not yet 20 years old, both male and female. So that this age becomes one of the obstacles for himself, his family and society to achieve a good life stability. Based on the provisions of Law Number 16 of 2019 it states that marriage is only permitted if a man and a woman have reached the age of 19, whereas in the previous Law No. 1 of 1974 the minimum age for marriage for women was 16 years and for men 19 years old. From underage marriages there are several social problems faced, including promiscuity due to lack of control and effective communication from parents, economic factors, low education factors, cultural and traditional factors, and mass media factors. The fact is that the implementation of marriage at an early age has a negative impact on children, both physically and mentally. Based on the Study Report on Child Marriage in Indonesia, high rates of early marriage can increase the risk of death for mothers and children. Some examples of impacts that can result from early marriage include health problems, the risk of babies born with stunting, hampered education, and inharmonious marriages. Early marriage will certainly lead to underage work because like it or not, early age couples have to make a living for their next life. Because they are underage, of course finding a job will be difficult, this will result in economic difficulties and in the long term, child neglect. In other words, underage marriage can be contrary to the objectives of Islamic law and therefore the Jombang Religious Court prevents underage child marriages in Jombang Regency.

In the article the author actualizes the problem of female marriage migration to South Korea at the beginning of new millennium. The author proves the interconnection of demographic and socio-cultural characteristics and the level of satisfaction with marriage of migrant women. The paper is based on the statistical data analysis in South Korea from 2000 to 2017 and respondents interviews. The territorial boundaries of the sample of respondents covered Seoul, Busan, Ansan and small satellite cities around Seoul.The paper studies the specifics of the process of international marriage migration of CIS citizens, the socio-demographic analysis of marriage. On the basis of statistical information, as well as in-depth interviews of CIS women who were married to Korean citizens, the features of interethnic marriages, the difficulties of adaptation of Russian-speaking migrants in marriage in South Korea, as well as the level of satisfaction in marriage were found. The actuality to study the behaviour of the CIS citizens in the marriage market of South Korea is urged to reduce the risks of its inefficiency and to determine the direction of further policy of government and public organizations.

Marriage is an inner and outer bond between a man and a woman as husband and wife to form a happy and eternal family (household) based on God Almighty. In the Law of the Republic of Indonesia, Number 1 of 1974 Article concerning Marriage, marriage itself has conditions, including that it must be approved by both prospective brides, and prospective brides who have not reached the age of 21 years must obtain permission from both parents. 1 Chapter II Article 7 Paragraph 1 of 1974 has explained that marriage is only permitted if the man reaches the age of 19 years and the woman has reached the age of 16 years. The type of research used is qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive study research design. The informants in this study were teenagers at SMA X South Tangerang. The informants who will be interviewed are 4 informants who are in high school. The results of this study indicate that there are undesirable events such as pregnancy out of wedlock because children have relationships that violate norms, forcing them to have early marriages, to clarify the status of the child they are carrying Economic difficulties are one of the factors causing early marriage, families who experience economic difficulties will tend to marry off their children at a young age to have early marriages. The impact of early marriage for women who are less educated and not ready to carry out their role as mothers will be less able to educate their children so that children will grow up poorly, which will be detrimental to the children's future. Then, under certain conditions, children who marry early tend not to pay attention to their education, especially when they get married immediately they get offspring, they will be busy taking care of their children and their families, so this can prevent them from continuing their studies to a higher level.

Objectives: It has been proposed that legislation for same-sex marriage has a positive mental health benefit. The purpose of this paper is to review and evaluate the empirical and conceptual links between same-sex marriage and mental health. Conclusions: There are substantive methodological issues in the four surveys and comparisons undertaken. Difficulties with the validity of the evidence are discussed. Conceptual difficulties in the arguments relating to victimisation as well as the psychology of marriage are highlighted. It was concluded that it is premature to make claims of causality vis-a-vis same-sex marriage legislation and mental health.

Regent Regulations (Perbup) of Gunungkidul Number 36 Year 2015 Concerning Prevention of Marriage at the Age of Child is a special regulation regarding the efforts, programs, actions, activities used by the government agencies of Gunungkidul Regency in order to prevent and reduce the number of marriages at the age of child. Wonosari Religious Court statistics show a decrease in the number of submissions for marriage dispensations from 2015 to 2017 after the enactment of this regulation. In 2015 there were 109 cases of marriage dispensation, in 2016 there were 85 cases of marriage dispensation, in 2017 there were 65 cases of marriage dispensation. In its implementation, this regulation has benefits because it forms the basis of human life (maslahah dharuriyyah). This regulation has also answered the problems that humans need to eliminate the difficulties they face (maslahah hajiyyah). In addition, this regulation has preserved the wisdom and goodness of manners and social and cultural beauty (maslahah tahsiniyyah). Seen from its implementation, Perbup Gunungkidul Number 36 of 2015 concerning Prevention of Marriage at the Age of Child is in accordance with the principles of problem solving.

Mayelane v Ngwenyama 2013 4 SA 415 (CC) is arguably the most important judgment concerning the recognition of customary marriages in recent times. This article attempts to unpack some of the many issues that arise from the case, namely: (a) the practical difficulties associated with ascertaining living customary law and the problems of identifying legal versus social norms; (b) the meaning of consent as a requirement of a customary marriage; (c) the implications of the case for equality between multiple wives in a customary marriage, and as between wives across customary marriages of different cultural traditions; and (e) the implications of the case for equality considerations more broadly. While the authors sympathise with the court in respect of the complex decision before it, it questions the Court's method and result, specifically for the equality rights of a second (or further) "wife" in a Vatsonga customary marriage. The authors suggest that the issues should be put to democratic deliberation by the legislative arm, rather than leaving courts in the unenviable position of having to decide these matters.

This article explores the controversial kinship practice in mainland China of ‘gay’ men marrying unwitting women. It questions the ‘marriage fraud’ discourse that condemns the men involved while pitying their wives, or tongqis. Taking an ethnographic approach, this article considers the major flaws of this popular discourse: the idealized-package of marriage–love–sex, the oft-neglected difficulties of living outside marriage, and most importantly, the essentialization of homosexuality. It also examines the im/possibility for married ‘gay’ men to be honest in their marriages. Finally, it cautions that honesty, if used as a decontextualized ethical yardstick for queer kinship, may obscure the racist and homophobic prejudices that exist both outside and inside queer communities. Accordingly, this article proposes that we shift to ‘opacity’ as an epistemological, methodological and ethical parameter that radically queers kinship (studies).

Marital indissolubility is a contentious issue in contemporary Catholic marriages. This qualitative study interviewed eight wives who have endured suffering in their marriages while remaining faithful to the gospel and Church teachings. They viewed their suffering as an ascetic path that leads to spiritual growth. This research explores Saint John of the Cross’s theology of detachment to understand marital suffering. Asceticism within marriage is seen as a means to achieve deeper self-giving to one’s spouse and God. Detachment, a core element of asceticism, purifies one’s being, fostering spiritual growth. John of the Cross’s detachment theology can help couples see their suffering as an avenue to detachment, facilitating divine purification and the ability to transcend marital difficulties without being bound by anything outside of God. This suggests that detachment is a relevant concept in fostering spiritual growth and enhancing self-giving in marriage.

Although research has examined marital satisfaction in later life, little is known about the specific relationship challenges that older couples experience. Thus, the objective of the study was to explore the challenges older couples face. Data came from the USC Longitudinal Study of Generations. Qualitative analysis was conducted on 105 older couples, with an average age of 69, who responded in 1997 to an open-ended question about difficulties, disagreements, and disappointments in their marriage. Ten themes emerged from the data. In order of frequency, they were leisure activities, intimacy, finances, no problems, personality, intergenerational relations, household concerns, personal habits, health issues, and work/retirement. Comparisons in responses were made for age, gender, marital quality, length of marriage, and health. In addition, the dyadic data were examined for patterns within the relationship.

AbstractThe traditional understanding of the sacramentality of marriage, introduced by Augustine, systematized by the medieval scholastics, and still central to Catholic institutional thought, has in recent years been criticized as being internally incoherent and externally counterfactual. These difficulties may be perceived within the frame of reference provided by Thomas Kuhn to be anomalies such as those that can be expected to appear during a transition from normal science to a new paradigm for explaining the data once satisfactorily accounted for by that science. A new paradigm or conceptual frame of reference is proposed for the sacramentality of marriage, and evidence is presented that this new paradigm is in fact emerging in the theological literature on marriage. The reader is cautioned, however, that the emerging paradigm of marriage's sacrmentality is not what it is usually thought to be.

The subject of interfaith marriage in Indonesia, including its pros and cons, has been in the public purview recently. This research aims to answer public concerns, provide recommendations for strengthening regulations, and even prevent this type of marriage. A qualitative method alongside a sociological approach was applied, while data collection techniques included interviews and literature studies. It was concluded through sadd al-żarī'ah analysis, that interfaith marriage should be prohibited as it only leads to harm and difficulties in households and families. Furthermore, fatḥ al-żarī'ah analysis of the marriage of a Muslim man to an Ahlu al-Kitab woman is permitted by the majority of scholars. This is due to the possibility of benefits, namely the opportunity to guide the woman to embrace Islam. it is emphasized that this possibility is relative, as the Muslim man may change his faith. Therefore, this facility (al-żarī'ah) should not be opened (fatḥ al-żarī'ah). The implications of this study recommend sadd al-żarī'ah as material for consideration in strengthening the rules regarding interfaith marriages in the future. Moreover, the polemic of interfaith marriage should be resolved immediately by affirming and enforcing changes to the marriage law. Legal vacuums in the regulation of this matter should not be allowed or ignored due to the negative impact in terms of social and religious life.

Purpose – In the procedural rules of marriage within the Indonesian Islamic society, it is stipulated that marriages must be officially recorded and published in accordance with Marriage Law No. 1 of 1974. In reality, not all segments of the Indonesian population adhere to the established procedures or rules. This is evidenced by the fact that a portion of the population in the Tualang District of Siak Regency still engages in unregistered marriages that are not officially documented or published, which deviates from the provisions of Law No. 1 of 1974 on Marriage and the Compilation of Islamic Law. This study aimed to identify the factors underlying the occurrence of unregistered marriages in the Tualang District. Methods – To achieve this objective, the researcher employed qualitative research methodology. Data collection was carried out using observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data validity testing technique used was triangulation of sources and methods. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive analysis model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Findings – The research findings indicate that the practice of unregistered marriages in the Tualang District is similar to regular marriages, with the key distinction being the lack of official documentation. The factors contributing to unregistered marriages in the Tualang District include: out-of-wedlock pregnancies, economic factors, and the desire for polygamy. Research implications/limitations – The impacts of unregistered marriages on the community include ease of conducting marriages, difficulties in obtaining birth certificates for children, a higher likelihood of divorce, document forgery, and conflicts. Originality/value – The results of this research are expected to be a practical reference for the community and government to overcome the problem of nikah siri. The factors that cause nikah siri described in this research can be an illustration for the government to be able to formulate policies related to the problem of siri marriage.

Tajdid Nikah is renewing the marriage, with the meaning that there has been a valid marriage contract according to the syara', then with the intention of being Ihtiyath (be careful) and making the heart comfortable, the marriage contract is carried out one more time or more. If we classify the occurrence of tajdid Nikah in the hamlet of Dawuhan Suco Lor, there are two kinds, first the newlyweds, this part is divided into two more, namely; (1) based on auspicious days (according to Javanese calculations), for example when registering, KUA determines the date of August 15, 2022, while according to Javanese calculations it is a good day on August 2, 2022, then the newlyweds have a contract first with the Kiai, then on August 15, 2022, the contract will be again at KUA for the second time. (2) the newlywed couple or one of them, whose age does not meet the marriage law, then the marriage is still carried out, after the age meets the marriage law, the contract is again held at the KUA. Second, old brides, these two also have two, (1) because there, for one year, must occur, experiencing difficulties, difficulties in overcoming difficulties, words are thrown out without realizing it. (2) based on a figure's suggestion, for example, if the contract is repeated, the sustenance will be increased, the household life will be more harmonious and so on. With regard to the 'ulama' Tajdid Nikah, there are several differences of opinion. The first is of the opinion that the Tajdid Nikah is not acceptable because it can damage the first marriage contract. The second opinion of the majority of scholars, who say that the Tajdid Nikah is legal and does not damage the marriage contract, not as an acknowledgment of the damage to the first contract. So that it does not reduce the number of talak counts, because most of the purposes of tajdid are as a form of confirmation or caution.

Same-sex marriage is a controversial issue between supporters and opponents, it even causes profound social divisions. The right to marry is considered a sacred right in each life. By this right, a family will be formed and linked with affection and sharing among family members. Therefore, protecting the right to marry of same-sex people will ensure the social value of the law, towards fairness - a noble goal of the law. More and more countries and territories around the world recognize same-sex marriage or other forms of registered coupling. This is a progressive trend that meets the needs and guarantees the rights of homosexuals. Moreover, the recognition of same-sex marriage also has positive effects on the family and society as shown by various scientific studies around the world. Vietnam is one of the countries taking relative late actions to build the rights for gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) people in general and LGBT right to marry in particular. The lack of regulations on the recognition of same-sex marriage has obviously led to many significant difficulties faced by LGBT people. Within the scope of this article, based on the analysis of same-sex marriage from the perspective of human rights, the author indicates the current situation of same-sex marriage in Vietnam, surveys and evaluates the difficulties of recognition of same-sex marriage, and thereby proposes some solutions to recognize and ensure the right to marry of LGBT people in Vietnam.

The data used is secondary data consisting of primary legal materials in the form of Law no. 1 of 1974, KHI (Compilation of Islamic Law), and secondary legal materials in the form of books, journals and writings related to research titles. The problem for anyone who enters into a marriage even though it is with religiously valid pillars and conditions but not registered causes more disadvantages than advantages. As a result of unregistered marriages, there will be difficulties in processing important letters as administrative requirements in civil affairs. In addition, it is not legally recognized because it does not give rise to civil relations as husband and wife.

Behind the phenomenon of child marriage, there are several relations of relationships that run it from generation to generation. This study aims to find the power relationships behind the marriage of my child that is Nujood, Age 10, and Divorce. This study uses qualitative methods and readings as data collection. The results of this study indicate that there are three power relationships behind the marriage of children: child marriage as a form of preservation of tradition from generation to generation, marriage of children as a solution to the difficulties of the family financial condition, and marriage of children as a form of preservation of illiterate women.

Unnatural marriage can’t be classified as a natural and legal contract. Note that both natural and unnatural forms of marriage have their own principles. Therefore, the recent research aims at analyzing the main reasons against unnatural marriage using analytical and library methods with regard to the fact that unnatural marriage has threatened standard marriage and family foundation. In this research, we rely on verses of Quran. The majority of people, especially among the Urhobo, seem to view marriage as their final resort when it comes to getting over issues like loneliness, sexual tension, and social, cultural, economic, and political constraints. However, marriages built on these flimsy foundations frequently end in a string of breakdowns when faced with difficulties, which results in the breaking of marital vows. Due to the above, this work examines the morality of Christian couples in Urhoboland, Delta State, and Nigeria who break their marital vows. The inquiry made use of both analytical and phenomenological approaches. This work was evaluated using a systematic questionnaire and unstructured oral interviews. As a result, 12 churches in six local government areas were selected (Ethiopia East, Ethiopia West, Udu, Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Sapele Local Government Areas). The phenomenological and analytical procedures were used due to the versatility of survey designs, which allow for a wide range of data collection techniques. The investigation in this work was done under two headings: factors responsible for violations of marriage vows and effects of marriage vow violations on couples, families, and society. This study shows a number of elements that contribute to marital vow breaches as well as the repercussions such violations have on individuals, families, and society. The participants agree that, in general, Christian married couples who divorce have a sense of autonomy and freedom from abusive marriages. This essay contends that since they broke their marital vows, both partners frequently experience severe spiritual regression.

This study aims to explore the implementation of marriage guidance services (hereinafter referred to as “BINWIN”) as one of the programs of the Mayong District Office of Religious Affairs and the Sakinah Family Service Center. The study seeks to examine the inhibiting and supporting factors affecting the implementation of the BINWIN program by obtaining a comprehensive picture of the program as a policy issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs to prevent the practice of Siri (unregistered) marriages and to determine the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing the implementation of the program. The results of implementing the Marriage Guidance Service (BINWIN) at the Mayong District Office of Religious Affairs, Jepara Regency, indicated that the supporting factor is having the legal umbrella of Regulation No. 373 of the Director-General of Islamic Community Guidance of 2017, subsequently amended by Regulation No. 379 of the guidance of 2018, concerning pre-marriage guidance for prospective husbands and wives. The BINWIN program was restricted during the Covid-19 pandemic and was unable to give maximal support for prospective marriage couples; due to the pandemic, BINWIN could only be carried out individually without face-to-face meetings. Prospective couples working in companies and factories faced difficulties obtaining permission to attend the BINWIN program; thus, the program has not yet become a mandatory prerequisite for marriage. The time has come to declare the BINWIN certificate a prerequisite for marriage registration. Rights in Gender-Responsive Families need to be included in BINWIN materials. However, the number of facilitators trained by nationally certified instructors is still lacking. A minimal budget for BINWIN is currently sourced from the DIPA of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. It is expected that additional funds will be available within the funding ceiling for the future activities of BINWIN.

This paper considers the transition to adulthood in East Asia by exploring the experiences of single women between the ages of 25 and 45 years in the cities of Hong Kong, Shanghai and Tokyo. The paper argues that single women encounter difficulties negotiating marriage in the three cities due to problems in marriage markets, expectations of fertility upon marriage, and conflicts between educational and employment opportunities and marital roles. It also finds that in the three cities, women articulated two models of marriage, namely, a gender duty model based on expectations of gendered role fulfilment and a companionate model. The paper suggests that the specific configuration of marriage models differs in the three cities due to differences in the historical and social backgrounds of the cities and the larger national and regional contexts.

This study discusses the practice of implementing changes in the age limit of marriage that occur in Mattiro Sompe District. This type of research is descriptive qualitative field research. This study uses primary data sources, namely interviews with child marriage actors, the Head of the Office of Religious Affairs, and people who were considered related to the discussed topic. Meanwhile, the secondary data is from various relevant books and literature, such as RI Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Marriage and Child Protection Law Number 35 of 2014. The result of this research / scientific papers, articles, and other documents relevant to the research's substance. For tertiary data from legal dictionaries, Encyclopedias of Islam, magazines, and newspapers. The data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data processing and analysis techniques are carried out through three stages: data reduction, data presentation (data display), and conclusion drawing /verification. The results of this study show that the ratification of Law number 16 of 2019 is a legal product that binds every Indonesian citizen without exception, including the people of Mattiro Sompe District, as a basis or reference for those who will carry out marriages must be as regulated in Law number 16 of 2019 concerning the age limit of marriage. The social impact of the marriage age limit is based on Law number 16 of 2019, which has been implemented in the Mattiro Sompe District. The social conditions of the people of Mattiro Sompe District, which is the majority of farmers, affect responding to changes in this age limit so that they feel objections and difficulties when implementing it. Meanwhile, those with a higher education level feel the positive impact of this change in the marriage age limit. Meanwhile, the Head of KUA Subdistrict, Mattiro Sompe, in terms of psychology, puts pressure when an application is submitted from a close family or has a kinship relationship. The application of changes in the marriage age limit does not reduce the number of cases of child marriage in Mattiro Sompe District. Still, from 3 years, the application of the marriage age limit shows an increase every year and is dominated by women.

While the data analysis technique, the research carried out data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Then for the inspection technique and the validity of the data using member check. The research results show that: 1). Abstract Heiresses have been overlooked in seventeenth and eighteenth-century theatre criticism. When they are discussed, it is usually alongside the prodigal hero’s resolution of his financial difficulties and rakish behavior through marriage. Financially and sexually desirable, the heiress is therefore an important and influential character in the marriage plot. This article presents a literary historical analysis of the changing representation and function of the heiress in comedy, to argue that the evolvement of the heiress in the marriage plot reveals emergent and shifting discourses about money, family and sentiment in the long-eighteenth century. The treatment of the heiress on the eighteenth-century stage reflects a sentimental response to the role of money in marriage in line with the ideology of companionate marriage. Whereas, on the late seventeenth-century stage, the heiress acts as economic manager and wittily protects her financial interest.

Evelyn is a 35-year-old woman who presented to a psychiatrist with complaints of marriage difficulties. As she described some of these difficulties, she leaned forward, and her psychiatrist responded by changing her body posture and unfolding her arms. Evelyn explained that she had been brought up to be stoic in the face of difficulties. When she described some of the family's early circumstances, her expression became sad and her psychiatrist responded by furrowing her brow. Evelyn's parents had encouraged the kids to be self-reliant and independent; problems were not complained about, they were simply dealt with. At present, however, her situation felt overwhelming. She felt embarrassed to have to talk with a stranger about her marriage. Her psychiatrist reflected back, saying that her early family had obviously given her many strengths, and that it must be difficult to have to ask for help. At that point in the conversation, Evelyn's eyes misted over with tears.

This study aims to give an overview of the causes and consequences of child marriage by qualitative research using in-depth interview techniques. Participants were eight girls who married during their childhood and live in Java, Indonesia. Interviews were analyzed by using content analysis techniques. The results show that underlying factors causing child marriage, include the following: (1) unwanted pregnancy; (2) the influence of parents and the surrounding environment for fear of slander and unwanted things; (3) education; and (4) economy. The consequences of child marriage include: (1) dicontinuation of education; (2) economic instability; (3) violation of law, age falsification, unregistered marriage, difficulties in obtaining birth certificates; (4) deprivation of children's liberty and autonomy; (5) psychological problems; (6) violence; and (7) health problems especially in girls.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to apply Berry's acculturation theory to investigate the aspects of adaptation to the food culture of Vietnamese female marriage immigrants living in Korea, classify them into various adaptation types, and identify changes according to the period of residence. Methods This study targeted Vietnamese female marriage immigrants living in Incheon City. Participants were recruited by dividing them into three groups according to their residence period: less than 3 months, more than 3 years, and more than 6 years. Based on Berry's acculturation theory, a questionnaire was developed to understand the food culture adaptation process of Vietnamese female marriage immigrants. Afterwards, in-depth interviews were conducted individually with the participants to understand in detail their experiences and feelings about adapting to the food culture. Results As a result of analyzing the aspects of Vietnamese female marriage immigrants' adaptation to food culture in Korea using Berry's acculturation theory, the change in food culture adaptation according to the period of residence successfully adapts through stages from initial rejection to intermediate integration and final assimilation. The result was derived. The group of residents who lived for less than 3 months faced language difficulties and cultural adaptation challenges, while the group who lived for more than 3 years faced new food diversity and difficulties with language communication. Additionally, the group of residents living for more than 6 years confirmed the need to overcome language difficulties and adapt to healthy food choices, spicy food, and delivery culture. Conclusions Based on these results, various policy support was proposed, taking into account the areas that require response depending on the period of residence.

AbstractIn this article, the marriage characteristics of deaf men and women born in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Belgium are compared to each other, as well as to a group of non-deaf siblings and a group of Swedish deaf persons. The aim is to determine the extent to which the marriage pattern of deaf persons lined up with that of non-disabled persons and to see how experiences of disablement interacted with the environment in which persons dwelt. This article challenges the belief in a universal disability experience by arguing that although deaf individuals generally encountered more difficulties in finding a marriage partner, marriage chances were significantly dependent on personal characteristics such as gender, living environment and birth date. As such, we demonstrate that the relationship between being deaf and being vulnerable on the marriage market was not an inescapable one, but the product of specific environments.

The article looks at how marriage appears in Icelandic folk legend collections from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, while focusing on the portrayal of femininity and gendered power relations. The focus is on legends of women and nonsupernatural men as well as women and male outlaws, which are common in Icelandic folktale collections. The legends show women being forced into marriage, difficulties within marriage and eventually perhaps women’s hopes for a better life. The article considers the messages about and for women conveyed in the legends, bearing in mind that while legends tend to reflect the societies to which they belong, they can also potentially affect and shape their environments.

The validity of a marriage is the fulfillment of the pillars and conditions of marriage as stipulated in Islamic law. One of the pillars currently being discussed is the online Ijab and Qabul (marriage contract), considering the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been much news about online marriage ceremonies due to various constraints. Moreover, technology is becoming increasingly advanced and evolving, making human tasks easier. The aim of this study is to examine the legality of online marriage contracts that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses a qualitative research method with a library research type, referencing journals, articles, and books related to the main theme of online marriage contracts. All references, including legal and non-legal sources, are presented and then analyzed carefully. Scholars and fiqh experts have provided arguments about the validity of marriage through online contracts. According to the scholars, an online marriage contract is valid if what is meant by one assembly is one time, not one place. Thus, after the Ijab is stated, the Qabul must also be stated immediately. The research results show that marriage contracts conducted online during the COVID-19 pandemic are legally valid, thereby contributing to resolving the difficulties faced by prospective brides and grooms in gathering to conduct the marriage contract due to social restrictions. The validity of online marriage contracts represents a legal renewal that previously considered that marriage contracts must be conducted in one place.

A significant number of rural Chinese men are facing difficulties in finding a spouse and may fail to ever marry due to a relative scarcity of women in the adult population. Research has indicated that marriage squeeze is a stressful event which is harmful to men’s quality of life, and also weakens their social support networks. Using data collected in rural Chaohu city, Anhui, China, this study explores the effects of social support networks on quality of life of rural men who experience a marriage squeeze. The results indicate that the size of social contact networks is directly and positively associated with the quality of life of marriage-squeezed men, and moderate the negative effect of age on quality of life. Having no or limited instrumental support network and social contact network are double-edged swords, which have direct negative associations with the quality of life of marriage-squeezed men, and have moderate effects on the relationship between marriage squeeze and quality of life.

To identify the view of St. Ambrose, the ‘Matrimonium’ featured in the work of 'Opera omnia di Sant’Ambrogio', which is the trustworthy critical edition is used. Saint Ambrose, who is an outstanding spiritual leader and Pastor, had profound understanding and discernment. The word ‘Matrimonium’ is used 20 times in his writing of 10 volumes. Direct quotations from the Bible are 7 times. In this work, not only the literal meaning but also spiritual and mystical meanings are shown well. Above all, St. Ambrose, as a Pastor, had a deep understanding of the difficulties that arose during the Marriage and did not forget that Marriage should always be protected and respected. 1Co. 7.38, which had the most quotation shows St. Ambrose gave high value to Celibacy but did not deny the value of Marriage. Marriage is one of the many aspcects of life that enriches the Church. Also has its meaning and noble responsibility. Celibacy is an outstanding way of life, but the Life of Marriage can also lead to Virtue so each one should walk their own life is most important.

This study aims to: 1) to find out the factors that most influence young marriage in Nagari Pakan Raba'a Tengah, Koto Parik Gadang Diateh District, South Solok Regency, and 2) to find out the social impact and economic impact of young marriage in Nagari Pakan Raba'a Tengah, Koto Parik Gadang Diateh District, South Solok Regency. This type of research uses qualitative methods. As for data collection by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. The data source of this research uses primary data obtained and collected by researchers directly in the field and uses secondary data obtained from journals and related agencies. The results of this study reveal that the factors of young marriage are low education, family economy, already working, avoiding gossip slander, avoiding adultery, parental will, individual will, and getting pregnant outside of marriage in Nagari Pakan Raba'a Tengah, Koto Parik Gadang Diateh District, South Solok Regency and the social impact of young marriage in this Nagari in the form of a lack of interaction between couples who marry young and the surrounding community and the economic impact of young marriage in this Nagari in the form of difficulties in meeting the needs of life due to insufficient livelihoods.

The article focuses on Shakespeare’s play: Measure for Measure, with the aim of bringing to light the central problem of the play which is that of social reform and marriage in an early modern European society. It is a play that has been located against the background of seventeenth century society of London where it was first performed. However, it is symbolically set in the city of Vienna. Feminist and Historicist critics have been cited in the article in an interpretation of the play which requires a consideration of the role of women and their status in the playworld. The issues of private and public marriages, and the ambiguity governing the laws on marriage, form the complex problem raised in the play. It is the contention of the article that Shakespeare emphasized the need to regulate the legal system with a view to promote greater representation and voice to women who were victimized by the corrupt legal institutions, both religious and official. Thus, the article suggests that the developments in the position of women, and the questions as to whether they were married or single, were the subject of public concern and debate in sixteenth and seventeenth century Europe. Marriage was, therefore, felt to be the most crucial issue in this regard and the aim of the dramatists and literary writers was to popularize the difficulties faced by women with a view to raising the consciousness of the public.

This study aims to analyze the legality of interfaith marriage in Indonesia, including legal review, implementation management, and psychological impact on the family. The research method used is library research with a qualitative research approach. The study results show that policy recommendations must include changes to marriage laws, increasing public awareness, and education about the importance of tolerance and inclusivity in a multicultural society like Indonesia. The convoluted recording process and the inconsistency between state law and religious law are the main challenges that must be overcome. The implementation of the legality of interfaith marriage in Indonesia is still experiencing bureaucratic rigidity and a lack of coordination between related institutions. This creates administrative barriers that often prevent interfaith couples from obtaining official recognition of their marriage. Couples of different religions and their families experience significant psychological impacts, including social stigma, identity conflicts, psychological distress, and difficulties in educating children. This indicates the need for greater psychological and social support for interfaith couples
