Повний текст джерелаThis thesis presents close readings of four poets of indigenous nations in North America—Sherwin Bitsui, Natalie Diaz, Allison Adelle Hedge Coke, and Layli Long Soldier—to address techniques of movement in poetry, which I call kinetic poetics, and which are evoked in two main ways: firstly through textual representations and secondly through their gesticulation beyond language, towards the relationship between human bodies and thenon-humans, waterways in particular. How do these kinetics effects—translingualism, iconicity, sound symbolism, lineation, punctuation, form, prosopopoeia—achieve alternative modes of approaching and receiving poetry today? How does each poet’s notion of time contribute to their kinetic representations of a linguistic and/or somatic continuum? More specifically, how do these kinetic nuances ask us to reconsider our perception of colonialextractivism and its inseparability from ecological disruption, affecting indigenous communities in particular, and the ways in which we are complicit? The linguistic questions these poets textually represent are inevitably questions about our bodies, our physical interactions with one another, and with our lands and waters. Language provides a“place of exiting”, or “a place of moving out” (Bitsui, “The Song Within”), towards somatic realities which are decentered from the self, and in relation to a polychronographic present. This somatic and translingual focus marks a distinct space in contemporary poetry, and the complexity of these effects is often overlooked, despite their contributions to contemporary literature at large

Повний текст джерелаThe present thesis is an overview of the poetry written in Russian on Israeli territory from the late 80s of the XX century. The specified period corresponds to the fourth, the last and the biggest wave of Russian emigration that became possible thanks to perestroika. Russian poetic texts in Israel reproduce all genres, prosodies and subjects of the Russian poetry in general, but their Israeli origin enriches them with new themes and new styles. So far, the significant number of Russian poetic texts that appeared during the period specified above did not receive much critical analysis or philological interpretation. Our goal is to fill this gap, giving the first panorama of the Russian poetical diaspora in Israel and highlighting its main features and achievements. This wide and varied amount of texts requires a differentiated approach. Therefore we begin this work by comparing the Russian literary diaspora in Israel with the most famous diasporas in world literature and the Russian diaspora outside Israel. After this we analyze the sociological, ideological and philosophical circumstances stimulating the Russian poetry in Israel. The principal part of the thesis contains the analysis of the texts of contemporary Russian Israeli poets. Particular attention is given to the specifically Israeli Russian poetry, that is to say, the poetic texts in Russian that could be written only in Israel

Повний текст джерелаLiterature has always been a privileged space in which society asks relevant questions about itself as a group or about individuals who belong to it. This fact is also valid for poetry, in which we inscribe our research. We will study the issue of national identity in Peruvian poetry, focusing in particular on three aspects that are essential to define a national identity: the official history, the role of the Catholic Church and the national landscape. The subject of our work basically concerns the contemporary period, but we will focus particularly on the decades between 1918 and 1980. We will try to explore how national identity is discussed in the Peruvian poetry. Do poets formulate an awareness of their nationality? Does their poetry create a model of national identity? Which aspects of this identity are poetized? What are the concepts associated with the country containing the Peruvian poetry? The selected corpus is in the middle of a conflict between a reason that relativises, make questions, complains, protests and a sense that states, widespread, offers, dreams and hopes. This conflict is central to the poems that we will analyse, it is also, somehow, a latent conflict in Peru

Повний текст джерелаHow should we study the prose poem in Arabic and what are its great innovations? How should we define it and how should we qualify its aesthetic qualities? From its inception, it has generated intellectual and cultural debate in the Arab world and attracted virulent criticism. Even today, it continues to draw hostile reactions from writers and thinkers. Some fifty years since its first appearance, there are few studies devoted to the subject. The defining characteristics first formulated by Suzanne Bernard are those which were adopted by Adonis and ‘Ansī al-Ḥāj in the Nineteen Sixties. Poets, on the other hand, chose not to subscribe to them. The prose poem in Arabic caused a schism with the traditional rules of prosody as well as the themes which have been prevalent in Arabic poetry down through the centuries. It was not before the beginning of the twentieth century with its societal changes and the arrival of foreign translations that a new poetic sensibility arose and new poetic aspirations came to the fore. These were manifest firstly in the prose poetry of Jubrān Khalīl Jubrān (1883-1936) and in the refined prose of 'Amin Rīḥānī (1876-1940). 'Urkhān Miayyasr (1914-1965) and Khayr al-Dīn al-’Asadī (1900-1971), in their turn, paved the way for the transition from poeticized prose to the prose poem. Finally, Muḥammad al-Māghūṭ (1934-2006) and ‘Ansī al-Ḥāj, by liberating at last Arabic poetry from the rules of prosody, elevated prose to the level of poetry. Hence, the prose poem has made itself the poetic form which is most apt at capturing moments in history as well as the everyday life of the modern Arab and is practically the only poetic form adopted by poets today

Повний текст джерелаThis dissertation propounds a path through xixth and xxth centuries french poetry and suggests an interpretation of the links which join the initial presence of sensation and the construction of the meaning inside the poem. The theoretical basis of this reading lie on three main poles, simultaneously called up, though their weigh remains different and their purpose separate. E. Husserl's phenomenology, and even more m. Merleau-ponty's thought, play both a major part in the method ruling this thesis : they underline the importance, within the chosen corpus, of such notions as the chiasmus between subject and object, the elaboration of referential refigurations, the decisive influence of the body or the continuous passage from the sphere of sensations to the linguistic space. With the help of poetics and psychoanalysis, this work tries to read, as precisely and synthetically as possible, first the worlds of french romantic poetry, from lamartine to hugo, then the universe of symbolism, from baudelaire to mallarme. The last part is devoted to a close reading and a systematic analysis of four poets of this century : p. Claudel, p. Valery, j. Supervielle and saint-john perse

Повний текст джерелаRelationship theories as "praxeology", "sociology of mediation", "aesthetic relationship" are nowadays compelling recognition. None of them though seems to follow the "theory of language" initiated by Saussure. My research seeks to think over the concept of relationship in and through language. The loving subject, as it appears in contemporary poetry, is my main object, but it confronts with various and even contradictory categories: "love", "poetry", "subject". On the first hand, I observe that in all fields relationship is thought of through oppositions of essentialist terms: same and other, presence and absence. Inbstead of repeating this dualism, I prefer to draw attention to the various and moving subjective relational rhythms, wich the poems invents to tell and make love in the same movement of speech: those relational systematics produce a continious loving language-body: an ever specific "relationship signifier". Then I observe the relationship-poem in each speech act, initiating an anthropology of relationship in order to rethink the links between poetics, politics an ethics, in threee inseparable domains of activity: language, society and love. The poem of language as relationship-subject is a loving force that opens unedingly new individual or social forms of subjectivation in the midst of discourse. I should say that poetics of relationship could try to give a meaning of it

Повний текст джерелаContemporary poetry is a marginal sector of the book market, and its confidentiality is commonplace. This sector of activity, being amongst the most prestigious, shows itself to be very active : the number of books published , actors or institutions, is growing. Poetry relies upon the density of the relationships between actors in order to make the works known, building a "world of art" ; a process of institutionalization supports all the actors. Identifying the conventions at work in contemporary poetry is not easy, due to the diversity of the creations recognized as poetry. This diversity drives poetry towards social forms that we could name archipelagos, as well as towards discussion and cooperation between the actors. The production as well as the distribution of works rests upon these structures. We see the emergence of a non-literary economy in poetry through the development of lectures and performances, creating a new market and an important source of income for poets, as very few make a living from their writing. The poets' trajectories, their singularity, come within the scope of the collective frame, from the discovery of poetry to its consecration. Poets have occupied the new space opened up by the Internet to distribute poetry and to create new kinds of works. The example of poetry illustrates how cultural sectors can do quite well, even if commercial success does not fit in with their cultural legitimacy

Повний текст джерелаThe purpose of this thesis is to study the relation between the poetic and social-historical process in central america. The study is organised in four parts. The first three parts are focused on three historical events and their repercution at social-political and ideological levels. These events are essential to understanding of central american poetry. The events are : the guatemalan revolution of 1944, the cuban revolution (1959) and the regional industrialisation programme of the 1960's ; finally, the sandinist revolution (nicaragua, 1979) and the salvador and guatemala's revolutionary struggles during the 1980's. Each part is divided into five chapters, they demonstrate the particularities of the relation between the history and the poetry in each of these countries (guatemala, salvador, honduras, nicaragua, costa rica). The fourth and last part is dedicated to the analysis of poetic texts of five central american poets : roberto obregon (guatemala, 1940-1970), jose roberto cea (el salvador, 1939), rigoberto paredes (honduras, 1948), gioconda belli (nicaragua, 1948) and alfonso chase (costa rica, 1945)

Повний текст джерелаNoting a marked propensity for verbal play in some contemporary poetical works, the author attempt to analyse what determines the stylistic choice of ludic poetics for some of the poets who best illustrate this tendancy: f. Ponge, j. Tardieu, g. Norge, r. Queneau and the oulipien poets. But what is meant by poetical play? this preliminary question calls for a methodological approach which will bring out the characteristics and the main effects of verbal play and show how poetically efficient it can be, as long as we go beyond the sterilizing opposition between the categories of the serious and the non serious. Setting this problematics in the light of its historical context, the author shows indeed that the disruptive effects cause by the atypical works of the second half of the 19th century (of lautreamont, rimbaud, laforgue, the "fumistes" of the end of the century, and also jarry), have created the conditions for an opening out of what can be called "le ludique" - the radically otherness of language - where the seamingly incompatible categories of the poetic and the comic interpenetrate each other in varied and subtle ways, in a writing experience centered on the distabilizing and humoristic effects of verbal play. It is therefore interesting to try and understand what is a stake in the poetical game and considered the hopes for freedom and autonomy it illustrates as the merry and iconoclastic literary occurrence it seems to be, especially since the advent of poetical modernity. In the poetical field, word play enables the emergence of a speech (une parole) which is basically marginal and subversive in so far as it accounts for the absolute freedom of the poet to create a new language capable of subverting the established codes and values (espacially where literary tradition is concerned), of expressing the arbitrariness and risks that escapes a man tied up in his social role, and of renewing with the lost enjoyment of word play

Повний текст джерелаOur research intends to find the essential points existing between contemporary poetry and mysticism. We look at mysticism, free from its religious context, as an experimental knowledge of the being, based on a direct contact and union with a non-individual consciousness. The poetry is examined as an attempt to express this experience of unity and a way to approach it or to orient the reader towards “the real. ” Choice is based upon its convergences with mystical texts not directly claiming an affiliation with tradition, affirming links to “wild mysticism” or the atheistic (even if the poets did not specifically affirm or even deny it). Established on the ground of experience, we intend to understand the poetic experience using the knowledge of mysticism, considering various concerns which contemporary poetry engages: poetic subject, lyricism, inspiration, rhythm, etc. We seek to demonstrate that mysticism can reveal unseen dimensions to a poetry and make it even more meaningfull
Caradec, Nathalie. "La notion de territoire dans la poésie bretonne de langue française contemporaine." Rennes 2, 2002. http://www.theses.fr/2002REN20068.
Повний текст джерелаContemporary Breton poetry, in the French language, gives much importance to the notion of territory, understood as meaning the geographical areas, landscapes or even certain places, all within the region of Brittany. The Breton identity is defined by several characteristics, one of which is the strong tie to the Brittany region or territory. With poets published since the Second World War, this theme is explicitly present, with the toponym precisely, or implicitly, locating the setting evoked. In our study of the notion of territory in contemporary Breton poetry, in the French language, we have chosen a thematic reading, to precisely define the different ways of evoking the region. This notion is examined in three main lines : land, water, a lost or re-found territory. Certain poets evoke the territory as linked to the land and more precisely to the forest or the Mounts of Arrée ; others emphasize the territory as linked to water in a varied spectrum of marshes, islands or rivers. Finally, the territory can be perceived within the framework

Повний текст джерелаThe only consensus around the question of contemporary women poetry is that of its diversity: the themes and forms of the poems written by women are almost as varied as the origins of the poets themselves. Diversity is also one of the aspects underlined by most of the publications on the subject of humour. The term applies to so many phenomena that it is virtually impossible to reduce it to a final definition. Yet it is precisely because humour is so difficult to define that it constitutes a particularly appropriate prism to approach contemporary women poetry. Humour is by essence “transgender”. It subverts social order as well as instances of real or symbolical power, and challenges sexual and generic identities. Unsurprisingly, women poets have seen it as a choice weapon to attack received opinions and stereotypes, especially when those aim at defining femininity. Humour should therefore be considered as a form of writing, or rather a set of forms, expressing a specific positioning and operating on the level of enunciation, reception, rhetoric and prosody. This posture, which can be interpreted as irreverence, incongruity or difference, testifies of the complex ties women have established with the poetic tradition. But to do so, women have also developed strategies which enable them to explore common knowledge and accepted truths, and thus redefine the contours of contemporary poetry

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis aims to establish as complete a view as possible of Chadian poetry in Arabic in the 20th century, including the study of previous periods since islamization and arabization of Chad. It deals with poetry in classical Arabic and it's various genres : traditional poetry. Sufi poetry and, in the recent period, poetry in free verse ; the various schools are described. The works of popular poetry composed in local colloquial Arabic are also discussed as in women poetry. The life and work of many poets of different periods and styles are studied such as Ibrahim al-Kanimi, Abdelhak Assanoussi Attargami, Ahmat Abdallah al-Tadjani, Muhammad Abdul Wahid Umar al-Fall, Ahmad Abdelrahman, Moussa "Driver", among others. The corpus of the study is based not only on published works, but also on many unpublished manuscripts, as well as on recording on tape. The development and evolution of poetry in classical Arabic language as in colloquial are systematically put into relation with major historical, political, social and cultural events of 20th century in Chad, in the continuity of the centuries-old history of the major chadians kingdoms, Kanem, Baguirmi and Wadday. In the first part an overview on Chad Arabic literature, as well as on the sources of former Arabic literature in Chad and the sources of contemporary literature in Chad is given. The second part deals with poets writing in literary Arabic and with poets of the new generation. In the third part it is dealt with local Arabic poetry (Chadian popular literature), popular poets, and women poetry. The thesis concludes with a summary of the results of the research

Повний текст джерелаThe modern caribbean aesthetics is defined as the result of a process of transculturation or creolization which conditions the expression of the search for identity. The contemporary poets adopt strategies, through the elaboration of a language (poetry) and the recovery of an identity in a literature which combines aesthetics and ideology, writing and orality. The claiming of cultural identity is carried out according to similar historical steps : independences, decolonization, revolutions, commitment, black renaissances. Those landmarks are linked to the (re-)creation of myths, created by history. From this "mythization", we have analysed the aesthetic re-elaboration of cultural caribbean features and their incorporation into the poetic world, as renovation of creative expression, poetic intention and the assertion of identity (tradition / modernity). We have selected poets whose language is representative of the caribbean, according to their role in a post-event period : nicolas guillen (cuba) for the "negrism", aime cesaire (martinique) for the "negritude" ; rene depestre (haiti), blackness, surrealism, marxism ; edouard glissant (martinique), post-"negritude", "antilleanity" ; edward kamau brathwaite (barbados), for the west indies post-independence ; nancy morejon (cuba), who took over the tradition of the "negrism", contemporary with the cuban revolution. The ideological allusions determine the poetic work, the commitment into the way (identity search) the poet chose, with the voice (language, poetics). Our choice and our comparative method have highlighted common thematic and stylistic devices, which are included in the historical and cultural context of the caribbean and latin america. In this dialogue of cultures, the opening on the caribbean is a step of the identity quest, a stylistic strategy of a liberated and united writing

Повний текст джерелаIn this thesis, we have tried to show the influence of modern French poetry on three contemporary Iranians poets: Nâder Nâderpour, Hassan Honarmandi and Mohammad Ali Eslâmai-e Nodouchane. They have studied at Sorbonne University. Since the period of Mashroutiat or constitutional monarchy the modern poets like Nimâ have written the poems in “vers libres” following the French models. The Iranians, always attached to classical forms, didn’t like this form of “vers libres”. The role of theses three poets has been to prepare the ground to make accept “le vers libre” by the Iranian readership. These poets are grouped in semi-traditional group and they use the images and the themes of the modern French poetry, they have prepared the ground so that “le vers libres” will be well accepted in Iran. They have chosen, in the most of their poems, the continual quatrains “les quatrains continus”. They have tried to use the themes and the images that come principally from the poetry of Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Verlaine, Valéry, Prévert….These poets are considered like à “bridge” by which the Iranian cross the classical poetry to arrive to modern Persian poetry. They have sometimes changed the place of the rhymes following the French models. Sometimes they have integrated the “tercets”, “quintils” and “sizains” in their poetry among their “quatrains” and this can be considered as a French influence

Повний текст джерелаSince the 1980s, contemporary British poetry has been characterized by the emergence of minority voices and a diversity of forms and practices. That expansion of the poetic map is often read through what Sean O’Brien called a deregulation, in reference to the social and political changes which have influenced British society since Thatcherism. This thesis looks at a central aspect of that phenomenon: the development of a conception of the poem as public utterance. By focusing on a range of poets representing minority backgrounds or unheard voices and working across spoken word poetry and other types of performance poetry, it demonstrates that poetic diversity is the result of a pluralization of the poem itself. Poems are transformed by other mediums and by exchanges with other art forms (popular music, cinema, painting) which in turn questions hierarchies and dominant poetic forms. Poetry off the page becomes both an aesthetic and political experiment. The poet’s public figure constructed by the poems is an elusive mask which oscillates between fiction and lyrical poetry. The poem as public utterance interrogates the relationship of the body to the text in performance, as well as the materiality of the poem on the page. In so doing, it also questions the way contemporary poetry is received and discussed. Similarly, in spite of the multiplication or atomization of the poem on several mediums, the structural relationship of this type of poetry with the presence of a community in performance creates representations of the community and collective utterance

The writers included in the analysis - alfred melon-degras, joseph polius, christian rolle, sonny rupaire, soucougnan and elie stephenson - all began publishing their works after 1967. The study attempts to identify the dominant themes of the poetry of the little-known post-negritude generation. The thesis begins with a brief outline of the social and political background to contemporary french caribbean poetry, while the main part of the study consists of a thematic analysis of the latter. In the third and final section, an attempt is made to present an overview of the major themes identified and also to indicate the various options facing these new poets as they seek to assert their individuality in a context still dominated by the influence of their illustrious predecessors

Повний текст джерелаThe "first postwar poetic generation" comprises approximately forty poets (among them, Alexandrou, Anagnostakis, Dallas, Karouzos, Katsaros, Kyrou, Livaditis, Patrikios, Sachtouris et Sinopoulos). Those poets have lived their youth and early maturity in a climate of war and of social, ideological and political upheavals, marked by the Second World War, the German Occupation, the Resistance and the Civil War, the seven-year-long dictatorship (1967-1974). The questions of death and time, of memory and duty towards the dead, of alienation and betrayal compose the thematic area of the Greek postwar poetry. The study of otherness, in the poetic period in question, concerns the following thematic fields: a) the sacrifice, or the act of "dying or living for the other", b) the "elsewhere", or the desire to get away from the reality, and c) the absolute other and the question of "self as other". Around these three principal axes, certain thematic motifs and symbolisms are developed, such as the figure of Christ and the idea of persistence; the motif of the fissure, of the subterranean refuge and the shipwreck; the motif of the double, the mirror and self-observation. In the second part of this research, the study of the thematic pair high-low and of the symbol of the bird schematizes the attitude of the poets towards the questions of the otherness posed in the first part and reveals the poetry as a value of ascension and salvation

Повний текст джерелаThis work is a monograph about the books written by the poet Patrick Wateau, born in 1959. It deals with the question of intensity. It is descriptive, considering the fact that the hermetic language of the poet is a constant opposition to critical description. A first part is mainly interested by the existantial propositions of the poet, and by the issue of subjectivity ; a tension between interrogation of the human condition and tendency to solitude is questionned. A second part deals with the poetic art of the author, showing his proximity with some modern writers (Artaud, Noël, Dupin) and with the art of the mystics as it is depicted by Michel de Certeau. A third part deals with negativity. It deals with the personal life experience of the poet, and analyzes the themes that are connected to it (illness, pain, temptation of silence, « hatred for poetry »). A fourth part studies the relationship with history (poetry is confronted to deshumanisation, to what Beckett calls « cap au pire ») and the issue of the mystic (particularly the importance that Plotin has for the poet)

Повний текст джерелаOur study aims to examine the figures of the lyric subject in the poetry of Jacques Dupin (1927- 2012), Philippe Jaccottet (1924-) and Jacques Réda (1928-), three major poet of the postwar whose poetic work contributed to the evolution of contemporary lyric poetry.Without neglecting the anterior and posterior work of these poets, our study will focus mainly on the works of the 1960s and 1970s. At that time, in fact, the lyric was taken in a critical situation without precedent because of the advent of the structuralism and the “textualism” proclaimed by the avant-garde. In response to textualism of 1960s and 1970s, Dupin, Jaccottet and Réda continue an obstinate search of lyricism. Our study doesn’t aim to develop global and universal criteria to define the universal characteristics of "lyric poetry" as a literary genre, nor to develop a philosophical reflection on the subject or the En-soi. Through the analysis of the figures of lyric subject, we will study the characteristics of each of our poets, as well as patterns of lyric poetry during the difficult period. The notion of "lyric subject" will serve as a parameter in order to clarify the singularity and the historical nature of the poems, and those of the poetic peculiar to each writer.Traditionally, lyric poetry is often associated with the emphasis or sentimentality. The poetry of Dupin, Jaccottet and Reda struggle to free themselves from the traditional lyricism based on the egocentricity. Lyric poetry is no more a genre that expresses the feelings and subjectivity of the poet. Our poets are looking for a new form of lyrical poetry, which is suitable for the times. The impersonality, we often find in their poetic, is associated with the production of a new form of subjectivity, far from the metaphysics of subjectivity. The refusal of some form of subjectivity coexists with the search for a singular word and the new figure of lyric subject

The second chapter presents Sufism in outline and in what distinguishes it as an existential approach throughout the Islamic view. These same characteristics are reflected in the third chapter through the poetic production of three of its most famous representatives namely Rabia Al-Adawiyya (d. 725), Umar Ibn Al-Fâridh (d. 1235) and Mohyî Al -Dîn Ibn Arabi (d. 1240). The analysis shows that in their respective works, they also had three different approaches to poetic creation. Rabia with her quest for purification uses it as a catharsis, Ibn Al-Fâridh, with his quest to spread his Sufi faith through his Al-Tâiyya Kubrâ (The Great Tâiyya),tries to impregnate his own Sufi liver faith, and Ibn Arabi, with his plan to refute any writing stable and rigid trough his collection of poems Turjumân Al-Achwaq (the interpreter of desires), seeks to establish an ideal "Text ".Thus we can conclude that these Sufi poets had three different approaches to poetic creation. The analysis of their respective writings demonstrates that "issuer", "receiver" and "message" are the three core interests of these three Sufi poets. In the fourth chapter of this study, three poetic works of three contemporary poets are analyzed to detect the Sufi watermarks of these poems. It is Al-Tufan Al-Aswad (The Black Flood) of Muhammad Miftâh Al-Faytûrî (1936 - ...), Al-Kibrît wa Al-Asâbi (The Match and the Fingers) of Nizar Qabbâni (1923-1998), and Qasîdat Al-Takwîn The Poem of the Genesis of Adonis (1930 - ...). Their analysis proves the influence of Sufism in the practice of the creation of Arabic poetry. The fifth chapter demonstrates this Sufi legacy in poetic theories in contemporary Arab thought and its influence in the establishment of three different poetic approaches constituting the so-called " the Purifying School," " the Impregnator School" and "the Refutation School", these theories take no account of the literary corpus described in the first chapter. Besides the translation of Claudine Chonez of "Great Tâiyya," the poems are cited in Appendix at the end of the study with a personal translation, which, although it does not claim to reflect in any way the depth and beauty of Arabic poems, she does not despair for the many suggest

Повний текст джерелаThis dissertation provides a trans-indigenous study of North America’s Dakotapi and Taiwan’s Paiwan’s ancestral oratures and contemporary literatures. The Dakotapi are a well-known People popularized by dominant societies, whereas the Paiwan are amongst the most unknown indigenous populations, and their literature remains in the margins of current scholarly studies. It will allow the creation of methods of analysis and the establishment of some form of literary dialogue between them, in order to highlight the similarities and the differences of the oral and written production considered within their own continental situation. The differentiated acculturation processes targeting the Dakotapi and the Paiwan, of the American colonial power on one hand, and on the other hand of the Japanese and Chinese colonial powers, all had a violent impact on the culture and identity of these Indigenous Peoples. However, just as the heroes and heroines from their respective oratures, the young literate indigenous adults, who graduated from American and Taiwanese governmental schools, diverted the graphic skills and the symbolic power of the colonizer to write down their own (hi)stories. This research also stresses the crucial place that Indigenous literatures occupy on the global literary scene, by means of Indigenous-centered genres and themes, and self-referential critique and theories. These are literatures of resilience that draw their references, themes, and paradigms in their own Indigenous cultures, that were reclaimed by engaging in a reconquest of their tribal identity and sovereignty

Повний текст джерелаThe objective of this research is to highlight, through the meticulous study of metaphor and translation, the universality of contemporary Arabic poetry. The study will dwell on the French translations of the poetry collections of Badr Chaker Es-Sayyâb, Abdelwahab Al Bayati, Mahmoud Darwich and Adonis, poets who remain faithful to the metaphoric heritage of traditional Arabic poetry and yet, at the same time, seek inspiration from metaphors pertaining to the western imagination as to renew the "metaphoric pond". This research will equally draw on the mechanisms through which these metaphors were translated from Arabic to French for if the Arab poet does not aim at reaching universality, his translator must ensure that the target text convey the desire for unity which animates contemporary Arabic poetry

Повний текст джерелаThis research endeavours to make up for the lack of visibility and of academic attention given to contemporary Indian poetry in France. It is a comparative study between Indian poetry in English, focusing on the works of Arun Kolatkar (1932-2004) and Keki Daruwalla (born in 1937) and Indian poetry in Hindi, focusing on the works of Gagajan Madhav Muktibodh (1917-1964) and Kedarnath Singh (born in 1934). Their works illustrate the evolution of Indian poetry from a transitive protestpoetry, to a more indirect dissidence, which keeps away from ideology and from the pressure of outside events. These four poets respond to the dislocation and the fragmentation of the Indian cultural, political and social field in the middle of the twentieth century by giving shape to a « poetics of relation », to borrow a term from Edouard Glissant, which expresses the idea that without the other there is no language for the self. They claim a hybrid heritage, that of the immediate impact of modernity, but also that of a plural and often heterodox « non-literate sub-continent ». They challenge the purity and the closure of the monolithic text, by asserting overlapping, reflexive, dialogic identities and by creating an intertextual, multilingual fabric for their poetry. These plural belongings and plural identities subvert any kind of exclusive understanding of language, of meaning, of the sacred, of the past or of identity. The emphasis is on the conversion of the act of seeing, on revealing rather than on loudly demonstrating, and this poetic conversion is fundamentally political

Повний текст джерелаModern poetry has shown considerable interest for the relationship between language and space by exploring, among others, the possibilities of the theme as well as those of visual composition. This study aims to analyse the patterns of spatial semantic relations within poems, patterns we will call textual patiality ("spatualité textuelle"). Our intent is to show the commonality between the various components (linguistic and visual) of the representations of space within a poem. Three works comprise the corpus of study : Mezza voce by Anne-Marie Albiach (1984), La trame inhabitée de la lumière by Jean Laude (1989) and Diminution d'une pièce by Gilles Cyr (1983). The study essentially consists of the presentation of textual analyses through which we hope to single out certain semantic relations that further the emergence of spatiality in poems. .

Until the second half of the 20th century, the Vietnamese history nearly did not have events which took place on the sea. The China Sea was neglected by the Vietnamese who prefered their rivers. The rough currents off Vietnam and the superstitions made the people afraid of this part of their territory. The exile on the sea in the 80's by the Vietnamese Boat-People consequently caused one of the most important literary movement of the country. Through literature, we can see this learning of living with the China Sea by the Vietnamese people, their own way to take place in the South East Asian's politic scene with their strategic position on the sea. Poets like Huy Can or Xuan Dieu have done much to make them get accustomed to the theme of the sea in poetry and novels. It is this evolution, this learning which is worth studying because the China Sea is becoming an inspiration for Vietnamese literature

Starting from the study of the short-story or cuento, a literary genre widely developed in Central America, our research seeks to identify the multiple intra and extratextual processes which allow discerning a coherent whole inside different productions from marginalized writers, a whole that could be identified as a writing of the margins. Through a regional and transnational approach, we analyse the historical marginalization of indigenous and afro-descendant populations as well a women, before gazing at the transfer of this marginalization from reality to fiction in the literary texts. Afterwards, we take an interest in the evolution of the literary representations of these marginalized groups, allowed by the (r)evolutions of the Central American societies, relying on the confrontation between a pre-corpus of short-stories that recount the representations of the alterity from the outside, and a corpus made of eight collections of short-stories by writers coming from these marginalized groups. Finally, we observe through these collections by the Panamanian Moravia Ochoa, the Afro-Costa-Rican Quince Duncan, the Guatemalan Kaqchikel Luis de Lión, the Belizean Garifuna Zoila Ellis, the Salvadoran Jacinta Escudos, the Nicaraguan Marisela Quintana, the Honduran Lety Elvir, and the Guatemalan K’iche’ Humberto Ak’abal, how this coherent whole of writings of the margins causes a destabilization of the literary canon by trembling or even inverting its hegemonic values

Повний текст джерелаIn Ecuador, « indigenous nationalities and peoples » have taken an active part in the public domain, especially for the last twenty years. The « plurinationality » claimed for a long time, was finally enshrined in the Constitution of 2008. According to official figures, Indians represent 7% of the total population. Their main organisation claims the figure of 45%. Their federations and confederations have won areas to participate more directly to the country's life. Indians have gained greater visibility and respectability but after having support of blanco-mestiza population, their actions have been incessantly discredited throughout the first decade of the XXIst century. The interest aroused by the Indians may have contributed to the publication by Abya Yala from Quito of a compilation of press articles about the Indian question, entitled KIPU. El mundo indigena en la prensa ecuatoriana. These press articles make it possible to intercept how the global society looks upon this « important ethnic minority ». We selected the period from the year 2000 to 2004. This period probably represents the second great turning point in the history of contemporary Indians movements. It's difficult to get a clear picture of cultures constantly in motion. People in Ecuador keep in mind a hazy image of « their Indians ». These reveal themselves to modern world by enrolling in a global process of « indigenization of modernity ». In Ecuador as in most countries of Latin America, the Indian claims to be more indígena than indio. He remains elusive for many and is often portrayed assimilated or disappeared. But it seems like his future history is a chronicle of a survival and vitality foretold

Повний текст джерелаThe aim of this thesis is to highlight what constitutes one of the major temptations of modern and contemporary poetry. Heiress of Mallarmé era, poetry is more than ever aware of the vacuity of words and of the inexpressible. All certainty regarding the qualifying and ownership of the world being excluded, poetry has to go throught the ordeal of annihilation to conquer a new horizon. This aesthetics of verbal privation which it seems to claim today, drives to its climax the paradox of its own existence. The art of « logos » doesn't hold this passionate covetousness of the verba ; the object of desire now stands in the silence and the typographic whites. Eugène Guillevic's, Lorand Gaspar's, Jacques Dupin's ans Claude Esteban's minimalist poems seem to dismantle before our eyes, always harrassed and tempted by the hollowing-out, by the aphasia. The contemporary poem's presence in the world, thus, comes trought this experience of furthermost bounds, this ineffable absence of the world, as if the original chant was trying to find again a new breath through the coveted silence

Повний текст джерелаThe aim of this study is to demonstrate that in our current, globalised world, the development of indigenous knowledges and writings in the second half of the twentieth century prompted the emergence of a cognitive construction that was not so much indigenous as exogenous and non-ethnocentric. A new literary approach is therefore necessary to analyse this collection of exploration narratives, previously examined by historians. The goal of this new approach is to identify a prism or paradigm which will bring these disciplines and concepts into dialogue: it is textuality which will connect all of these themes, allowing for their critical analysis. In exploration narratives, it is the point of non-subjectification and objectification of the world which ensures that the Native is constructed as an object by this textuality. Thus, carrying out a diagnosis of this distinct access to subjectification impels one to retrace the genealogy of this phenomenon in literary and artistic works, which are analysed here as “narratives,” as are the founding texts related to these colonial contacts. The knowledge over the Native constructed at this time allows us to discern the knowledges of the Native, or rather the knowledges created through the reassessment of indigeneity, which is no longer seen as inherent characteristics of the Native, but rather as a privileged location for the construction of her/his subjectivity and identity. Indigeneity, henceforth understood as a prism, re-examined through textuality, will in turn bring to light the new relationships being woven as a result of cultural movements, which are themselves redefined according to their endo- or exogeneity

Повний текст джерелаAs from the seventies women poets assert themselves with energy in the Italian literary survey. Even if their presence in the most famous anthologies is curtailed, their poetic writings are characterized by a powerful originality. The aim of this thesis is to study their poetic production inquiring into the possibility of common elements. It’s not about defining a female specificity from an essentialist point of view, the purpose is rather to interpret some textual data with reference to a well-defined historical and cultural context. The study corpus includes works of the following Italian woman poets: Amelia Rosselli (1930-1996), Alda Merini (1931), Jolanda Insana (1937), Patrizia Cavalli (1947) and Patrizia Valduga (1953). In order to respect the particularities of every writing and to avoid hasty and restrictive simplifications, a great importance has been conferred to the textual analysis and the chapters have been arranged according to a monographic approach rather than a thematic structure. The result of the research demonstrates that contemporary Italian women poets attend insistently three knotty problems: they develop a reflection about the power of poetic language, they display a tendency to structure their verse on strong oppositions without appeasing synthesis and they often resort to dramatic elements. These characteristics can be interpreted referring to the double and conflicting position of the female subject towards poetic code: this new subject needs to inscribe himself in the poetic language, but he also feels a sense of extraneousness. The tradition he loves doesn’t belong completely to him as he was left out of its elaboration

Our research indicates the fact that the contemporary Iranian poets have been attentive readers of the 19th and 20th century’s French poetry which played a crucial role in their openness to modernity. Through the study of Forough Farrokhzad’s poetry we analyze these relationships via metaphor. This figure of speech, very ancient and prevalent in Iranian poetry, defines a new presentation of the images in this precursor poet. This study about Forough also evokes the feminine poetry in Iranian literature whether in its ancient or contemporary creations

Повний текст джерелаThe imperative of the real that characterizes contemporary poetry since 1950 is at the heart of the poetic practices of Philippe Jaccottet (1925-), Philippe Clerc (1935-) and James Sacré (1939-). Tthey are in part, keeping up with the themes of the realist movement of 19th century poetry, (Max Buchon, François Coppée, Sully Prudhomme, Charles Baudelaire, Jean Richepin). But the real reappears in these practices with a new gaze, a new concern, and above all a new claim. On the contrary to 20th century poets, still steeped in the desire to have the real comply with the poem’s claims, this new generation is representative of a theoretical and practical change: the real is in itself the material of the poetic act. Set in motion by practices far from each other, modeled by different cultures, they make choices in language and demand rigor and simplicity in order to account of the real. Our work aims first at showing the evolution of the meaning and the writing of the real in 19th century poetry. This study will bring us then to analyze the different aspects of the writing of the real in the works of the three poets we have chosen, and to underline how they differ from their predecessor, and determine their specificity and their position in contemporary poetry

The question of “andinity” is manifested by repetitions of semes and terms which build up the mythical symbols of the water and the mountain that we analyze as isotopies. The research question concerns the adoption, adaptation or transfer of symbols, but also the resistance and rejection of the symbols coming from a Christian symbolic background. Nevertheless, if the world of the hills and the water lets the pre-Columbian substratum show itself, there are also links between the sens European tradition shares with Andean cultures

Повний текст джерелаThis doctoral thesis offers to study poetic practices in and out of the book from poets’ itineraries published by the Al Dante publishing house. The thesis is questioning the performance's notion, most often reduced to its scenic's dimension, but also the avant-garde's idea, too often limited to a political history which has ended. The avant-garde notion doesn't appear anymore as the element structuring the group but as an acting spectrality, leading to mix political issues - criticism of the institutions, criticism of the dominant language, challenges the places assigned by culture - with aesthetic issues. It is therefore a question of poetic translation as actualization of the political situation, and of transmediation. The stylistic approach has been gradually supplanted by a mediological approach to problematize heterogeneous practices. The Al Dante publishing house specificities allow us to see the book in a more general poetic ecosystem, where the book is no longer the only purpose, but the mediation between a process of creation and public events. So we can read this contemporary moment not only as the emergence of dominant themes, but also as a crisis of the book’s centrality and its economy. The Al Dante publishing house practices has led us to defend a theory of “editorial gesture” that cannot be reduced to the layout of manuscript or the production of a book and its marketing, but sometimes leads to the creation of books that didn’t find an editorial space. To push the boundaries of edition, to think the specificity poetry-action’s book is raising paradoxes: the disintegration of the linearity of the speeches, the reconfiguration of the page’s space, the specific adaptation of the books forms and fonts. These practices concern the book’s performative dimension. So it participates in a renewed way to a "typographic performance"

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis takes up the challenge of recording the recurrent occurrences in the History of French Poetry of an expression, coined by Stéphane Mallarmé : in the "Bibliography", which he adds to his Divagations, he publicly asserts that he has collected his "critical poems". After having explored the new shapes this word encompasses, and the "mental transpositions" those texts result in, the development tackles right away the issue of using the same expression in order to designate any inspired critical review, which can be found in a letter from Alexis Leger congratulating Jacques Rivière. His influence on professional literary Criticism seems to suggest the critical poem should be left only to poets: analyzing Aragon’s, Ponge’s and Du Bouchet’s inventions, one can lead an inquiry into the value of these marginal texts, their rewriting and the presence of the poet’s voice in the theoretical field. Then, the ambition of a third part is to think together texts that confront the impossible definition of the poem, and finally choose periphrasis, extension, duplication or digestion. One examines the generation revolving around Claude Royet- Journoud so as to work out a poetics of this undetermined genre, which must comprise a reflexion on the relation : this meridian takes into account the "matter of the interlocutor". At last, the thesis focuses on a contemporary poet, Philippe Beck. He gives reinterpretations of literary works, especially Mallarmé’s ones, in order to carry on writing the History of Poetry in a "brand new critical poem"

Повний текст джерелаThe purpose of the present thesis is to redraw Antonin Artaud's theoretical change of the notion of the ego, and to clarify the particular poetics that he established at the end of his life. The 1st part of the thesis focuses his early writings and especially the disease by which he could not think. What is the impossibility to think? For him this disease is only a psychological dysfunction. His disease consists in his incapacity to make, afterward, his internal thought correspond to the exteriorized words. At the time Artaud's ego remained minimized. In 2nd part, it is a matter of the theory of theater that he developed all his life. While his theory remains coherent in the sense that it is always about the relation between the text and the actor. But in the 30s as the text works as a double that haunts the ego of the actor and asked him a particular act, the text is always previous to the actor. On the other hand, in the 40s, Artaud does not accept any more the anteriority of the text with regard to the actor, what makes impossible the theater for the common sense of the term. The 3rd part approaches the hypertrophy of Artaud's ego. But this centrality of the ego is not solipsism because it is only afterward that he can say "everything went out of me". This rétrospectivité allows him to develop his own poetics through the reading of Les Chimères of Nerval where he establishes a new literary subject: subject of reading which dominates afterward the poetic space. This hypertrophy of the ego is not a symptom of the schizophrenia, but a theoretical support in the contemporary poetry, as the sound poetry or literalist poetry
