Lansade, Godefroy. "La vision des inclus : ethnographie d'un dispositif d'inclusion scolaire à destination d'adolescents et jeunes adultes désignés handicapés mentaux." Paris, EHESS, 2016. https://tel.archives-ouvertes.fr/tel-01408175v2.
Based on a 3-year long ethnographic investigation as well as an extensive teaching career, this study attempts to both give an account and question the schooling of “mentally disabled” teenagers and young adults aged 16 to 20 in vocational secondary schools. From their own perspectives - and having adopted a low-standard approach, I strived to understand the way they experience their inclusion in the ULIS scheme (Localized Units for Inclusion). With particular attention to the configuration of their inclusive education, i could account for and put into question the socio-educational impacts of a public policy for inclusive education “in the making” of which they are the center. From the corpus and my analysis of the connection these teenagers and young adults have with the educational system whether they fit in or oppose it, their projects, their choices and the way they interact with others and see themselves, I demonstrate that they wonder about their high school life and question what is generally said about them and how they are perceived. This research shows that these students do have a clear vision of their experience and understand the paradoxes at the core of the ULIS scheme. I also focus on the objective social and institutional constraints weighing heavily on their school trajectories. A better understanding doesn’t necessarily imply a better action. Still, it is essential to listen to these socially invisible youngsters so as to empower them as people able to express their difficulties and make their own choices
Electronic Thesis or Diss., Reims, 2024. http://www.theses.fr/2024REIML002.
This thesis analyzes tensions between the dynamics of segmentation and normalization of social management modalities of abnormality, both in institutions, devices, and practices in the professional world of integrating young workers with disabilities. The aim is to highlight the difficulties and tensions in the social and professional integration work of young workers with disabilities and the significant impact of inclusion policies. The research seeks to understand, from the professionals' perspective, their challenges by exploring the diversity of social institutions, devices, practices, and placing them in spatial, temporal, and symbolic contexts (Abbott, 2016).The methodology is based on 40 semi-structured interviews with 37 integration professionals and 3 young workers with disabilities. These interviews allowed for the analysis of support practices and representations, as well as understanding the interactions between professionals from various institutions working together or not.The results highlight administrative difficulties in the transition between protected and ordinary environments related to the variety of establishments and institutions. The representations of disability and support practices of professionals, the construction, and maintenance of professional networks play a central role in the practices of professionals in this specific professional world. Questions of professional transition, collaboration between institutions, and skills enhancement are at the heart of professionals' concerns. Professional practices are in tension between technical adaptation and institutional tinkering, requiring complex support work involving awareness, mediation, and negotiation
Dufour, Joëlle, and Joëlle Dufour.

Rouen, 2008. http://www.theses.fr/2008ROUEL622.
Via a clinical approach, this thesis explores the adolescent life of young intellectualy disabled persons accomodated in IMPro or in UPI and the tools that allow to better understand this population. The analysis of the results shows that the young express their adolescence-linked desires but the resources and means at their disposal to cross this stage of life, are limited. Different factors can explain this situation in particular the social and educative environment with differences among UPI and IMPro. The adolescents show as well that they can actively influence their future development, as persons that cannot be reduced to the exclusive influence of external factors. The methodological reflections on their part have allowed to underline the importance and the interest of asking the young intellectually deficient about their life, but they also allow to place in front the difficulty to understand them through the instruments of research and classic clinical tools

Context: The inclusive society we live in promotes familial and extra-familial relationships. The purpose of this research was to understand how adults with intellectual disability live with their families as well as with extra-familial circles. Using an interdisciplinary approach including clinical psychology along with sociology and philosophy, two factors have been tested: the sibling bonds’ quality and the learning environment. Method: 23 adults aging from 20 to 35 years old, each of them member of a sibling and with intellectual disability, were divided into 2 homogeneous groups according to their schooling (ordinary school or sheltered school). Each of them were met 3 times: 1/ a semi-directive interview enabled us to analyse conscious and preconscious representations about sibling bonds and extra familial links; 2/ the Family Apperception Test (by Sotile and al, 1988), a systemic and projective tool, helped us to analyse more unconscious representations; 3/ a sociogram gave information about adult’s network structure. Results: Sibling bonds and school environment influence the extra-familial links building process. Nonetheless, several other variables can interact like the experience and the subject’s actual position relative to its relationships or the subject personal perception of its disabilities. Discussion: By facilitating people with intellectual disability participation in researches, we would have a better understanding of the intrapsychic and intersubjective process along with their effects on the self-image building process as an adult
Muniglia, Virginie. "Devenir adulte quand le soutien familial fait défaut : sociologie d'une jeunesse vulnérable." Paris, EHESS, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015EHES0027.
This thesis focuses on the lived experiences of young people who cannot rely on family support before their integration trajectory having been stabilized. Doing so, it raises two main issues. First, it analyzes the way individuals cope with the trial of transitions to adulthood, considered here as a crucial biographical phase crystallizing both the necessity to find a place in the society and the requirement of self-fulfillment typical for the contemporary individual. Second, it explores strategies and identity issues at stake settled in the interaction with the intervention logics of public solidarity which, regarding young people, are built less on a social rights basis than on contract-based assistance mechanisms in a logic of activation. By proposing a typological analysis of the youth lived experiences, this research considers the heterogeneousness of the social ties young people can rely on for protection and recognition, as well as the compensation mechanisms that can take place when one of the ties is weakened. Moreover, it reveals that the way social difficulties are dealt with leads to the partitioning of youth vulnerability into several paths. Those who are able to meet the requirements of the activation logic can also benefit from the most protective measures. The others, deprived from the needed resources and supports, and refusing the discredit of the perspectives they are faced with, are relegated to the realm of under-assistance. Apathy, aggressiveness or withdrawal, appear then, for those young people, as the only way to maintain their agency
Batty, Maxime. "L'insertion socioprofessionnelle des adultes seniors handicapés dans le milieu ordinaire de travail à La Réunion : état des lieux et perspectives." Thesis, La Réunion, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012LARE0036/document.
At Reunion Island, many job-seekers disabled of more than 50 years old, are victims of prolonged unemployment and sink into the precariousness. This little enviable status which imposes them an economic environment ruined by the crisis and the very selective depiction, predispose them to the marginalization. The existence of physical obstacles, socioeconomic, discriminatory and pejorative representations are particularly harmful, discriminate the occupational integration of this senior public. Deprived of work which is a fundamental element of the identical structuring but also a means unanimously recognized of integration in the social life, he meets in posture of failure, undergoes important psychological disturbances. The depression and the identity crisis which result from the arisen of the handicap amplified by the effects of the prolonged unemployment, cause the emergence of the phenomenon of disintegration. Deeply affected, the individual weakens and does not recognize any more in a society which stigmatizes him and pushes him to the exclusion. Go out of this infernal spiral often causes collateral damage according to accounts given by those who were able to overcome it
Langard, Alexandre. "Public vulnérable : mise en œuvre d’un dispositif d’accompagnement socioprofessionnel intensif." Thesis, Université de Lorraine, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019LORR0102.
This thesis written by Alexandre LANGARD, occupational psychologist, under the direction of Professor Martine Batt (Interpsy EA 4432), is part of an action research project, responding to a government policy implemented following the poverty reduction plan signed in 2013.This study consisted in implementing a support system for unemployed without training « vulnerable » people, aged 18 to 25, in a precarious situation, who could benefit from more appropriate care. Through innovative and intensive support, this action amounts to enabling the entire identified population to participate in an integration process, thus promoting access to a professional situation and allowing the removal of barriers to employment. The aim of this action research is therefore twofold. On the one hand the objective is to implement an integration system responding to a government request, in order to finally propose solutions that correspond the professional and social issues faced by the target audience. On the other hand, the analysis and evaluation of the individual levers has to be taken into consideration to ensure the success of the proposed support. The approach combined methods of census, information gathering, evaluation and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. The evaluation of this support system was carried out over a three-year period, on the basis of the essential individual variables considered as levers in an integration process: self-esteem level, sense of personal effectiveness, vocational decision, motivation, external obstacles and disinvestment from work. Individual interviews made it possible to draw up a qualitative review of the support provided. The discursive data collected during the interviews were analysed using traditional methods of thematic analysis of language content. The result shows the impact of the system on positive personal feelings, access to employment-training and the importance of the role of the counsellor. The action research is an SHS project, with psychological and psychosocial dimension, which has made possible to evaluate and to promote actions helping vulnerable people

The situation of the mentally challenged people inside the social space is a multiple-themes issue. This vast subject allows us to question the origin of every social organization. The text offers a study starting from the observation of a ritual which function is to prepare someone getting into adulthood. The participation of members from an organization specialized in the activities of a group called "Inter-unit of young adults" is the first step of an initiatory period which eventually leads to another stage of life. This study observes the ways of acquiring this new "adult" status and questions its contents. It tends to show that the development of a ritualized space, based on a principle of age, which is being of age, changes the organization of the institutional taking charge, making easier transmission, elaboration and adherence to the common values of the members of the institution. The ritual puts in a symbolical light the initiate in a social space giving him access to a process helping him towards autonomy. It conforms to the requirements of the initiation, as it is defined by ethnology, taking the initiate away from the childhood world. But the initiation stays "ambiguous" because its organization is restricted to the inside of the institution, therefore sending an individual back to the status of a mentally-handicapped person

From the middle of the years 1970, the question of exclusion will challenge the political leaders in load for control for the businesses for the country. This study socio political relating to the period 1981-2002, has the aim of showing, through an analysis compared between two categories of public - handicapped people and - young people of the districts, how the Ministry for Youth and the Sports takes part in the policies of insertion by mobilizing the sport object and its supposed virtues. The first part of work is devoted to a theoretical analysis of the public policies, like with that of the principal concepts characterizing the new social policies. It presents then the problems of the research project and the methodological device used. The second part analyzes the conditions of definition and implementation of the policy of insertion by the sport engaged by the MJS at the national level. From an empirical work, the results show a hierarchisation of public, the reference to various explanatory frameworks of the process of exclusion. They also reveal a competition between the sectors "sport" and "youth" of this administration. .

The identity disruption which occurs in the teenage years represents an inescapable stage in the development process of an individual. According to Erik H. Erikson's words, it is a "necessary turning point" even a "crisis". And yet, in that transformation period, adolescents with a handicap are particularly sensitive to often negative social representations and to stigmatising processes in Erving Goffman's sense of the word which may give way to "negative identity" phenomena or self-depreciation. The implementation of a life plan, including dealing with professional prospects, is suggested as a means to build up a personal identity. This thesis examines the content and conditions of it. In a definite temporality and a supportive environment, building a life plan both means building up one's identity, giving one's life a meaning and being able to make the most of it
