Yttrium oxide hydroxide nitrate (Y4O(OH)9NO3), which was prepared by polyvinyl alcoholassisted hydrothermal method from the Y(NO3)3 and KOH starting solution, was characterized by XRD and FE-SEM. The results revealed that pH value of the starting solution is an important factor which determines the morphology and size of the products. The obtained products varied from lamina microprisms to circular nanorods when the pH value increased from 7.0 to 8.0. In the high pH value above 8.0, the size of nanorods decreased with increasing pH value. A primary mechanism was proposed to explain the evolution of morphology and size of Y4O(OH)9NO3 products prepared under various pH values.

Yttrium oxide hydroxide nitrate nanorods were prepared via a facile hydrothermal method using PEG-6000 as template in Y(NO3)3 and KOH reactant system. The effect of hydrothermal treatment time on the crystallite structure, the crystallite shape and size was investigated by XRD and FE-SEM measurements. XRD results showed that the main phase of the as-prepared product was Y4O(OH)9NO3 crystal of monoclinic phase. FE-SEM images displayed that the size of the nanorods grows large with increasing time from 5h to 24h. Furthermore, no shape change was found, demonstrating that the as grown nanorods are stable when the reaction time increased from 1h to 24 h. Dissolution recrystallization process was proposed to explain the growth process of Y4O(OH)9NO3 nanorods.

Cette thèse porte sur le développement du tourisme rural thaïlandais mis à l'aune de l'expérience française. Elle s'efforce de questionner la transférabilité des savoirs dans la gestion touristique entre les communautés touristiques de Thaïlande (transfert interne) et entre la France et la Thaïlande (transfert externe). Ainsi, en Thaïlande, le tourisme rural se caractérise par le « travail collectif » des populations locales qui fonctionne selon deux modes de gestion principaux : « centralisé » et « décentralisé » que nous avons étudié dans deux communautés villageoises : Plai Pong Pang (province de Samut Songkhram, le Centre de la Thaïlande) et Koh Yao Noi (province de Phang-Nga, le Sud de la Thaïlande). Cette thèse peut évaluer la difficulté du transfert interne qui relève de différences de conditions sociales (histoire, culture, religion, mode de vie, etc. ) et de l'intégration divers des acteurs concernés tels que l'État et l'ONG qui influent un style de gestion différent. Elle relève aussi d'une approche sur la complexité de la transférabilité externe du fait des contrastes contextuels propres aux deux pays, en ce qui concerne leur ruralité ainsi que leurs politiques touristiques
The main subject of this thesis concerns the development of rural tourism in Thailand in the light of French experience. The potential for knowledge transfer in the field of tourism management is analyzed between Thai tourist communities (internal transfer) as well as between Thai and French resorts (external transfer). It is seen that rural tourism management in Thailand is based on "team work" at local level following two main models of "centralized" and "decentralized" management. The examples of two Thai villages were taken as case studies: Plai Pong Pang in Samut Songkhram province of central Thailand, and Koh Yao Noi in Phang-Nga province in the south of the country. Main obstacles to internal transfers are postulated as resulting from differences in social conditions (history, culture, religion, lifestyle, etc. ) as well as from the influences of stakeholders such as the State and NGOs who contribute their own, different management styles. The complexity of external transfers is argued as being due to the contextual contrasts between the two countries in terms of rurality and tourism policies

<em>Abstract</em>.—We described and analyzed the capacity of a community to adapt to the impacts of a tsunami on their livelihoods. We looked at the community’s responses to the impacts of the tsunami and the factors that influenced its adaptive capacity. Based on this analysis, we present a number of lessons learned that are meant to enhance the adaptive capacity and resilience of communities to the impacts of sudden disasters, such as a tsunami, or a slow-building catastrophe, such as global warming. The study community consisted of two village groups in an island community named Koh Yao Noi in southern Thailand that sustained losses to its resources and means of livelihood from the Indian Ocean tsunami of 26 December 2004. The Intergovernmental Organization of the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia–Pacific selected the community as a study site in order to gain a broader understanding of the effects of external assistance provided for livelihoods recovery and long-term development.

Data mining in graph databases has received much attention. We have witnessed many algorithms proposed for mining frequent graphs. Inokuchi, Washio, and Nishimura (2002) and Karpis and Kumar (1998) introduce the Apriori-like algorithms, AGM and FSG, to mine the complete set of frequent graphs. However, both algorithms are not scalable as they require multiple scans of databases and tend to generate many candidates during the mining process. Subsequently, Yan and Han (2002) and Nijssen and Kok (2004) propose depth-first graph mining approaches called gSpan and Gaston, respectively. These approaches are essentially memory-based and their efficiencies decrease dramatically if the graph database is too large to fit into the main memory.

Analizo la obra de Denise Milan, desde la perspectiva del giro ontológico, como tendencia tanto filosófica como estética. Propongo una lectura crítica, poniendo especial atención al modo de comprensión y despliegue espacial del objeto de su investigación artística; las piedras. La artista a través de sus instalaciones, construye una nueva relación entre la naturaleza y la cultura, que rompe la dicotomía entre los seres humanos y el utilitarismo de lo no-vivo, propio del mundo capitalista y responsable del “desencantamiento del mundo” (Harvey, 1996). La obra de Milan construye un paisaje nuevo de encuentro e intercambio donde evidencia que no sólo los seres humanos son poseedores de conocimiento, y que éste existe en el mundo como algo distinto a lo humano, como un fenómeno corporizado que tiene efectos tangibles (Kohn, 2007, p.17). De este modo, ya no sólo los seres vivos, sino que ahora también los no-vivos; las piedras, se constituyen como dispositivos semióticos. En este punto, nos asomamos al principio de una relación ecológica más profunda, donde debemos considerar cómo las piedras se significan en un continuum con lo existente por medio de aquel principio esencial integrador que es espiritual (Kohn 2021, XVII), lo que implica ontológicamente el reconocimiento de realidades desde una perspectiva diferente a la humana (Ruiz-Serna&amp;Del Cairo, 2016). A partir de la intuición estética de Denise Milan, que encuentra rasgos identitarios en el animismo histórico -como forma estratégica de la interacción empática- nos introducimos en un espacio de co-existencia que constituye un aporte a las urgentes demandas de cambio del paradigma antropocentrista hacia la naturaleza, estableciendo un giro del discurso hacia aquello considerado no-vivo, que ahora, de acuerdo con Povinelli, es observado desde sus relaciones de intercambio, reciprocidad y sentido con respecto a lo existente.

The understanding of shock interactions and mixing phenomena is crucial to design and analysis of advanced turbines. A nozzle guide vane (NGV) is experimentally investigated at subsonic and transonic off-design conditions (M2is of 0.6 and 0.95) in an annular sector at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The effect of cooling ejection (3% of main stream mass flow rate) on the downstream flow field is also studied. The airfoil loading is monitored with pneumatic taps. The downstream pressure field is characterized at four different axial locations using a 5-hole probe and a total pressure probe that contains a single piezo-resistive transducer. The probe with a piezo resistive transducer is also used as a virtual 3-hole probe to measure the flow angle. The time-averaged yaw angle measured with the virtual 3-hole probe is in agreement with the 5-hole probe data. At subsonic conditions the wake causes a pressure loss of 7% of the upstream total pressure and covers 25% of the pitch whereas the pressure deficit is doubled in transonic operation. The coolant ejection results in an additional loss of 2% of the upstream total pressure. The flow speed does not have a significant effect on the wake width at 7% Cax. However, the low pressure region has different width at far downstream depending on the flow velocity. The fillet at the hub region has a significant effect on the secondary flow development. The frequency spectrums at the different conditions clearly reveal the shear layers. The results aim to help the characterization of mixing phenomena downstream of the NGV.
