The mining of cube gradients is an extension of traditional association rules mining in data cube and has broad applications. In this paper, we consider the problem of mining constrained cube gradients for partially materialized data cubes. Its purpose is to extract interesting gradient-probe cell pairs from partially materialized cubes while adding or deleting cells. Instead of directly searching the new data cubes from scratch, an incremental mining algorithm IncA is presented, which sufficiently uses the mined cube gradients from old data cubes. In our algorithms, the condensed cube structure is used to reduce the sizes of materialized cubes. Moreover, some efficient methods are presented in IncA to optimize the comparison process of cell pairs. The performance studies show the incremental mining algorithm IncA is more efficient and scalable than the directed mining algorithm DA with different constraints and sizes of materialized data cubes.

This paper investigates the construction method of pandiagonal magic cube. First, we define a pandiagonal Latin cube. According to this definition, the cube can be constructed by simple methods. After designing a set of orthogonal pandiagonal Latin cubes, the corresponding order pandiagonal magic cube can be constructed. In addition, we give the algebraic conditions of the universal diagonal Latin cube orthogonality and the strict theoretical proof. Based on the proposed method, it can be shown that at least 6(n!)3 pandiagonal magic cubes of order n is formed through a pandiagonal Latin cube. Moreover, our method is easy to implement by computer program.

In the paper, the author analyzes and compares cube examples in Wittgenstein’s works, especially the cube from TLP (TLP 1974 5.5432) and the cube from PPF (ex PI II) (PPF 2009 116). There is no direct evidence that the PPF–cube is a reaction to the “grave mistake” of the TLP–cube. Also, there is no evidence that the TLP–cube is a representation of the Necker’s cube (1832), although it resembles the Jastrow’s cube (1900). These are negative results. Both cubes present important ideas of TLP and PPF (PI). Also, Wittgenstein writes that he “purposely chose” the example of the cube in PI and PPF, perhaps to show one of the “grave mistakes” of the TLP–cube. By analysis of the Necker’s cube and comparison of drawings and accompanied text of the TLP–cube and the PPF–cube the author tries to explicate some possible implicit pictorial aspects of Wittgenstein’s thought and of the general nature philosophical thinking as pictorial.

We present a new interconnection topology called the Padovan cube. Despite their asymmetric and relatively sparse interconnections, the Padovan cubes are shown to possess attractive recurrent structures. Since they can be embedded in a subgraph of the Boolean cube and can have a Fibonacci cube as a subgraph, and since they are also a supergraph of other structures, it is possible that the Padovan cubes can be useful in fault-tolerant computing. For a graph with n vertices, we characterize the Padovan cubes. We also include the number of edges, decompositions, and embeddings, as well as the diameter of the Padovan cubes.

The hypercube is one of the best models for the network topology of a distributed system. Recently, Padovan cubes and Lucas–Padovan cubes have been introduced as new interconnection topologies. Despite their asymmetric and relatively sparse interconnections, the Padovan and Lucas–Padovan cubes are shown to possess attractive recurrent structures. In this paper, we determine the cube polynomial of Padovan cubes and Lucas–Padovan cubes, as well as the generating functions for the sequences of these cubes. Several explicit formulas for the coefficients of these polynomials are obtained, in particular, they can be expressed with convolved Padovan numbers and Lucas–Padovan numbers. In particular, the coefficients of the cube polynomials represent the number of hypercubes, a symmetry inherent in Padovan and Lucas–Padovan cubes. Therefore, cube polynomials are very important for characterizing these cubes.

In the Big Data warehouse context, a column-oriented NoSQL database system is considered as the storage model which is highly adapted to data warehouses and online analysis. Indeed, the use of NoSQL models allows data scalability easily and the columnar store is suitable for storing and managing massive data, especially for decisional queries. However, the column-oriented NoSQL DBMS do not offer online analysis operators (OLAP). To build OLAP cubes corresponding to the analysis contexts, the most common way is to integrate other software such as HIVE or Kylin which has a CUBE operator to build data cubes. By using that, the cube is built according to the row-oriented approach and does not allow to fully obtain the benefits of a column-oriented approach. In this article, the focus is to define a cube operator called MC-CUBE (MapReduce Columnar CUBE), which allows building columnar NoSQL cubes according to the columnar approach by taking into account the non-relational and distributed aspects when data warehouses are stored.

In this article we present the solution of the magic cube of fourth order made up of natural numbers using the general algorithm introduced by us, and the properties of this cube were analyzed. We noticed that the properties of magic cubes are valid for any nurnbers (rational, irrational, ete). These properties of the magic cube that made up rnagic square slices have shown that there is a strong relationship among the numbers that were assigned to the squares in the cube. Because of this relationship in magic cubes and magic squares the rnass and the geometrical centers are overlaps each other. These are the important findings of the general algorithm that we found.

High-frequency disturbance forest ecosystems undergo complex and frequent changes at various spatiotemporal scales owing to natural and anthropogenic factors. Effectively capturing the characteristics of these spatiotemporal changes from satellite image time series is a powerful and practical means for determining their causes and predicting their trends. Herein, we combined the spatiotemporal cube and vegetation indices to develop the improved spatiotemporal cube (IST-cube) model. We used this to acquire the spatiotemporal dynamics of forest ecosystems from 1987 to 2020 in the study area and then classified it into four spatiotemporal scales. The results showed that the cube-core only exists in the increasing IST-cubes, which are distributed in residential areas and forests. The length of the IST-cube implies the duration of triggers. Human activities result in long-term small-scope IST-cubes, and the impact in the vicinity of residential areas is increasing while there is no change within. Meteorological disasters cause short-term, large scope, and irregular impacts. Land use type change causes short-term small scope IST-cubes and a regular impact. Overall, we report the robustness and strength of the IST-cube model in capturing spatiotemporal changes in forest ecosystems, providing a novel method to examine complex changes in forest ecosystems via remote sensing.

3D finite element modeling of thermal emulator cube and its composition consisting of composite stack of multi-layer chip are developed. Thermal analysis of the Multi-Chip Module consisting of 16 alternate layers Si processor and heat sink layers with Si spacers and AlN ceramic cap is undertaken. The various alternatives for design of the emulator cubes such as thermal cube floating in free-space, thermal cube-on-substrate, thermal cube-on-flex cable with a continuous joint of solder and thermal cube embedded in rectangular Si-spacer are investigated for their heat extraction capability. Thermal modeling of a composite structural unit stack of chip offers first hand information as to the operating performance of the entire thermal emulator cube to be used in the construction of buffer cube. The scientific understanding of the mode of heat transfer of the emulator cube, heat extraction of the various heat sink materials, ceramic and the metallic substrates are investigated. A thin sheet of ceramic (AlN) substrate is at least three times more effective in extraction of heat than thick block of steel under similar conditions. The homogeneous and heterogeneous nature of the composite structure of thermal emulator in heat transfer is analyzed. The primary and secondary hotspots in thermal cubes with AlN heat sink are found in thermal simulations. The mode of heat transfer advances normal to lateral and transverse directions of stacking from the central core of the cube towards the outward face. The sharp corners of the cube typically exhibit edge convection due to chilling effect. Buffer-on-flex cable is modeled with a continuous solder joint and its further improvement with alternate hinges of solder joints and micro-channels is proposed for enhanced heat transfer analysis. The embedded emulator cubes are developed for thermal analysis of the optical layers on top of buffer. The optical layers with an interconnection of solder joints on top of the embedded emulator cubes coupled with micro-channels and hinged solder joints will be used for further enhanced heat transfer and higher dissipation of heat 1∼3W/layer resulting in efficient and cost effective thermal management technique.

AbstractIn this study we undertook various calculations of the turbulent flow around a building in close proximity to neighbouring obstacles, with the aim of gaining an understanding of the velocity and the surface-pressure variations with respect to the azimuth angle of wind direction and the gap distance between the obstacles. This paper presents the effects of flow interference among consecutive cubes for azimuth angles of $\def \xmlpi #1{}\def \mathsfbi #1{\boldsymbol {\mathsf {#1}}}\let \le =\leqslant \let \leq =\leqslant \let \ge =\geqslant \let \geq =\geqslant \def \Pr {\mathit {Pr}}\def \Fr {\mathit {Fr}}\def \Rey {\mathit {Re}}\theta = 0$, 15, 30, and $45^{\circ }$ and gap distances of $G = 0.5{h}, 1.0{h}, 1.5{h}$, and $\infty $ (i.e. a single cube), where $h$ is the cube height, placed in a turbulent boundary layer. A transient detached eddy simulation (DES) was carried out to calculate the highly complicated flow domain around the three wall-mounted cubes to observe the fluctuating pressure, which substantially contributes to the suction pressure when there is separation and reattachment around the leading and trailing edges of the cubes. In addition, the results indicate that an increasing azimuth angle increases the pressure variation on the centre cube of the three parallel-aligned cubes. The mean pressure variation can even change from negative to positive on the side face. Owing to interference effects, the mean pressure coefficient of the centre cube of the three parallel-aligned cubes was generally lower than the coefficient of the single cube and tended to increase depending on the gap distance. Furthermore, when the three consecutive cubes are in a tandem arrangement, the gap distance has little influence on the first cube but results in significant interference effects on the second and third cubes.

The potential benefits of mineral or monensin delivery through forage cubes vs. free-choice were investigated in Simmental × Charolais pregnant cows and their calves. Thirty-six mid-gestation cows (615 ± 21 kg) placed in 18 pens were initially depleted of liver Cu reserves by feeding a TMR containing 100 mg Mo kg-1 DM and 4 g S kg-1 DM for 42 d, allowed to stabilize on a low Mo, Cu and S diet for 42 d and were then used in a mineral uptake study. Experimental diets containing chopped grass-hay were fed ad libitum with one of the following three alfalfa-barley grain cubes at 2 kg head-1 d-1: (1) no addition of mineral and ionophore (Free Choice); (2) addition of mineral and no ionophore (+M Cube); and (3) addition of mineral and ionophore in the form of monensin (+M+I Cube). Mineral intake and mineral status (through liver biopsy and blood sampling) were monitored over a 16-wk feeding period, which included the first 6 wk post-calving. Dry matter intake by Free Choice cows prior to calving was higher than that by +M Cube and +M+I Cube fed cows (P < 0.05). Pre- and post-calving mineral intake (g pen-1 d -1) by Free Choice cows was 31.6% higher than +M Cube and +M+I Cube fed cows (P < 0.01). The coefficient of variation for day-to-day and pen-to-pen variation for cows consuming free choice mineral was 81 and 36%, respectively. There was no variation in supplemental mineral intake for +M Cube and +M+I Cube fed cows due to complete consumption of all forage cubes offered. Dietary treatment did not influence mean serum Cu and Zn concentration or plasma ceruloplasmin oxidase (Cp) activity of cows (P > 0.05). However, liver Cu concentration (mg kg-1) of +M+I Cube fed cows tended to be higher than for the other treatment groups (P = 0.06). Calf ADG at 6 wk of age was not affected by dietary treatment of dams (P > 0.05). Copper and Zn status of calves at 6 wk of age was not different among dam dietary treatments. However, plasma Cp activity declined more rapidly in +M+I Cube calves compared with +M Cube calves (P < 0.05), which may be attributed to the presence of monensin in the +M+I Cube diet of late gestation cows. Fortified cubes may be used as an effective means of eliminating the variability in mineral intake associated with free choice consumption with no detrimental effect on mineral status of cows and their suckling calves. An OLAP cube is a method of storing data in a multidimensional form, generally for reporting purposes. The purpose of an OLAP cube is to store data in such a way that an end user can slice and dice through the data and the storage structure itself (multidimensional) while allowing for very fast access to the data. Cubes are characterized by dimensions and measures. Dimensions refer to how the data is organized and are usually made up of character fields which tell us about the data. Measures, on the other hand, are those elements in the data which quantify something (a number) and can usually be additive . The business intelligence industry uses the word "cube" because it best describes the resulting data. The query language used to interact and perform tasks with OLAP cubes is multidimensional expressions (MDX).In this paper an attempt is made to give the overview, importance and build considerations of Olap cubes. Also querying of OLAP cube with MDX is discussed.

The sculpture Synergism, by William Severson and Saunders Schultz, is a stainless-steel structure exhibited in St. Louis (see photographs 1, 2, and 3). It is a series of three nested cubes in which the corresponding faces are parallel. The outer cube is punctured by three overlapping square-based prisms. The vertices of the square base of each prism are located at midpoints of the edges of the outer cube. A second cube attaches within the remaining structure and is similarly punctured, and a third cube attaches within the second and is punctured in the same manner. The outer cube measures approximately 4 meters on each edge. For the purposes of the following problems, we will use 4 m as the edge of the cube.

Abstract: This research aims to describe the spatial ability of grade VIII students SMP Kristen GPID Palu in Solving Flat Geometry Problems in Flat-Side Space Based on High. The type of this research is a case study research with a qualitative approach. The subject that use in this research are the students who have high mathematical abilities (ST). The research subjects were given geometry tests to construct a flat side space problem I and then interviewed. To test the credibility of the data, time triangulation was carried out by giving geometry tests to construct the flat side space of problem II and conducting interviews. Based on the results of the analysis it was found that in spatial perception ability, ST were able to determine unit cubes located in the horizontal position and vertical position in the cube stack after being manipulated. Besides that for mental rotation ability, ST is able to rotate the position of the cube and imagine the rotation of the cube correctly. ST determines the change of the cube after being rotated 900 counterclockwise by imagining rotating the cube right to the left. As well as in spatial visualization ability, ST is able to determine the change of cubes into different forms and recognize changes in position of the elements of the cube. ST is able to determine the location of the triangle, circle, and quadrilateral image in the cube network that shows the inside of the cube after being rotated twice.

Rubble mound breakwaters maintenance is critical to the protection of beaches and ports. LiDAR systems provide accurate point clouds from the emerged part of the structure that can be modelled to make it more useful and easy to handle. This work introduces a methodology for the automatic modelling of breakwaters with armour units of cube shape. The algorithm is divided in three main steps: normal vector computation, plane segmentation, and cube reconstruction. Plane segmentation uses the normal orientation of the points and the edge length of the cube. Cube reconstruction uses the intersection of three perpendicular planes and the edge length. Three point clouds cropped from the main point cloud of the structure are used for the tests. The number of cubes detected is around 56 % for two of the point clouds and 32 % for the third one over the total physical cubes. Accuracy assessment is done by comparison with manually drawn cubes calculating the differences between the vertexes. It ranges between 6.4 cm and 15 cm. Computing time ranges between 578.5 s and 8018.2 s. The computing time increases with the number of cubes and the requirements of collision detection.

Clathrin triskelions form polyhedral cages with hexagonal and pentagonal faces when dialyzed against suitable assembly buffers. However, when the buffer is made 12% saturated in ammonium sulfate and the dialysis is performed at 4 degrees C, clathrin polymerizes into cubes. The cube is constructed from eight triskelions with one at each corner. The edge length of the cube is approximately 45 nm, equivalent to the length of the leg of a triskelion. Thus, each edge of the cube is composed of two antiparallel legs overlapping over their whole length. The interactions between the legs in the cube are a subset of those postulated to occur in cages. Indeed, the cube can be derived from a pentagonal dodecahedron by removing 12 of the 20 triskelions with only slight adjustment of the legs of the remaining triskelions. The cube forms regular arrays and appears to be a favorable species for crystallization of clathrin.

In this paper, we propose a bi-directional loop antenna array using magic cube origami. The proposed antenna array consists of three one-wavelength loop antenna elements with series feeding. Each loop antenna is realized on a single magic cube, and three cubes are connected in series to form the array. The three cubes can be easily folded and unfolded due to being constructed in the form of a magic cube origami. Antenna volume can be minimized for high mobility by folding the array, which radiates a bi-directional pattern with full volume when unfolded. The proposed antenna was designed at 1.39 GHz. When the single antenna is realized on the single cube, the peak gain is 4.03 dBi. The peak gain increased to 5.2 and 5.53 dBi with two and three antennas, respectively. Half-power beam width (HPBW) with three antenna elements decreased to 40° from 360° compared to the HPBW with the single antenna. The proposed antenna performance was assessed numerically and experimentally.

This study concentrates on several factors which govern the nanoscale plasticity of in situ compressed dislocation-free Ni3Al nanocubes: cube size, aspect ratio and the presence of grooves. The yield strength of dislocation-free Ni3Al nanocubes exhibits an apparent size dependence. The size dependence is strong when cubes are smaller than 300 nm. Compared with the strength of bulk Ni3Al single crystals, the strength of nanocubes is two orders of magnitude higher, which clearly demonstrates that there is a size effect. Nanocube plasticity strongly depends on the alignment and the shape of the cubes. Deformed aligned nanocubes either display only a few localized deformation events (slip lines) or were homogenously compressed into flats due to multiple slip dislocation-mediated plasticity. For an aligned cube, crack initiation at the intersection of a slip line with a groove in the cube surface was observed. In case of a double cube, crack initiation occurs at surface irregularities, while subsequent crack propagation occurs along one or more slip planes.

In this work, nickel sulfide (NiS) submicron cubes, synthesized by an easy hydrothermal method, were investigated as an efficient electrocatalytic material of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), to our knowledge, for the first time. Part of the NiS submicron cubes were grown together in a hydrothermal procedure and formed the connected submicron cube cluster. The NiS submicron cubes (with a diameter of 300–800 nm) showed excellent electrocatalytic activity and presented superior photovoltaic performance when it was used as an electrocatalytic material for the counter electrode (CE) of DSSCs. The CE composed of the NiS submicron cubes could achieve a photovoltaic efficiency of 6.4%, showing their superior performance compared with the typical Pt electrode (which with the corresponding conversion efficiency was 5.3% at the same condition). The low-cost NiS submicron cube electrode could be a competitive candidate to replace the traditional Pt electrode in DSSCs. The simple composition procedure of NiS submicron cubes could enable the low-cost mass production of an efficient NiS submicron cube electrode to be easily accomplished.

The paper presents a comparison of the stability of concrete cube armour and Cubipod armour in a breakwater roundhead with slope 1:1.5, exposed to both 2-D (long-crested) and 3-D (short-crested) waves. The model tests were performed at the Hydraulics and Coastal Engineering Laboratory at Aalborg University, Denmark. The model tests showed that Cubipod armour is more stable than cube armour when exposed to longer waves (steepness approx. 0.025) and has equal stability to cubes in shorter waves. The Cubipod armour layer contained due to its high porosity approximately 6-17% less concrete than the cube armour layer. Therefore, it was concluded that per used volume of concrete the Cubipods perform better than the cubes.

Flow over aligned and staggered cube arrays is a classic model problem for rough-wall turbulent boundary layers. Earlier studies of this model problem mainly looked at rough surfaces with a moderate coverage density, i.e. $\unicode[STIX]{x1D706}_{p}>O(3\,\%)$, where $\unicode[STIX]{x1D706}_{p}$ is the surface coverage density and is defined to be the ratio between the area occupied by the roughness and the total ground area. At lower surface coverage densities, i.e. $\unicode[STIX]{x1D706}_{p}<O(3\,\%)$, it is conventionally thought that cubical roughness acts like isolated roughness elements; and that the single-cube drag coefficient, i.e. $C_{d}\equiv f/(\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C}U_{h}^{2}h^{2})$, equals $C_{R}$. Here, $f$ is the drag force on one cubical roughness element, $\unicode[STIX]{x1D70C}=\text{const.}$ is the fluid density, $h$ is the height of the cube, $U_{h}$ is the spatially and temporally averaged wind speed at the cube height, and $C_{R}$ is the drag coefficient of an isolated cube. In this work, we conduct large-eddy simulations and direct numerical simulations of flow over wall-mounted cubes with very low surface coverage densities, i.e. $0.08\,\%<\unicode[STIX]{x1D706}_{p}<4.4\,\%$. The large-eddy simulations are at nominally infinite Reynolds numbers. The results challenge the conventional thinking, and we show that, at very low surface coverage densities, the single-cube drag coefficient may increase as a function of $\unicode[STIX]{x1D706}_{p}$. Our analysis suggests that this behaviour may be attributed to secondary turbulent flows. Secondary turbulent flows are often found above spanwise-heterogeneous roughness. Although the roughness considered in this work is nominally homogeneous, the secondary flows in our simulations are very similar to those observed above spanwise-heterogeneous surface roughness. These secondary vortices redistribute the fluid momentum in the outer layer, leading to high-momentum pathways above the wall-mounted cubes and low-momentum pathways at the two sides of the wall-mounted cubes. As a result, the spatially and temporally averaged wind speed at the cube height, i.e. $U_{h}$, is an underestimate of the incoming flow to the cubes, which in turn leads to a large drag coefficient $C_{d}$.

Cubing machines in food processing have evolved over the years, which have made products like Star®, Knorr®, and Chicken® bouillon cubes become commercially available today, even in many parts of Africa. On the other hand, the fermented mesquite seed “okpeye” food condiment, traditionally produced by well-trained artisans and widely utilised in Nigeria, requires further product development in order to compete with bouillon cubes. Quality comparisons between the cubed “okpeye” condiment and commercially available bouillon cube products have not yet been reported. Therefore, cubing fabrication/costing and machine performance on African fermented “okpeye” condiment quality attributes, compared with commercial bouillon types, were done. The processing of mesquite seeds into the “okpeye” condiment resembled those of artisans. Bouillon cube products involved the Star®, Knorr®, and Chicken® types. Quality attributes involved proximate, micronutrient, phytochemical, and microbial aspects. Results showed that the throughput capacity of a cubing machine increased with an efficiency of 48 condiment cubes/min, forming properly without separation. Across all studied samples, the protein, ash, moisture, crude fat, crude fibre, and carbohydrate contents were in the range of 1.45–42.50%, 5.29–6.75%, 8.50–12.29%, 2.56–18.54%, 2.45–3.19%, and 18.16–25.56%, respectively. The protein, fat, moisture, calcium, iron, magnesium, and manganese contents of “okpeye” condiment were significantly higher (p < 0.05) than those of bouillon cubes. Fair amounts of vitamins B1, B2, B3, and E were found, with the “okpeye” condiment higher in vitamin E. Besides the flavonoids (0.12–0.18%), alkaloids (0.08–0.15%), saponins (0.19–0.55%), and tannins (0.69–0.93%) present, the microbial loads were similar (p > 0.05) across all samples. Indeed, the “okpeye” condiment can be cubed, and by quality attribute, it competes favourably, and very promising substitute to commercial bouillon cubes.

The pre-computation of data cubes is critical for improving the response time of OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) systems. To meet the need for improved performance created by growing data sizes, parallel solutions for data cube construction are becoming increasingly important. This paper presents a new parallel data cube construction scheme based on an extendible multidimensional array, which is dynamically extendible along any dimension without relocating any existing data. The authors have implemented and evaluated their parallel data cube construction methods on shared-memory multiprocessors. Given the performance limit, the methods achieve close to linear speedup with load balance. The authors’ experiments also indicate that their parallel methods can be more scalable on higher dimensional data cube construction.

Abstract A novel 3-D calorimeter, composed of about 7500 LYSO cubes, is the key and crucial detector of the High Energy cosmic-Radiation Detection (HERD) facility to be installed onboard the China Space Station. Energy deposition from cosmic ray in each LYSO cube is translated by multiple wavelength shifting (WLS) fibers for multi-range data acquisition and real-time triggering. In this study, various methods of surface finish and encapsulation of the LYSO cube were investigated to optimize the amplitude from the WLS fiber end with the aim of improving the signal-to-noise ratio of Intensified scientific CMOS (IsCMOS) collection. The LYSO cube with five rough surfaces and a specular reflector achieves the maximum amplitude at the low-range fiber end, which is increased by roughly 44% compared to the polished cube with PTFE wrapping. The non-uniformity of amplitude at different positions on the LYSO cube surface was measured by X-ray and the positional correlation factor was derived for the entire cube. A simulation based on HERD CALO was conducted, which revealed that both the LYSO cube with five rough surfaces and the cube with rough bottom face exhibit superior energy resolution for electrons compared to the other two configurations.

Ice cubes are complementary food products that are added to drinks to make them cool and refreshing and are also in great demand by the public. Therefore, the ice cube production process must also meet food safety for the sake of public health. The research design used descriptive observation, to describe or provide an overview of the hygiene and sanitation of ice cube processing, as well as the bacteriological content of ice cubes produced by households at Pasar Malam Kampung Solor by conducting the Most probable Number (MPN) Escherichia coli test. The sample used the purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using interviews and observation. The results of this study indicate that the hygiene and sanitation of ice cube processing for the home industry at Pasar Malam Kampung Solor have not met the requirements, seen from the use of raw water, the behavior of handlers, equipment, and unhygienic processing methods. The results of laboratory examinations found that 50% of the ice cube samples were negative and 50% of the ice cube samples were positive containing Escherichia coli bacteria with levels of Escherichia coli bacteria, namely 20 MPN/100 ml and 240 MPN/100 ml (not eligible) or exceeding the threshold > 0 MPN /100 ml according to Permenkes 492/Menkes/PER/IV/2010.

In this research work concrete cube has been prepared by doing partial replacement for cement using nano materials like Multi-Walled Carbon Nano Tubes (MWCNTs), titanium dioxide (TiO2), and copper oxide (CuO) at different percentages like 0.1, 0.25, and 0.5%. Basic test has been done for materials and fresh concrete, followed by compressive strength test for concrete cubes. MWCNT gives more result compare to TiO2 and CuO. Just to reduce cement usage, fly ash has been used by keeping the compressive strength and the amount of nano materials as constant up to 35% of MWCNTs, TiO2, and CuO, with fly ash replaced for cement to obtain the normal strength. Cost analysis has been done to find out the economic efficiency of nano material concrete cube due to which TiO2 with fly ash cost 14.45Rs to prepare single cube, as MWCNTs and CuO with fly ash cost 726.4 and 17.64Rs to prepare single concrete cube. Almost TiO2 cube preparation took 10% reduction for the preparation of concrete cube compare to normal concrete cube has taken 15.96Rs. So we concluded that TiO2 with fly ash nano material concrete is the economical efficient concrete compared to MWCNTs and CuO with fly ash.

In this paper, the authors present an approach to efficiently compress XML OLAP cubes. They propose a multidimensional snowflake schema of the cube as the basic physical configuration. The cube is then composed of one XML fact document and as many XML documents as the dimension hierarchy members. The basic configuration is reorganized into two ways by adding data redundancy on purpose in order to achieve a better compression ratio on the one hand and to improve query response time on the other hand. In the second configuration, all the documents of the cube are merged into one single XML document. In the third configuration, each reference between the fact and the dimensions or between the members of a dimension hierarchy is replaced by the whole XML referenced fragments. To the three physical configurations of the cube, the authors apply a new compression technique named XCC. They demonstrate the efficiency of the third configuration before and after compression and they also show the efficiency of their compression technique when applied to XML OLAP cubes.

This study investigates the quenching behavior and heat transfer characteristics of a copper cube immersed in cellulose nanofiber (CNF) solutions. The heat transfer performance of CNF solutions during boiling has been examined in several studies, but the quenching behavior of CNF solutions, which is an important heat transfer method, has not been evaluated. In this study, four copper cubes with the same dimensions and four different quenchants (deionized water and 0.01%, 0.1% and 0.5% CNF solutions) were prepared. A copper cube heated to greater than 600 °C was submerged three times in the quenchant. This was repeated with different copper cubes in each of the quenchants. The time at which the heated copper cube convectively transferred heat to the surroundings was recorded. The cooling time was shortest when the cube was immersed in a 0.5% CNF solution for the first time. The average cooling time for quenching in the 0.5% CNF solution was 30.3% shorter than that in DI water. In this study, film boiling during quenching was thoroughly observed and analyzed to explain the cause of enhancement in heat transfer efficiency.

The lack of use of instructional media on the volume material for building cubic spaces in mathematics learning for grade 5 elementary schools. This study aimed to improve students' learning motivation on the volume material of cubes through learning media cubes beranak in mathematics learning in grade 5 elementary school. This research procedure used the ADDIE model development design consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The increasing of students learning motivation before and after using childbirth cube media based on questionnaire. The results of this study showed that the level of validity of this media based on the evaluation of material experts 81,6% with very valid validity criteria, 72,5% media experts with valid validity criteria, 89,3% expert learning implementation plan with very valid validity criteria, Expert Student Worksheet 91,6% with validity criteria very valid. Student responses to child cube media obtained an average value of 81,1% with a very good assessment category, the teacher's response to child cube media obtained a value of 100% with a very good assessment category. Based on the data on student learning motivation before using the media cubes, the average child was 53,61 with the enough category increased to 81,04 with the very high category after using the child cube media

In the picture-surface illusion, 2D features on the picture?s surface are seen biased towards their 3D referent e.g. an angle of 200 depicting a 900 corner of a cube is seen as 300. We tested linear and parallel perspective drawings of cubes with cube drawings subtending 50 to 500. The picture-surface illusion occurs for both parallel and linear perspective drawings, at about equal strength. We argue that the 3D information at work may be the aspect ratio of a quadrilateral depicting the tilt of the cube?s top face.

The most common geometric interpretation of the Yang–Baxter equation is by braids, knots and relevant Reidemeister moves. So far, cubes were used for connections with the third Reidemeister move only. We will show that there are higher-dimensional cube complexes solving the [Formula: see text]-state Yang–Baxter equation for arbitrarily large [Formula: see text]. More precisely, we introduce explicit constructions of cube complexes covered by products of [Formula: see text] trees and show that these cube complexes lead to new solutions of the Yang–Baxter equations.

Do individuals learn more effectively when given progressive or variable problem-solving experience, relative to consistent problem-solving experience? We investigated this question using a Rubik’s Cube paradigm. Participants were randomly assigned to a progression-order condition, where they practiced solving three progressively more difficult Rubik’s Cubes (i.e., 2 × 2 × 2 to 3 × 3 × 3 to 4 × 4 × 4), a variable-order condition, where they practiced solving three Rubik’s Cubes of varying difficulty (e.g., 3 × 3 × 3 to 2 × 2 × 2 to 4 × 4 × 4), or a consistent-order condition, where they consistently practiced on three 5 × 5 × 5 Rubik’s Cubes. All the participants then attempted a 5 × 5 × 5 Rubik’s Cube test. We tested whether variable training is as effective as progressive training for near transfer of spatial skills and whether progressive training is superior to consistent training. We found no significant differences in performance across conditions. Participants’ fluid reasoning predicted 5 × 5 × 5 Rubik’s Cube test performance regardless of training condition.

The cotriple homology of crossed 2-cubes of Lie algebras is constructed and investigated. Namely, we calculate the cotriple homology of an inclusion crossed 2-cube of Lie algebras in terms of the bi-relative Chevalley–Eilenberg homologies. We also define in a natural way the Chevalley–Eilenberg homology of crossed 2-cubes of Lie algebras and study the relationship between cotriple and Chevalley–Eilenberg homologies for any crossed 2-cube of Lie algebras. We show that low-dimensional cyclic homologies of associative algebras are calculated in terms of the cotriple homology of crossed 2-cubes of Lie algebras.

The potential to perform spatiotemporal analysis of the Earth's surface, fostered by a large amount of Earth Observation (EO) open data provided by space agencies, brings new perspectives to create innovative applications. Nevertheless, these big datasets pose some challenges regarding storage and analytical processing capabilities. The organization of these datasets as multidimensional data cubes represents the state-of-the-art in analysis-ready data regarding information extraction. EO data cubes can be defined as a set of time-series images associated with spatially aligned pixels along the temporal dimension. Some key technologies have been developed to take advantage of the data cube power. The Open Data Cube (ODC) framework and the Brazil Data Cube (BDC) platform provide capabilities to access and analyze EO data cubes. This paper introduces two new tools to facilitate the creation of land use and land over (LULC) maps using EO data cubes and Machine Learning techniques, and both built on top of ODC and BDC technologies. The first tool is a module that extends the ODC framework capabilities to lower the barriers to use Machine Learning (ML) algorithms with EO data. The second tool relies on integrating the R package named Satellite Image Time Series (sits) with ODC to enable the use of the data managed by the framework. Finally, water mask classification and LULC mapping applications are presented to demonstrate the processing capabilities of the tools.

Students’ spatial skills in solving problems related to the arrangement of cubes were relatively low. This research was conducted to describe students' spatial skills regarding cube arrangement through problem-based clinical interviews. The design of this study was descriptive exploratory using one class of students as the research sample. Student tests were used to see students' initial abilities regarding cube arrangements. While problem-based clinical interviews were used to dig deeper into spatial skills and student problem solving regarding cube arrangements. The data obtained was processed using descriptive statistics such as average, cumulative frequency and percent score. Furthermore, the data was analyzed and interpreted using qualitative data analysis techniques to explain the phenomena that occur in the field. The results of the study show that the students' spatial skills regarding the cube were still relatively low; students' spatial skills were not in accordance with the concepts related to solving the problem of unit cube arrangements; students' spatial skills did not show skills related to solving problems in unit cube arrangements; to transform students' skills into spatial skills related to the problem of cube arrangement it is necessary to re-emphasize spatial skills which include spatial visual, spatial perception, spatial relations, and spatial orientation.Keywords: Spatial Ability, Problem Based Clinical Interview

In order to solve the problem that how to improve the efficiency of query and calculation in massive data, a method of building quotient cubes in Hadoop plateform which combined the advantage of the quotient cube and MapReduce model is proposed in this paper. At first, all cubes will be established and their aggregate value will be calculated in the Mapping stage. All the key/value pair formed in Mapping stage will be passed to Reducing stage. Equivalence partitioning will be carried out In this stage, and the minimum aggregation cube of each equivalence partitioning will be the key with its aggregate value. According to the minimum aggregation cubes, we can get the quotient cubes. In order to improve the speed of parallel computing and reduce network traffic, equivalence class division will be executed locally after the Map stage, it is named as combiner stage. In this paper, MapReduce model is used to improve the efficiency of building quotient cube because of its ability of parallel computing in a large amount of data. In addition, the experiment proved that, under certain circumstances, increasing the number of Mapper/Reducer task can reduce the building time effectively, and improve the construction efficiency.

Several isometrically embeddable and non-embeddable infinite series where f is of arbitrary length are given. Some structural properties of generalized Lucas cubes are also presented.

The class of k-ary n-cubes represents the most commonly used interconnection topology for parallel and distributed computing systems. In this paper, we consider the faulty k-ary n-cube with even k ≥ 4 and n ≥ 2 such that each vertex of the k-ary n-cube is incident with at least two healthy edges. Based on this requirement, we investigate the fault-tolerant capabilities of the k-ary n-cube with respect to the edge-bipancyclicity. We prove that in the k-ary n-cube Qnk, every healthy edge is contained in fault-free cycles of even lengths from 6 to |V(Qnk)|, even if the Qnk has up to 4n − 5 edge faults and our result is optimal with respect to the number of edge faults tolerated.

Visualization of disaster dispersion prediction enables decision makers and civilian to prepare disaster and to reduce the damage by showing the realistic simulation results. With advances of GIS technology and the theory of volcanic disaster prediction algorithm, the predicted disaster dispersions are displayed in spatial information. However, most of volcanic ash dispersion predictions are displayed in 2D. 2D visualization has a limitation to understand the realistic dispersion prediction since its height could be presented only by colour. Especially for volcanic ash, 3D visualization of dispersion prediction is essential since it could bring out big aircraft accident. In this paper, we deals with 3D visualization techniques of volcanic ash dispersion prediction with spatial information open platform in Korea. First, time-series volcanic ash 3D position and concentrations are calculated with WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) model and Modified Fall3D algorithm. For 3D visualization, we propose three techniques; those are 'Cube in the air', 'Cube in the cube', and 'Semi-transparent plane in the air' methods. In the 'Cube in the Air', which locates the semitransparent cubes having different color depends on its particle concentration. Big cube is not realistic when it is zoomed. Therefore, cube is divided into small cube with Octree algorithm. That is 'Cube in the Cube' algorithm. For more realistic visualization, we apply 'Semi-transparent Volcanic Ash Plane' which shows the ash as fog. The results are displayed in the 'V-world' which is a spatial information open platform implemented by Korean government. Proposed techniques were adopted in Volcanic Disaster Response System implemented by Korean Ministry of Public Safety and Security.

The study undertook various calculations of the turbulent wind flow around a body in close proximity to neighboring obstacles, with the aim of gaining an understanding of the wind velocity and the surface-pressure variations with respect to the azimuth angle of wind direction and the gap distance between the obstacles. This paper presents the effects of wind flow interference among three parallel-aligned wall-mounted cubes for azimuth angles of Φ = 0°, 15°, 30°, and 45° and gap distances of G = 0.5h, 1.0h, 1.5h, and ∞ (i.e., a single cube), where G is the gap distance and h is the cube height. A transient detached eddy simulation (DES) was carried out to calculate the highly complicated wind flow domain around the three cubes to observe the surface-pressure, velocity, vortex and spectra characteristics. The results indicate that an increasing wind azimuth angle can even change the mean surface pressure coefficient on the side face of the center cube from negative to positive value. In addition, because of the interference effects, the velocity and pressure distributions around the center cube also show a substantial change depending on the gap distance.

The lengths of lines and the sizes of angles were measured in freehand drawings of cubes produced by 190 children and 158 adults. The lengths of oblique lines depicting receding cube edges were foreshortened relative to horizontal lines showing nonreceding edges. In the drawings from children aged 9 and 10 years the obliques were foreshortened by about 40%, compared with 30% in adults' drawings. The amount of foreshortening was not correlated with the angle at which the obliques were drawn. Line lengths were also foreshortened in ‘transparent’ drawings, which are often said to show ‘what is known’ about cube structure. One explanation of the results is that line lengths are foreshortened by children and adults to create the visual impression of equal-length cube edges, even in transparent drawings. This foreshortening fits with how the receding edges of a square face of a cube project to a vantage point. Children and adults who use foreshortening are not depicting the structure of cubes by matching features such as equal-length edges with similar features in the physical lines on the page, as has been suggested in some recent approaches to drawing development.
