The integrity advisers are the central actors of integrity management systems of the administrative organizational structure, whose main task is to promote the implementation of the integrity approach within state administration institutions. As a complementary part of this task, we can separate the tasks of corruption prevention and the improvement of organizational integrity, of which the latter being discussed in more detail in this research and presentation. Integrity advisers play a key role in the development of organizational culture among public administration bodies, such as bodies exercising administrative authority. Looking at the topic more closely, with regard to the activities of integrity advisers, it can be clearly established that one of the engines of their operation is the proper and deep communication, which is not only necessary within the public administration and inter-agency transactions, but it also means communication activities that can be interpreted in the relationship between the public and clients. Equally important is their training and other activities aimed at developing staff awareness, relationships, situation assessment and action practices, which, in addition to and in part within public service training, provide an opportunity to shape organizational culture. The presentation and the paper aims to show the role of integrity advisors in developing organizational culture and transparency in the administration based on recent research experience about online presence of integrity advisors and in-depth interview surveys.

The Internal Marketing concept came into existence nearly two decades ago in the academic arena. Since then different authors viewed IM from different perspective and proposed it as a comprehensive tool to achieve customer satisfaction. The basic idea was to formulate a marketing program inside the organizational boundary that compliment external marketing and enhances the chance of success. . In this paper efforts have been made to explore and evaluate the aspects of internal marketing in the context of an industrial equipment manufacturer *and its role in establishing inter-functional coordination in terms of people, process and work environment. In this regard, analysis has been conducted by using interviews and participant observation. This research came up with the conclusion that applying Internal Marketing concept could bring about significant improvements in developing inter-functional co-ordination to overcome several crucial issues that the organization is currently confronting in strengthening its inter-functional integrity and understanding.

Abstract The present study starts from the paradox of the coexistence of opportunism and trust in inter-organizational relationships to analyze how opportunism and trust develop in cooperative projects between startups. To this end, six projects were analyzed through ten semi-structured interviews in the context of a multiple case study. The data were analyzed using the content analysis technique. As the main results, the coexistence of trust and opportunism was observed, and it did not threaten the continuity of cooperative projects. An interactional dynamic of opportunistic bases emerged when it was not possible to identify the integrity-based dimension of trust. Also, opportunism was not identified in projects where the integrity-based dimension existed. The study contributes to the literature on the coexistence of trust in the context of cooperation. There are no records of empirical research on the phenomenon in cooperative projects. The results also offer practical implications about the relevance of competencies that allow the management of relationships with different levels of trust and opportunism.

This article investigates whether certain organizational arrangements in (local) public appointment processes could encourage the use of appointments as a tool of good governance rather than as a tool of patronage. Specifically, we studied the role of six organizational arrangements in 10 case studies of intra- and inter-organizational public appointment processes held in Italian local government. We found that good governance (in terms of perception of overall integrity and fairness) was found in processes of public appointments where there was independent scrutiny, and when the process involved local councillors and/or external stakeholders – that is, actors beyond those with the formal power to appoint. In these cases, making appointments was seen as a tool of good governance rather than of patronage. These organizational arrangements were more relevant than other ones such as the transparency of public advertisements, job descriptions and educational/professional requirements, and media and public awareness. The article describes the relevant literature and the research study, and discusses implications for research, policy and management. Points for practitioners In terms of policy implications, the article discusses the importance of ensuring transparency and some form of checks and balances in the power of making public appointments, as well as of promoting more awareness among citizens and society in general of the issue of public appointments. From a managerial point of view, the article suggests that public managers should consider the implications of the different organizational arrangements that can be used in public appointment processes to exploit the good governance potential of public appointments.

The paper deals with the problem of exploiting the potential of digitalization at scale by organizations in the age of information technologies and advanced analytics of data. Being at the forefront of social progress, universities inspire managers, training staff and students to reset their working, thinking and leading initiatives and embrace digital transformation of the educational environment. The study aims to research the modern thought on transformational leadership befitting universities’ distinguished title of growth engines. The methodological framework comprises modern sociological, psychological, management and complex systems science theories of leadership. The paper analyzes organizational leadership models, explains their weak and strong points, formulates the terms of realizing the leadership phenomenon in the context of digitalization, studies the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation’s experience in introducing the elements of the ‘digital university’ model. The findings support the idea that generative leadership is attainable through inter-layer and inter-cluster interaction of all educational environment members. The paper suggests a mechanism of transforming hierarchical models into generative leadership models. The theoretic and practical significance is the validation of interconditionality of digitalization and a leadership ecosystem as a variety of communications, complexity of interrelations and integrity of functioning of educational leaders.

Due to industrialization, increasing solid waste is affecting environmental integrity globally. Reverse logistics (RL) has become a significant tool to deal with environmental degradation issues, and it is being implemented in developed countries. However, RL is at the infancy stage in developing countries especially in Pakistan due to different obstacles. This study aims to identify and analyzes the interrelationship between barriers affecting RL implementation in Pakistani manufacturing industry using an integrated methodology of Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) and MICMAC approach. Results of ISM and MICMAC identified organizational, financial, and technological barriers as dependent barriers. However, lack of government policy incentives, lack of responsiveness about RL, lack of enforceable laws on product return, changing in regulations due to political changes, lack of environmental law awareness and lack of corporate social responsibility emerged out as top-ranked barriers driving other barriers that need to be addressed. An inter-relationship based structural model will be helpful for supply chain and RL professional in understanding major obstacles to RL implementation and develop a strategy to promote RL in the manufacturing industry.

From Logistics to Supply Chain Management A Necessity of Transition The objective of this article is to reveal the double aspect of supply chain management, both operational and strategic. Through this research work, we will try to make a general approach aiming at an epistemological anchoring of the concept raised, while trying to highlight its movement in order to demonstrate its foundation and its diversity of origin. We carried out at the end of our theoretical analysis, a general study on the theoretical approach of the management of the supply chain according to the criteria resulting from the characteristics of evolution of this concept, bringing a particular lighting to the latter. In relation to our subject, the contribution of our study lies in the contribution of elements aimed at redirecting the reflection around the SCM, and in highlighting the imminence of the transition from standard logistics to an integrated management of logistics, by integrating information and communication technologies, within a logic of inter-organizational cooperation, based on trust, integrity and commitment.

Global economic changes have caused employers to look for multidisciplinary and value-driven leaders who can provide a holistic development solution for business. Modern business institutions are challenged with a paradigm shift towards programs of integrity in applying student-centered holistic approaches in the acquisition and development of cross-disciplinary using reflective learning. This study explores the holistic effects and arts-based value of practices, integrated into business education for personal and professional students’ development. Methods include a long-term research (3-years) involving focus groups, interviews, questionnaires, and observations that coincided with a theoretical analysis of conventional methods applicable to business education. Results show that arts based initiatives (ABIs) foster integrated development of skills that generate a strong holistic effect of multi- and inter-disciplinary. These are combined with powerful personal development, as ascertained in 360-degree reviews. It is concluded that an individual’s transformation, achieved through ABIs, can impact on team dynamics as well as the organizational strategy and performance, and generates a ‘spill-over effect’ between individual, team, organization, and community, thus ascertaining the value of holistic approach in business education.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore how Chinese and Finnish managers in cross-cultural supply-chain relationships evaluate their business partners’ trustworthiness and distrustworthiness. Design/methodology/approach Representatives of two Finnish companies and their Chinese and Finnish suppliers were interviewed to collect qualitative data from 23 managers. Findings The Chinese managers emphasized relationship-specific, personalized trustworthiness. They highlighted personalized communication and benevolence, which manifested in respect and reciprocity, rooted in the Chinese notion of “guanxi” as personal ties. In contrast, the Finnish managers’ view of trustworthiness was more associated with depersonalized organizational attributes. They emphasized the dimension of integrity, especially promise-keeping. In addition, tentative signs of trust ambivalence, as a balance between trust- and distrust-related factors, were identified for both the Chinese and the Finns. Research limitations/implications Due to the exploratory nature of this study the validity of the findings is limited to these data and context. Future studies could explore other national contexts as well as the effects of industry, market position, and position in the supply chain. Practical implications The findings of this study bring a valuable understanding of the potential pitfalls and unique challenges in cross-border inter-firm transactions. These can enhance inter-firm trust building in a cross-cultural context. Originality/value This study enriches the view of trust as a holistic process of simultaneous evaluation of both trustworthiness and distrustworthiness. In this process, trust ambivalence could serve as the intermediate construct between trust and distrust. These two contrary yet complementary opposites constitute a duality to be managed from the perspective of yin-yang balancing.

В статье отражены основные результаты математического моделирования рациональной иерархии в организационной структуре государственного управления на примере таможенного органа, позволяющие доказательно реализовать комплекс мероприятий, связанных с переходом от иерархических структур к плоским в условиях цифровизации. Для обоснования рациональных плоских структур управления предложены методика и модель, разработанные на основе математических инструментов теории массового обслуживания. В результате моделирования доказано, что плоская организационная структура является более рациональной в сравнении с иерархической, поскольку скорость обслуживания запросов клиентов при такой структуре возрастает, прежде всего, за счет уменьшения внутренних межуровневых коммуникационных связей. Переход к плоской структуре целесообразно осуществлять на основе сформулированного и обоснованного в ходе исследования принципа целостности потенциала системы, а выбираемая стратегия перехода зависит от степени цифровой и сервисной трансформации государственных органов. The article contains the main results of mathematical modeling of a rational hierarchy in the organizational structure of public administration on the example of a customs authority, which allow us to evidently implement a set of measures related to the transition from hierarchical structures to flat ones in the conditions of digitalization. To substantiate rational flat control structures, a methodology and a model developed on the basis of mathematical tools of queuing theory are proposed. As a result of modeling, it is proved that a flat organizational structure is more rational in comparison with a hierarchical one, since the speed of servicing customer requests with such a structure increases primarily due to a decrease in internal inter-level communication links. It is advisable to make the transition to a flat structure on the basis of the principle of integrity of the system's potential formulated and justified in the course of the study, and the chosen transition strategy depends on the degree of digital and service transformation of state authority.

Introduction. The urgency of the vertically integrated structures analysis of agroindustrial production is condi-tioned by the need to ensure the food security of the state, create export potential, and ensure the enterprises competitiveness and structural modernization of production. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the content and essence of the organizational and economic mechanism for managing the integration of agricultural enterprises. Results. The promotion factors of agroindustrial complex development are determined. The directions for develop-ing domestic relations in various integration forms are provided. The geographical features of territorial development of rural space in Ukraine are considered. The decisive factors for the spatial organization of the countryside are identified. The main goals of the strategy of agroindustrial complex development are defined. The features of clusters are distinguished inherent in complex economic systems: polycentricity, that is the presence of a number of leading organizations implementing the idea of balanced management of the cluster entities development; co-directional development is the only vector of cluster entities development; adequate display of synergistic effect on the basis of increasing the integrity degree according to the emergence law. The efficiency factors of the clustering processes of the agro-industrial complex are determined: institutional, tech-nical-economic, production-economic, market conditions, economic-geographical, financial-investment, agrarian policy and scientific and technical. The circumstances of the need for in-depth development of a complex problem of improving the inter-sectoral exchange system of the region agro-industrial complex subjects have been identified. The structure of key fac-tors that determine the equivalence level of interbranch exchange in the agroindustrial complex is provided, which includes: resource support, efficiency of interbranch exchange, factors of the intraeconomic environment, structural-institutional, or-ganizational and managerial, state regulation. <p align="justify"><em>When the COVID-19 pandemic gradually subsided, digital disruption was considered a game changer for today's work, such as work from home (WFH). The prevalence of digital disruption in contemporary work has triggered the birth of a digital labor class, which broadly impacts intra- and inter-organizational communication, especially in dealing with work-related risks in an increasingly insecure labor market. In a macro context like this, digital labor within neoliberal higher education institutions became an interesting phenomenon, especially given the worsening conditions of intellectual workers and changes in academic behavior and practices. A recent study showed many practices violating academic integrity in Indonesian higher education institutions, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, improper claims of authorship, contract-cheating, and other violations of professional codes of ethics. To address these problems, the author employed a critical method of the political economy of communication and the sociology of work to analyze 'short-time logic' as an operational mechanism in flexible capitalism, commoditizing workers' time by blurring the boundaries between productive and leisure time and turning the illusion of worker autonomy into a 'sustained contestation.' The 'short time logic' of flexible capitalism deformed intellectual workers in higher education in Indonesia into digital labor because they were constantly conditioned to produce intellectual products with highly competitive metrics but lacking reflection and meaningfulness, which sharpened the gaps in competency-based inequalities and created a new hierarchy of social classes in higher education. </em><strong></strong></p>

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) serves as a critical network access solution widely employed by corporations, enabling users to connect to company computer networks via a global infrastructure. Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, heightened reliance on computer network access has increased the vulnerability to data breaches by unauthorized parties. This necessitates a proactive approach from companies to safeguard data integrity, particularly by identifying abnormal access patterns and timestamps. This study aims to develop a model for detecting anomalous activities within authentication log data obtained from VPN usage. The dataset comprises log entries from September to November 2022, totaling 36,807 records, selected via a systematic sampling approach. Two key attributes, namely user ID and access time, are analyzed to trace access patterns. Employing the CRISP-DM method ensures a structured and efficient research process. The selection of the k value in the K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) method significantly impacts outlier detection and can be tailored to suit organizational requirements. By utilizing the K-Means algorithm for data clustering and K-NN for measuring inter-point distances, the study identifies outliers that warrant further investigation by the company. Integration of the proposed model into the company's big data platform facilitates real-time monitoring, enabling the security team to preemptively address potential threats and mitigate network access misuse. By enhancing awareness and responsiveness to information security risks, the model contributes to fortifying the company's cyber security posture amidst evolving digital landscapes. Manufacturing firms have increasingly relied on inter-organizational systems (IOS) to facilitate inter-firm transactions and integration with suppliers. However, they frequently face various impediments, such as adversarial behaviours and misalignments, when trying to integrate with IOS (i.e., IOS integration or IT/IS integration). Based on the perspectives of mutual adaptation of technology and organization and socio-technical systems, this study develops two compromise constructs critical for IOS integration: inter-firm process compromise and technology compromise. These two compromise constructs, treated as neutral alignment, are proposed to affect the achievement of higher IOS integration. Based on 146 matched-pair samples, the findings demonstrate the importance of technology and inter-firm process compromises in achieving greater IOS integration, which, in turn, enables higher inter-firm dependence and operational performance. This research provides theoretical and practical implications that contribute to our understanding of the role of compromise in facilitating IOS integration. The implications should serve as an important basis for future research in examining IOS integration.

The article reveals the essence and component composition of informatics-technological competence as a structural component of the training of forestry specialists. The types of professional activity of forestry specialists are established: production-technological, organizational-management, scientific-research, design-construction. The specifics of the forestry engineer's professional activity are revealed. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, definitions of the concepts: "competence", "professional competence", "types of competence", "information", "technology", "information technology activity of a forestry engineer" "information technology competence of a forestry engineer" are given. Basic competencies are distinguished in the structure of professional competence of a forestry engineer: special, project-research, environmental, organizational-communicative, individual, informatics-technological. The specifics of the conditions for the implementation of production processes in the forestry industry are considered. Approaches to the concept of "informatics and technological competence" are revealed. The first of them characterizes the ability to use software and communication means of information processing (in this case, technology means a set of technical and hardware tools (computer equipment, communication lines, telecommunications devices, etc., which provides this process). The second approach is based on the application means of information and communication technologies in the professional activity of a specialist to solve production tasks (technology means a certain sphere of human activity). In the structure of informatics-technological competence, motivational-value, cognitive, functional-activity and reflexive components are distinguished. The motivational-value component consists of motives and value attitudes, which are characterized by personal interest in working with information sources, determine the need to study computer technologies from the point of view of their application in professional activities, and determine the motivated focus of the specialist on functioning in the conditions of the information environment. The cognitive component includes a set of such theoretical knowledge that reflects the intellectual development of the individual, such as an understanding of the unity and integrity of the scientific picture of the world, the presence of a system of methodological knowledge and categories, the ability to establish intra- and inter-subject connections regarding various scientific concepts and methods, etc. The functional-activity component, being aimed at the practical use of the acquired knowledge, reflects the active, active nature of competence and is a set of knowledge, abilities and skills necessary for independent implementation of information technology activities. The reflective component allows the individual to consider and adequately evaluate the results of the activity, showing the ability to consciously and independently implement and regulate the level of control of one's own development and personal achievements. Coordination of components with professionally important qualities of a specialist was carried out.

The article discusses the urgent problems of sustainable development of Ukraine, which are focused on economic growth, improving the well-being of the population and preserving the integrity of the State in difficult security conditions. The study substantiates the need to revise and update regional policy, taking into account the current challenges and tasks of post-war development, as well as taking into account the experience of other countries. The article underlines the importance of ensuring sustainable development in all regions as a key path to the overall sustainable development of the country. The study provides an analysis of the main factors influencing regional development, emphasizes the need to take into account the fiscal and regulatory potential of the customs system, which is especially important for regions with border checkpoints. It is found that the State regional policy acquires a new meaning in view of the need to regulate and support regional development by legislative, financial, planning, investment and infrastructure measures. The study has also revealed a significant interest in the development and improvement of the organizational component of regional development management. Thus, this calls attention to the lack of comprehensive scientific research that would meet the new challenges of today. However, the development of digital technologies and their implementation in public administration opens up new opportunities for automating regional development processes. The article outlines the main directions of the State influence on the development of regions, in particular, legislative regulation, financial support, planning and coordination of activities, investment policy, development of infrastructure, education and science, optimization of social policy, environmental measures, industrial development, information potential and international cooperation. The importance of inter-budgetary transfers and taxes as key tools for supporting regions in the context of anti-crisis management, which contributes to the stabilization and development of regions affected by the crisis, is emphasized. Thus, the article proposes an integrated approach to ensuring balanced regional development, which takes into account modern challenges and contributes to the overall economic revival of the country.

The health care of the Russian Federation and its medicine of accidents industry were undergoing systemic changes that required, inter alia, reappraisal of approaches to the work of specialist doctors in federal ministries, agencies and services in the implementation of joint activities during the elimination of medical and sanitary consequences of emergencies of various genesis. It is noted that during interpersonal communication, medical specialists often encounter various understandings and paths of special professional terms, which often leads to a decrease in the quality of organization of interaction and management. A particular feature of the use of military-medical terminology in the Disaster Medicine Service of the Russian Federation was its mixing with the terminological definitions of specialists from other federal ministries, agencies and services, which in some cases significantly complicates management communication. A scientific search has been carried out using content analysis, rank-based dispersion analysis of data, sociological and linguistic analysis to study the most used terms that characterize such concepts as wounded, sick and affected, injured, patient, medical and sanitary care, treatment and evacuation support, medical care, and terms characterizing types of care. The most significant, according to experts, terms that reflect the practical activities of medical specialists and allow them to master at the proper level the training programs for personnel of higher qualifications in the field of disaster medicine were the terms affected in an emergency, patient (3,770,82 points), as well as treatment and evacuation support (4,670,55 points) and medical support (4,21,1 points). Meaningful terminological contradictions that can lead to a violation of organizational integrity are also identified of the system of medical and evacuation support of troops (forces) and the population during the elimination of medical and sanitary consequences of emergency situations by the forces and means of the medical service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as not always reflecting the specific conditions of activity and organization of interaction of medical specialists of federal ministries, agencies and services. All this requires harmonization (bringing to a common understanding) of the relevant terminology for the application of military-medical terminology in the Disaster Medicine Service of the Russian Federation.

Enterprise Information Systems, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, have been applied to integrate business processes within a global manufacturing enterprise. Recently, the inter-organizational systems are applied to assist in business data sharing and collaboration among enterprises based on the ERP application. However, their resource requirements and failure rates are high, and many enterprises are concerned about the Business-to-Business (B2B) effectiveness. In this research, the authors study global manufacturing enterprises, which developed their B2B systems with Taiwanese government sponsorship successfully. B2B effectiveness is evaluated through operational efficiency and profitability, while the business scale, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) induced supplier numbers, and application scope are considered influencing factors. After the evidence of multiple regression models and non-parametric statistic testing, the results show that only the application scope has a significant impact on profitability. The authors discuss these results from the perspective of enterprise integration as well as the system application scope and give suggestions to global manufacturing enterprises that want to apply inter-organizational systems.

Sustainable development goals (SDGs) have become increasingly important for today’s firms as they build sustainability strategies that integrate SDGs into their core activities. Addressing these goals collaboratively, in line with SDG 17—partnerships for the goals, has gained momentum, hence the growing literature on sustainability-oriented partnerships. However, addressing SDGs through partnerships is not straightforward. For firms, contributing to SDGs through alliances and partnerships requires building environmental capabilities and embracing new value frames; in other words, going through the complex process of inter-organizational learning. This paper reviews the literature on sustainability-oriented partnerships with a focus on the inter-organizational learning process. As a result of the review, a model of inter-organizational sustainability learning is presented. This model captures the different levels and types of the inter-organizational learning process; partner and partnership characteristics that impact learning; the environmental conditions that set the conditions for learning to take place; the catalyst and inhibitors of learning; and finally outcomes of learning. This model expands and re-organizes the existing scholarly conversation about inter-organizational learning in the context of sustainability-oriented alliances and partnerships and offers a learning-based understanding of sustainability partnerships to practitioners. Based on the review, the paper proposes ideas for future research and contributes to the development of a future research agenda in the area of sustainability-oriented alliances and partnerships.

<p>Although the fields of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Relationship Exchange have both significantly developed over the last quarter century, their content and concepts have largely remained independent. This study seeks to integrate the two streams of research by proposing an antecedent role for CSR with respect to stimulating collaborative agreements between firms and suppliers. Here we investigate the relationship between CSR and relationship exchange through a mediated model, which includes three specific factors: trust, reputation and network resources. We propose that it is through these factors that CSR influences the willingness of both partners to initiate collaborative, long-term exchanges.</p>

While emergency planning to cope with chemical accidents has accelerated since Bhopal, there is evidence that the medical sector is not preparing at the same pace as the broader emergency response community. This paper presents a rationale for improving medical sector preparedness. In order to integrate the medical community more fully into emergency management planning and coordination, a common base of resources is presented. It is suggested that cooperative planning could emerge if both the broader emergency response community and specialized medical sectors had a common understanding of how one assesses community risk and the resources available to improve preparedness. A compendium of documents, legal mandates and response models is presented.

Purpose – Although research has shown differences between self-initiated experiences and expatriation, this differentiation has rarely been made when it comes to more long-term global careers. The purpose of this paper is to identify similarities and differences between repeat expatriates and international itinerants in their career paths, subjective experiences, and narratives of how they relate to their context. Design/methodology/approach – A narrative approach was used and interviews were conducted with ten repeat expatriates and ten international itinerants. The career paths of the 20 Swedish global careerists and how they narrate their careers are analyzed, and the two types of global careerists are compared. Findings – Results show that the repeat expatriates and international itinerants differ in their subjective experiences of global careers, and how they narrate them. Three broad domains are identified that integrate a range of issues that are important for global careerists. These domains are the organization and career domain, the country and culture domain, and the family, communities, and networks domain. The repeat expatriates and international itinerants differ in how they relate to these and what is important to them. Practical implications – The differences found have implications for organizations in terms of recruitment, management, and retention of a global talent pool. Originality/value – This research contributes to the understanding of subjective experiences of global careers and integrates a range of aspects in the context of global careerists that are important to them. Moreover, it contributes to the understanding of global careers by differentiating between those with intra- and inter-organizational global careers.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze simultaneously two moderator effects on a model of relationships between external human resource (HR) flexibility and innovation in a large sample of manufacturing firms. Design/methodology/approach The study sample consisted of 1,864 Spanish industrial firms in 2012 compiled from a large set of statements from the Survey of Business Strategies questionnaire. Logit and linear regressions tested the moderator effects of inter-organizational technology cooperation and environmental (market) dynamism in the relationship between external HR flexibility and innovation performance. To control for multicollinearity the Lance’s residual centering technique was used. Findings Process innovations seemed to be dependent on industry while innovative firms have developed a greater flexibility than non-innovative firms. Some moderator effects were found regarding inter-organizational cooperation while the market dynamism was negatively related to the measures of innovation with absence of moderator effects. Research limitations/implications Future studies should integrate more moderator effects that may influence the relationship between external HR flexibility and the firm’s innovation performance. The results regarding the influences of external flexibility on innovation have to be differentiated as inter-organizational technological cooperation compensated the influence of external workplace flexibility on innovation. Practical implications Managers should use a right mix of external flexibility measures according to the inter-organizational cooperation but regardless the level of environmental dynamism. Originality/value This paper is original in the sense that it studies the relationship between external HR flexibility and innovation with the simultaneous moderator effect of inter-organizational technology cooperation and market dynamism. The value of the paper lies in the discussion of interrelated moderator effects in order to propose adequate strategies to develop external HR flexibility.

Purpose Social media communications on platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn can allow managers to interact cost effectively with trading partners. However, although most firms have an online presence on multiple social media platforms, the question remains as to whether marketers’ widespread social media investments are beneficial for firms. The paper aims to discuss this issue. Design/methodology/approach This paper presents competing hypotheses to explore how firms’ investment in one form of social media impacts activity on another form of social media. To do so, the authors draw on a data set of 208 large Australian organizations using objective social media activity metrics that measure business-to-business (B2B) audience engagement. Findings The findings suggest that widespread social media activity on LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube negatively affects a firm’s marketing activity on Facebook. The results indicate that having a social media preference whereby firms focus on a specific social media platform is more effective in forming successful inter-organizational relationships than a multiplatform approach. Originality/value The study contributes to the sparse research that seeks to leverage social media for audience engagement beyond a business-to-consumer context. The study’s findings provide insights into the key mechanisms that underlie firms’ B2B social media strategies, and in so doing, offer a fresh perspective on the importance of interactive marketing communication.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyse ethical competence related to healthcare governance and management tasks at the county/regional level in Sweden. The paper also discusses conditions that support or constrain the development and application of such competence. Design/methodology/approach The study is based on original qualitative data from 13 interviews and 6 meeting observations. Three key groups of actors were included: politicians, civil servants and CEOs in publicly financed health-provider organizations. An abductive analysis was carried out by a stepwise method guided by thematic research questions. Findings The informants viewed themselves as having a high degree of ethical responsibility for healthcare practice. However, they did not integrate ethical reflection and dialogue into their work decisions (e.g. regarding budgets, reforms and care agreements). The current organization, control systems and underlying business principles, along with the individuals’ understanding of their own and others’ roles, tended to constrain the development and use of ethical competence. Practical implications Qualities of an appropriate ethical competence related to healthcare governance and management, and conditions to develop and use such competence, are suggested. Originality/value Hardly any empirical research has examined ethical competence related to healthcare governance and management tasks. The paper integrates ethics and theories on learning in organizations and contributes knowledge about ethical competence and the conditions necessary to develop and practise ethical competence in an organizational and inter-organizational context.

Information technology (IT) enables businesses to integrate information systems across entities without altering the firms’ legal boundaries. New forms of inter-firm dependence and governance mechanisms may arise, due to the explicit investments made in technology and systems for collaboration purposes. There is an important distinction between general and customized investments in inter-organizational information systems (IOS), because the specificity level in IT exhibits certain characteristics that accentuate both the risk and value of inter-firm trade. Several research calls were made to validate governance theories on IOS. Based on a literature review, this paper provides a synthesis and integration of transaction cost economics (TCE) and IOS literature regarding governance forms. The paper discusses why the specificity level of IOS plays a central role in modern collaboration between firms, and how vertical electronic coordination (VEC) represents a mechanism for electronic governance forms and presents an agenda for future research.

This paper presents an infrastructure and a mechanism for achieving dynamic Inter-enterprise workflow management using e-services provided by collaborative e-business enterprises. E-services are distributed services that can be accessed programmatically on the Internet, using SOAP messages and the HTTP protocol. In this work, we categorize e-services according to their business types. E-service requests are specified in the activities of a process model according to some standardized e-service templates and are bound to the proper service providers at run-time by using a constraint-based, dynamic binding mechanism.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the mediating effect of the identification of valuable external knowledge on the relationship between the development of inter-organizational ties (structural social capital) and the acquisition of external knowledge. Design/methodology/approach Using a sample of 87 firms from Spanish biotechnology and pharmaceutics industries, the authors have tested the proposed mediation hypothesis by applying the partial least squares technique to a structural equations model. Findings The study results show that those firms with stronger, more frequent and closer inter-relationships are able to increase the amount of intentionally acquired knowledge, partly due to the greater level of development of their knowledge identification capability. Thus, firms with a higher capability to recognize the value of the knowledge embedded in their inter-organizational networks will be more likely to design better strategies to acquire and integrate such knowledge into their current knowledge bases for either present or future use. Originality/value This research contributes to knowledge management and social capital literature by means of the study of two key determinants of knowledge acquisition – structural social capital and knowledge identification capability – and the explanation of their relationships of mutual influence. The paper thus tries to fill this literature gap and connects the relational perspective of social capital with the knowledge-based view from a strategic point of view.

AbstractGrassroots coalitions are one mechanism by which marginalized groups access the policy arena. Such alliances integrate group interests in demand making and can influence the policy process through collective action. Understanding what factors lead to formation, sustainability, and success can explain how and why alliances function as political intermediaries. This paper features one national social change organization that collaborates with local grassroots groups working on three federal policy priorities: immigration, retirement security, and economic justice. It investigates what organizational structures and processes increase the access of local organizations to policymakers through multi-organizational alliances of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations. Based on field observations and 58 interviews, the case analysis focuses on inter-organizational partnerships, intra-organizational development, and how these organizational arrangements facilitate grassroots engagement in the policy process. Factors found to impact the strength of alliances include alignment of interests and strategies; an ability to leverage heterogeneous relationships and resources; mutuality, trust, and respect in partnership; political capacity; and “bottom-up” pathways to participation for grassroots constituencies. These findings are central to understanding the structure, function, and political effectiveness of contemporary national-to-local partnerships.

AbstractCircular ecosystem is a growing research field that is gaining attention due to representing a more robust alignment structure than a single firm. However, prior research lacks empirical evidence on how circular ecosystems are structured and how orchestrators coordinate a set of actors towards a coherent circular value proposition. By studying nine organizations related to the carton packaging recycling ecosystem, we reveal the complexity of recovering and co-creating value in a systemic network with actors competing and collaborating simultaneously. Based on that, we propose a framework for orchestrating circular ecosystems. Our results indicate that orchestrators should integrate strategic actors, invest in infrastructure, and innovate in product design. We also discuss ecosystem resilience during and after the covid 19 pandemic, showing how the orchestrator was fundamental to the sustainability of the ecosystem. Overall, this paper contributes to increasing the understanding of inter-organizational relationships towards the circularity of resources.

Inter-institutional collaboration among physicians becomes increasingly important and yet, it’s unrealistic to assume that cooperation can be supported via a homogeneous system which is pre-installed in every organization. Instead physicians will typically have their own autonomous systems that support internal processes. Traditional activity-oriented workflow models or content-oriented process models do not resolve inter-institutional integration challenges. The authors present the a-Flow approach for distributed process management, which enables ad hoc collaboration via active electronic documents without the need to integrate local systems. A distributed case file, the a-Doc, is used to coordinate cooperating parties. Using this case file does not require any preinstalled system components, so true ad-hoc information interchange is enabled. The case file contains both, the inter-organizational process schema as a document, as well as arbitrary content documents that are shared among the cooperating parties. To illustrate the approach an inter-institutional use case is provided by cooperative breast-cancer treatment. The authors explain the rationale behind separating content, decision support, and coordination work and in large-scale inter-institutional scenarios its necessary to decouple collaboration functionality from the existing applications and to resolve the duality between content-oriented and activity-oriented process models.

Organizations rely on various types of information systems (IS) to manage day-to-day business and make decisions such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) systems. Organizations rely on ERP systems to replace their legacy systems, integrate core business processes and to help adding value and increasing visibility. Additionally, SCM systems help organizations to enhance relationships with supply chain members. It is essential for organizations to measure their business performance by taking into consideration intra-organizational and inter-organizational indicators. Therefore, the integration between ERP and SCM systems is a key to enable more business performance; that were otherwise hidden. Accordingly, the motive for this paper is to study the influence of ERP-SCM integration on enabling more business performance measures. For this reason, a business performance measures framework was constructed and then tested on two organizations using multi-case study qualitative research approach. Analysis results indicated that integrating ERP and SCM systems would render more performance measures and hence enable better and wider-scope evaluation. Consequently, managers are more informed and accordingly are able to make high quality decisions.

We investigate how collective identity formation processes interplay with collaboration practices in an inter-organizational partnership promoting regional innovation. We found that initial collaboration challenges are dealt with by setting up an early “swift identity” which is associated with material artifacts to increase its strength and stability (“swift identity reification”). However, as the partnership evolves, the reified identity becomes misaligned with partners’ underdeveloped collaboration practices. To ensure realignment, new attempts at reification are performed, as partners buy time for learning how to collaborate. Our findings contribute to extant identity research by proposing alternative (i.e. “swift” and “reified”) mechanisms of identity formation in contexts characterized by both heterogeneity challenges and integration imperatives. They also integrate the debate about the role of identity formation in the evolution of interorganizational partnerships. For both literatures, we highlight the important role of materiality.

This research aims to analyze the relationship between cross-organizational support and the effectiveness of empowerment programs in the Bulukumba, Bone, and Makassar regions. Using a qualitative method, the research was conducted from August to December 2022, with a focus on three pilot villages in South Sulawesi. With 15 key informants selected through purposive sampling, data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations. Data analysis involved stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification.The results of this research reveal the importance of integrating physical, human, and social capital in community empowerment. It was found that the implementation of the program faced challenges in integrating these three capitals, often due to limitations in human resources and coordination among institutions. The Indonesia Juara program, which aims to develop an integrated empowerment model, encountered difficulties in applying these principles in the field. Furthermore, this study highlights the importance of the Pentahelix concept, which involves government, academia, business, communities, and media, in community empowerment. However, it was found that Pentahelix collaboration is still not optimal in practice, especially in the context of the Indonesia Juara program. Collaborative leadership is needed to enhance the effectiveness of this program by effectively integrating various stakeholders in empowerment efforts. It is recommended to promote stronger cooperation between Ministries/Institutions and Regional Device Organizations (OPD) to ensure program effectiveness and efficiency. Collaborative leadership is required to effectively integrate various stakeholders.

This study examines the implementation of cultural heritage preservation policies in Kampung Tugu amidst industrialization that threatens its sustainability. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach; data were collected through interviews with the North Jakarta City Administration Culture Office and the Kampung Tugu community, field observations, and literature studies. Data analysis was conducted using Van Meter and Van Horn’s policy implementation theory, evaluating policy standards, resources, implementer characteristics, inter-organizational communication, implementer disposition, and the socio-economic and political environment. The findings indicate that policy implementation has not been fully effective. While the government has made efforts to develop Kampung Tugu as a Tourism Village through initiatives such as the Living Museum and Keroncong music groups, land use changes and industrialization continue to degrade the area. Key obstacles include overlapping regulations, lack of inter-agency coordination, and inconsistent government leadership. The local community plays a significant role in preservation efforts but struggles with land rights and environmental challenges. The study concludes that although legal frameworks support heritage preservation, economic interests often take precedence, hindering effective policy execution. This research provides insights for policymakers, academics, and communities on the complexities of cultural heritage preservation in the face of urban development, and it highlights the need for future studies to integrate economic perspectives to ensure the sustainability of Kampung Tugu.

Summary The human and social implications of poor health literacy are substantial and wide-ranging. Health literacy represents the personal competencies and organizational structures, resources and commitment that enable people to access, understand, appraise and use information and services in ways that promote and maintain good health. A large-scale societal improvement of health literacy will require political buy-in and a systematic approach to the development of health literacy capacity at all levels. This article builds the case for enhancing health literacy system capacity and presents a framework with eight action areas to accommodate the structural transformation needed at micro, meso and macro levels, including a health literate workforce, health literate organization, health literacy data governance, people-centred services and environments based on user engagement, health literacy leadership, health literacy investments and financial resources, health literacy-informed technology and innovation, and partnerships and inter-sectoral collaboration. Investment in the health literacy system capacity ensures an imperative and systemic effort and transformation which can be multiplied and sustained over time and is resilient towards external trends and events, rather than relying on organizational and individual behavioural change alone. Nevertheless, challenges still remain, e.g. to specify the economic benefits more in detail, develop and integrate data governance systems and go beyond healthcare to engage in health literacy system capacity within a wider societal context.

In this article, we explore the implementation and effectiveness of collaborative logistics systems (CLS) as an innovative approach to reducing environmental footprints in global supply chains. While traditional logistics often generate redundancies and inefficiencies, CLS stand out by promoting the integration of resources and the reduction of waste, enhancing positive environmental impact through coordination between multiple market players. Based on a detailed literature review and analysis of global case studies, we propose a theoretical model that identifies the main opportunities - such as improved transport efficiency and inventory optimization - and limitations, including the organizational, logistical and technological challenges that compromise the full adoption of this approach. Among the opportunities, we highlight the role of SLCs in mitigating emissions and strengthening sustainable practices that directly impact the chain's eco- efficiency. On the other hand, we analyzed the limitations inherent in the complexity of inter-organizational collaboration and technological barriers, which can limit complete integration and the sharing of essential data between companies. We contribute to the literature by identifying the key elements for the successful implementation of SLC in different contexts and sectors, addressing gaps related to the scarcity of theoretical frameworks that integrate collaborative logistics and sustainability. The article therefore not only broadens the understanding of the applicability of SLCs, but also establishes a basis for future research focused on viable and innovative solutions to promote an environmentally sustainable supply chain.

The target population of interest in this study were the 22 local pharmaceutical manufacturing and 149 importing firms that act as subsidiaries making a total of 171. The study sample was drawn from the list of 171 pharmaceutical firms, where various categories with the relevant information for the study were drawn. The study adopted a census sampling technique. The data was analyzed using SPSS 22 version by making use of multiple regressions analysis which helped to generate a weighted estimation equation (OLS) that was used to predict values for dependent variable from the values of the independent variable. Findings: The results showed that inter-organization systems significantly moderated the relationship between supply chain relationship management practices and organizational performance. Recommendations: Based on the study findings, it was recommended that management in pharmaceutical firms should integrate their systems with those of customers such as electronic inventory management, electronic customer feedback; integrate electronic sharing of market information among other IT systems. This is because the study confirmed that integration of IT systems by pharmaceutical companies would lead to improvement in terms of speed and quality services, waste elimination, increased inventory management, responsiveness, accuracy, customer feedback and reduced lead-times

PurposeThis study aims to put forward a conceptual framework to promote strategies for exploring and exploiting value co-creation with suppliers through dynamic capabilities development.Design/methodology/approachThe conceptual framework was developed by applying deductive logic to blend the theoretical perspectives of value co-creation and dynamic capabilities concerning interaction and innovation.FindingsThe suggested framework emphasized that to co-create value with suppliers, health-care organizations need to integrate innovation abilities with interactional abilities for assimilating mutual processes and resources. The study also points out the crucial role of middle managers to articulate the diverse value perspectives and act as change catalysts.Practical implicationsThis paper provides a roadmap for health-care managers to develop internal bundles of resources and integrate inter-organizational processes in the direction of co-creating value. The approach suggests the use of project pipelines and performance measures as managerial tools for aligning value co-creating initiatives with suppliers.Originality/valueThe study is a pioneering attempt to develop a conceptual framework for co-creating value with suppliers and, consequently, to provide innovative services to patients. The study aligns with previous value co-creation and dynamic capabilities works in terms of interaction and innovation development. However, based on the interrelation of these two dimensions, the study puts forth four interrelated processes (experimenting new possibilities of value creation; articulating value alignment initiatives; implementing mutual benefits; and executing and managing performance improvement) attached by mutual change mechanisms.

The effective business management in adverse economic conditions necessitates the search for ways for integrating business accounting with innovative approaches to business management of material resources, especially the logistics system. The need to integrate business accounting of material assets with the logistics system is substantiated by giving evidence of the complicating conditions for transportation of material assets in recent years, related, inter alia, with quarantine limitations. It is stressed that the requirements to logistics strategies are increasing along with growing transportation costs, diminishing deposits of natural resources, creating new product lines, setting new criteria for social, technological and environmental dimensions of business activities. It argued that when management staff overlook or ignore the potentials offered by logistics tools for management of material resources or when business accounting has no links with logistics, the impact of management on the purchase of material assets will be less effective. Theoretical foundations of the integration of business accounting and logistics strategy of transactions with material assets for the achievement of economic security of business activities are highlighted. The principal dimensions for such integration (organizational, methodological, control and protective) and their key components are discussed. Organizational and technical schemes are proposed, aimed at creating a business accounting system integrated with other management functions (planning, economic analysis, control), in order to enhance the orientation of business enterprise on the effectiveness of logistics activities and achievement of economic security. The main objectives of business accounting with respect to logistics costs are determined for the business enterprises implementing the abovementioned approach to organization of logistics management.

Recent studies focused on the importance of adopting network analysis approaches such as social network analysis in the supply chain networks to better understand and manage the roles of organizations in inter-organizational relationships. The main aim of this research is to identify and integrate network analysis metrics in the existent literature in this realm which is applicable to characterize the position and role of organizations in the supply chain network context and their impact on the behavior and outcomes of organizations and the whole supply chain network. To this aim, we followed a systematic literature review process using Scopus database to identify high-quality papers through several screening stages. Our findings illustrate that there are two main sources of interfirm differences including atomistic properties and relational properties. With an emphasis on relational properties through the lens of network analysis metrics, we integrated influential characteristics on actor’s behavior and performance into three main categories of node level, tie level, and network level. Our findings are applicable to address any emergent phenomenon and the roles of actors based on their position in the network context such as supply chain network and study their behavior and performance.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC 2019e) define population health as “an approach that allows health departments to connect practice to policy.” One intention of the approach is that institutions from several different sectors, including academia, non-profits, public health, and local governments, should collaborate towards a holistic view of local health outcomes. In principal, the holistic view should allow for the recognition of substantial health concerns, such that resources can be re-allocated to address them. In reality, each institution is still bound by unique financial and personnel constraints, and there is little incentive to motivate actions that extend beyond institutional missions. The “Health Disparities in Jail Populations” project required the development of complex inter-organizational memoranda of agreements (MOAs), as well as complex and secure data processing resources to accomplish its secondary data analysis goals. The purpose of this article is to highlight barriers we encountered and the mechanisms we used in overcoming those barriers, while attempting to integrate data across several institutions that “own” different forms of data on health care to individuals who have entered the criminal justice system.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to propose an integrated theory to explain the effect of regional culture on high-technology micro and small (HTMS) firm outcomes. The integrated culture-social capital outcomes (CSCO) model examines the impact of culture on performance and evolution of HTMS firms through the mediating effect of intra-firm and inter-firm social capital. Design/methodology/approach Theoretical insights from social capital and culture are combined with the results of previous empirical observations to explain cross-cultural differences in the performance of HTMS firms. The authors then propose the CSCO model as a means to integrate and advance theory building. Findings The CSCO model explains the impact of culture on performance and evolution of HTMS firms through intra-firm and inter-firm social capital networks. Cultural context affects the performance of high-tech micro and small firms through the nature and structure of the networks involved in building and exploiting inter-firm and intra-firm social capital. Moreover, regional culture indirectly influences the balance between positive and negative effects of social capital on firm performance. These observations explain inconsistent findings from past empirical research and contribute to understanding the “embeddedness paradox” of social capital. Research limitations/implications The present model is not comprehensive. It does not account for many contextual factors identified in organizational network and cluster literature that contribute to the development of HTMS firms. Future research should consider the relationships between the three dimensions of social capital and seek to test the model with rigorous data collection and analysis. Originality/value While past studies focus on the direct relationship between regional culture and firm performance, this paper proposes the mediating effect of internal and external social capital between cultural context and firm performance. This proposal contributes to social capital and entrepreneurship literature and provides a potential explanation for inconsistent findings in past empirical research.

Purpose The scant literature on MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) tourists’ gambling behavior calls for a need to explore how their decision to gamble (hereafter, “gambling decision”) may unfold. Consequently, several questions germane to the inter-relationships among event tourists’ characteristics, casinos attributes, and gambling behaviors remain largely unaddressed. This paper aims to address the void in the literature by investigating event participants’ gambling decision. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected based on two samples, and a multilevel design was used to test the proposed model. Demographic and event-related participant characteristics were examined as antecedents of gambling decision at the individual level. Event goers’ accommodation characteristics such as brand equity and type of hotel were explored as cross-level effects on the individual-level factors and relationships. Findings Results of the study illustrate a joint influence – in terms of both direct and moderating effects – of individual-level and organizational-level characteristics on gambling decision. In particular, brand equity moderates the relationships leading from demographic and event-related characteristics to gambling decision. Practical implications The inter-relationships among events, accommodations and casinos present an opportunity for hospitality practitioners to better integrate these three services in a more coherent experiential offering for the ever-demanding MICE attendees. Findings also help practitioners to justify their targeting strategy. Originality/value The proposed framework presents the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry in which the event, hotel and casino sectors are interdependent, a picture hitherto prevented by the single-level oriented nature of gambling and hospitality research which largely focuses on the individual perspective. Given the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, the findings elucidate a complex interdependency of customer needs.

Purpose While numerous studies have studied knowledge transfer (KT) and endeavored to address factors influencing KT, little effort has been made to integrate the findings of prior studies. This paper aims to classify the literature on KT through a detailed exploration of different perspectives of KT inter and intra organizations. Design/methodology/approach Using actor–network theory (ANT) as the baseline, we conducted a systematic review of KT research to summarize prior KT studies and classify the influential factors on KT. The review covered 115 empirical articles published between 1987 and 2017. Findings Drawing on the review and ANT guidelines, the authors proposed a conceptual model to categorize KT constitutes into objects including those related to (1) knowledge, (2) knowledge exchange and (3) technology, as well as actants including those related to (4) organization, (5) team/business unit and (6) knowledge sender/receiver. Research limitations/implications Adopting a holistic synthesized approach based on ANT, this research puts forward a valid theoretical foundation on further understanding of KT and its antecedents. Indeed, this paper investigates KT inter and intra organizations to recognize and locate the key antecedents of KT, which is of substantial applicability in today’s knowledge-driven economy. Practical implications The findings advance managers and practitioners’ understanding of the important role of actants and objects and their interplay in KT practices. Originality/value While most studies on KT have a narrow focus, this research contributes to holistic understanding of motivational, behavioral, technological and organizational issues related to KT. It also offers a thorough and context-free literature review on KT, which synthesizes the findings of prior studies on KT.

Purpose This paper aims to proposes a framework, labeled strategic alignment matrix, to attain organizational alignment by integrating the horizontal dimension of performance (results driven by activities carried out by multiple organizational units) and the vertical one (results of single units) through the use of a sophisticated information structure composed by quantitative measures and management processes. Design/methodology/approach A science-based design approach was adopted. A review of the literature on strategic performance measurement systems (SPMS) and coordination allowed the identification of a set of design principles (guidelines reflecting the accumulated knowledge in the literature). The design principles guided the design of the proposed framework. The framework was tested in a tiles company on the new product development process. Findings Five design principles are presented for the design of a working SPMS as follows: to integrate the horizontal and vertical dimensions of performance; to have all the relevant information in one place (package); to understand how actors contribute to the overall performance; to favor the emergence of integrating conditions for coordination; and to enrich the role of quantitative non-financial information to attain inter-functional integration. During the test of the framework, managers highlighted the increased ability to coordinate actions and the existence of double-loop learning. Research limitations/implications The model was tested in one organization. The study should be replicated in other contexts connecting the strategic alignment matrix to the budgeting and incentive systems. Originality/value Working at the interface between science and design helps to address the theory-practice gap that has been a priority in management studies for long.

Implementation of EBP in clinical settings is a long-term process and requires multiple strategies such as individual and organizational factors as well as factors related to the patients. This study was conducted to evaluate strategies of integration of EBP in clinical practice.Methods:This review study was performed on the articles related to facilitators and barriers of implementation of EBP.Results:The literature review indicated that multiple strategies can be used to integrate EBP in clinical settings, including:– Creation of a learning environment and designing and delivering training programs such as EBP journal clubs.– Enjoying from EBP experts and faculty members for advice on implementation of EBP.– Research consulting and creation of further interaction between clinicians and research centers.– The discussion meetings of inter-professional and inter-wards.– Promotion of the culture of evidence-based decision making in the clinical arena.– The increasing use of clinical guidelines, development of health care standards.– Providing conditions and accessing resources to research results (time, resources of human, financial and equipment).– Providing resources and free access to EBP database and centers and knowledge management units.– Encourage and support employees interested in EBP.– Identify barriers of EBP implementation and strategies to overcome these barriers.– Monitoring and evaluation of EBP in the organization and providing appropriate solutions.Conclusion:Transformational managers and policy makers can determine a strategic planning according to the barriers and facilitators of EBP, and then can provide the culture and the necessary infrastructure to help clinical staff to develop EBP competencies and a professional environment which resulted in personal and professional growth of staff and improvement of quality of care.
