Повний текст джерелаThis study investigates some of the aspects involved in the learning and teaching of the English language in adulthood in Italy. It aims at providing evidence of the validity of certain assumptions of andragogy and it is based on the direct observation of class work and data collection from 497 informants: 445 students of English in Italy and 22 students of English in Wales, between 18 and 65+ years of age, and 30 teachers of English, 26 working in Italy and 4 working in Wales.

English has been brought into contact with new environments and languages, and, as a result, has developed into new directions and into new varieties. In today’s China there is an astounding desire to learn English, especially among the educated and the people living in cities, and to use it as a means of communication outside the national borders. This growth in the number of people, who learn and speak English, seems to be contributing to a distinctive variety. The present research aims at contributing to this field of study by analyzing the use and occurrences of the Saxon genitive, of-constructions, and other noun modification structures within this emerging variety of English and the framework of its sociolinguistic features.

Although intermediality is not ascribable to a series of convential practices, depending each of them on the narrative context, however it detains an organicity that guarantees the possibility to align it functionally to the processes and studies on the representability of trauma. Morever, because of the versatility of its poliedric nature, the narrative use of intermedial photographies (in their different declensions) retains an epistemological and methodological value for the studies on the externalization and processing of trauma. The aim of this study is to confront theoretical and narrative texts to analyze how they influence each other.
