Повний текст джерелаInformation sharing and collaboration between federal, state, and local agencies has been repeatedly stressed as a part of the national security strategy. The emphasis has been on inter-agency communication and has largely left unaddressed the need for internal information systems improvements. This thesis will examine how Web 2.0 technology as part of an emergent social software platform (ESSP) can be used to improve intra-agency law enforcement criminal information sharing and collaboration. Challenges in implementing these technologies were also examined. Two case studies were conducted to examine current applications of Web 2.0 technologies in secure environments. The hypothesis was that ESSPs have the potential of revolutionizing policing by providing personnel with an advanced means of information sharing and collaboration. The resulting data and information will benefit internal and external intelligence activities. Human-computer interfaces that provide ease of use along with a structure that is mission focused will aid in implementation of an ESSP. Integration with current systems and mobility are also important. However, implementing an ESSP is not simply a technical issue, but a cultural one. For any ESSP to be successful, a culture that values the free and efficient flow of information over traditional hierarchical systems is needed.

Повний текст джерелаSupply Chain Management har under det senaste decenniet fått mycket uppmärksamhet. På grund av en ökande internationell handel har forskningen framförallt behandlat Integration och Centralisering inom distributionskedjor. Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka hur man kan förbättra prestandan av distributionskedjan hos internationella tillverkningsföretag. Genom ett kvalitativt angreppssätt bidrar denna studie med ett holistiskt synsätt av Supply Chain Management, vilket av författarna är ansett kritiskt för att kunna hantera komplexiteten relaterad till Supply Chain Management och förändringsarbete inom detta område. Studiens forskningsfråga har kunnat besvaras genom att undersöka tre delfrågor. Den första behandlar att identifiera huvudproblemområden i distributionskedjan hos fokusföretaget samt internationella tillverkningsföretag generellt. Den andra delfrågan behandlar vilka teoretiska supply chain policies som skulle kunna användas för att lösa de identifierade problemområdena, medan den tredje och sista delfrågan handlar om att identifiera förutsättningar för att kunna hantera förändringsarbete av, och inom, distributionskedjor på ett lyckat sätt. Samtliga delfrågor och huvudfrågan har kunnat besvaras genom genomförandet av en litteraturstudie, intervjuer och workshops med externa områdesexperter inom Supply Chain Management och Supply Chain Change, samt interna intervjuer med anställda på olika avdelningar och nivåer inom fokusföretaget, Toyota Material Handling Europe. Två av de intervjuade experterna utgjordes av chefer på logistikavdelningen på två stora internationella tillverkningsföretag. Företagen i fråga utgjordes av Volvo Construction Equipment respektive Ericsson. Resultaten visar att Informations- och Lagerhantering anses vara de huvudområden inom Supply Chain Management, vilka är i störst behov av förbättringar och förändringar på fokusföretaget samt i stora internationella tillverkningsföretag generellt. Därmed kan prestandan av distributionskedjan förbättras om företag fokuserar på dessa två områden. För att förbättra Informations- och Lagerhanteringen har fyra teoretiska supply chain policies utvärderats, vilka alla mer eller mindre fokuserar på att öka integrationen mellan medlemmar inom distributionskedjan. Genom att utvärdera dessa supply chain policies med avseende på komplexitet, implementationskostnader samt möjlighet att lösa de identifierade huvudproblemområdena, har författarna kunnat dra slutsatsen att policyn Vendor-Managed Inventory bör vara mest passande att implementera på fokusföretaget. I och med detta resultat utvärderades fokusföretagets lämplighet att implementera Vendor-Managed Inventory utifrån en teoretisk modell utvecklad av Niranjan, Wagner och Nguyen (2012). Resultatet av denna utvärdering stödde det tidigare antagandet att Vendor-Managed Inventory är lämpligt för fokusföretaget att implementera. Författarna rekommenderar dock att en VMI-implementation ska ses som ett första steg varefter förtaget även skall utvärdera möjligheten att inkludera sina större leverantörer och därmed öka integrationen av distributionskedjan ytterligare. Detta för att verkligen uppnå de fördelar informationsdelning kan medföra om information delas med samtliga medlemmar i kedjan. Författarna har med hjälp av dessa resultat kunnat dra den teoretiska och generella slutsatsen att Vendor-Managed Inventory, med dess fokus på att öka integrationen i distributionskedjan genom ökat samarbete och ökad informationsdelning mellan distributionskedjans medlemmar, anses lämplig att implementera då företag vill eller behöver förbättras inom dessa områden. Vidare kan avtalsmodellen Consignment Stock komplettera Vendor-Managed Inventory i en internationell kontext genom användandet av en legal ägare av lager, oavsett lagerposition. Författarna rekommenderar även att stora internationella tillverkningsföretag bör sträva mot att inkludera sina större leverantörer och därmed öka integrationen av, och samarbetet inom, distributionskedjan. Detta skulle medföra att prestandan av distributionskedjan förbättras ytterligare. Därmed bör de utvecklas mot supply chain policyn Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment, vilken förespråkar en högre nivå av samarbete än Vendor-Managed Inventory. Vidare visar studien vikten av en välformulerad och kommunicerad Vision i början av större förändringsprojekt. Detta för att öka chanserna till lyckade och välmotiverade förändringar. I och med identifieringen av visionens vitala del i förändringsprojekt, vidareutvecklade författarna modellen; Supply Chain Decison-Making Framework, utvecklad av Chopra & Meindl (2010), till att även inkludera Vision. Dessutom adderades Legala aspekter, då de påverkar både beslutsfattande och möjligheter inom en internationell kontext. Både Vision och Legala aspekter anses av författarna vara kritiska delar för att modellen skall vara applicerbar i en internationell och föränderlig miljö. I linje med forskning inom förändringshantering som identifierats i litteraturen, anses Chopra & Meindl’s vidareutvecklade modell nu vara lämplig att användas som en hjälp för företag att utvärdera sin nuvarande och önskade framtida distributionsstruktur.

Повний текст джерелаThis thesis contains three distinct papers related to the behavior of investors or firms acting under imperfect competition. First, we consider a Kyle’s (1985) model where investors can produce either a (fundamental) signal on the value of the risky asset, or a (non fundamental)signal on the forth coming demand from noise traders. We show that reducing the cost of the non-fundamental signal worsens price informativeness as well as the welfare of noise traders under some conditions. Then, we extend the model by allowing non fundamental traders to submit limit orders. Their activity is then analogous to front running. By this mean, we enrich our results and show that the potentially detrimental effect of non-fundamental information still pertains. Then, we consider a market à la Kyle (1985) where uninformed hedgers trade for risk sharing purposes with investors located on a network, who share their signal with their“contacts”. This hypothesis formalizes a better diffusion of information. We evaluate its effect on speculative gains and hedgers’ expected utility which depends on the risk sharing role of the market. We show that the introduction of the network might simultaneously improve these two welfare measures as well as price informativeness. An original result that cannot be obtained otherwise. Finally, we consider a contribution game between two competitors of different sizes. We obtain the value of their (irreversible) contributions during each period of the game. We show that the asymmetry between the two firms strongly slowers the collaboration process,high lighting the importance of contractual arrangements in some circumstances. Also, we obtain that increasing competition might be detrimental to social welfare, because it harms the ability of the two firms to set up a mutually beneficial process of collaboration

Повний текст джерелаTechnological advances, specifically within the field of mobile and ubiquitous technologies, hold the promise to support collaboration in work and educational environments in new ways. Within collaborative systems, it is possible to use ubiquitous technology to provide users with services to interact - for instance share information - with other users in a given environment. Over the course of this project, the authors have created a set of design principles for co-located information sharing in collaborative systems, using a structured method called patterns. The aim of these patterns is to provide support for designers and developers of collaborative systems to take advantage of mobile and ubiquitous technology when designing and implementing support for co-located sharing. The patterns were based on a set of re-occurring problems identified as important for co-located information sharing between users. These problems were identified by performing a review of relevant literature, research and existing solutions on the subject. An initial set of patterns were created based on this review. The patterns themselves are written on an abstraction level that targets the human-computer interaction part of sharing information between co-located users. The patterns where then evaluated by three experts within system engineering and collaborative systems, in an iterative process. The overall aim of these evaluations were to ensure that the patterns were easy to understand, and that they provided the information that was relevant for the problem and the domain, in order to be useful in the development process of collaborative systems. The result of these evaluations culminated in a final set of patterns for co-located information sharing. These patterns describe guidelines for: (1) How users can specify the information they wish to share and the receiver(s) of that information, (2) how users can be aware of the potential for collaboration, (3) how situated displays can be used to share information, (4) how user privacy should be protected and (5) how information should be available when the user needs it. The final set of patterns is given in chapter 6 of the thesis.

Повний текст джерелаThe social media have played an increasingly important role in many areas of our every day life. Among others, social network sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+ have recently exploded in popularity by attracting millions of users, who communicate with each other, share and publish information and contents at an unprecedented rate. Besides the recognized advantages, social network sites have also raised various issues and challenges. We are particularly interested in two of them, information overload and "walled gardens". These two problems prevent the users from fully and efficiently exploiting thewealth of information available on social network sites. The users have difficulties to filter all incoming contents, to discover additional contents from outside of their friend circles, and importantly to share interesting contents with their different groups of interest. For helping the users to overcome such difficulties, we propose a User-centered and group- based approach for social data filtering and sharing. This novel approach has a twofold purpose : (1) allow the users to aggregate their social data from different social network sites, and to extract from those data the contents of their interest, and (2) organize and share the contents within different groups. The members of a group are moreover able to choose which part of their social data to share with the group, and collectively define its topics of interest. To achieve the proposed approach, we define a modular system architecture including a number of extensible modules, and accordingly build a working Web-based prototype, called SoCoSys. The experimental results, obtained from the two different tests, confirm the added values of our approach

It describes the genesis of the free software movement as well as how it has become consolidated as an independent domain of knowledge production. In order to better illustrate the model of production proposed by the Free Software Movement and its virtual communities, this paper presents an analysis on the Debian project´s organization and structure for the making of decisions. It explores the limitations of the current model of intelectual property and how it has become a powerful tool for making knowledge a prisoner of private institutions. At last, this dissertation presents how this new model of collaborative production surpasses the software development and begins to influence different areas of knowledge, leaving behing the idea of intelectual property and becoming a concept of intelectual inheritance

É descrita a gênese do movimento de software livre e como ele vem sendo consolidado como um campo autônomo de produção do conhecimento. Para exemplificar o modelo de produção proposto pelo Movimento de Software Livre e suas comunidades virtuais, é feita uma análise da organização e da estrutura para tomada de decisões do projeto Debian. A dissertação explora as limitações do atual modelo de propriedade intelectual e como este vem se tornando uma poderosa ferramenta para o aprisionamento do conhecimento dentro de instituições privadas. Por fim, é apresentado, de que forma esse novo modelo de produção colaborativa ultrapassa o desenvolvimento de softwares e passa a influenciar outras áreas do conhecimento, abandonando a idéia de propriedade intelectual e aproximandose do conceito de patrimônio intelectual

Повний текст джерелаHoje em dia, devido ao aumento da complexidade do ambiente competitivo nos mercados empresariais, as empresas devem ter parcerias colaborativas, pois estas são fundamentais para alcançar vantagem competitiva, uma vez que melhora a agilidade e eficácia da gestão da cadeia de abastecimento (Singh, Garg & Sachdeva, 2018). A partilha de informação, além de permitir a integração nos sistemas, tornou-se o pilar da colaboração na cadeia de abastecimento devido aos avanços da tecnologia. Transbase, S.A. - Transportes e Logística é a empresa de logística em Portugal que fornece as insígnias (Intermarché, Bricomarché e Roady) de um grupo na área do retalho – “Groupement Les Mousquetaires”. Este projeto foi executado no departamento de Fluxos e nos processos de recepção e encomenda e foca-se no principal desafio na relação entre a Transbase e os seus fornecedores: falta de partilha de informação. Neste estudo, foi feita a caracterização da colaboração existente com os fornecedores. Em seguida, foi definida a proposta de solução e feita uma avaliação dos seus impactos, através de uma análise a KPIs e um questionário aos colaboradores da Transbase. Por fim, foram feitas recomendações para melhorias futuras.

ABSTRACTThe product development is an important indicator for the industry to seek the improvement and to enhance the competitive. The impact of product development could affect the future of enterprise. The current research are focusing on bring the concept of concurrent engineering to replace the traditional sequential processes. According to different demands in the product development process, designers should seek appropriate solutions. It will be helpful if designer can be offered the needed data properly throughout the process. But the capability of current searching model for design data can''t fulfill designers'' requirements. Searching design data is not only time-consuming, but also lack of structural and effective applied approaches. Therefore, the experience and resource of a design project can''t pass to the following designers, which is a great loss for the organization and the designers.A design information sharing system should base on the existing computer network system. Through the network, the system provides a more efficient and effective way for the design team and the assistant to share data and communicate. It helps all the team members to gain a better understanding of the design progress, and speed up the development process.In this study, according to the requirement of the different stages throughout the design process, we, from the industrial designer''s point of view, combined the descriptions of the design data characteristic and the relationships of the user data, and proposed the Design Information Sharing Model. Based on the application procedural and the data retrieval strategy in this model, we have developed a design supporting tool to help the designer retrieving and applying the design data simply and quickly.The Design Information Sharing Model explores the transformation of design information in concurrent engineering design process, and the technique of information sharing throughout the process. In addition, a simplified data searching method is provided to enhance the communicational effectiveness of the design team and to help the designer to transform and build up the design information format, so the design knowledge can be saved, shared and applied in the future.Keyword: Industrial Design, Design Information, Data Searching, Information Sharing

“Digital Signage” is a new developing media, spreading multimedia information through large flat-panel displays in public spaces. It can transmit effective information to all kinds of business application occasions to reach target customers. And now, its main application field is for commercial advisements. Its advertising is a form of out-of-home advertising in which content and messages are displayed on digital signage typically with the goal of delivering targeted messages to specific locations at specific times. The major findings of this research are presented as following:1. Digital Signage provides more instant information than other media. 2. Digital Signage cooperates with more related companies than other media. 3. Digital Signage relies on the presence of a physical store. 4. The value of digital signage information is active, instant and interactive. 5. Due to replying on physical store, Digital Signage has exclusivities to other channels. 6. The advertisement revenue is not as good as expected.
