The current research aims to clarify the meaning of removing contradictions' ranks, the importance of their gradation by studying different cases in Taʾwīl Mushkil al-Ḥadīth of Ibn Qutaybah. The study also demonstrates through which the defect has arisen and the answer for the contradiction, and the effect of leaving the gradation of the ranks in removing the contradiction. The research adopted the descriptive approach in explaining the importance of caring about the reasoning before reconciling the different hadiths. Aside from that, the research also utilised the critical approach in performing critical study for selected models from various hadiths commentaries. The research was limited to six ranks to remove the illusory contradiction; it proved the importance of gradation and its effective role in evaluating the answers to different or problematic hadiths. The researcher has practically studied nine models from various hadiths commentaries, through which he showed the effect of gradualism of these ranks in depicting the accuracy of the answer to the conflict and problematic hadiths.

This study aims to measure the quality of service by the Layanan Administrasi Akademik Perguruan Tinggi in Yogyakarta. Quality of service is measured using the concept of SERVQUAL developed by Parasuraman et al. (1985) consists of 10 dimensions. They are tangible, reliability, responsiveness, competence, courtesy, credibility, security, access, communication, understanding the customer. The level of student satisfaction is determined using the formula of Student Satisfaction Index (SSI). Analysis of the difference between expected and perceived the quality of service by the Cartesian diagram using the ImportancePerformance Analysis (IPA) and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test. This study used a sample of 302 college students in Yogyakarta. The results show that SSI is in a good category. Courstesy and reliability have lowest SSI. Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test results show that the quality of service received by students is lower than expected for all dimensions. In this paper, we propose and compare new methodologies for ranking the importance of variables in productive processes via an adaptation of OneClass Support Vector Machines. In particular, we adapt two methodologies inspired by the machine learning literature: one involving the random shuffling of values of a variable and another one using the objective value of the dual formulation of the model. Additionally, we motivate the use of these type of algorithms in the production context and compare their performance via a computational experiment. We observe that the methodology based on shuffling the values of a variable outperforms the methodology based on the dual formulation. We observe that the shuffling-based methodology correctly ranks the variables in 94% of the scenarios with one relevant input and one irrelevant input. Moreover, it correctly ranks each variable in at least 65% of replications of a scenario with three relevant inputs and one irrelevant input.

In this paper, the authors analyze global innovation rankings as provided by Strategy& over the last 7 years. They first explore the raw ranks and report variations in year-over-year (YOY) ranks for top ten ranking companies. The normalized innovation ranks are then used to calculate the Innovation Power (inP) to assess if these companies maintained or improved their ranks over time. An interesting classification of innovations for the top 10 emerges from this analysis. The constant top innovators were Apple and Google. The rising innovators were Tesla, 3M and Facebook. Other classifications are discussed. The authors propose a non-statistical predictive model, which is reminiscent of a kinematic model using a novel concept of Innovation Momentum (inM) and predict that for 2017, Apple and Google will hold their first and second place, followed by Amazon, Samsung and Tesla. Facebook is also expected to rise in its rank. Companies that reach out and serve end-user needs with service innovations appear rising in ranks, far more than R&D intensive patent filing innovators in these ranks. Tesla is an interesting top ranker to watch. There are implications for software focused companies gaining importance given their flexibility over hardware dominant ones. Some bottom innovators are further declining. Although the rankings are perception-based, there is a pattern that implies it is not random or merely subjective. The analysis highlights the need for leaders and consultants to put in perspective the complex management problem of measuring innovation.

ABSTRACT Characterization of coal micro-structure and the associated rock mechanical properties are of key importance for coal seam exploration, coal bed methane development, enhanced coal bed methane production and CO2 storage in deep coal seams. Considerable knowledge exists about coal chemical properties, but less is known about the nanoscale to the micro-scale structure of coals and how they change with coal strength across coal ranks. Thus, in this study, 3D X-ray micro-computed tomography (with a voxel size of 3.43 µm) and nano-indentation tests were conducted on coal samples of different ranks from peat to anthracite. The micro-structure of peats showed a well-developed pore system with meso- and micro-pores. The meso-pores essentially disappear with increasing rank, whereas the micro-pores persist and then increase past the bituminous rank. The micro-fracture system develops past the peat stage and by sub-bituminous ranks and changes into larger and mature fracture systems at higher ranks. The nano-indentation modulus showed the increasing trend from low- to high-rank coal with a perfect linear relationship with vitrinite reflectance and is highly correlated with carbon content as expected.

The article presents the results of the study of nut crops common in the north-eastern region of Azerbaijan. As a result of scientific expeditions carried out in the north-eastern — Kuba-Khachmaz Economic Region of Azerbaijan, the areas of distribution of nut crops have been identified. It has been established that Corylus ranks first in this region in terms of distribution area. Kuba, Khachmaz, Kusar Districts are rich in wild forms of Corylus. According to the distribution area, the Juglans regia occupies the second place after the Corylus.

With the increasing penetration of new energy sources, the volatility and uncertainty of new energy output can lead to interruptions or fluctuations in the supply of electricity. Power cuts to critical loads can have a significant impact on public safety, social stability, and the economy. Dealing with the effects of uncertainty from new energy sources means we need to find and strengthen the important loads and power sources when designing and operating the power system. Therefore, the assessment of the importance of loads, conventional power sources, and new energy sources is crucial. This paper proposes a power source importance evaluation method based on load importance and new energy uncertainty. The method constructs a load importance evaluation system considering structural characteristics, outage loss, regulation capability, and other factors. To determine the importance of each load, the method uses the ideal solution method and ranks them accordingly. Next, the method calculates the power supply coefficient, which represents the power supply capability of the power source to the critical loads. This calculation involves using the three-point estimation method, which combines the characteristics of the new energy output and the importance of each load. Following that, the evaluation of load importance and the power supply capacity to critical loads is accomplished based on the ideal solution method, taking into account the diversity of power supply characteristics. This comprehensive evaluation allows us to assess the significance of each load and the power supply capability to meet the needs of critical loads, considering the unique characteristics of each power source. Finally, an example analysis is carried out on the IEEE39 to calculate the importance of various types of power sources, which can accurately reflect the power supply capacity of power sources to important loads and verify the validity of the evaluation method. This method provides subsidies for future power system grid planning and operation.

Abstract While evaluating climate impacts within different climate change scenarios, analysts and stakeholders may have different goals and therefore it is usually difficult to define a common decision-making framework applicable for various practical uses. In this paper, we combine two different group decision-making methodologies to prioritise criteria for assessing output information from regional climate models. The first is based on use of a multi-criteria analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to determine weights of criteria as cardinal information about their importance. The second methodology uses two voting methods, namely Borda count and Approval voting, to generate ordinal information (ranks) for criteria. A set of five criteria is assessed by 16 PhD students from the field of climatology, and generated decisions about their importance in the validation of regional climate models' quality are summarised, compared, and critically discussed. The paper is closed with recommendations for further research.

Abstract The present article investigates issues of military terminology in the Hungarian and Romanian subtitles of the highly popular TV mini-series Band of Brothers. The introductory part offers a brief presentation of terms, possible definitions, and their relevance for translators/subtitlers, and then – based on a possible mind map of military terms, including army units, equipment, ranks, commands, tactics, rewards, and punishments – we analyse samples belonging to army equipment and ranks (commanders) in the Hungarian and Romanian subtitles, arguing for the importance of reliable sources and consistency, which directly contribute to the quality of translations or subtitles. A special field of investigation may be represented by the specific military abbreviations and acronyms, which may offer an objective insight into the level of expertise of the translators/subtitlers.

In Ukraine ovarian cancer ranks third among pelvic malignancies in women of childbearing age and ranks first in the structure of mortality of women from oncogynecological pathology. The aim of the study – to increase the diagnostic value of multiparametric ultrasound examination of ovarian malignancies using compression sonoelastography. Material and methods. A comprehensive radiological study of 48 patients with ovarian cancer was performed. The average age of patients was (45.22 ± 4.08) years. Ultrasound was performed on a HITACHI ALOCA ARIETTA 70 using a cavitary multifrequency sensor with a frequency of 7.5-10 mHz Compression elastography was used to assess the rigidity of the detected formation. Results. In 30 (62.5%) women in the sonoelastography mode different elastotype was detected, because the liquid component had a blue-green-red color corresponding to 0 elastotype, and the solid component and papillary growths were mapped mostly blue, rarely with green admixtures, ie. had IV-V elastotype on the UENO scale. The hardness index of the solid component ranged from 4.3 to 46 um.od. In 18 (37.5%) patients malignant were mapped in blue, which corresponded to the V elanotype according to UENO and had a high hardness index, which ranged from 5.2 to 56 um.od. All of these formations were classified as high-risk - O-RADS 5, as all formations were characterized by ultrasonic descriptors with a high degree of prediction of malignancy. Conclusions. Innovative technology of sonoelastography provides qualitatively new information about the elasticity of tissues and allows to assess the stiffness of ovarian tumors with high accuracy and specificity.

Networks describe various complex natural systems including social systems. We investigate the social network of co-occurrence in Reuters-21578 corpus, which consists of news articles that appeared in the Reuters newswire in 1987. People are represented as vertices and two persons are connected if they co-occur in the same article. The network has small-world features with power-law degree distribution. The network is disconnected and the component size distribution has power-law characteristics. Community detection on a degree-reduced network provides meaningful communities. An edge-reduced network, which contains only the strong ties has a star topology. "Importance" of persons are investigated. The network is the situation in 1987. After 20 years, a better judgment on the importance of the people can be done. A number of ranking algorithms, including Citation count and PageRank, are used to assign ranks to vertices. The ranks given by the algorithms are compared against how well a person is represented in Wikipedia. We find up to medium level Spearman's rank correlations. A noteworthy finding is that PageRank consistently performed worse than the other algorithms. We analyze this further and find reasons.

This study emphasizes the importance of Islamic Theology and the need for its renewal, and the update of its levels through a number of suggestions, based on the review of a set of central concepts, with specific focus of the concept of foundations of the religion. The study tries to distinguish between ranks of theology which allows updating positions on theology rejection, update positions of theologians themselves on theology dispute, and explain areas of these ranks that deserve the renewal.

The article presents the main directions and results of the activities of the political bodies of the Air Force of the Red Army to strengthen the Communist Party influence on servicemen in order to increase the combat readiness of aviation compounds during a fundamental change during the World War II. The measures to improve the organisational structure of the Party organisations, replenishing the ranks of Bolsheviks in the army, a change in the qualitative composition and conduct of political and upbringing work among the party members. During the study, the reasons for the quantitative expansion of the Party layer in the ranks of the Air Force, simplifying the entry into the ranks of the Communists, along with a qualitative change in the composition of the Party series are disclosed. The reorganisation of the Komsomol is considered in detail and its importance during the fundamental change in the World War II. The scientific article is written using the sources of the central archive of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, some of which has been published for the first time. The study of this problem allows the use of accumulated military experience, which can be used in the face of non-party principle of the modern Armed Forces of Russia.

Background.Nonperception of efficacy ranks among the most commonly cited causes for nonadherence to sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT). Quality of life (QoL) in patients is a determining factor influencing adherence. We investigated QoL and adherence separately in SLIT patients at one pediatric practice in Germany.Methods.We conducted a noninterventional, cross-sectional, retrospective, quality-of-life survey among pediatric patients treated with SLIT. QoL was assessed using the generic SF-12 health survey in German. The items contained in the SF-12 health survey are weighted, added up, and converted to obtain a physical component score (PCS) and a mental component score (MCS). Each component score ranges from 0 to 100; the higher the score, the better the QoL perceived.Results. 201 surveyed patients who had undergone SLIT showed PCS-12 of 49.3 (± 7.0) and MCS-12 of 52.6 (± 7.2). These figures correlate strongly with those reported for the German general population(n=2453): PCS-12 of 49.6 (± 8.7) and MCS-12 of 52.3 (± 8.0). 70.2% (73) of 104 patients were adherent at this practice.Conclusions. QoL in the SLIT patients surveyed here appears as good as that of the general population. Adherence to SLIT at this practice was remarkably better than that reported elsewhere.

ABSTRACT This study explores chief audit executives' perceptions of the most important performance attributes of internal auditors by professional rank and cultural cluster. A large sample of chief audit executives (CAEs) from 19 countries located in five different cultural clusters was surveyed by the Institute of Internal Auditors Research Foundation (CBOK 2006). Analysis of data generated by that survey indicates that while leadership attributes (e.g., negotiating) are perceived to be most important for upper ranks in internal auditing, technical skills (e.g., analytical) are most important for lower ranks. Also, based on the cultural relativism literature, I hypothesize and find evidence that the importance of performance attributes differs significantly by cultural cluster. For example, while Latin-American CAEs rated leadership attributes at higher levels than other cultural clusters for internal audit staff, the East-European chief audit executives assessed the importance of technical skills at higher levels than other clusters. The results of the survey provide important initial empirical support to the list of “ideal” and “desirable” performance attributes for internal auditors recently developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA 2009). Purpose: We examined the importance of record competition in women’s marathon by comparing and analyzing the records of elite female marathoners for each competition they participated in. Methods: Data of the top 500 female marathon athletes in 2019 were collected from the World Athletics home page (http://www.worldathletics.org). All competitions approved by the World Athletics were given one of the following categories based on the scale of the competitions: OW, GL, A, B, C, D, E, and F. Race results, relative performances, and the categories of competitions in which subjects participated in were analyzed. Record comparisons were made using one-way ANOVA followed by the Bonferroni post hoc test. Results: There were significant differences in the average record of each category of competition. The average finishing time in GL was the fastest [2:30:26 (± 00:06:29)]. From A to F, average finishing time tended to increase from 2:32:38 (± 00:05:24) to 2:38:17 (± 00:08:27). The average finishing time in OW was the slowest [2:50:36 (± 00:10:48)]. Comparing the relative performances of the athletes in a year, relative performance was faster when participating in large scale international competitions (e.g., GL, A, B, and C), where the primary motivation of athletes is to achieve best records, than other smaller competitions (e.g., E and F), where athletes compete for ranks rather than records (p<.05). However, the relative performance in Olympic Games and World Championships (i.e., OW) was much slower than others (p<.05). Conclusions: These results are interpreted to mean that record competition is better for marathon performance.

Ranking problems arise in setting priorities for investigations, in providing a simple summary of performance, in comparing objects in a manner robust to measurement scale, and in a wide variety of other applications. Commonly, rankings are computed from measurements that depend on the true attribute. Using the Gaussian model, we propose and compare methods for using these measurements to estimate the ranks of the underlying attributes and show that those based on an empirical Bayes model produce estimates that differ from ranking observed data. These differences result both from the effect of shrinking posterior means towards a common value by an amount that depends on the precision of individual measurements and from the Bayes processing of the posterior distribution to produce estimates that account for the uncertainty in the distribution of the ranks. We illustrate different ranking methods using data on school achievement reported by Aitkin and Longford (1986) . Mathematical and empirical results highlight the importance of using appropriate ranking methods and identify issues requiring further research.

Visual ratings were converted to ranks and the most and least palatable lines were compared over 19 grazing assessments in trials at Wagga Wagga, Temora and Orange, New South Wales. Three highly palatable and 2 acceptably palatable accessions were identified. The importance of palatability in the E. curvula complex is discussed.

Abstract: Electronic waste, often known as E waste, refers to abandoned or unwanted electrical or electronic equipment or parts. Rapid obsolescence and penetration rates will cause crises in developing countries such as India. The majority of E-waste generated in India is generated in big cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, and so on. Within Maharashtra, Mumbai, often known as the Oxford of the East and home to a variety of companies, particularly in the IT sector, ranks high on the list of cities in India that generate a lot of E garbage. The majority of E waste in Mumbai is disposed of in landfills or incinerated, whereas the formal industry is facing problems due to a lack of E waste-waste model rate is extremely increasing daily, particularly for a few key products as a result of changes in technology, fashion, and people's per capita earnings. In general, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation and various firms have committed to processing only a small fraction of the total E garbage generated. E garbage management is a critical task since e-waste poses a risk to people. Authorities pass an E waste control law, but without political will, it is not properly implemented. A few examples of e-waste are discarded computers, audio equipment, cell phones, electric lamps, fax machines, copiers, stereos, VCRs, televisions, batteries, and so on. This garbage contains non-biodegradable polymers that pose a serious threat to the environment.

Abstract. Surface gravity waves play a critical role in several processes, including mixing, coastal inundation, and surface fluxes. Despite the growing literature on the importance of ocean surface waves, wind–wave processes have traditionally been excluded from Earth system models (ESMs) due to the high computational costs of running spectral wave models. The development of the Next Generation Ocean Model for the DOE’s (Department of Energy) E3SM (Energy Exascale Earth System Model) Project partly focuses on the inclusion of a wave model, WAVEWATCH III (WW3), into E3SM. WW3, which was originally developed for operational wave forecasting, needs to be computationally less expensive before it can be integrated into ESMs. To accomplish this, we take advantage of heterogeneous architectures at DOE leadership computing facilities and the increasing computing power of general-purpose graphics processing units (GPUs). This paper identifies the wave action source terms, W3SRCEMD, as the most computationally intensive module in WW3 and then accelerates them via GPU. Our experiments on two computing platforms, Kodiak (P100 GPU and Intel(R) Xeon(R) central processing unit, CPU, E5-2695 v4) and Summit (V100 GPU and IBM POWER9 CPU) show respective average speedups of 2× and 4× when mapping one Message Passing Interface (MPI) per GPU. An average speedup of 1.4× was achieved using all 42 CPU cores and 6 GPUs on a Summit node (with 7 MPI ranks per GPU). However, the GPU speedup over the 42 CPU cores remains relatively unchanged (∼ 1.3×) even when using 4 MPI ranks per GPU (24 ranks in total) and 3 MPI ranks per GPU (18 ranks in total). This corresponds to a 35 %–40 % decrease in both simulation time and usage of resources. Due to too many local scalars and arrays in the W3SRCEMD subroutine and the huge WW3 memory requirement, GPU performance is currently limited by the data transfer bandwidth between the CPU and the GPU. Ideally, OpenACC routine directives could be used to further improve performance. However, W3SRCEMD would require significant code refactoring to make this possible. We also discuss how the trade-off between the occupancy, register, and latency affects the GPU performance of WW3.

Theoretical interpretation of the notion “lootingˮ is examined, the history of its origin and further spreading of this pernicious phenomenon in the ranks of Napoleon I Bonaparte's Grand Army is analyzed. Looting is among the most condemned types of war crimes committed during armed clashes between states. Paradoxically, for all the negativity of the phenomenon, looting has been around as long as the history of war itself. Throughout its history, looting has had a negative effect on all opposing sides in war - an army where looting reigns, is prone to a massive decline in discipline and is unable to fight with maximum efficiency. During the military campaigns of the early nineteenth century, law and morality often lost their significance and could not act as a deterrent to the unlawful behavior of those involved in military conflict. The era of the Napoleonic Wars is an unvarnished demonstration of human nature during bloody military campaigns. Despite the fact that Napoleon's soldiers and officers strove to observe motives of honor and dignity, Napoleon's rapid style of war inevitably led to starvation in the ranks of the Grand Army, and as a consequence, there were many disasters and, above all, looting. The importance of the problem of the spread of looting in the ranks of Napoleon I's army is reflected not only in the studies of scholars, but also in the memoirs of contemporaries of the events in question.

Abstract The unexpected arrival of COVID-19 significantly affected passenger behaviour and changed travel habits. This paper aims to assess passenger mobility due to the pandemic based on an online questionnaire survey conducted in two countries, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. This paper focused on evaluating the importance rate of selected factors depending on the means of transport. We describe how the most frequently used means of transport (regular travel habits) affect the degree of importance of selected factors during COVID-19, including the journey to work and school. The Likert scale measuring method involves finance, comfort, sustainability, time, and safety as decisive factors, whereas the Kruskal-Wallis test examines proposed hypotheses. We demonstrated the contingency of the importance rate and the frequently used means of transport for commuting to work or school. The questionnaire ranks time and safety among the most important variables affecting the selection of transport means.

The transmission of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and the severity of the related disease (COVID-19) are influenced by a large number of factors. This study aimed to investigate the correlation of COVID-19 case and death rates with possible causal climatological and sociodemographic factors for the March to May 2020 (first wave) period in a worldwide scale by statistically processing data for over one hundred countries. The weather parameters considered herein were air temperature, relative humidity, cumulative precipitation, and cloud cover, while sociodemographic factors included population density, median age, and government measures in response to the pandemic. The results of this study indicate that there is a statistically significant correlation between average atmospheric temperature and the COVID-19 case and death rates, with chi-square test p-values in the 0.001–0.02 range. Regarding sociodemographic factors, there is an even stronger dependence of the case and death rates on the population median age (p = 0.0006–0.0012). Multivariate linear regression analysis using Lasso and the forward stepwise approach revealed that the median age ranks first in importance among the examined variables, followed by the temperature and the delays in taking first governmental measures or issuing stay-at-home orders.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to estimate Google search engine’s ranking function from a search engine optimization (SEO) perspective. Design/methodology/approach – The paper proposed an estimation function that defines the query match score of a search result as the weighted sum of scores from a limited set of factors. The search results for a query are re-ranked according to the query match scores. The effectiveness was measured by comparing the new ranks with the original ranks of search results. Findings – The proposed method achieved the best SEO effectiveness when using the top 20 search results for a query. The empirical results reveal that PageRank (PR) is the dominant factor in Google ranking function. The title follows as the second most important, and the snippet and the URL have roughly equal importance with variations among queries. Research limitations/implications – This study considered a limited set of ranking factors. The empirical results reveal that SEO effectiveness can be assessed by a simple estimation of ranking function even when the ranks of the new and original result sets are quite dissimilar. Practical implications – The findings indicate that web marketers should pay particular attention to a webpage’s PR, and then place the keyword in URL, the page title, and snippet. Originality/value – There have been ongoing concerns about how to formulate a simple strategy that can help a website get ranked higher in search engines. This study provides web marketers much needed empirical evidence about a simple way to foresee the ranking success of an SEO effort.

Vulnerability to climate change of the Moldavian part of the Dniester river was assessed as the function of exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity of its basin’s natural and socioeconomic systems. As a spatial “scale” of the assessment, Moldova’s administrative-territorial units (ATUs) were selected. The exposure assessment was based on the climatic analysis of baseline (1971–2000) temperature and precipitation and projections of their changes in 2021–2050, separately for cold and warm periods. The sensitivity assessment included physiographical and socioeconomic characteristics, described by a set of specific indicators. The adaptive capacity was expressed by general economic and agricultural indicators, taking into consideration the medical provision and housing conditions. Through a ranking approach, the relative vulnerability of each ATU was calculated by summing its sensitivity and adaptive capacity ranks; the latter were obtained as combinations of their primary indicator ranks, arranged in an increasing and decreasing order, respectively. Due to lack of sound knowledge on these components' importance in overall assessment of vulnerability, their weights were taken as conventionally equal. Mapping of vulnerability revealed that ATUs neighboring to municipalities are the most vulnerable and need special attention in climate change adaptation. The basin’s “hotspots” were discussed with public participation.

In the scope of countries in ASEAN, Indonesia ranks second after Cambodia. Teenage girl tend to dominate more in the increasing number of early marriage. This early marriage has risks to women's reproductive health. Therefore, the importance of knowledge about reproductive health and early marriage in teenage girls. This study aim to review some research in form of literature of reproductive health and early marriage in teenage girls. Research method used literature review from Pubmed, Scincedirect, and and various research articles and case reports in Indonesian and English. There are total of 8 literatures that fit on this literature review. The results regarding the knowledge of teenagers on reproductive health, the factors that influence early marriage, and the effects of early marriage teenagers. Factor about lack of knowledge that influence the occurrence of early marriage. Efforts need to be made to increas knowledge regarding reproductive health and early marriage effectively, such as campaigns on these two matters through social media used by teenagers.

This paper aims to infer the importance of gyms and health clubs in the fight against non-communicable chronic diseases (NCDs) and the fight against obesity and physical inactivity amid a global pandemic. Neither scholars nor health associations present a clear indicator of devices dealing with physical inactivity, unlike what was done with hospital beds. In this gap lies this article’s purpose: in light of upstream social marketing, to propose that the number of gyms per 100,000 inhabitants, with the physical activity penetration rate, combined in a synthetic variable is an indicator in the fight against physical inactivity and obesity. We strive to offer a synthetic variable, namely Gym Access. We proposed a Gym Access ranking amongst the 61 countries utilizing the new variable. We analyzed secondary data from 61 countries using Confirmatory and Exploratory Factorial Analyses, Linear and Multiple Regression, Process Mediation Analysis, and One-way ANOVA. The latent variable positively impacts the country’s life expectancy, and NCDs absolute risk rate mediates the impact of Gym Access on the country’s life expectancy. Finland ranks first in the Gym Access ranking, and Indonesia ranks last. There is a significant statistical difference between OECD countries compared to other countries.

The aim of this workshop is to help teachers understand quantitative and qualitative research methods. The workshop is carried out through class discussions with the participants. The speaker first presented the material, then continued with a simple guided exercise in the class discussion. The data from the workshop were collected by means of tests to see the participants' understanding of the material and a questionnaire to see the usefulness of the workshop given. Based on the survey results, it was found that this research method workshop was well understood and beneficial to teachers. <strong></strong></em></p><p><strong>ABSTRACT (INDONESIAN):</strong> Metode penelitian menjadi elemen yang sangat penting dalam membuat penelitian ilmiah. Currently, the Russian-Chinese relations of strategic partnership have a tendency of progressive and systematic development, the leadership of both countries pays special attention to regional cooperation, mutually beneficial use of comparative advantages of border regions, sustainable economic development of border territories. This paper analyzes the dynamics of trade relations between the Far Eastern Federal District and China. There is a positive trend in the growth of foreign trade between Russia and China. China ranks first in the volume of Russia’s foreign trade turnover. The border territories of Russia and China are traditionally considered the basis of Russian-Chinese relations. The analysis of trade relations between the Far Eastern Federal District and China demonstrates that China has been the most important trading partner of the Far Eastern Federal District for a long period of time. The three northeastern provinces of China have the closest trade ties with Russia. Regional cooperation between Russia and China provides ample opportunities for the development of cross-border economic ties.

This paper proposes to use the indicators derived from MFA, complemented with water and energy indicators, to analyze the efficiency and the materialization ranks of Ningdong energy(coal) and coal chemical base (China). The companies in the base have many opportunities to improve on these aspects and the indicators can measure and reflect their evolution. In addition, the results show the importance that some flows such as water inputs which often are omitted, can have in some study cases.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is a technique that searches various web pages for specified keywords and ranks these Web pages according to some parameters. They are used to feed pages to search engines.  The main importance of SEO is that it helps to find the relevant data and increase the rank of a webpage in search engines’ results. In our paper, we develop a new algorithm M-HITS (Modified HITS) to provide the page rank. M-HITS Algorithm is a new version of HITS algorithm. It is developed by extending the properties of HITS algorithm.

The Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) leadership charged a 13-member Presidential Task Force on Careers to obtain membership’s thoughts on preferences and needs regarding career-assistance programming and activities. This Spring 2019 report details a survey of the interest of educators, of all ranks, in current AEJMC efforts and the need for more targeted and accessible opportunities, both at annual conferences and online modules. Results included members’ thoughts on professional development, burnout, tenure and posttenure processes, academic culture, and the importance of being forward thinking regarding news and strategic communications industries outside of academia.

In an investigation to find the prevalence of the fragile X (Martin Bell) syndrome in a mental handicap hospital, chromosomal investigations were carried out in 196 males selected out of a total of 512, and also in 20 female patients who were related to some of the selected males. Fragile X cells were found in 41 of the males and two of the females; in 21 of the males it was associated with macro-orchidism. The overall prevalence in the hospital for males (8.0%) ranks this syndrome next in importance to Down's syndrome as a known cause for mental handicap.

In this study 57 deans in 67 United States and Canadian Dental Schools ranked, in decreasing order of importance, 12 performance criteria and then ranked the same 12 criteria as they perceived faculty would rank them. Agreement between the deans' two global rankings gave a Spearman's rank-order correlation of .92. Although the general level of agreement between the two perceptual ranks was significant, several important discrepancies in rank order were identified. Deans perceived that faculty would rank number of publications first and classroom, clinical, and laboratory teaching third. Deans personally ranked classroom, clinical, and laboratory teaching as first and number of publications as fourth. Implications of the discrepancy between the perceived importance of research productivity and teaching in faculty evaluation were discussed with respect to the increasing emphasis placed on research for dental faculty within the university.

Increasing female participation rates in undergraduate economics programs are not reflected in increasing female representation in the ranks of academic economists. Approximately 42 per cent of undergraduate students are women but the percentage of women participating declines in postgraduate programs and in academic positions in economics departments, where approximately 26 per cent of academics are women. Female representation in the academic labour market has an importance beyond its numbers. A lack of female role models and mentors among academics is one factor that may affect students' motivation and career aspirations. We use the results of a national survey of Australian economics students to assess the relative importance of a number of factors in the career choices for postgraduate and undergraduate students in economics. We assess the factors that make academia an unattractive career choice for females.

In the last decades, finite-element models of the middle ear have been widely used to predict the middle-ear vibration outputs. Even with the simplest linear assumption for material properties of the structures in the middle ear, these models need tens of parameters. Due to the complexities of measurements of material properties of these structures, accurate estimations of the values of most of these parameters are not possible. In this study, we benefited from the stochastic finite-element model of the middle ear we had developed in the past, to perform global sensitivity analysis. For this aim, we implemented Sobol′ sensitivity analysis which ranks the importance of all uncertain parameters and interactions among them at different frequencies. To decrease the computational costs, we found Sobol′ indices from surrogate models that we created using stochastic finite-element results and the polynomial chaos expansion method. Based on the results, the Young's modulus and thickness of the tympanic membrane, Young's modulus and damping of the stapedial annular ligaments, and the Young's modulus of ossicles are among the parameters with the greatest impacts on vibrations of the umbo and stapes footplate. Furthermore, the most significant interactions happen between the Young's modulus and thickness of the tympanic membrane.
