With the development of tourism, people's demand and concern for tourist transportation are increasing. Integrating expressway resources into the tourism transportation network is the current trend and direction of expressway network planning. With the rapid development of the Internet, people can easily get the information resources they want, but at the same time, the problem of information overload also arises. The depth of highway access is insufficient, there is a lack of systematic consideration of tourist resources in the area, a systematic tourism network has not been developed, and tourism resources are inaccessible. These issues have stifled regional tourism's fast growth, necessitating research into the convergence of tourist resource development and highway network optimization. The building of highway layouts and the growth of the tourist sector have reached a point where they interact and impact one another, and the degree of this contact has progressively risen. However, there is still a significant disparity in the degree of cooperation across areas. This paper considers the collaborative optimization of tourism resource development and highway network optimization, analyzes its impact on traffic volume distribution, introduces the two-level programming model of collaborative optimization, and determines that the goal of the upper model is to maximize social net income. It also considers the collaborative optimization of tourism resource development and highway network optimization on the basis of clarifying the game relationship between planning decision-makers and traffic travel and considers the collaborative optimization of tourism resource development and highway network optimization on the basis of in-depth learning. For the total investment of tourism construction projects, the time cost saved by highway network optimization, and the total tourism revenue, the lower-level model aims to minimize the travel time of a single user. This paper shows that the layout planning of the regional tourism highway network from the perspective of tourism resources can improve the accessibility of regional high-quality tourism resources and meet the requirements of the coordinated development of highway tourism and resources.

The perspective of mobile learning research has transitioned from using mobile technology for education to learning as a human and non-human practice surrounding mobility. This study exemplifies tourism in an increasingly mobile society as a mobile learning practice. Specifically, the learning of children during family travels and the mutual organization of human and non-human interactions are emphasized. Interviews with twelve Japanese parents revealed that children’s touristic learning encompassed the translation of various actors in tourist destinations and the spatiotemporal creation of a knowledge network different than that of settled areas and textbooks. Family tourism suspended cultural norms by moving children to boundaries, enabling them to learn beyond the usual constraints. Moreover, this article contends that children’s learning through tourism comprised negotiations with parents before tourism, accidental learning along the way, and reconfiguration of life afterward.

Tourism is the phenomenon of great social and economic importance. It is the biggest and the fastest growing industry which is developing 1.5 faster than the other industries. Additionally, tourism represents a mass movement of people which makes strong impact on many destinations, traditional or emerging ones. This have both economic and social influence on developing destinations, creating employment opportunities and economic benefits for those involved in tourism activities. Tourism development has positive influence on infrastructure development, as well as on the service industry (especially SMEs related to tourism). International economic impacts of tourism are numerous. Countries are attracting tourists and tour operators to use services, which consequently contribute to its balance payment. Services, beside tourist attractions, natural and cultural diversity, create visitors’ opinion about destination. Changing nature of tourism (moving from mass tourism to niche tourism and new experiences) has a strong influence on educational process and skills which service providers in tourism have to attain. The intention of this paper is to put a light on the connection between the fast-changing tourism trends and educational processes which are crucial component in providing market with capable and efficient human resources. Be it tourist guide or agent, hotel manager, handicrafts provider or restaurant owner, person involved in tourism is under the pressure to cope with changes and adjust to new trends. Which strategies should companies and individuals use to gain or update their knowledge? Could life-long learning strategies support their efforts in tourism and provide answers to these questions?

Sustainable development of tourist destinations is based on the key principles of sustainable development in general taking into consideration the characteristics of tourism as an activity, in particular. In the event that a tourist destination has an island location, this becomes an additional factor imposing even more stringent requirements for sustainable development due to even greater vulnerability of isolated ecological systems. At the same time, the human factor becomes decisive, because the development of a tourist destination depends on how the providers of tourism services comply with the principles of sustainable development. The purpose of our study is to identify the willingness to follow the principles of sustainable development of a tourist destinations among entrepreneurs providing tourism services, using innovative methods of problem-solving learning. During the study, the following methods were used: bibliographic, analytical, in-depth survey method, etc. The methodology implemented for this study was qualitative survey where students reflected on their learning processes. The results show the importance of university students cooperating with actors within tourist destination on both theoretical and practical issues of sustainability to develop the destination. This cooperation enables the most important learning outcomes for both parties on sustainability. Heterogeneity of the group, and methodology of Design Thinking increases the creativity in problem solving.

The conventional tourism demand prediction models are currently facing several challenges due to the excess number of search intensity indices that are used as indicators of tourism demand. In this work, the framework for deep learning-based monthly prediction of the volumes of Macau tourist arrivals was presented. The main objective in this study is to predict the tourism growth via one of the deep learning algorithms of extracting new features. The outcome of this study showed that the performance of the adopted deep learning framework was better than that of artificial neural network and support vector regression models. Practitioners can rely on the identified relevant features from the developed framework to understand the nature of the relationships between the predictive factors of tourist demand and the actual volume of tourist arrival.

This study proposes a decomposed broad learning model to improve the forecasting accuracy for tourism arrivals on Hainan Island in China. With decomposed broad learning, we predicted monthly tourist arrivals from 12 countries to Hainan Island. We compared the actual tourist arrivals to Hainan from the US with the predicted tourist arrivals using three models (FEWT-BL: fuzzy entropy empirical wavelet transform-based broad learning; BL: broad Learning; BPNN: back propagation neural network). The results indicated that US foreigners had the most arrivals in 12 countries, and FEWT-BL had the best performance in forecasting tourism arrivals. In conclusion, we establish a unique model for accurate tourism forecasting that can facilitate decision-making in tourism management, especially at turning points in time.

Online review data attracts the attention of researchers and practitioners in various fields, but its application in tourism is still limited. The social media data can finely reflect tourist arrivals forecasting. Accurate prediction of tourist arrivals is essential for tourism decision-makers. Although current studies have exploited deep learning and internet data (especially search engine data) to anticipate tourism demand more precisely, few have examined the viability of using social media data and deep learning algorithms to predict tourism demand. This study aims to find the key topics extracted from online reviews and integrate them into the deep learning model to forecast tourism demand. We present a novel forecasting model based on TripAdvisor reviews. Latent topics and their associated keywords are captured from reviews through Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), These generated features are then employed as an additional feature into the deep learning (DL) algorithm to forecast the monthly tourist arrivals to Hong Kong from USA. We used machine learning models, artificial neural networks (ANNs), support vector regression (SVR), and random forest (RF) as benchmark models. The empirical results show that the proposed forecasting model is more accurate than other models, which rely only on historical data. Furthermore, our findings indicate that integration of the topics extracted from social media reviews can enhance the prediction.

The professionalization of tourism education through experiential learning by fieldwork should be a key aspect of sustainable tourism development strategies. Based on the previous statement, the aim of this research is to develop a tourism learning experience through an academic field trip in Copper Canyon, with the purpose of generating a practical learning situation that serves as a strategy and practice of sustainability in the syllabus of Tourism Planning at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez. An experimental methodology was implemented with students (n=26) from the advanced level of the tourism program that participated in the field trip, and mixed methods of empirical and theoretical types were applied. During the practical activity, the geospatial approach was applied to the study of the destination by interpreting the production process of the tourism space, as well as, the recognition of the tourism model, the inventory and assessment of tourist resources, and the analysis of impacts. The results allowed for comprehension and justification of the contribution of the practical learning process to the formation of tourism knowledge, by incorporating field trips to develop experiences through practical learning.

The spread of Covid-19 directly hit the tourism sector in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Changes in West Nusa Tenggara tourism conditions require the government to adopt new policy measures to deal with conditions. Local governments in NTB are trying to restore the tourism sector with a social configuration or policy environment. This study explores policy learning in tourism recovery in the West Nusa Tenggara region due to Covid-19. The method used is a literature review with a narrative review approach. The literature analyzed in this study comes entirely from journal articles discussing tourism recovery in NTB due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Policy learning at the micro-level shows that policymakers must absorb the socio-cultural values of the community as a consideration in taking steps to improve tourism. At the meso level, some tourist destinations still find it challenging to get out of the pressure of the pandemic due to limited infrastructure to the preparation of human resources in anticipating the effects of the pandemic. At the macro level, direct intervention from the Ministry of Tourism is needed in three aspects. First, build tourism supporting facilities. Second, various policies are implemented based on Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE). Third, tourism recovery involves multi-stakeholder. This study contributes to making a theoretical contribution to policy learning in restoring the tourism sector due to the pandemic. Practically, this study can be a reference for the government in restoring the conditions of various tourist destinations in NTB.

Recently, the tourism trend has been shifting towards the Tourism 2.0 paradigm due to increased travel experiences and the increase in acquiring and sharing information through the Internet. The Tourism 2.0 paradigm requires developing intelligent tourism service tools for positive effects such as time savings and marketing utilization. Existing tourism service tools recommend tourist destinations based on the relationship between tourists and tourist destinations or tourism patterns, so it is difficult to make recommendations in situations where information is insufficient or changes in real time. In this paper, we propose a real-time recommendation system for tourism (R2Tour) that responds to changing situations in real time, such as external factors and distance information, and recommends customized tourist destinations according to the type of tourist. R2Tour trains a machine learning model with situational information such as temperature and precipitation and tourist profiles such as gender and age to recommend the top five nearby tourist destinations. To verify the recommendation performance of R2Tour, six machine learning models, including K-NN and SVM, and information on tourist attractions in Jeju Island were used. As a result of the experiment, R2Tour was verified with accuracy of 77.3%, micro-F1 0.773, and macro-F1 0.415. Since R2Tour trains tourism patterns based on situational information, it is possible to recommend new tourist destinations and respond to changing situations in real time. In the future, R2Tour can be installed in vehicles to recommend nearby tourist destinations or expanded to tasks in the tourism industry, such as a smart target advertising system.

The French for Tourism (or Français du Tourisme) is a lecture available in sixth semester. The objective of the lecture is to make students able to give information on tourist sites when they become tourist guides. The preliminary research showed that students were poor in vocabulary mastery. In the learning process, the methods were quite good, but they were necessary to be optimized in order learning was interesting. In addition, the learning media was not in line with the 4.0 industrial revolution; therefore, another media model, namely, digital monopoly game, was applied in this research. The model consisted of explanation on the material in the form of text, video, and audio and there are also interactive exercises. The advantage of this media was that it could be applied in offline mode, so it was accessible all the time. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) of ADDIE model. This research tried to know the development process, the validity, the practicality, and the effectiveness of the digital monopoly game in the lecture. To measure the effectiveness of the media, the pre- and post-tests were attempted to fifteen students who studied the lecture. The result showed that the learning media has already fulfilled all aspects of validity, practicality, and effectiveness and that there was a significant increase in the students’ competence after they used such media. It can be concluded that the digital monopoly game is quite effective in the process of learning the French for Tourism. With the diversification of tourist demand for a destinations’ supply, rural tourism destinations are facing an increasingly fierce competition environment. Creating brand value and improving tourists’ willingness to revisit has become an inevitable strategic choice for rural tourism destinations. In this study, we proposed a framework of “tourism motivation-destination image-satisfaction-willingness to revisit” to investigate rural tourism. We investigated from the aspects of learning and entertainment motivation, novelty-seeking motivation, natural environment, cultural environment, social environment, infrastructure, and tourist satisfaction. To analyze data, a questionnaire survey was administered to 545 tourists using structural equation modeling (SEM) technology. The findings indicated that learning and entertainment motivation, natural environment, social environment, and tourist satisfaction had a direct and positive effect on tourists’ willingness to revisit. In addition, tourist satisfaction played an intermediary role between tourists’ tourism motivation and destination terrain image and their propensity to return. On this basis, some suggestions and illuminations are put forward to increase tourists’ willingness to revisit.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to position experience as an immersive process through the documentation of student reflections of place involving the intricacies of embodied learning and experiential mobilities. This study is framed through situational positionalities and placed movements of the tourist, the non-tourist and more specifically, students of Generation Z engaged in educational experiences. Design/methodology/approach This paper explores a student fieldtrip (on the island of Corfu, Greece) as a medium of expression for situated learning, involving a case study of tourism students learning critical tourism through sensual and haptic dimensions of reflection. The students “experienced” Corfu by participating in an international tourism conference, stayed on a yacht, went on various tours, met with tourism industry representatives and reflected their experiences in a collaborative photo story book. Findings Generation Z seemed to have the ability to discern the environment and decipher the role tourism plays. Their critical impressions of place in terms of infrastructure, sustainability, beauty, etc., force a rethink of traditional tourist typologies. It is necessary to reconsider the categorizations of tourism, challenging the need for tourism marketers to encapsulate experiences as both a single, yet multi-varied segment. What remains crucial is a deeper comprehension of this generation through their consumption patterns in relation to the various stakeholders of tourism. Originality/value This paper documents an engagement of self through experience as part of the “experience.” Hence, the transformative experiences of place reflections as opposed to linear post-trip representations of experience may be insightful for tourism practitioners dealing with a tourism of the future.

In order to provide tourists with better tourism services, a system method of personal information recommendation platform based on deep learning tourism is proposed. The system includes noise reduction autoencoder, feature extraction module, data preprocessing module, recommendation calculation module, expert evaluation module, recommendation result output module, customer feedback module, and storage module. The personal information recommendation platform system based on deep learning tourism of the present invention enables tourists to obtain tourism information conveniently and quickly through scientific information organization and presentation form and helps tourists to better arrange tourism plans and form tourism decisions. By effectively aggregating multiple neighborhoods of nodes, embedding high-order collaboration information into the node embedding vector, obtaining the potential preferences of users, solving the problems of user data sparse and cold start, and finally through experimental analysis, a research method is proposed. It is used to build the model of tourist attraction recommendation system. Experimental results show that the proposed method for cold-start user recommendation has the best performance in terms of accuracy, recall, and normalized loss cumulative gain, and it is 17.9% higher than BPR in recall rate Recall@5 and 11.8% higher in accuracy rate. It is proved that the system has a significant impact on the diversity and novelty of tourist attraction recommendation.

The global competition on the tourist market and the internationalization of the tourist industry intensify the need for language learning. Knowledge of foreign languages is the most important prerequisite of the quality service in the tourist industry. The structure of foreign guests in Croatia classified by emitting countries proves that the part of the German speaking guests in comparison with other language communities is the most prominent one, so that German is the most important foreign language for the communication in Croatian tourism. Although its learning in Croatian educational institutions compared to English has been neglected, it has been learnt by all pupils in vocational schools for hotel and tourism industry. In Croatian tourism English as the language of the global communication can not satisfy all communication needs in tourism.

With the gradual growth of economy, tourism has become a pillar industry in many countries and plays an important role in promoting national development. The individualization and diversification of tourism resources must be supported by a powerful information resource management system. However, the traditional tourism information resource management system has some problems, such as scattered sources of tourism information, low interactivity, and slow update of information resources. Tourists cannot get detailed information of scenic spots and make detailed plans for tourism which hinder the further development of the tourism industry. In order to solve these problems and promote the development of the tourism industry, this paper carried out digital management of tourism information based on machine learning and digital management of information resources of different tourist attractions and surveyed and tested the number of tourists, expenditure of scenic spots, income of scenic spots, and satisfaction of tourists. The total result showed that the digital management of tourism information resources in scenic spots can increase the passenger flow, increase the income of scenic spots, reduce the expenditure of scenic spots by 6.7%, and increase the satisfaction of tourists by 4.1%. The digital management of tourism information resources based on machine learning can optimize the tourism industry and promote its development.

The environmental effect of the meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) industry is as extensive as its economic impact. Visitors attending events use a wide range of service providers, including airline car rental firms, restaurants, hotels, theaters, and tour operators. Traditionally used tourism demand forecasting approaches rely heavily on univariate time series and multivariate regression models. Although these function-based prediction systems have demonstrated some effectiveness in forecasting tourism, they are unable to accurately capture the link between tourist demand and supply as a feed-forward neural network does (FFNN). Research has shown that an FFNN can outperform regression and time-series algorithms when it comes to forecasting tourism data. This research, for the first time, expands the use of neural networks in tourist demand creation by combining a hybrid FFNN and chimp optimization learning algorithm (i.e., FFNN-ChOA) into a nonlinear tourism demand dataset. In terms of predicting accuracy, FFNN-ChOA surpasses traditional backpropagation neural networks, regression models, and time-series models.

The main objective of the TravEd Research project is to develop a pedagogical model that exploits mobile technologies and electronic learning environments and that is applied especially to develop decentralised tourism education in tourist destinations with extremely mobile tourism students. Developmental work on the project will be carried out through design-based research (DBR). The approach to learning arises from the socio-cultural tradition inherent to the activities, culture, context, and environment in which the learning takes place. The focuses of attention are collaborative teaching–studying–learning (TSL) processes during which several types of applications that also enable smartphone use are utilised. This paper presents the theoretical underpinnings of the project and the first cycle of the DBR process that will be carried out during an apprenticeship period aiming to develop a pedagogical model for work-based mobile learning in tourism settings/education.

The tourism industry is undergoing accelerated changes that pose significant challenges for both destination and business managers as well as for researchers of the tourism phenomenon. Two of these challenges that are particularly relevant are the emergence of the sharing economy and its influence on the degree of overtourism perceived in the tourist destinations. This paper addresses the subject through the use of machine learning techniques. The findings show that machine learning techniques are especially well-suited tools for dealing with these kinds of tourism issues. The findings also show that for the Spanish case, tourism competitiveness is a key predictor of overtourism

A country’s economic development relies on different features such as export/import, industrial processes, and tourism. Rural tourism is a discussion-centric research field for analyzing its contribution to a country’s economic growth. This field generates voluptuous data for tourists, expenditure, location, etc. analysis; the information increases over the years and the density of visiting tourists. Therefore, this article introduces an optimized reinforcement data analysis approach (ORDAA) for generating precise guidance information. This information is two-faced, namely, summarized data for tourist guidance and summarized data for the country’s economic development. Data augmentation’s steep rise and downfall are analyzed using reinforcement learning, wherein decision agents are precise for a relevant summary. The relevance is identified using associated development targets over varying years. Besides, the guidance information that identifies low tourist summary or nonachievable development targets is separately identified. The identified targets are analyzed using reinforcement agents for economic growth improvements compared to the previous tourist densities. This improves the focus on rural tourism sights and economic contributions to an optimal level.

The Shinkansen is the fastest bullet train in Japan. Shinkansen greatly improve the tourism economy in some cities in Japan. Shinkansen is extremely handy for foreign visitors and reduces the cost of visiting numerous places in Japan. As is known, MRT in Jakarta is one of the collaborative projects between Japan and Indonesia. Indonesia also has a 'semi-fast' train that travels between Jakarta and Surabaya at 140-145 km/hour. Learning from the Shinkansen in Japan, the Indonesian Semi-High-Speed Train also has the potential to increase the tourism sites in Indonesia with the help of a 'push and pull strategy.' This case study used interviews and literature reviews for data collection. In this study, after data was collected, it was used to analyse the mode of transportation for tourism destinations and the marketing strategy that can be used for this research. The result of this study is that Indonesia can also imitate the implementation of tour packages from Japan's railway and tourism system. Shinkansen connects tourist destinations in various cities (intercity), and it is hoped that the semi-fast train built by the Indonesian government can do the same thing. Railways as tourism transport are only one thing in developing tourist destinations. The other thing is, of course, related to integrated tourism planning

The article considers the peculiarities of conducting classes in a distance format. The transition to this training format is the optimal form of effective interaction with students, which allows you to maintain the pace of mastering the program material and avoid a possible interruption of educational activities as a whole. Modern realities of the development of tourism and education in Ukraine are characterized by high requirements for future specialists in the field of service and tourism. Therefore, the problems of integration of remote forms of education into the process of training personnel in the field of tourism are the most urgent today. This article proposes a methodology for the development of distance courses: "Tourist Local History", "Basics of Marketing (in the field of tourism)" and "Organizational Behavior", which combines elements of distance and electronic (open) learning for the training of specialists in the field of tourism. The main structural elements and forms of presentation of the material are defined and characterized: online lectures and webinars, electronic lectures, test and professional-oriented online tasks, forum discussions, etc. Specific forms of work for the courses "Tourist Local History", "Fundamentals of Marketing (in the field of tourism)" and "Organizational Behavior" are video and 3D tours, which ensure clarity and efficiency of learning the material. A characteristic feature of the distance course is the possibility of turning all the materials created by the students during the study of the courses into educational tools that can be used as illustrations, reference products or sources of information. The importance of introducing forms of independent work into distance learning, as well as motivational blocks, such as "Metaphor for the course", "Interesting to know", etc., is emphasized. The experience of creating courses: "Tourist Local History", "Fundamentals of Marketing (in the field of tourism)" and "Organizational Behavior", tested during the training of students of the "Tourism" specialty, and the functions of these courses in the training of specialists in the field of tourism are determined. A pedagogical experiment involving the involvement of distance education specialists in the field of tourism in the process of training is described. It was found that the introduction of distance courses into traditional education increases the quality of knowledge of future tourism specialists, and also forms in them the skills of independent scientific work and creative initiative. Keywords: distance learning, interactivity, communicative interaction, moodle distance learning environment; electronic training course; information resources.

Pancer Door Beach is a place that is very popular with all people, from parents to children. In addition to existing tourist attractions, a large area, and several places to exercise, as well as a very busy buying and selling the place and a place for learning for students to be part of the concepts in learning. The advantage of the Pancer Door beach tourism object is its large waves. For visitors who want to enjoy culinary tourism in the Pancer Door beach area, they also provide stalls around the beach area and many other supporting facilities. Tourist objects can be used for students to learn in open spaces. Like fishers looking for fish, students can immediately see how the fishers catch fish and what types of marine life are caught—then planting mangrove plants around the coast, which can prevent beach abrasion. The application of learning using the Pancer Door beach tourism object as one of the learning aids that can improve student learning outcomes in science learning, teachers must take advantage of the environment to improve student learning outcomes. The proximity of students to learning resources that come from the environment to culture is interesting.

With the massive growth of the Internet, text data has become one of the main formats of tourism big data. As an effective expression means of tourists’ opinions, text mining of such data has big potential to inspire innovations for tourism practitioners. In the past decade, a variety of text mining techniques have been proposed and applied to tourism analysis to develop tourism value analysis models, build tourism recommendation systems, create tourist profiles, and make policies for supervising tourism markets. The successes of these techniques have been further boosted by the progress of natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and deep learning. With the understanding of the complexity due to this diverse set of techniques and tourism text data sources, this work attempts to provide a detailed and up-to-date review of text mining techniques that have been, or have the potential to be, applied to modern tourism big data analysis. We summarize and discuss different text representation strategies, text-based NLP techniques for topic extraction, text classification, sentiment analysis, and text clustering in the context of tourism text mining, and their applications in tourist profiling, destination image analysis, market demand, etc. Our work also provides guidelines for constructing new tourism big data applications and outlines promising research areas in this field for incoming years.

Tourism forecasting is a significant tool/attribute in tourist industry in order to provide for careful planning and management of tourism resources. Although accurate tourist volume prediction is a very challenging task, reliable and precise predictions offer the opportunity of gaining major profits. Thus, the development and implementation of more sophisticated and advanced machine learning algorithms can be beneficial for the tourism forecasting industry. In this work, we explore the prediction performance of Weight Constrained Neural Networks (WCNNs) for forecasting tourist arrivals in Greece. WCNNs constitute a new machine learning prediction model that is characterized by the application of box-constraints on the weights of the network. Our experimental results indicate that WCNNs outperform classical neural networks and the state-of-the-art regression models: support vector regression, k-nearest neighbor regression, radial basis function neural network, M5 decision tree and Gaussian processes.

“A picture is worth a thousand words”. Analysis of the visual content of tourist photos is an effective way to explore the image of tourist destinations. With the development of computer deep learning and big data mining technology, identifying the content of massive numbers of tourist photos by convolutional neural network (CNN) approaches breaks through the limitations of manual approaches of identifying photos’ visual information, e.g., small sample size, complex identification process, and results deviation. In this study, 531,629 travel photos of Jiangxi were identified as 365 scenes through deep learning technology. Through the latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) model, five major tourism topics are found and visualized by map. Then, we explored the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of different tourism scenes based on hot spot analysis technology and the seasonal evaluation index. Our research shows that the visual content mining on travel photos makes it possible to understand the tourism destination image and to reveal the temporal and spatial heterogeneity of the image, thereby providing an important reference for tourism marketing.

Tourism is generally and globally acknowledged as one of the few economic sectors that has more than significant growth prospects and is characterized as a catalyst for peace and prosperity. At the same time, this sector is known for its high turnover of staff, persistent lack of qualified personnel and rapidly changing skill needs. If Romania wants to be a competitive tourist destination, we must assure a high quality of the tourism services and the people who deliver them. The most important labour shortage in Romania’s tourism is at the management level (top and middle management) and entrepreneurs. There are several reasons for this. For a long time, Romania’s tourist industry was dominated by large public enterprises. Most often, top and middle management were not appointed and promoted according to their education and capabilities, but according to other non-professional criteria. Education at all levels, especially higher education, has not been producing a competent labour force. Management education has been especially weak, with no specialized education for management in tourism. Some available programmes were of too general and with little practical training. Although there are several institutions of higher education which provide education for tourism, all of them need to modernize their programmes with a greater emphasis on management, foreign languages, ICT, and practical training. Today, Romania started to reform education. This is a significant challenge for the entire education system, including higher education in tourism. This year a consultation process was started to identify the most important competences that should be formed or developed in a degree programme. The outcome of this consultation process will be reflected in the set of reference points – generic and subject specific competences – identified by 10 subject areas, including tourism.

In 2016, Indonesia's tourism sector contributed 4 per cent of the Indonesian Gross Domestic Product (GDP). By 2019, the Indonesian Government wants to increase the tourism contribution to 8 per cent of GDP, requiring 20 million tourist visits. Ten "New Bali" destinations have been developed by President Jokowi, including the Seribu Islands Regency. Seribu Islands, located in Jakarta Capital Region, has various potentials and problems, such as economic disparity, rising seawater levels, declining fisheries production, limited water resources, and environmental pollution. Some Neighborhood Units (Rukun Warga) in the Seribu Islands are slums, including Panggang Island. Therefore, an Integrated Kampung Improvement (Muhammad Husni Thamrin Plus Program) was proposed. This study is prepared to identify potential concepts for spatial rezoning of Panggang Island, integrating sustainable tourism and housing neighbourhood redevelopment. The research problems are how can the community create a healthier and safer home, how can the sustainable 'tourist lodge' model in Panggang Island, and what concept of spatial rezoning of Panggang Island can be proposed. To understand the integration of tourism and residential development, we conducted Case Study Research (CSR) to learn from the Maldives Islands and implemented a qualitative approach of Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis for Panggang Island. Based on the SWOT, we propose a rezoning concept for sustainable Panggang Island, integrating potential tourism zones, new fisher's housing zones, polder infrastructures, utilities, and green zones. Further, in the COVID-19 Era, an additional review on personal tourism was conducted to propose sustainable tourism activities on the Panggang Island while reducing the spread of COVID-19.

As an important carrier of cultural communication, tourism can play a positive role in promoting regional ecology and cultural heritage. Therefore, this paper takes tourist attractions in the Yellow River basin as the research object and constructs mining and comment sentiment analysis for tourism text information in the Yellow River basin that appears on social media platforms. Based on the theory of the social center network, the tourism culture network of the Yellow River basin based on tourists’ emotion analysis is constructed. In addition, based on the linear fusion algorithm of semantic orientation pointwise mutual information and word2vec, this paper constructs an emotion dictionary in the field of tourism review and proposes a set of comprehensive emotion calculation rules based on Chinese text expression structure. The experimental results of 32 scenic spots in the Yellow River basin show that the proposed algorithm can achieve better sentiment classification of tourism texts, broaden the scope of application of the domain sentiment dictionary construction method, and improve efficiency.

The development of the Covid-19 pandemic has temporarily halted the tourism service business in Surakarta, leading to the emergence of policies regarding tourist attractions and objects. The research was conducted in the Baluwarti Tourism Village, which offers health tour packages to help tourists maintain their mental and physical health during the pandemic. As a result, tourism service businesses are developing alternative tourism options such as wellness or health tourism that can combine tourism and health. Data was collected through library or library research methods and analyzed by selecting, processing, and grouping the data to make it more concise. The findings revealed that the most popular tourist objects and attractions in Surakarta were artificial and cultural attractions, with the majority of them being artificial museums. The study also found several rare tourist attractions such as the "Walking Tour Royal Wellness Tourism" tour package, Javanese Cooking Class, Dance/Gamelan Learning, Constructing Janur, Using Javanese Language, and Making Traditional Herbs/Helpers. This alternative tourism is expected to contribute to the development of tourism in Surakarta, allowing tourists to stay longer in the city with additional tour packages.

This paper proposes a new hybrid deep learning framework that combines search query data, autoencoders (AE) and stacked long-short term memory (staked LSTM) to enhance the accuracy of tourism demand prediction. We use data from Google Trends as an additional variable with the monthly tourist arrivals to Marrakech, Morocco. The AE is applied as a feature extraction procedure to dimension reduction, to extract valuable information and to mine the nonlinear information incorporated in data. The extracted features are fed into stacked LSTM to predict tourist arrivals. Experiments carried out to analyze performance in forecast results of proposed method compared to individual models, and different principal component analysis (PCA) based and AE based hybrid models. The experimental results show that the proposed framework outperforms other models.
