Abstract This article reasons that the Jaipur Literature Festival between 2008 and 2011 attempted to institute via polemics, judgment, and celebration the category of the Pakistani novel in India by importing an alterity industry. By failing to contextualize alterity in a South Asian context, the festival reinforced a national, linguistic, and religious division between India and Pakistan. It produced a category like “Moonlight’s Children” as an “other” to an imagined Indian literature that is confused with a post–Salman Rushdie postcolonial and global anglophone canon. However, this analysis of the discourse produced at the festival by the discussants and the audience shows that a coconstituted South Asian literary history was consistently placed against a regionally competitive model. Importing alterity to produce an Indian or Pakistani literary identity was undermined by an attitude of disavowal toward the literary object and received categories like the global anglophone, postcolonial literature, and world literature. The author argues that this is not postcolonial resistance; rather, it is a trepidation to arrive at a conclusion, because to conclude is also to value, evaluate, and declare the existence of the “other” phantasmagoric literary identity and history.

Advances in pediatric nephrology have resulted in increased survival rates of children with renal disorders. Renal disease is characterized by multiple organ involvement, including soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Data regarding the oral health status of Indian children with renal disorders is scarce. Thus, the aim of this study was to assess the oral health status of children with renal disorders in Jaipur city, India. Thirty six children in the age-group of 4-14 years, diagnosed with renal disorders were selected. Data pertaining to demographics, medication history, body mass index and blood investigations were obtained from the hospital records. The World Health Organization (WHO) criteria were used to diagnose dental caries. Enamel defects were recorded according to Developmental Defects of Enamel index. Oral hygiene status, salivary pH and buffering capacity were also assessed. The mean blood hemoglobin value was 9.75gm/dl, blood urea nitrogen 43.06 gm/dl and serum creatinine 1.5 mg/dl. Enamel defects were seen in 58.3% of children. Their mean deft and DMFT scores were 1.5 and 0.5, respectively. The mean Oral Hygiene Index-Simplified (OHI-S) score was 1.56. Gingival overgrowth was not present. Mean salivary pH was 6.92 and buffering capacity of stimulated saliva was 9.86. It is necessary for pediatric dentists to follow preventive oral health regimens that are tailored to these patients.

Amar Singh at twenty began writing on a daily basis. His diary extends over 44 years, from 1898 to 1942. Its last entry is dated 1 November 1942. He died that night. These days, the 89 quarto-size bound volumes averaging 800 manuscript pages can be found at Kanota Fort, ten miles east of Jaipur off the Agra road, where Mohan Singh, his nephew and heir, keeps them in glass-fronted Victorian cabinets in one of the several rooms Amar Singh called his library. In the essay that follows1 I try to show why and how Amar Singh, a diarist writing reflexively about himself, constructed a ‘self as other’ethnography of turn-of-the-century princely and British India. Through the medium of his diary he becomes a participant, an observer, an informant, a narrator, and an author. I set the stage for Amar Singhʼns self-as-other ethnography by examining the separation and alienation in anthropological discourse of self and other. Common to ethnography since Malinowskiʼns invented participant-observer field work, the separation was questioned, then challenged by postcolonial Indian and by postmodern Western anthropologists. I then show how Amar Singh, a self-conscious and critical ‘native’ self, constitutes the other in constituting himself. It is a story about how a native came to represent, speak for, and know himself.

Background: Brachial plexus injury (BPI) has prevalence of between 0.5 and 4.4/1000 live births. It is commonly believed to be attributed to extensive lateral traction during difficult neck delivery. This paper aims to look at one aspect of birth injuries, Erb-Duchenne palsy, its incidence and contributing factors. Methods: All infants sustaining Erb-Duchenne palsy during birth were identified at Department of OBGY, NIMS Hospital, Jaipur. The notes of the infants and mothers were reviewed. Special attention was given to the known risk factors for birth trauma such as ethnicity, parity, antenatal care, history of diabetes etc. Results: During the two-year period 2013 to 2015, there were 6 infants diagnosed with Erb-Duchenne palsy, giving an incidence of 0.79 in 1000 live births. Out of six, four were primigravidae. All pregnancies were singleton, cephalic/vertex undergoing vaginal deliveries; none required forceps or ventouse deliveries. The mean infant birthweight was 4.378 kg with a median value of 4.48 kg (range 3.51-4.78). Four infants were classified as macrosomic i.e. birthweights greater than 4 kg, four infants had birthweights of 4 kg to 5 kg; none weighed over 5 kg. Three of the deliveries were documented as difficult shoulder delivery/shoulder dystocia. Five of the infants had APGAR scores that were less than seven. Conclusions: This study suggested that Erb-Duchenne palsy is strongly associated with fetal macrosomia and shoulder dystocia. Diabetes was not significant in causing macrosomia as only single mother was found diabetic. Fetal macrosomia contributed to shoulder dystocia in the majority of cases.

CKD was defined as estimated GFR <60 ml/min per 1.73 m2 and/or albumin to creatinine ratio ≥30 mg/g. NAFLD was diagnosed using ultrasonography. The association between NAFLD and CKD was analyzed using SPSS (version 24.0).Results: On ultrasonography 133 (67.5%) T2DM subjects had NAFLD. Diabetic with NAFLD (133, 67.51%) had significantly more history of hypertension (p 0.006), higher systolic (p 0.03) and diastolic BP (p 0.009), higher BMI (p <0.001), waist circumference (p <0.001), fasting glucose (p 0.03), triglyceride (p<0.001) and higher urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (p <0.001). Diabetics with CKD (61, 30.96%), were older (p 0.03), hypertensive (p <0.001) and had higher fasting glucose (p 0.003). Subjects with CKD had a higher prevalence of underlying NAFLD (78.69% vs 62.5%, p 0.03) as compared with diabetics with no CKD. T2DM subjects with NAFLD had more than two times (OR 2.88 (1.1-6.78), p 0.03) the risk of developing CKD after multivariate analysis as compared to subjects without NAFLD.Conclusions: NAFLD is a risk factor for development of CKD in patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Screening and early preventive measures may go long way in reducing morbidity.

Abstract Background Chronic SDH (CSDH) is one of the most common clinical entities in neurosurgery with most favorable prognosis commonly encountered in elderly patients with history of minor trauma and surgery is gold standard treatment. Objectives This study was done to evaluate the clinical presentation, radiologic findings, complications, and management of patients with CSDH who were treated surgically with burr-hole evacuation. Materials and Methods This prospective study was done in Department of Neuro-surgery, SMS Medical College, Jaipur, India, from September 2015 to April 2016. The sample size was 55. Results In this study out of 55 patients, 39 (71%) patients were male and 16 (29%) were female. The most common age group in which CSDH observed was between 61 and 70 years. Most common presenting symptom was headache present in 30 (54.55%) patients followed by weakness. Midline shift more than 5 mm was seen in 43 (78%) patients. The most common complication was recurrence of CSDH (5.4%) in our study. Recurrence after single burr hole was 16.6% and 4.1% after double burr holes. Simple pneumocephalus was present in almost all cases and tension pneumocephalus was found in one (1.8%) patient. Conclusion Complete evacuation of unilateral CSDH by two burr holes at highest point of hematoma is sufficient. Factors affecting recurrence rate include old age, gross midline shift, and single burr hole. Postoperative simple pneumocephalus is a common radiologic finding that requires no treatment and it does not affect ultimate outcome. Tension pneumocephalus is a serious complication requiring emergent treatment.

Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is another pandemic of 21 century, and its control is of immense importance. Researchers developed many predictor models using soft computing techniques. The present study developed a prediction model for Type 2 DM using machine learning classifiers. The analysis excludes plasma glucose concentration and insulin concentration as predictors to explore relationships with other predictors. Background: Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled 108 participants aged 25 to 67 years from SMS Medical College, Jaipur (Rajasthan, India), after approval from the ethics committee. The study developed a prediction model using machine learning techniques. The classifiers used in the application include decision trees, support vector machines, K-nearest neighbors, and ensemble learning classifiers. A total of 25 predictors were collected and underwent feature reduction. The response levels include diabetes mellitus, prediabetes, and no diabetes mellitus. The models were run using three predictors and a response variable. The prediction model with the best accuracy and area under the receiver operator characteristic curve was selected. Results: The features that vary among the three groups include age, WHR, biceps skinfold thickness, total lipids, phospholipids, triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL, VLDL, and serum creatinine, and family history of DM. After feature reduction, the age, biceps skinfold thickness, and serum creatinine were run on the Classification learner application to predict the diabetic category. The best model was subspace discriminant with accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and AUC under the ROC curve was 62.4%, 74%, 94%, and 0.70, respectively. Conclusion: The present study concludes that age, biceps skinfold thickness, and serum creatinine combination have higher specificity in predicting type 2 DM. The study emphasized the selection of appropriate predictors along with newer machine learning algorithms.

During the second wave of Covid 19[SARS- Co V-] pandemic, there is a sudden increase in number of mucormycosis infection cases in India. The present study is an attempt to understand the presentation, course and outcome of rhinoorbital mucormycosis in a group of patients who reported to Ophtalmology and Otorhinolaryngology department of our Govt. District Hospital (secondary referral centre) for enhancing measures for prevention and management. Patients who reported to our Government district hospital with signs or symptoms suggestive of rhino orbital mucormycosis during May-June 2021 were included in the study with consent of ethical committee, patients and patient’s relatives. Total 17 cases were reported and followed. Clinical examination was done for all the patients. History of the presenting complaints and underlying illness with COVID -19 was elicited. Underlying comorbid status was recorded. Patients were followed as all of them were referred to higher centre for further management as per the guidelines issued by directorate medical and health services, rajasthan, Jaipur.13(76.4%) patients were from rural and 4 (23.5%) were from urban area. 11(64.7%) patients had RT-PCR +ve, 6 had RT-PCR _ve, 2 did not have RT-PCR report. 15(88.7%) patients had high blood sugar at presentation mean being 315.7mg%. 9 (52.9%) developed mucormycosis during their treatment for COVID in hospital. 8(47.05%) presented in OPD. 9 patients had treatment with inhalational Owhile 8 patients did not have treatment with O Death rate was high (70.5%) among our patients. Patients who survived (29.4%) had only initial symptoms and signs at presentation therefore could be managed earlier. None of our patient had vaccination for COVID. Our study was done at secondary referral centre, all the previous studies were done at tertiary referral centres; therefore it shows the course of disease mainly among rural population ; most of them presented very late and had poor outcomes. It shows the need of more awareness about COVID and mucormycosis among people especially in rural areas. High blood sugar either due to treatment with steroids or pre existing is a major risk factor for Rhino orbital mucormycosis. Being RT- PCR negative for COVID 19 does not rule out the associated possible complication of Rhino orbital mucormycosis. Early diagnosis and management remains the key factor for managing Rhino orbital mucormycosis.

Abstract The huṇḍī or Indic mercantile instrument integrated networks of merchants and bankers across Persianate bazaars from South Asia to Central Asia, Iran and East Africa. Merchants performed long-distance financial transactions by means of this instrument, catering to both private individuals and the state. While much has been written about the commercial use of huṇḍīs, this paper turns to the working of huṇḍīs at the interface of mercantile and state institutions, looking in particular at the Jaipur state’s collection of nirakh huṇḍāwan registers—which tracked the rate of discounting of huṇḍīs on a daily basis. Produced at the mercantile centre of Sanganer, and open to inspection by the Jaipur state, these registers lie at the intersection of commerce and governance, and of corporation and state. They reveal an ‘economically curious’ state, which accessed and used data collected and maintained by mercantile entities to make significant economic decisions.

AbstractAs a means to resolve the Tribal Question in India, the centrality of the Fifth and Sixth Schedules of the Indian Constitution is widely acknowledged. However, their final incorporation, despite intense nationalist opposition in the run-up to Indian Independence, remains historically unexplained. This article addresses this lacuna by reconstructing the circumstances under which the Indian National Congress came to accept scheduling as a viable method of providing protection to tribal communities. This strategic shift can be explained as a result of combined political pressures generated by communist-led tribal movements and a steadily mounting challenge heralded by a new stream of educated middle-class tribal activists in eastern India. Foremost among the latter was Jaipal Singh Munda who mobilized a large constituency of supporters demanding a separate province of Jharkhand. Taken together, there is enough evidence to prove that in the period 1937–1950, the tribes were not silent and their collective agency had a deep impact on the constitution-making process. Finally, the article argues that this period witnessed a significant change in the character of the Congress as erstwhile freedom-fighters turned into ruling elites.

Abstract: Critical regionalism has emerged as an attack on the universal and homogeneous image of utopian modernity in architecture. Critical regionalist theory is used to address the literal imitation of folk style and the importance of a universal architectural environment. Critical regionalism is an architectural concept that aims to remedy sterile and abstract modernism by focusing on local needs, native wants, and potential using contextual influences. Critical regionalism provides resistance to the homogenizing pressures of global modernism as economic processes disrupt and supplant local construction traditions in India's metropolitan centers. This study examines important architectural importance in Jaipur from history to the present day that incorporates critical regionalism ideas into their designs. The many strategies used by regionalist architects to deal with local climate, topography, materials, and socialism complexes are discussed. By focusing on urban regionalist works, the paper aims to emphasis that important regionalism is more than a collection of aesthetic preferences; it is a conceptual framework capable of producing varied types of architecture despite identical external forces coming from similar site conditions. (bahga, 1 May 2019). This post attempts to understand the main theory of critical regionalism as an approach to post-independence Indian architectural practices. The city of Jaipur, Rajasthan takes advantage of these qualities for research. The current discussion of critical regionalism is a case study of two institutional buildings in Jaipur, 20 years apart, with a critical regionalism of from a theoretical approach to a practical approach in two very different approaches. Analysing the translation. Supported by research. These studies will help determine how to translate and approach critical regionalism in more recent Indian architecture.

Detailed demographic parameters including a careful evaluation for pesticide exposure, haematological profile, serum organochlorine levels and response to oral Cyclosporine-A (Cyc-A) were recorded as per a preset Performa. Patients were followed for a minimum of 12 months. Patients receiving stem cell transplantation (SCT) and anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) were excluded from the study. Serum quantitative and qualitative estimation of organochlorine pesticide levels by gas chromatography were done in all patients at study entry and compared with age and sex matched normal control. Observations & Results: Of the 19 patients included in the study, 15 (78%) were males and the mean age was 23 years (range 7 to 64 years) in the study. Thirteen of the 19 patients (68.4%) were from rural versus urban habitat and 9/19 (47.4%) gave a history of pesticide exposure. All these were from rural background. Six patients (31.6%) had non-severe AA, 9/19 (47.4%) had severe AA and 4/19 (21%) had very severe AA. Overall response to Cyc-A at 3 months was 47.4% [complete response (CR) 10.6%] and at 6 months was 47.4% (CR 21.1%). Non-severe AA patients had a response rate of 83.3% versus 33.3% in the severe AA and 25% in the very severe AA group. Cyc-A was generally well tolerated with mild toxicity. No patient was taken off the drug because of toxicity. No patient required serum Cyc-A level monitoring. Serum organocholorine levels were significantly higher (p<0.005) in the AA patients (mean 0.35 ppm) versus controls (0.22 ppm). Mean serum organoclorine levels appear to correlate with the severity of AA. Patients with higher serum organochlorine levels were less likely to respond to Cyc-A therapy. Conclusions:Even though this is a relatively small, single-institution study, the following conclusions can be drawn: Single agent Cyc-A can produce a response in close to half of AA patients within 3 months of starting treatment. Considering the ease of administration and the low toxicity, Cyc-A could be considered as initial therapy in all patients of AA in a resource-limited setting (as compared to ATG and SCT). Pesticide exposure may play a role in the aetiopathogenesis of AA, particularly in patients with occupational exposure to the agent. Pesticide exposure and elevated serum pesticide levels may identify patients of AA who will not respond to immunotherapy (Cyc-A).

Color is of great importance in our India, without color, there is no basis for any object, person, color really tells us the nature of each other. The color or color refers to the color of the substance, red, yellow, blue. Depending on the combination of these, several distinctions of varna can be made. India is a religious country with different beliefs. Manuscripts have a special relationship with religion. Manuscripts are the best means of salvation for our teachers. One of them is the illustrated Jain manuscript Adipuran. The manuscript, which has been composed by Acharya Pushpadanta, depicts the life history of Lord Rishabhdev (the first Tirthankara) through paintings. The presented manuscript is stored in the scripture store of Terapanthiyan, the Digambar Jain big temple of Jaipur. Its clerical 1597 (AD 1540) is Falgun Shukla 13. Its writing work was done by a Brahmin man named Vishnudas and the paintings are made by Harinath Kayastha and his family. This 687-page manuscript has 541 colored illustrations corresponding to the biography of Tirthankara Rishabhdev. Mainly in the picture, the mineral color (made from a mixture of vegetable juices, ie the color made from the bark of clay stone trees, etc.) is the most used. Mainly ocher (red) Hironji (green) Ramaraj (yellow) ink (black) color is mainly used. The four colors used in the manuscript are symbols of Jainism, such as the red color (ocher) represents our inner vision, that is, the Siddha Parmeshti used in Jainism. Those who have attained salvation. Yellow color activates our mind. Green color gives peace. It helps in self-realization. Blue color is absorbent and does not allow the outside effect to go inside. Black color was used for writing in manuscripts. The ink for writing work was made with three methods.

Through the framework of “friendship” defined by Judith Butler, Leela Gandhi, and Vanessa Smith, this essay tracks the relationship between Trailokya Nath Chakrabarty, a Bengali revolutionary terrorist who spent three decades in British jails in colonial India and Francis Lowman, a police officer who was responsible for his imprisonment. Informed by Chakrabarty’s autobiography, the essay shows that terrorism and intimacy were closely linked. Even though the revolutionary terrorist and jailor opposed one another in violent ways, these relationships were grounded in mutual recognition and built on what (following Butler) is called the “fundamental sociality of colonialism.”

Five textile specialists from various backgrounds came together to explore shared interests in Indian fabrics, histories, and architectural patterns. Guided by Rahul Jain’s extraordinary scholarship and generosity, we visited weaving workshops producing exquisite fabric and metallic yarn in our quest to understand the naqsha system for drawloom patterning. In Cholapur and Varanasi, we studied drawlooms set up to weave velvet, lampas, and samite, and a distinguished naqshaband demonstrated the making of a naqsha that provides the design for drawloom lifts. We examined rare historic textiles in New Delhi’s National Museum, Ahmedabad’s Calico Museum of Textiles, Varanasi’s Bharat Kala Bhavan Museum, and private collections. In Jaipur, we visited the Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Nila House, Anokhi Farm, City Palace Museum, and Prince Albert Hall Museum, and in Ahmedabad, the National Institute of Design and the Kasturbhai Lalbhai Indigo Museum. At Patola House in Patan, we observed the preparation and weaving of double ikat. Our diverse perspectives resulted in a most enjoyable interdisciplinary traveling seminar. Come with us as we share our adventure in collaborative textile research. Themes of inquiry:• Understanding the naqsha harness for the Indian drawloom • Examining relations between textiles and architecture • Using symmetry analysis to recognize pattern repeats • Considering fashion in India, an evolving tradition • Learning about the revival of natural indigo in India • Observing craft traditions preserved through development and sustainability Our team: • Annin Barrett—textile artist and designer; instructor, fashion history and sustainable design • Carol Bier—curator, The Textile Museum (1984-2001); research associate (2001-2020); research scholar, Center for Islamic Studies, Graduate Theological Union • Anna Jolly—curator of textiles 1500-1800, Abegg-Stiftung, Riggisberg, Switzerland • Louise Mackie—curator emerita, Textiles & Islamic Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Royal Ontario Museum, and The Textile Museum • Barbara Setsu Pickett—associate professor emerita, Department of Art, University of Oregon

We analyzed the data of 102 confirmed patients with novel Coronavirus 2 infection (COVID-19) during the early period of nationwide lockdown announced in India after the declaration of pandemic. We analyzed epidemiological, clinical characteristics and outcome of hospitalization in 102 patients with positive results for novel corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) RNA testing which were traced on the basis of history of travel, contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, resident of hotspot areas or presence of symptoms, thus providing an accurate estimate of the proportion of asymptomatic cases in the initial population. Of 102 patients enrolled in the study, 83.3% (85/102) were asymptomatic and 16.67% (17/102) were symptomatic. Seventy-seven (75.49%) were males and 24.50% (25/102) were females. Eighteen (17.6%) patients had associated comorbidities, the most prevalent of which were diabetes mellitus 10.8% (11/102), hypertension 7.8% (8/102), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in 3.92% (4/102), chronic kidney Disease (CKD) 0.98% (1/102), coronary artery Disease (CAD) 0.98% (1/102) and cerebro-vascular disease (CVD) 0.98% (1/102). The clinical spectrum among symptomatic COVID-19 patients varied from dry cough and fever to respiratory failure and multi-organ failure. Twelve (11.76%) patients were kept in intensive care unit (ICU). Ninety-nine (97.05%) patients recovered while three (2.94%) died during hospital stay. With majority of COVID-19 cases in India being asymptomatic, changes in biochemical and inflammatory profile were small and insignificant in asymptomatic patients when compared to symptomatic patients. Elevated NLR, lymphopenia, age and presence of comorbidities were associated with increased severity and poor outcome.

INTRODUCTION - COVID-19 was primarily considered as a respiratory disease and pulmonary manifestations were the most common presentation. However, as the months passed after the declaration of covid -19 as pandemic, our knowledge regarding the symptomatology become wiser and it was found that SARS-CoV-2 infection is not limited to the respiratory system alone and other organs are also being affected. This study is aimed to characterize the non-respiratory symptomatology and the unusual manifestations of covid-19 in patients with laboratory conrmed SARS-CoV-2 infection admitted to SMS hospital Jaipur, so that Covid-19 can be diagnosed early to prevent complications arising out of misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis. METHODOLOGY- The presented study was designed at a single center as an observational study done retrospectively in around 200 patients chosen randomly, being admitted during lockdown period from March 2020 to May 2020 in our dedicated covid hospital, Jaipur, Rajasthan after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. Their clinical prole and symptomatology were noted and analyzed. RESULTS- In our study out of 200 patients recruited, obesity was the most common comorbidity (14.5%) and the most common protean manifestations were due to gastrointestinal involvement (17%). CONCLUSION- SARS-CoV-2 not only affect the respiratory tract, but can affect any system without involving respiratory system at all and it should always be kept as differential diagnosis while evaluating a patient with a short history in this covid era.

Abstract Aim This study was designed to evaluate the frequency of developing second and subsequent primary cancers among cancer survivors. Methods We have retrospectively analyzed 121 multiple primary cancer patients treated at Bhagwan Mahavir Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India from the last 20 years. The survival analysis was performed by Kaplan-Meier methodology. Results The prevalence of multiple primary malignant tumors (MPMTs) was 1.51% (121/8000), with a male to female ratio of 1:1.42. In males most of the reported MPMTs were synchronous and most common first primary cancer cases were head & neck and lung whereas, in females most of the reported MPMTs were metachronous and most common first primary cancer cases were breast and gynaecological malignancies. Family history was reported in 15 cases. Maximum 33.05% patients received combined treatment of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and 91.73% (111/121) of patients with MPMTs were effectively followed up, 35 (28.92%) patients died and 5-year survival rate of the remaining 86 patients was 68.46%. Conclusions In the present observational study the most frequent sites of MPMTs in men were head & neck and lung whereas, in women breast and gynaecological sites were common. Therefore, careful monitoring and follow up are required for these patients.

INTRODUCTION One of the most challenging and common problem faced by the plastic surgeons in polytrauma ward are Facial Soft tissue injuries, which can be completely isolated or be in combination with other injuries .The face consists of several organs and aesthetic units. The nal outcome depends on initial wound care and primary repair. So one should know the “do's and don'ts”. Disgurement following trauma, becomes a social stigma and has the gross detrimental effect on the personality and future of the victim. Therefore, such cases are most appropriately managed by Plastic Surgeons who have a thorough knowledge of applied anatomy, an aesthetic sense and meticulous atraumatic tissue handling expertise, coupled with surgical skill to repair all the composite structures simultaneously. METHOD This study is conducted in the department of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, SMS Medical College & Hospital Jaipur India from January 2019 to December 2020. 50 patients with history of facial soft tissue injuries who were admitted in the polytrauma ward are included in the study. RESULTS Seventy-ve percent of the facial injuries were repaired primarily and the remainder were reconstructed with skin grafts or local aps from adjacent tissues. We had no post-operative infection, hematoma, ischemia, or necrosis in our patients and the patients were satised after the operation. CONCLUSION The study concludes that Primary reconstruction should be the mainstay of management and the most important responsibility of the surgeon is to convert the contaminated wound to a clean one and then to perform reconstruction.
