In this proceedings, the STAR preliminary results on femtoscopic correlations of identical kaons from Au+Au collisions at [see formula in PDF] =200 GeV are presented. The measured kaon source radii are studied as a function of collision energy as well as centrality and transverse pair mass mT. In addition, extracted kaon blast-wave freeze-out parameters are presented.

We study the scaling with the number of colors Nc of the weak amplitudes mediating kaon mixing and decay, in the limit of light charm masses (mu = md = ms = mc). The amplitudes are extracted directly on the lattice for Nc = 3 - 7 (with preliminar results for Nc = 8 and 17) using twisted mass QCD. It is shown that the (sub-leading) 1 /Nc corrections to [see formula in PDF] are small and that the naive Nc → ∞ limit, [see formula in PDF] = 3/4, seems to be recovered. On the other hand, the O (1/Nc) corrections in K → ππ amplitudes (derived from K → π matrix elements) are large and fully anti-correlated in the I = 0 and I = 2 channels. This may have some implications for the understanding of the ΔI = 1/2 rule.

We present a study of the isospin-breaking (IB) corrections to pseudoscalar (PS) meson masses using the gauge configurations produced by the ETM Collaboration with Nf = 2+1+1 dynamical quarks at three lattice spacings varying from 0.089 to 0.062 fm. Our method is based on a combined expansion of the path integral in powers of the small parameters [see formula in PDF] and αem, where [see formula in PDF] is the renormalized quark mass and αem the renormalized fine structure constant. We obtain results for the pion, kaon and Dmeson mass splitting; for the Dashen’s theorem violation parameters ϵγ(MM, 2 GeV), ϵπ0 ϵK0(MS, 2 GeV) for the light quark masses [see formula in PDF] for the flavour symmetry breaking parameters R(MS, 2 GeV) and Q(MS, 2 GeV) and for the strong IB effects on the kaon decay constants.

Abstract: In der jüngsten mediävistischen Forschung hat sich zunehmend herausgestellt, dass wir nun doch globalere Perspektiven in den Blick nehmen müssen. Global kann sehr viel bedeuten, und oftmals hat es leider bisher nur als ein Feigenblatt gedient, indem man einfach Werke, Dichter, Ereignisse etc. von Ost und West nebeneinander stellte, was natürlich letztlich praktisch gar nichts bedeutet. Globale Konzepte sind nur dann sinnvoll, wenn sie transdisziplinär getragen sind und darauf basieren, dass echte Formen des Austausches oder der gegenseitigen Kenntnisnahme stattfanden. Marco Polos Reise nach China dürfte als ein sehr bekanntes Beispiel dafür dienen. Das europäische Mittelalter kann generell gut dafür dienen, das Verständnis von globalen Beziehungen oder Kontakten zu verfolgen, wie sie sich im Laufe der Zeit entwickelten (vgl. dazu jetzt A. Abstract A new treatment for shallow clouds has been introduced into the Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF). The new scheme, called the cumulus potential (CuP) scheme, replaces the ad hoc trigger function used in the Kain–Fritsch cumulus parameterization with a trigger function related to the distribution of temperature and humidity in the convective boundary layer via probability density functions (PDFs). An additional modification to the default version of WRF is the computation of a cumulus cloud fraction based on the time scales relevant for shallow cumuli. Results from three case studies over the U.S. Department of Energy’s Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) site in north-central Oklahoma are presented. These cases were selected because of the presence of shallow cumuli over the ARM site. The modified version of WRF does a much better job predicting the cloud fraction and the downwelling shortwave irradiance than control simulations utilizing the default Kain–Fritsch scheme. The modified scheme includes a number of additional free parameters, including the number and size of bins used to define the PDF, the minimum frequency of a bin within the PDF before that bin is considered for shallow clouds to form, and the critical cumulative frequency of bins required to trigger deep convection. A series of tests were undertaken to evaluate the sensitivity of the simulations to these parameters. Overall, the scheme was found to be relatively insensitive to each of the parameters.

With the growing importance of e-learning and increased competition among e learning providers, website designers must cater to users' needs more accurately. Interfaces need to provide the features users demand to experience an optimal learning environment. This empirical research investigates whether the function of specific e learning features are either basic, performance related, indifferent, or attractive. The Kano model is applied to examine the impact of 73 e learning features on satisfaction. 1,034 completed questionnaires from an online survey distributed to economics and business students are the basis for the assignment to the Kano factors. Results show that among others, basic features include learning statistics, sample exams, and videotaped lectures. Educational videos are seen as an attractive factor. In terms of different groups of learners, findings confirm that Bachelor students are more demanding than Master and Doctoral students. Additionally, importance ratings allow recommendations for an implementation sequence for the features examined.

PDM är ett system, byggd på hård-och mjukvara, som förenklar informationshantering under konstruktionsfasen av produkter. Denna typ av system möjliggör spridning av kvalitativ information på ett säkert och strukturerat vis. Organisationer som på ett strukturerat och systematiskt sätt arbetar med produkt- och processkvalitet har en fördel när det gäller konkurrens och tenderar att nå stora framgångar. I denna studie undersöks om ett PDM-system kan användas som ett kvalitetsverktyg i den tillverkande industrin. Undersökningen genomförs med bland annat empiriska studier om kvalitet och PDM-system. För att få en förståelse i produktframtagningsarbetet genomfördes intervjuer med personer involverade i konstruktionsarbetet där de fick berätta om sina erfarenheter. Studien avslutades med en riskanalys enligt miniriskmodellen för att besvara vår frågeställning. Studien visade att ett Product Data Management system har en kvalitetshöjande effekt, främst inom informationskvalitet, som direkt påverkar produktkvaliteten. Arbeten som genomförs under konstruktionsfasen av en produkt blir mer strukturerade och underlättar förbättringar av befintliga produkter.
PDM is a system, built on hard- and software, that simplifies the handling of information during the design phase of product development. These types of systems enable distribution of qualitative information in a safe and structured way. Organizations that work with product- and process quality in a structured and systematic manner tend to achieve great success and a competitive advantage. In this study we have investigated if a PDM system can be classified as a quality tool in manufacturing industries. The report is based on empirical studies regarding quality and Product Data Management. To get an insight and understanding about the development of a product interviews were held with people involved in the design process. At the end of the study a risk analysis was made according to the mini risk model to answer our initial question. The result of the study indicates that a Product Data Management system has a quality enhancing effect, mainly on the quality of the information, that directly affects the quality of the product. The work being done during the design process becomes more structured and simplifies the continuous improvement of the product.

How well are teachers prepared for digital technology in their work? In this chapter, we report on questions in the TALIS 2018 survey concerning information and communication technology (ICT). Teachers were asked how they use digital technology for student activities, how prepared they are for digital practice, and how they assess their own need for continuous professional development (CDP) related to using digital technology in a classroom setting. This chapter is divided into two main parts. In the first part, we introduce previous research in the field of digital competence. We look at how the use of digital technology has evolved in Norwegian schools and how it has been supported by various educational reforms. We also refer to frameworks and various analytical tools to better understand students’ digital competence and teachers’ professional digital competence (PDC). Furthermore, we consider the role of teacher education in developing teachers’ and student teachers’ PDC. In the second part of the chapter, we present findings from TALIS 2018. Here we highlight teachers’ needs and participation in CPD, the preparations they have received in teacher education, and how they use digital technology to promote students’ learning and engagement in various teaching activities. Findings on classroom management in technology-savvy environments are presented, and the general use of ICT within a Nordic comparative perspective is discussed. In conclusion, we summarize the most important findings and raise issues in need of further research.

In retrospect, it was most likely this event which led to a split between the largely Kanuri-dominated, Borno-centered Boko Haram under the command of Shekau, and the Hausa-dominated Ansaru. This split was later partially papered over when Boko Haram swore allegiance to the Islamic State (spring 2015), but the differences between these two groupings were very real during the period 2012–14. In the video debut of Ansaru, which emerged on YouTube on 2 June 2012, in Hausa and English, the group emphasized the inexcusability of killing Muslims (a critique of Boko Haram) and the need to protect Nigerian Muslims against violent Christian organizations...

The communiques highlight the dramatic Boko Haram conquests of late 2014 into early 2015, and the amalgamation of the group with the Islamic State. Although not devoid of Islamic slogans and citations, for the most part these are propagandistic descriptions of the collapse of Nigerian authority in large sections of Borno and Adamawa states. 1 December marks a disassociation from the Kano Mosque attack of 28 November 2014 (text 49), symbolizing the rift between Shekau who carried out the attack and Nur (see text 72), while on 3 December there was an attack on the Izala and Sufi enemies of Boko Haram. Chem. 2008, 73, 7616) the diastereoselective intramolecular addition of an allyl silane 4 to give the tetrahydrofuran 5. In analogy to what is known about the intramolecular ene reaction, the diastereocontrol observed for this cyclization may depend on the allyl silane being Z. Michel R. Gagné of the University of North Carolina found (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2008, 130, 12177) that the Ni-catalyzed coupling of organozinc halides could be extended to glycosyl halides such as 7. This opened ready access to C -alkyl and C -aryl glycosides, including Salmochelin SX 10. Isamu Shiina of the Tokyo University of Science established (Organic Lett. 2008, 10, 3153) that the acid-mediated cyclization of the Sharpless-derived epoxide 10 proceeded with clean inversion, to give 11. Sažetak: Kvaliteta proizvoda jedan je od glavnih kriterija stjecanja kompetitivnih prednosti u odnosu na konkurenciju. Pri tome oznake kvalitete mogu biti način komuniciranja između proizvoda i kupca. Više istraživanja provedenih među potencijalnim kupcima je pokazalo kako su ispitanici spremni platiti više za proizvod koji im nudi veću kvalitetu. Uvođenjem oznaka zemljopisnog podrijetla potiče se ruralno gospodarstvo te tako pridonosi povećanju prihoda poljoprivrednika te zadržavanju stanovništva u udaljenim područjima i područjima s otežanim uvjetima gospodarenja. Na taj se način povećava i tržišna vrijednost proizvoda gospodarskih subjekata jer se jamči njihova posebnost u odnosu na druge slične proizvode ili prehrambene proizvode. Osim toga, zahvaljujući uvođenju oznake zemljopisnog podrijetla kupci mogu donositi odluku o kupnji na temelju jasnih informacija o posebnim svojstvima proizvoda koje kupuju. Na razini Europske unije razlikuju se tri oznake: „zaštićena oznaka izvornosti“, „zaštićena oznake zemljopisnog podrijetla“ i „zajamčeno tradicionalni specijaliteti“.Oznaka izvornosti ili kvalitete je alat marketinškog pristupa jer su kupci spremni platiti nešto više za proizvod koji im jamči kvalitetu, ali i alat za ruralni razvoj zbog činjenice da se oznaka zemljopisnog podrijetla ne može premjestiti na drugo područje pa daje dodatnu vrijednost ruralnom području zbog kojeg je proizvod zaštićen. U empirijskom dijelu ovog rada autori su proveli istraživanje tržišne prepoznatljivosti „Novigradske dagnje“ na uzorku od 574 ispitanika. Rezultati istraživanja, korišteni su za slijedeći korak definiranja strateškog pozicioniranja proizvoda „Novigradske dagnje“ u cilju postizanja ekonomskih i ostalih pozitivnih učinaka. Stoga se povezanost marikulture, poljoprivredne proizvodnje i turizma nameće kao slijedeći korak kroz održivi turizam. Održivi turizam je u prvom redu usmjeren na povećanje zadovoljstva turista te društveno-ekonomske koristi, očuvanje prirodne i kulturne baštine i snižavanje negativnih utjecaja turizma na lokalnu zajednicu u cjelini. Abstract: Product quality is one of the main criteria for gaining competitive advantage over the competition. In doing so, quality labels can be a way of communication between the product and the customer. Several researches conducted among potential customers has demonstrated that respondents are willing to pay more for a product that offers them higher quality. The introduction of geographical origin indications encourages the rural economy and thus contributes to increase of the farmers’ income of and retention of the population in remote areas and areas with difficult conditions of economy. In this way, the market value of the products of economic operators is increased because their uniqueness in relation to other similar products or food products is guaranteed. In addition, thanks to the introduction of the geographical origin indication, customers can make a purchase decision based on clear information about the specific characteristics of the products they buy. Three designations are discerned at the level of European Union: “Protected Designation of Origin” (PDO), “Protected Geographical Indication” (PGI) and “Traditional Specialties Guaranteed” (TSG). Label of origin or quality is a tool of marketing approach because customers are willing to pay more for a product that guarantees quality to them, but also a tool for rural development due to the fact that the geographical origin indication cannot be transferred to another area and provides added value to rural areas which makes the product protected. The authors have conducted in the empirical part of this paper a study of market recognition of “Novigrad mussels” on a sample of 574 respondents. The results of the research were used for the next step of defining the strategic positioning of the product “Novigrad mussels” in order to achieve economic and other positive effects. Therefore, the connection between mariculture, agricultural production and tourism is imposed as the next step through sustainable tourism. Sustainable tourism is primarily aimed at increasing tourist satisfaction and socio-economic benefits, preserving natural and cultural heritage and reducing the negative impacts of tourism on the local community as a whole.
