This paper examines the duality of dance as both art and science. It argues on the premise that only the manifestations of dance as an art form has been explored whilst its scientific manifestations have been arguably ignored. It avers that duality is seen in the processes involved in dance choreography. In doing this, it maintains that dance as an art often manifests in the intuition and creativity involved during the creation of dances while dance as science manifests itself during the execution of movements. It argues that the traditional practitioners of dance in Nigeria and Africa are generally aware of the scientific nature of dance, which they adhere to unconsciously while creating dances without knowing it has a scientific posturing. The article insists that intelligence displayed in dance choreographies attests to the above claims. The study uses syncretism and Humphrey-Weidman theory of dance composition as theoretical moorings to contend that the Agbaka dance of the Igala people of Kogi State in North Central Nigeria expresses and displays the scientific nature of dance. Consequently, the dance form is examined from the physiological, psychological and biomechanical perspectives, informing the conclusion that dance practitioners in Nigeria should engage in a conscious exploration and admittance of dance as both art and science.

When discussing the art of video games, three different contexts need to be considered: the 'high' art (video games and the art); commercial video games (video games as the art) and the fan art. Video games are a legitimate artistic medium subject to modifications and recontextualisations in the process of creating a specific experience of the player/user/audience and political action by referring to particular social problems. They represent a high technological medium that increases, with practically each new commercial game, the aesthetic potential of audio-visualperformances and includes more complex narrations and characters/avatars. A number of artists take part in their creation: designers, composers and actors. Video games are a medium through which the fans of commercial games are trying to secure their position in the contemporary technologised culture.

Some of them were at one time known throughout Dagestan.

Studije diljem Europe pokazale su da se ljudi u ranim fazama pandemije COVID-19 nisu u potpunosti pridržavali preventivnih mjera i preporuka koje su dale vlasti. Kao što je vidljivo, stope usklađenosti mogu ovisiti o mnogim različitim čimbenicima, uključujući osobine ličnosti, spol, dob, pa čak i iracionalno vjerovanje u teorije zavjere. Ovi nalazi naglašavaju heterogenost među ljudima i, u kombinaciji s uvidima iz teorije igara i eksperimentalne ekonomije, sugeriraju da bi bilo teško održati visoke stope usklađenosti i spriječiti širenje smrtonosnog virusa bez uvođenja strožih mjera koje su kasnije usvojene.

On 26 September 2014, forty-three students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers’ College disappeared from Iguala, a city in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. Two students’ bodies have been recovered, while forty-one students remain missing. In Los Angeles, mourning for the students has taken the form of what we call “anti-memorialization,” where traditional forms of memorialization are upended through informality, ephemerality, art, and the digital in order to politicize and bring attention to an injustice. While informal memorials have existed as long or longer than their formal counterparts, anti-memorialization moves these informal memorials into the contemporary reality of a digitally networked world, pushing private mourning to public activism. Among these informal efforts reflecting ongoing calls for justice, one piece, part of an exhibit sponsored by Boyle Heights-based arts organization Self Help Graphics and Art, was entitled 43: From Ayotzinapa to Ferguson. The exhibition anti-memorializes not just the forty-three students from Ayotzinapa, but victims of police brutality in the United States as well, linking the two social movements across national borders.

En México la demanda de maíces híbridos forrajeros (Zea mays L.) ha incrementado aceleradamente. El objetivo del estudio fue identificar híbridos más productivos, estables y de mayor calidad forrajera para diferentes regiones del país. En 2004 se evaluaron cuatro híbridos del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agrícolas y Pecuarias (INIFAP) y tres comerciales, en seis localidades del país con diferencias extremas en altitud y clima: Pabellón, Ags., Iguala, Gro., Chapingo, Méx., Valle del Yaqui, Son. y Torreón, Coah., primavera y verano. Se utilizó un diseño de bloques completos al azar con tres repeticiones. Se fertilizó con 180 a 240 kg ha-1 de N y 70 a 90 kg ha-1 de P y se sembró a una densidad de población de 80 mil plantas/ha. Se midió materia seca total (MST), fibra detergente neutro (FDN) y ácido (FDA), digestibilidad in vitro (DIV), proteína cruda (PC), y se estimó la producción de leche por hectárea (LEHA). Hubo interacción híbridos x localidades para MST y LEHA (P ≤ 0.05). El híbrido subtropical ‘H-376’ sobresalió en MST a través de localidades, con producciones de 17.6 a 23.0 t ha-1; también sobresalió ‘H157’ de valles altos pero sólo en localidades más favorables como Pabellón, Iguala, Torreón Primavera y Chapingo con rendimientos de 20.0 a 23.9 t ha-1. El testigo ‘ABT-7887’ fue el mejor en calidad forrajera con menor FDN y mayor DIV, y superó a ‘H-376’ en 37 y 33 g kg-1, respectivamente en promedio de ambientes. En producción de leche por hectárea sobresalieron ‘H-376’ y ‘H-157’ por su estabilidad a través de ambientes especialmente en Iguala, Pabellón, Sonora y Torreón en siembras de primavera, donde rindieron entre 11.5 y 13.8 t ha-1. El testigo ‘Z-23’ tuvo mejor respuesta en ambientes más favorables, como Sonora y Pabellón donde rindió más de 15.0 t ha-1.

Directed by Ricardo Abad and choreographed by Matthew Santamaria, Sintang Dalisay—a Filipino adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet—is often lauded for its use of the igal ethnic dance of the Sama-Badjau, a Muslim tribe located in the southern region of the Philippines. It depicts Rashiddin and Jamillia’s star-crossed love amidst a violent and ancient feud between their families. This paper discusses the process and product of interweaving performance traditions and cultures in Sintang Dalisay and how the adaptation transforms Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet from tragic to utopic. It does so in two aspects: the kinesthetic and the mythic. First, the use of the igal dance motif expresses and unearths the play’s inherently religious and celestial language. Second, the appropriation of Asian myths or beliefs—particularly of Chinese and Filipino origins—transforms and transcends the tragic ending of Romeo and Juliet’s deaths.

After a struggle of eleven years, and the loss, according to the conservative estimate of Carlos María de Bustamante, of 2000,0000 lives, Mexico awoke in September 1821 an independent nation. For months before the culmination of independence there was no doubt who would rule the nation – that is, who was the de facto chief of state, at least for the moment. Agustin de Iturbide, author of the Plan of Iguala, conceiver of the idea of the Three Guarantees that united all factions in favor of independence, chief of the Army of the Three Guarantees, signatory on Mexico's part of the Treaties of Cordoba that granted independence de jure (in Mexico's view), was the undisputed leader. Incorruptible, invincible, wise, Christian, the consummate politician, the salvation of the Church, the Protector of Spaniards in Mexico, the Hero of Iguala, the Liberator, the Father of the Nation, Iturbide had broken the yoke of the Lion of Castile. Mexicans, of all political persuasions, rallied around the demigod in a euphoria of rejoicing and hope that has no equal in the history of the country.

Pride of place is given to the correspondence of the editors, Paul Henry S.J. and Hans-Rudolf Schwyzer, with other prominent scholars of late antiquity, amongst whom are E.R. Dodds, B.S. Page, A.H. Also included in the volume are related documents consisting in personal memoirs, course handouts and extensive biographical notices of the two editors as well as of those other scholars who contributed to fostering the revival of Plotinus in the latter half of the 20th century. The main propose of this study has been to analyze how Twitter and Blogs became important media to follow Ayotzinapa terror event. This study is based on a descriptive analysis of Twitter and blogs over the Internet, which has been the principal media to cover Ayotzinapa case. For this propose has been necessary a documental analysis of Ayotzinapa case and the use of social media analytic platforms. First, Socialmention was necessary to identify the main keywords related to Ayotzinapa word. Second, Topsy social media analytic platform allowed analysis of trends over Twitter. Last, Meltwater Icerocket analytic platform was used to determine blogging trends over Internet. Keywords analyzed were: Ayotzinapa, Iguala, and Guerrero. Results suggested blogging as an important media for spreading the news event Ayotzinapa. Meanwhile, Twitter has been an important media for turning Ayotzinapa terror incident in a media event where people have joined in activism and protest movements worldwide.

Abstract The Taittiriya Upanisad constitutes chapters 7, 8, and 9 of the Taittiriya Āraiyaka, which is itself a supplement added to the Taittiriya Brahmana of the Black Yajurveda. Varenne (1968) has noted the composite character of the TU. The first chapter of the TU stands apart from the other two and is sometimes recognized as a separate Upanisad. Sayana in his commentary on the TA calls it saf!lhitopani ad, while some editions of TU call it slk opani ad. Indian editions of TU call this chapter sik a-dhyayalJ prathama valti. Beginning with Deussen (1897), most translators have called it sik avalli, making the title parallel with those of the other two chapters and thus obscuring the traditional view that the first chapter is either a separate Upanisad or at least a section standing apart from the other two. Probably combining the two titles, LV calls this chapter sik iivallyadhyiiyalJ,. The second chapter is called finandavalli or brahmavallf (sometimes combined to brahmfinandavallf), and the third chapter is entitled bhrguvallf. Taken together the two last chapters form a distinct text, and Sayana calls it viirw:iyUpanisad. That he considered it a separate text is also borne out by the fact that he places a couple of ma,igala verses at the beginning of the second chapter. In the Taittiriya Āraiyaka, these three chapters are followed by the final tenth chapter that comprises the Mahanarayana Upanisad, not included in this collection. Witzel (1977, 1979, 1980) has edited and translated the little-known text Katha-Sik a-Upanisad (KaSU) and compared it to the sik avalli: of the TU, to which it is closely related. I have given the variant readings of the KaSU in the notes.

The research problem is the influence of video games on the speech development of preschool children. The research was based on the general assumption that video games influence the speech development of preschool children. It was also based on the special assumptions that the parents of preschool children estimate that video games have different effects on the speech development of their children depending on the sex and educational level of the parents. In order to determine this, a survey was conducted in April 2023 on a sample of 122 parents of preschool children at Olga Jovičić Rita preschool in Kraljevo. The data collected by Scaler – EP-IVG-SD-CHPA ( = .676) and processed by t-test and analysis of variance showed that there is no statistically significant difference in parents' assessments of the influence of video games on their children's speech development as regards the sex of the parents: t = 1.368; df = 120; p = .547, but that there is a statistically significant difference as regards parents’ educational level: F(2; 121) = 4.331; p = .015; = .068. The results of the research are presented in the form of a conclusion and methodical implications are given, emphasizing the need to produce didactically designed video-games that will serve the purpose of speech development of preschool children. Possible implications for future research in this area are also discussed.

The presence of organic substances in soil or peloid and their concentration are very important parameters of the features and qualities of peloid. The peloid from Sutomore turned out to be particularly interesting because so far no similar research has been done with it, nor has it been used on a larger scale for the treatment of patients compared to the other two peloids from Montenegro – from Igalo and Ulcinj. As it is known that the medicinal composition of peloid is influenced by the content of organic components in it, we determined the total organic matter content in two peloids – from Sutomore and Igalo. Based on the determination of the total organic substance, it is possible to determine the content of the total organic carbon, which we also did and concluded that both peloids according to the content of organic substances are classified as peloids with a high content of organic matter.

Abstract For many nuclear power plants worldwide the operation period will be extended to 60 or 80 years in the coming years. As the operation period increases, the importance of knowledge of ageing mechanisms increases. In the framework of LTO there is limited knowledge about ageing and structural integrity of concrete structures. Knowledge about the strength of concrete structures and modelling thereof can be improved for a more complete knowledge base on ageing and degradation mechanism in nuclear facilities. Therefore, effort is required to improve the knowledge of concrete, material models and finite element modelling techniques as well as the assessment method. Recent developments have shown that ageing of civil structures receive more attention internationally (E.g. concrete degradation in bunker building Doel). Traditionally a large part of the research and development is focused on mechanical issues like piping and vessels. In order to increase the knowledge in the field of civil structures, the focus is on investigation of ageing of concrete and determining analysis methods. This paper focuses on the development of a practical assessment method for ageing of civil structures. As a first step information from international publications and other sources on civil structures ageing issues and management thereof, will be gathered. Well known international standards taking care of ageing phenomena based on problem areas and good practices are IGALL and GALL. IGALL and GALL contain information tables based on international experience. This is the starting point of the research in finding an assessment methodology for civil ageing management. It will be shown that IGALL and GALL contain very similar elements. Sorting on the AMPs results in a practical set of datasheets with summarizing information per AMP, including the underlying international experience. The datasheets are of limited size, presenting an helpful overview of the relevant structures or components, materials, environment and mechanisms. A method for civil ageing management is proposed which will be applied and developed in more detail in future research. Further research is necessary to develop a specific assessment methodology for concrete.

Summary: With various stages of social development, the way of life changed, but play remained, in all conditions, an integral part of children’s activities. Play can be a concrete and effective way to ensure the active participation of children in teaching mathematics. Learning mathematics through play and fun develops students’ interest in mathematics, develops their imagination and makes the learning process easier and more fun. This paper deals with mathematical and didactic games, their role, importance and possibilities of application in the lower grades of primary school. Some examples of mathematical and didactic games are presented, as well as the ways of their application in mathematics classes. An overview of some of the earlier research studies in the field of the use of games in mathematics classes is given.

Supplementary cementitious materials are additives that are used to improve the qualities of Portland cement while also reducing its environmental impact. The production of such blended cements relies on the regional availability of additional components. Despite the prevalence of volcanic tuffs in the Eastern Desert and South Sinai encountered in Egypt, there is a scarcity of knowledge regarding experimental research on cement manufacture. The main objective of this study is to analyze the geochemical and experimental characteristics of several volcanic tuffaceous rocks exploited as natural additional cementitious materials and their impact on the characteristics of the resulting blended cement. The partially replacement can play an important role in reducing the local environmental impacts (CO2 emissions). Various volcanic rock specimens have been collected from the Sinai (Wadi Kid) and the Eastern Desert (Gabal Umm Zarabit, Wadi Umm Khariga, Gabal Igla El-Iswid, and Abu Wassat), Egypt. The samples under study were examined for their mineralogy, petrography, and chemical composition in order to identify their specifications. In addition, a total of fifteen blended cement samples were produced by partially replacing clinker with the investigated samples. The substitution ratios used were 10%, 20%, and 25% by mass. A control mix was also designed, consisting of ordinary Portland cement without any other substances. An assessment has been conducted on the effects of partially replacing clinker with volcanic rocks on the characteristics of the resulting blended cement. The physico-mechanical parameters, including Blaine, setting time, flexural strength, and compressive strength, of the hardened blended mortars were measured at specific times (7 and 28 days). The study demonstrated that the strength of the studied blended cement mixes decreased as the fraction of the examined volcanic rocks to clinker ratio increased throughout the early stages. The highest compressive strength among the mixtures evaluated was achieved when using a 10% ratio of volcanic rocks as clinker replacement.

In the framework of LTO there is limited knowledge about ageing and structural integrity of concrete structures. Recent developments have shown that ageing of civil structures receive more attention internationally (for example concrete degradation in bunker building Doel and buried piping attention in topical peer review EU). In order to increase the knowledge in the field of civil structures, this work focusses on investigation of ageing of civil structures and determining an ageing management strategy. Knowledge of the ageing mechanisms of civil structures and especially concrete, will lead to improvement of ageing management and assessment methods of concrete. As a first step international information was gathered on civil structures ageing issues and management thereof (see PVP2019-93029). In addition a very high level assessment methodology was proposed. The goal of the project is to obtain more knowledge on ageing management of civil structures and especially concrete. It will lead to an assessment method for civil ageing management and ageing management programs dealing with the relevant mechanisms at the various locations in a practical manner. The results of this ongoing work are presented in this report. The initial proposed assessment methodology has been tested by application to the HFR research reactor. The resulting list of relevant AMPs has been verified with the outcome for another PWR with a steel containment. With this experience the assessment methodology is improved. In addition each civil SSC in the scope of the Continued Safe Operation program is linked to the relevant AMP(s). The improved, but not finalized assessment method of ageing management for civil structures can be seen in figure 2. The proposed assessment method for ageing of civil structures has been tested, compared and improved. The results indicated that the method can be used to obtain a list of plant specific AMPs. The comparison of the list of relevant AMPs for a steel containment PWR, showed similar results. What is added to the assessment method is the link to the TLAAs for civil structures. The detailing to a level of practical work instructions for the maintenance of the plant has to be made in the near future. In the near future the step will be made from a high level of IGALL AMP to a practical AMP that will deal with the relevant mechanisms at the various locations. Therefore further steps are in studying of relevant degradation mechanisms, relevant AMPs (like AMP305 [9],AMP306 [10]) and applicable literature (e.g.[21]) in combination with the practical knowledge from operation of a reactor. The international developments on ageing management of concrete will be included. It is foreseen that the future report will contain information on concrete degradation mechanisms relevant for nuclear reactors. If findings requires calculations the assessment method will be verified with the finite element modelling techniques.

As the operation period increases, the importance of knowledge of ageing mechanisms increases. What was added to the assessment method is the link to the TLAAs for civil structures. In this follow up step the transition is made from a high level of IGALL AMPs to a practical AMPs that will deal with the right mechanism at the right location. The detailing to a level of practical work instructions for the maintenance of the plant has to be made in order to make real life implementation possible. In this step studying of relevant degradation mechanisms, relevant AMPs (like IAEA AMP305 and AMP306 ) and applicable literature in combination with the practical knowledge from operation of a reactor, has taken place. The international developments on ageing management of concrete will be included. The goal of the project is to obtain more knowledge on ageing management of civil structures and especially concrete. It will lead to an assessment method for civil ageing management and ageing management programs dealing with the relevant mechanisms at the various locations in a practical manner. The results of this ongoing work are presented in this report. For the research reactor all SSCs in scope of the Continued Safe Operation could be linked to the relevant AMP(s) and a resulting set of plant specific AMPs for civil ageing management was obtained. Including the international developments, literature and guidelines, a more general applicable list was created (Table 5 through Table 13). The conclusion is that Figure 2 represents a practical method for obtaining a set of plant specific civil AMPs ready for implementation. For representation in this paper the final outcome is given in as a generic list of actions for a generic reactor (Table 5 through Table 13). In these tables the relevant SSCs, ageing mechanisms and actions are listed. The tables represent an generic list of actions for civil ageing management that might others help develop their ageing management program. Future steps are shifting the focus from the general but practical assessment methodology to finite element modelling techniques for concrete. The assessment criteria for concrete (e.g. in ASME III, ASME XIII or Eurocode) will be investigated and investigation on the modelling of the concrete for ageing are planned.
