Tato dizertační práce se zaměřuje na problematiku koordinace strukturálních reforem v kontextu přičleňování ČR k EU. Zkoumá, zda proces koordinace reforem v EU, navržený pro ?staré? členské země je aktuální i pro ČR, jakožto ?novou? členskou zemi, která prošla procesem transformace z centrálně plánované na tržní ekonomiku. Práce vytváří všeobecný analytický rámec, který bere do úvahy nejen potenciál koordinace politik ovlivnit obsahovou stránku národních reformních strategií, ale také její potenciál vytvořit vhodné podmínky pro jejich implementaci. Uzavírá, že Lisabonská strategie koordinace reforem může přispět implementaci potřebných strukturálních reforem, ačkoliv je to podmíněno řadou faktorů.

This thesis is an analysis of the differences which exist in an actor´s and director´s approach towards Shakespeare´s texts in Czech and Anglo-Saxon countries. The aim of the thesis is not a literary content analysis; emphasis is put on the approach of actors or other theatrical artists towards Shakespeare´s plays. By using the word approach in this context it is meant, how actors, directors or production teams work with Shakespeare´s texts and to what extent they are inspired by it during rehearsal. The main method of research is interviews with theatre artists from both cultures and a significant part of the thesis contains the synthesis of the interviews. The author´s own experience, information gained from relevant literature and opinions from the people with whom the interviews have been led has shown, that differences in an actor´s and director´s approach towards Shakespeare´s text in these cultures are predominantly a result of translation, socio-political development and a diverse way of perception of theatres in the countries.

The aim of this thesis is to explore investment opportunities of the Czech population, the ability of businesses to obtain needed capital for their investment plans and possibilities to obtain these funds from individuals through securities. The main part of this work is to evaluate the dependence between the securities markets and the growth of gross domestic product between 2006 - 2012. For the research, graphical and correlation analysis were used. Due to detected dependencies between gross domestic product and the bond market, issuance of bonds with a five-month delay of the positive fluctuation of gross domestic product was recommended. The final section is concentrates on prediction of the future development of the bond market, which proved to be unpredictable.

The concern of this thesis is the relationship between music and time, more precisely a specific kind of temporality, which is known as transcendent, sacred, sacral or "the third" time. This text is meant to be an introduction into the subject matter. At first the relationship between musical and non-musical time is discussed. Then the phenomenon of transcendent time is put into the relationship with theories of musical time presented by other, both Czech and foreign, authors. The last part of this paper contains an exemplary listing of composer strategies which can help in inducing an experience of transcendent time. These strategies are demonstrated on songs and compositions originating in different genres and cultures.

This diploma thesis looks at the region 's cultural sector in the Czech Republic , its functioning, structure and systems of financing. The basic approach of this work is economic and analytic view. The work deals with the environment in which cultural product is formed , the environment in which it is implemented, about the financial mechanisms that allow the formation of the product. Based on the analysis of specific data reflects upon the efficiency of certain bodies and over the meaningfulness of their financial, management and production mechanisms. The thesis analyzes the basic sources of funding for the cultural sector in the Czech Republic and based on the known attempts to suggest possible new methods and modifications to existing funding leading to greater efficiency and possibly better functioning entities within the sector involved, as well as the entire industry itself. However, this is only relevant proposal, which may contribute to improve the current attempt. But to definitely find new effective financing solutions of cultural sector to streamline the functioning of the current system and solve some of the problems associated with its functioning is not and can not be the aim of this work.

Dissertation titled Issues of musical programs on Czech Television II deals with the legitimacy of the occurrence of classical music on Czech TV, its quantitative volume and its relationship to other musical genres in the broadcasting. It compares the number of produced hours of the various musical genres at different times of Czechoslovak Television and Czech Television in Prague (the main redaction of musical broadcasting, Creative group Radim Smetana and Vitezslav Sykora, the Music and drama department and the Drama, music and children's department), esp. during years 1980 - 1990, 2000 - 2005 and 2006 - 2012 with researches of a leading Czech musicologist Mikulas Bek which deal with musical preferences of the Czech population and are unique due to its scale and treatment. The work also seeks to highlight the importance of making popular educational programs that improve viewers' orientation in more demanding genres of symphonic, opera and chamber music. It also mentions the necessity of teamwork with respect to a sufficiently broad range of music programs and appreciates musical education needed for the production of these programs.

The aim of this thesis is to determine what affects cross-national differences in attitudes towards immigrants and immigration in Europe while using mainly theoretical framework of the Ethnic Competition Theory and the Human Capital Theory. We use multilevel models to test the hypotheses based on these theories. We use individual level data from European Social Survey 2014/2015 and country level data from World Bank, Eurostat, and MIPEX. The thesis finds a support for the Human Capital Theory, but does not find a clear support for the Ethnic Competition Theory. Even though economic vulnerability of a person is associated with attitudes towards immigrants, this association can be due to education. It seems in this thesis that people with higher education tend to hold more positive attitudes towards immigration of both skill levels of immigrants, professionals and laborers, than individuals with less years of education. Therefore, we find a support for the Human Capital Theory. On the contextual level, more permissive migrant integration policies seem to have positive effect on attitudes towards immigrants. Further investigation of the association between attitudes towards immigrants and immigration, and education and migrant integration policies is needed.

The aim of this thesis is to introduce a problem which was not very well developed prior to the implementation of the Czech National Corpus: Czech morphological variants. All these variants were analyzed from the perspective of different Czech grammar standards (Čechová, 2000; Česká mluvnice, 1981; Příruční mluvnice češtiny, 1995; Akademická mluvnice II, 1986; and Šmilauer, 1972), the Czech literary dictionary (Slovník spisovné češtiny pro školu a veřejnost, 2004) and the Czech National Corpus (Korpus Syn2005). Analyzed variants were taken from all the Czech nouns: masculine animate and inanimate, feminine and neutral nouns. Due to the limited extension of this work, it was not possible to include variants from substantives with a variation in gender, adjectival substantives, indeclinable substantives, territorial substantives and personal substantives. These topics would have to be considered in a future work. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter presents the theoretical basis of the work. In the first part of this chapter we analyze the composition of the Czech language from different points. Title: Achievement motivation in cycling Aims: Main aim of this thesis was find out what motivates cyclists in achieving. I have used questionnaire LMI (Achievement motivation questionnaire) for cyclist on different level. Next step was comparing the results between all cyclists groups and describing main differences in motivation. Methods: For gaining all the data I used a questionnaire method. Questionnaires were spread in written form as well as in electronic form. I cooperated with the directors of amateur competitons in the Czech Republic, Czech Cycling Federation and other cyclistic unions. Respondent's answers were elaborated descriptively and analyticly by standardized statistics methods in software SPSS 17. Results: In the research were compared three cycling groups: Amateurs, Professionals and Hobby cyclists. In four of ten dimensions was confirmed different results in motivational structure. Results interpretation has shown that profesionals tend to trust in their success and dispose by biggest competition and ambition. The only dimension where amateur cyclists achieved significantly higher values opposite to professionals was in internality. Title: About identification of motor predispositions in triathlon Aims: The aim of our study was to find and verify appropriate indicators predicting the on-coming performance in a short triathlon and determine their level for the junior category. Methods: In our study, we combined quantitative and qualitative approaches with a predominance of quantitative methods. In the first phase of the research, we used quantitative methods, confirmatory factor analysis for verification of models of predispositions and elaboration of performance standards for individual tests by means of T-points. In the second part of the research, we used the qualitative method (casuistic studies) to validate the test battery and its application in practice. Results: We have compiled a structural model of motor predispositions for short triathlon, which explained 91% of all cross-correlations of seventeen used indicators. Predispositions for triathlon were categorized into five separate groups; for swimming, cycling and running (i.e. according to individual disciplines), and functional and psychological predispositions. Finding a lower limit boundary of performance in the completed tests is considered to be the most important issue for the assessment of future performance in triathlon. The theme of my diploma project deals with an influence of social aspects on approach to parenthood. Many changes have happened in question of family behaviour during the last decades in the Czech society. The goal of my thesis is to contribute to understanding of social events, which influence formation of attitudes and immediate approach to parenthood of contemporary population and fitting research of these aspects to the wide scope of special socio-demographic factors. The first part of theoretical section concerns with historical changes in family behaviour and its contemporary trends. I also illustrate the list of basic demographic data connected with parenthood. The second part of the theoretical section describes development of family policy in the Czech Republic and its contemporary status. The main accent is focused on contemporary family steps. The third section is addressed to the research. It evaluate effectivity of contemporary steps of family policy of the state. Especially the influence of these steps on the parents decisions on their future parenthhod. This thesis ends with discussion and brief conclusion.

The author - who has concerned himself with the problem for more than twenty years - has solved it in an original way by combining three stages of the European Social Survey (ESS) conducted in 2002-2007, and by supplementing it with a special Czech survey conducted in 2007/2008.

Is it true, that children and youth do not have examples in their parents? Is it true, that children and youth cannot take advantage their leisure time meaningful? The thesis deals with the subject of non-finite clauses in Portuguese. Our target was not only to investigate and describe this inherent part of Portuguese grammar but also to assess the frequency of its use in the language. The thesis consists of three theoretical and one practical part. The first theoretical part is conceived as a general introduction to the problem of non-finite clauses and records how it is understood by Portuguese and Czech linguists. The next part of the research is dedicated in detail to the individual nominal forms of Portuguese verbs, i.e. to infinitive, gerund and participle. In the third part we divide the non-finite clauses into substantive, adjectival and adverbial and provide each of the types with examples found in Portuguese written literature. This linguistic corpus that we created represents the practical part of our study. The last part of the work summarises the most common conjunctions used in subordinate clauses with finite verb form and the equivalent prepositions in non-finite clauses. We counted all the non-finite clauses in four books written in Portuguese and concluded our research by stating which type is the most frequent.

The goal is to present different types of negation that occur in contemporary German. The author shows how this topic is processed in the main grammar books of german language and in different monographies that deal with the negation in German. The most of the grammar books and monographies mention only two types of negation: sentence negation (Satznegation) and special negation (Sondernegation). Only the authors Nussbaumer / Sitta mention and describe in their essay other types of negation. These are: full sentence negation / full P-0 negation (volle Satznegation / volle P-0-Negation), reduced sentence negation / reduced P-0 negation (reduzierte Satznegation / reduzierte P-0- Negation), P-1 negation (P-1-Negation), "floating" (Floating), negation of compressed predicate (Negation des komprimierten Prädikats), "shrunk" negation (geronnene Negation) and special negation (Sondernegation). Crucially, the thesis deals with the question, which of the ways of ordering entries, the alphabetical order or nesting, will be more advantageous to the supposed addressee group of a new German-Czech Academic Dictionary (GDTAW). Besides strictly linguistic points of view, factors such as the user aspect and usefulness are given special attention in this thesis. The analysis shows that the alphabetical order of entries might be more useful to the users of the new dictionary than the nesting or other types of regroupment. As a result, the author focuses on how to indicate word-formation links in dictionaries with a strictly alphabetical macrostructure. In connection with this, the thesis presents an analysis of selected bilingual and monolingual dictionaries.

The key aim of this work is a method of patriotic education in our schools, mainly in the first grade of primary schools. The point of this work is to awaken patriotism in society again. In the first step we are informed about the important ideas that enable to develope the assumptions neccesary for the patriotic recognition and for an increase in patriotic feeling. The theory pays the attention to morality, influencing behaviour; for example, material and physical values and the aesthetic. It describes each historical term individually, from the beginning of national recovery during the first half of 19th century to the present days. It underlines the need to understand correctly the individual ideas and it points out the general chaos and risks of their interpretations in society. It recognises the important tasks that our society has to face to maintain the education of patriotism succesfully. The practical aspect contains the class discussions, interwiews and analysis of individual pupils, teachers, directors and it compares the level and quality of class debats with teacher`s attitude. The main thing was to find out the teachers' personal feeling about patriotism, his or her attitude towards its education and the way he or she communicates this during the lessons.

In this thesis that is divided in two sections, I will research into types of surnames in the town of České Budějovice. The first section is theoretical and shortly introduces the development of surnames since their origin. The second section is practical ? investigative and addresses their concrete zoning in České Budějovice. As a part of the practical section there is also a synopsis of surnames divided in several groups based on a variety of criteria. At the end of the thesis there is an index of surnames in alphabet order containing also the exact pages with their appearance.

The thesis being presented deals with the oldest history of the Veselý family mill which is situated on the river Lužnice in Tábor. It supplements the previously published studies on the mill history with new and more thorough pieces of knowledge about the mill life and the human fates of its owners since the beginning of the mill?s existence till the end of the 18th century. The thesis is divided into five chapters, it has a constituent of the literary works and sources used register and appendices. The initial part of the thesis provides us with an overview of the literature which is dedicated to the topic of mills and milling industry; it analyzes either archival or physical material sources which is the source of the thesis investigation. The first chapter is focused on the history of mills located in the immediate proximity of the town Tábor. The second chapter is dedicated to the Tábor millers? gild; it also describes the activities of the mill owners, the Veselý family, within the gild. The third chapter processes the oldest history of the mill, the fourth chapter deals with the mill development in the 17th century. The crucial part of the thesis is the last chapter which brings the history of the mill since the year of 1660 closer, since when it had been owned by the Veselý dynasty, till the year of 1800. It describes the family life of the millers, their social status in the town of Tábor, extension of their property and also various disputes and heritage issues. The result of the analysis is summarized in the conclusion.

Pro určitou redukci světa. které se Halas ve svém přístupu nutně dopouští, mě zajímalo konfrontovat jeho vidění s některými filozofický'mi koncepcemi, především s fenomenologii, která specificky a metodologicky definovanou redukci staví za základ jedinečného poměru k věcnému světu. Nástrojem mého přístupu k básníkovu ranému dílu se mi stalo filozofické dílo Emmanuela Lévinase, kde se fenomenologie přibližuje existenciálnímu pojetí, a dílo Maurice Merleau-Pontyho, kde je řešena problematika vnímání v souvislosti s vizuálním a taktilním prožíváním světa. František Halas ve svém díle zcela zjevně usiloval o nalezení místa, ze kterého by mohl vidět fenomenální svět v celku, aniž by v něm zpočátku muset být přítomen: žít svou smrt, říkal. Jako nástroj objevil poezii, poznávací proces jasnozřivější vědy, I která mu měla umožnit vidět svět jedinečným způsobem. Byl to projev určité reduktivní estetiky vnímání světa. Zpočátku usiloval omezit svůj svět, vlastně světu odumřít, aby jej mohl nezaujatě a především v celku pozorovat a svým dílem o něm referovat.

The aim of this diploma thesis was to describe the attitudes of Roma towards the majority ethnic group and towards people with various differences. I tried to map the attitudes of Roma towards the majority ethnic group, their social distance to them, whether and to what extent they experience conflicts with persons of other ethnic groups and different social groups and how they view otherness. I created the work in collaboration with researchers from the National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ) on the project The Stranger as a Symbol of Otherness - How Personality Affects Our Attitudes. The experimental group of Roma people had 15 respondents, the control group 55 respondents. I conducted the research using a Bogardus scale and a conflict-oriented questionnaire, and I obtained average values for individual items from the answers. Due to the different size of the experimental and control groups, I also used the analysis of the Mann Whitney test to determine the significance of the difference between the observed groups. The results led me to the conclusion that the degree of social distance of the Roma towards the majority in comparison with the degree of social distance of the majority towards the Roma is statistically insignificant. This work aimed at the utilization of chemical principles for stabilization of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of carboranethiol derivatives on a flat gold surface. Ideas employing surface confined coordination complex formation and dipole-dipole intermolecular interactions were outlined and the respective literature survey was compiled. Preliminary experiments were carried out to test for their feasibility and surfaces modified with self assembled monolayers proved very sensitive to reaction conditions ordinarily used for bulk synthesis. The chemical sensitivity of the studied surfaces, the necessity of using appropriate surface-sensitive analytical techniques and the depth of the problem initially defined made this task both advanced and challenging. The formation of intermolecular coordination complexes with ω-carboxylated SAMs of meta-carborane-9-thiol was chosen to answer those issues, extending the previous work of the author on carboxylated carboranethiol isomers presented in his bachelor thesis. Concepts different of those based on coordination chemistry are briefly discussed as well, but more as prospects for future work and to present this work in a broader context to which it belongs. 摘 要 全球定位系統掩星（GPS RO）觀測資料於本研究中被同化於模式中，進一 步想了解其對災害性天氣系統的影響，如北印度洋的超級氣旋Gonu（2007）和 通過台灣地區的梅雨鋒面（2012）。本研究一系列的實驗使用WRF(Weather Research and Forecasting )模式和三維變分資料同化方法（3DVAR），並於研究 中同化福爾摩沙衛星三號(FORMOSAT-3COSMIC)GPS RO折射率觀測資料和其 他用來驗證GPS RO的影響的觀測資料。 於颶風Gonu 的研究中， 我們使用SSM/I 衛星觀測資料(Special Sensor Microwave Imager)、傳統觀測資料（GTS）、QuikSCAT衛星觀測資料和包含GPS RO折射率觀測資料的虛擬渦漩。於本實驗中，同化不同的觀測資料在氣旋路徑 和強度預報有顯著不同，比較所有實驗路徑誤差，其中GPS-cyc(GPS cyclic)之氣 旋路徑誤差最小，而同化SSM/I衛星觀測資料模擬的氣旋強度最強。在敏感度實 驗中我們發現Gonu氣旋附近的GPS觀測資料修正了其環境條件，進一步造成對路 徑預測的影響，其中最接近氣旋中心的探空資料表現出最大的貢獻。敏感度實驗 中指出，GPS在模式高層初始場較冷的溫度增量對於路徑預測的改善有顯著的影 響，進一步確立同化GPS觀測資料於路徑預報中扮演著重要的角色。 梅雨（2012）鋒面系統數個實驗中，於模式中同化了GPS 掩星觀測資料並 使用三個不同的觀測算子如局地折射率(Local Reflectivity 簡稱REF)、局地偏折 角(Local Bending Angle 簡稱LBA)和非局地折射率(Nonlocal Refractivity 簡稱 EPH)，試圖了解同化不同的同化運算子對於梅雨預報的影響。我們發現同化掩 星資料對於梅雨(2012)個案預報結果皆有助益，其中LBA 實驗模擬第二天降雨 結果最接近觀測，其次為REF 實驗，這兩組實驗的模式初始場水氣增量皆比EPH 實驗大，其中我們發現數個位在蒙古和中國北方的掩星觀測資料扮演關鍵的角色。 在本研究中為國內首次嘗試這三種不同的掩星觀測算子間的比較，並表現模式同 化局地篇折角的可行性。

A nursing research is an integral part of the nursing. An implementation of research activities in this field makes a basis for an improving of the nursing care and a development of the discipline itself. For nurses working in a clinical department who should carry out research investigations, there is important a knowledge how to conduct investigations and a support from the hospital management. Without this support they could not put the research results into practice which is currently based more on standard procedures. A theoretical part of the thesis deals with the nursing research, research concepts and its historical development. Then it also discusses ethical principles of the nursing research, nurses´ fundamental roles, evidence-based activities, opportunities of the research funding in the Czech Republic and an evaluation of a scientific work. An aim of the thesis was to establish the awareness, participation and interest of the primary and secondary level management in the nursing research. We have identified four hypotheses which we verified by a quantitative survey. H1: More general nurses with a higher education participate in the nursing research than the nurses who are graduates of the secondary medical school. H 2: General nurses-managers who completed a university education are better prepared for an implementation of the nursing research than nurses-managers with the secondary education. H3: The primary and secondary level nursing management of Hospital in České Budějovice participate in the nursing research more than the management from other hospitals in the South Bohemian Region. H 4: The nursing management which is involved in the nursing research apply the research results into practice. The quantitative survey was made by a questionnaire technique. The research sample consisted of nurses working on the positions of the secondary and primary level managers in the inpatients departments of hospitals in the South Bohemian Region. The investigation was conducted in eight hospitals in the South Bohemian Region. It is possible to say, that the awareness of the nursing research is on a good level, nearly half of the nurses monitor and apply the information and the research results in their clinical practice as well as most nurses are ready to implement either a simple research survey or to participate in the research under a guidance or to prepare and implement an independent research project. We believe that the nurses should be interested in the nursing research, but not as a part of their normal duties which they have in their workplace. For a development in the nursing field it is necessary to increase a further awareness of the nursing research and to encourage the nurses so that they should be interested to conduct this research. Results of the survey will be sent to the primary nurses/directors of the nursing in all of the addressed medical facilities. They may also serve as a basis for further research investigations. The lecture on the topic: ?The importance of the nursing research in the nurse´s work? will serve to raise the awareness of the nursing research.

Inhabitants´ Opinions to the Health Service Problems in the Czech Republic The diploma thesis {\clqq}Inhabitants´ Opinions to the Health Service Problems in the Czech Republic`` deals with the problems of the Czech health service. The theoretic part treats of the definitions of the main terms, legislative framework, state health service policy, public health insurance, public finances reform and first of all treats of the new Act on Public Budget Stabilization n. 261/2007 Law Code, effective from January 1st, 2008. Recently there have been discussed the Czech health service problems within the context of publication of the health service reform. The implementation of the regulation fees evokes the atmosphere of disagreement and fear from financial non-capacity in the inhabitants resulting from the fees implementation on particular items of health care. It is necessary to realize that there have been health service problems all the time. But this situation doesn´t apply to the Czech Republic solely. Quite a number of states have to solve the problems and shortcomings of the health service system. To point out these problems, to find out the cause but first of all to find the ways to deal and eliminate problems should be the main objective of the state. The Czech health service needs badly the alternation. It has to tackle the 21st century challenges and at the same time to continue in european tradition which is based on the availibility of health care for all our inhabitants. There are no doubts that population ageing, new medical procedures, services quality requirements and the possibility of co-determination will lead to the significant changes of financing and organization of the health service all over the world. (18) The aim of the diploma thesis is to survey the ideas applying to the health service problems in the Czech Republic by the inhabitants over 18 years old living in Nachod region. In the framework of quantitative research there were used the questioning method (questionnaire) and the method of document analysis (the technique of secondary data analysis). The thesis "Discrimination of older persons in their access to employment"focuses on the discrimination problem of persons over 50 years of age when they look for a job. The discrimination is one of the factors that prevent older persons from entering the labor market, which affects not only those persons but the whole society as well. At first, the thesis determines the theoretical concepts, which it comes from. Those concepts go through the whole thesis. Further on, it outlines a brief survey of national and European legal norms that deal with the given problem. It also introduces institutions that manage the problem and that we can contact in case of encounter with discrimination. In the next part, the thesis focuses on the negative aspects of discrimination and on the occurrence frequency of discrimination itself in the Czech Republic, particularly in the job advertisements and during job interviews. The practical part of the thesis concentrates on the discrimination of person over 50 in the district of Teplice, both from the point of view of the unemployed persons and the employees of the Labor Office. The final part identifies main fields of problems, which it propose possible solutions for.

My diploma work follows up Czech Republic inhabitants' attitudes toward the death penalty. It also describes changes in death penalty perception in terms of historical aspect, its presentation to public society, changes in approach to death penalty and violence in general over time. It deals with execution types development, executioner's social position and craft. It brings elementary thoughts of advocates and opponents of the death penalty and describes related contemporary situation in the world. All these chapters are included for broader context description to allow me better use and identify results from the survey. The other part of my diploma work is survey with focus on attitudes toward the death penalty in Czech Republic. It was conducted in 2012-13, based on online respondent panel, with use of quantitative methods. This market research survey was executed on Millward Brown Czech Republic online panel with sample of 821 respondents. Results basically deliver knowledge of relation between attitudes toward the death penalty and sociodemographics, main arguments for and against the death penalty, clarifies the relation between attitudes toward the death penalty and some factors such as experience with crime or death penalty basic facts knowledge. In reference to Hans-Herbert Kögler's critical-hermeneutical approach, presented paper identifies the act of interpretation as an underlying assumption for realization of intercultural dialogue. The paper is divided in two parts. First part is a discussion of key concepts such as dialogue, identity, communication and recognition. It can also be read as an attempt to capture the development of the idea of intercultural dialogue in a historical perspective. The interulturality is defined here as an ethos. Second part presents particular hermeneutically oriented conceptions of intercultural dialogue, namely the conceptions of Raimon Panikkar, Ram Adhar Mall, Vincent Shen, Franz Martin Wimmer and Hans-Herbert Kögler. The recent shift in methodology of intercultural dialogue is characterized by merger of the paradigms of communication and recognition and is identified in Hans-Herbert Kögler's integrative approach.

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of motivation to volunteer in developing countries. The aim of the diploma thesis was to analyze the concept of volunteering in developing countries, with regard to the motivation of people who choose to volunteer in a developing country. The theoretical part characterizes the main concepts and topics such as volunteering, including its legislative definition, developing countries, motivation to volunteer. The practical part describes the research, which aimed to analyze the motivation of volunteers working in developing countries. The research sample consisted of 75 volunteers who were given a questionnaire of Author's own design. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with two other volunteers. Volunteers were found to be motivated to help, as well as motivation associated with personal gain. The motivation of volunteers was formed due to the experience with the effectiveness of aid in volunteering. Weaknesses were identified, in particular regarding the preparation of volunteers before leaving for a developing country. Part of the work is a recommendation for sending organizations, as well as for the volunteers themselves.
