The article presents the results of breeding work for the creation of new high-yielding varieties of bitter-aromatic hops with a high content of alpha-acids carried out in 2004-2020 in the Chuvash Republic on gray forest soils. The work was done by individual clonal selection of the best hop plants from the collection nursery. Seven high-yielding breeding numbers with a high alpha-acid content were selected from the collection nursery. After passing through all the stages of study in each of the appropriate nurseries from seven numbers, two clones were selected to create new varieties. Data were obtained on the parameters of the initial clonal breeding material, depending on weather conditions and the age of plantings. The selected clones (1-17 bitter-aromatic type and 6-26 bitter type) correspond to the specified indicators: collection of raw hops is not less than 4.0 kg from a bush, the duration of the growing period is 100-120 days, the content of alpha acids is not less than 5.0 %. Documentation on clone 1-17 was sent to the State Variety Commission for registration of a new variety Salampi. The variety is characterized by stable performance and quality indicators. The productivity of the variety is 30.0 c/ha (4.0 kg/bush) with a content of alphaacids of 9.3 %. The Podvyazny standard variety has 26.4 c/ha (3.5 kg/bush), the content of alpha-acids is 8.8 %. Testing of clone 6-26 will be continued to obtain complete and objective data.

In this article, Valerie Patterson employs what she refers to as “lyrical visioning” – a useful tool for garnering support for claims that may or may not be true – to review several successful strategies used by the Bush administration to secure support for the invasion of Iraq. By assessing the utility of “the hook” that in Hip Hop music and Opera is used to “grab” people and make them like or remember the melody, and in President Bush’s political rhetoric was used to reconstruct and repackage tactics that can be perceived as deceptive by some, the author argues that the repetitive utterance of certain words and concepts could explain the acceptance by many Americans that the WMD claim was a truthful assertion and thus validated and legitimized the decision to engage in a preemptive strike against the people of Iraq.

The paper presents the results of 2018-2020 research on the study of 248 Russian and foreign varieties of the collection of common hop (Humulus lupulus L.) in order to identify promising ones with a complex of agronomic traits for developing new varieties adapted to the natural and climatic conditions of the hop-growing regions of the Russian Federation. The research was carried out in the conditions of the Chuvash Republic on dark gray forest heavy loamy soil. Sixty hop varieties in the early-ripening, mid-early and mid-ripening groups with the yields above 26.3 c/ha (weighing more than 3.5 kg of raw cones from one bush) were identified. High-yielding varieties prevailed in the mid-ripening group of the collection (67 %). The adaptability of the collection varieties to natural and climatic conditions was evaluated on the third, fourth and fifth years of the hop plantings (in three tabs). There have been identified six varieties, which in some years of growing exceeded the control variety Podvyazny according to adaptability coefficients (1.23-1.23-1.15): early-ripening English variety Golden Star (1.58-1.37-1.03); mid-early Russian variety Zvenigovsky (1.72-1.16-1.07); mid-ripening Russian variety Serebryanka Kalistovskaya (1.47-1.28-1.17), Guslitsky (1.50-1.26-1.23), Ukrainian Kruglyak-Seryak (1.76-1.44-1.18), Group 4 (1.80-1.80-1.31). The most consistently high results were shown by Group 4, Guslitsky, Kruglyak-Seryak. High-resinous varieties with a high content of alpha acids belonging to different types of hops were noted specifically. According to the complex of agronomic traits and resistance to false powdery mildew, 19 collection varieties have been identified.

Hop Tests (unipodal horizontal jumps) have been recommended as one of the reliable assessment tests when allowing a return to competition for a sportsperson after an anterior cruciate ligament injury1,2,3,4. Currently, comparison is made of the results with the contralateral limb through the symmetry index, a method which might not provide sufficient security upon the return to competitive sport5. Hop tests can be used in preseason to gain reference values prior to a possible injury. The objective of this review is to analise the scientific literature such as the F-Marc6 (reference manual of FIFA) to confirm whether include said tests in preseason for football teams. A search was conducted in the Pubmed y Cochrane databases (17/04/17) with the search terms “Hop Test”, “Football”, “Soccer”, and “Preseason”. Articles in English and Spanish were both accepted. Articles excluded were those that did not make reference to the knee, to football, and those that did not conduct tests during preseason. From a total of 33 articles, 4 with these search criteria were included, 5 articles were added trough the bibliography of other studies, and the F-Marc manual was analised. 4 of the articles used the hop tests in preseason for some type of study, of which 3 were used as part of a prospective assessment for the season. On the other hand, the F-Marc does not consider Hop Tests as an assessment test. Australian tropical plants have been a rich source of food (bush food) and medicine to the first Australians (Aboriginal people), who are believed to have lived for more than 50,000 years. Plants such as spreading sneezeweed (Centipeda minima), goat’s foot (Ipomoea pes-caprae), and hop bush (Dodonaea viscosa and D. polyandra) are a few popular Aboriginal medicinal plants. Thus far, more than 900 medicinal plants have been recorded in the tropical region alone, and many of them are associated with diverse ethnomedicinal uses that belong to the traditional owners of Aboriginal people. In our effort to find anti-inflammatory lead compounds in collaboration with Aboriginal communities from their medicinal plants, we reviewed 78 medicinal plants used against various inflammation and inflammatory-related conditions by Aboriginal people. Out of those 78 species, we have included only 45 species whose crude extracts or isolated pure compounds showed anti-inflammatory properties. Upon investigating compounds isolated from 40 species (for five species, only crude extracts were studied), 83 compounds were associated with various anti-inflammatory properties. Alphitolic acid, Betulinic acid, Malabaric acid, and Hispidulin reduced proinflammatory cytokines and cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and 2) with IC50 values ranging from 11.5 to 46.9 uM. Other promising anti-inflammatory compounds are Brevilin A (from Centipeda minima), Eupalestin, and 5′-methoxy nobiletin (from Ageratum conyzoides), Calophyllolide (from Calophyllum inophyllum), and Brusatol (from Brucea javanica). D. polyandra is one example of an Aboriginal medicinal plant from which a novel anti-inflammatory benzoyl ester clerodane diterpenoid compound was obtained (compound name not disclosed), and it is in the development of topical medicines for inflammatory skin diseases. Medicinal plants in the tropics and those associated with indigenous knowledge of Aboriginal people could be a potential alternative source of novel anti-inflammatory therapeutics.

Purpose: The purpose of the paper was to review the growth of sheng language and its effect on media strategies of market targeting in Kenya.Methodology: The paper looks at how sheng is being used by corporate companies to air their advertisements hence change of strategy in order to fit in the youth market. The paper attempted to look how politicians use sheng to reach the public youths during campaigns. The paper also looks at how the sheng can influence the public either positively or negatively by the way they convey the messages or issues especially the messages uttered by the politicians. The paper identified documentary evidence in the form of already completed studies that focused on the growth of sheng language and its effect on media strategies of market targeting in Kenya.Results: The findings indicate that sheng has greatly spread in the urban centers in the country like a bush fire and therefore the company’s need to change their marketing strategies especially if the products they make are used by the youths. Findings also indicate that slang in developed economies is mostly used by peers or people of the same age group because it’s stylish and secretive.Unique contribution to theory, practice and policy: Due to its widespread use, ‘Sheng’ has been in the centre of discourse among scholars and researchers in Kenya. The code has also caught the attention of the print and electronic media especially in advertisements, official health warnings on HIV/AIDS, and other commercials. It is also gaining prominence in music and popular youth culture where popular musicians like GidiGidiMajiMaji and those who specialize in hip hop music like Kalamashaka, Nameless, Mr. Nice and Darling P. often blend the various ethnic languages, Kiswahili and English words in their compositions. The paper recommends that further studies should be done to evaluate if growth of sheng language and its effect on media strategies of market targeting in Kenya has helped in achieving positive results as targeted by different organizations. For example, it may be important to evaluate the effects of using sheng in Safaricom advertisements before the adverts and after the adverts were aired. The case study also recommends that further studies be carried out to determine whether use of sheng has brought unity among the youths and if this language can be useful in fostering national cohesion.

Single-hop broadcasting is a basic information dissemination method. For broadcasting method, wireless channel reservation and channel state indication are two factors effecting information dissemination performance. In this paper, existing channel reservation and channel state indication mechanisms were studied, the limitations of them were analyzed, and a single–hop broadcasting method based on busy tone is proposed. With OPNET network simulation platform, the proposed broadcasting method is modeled and implemented. Experimental results show that the proposed method performs well.

Jaringan ini biasanya diimplementasikan pada perangkat keras 802.11. WMN terdiri dari beberapa node yang membentuk backbone jaringan. Node-node tersebut mampu mengkonfigurasi secara otomatis dan me-rekonfigurasi secara dinamis untuk menjaga konektivitas jaringan. WMN banyak diterapkan untuk mengatasi masalah keterbatasan jangkauan access point pada wireless LAN. Untuk mendapatkan kinerja yang optimal pada WMN diperlukan teknik pemaangan hop pada WMN. Perancangan pemasnagan Hop pada ruang bertingkat dan bersekat, berbeda dengan pemasangan pada aula atau tempat tanpa sekat. Dengan jumlah router maksimal 8 buah, peneltian ini mengggunakan skema jumlah ganjil dan genap dalam pengujiannya. Previous research has shown that hops contain enzymes able to hydrolyze unfermentable dextrins into fermentable sugars when added during the dry-hopping process. In the presence of live yeast, these additional fermentable sugars can lead to an over-attenuation of the beer; a phenomenon known as “hop creep”. This study attempts to analyze the effect of different Saccharomyces yeast species and strains on hop creep, with the intent to find an ability to mitigate the effects of dry-hop creep by using a specific yeast. Thirty different yeast species and strains were chosen from commercial and academic collections and propagated for pilot fermentations. Brews were performed at the Anheuser-Busch Research Brewery (1.8 hL, 10 °P, 20 IBU) at UC Davis and split to 40 L cylindroconical fermenters, with one fermenter in each yeast pair receiving 10 g/L Centennial hop pellets towards the end of fermentation. Standard analytical measurements were performed over the course of fermentation, with real degrees of fermentation (RDF) and extract measured on an Anton Paar alcolyzer. In order to preemptively determine the amount of hop creep to be experienced with each unknown fermentation, bench-top fermentations with 20 g/L dry-hops were performed concurrently and compared to the pilot scale fermentations. RDF was significantly higher (p < 0.01) on dry-hopped than non-dry-hopped fermentations beginning two days post dry-hopping to the end of fermentation, with the exceptions of SafAle™ BE-134, a S. cerevisiae var. diastaticus, and UCDFST 11-510, a S. mikatae. No apparent correlation between flocculation and increased RDF was shown in dry-hopped treatments. pH was significantly different between the dry-hopped and non-hopped fermentations (p < 0.05 one day post dry-hop, p < 0.01 for all subsequent days); this may have impacted on additional attenuation. No yeasts in this study indicated their use for mitigation of dry-hop creep, but this is a first look at beer fermentation for some of the chosen yeasts. The results also present a new perspective on how hop creep varies in fermentation.

The incidence and spread of Hop latent virus (HpLV), Hop mosaic virus (HpMV), and Apple mosaic virus (ApMV) in nurseries and gardens established with elite material (certified free of HpLV, HpMV, and ApMV by serological testing), and the effect of these viruses on production of 2 newly adopted hop (Humulus lupulus) cultivars were assessed in Tasmania, Australia. Infection by HpLV in Agate was associated with significant losses in dry cone yield of 40–70% compared with the yield of elite plants. Infection by HpLV in Agate was also associated with a 44% reduction in alpha acid levels and the cohumulone proportion of the alpha acids. However, in the second year, no significant reductions in levels of alpha acid and beta acid contents, or in the ratio of alpha to beta acids were detected. Plants infected by HpLV were also significantly shorter than elite plants in both seasons. No significant effects on growth or yield were detected for HpMV in Agate or for any of the virus combinations tested in Super Pride. The incidences and spread of HpLV, HpMV, and ApMV were consistently higher in Agate than in Super Pride and the incidences of all these viruses were higher at Forrester River than at Bushy Park and Gunns Plains. The presence of viruses in nurseries containing material propagated from elite mother plants is also of concern and may be contributing to high levels of virus incidence found soon after establishment. When combined, this information can be used to design control strategies for the Australian hop industry for these cultivars.

To date, her hop farming business had not been impacted by the South African Government’s COVID-19 lockdowns that impacted the sale of alcoholic beverages. Recent research has led to increasingly sophisticated conjectures as to the roles that genetic heritage, prior experience, and environmental context play in the production and maintenance of complex behaviors. The field of evolutionary psychology was born of such conjectures (Stanley, 1895) and now serves as a niche for a growing number of researchers (Buss, 1995; Kenrick, 1994). One of the more provocative lines of experimental research to emerge from this alembic derives from the linkage of evolutionary theories of human mate selection with definitions of physical attractiveness based on somatic characteristics that simultaneously signal attractiveness and predict reproductive potential (Buss, 1989). The waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) has been purportedly demonstrated to be a robust example of just such an invariant perceptual cue (e.g., Henss, 1995; Singh, 1993a). Here, we report that judgments of attractiveness and fecundity can be either unrelated or related, positively or negatively, to the WHR depending on waist size, hip size, and weight, and are thus inconsistent with the evolutionary argument that human physical attractiveness is fundamentally a sign of mate value.

Growing location is known to affect the metabolite content and functionality of wild harvested fruits. Terminalia ferdinandiana, commonly known as Kakadu plum (KP), is among the most commercially important native Australian bush foods. Therefore, we evaluated the composition and in vitro bioactivity of aqueous acidified ethanol (AAE) and water extracts prepared from KP fruit wild harvested in the Northern Territory (NT) and Western Australia (WA). Compositional analysis included vitamin C, total ellagic acid (TEA), and total phenolic content (TPC), while in vitro bioactivity was assessed through anti-inflammatory (RAW 264.7 macrophages) activity and cell viability (Hep G2) assay. The IC50 of the extracts ranged from 33.3 to 166.3 µg/mL for NO inhibition and CC50 from 1676 to 7337 µg/mL for Hep G2 cell viability inhibition. The AAE KP fruit extracts from the NT exhibited potent anti-inflammatory activity and impacted Hep G2 cell viability more than other extracts, most likely due to TEA (3189 mg/100 g dry weight (DW)), vitamin C (180.5 mg/g DW) and TPC (196 mg GAE/g DW) being higher than in any other extract. Overall, the findings of the present study are promising for using KP fruit and derived products in functional foods, nutraceuticals, or dietary supplements.

Purpose – The hip fracture “best practice tariff” (BPT) came into effect in April 2010. It advocated two key improvements: surgery within 36hrs of arrival in the emergency department; and multi-disciplinary care directed by ortho-geriatrician from admission to discharge. The aim of this paper is to look at the 36 hours to operation target and its implications for orthopaedic department trauma service staff in a busy district general hospital, and to evaluate the measures implemented to meet the target. Design/methodology/approach – Trauma-list data, collected from a theatre management system, was compared with trauma patients placed on elective and emergency lists, before and after designated daily trauma lists were implemented. Findings – After a designated daily trauma list was introduced, a significant rise (from 56 per cent to 85 per cent) became evident in the proportion of patients operated on within 36hrs, between November 2010 to February 2011, while hip fracture cases managed on the elective list fell from 24 per cent to 17 per cent. Practical implications – Despite adding a half-day trauma list, the trauma service has insufficient capacity to achieve the new BPT for all hip fracture patients in the hospital. Therefore, there is a significant knock-on effect for managing patient overspill on elective services. Will the significant changes in service provision designed to achieve this BPT be cost effective? Originality/value – This paper aims to answer how busy department staff address an issue that professionals in every English hospital are facing.

Setiap protokol routing memiliki algoritma yang berbeda, pada penelitian ini dibahas tentang protokol routing yang bersifat distance vector dan hybrid routing, khusus penelitian ini akan dibahas tentang protokol routing yang bersifat proprietary.Skenario yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan komunikasi VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), dengan menggunakan 10 buah router, 16 host yang berkomunikasi satu dengan lainnya pada saat yang bersamaan, kemudian juga dilakukan scenario pemutusan jaringan untuk melihat cara protokol routing meng-update tabel routingnya, juga akan dilakukan perbandingan antara performansi antara IPv4 dan IPv6.Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil protokol routing EIGRP dibandingkan dengan IGRP memiliki nilai performansi dari sisi konvergensi jaringan, jumlah hop, paket yang hilang (traffic dropped), delay paket dan throughput yang lebih baik.

Background: While ACL reconstruction (ACLR) in skeletally immature patients was traditionally delayed until physeal closure, the development of techniques that avoid physeal disturbance have allowed surgical intervention with minimization of growth compromise. Previous reports have shown excellent patient outcomes and functional stability with low re-tear rates at short and mid-term follow-up in one of the most widely used physeal-sparing techniques, the combined extra-articular/intra-articular modified-MacIntosh ACL reconstruction with Iliotibial band autograph (ACLR-ITB). However, there is a lack of evidence regarding the kinematic performance of the reconstruction, which has been referred to as ‘non-anatomic’, as well as the effect of time on function and effectiveness. This component of a single-site, prospective, cross-sectional study of ACLR-ITB patients at different times following their reconstruction, between 1 and 20 years post-operatively, was designed to compare the sports performance-based features of the ACLR-ITB knee to the contralateral, uninjured contralateral knee, including strength, dynamic balance, and functional hop testing, as well as patient-reported functional outcome measures and activity scores. The primary hypothesis is that similar function will be found, between the ACLR-ITB and Non-ACL of individuals, and that the degree of similarity will be maintained with increasing age, growth, and/or time from reconstruction. Methods: Patients who underwent an ACLR-ITB between 1-20 years prior to study initiation were identified from the surgical database of three high-volume surgeons at a tertiary care pediatric hospital. Exclusion criteria were major injury or surgery on the contralateral knee at any time point, or on the ACLR-ITB knee since the time of reconstruction. The resulting study cohort of 40 subjects participated in a single day of testing at a specialized sports injury prevention center. Evaluation consisted of isometric and isokinetic strength (quadriceps, hamstring, hip abductor, hamstring: quadriceps ratio), dynamic Y-balance, and single leg hop testing, with the limb symmetry index (LSI) tabulated to allow for comparisons between knees. Patient-reported functional outcomes and activity level were recorded by Pedi-IKDC and HSS-Pedi FABS questionnaires, respectively. For the comparisons between knees, the LSI values minus 100 were compared to 0 using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Additionally, equivalence analysis using two one-sided paired t-tests was applied to further support comparison of the two limbs. The LSI-100 measures were tested to examine equivalency between the two limbs using a margin of equivalence of 8 (a difference less than 8 was not considered clinically important). The magnitude of the relationship between test results and time was assessed using Pearson correlation coefficients (r). Results: The 40 study subjects had a mean age of 10.6 years (range 6-14) at time of reconstruction and 18.0 years (range: 9-30) at time of testing. Time between ACLR and time of testing ranged from 1-17 years with 8 patients beyond 10 years (Table 1). Completed Pedi-IKDC and HSS-Pedi FABS resulted in mean scores of 96 (range: 79-100) and 22 (range 0-30), respectively. The outlier subject who reported an athletic activity level of ‘0’ attributed the low score to a busy career in construction. Mean LSI for the single leg hop was 99.2% (p=0.727) and 98.4% (p=0.045) for dynamic Y-balance. Of the isometric and isokinetic strength tests, the three major muscle groups (hip abductors (LSI: 97.9%, p=0.207), quadriceps (LSI: 97.9%, p=0.260) hamstring (LSI: 102.6%, p=0.264)) showed no significant differences. Hamstring to quadriceps ratio for both limbs showed a mean value of 0.5. The equivalence analysis of LSI minus 100 confirmed equivalency, that the measures for the two limbs are close enough so that the reconstructed limb cannot be considered superior or inferior to the native limb (all p<0.05). No correlation between scores and time from reconstruction was observed, other than an expectable decline in HSS-Pedi FABS activity scores (r=-0.37, p=0.018) and improvement in hip abductor LSI (r=0.36, p=0.027) with increasing time from surgery. Conclusion / Significance: Similar to other long-term follow-up studies following ACLR, the current study demonstrated expectably decreasing activity with increasing patient age and time from ACLR-ITB. However, mean activity scores and functional outcome measures in this cohort are superior to age-based normative values, with outcome scores showing no decline in excellent knee function over time, up to 17 years following ACLR-ITB. Moreover, strength and functional hop testing show no clinically significant differences between the uninjured and reconstructed knees after at least 1 year, regardless of time from reconstruction. Equivalence in the measures between the two knees was shown for all LSI measures. The reported ‘non-anatomic’ features of the ACLR-ITB procedure do not appear to translate into clinically meaningful limitations in knee performance and function, which remain absent over time. Each paper has been deemed of sufficient quality and importance to warrant publication in The Lancet or the New England Journal of Medicine. Although ‘premier’ journals, they only occationally contain orthopaedic studies and thus may not be routinely read by the busy orthopaedic/surgical clinician of any grade. It is therefore our intention with this present article to accurately summarize and combine the results of all three papers, presenting, in our opinion, the most important clinically relevant facts. The conclusion will provide the garment pattern making experience for clothing enterprises, and it will provide data basis for garment CAD technology.

Playboy centerfolds were assumed to represent cultural images of women. Greater numbers of fetish symbols were strongly associated with greater anatomical femaleness in centerfolds, supporting the psychoanalytic hypothesis that fetishes devalue women to alleviate the anxiety aroused by anatomical femaleness. A learning theory explanation of fetishes was not supported. Anatomical femaleness of models, measured by bust, hip, and waist size, decreased, in that from 1959 to 1970 models became decreasingly voluptuous, then using a second measure of anatomical femaleness, increased, in that from 1971 to 1985 models became increasingly genitally explicit. Fetish symbols decreased and then increased in corresponding fashion. Footwear most unambiguously symbolized fetishes.

Abstract Our study presents a new pattern-making approach that is composed of three major steps: to establish the new torso classification; to improve the pattern shaping method; to solve the problem of misfit of female dresses. New additional measurements were obtained from full bust, waist and hip circumferences and divided between front and back parts separately from 3D body scanning data. By creating 8 new torso subtypes Y1, Y2, A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2, which reflect the body characteristics and torso morphology through distribution of bust girth between the front and the back, we have developed the Chinese female torso classification. On the basis of the new classification and the Japanese method of pattern block drafting, we improved the method of calculation of waist darts and the shaping of two kinds of female dresses: first kind doesn’t have the horizontal waist seam (one-piece dress) and second kind has the waist horizontal seam (two-pieces dress containing from the top and the skirt). The new torso subtypes and new pattern block shaping approach are taken into attention as the body characteristics will significantly improve the quality of clothes. New method of pattern pieces shaping in according with the characteristic features of a 3D virtual avatar allows to integrate this virtual pattern-generating approach into the pattern-making systems.

Background: Hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) affects approximately 1.5% of UK inpatients. As well as leading to significant morbidity and mortality, HAP increases burden on hospitals by lengthening hospital stay. At a district general hospital in Kent, a quality improvement project (QIP) was designed that introduced simple preventive measures that could be implemented by ward nurses and allied health professionals. Methods: Three audit cycles studying a total of 222 inpatients on elderly care wards were undertaken over a 6-month period to assess staff compliance at various stages of the project, with interventions between each cycle. Actions included raising bedheads to 30°, sitting patients out of bed for meals, discouraging use of drinking straws, and regular mouth care. Results: Overall, improvements were seen in three of the measures. Considering the percentage of patients, there was a 23% increase in patients with bedheads >30°, 21% increase in use of adult feeding cups rather than straws, and 26% rise in patients sitting out of bed for meals. Conclusion: The main objective of this QIP was to show that these simple yet potentially life-saving interventions are easy to implement on a busy ward, and the results have shown this to be true.

Pengukuran tegangan sisa paduan ZrNbMoGe dengan variasi komposisi unsur Ge telah dilakukan di PTBIN-BATAN. Bahan paduan disintesa via proses peleburan dalam tungku arc-melting yang di flaping hingga 4 kali. Bahan baku yang berupa Zr sponge, serpihano Mo, kawat Nb dan cuplikan Ge dilelehkan pada temperatur lebih dari 1850 C dengan atmosfir gas argon. Tiga buah spesimen berhasil dibuat; satu buah ingot zirkonium murni (ZG0) dan dua buah ingot paduan ZrNbMoGe dengan kandungan unsur Ge 1%wt (ZG1) dan 3%wt (ZG2). Spesimen ini kemudian diambil (running) pola difraksinya dengan instrumen difraktometer serbuk resolusi tinggi (HRPD) yang memiliki panjang gelombang 1,8195Å di Balai Spektrometri Neutron. Berdasarkan masukan parameter awal tertentu, difraktogram kemudian diolah dengan perangkat lunak Rietveld untuk mendapatkan parameter kisi dan parameter profil spesimen uji. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa paduan ZrNbMoGe memiliki empat buah fasa yakni: Zr berstruktur heksagonal (hcp), Zr3Ge berstruktur tetragonal (bct), ZrMo2 berstruktur kubik (bcc) dan ZrGe berstruktur ortorombik. The raw materials were melted at higher than 1850C in arc-furnace by 4 times flapping and argonised to have ingots free of oxidation. Three specimens were made; pure zirconium ingot (ZG0) and ZrNbMoGe ingots with composition of Ge 1%wt (ZG1) and 3%wt (ZG2). To obtain diffraction profiles, the specimens were measured by using high resolution powder diffractometer (HRPD) with 1,8195Å wavelength in the Neutron Spectrometry Laboratory. The data parameters were calculated by Rietveld refinements methode and analyzed. The results show that ZrNbMoGe alloys comprise of hexagonal (Zr), tetragonal (Zr3Ge), cubic (ZrMo2) and ortorombic (ZrGe) structures. Each phase tends to have different lattice strains, but the residuals tend to positive (Zr and ZrGe) or negative (Zr3Ge and ZrMo2) stresses.The hydrostatic stresses in ZrNbMoGe with 1%wt and 3%wt Ge are 1401.14 GPa and -771.77 GPa respectively.Keywords : ZrNbMoGe alloy, Residual stresses, Neutron diffraction.

Abstract Introduction Despite many significant changes as a result of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, and reductions in overall trauma workload, patients with fragility hip fractures continued to present to hospital. As we plan for ongoing service provision during future waves of the pandemic, valuable lessons can be learned from patients that have been treated surgically during the “first wave.” Methods All patients admitted to our center (a busy District General Hospital in London, United Kingdom) with a hip fracture during a 13-week period representing the initial rise (“United Kingdom first wave”) in COVID-19 cases, from February 17th to May 17th, 2020 (study group) were compared with hip fracture patients from the equivalent 13-week period in February to May 2019 (control group). The primary outcome was 30-day mortality, and additional information was collected in terms of length of stay (LOS), SARS-CoV-2 antigen testing, and cause of death. Results During the COVID-19 study period, 69 patients were admitted with a hip fracture, compared with 70 patients in the control group (p = 0.949). There was no significant difference in 30-day mortality between the two groups (5.8 vs. 7.1%, p = 0.747). Mean LOS was shorter in the COVID-19 period compared with the control group (11.6 vs. 19.6 days, p <0.001, effect size 0.572).Forty-six patients (66.7%) had a SARS-CoV-2 antigen swab test, as testing was not available in the early period, and 10 patients (14.5%) tested positive. None of the patients, who presented before the antigen testing was available, had clinical suspicion of COVID-19 retrospectively. Two “COVID-19 positive” patients (20%) died within 30 days of admission. Conclusion We report reassuring short-term results demonstrating no statistically significant difference in the 30-day mortality rate of hip fracture patients admitted during the United Kingdom's first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic compared to the equivalent period in the previous year. Hip fracture incidence remained stable, and LOS was reduced, likely due to recent departmental changes as well as a drive to discharge patients quickly during the pandemic. We agree with existing reports that elderly hip fracture patients with COVID-19 have a higher risk of perioperative mortality, however, our results suggest that overall mortality for the whole hip fracture population was similar to the previous year, in which deaths were more commonly attributed to respiratory infections associated with other pathogens. Further work may be needed to evaluate the outcomes during subsequent waves of the pandemic as mutations in the virus and conditions may affect outcomes.

Introduction Advances in medical science are helping to break down the barriers to surgery. In the near future, neonatal or in utero operations will become the standard for the treatment of defects in the human motor system. In order to carry out such procedures properly, detailed knowledge of fetal anatomy is necessary. It must be presented in an attractive way not only for anatomists but also for potential clinicians who will use this knowledge in contact with young patients. This work responds to this demand and presents the anatomy of the superior gluteal nerve in human fetuses in an innovative way. The aim of this work is to determine the topography and morphometry of the superior gluteal nerve in the prenatal period. We chose the superior gluteal nerve as the object of our study because of its clinical significance—for the practice of planning and carrying out hip surgery and when performing intramuscular injections. Material and methods The study was carried out on 40 human fetuses (20 females and 20 males) aged from 15 to 29 weeks (total body length v-pl from 130 to 345 mm). Following methods were used: anthropological, preparatory, image acquisition with a digital camera, computer measurement system Scion for Windows 4.0.3.2 Alpha and Image J (accuracy up to 0.01 mm without damaging the unique fetal material) and statistical methods. Results The superior gluteal nerve innervates three physiologically significant muscles of the lower limb’s girdle: gluteus medius muscle, gluteus minimus muscle and tensor fasciae latae muscle. In this study the width of the main trunk of the nerve supplying each of these three muscles was measured and the position of the nerve after leaving the suprapiriform foramen was observed. A unique typology of the distribution of branches of the examined nerve has been created. The bushy and tree forms were distinguished. There was no correlation between the occurrence of tree and bushy forms with the body side (p > 0.05), but it was shown that the frequency of the occurrence of the bushy form in male fetuses is significantly higher than in female fetuses (p < 0.01). Proportional and symmetrical nerve growth dynamics were confirmed and no statistically significant sexual dimorphism was demonstrated (p > 0.05). Conclusions The anatomy of the superior gluteal nerve during prenatal period has been determined. We have identified two morphological forms of it. We have observed no differences between right and left superior gluteal nerve and no sexual dimorphism. The demonstrated high variability of terminal branches of the examined nerve indicates the risk of neurological complications in the case of too deep intramuscular injections and limits the range of potential surgical interventions in the gluteal region. The above research may be of practical importance, for example for hip surgery.

The study was conducted to evaluate the effect of planting geometry and training on growth and seed yield of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) using cultivar Solan Lalima during Kharif 2013 at Experimental Farm of Department of Seed Science and Technology, Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (H.P.). The treatments comprised of four training levels i.e. Y1 (single stem), Y2 (double stem), Y3 (unpruned with horizontal string) and Y4 (unpruned bush stakes (control)) and eight plant densities viz. S1 (60×15 cm), S2 (60+30×15 cm), S3 (60×30 cm), S4 (60+30×30 cm), S5 (90×15 cm), S6 (90+30×15 cm), S7 (90×30 cm) and S8 (90+30×30 cm). Analysis of variance showed that the treatment combination Y1S7 (single stem and plant spaced at 90×30 cm) resulted in maximum ripe fruit length and width (5.86 cm and 5.06 cm, respectively), maximum number of seeds/fruit (110.67), minimum days to ripe fruit harvest (71.00) and maximum harvest duration (59.84 days) but gave the low seed yield. The combination Y2S5 (double stem and 90×15 cm) resulted highest seed yield i.e. 519.71 kg per hectare. Therefore, planting density S5 (90x15 cm) in combination with training system Y2 (double stem) may be recommended for commercial seed production of tomato.

Background: The Prevalence of metabolic syndrome is increasing in perimenopausal women. BMI, waist-hip ratio (WHR) and lipids are important factors for controlling metabolic syndrome. The Baduanjin exercise is a traditional Chinese exercise that promotes the integration of physical and mental health, and it is easy to practice at home and fit for busy perimenopausal women. However, the health effects needed to be evaluated.Aim: The purpose of this quasi-experimental research was to evaluate the effects, after twelve weeks of practicing Baduanjin exercise.Methods: This study was conducted at two Buddhism painting clubs, using a parallel-design, control trial recruiting perimenopausal women. There were three instruments: (1) BMI, (2) Waist-Hip Ratio, (3) Lipids—HDL and LDL. The intervention effects from the study baseline to a twelve weeks follow-up were estimated using T-test to evaluate the effectiveness of Baduanjin exercise. The Baduanjin exercise intervention included one-on-one teaching and telephone follow-up to help women practice Baduanjin exercise of 10-15 minutes twice per day for twelve weeks at home. Result: A total of 54 women aged 40 to 60 were recruited from two Buddhism painting clubs. Twenty-seven women were in the experimental group, while 27 women were in the control group. Positive effects were found after 12 weeks doing Baduanjin exercise of 10-15 minutes twice per day at home. In the experimental group, women improved their health by significantly decreasing BMI, increasing HDL, decreasing LDL and more slowly increasing WHR compared with the control group. Conclusion: Baduanjin exercise is a good home exercise to suggest perimenopausal women to improve their BMI, waist-hip ratio and lipid

Objectives1) To investigate patient and healthcare provider (HCP) knowledge, attitudes and barriers to handover and healthcare communication during inpatient care. 2) To explore potential interventions for improving the storage and transfer of healthcare information.DesignQualitative study comprising 41 semi-structured, individual interviews and a thematic analysis using the Framework Method with analyst triangulation.SettingThree public hospitals in Himachal Pradesh and Kerala, India.ParticipantsParticipants included 20 male (n=10) and female (n=10) patients with chronic non-communicable disease (NCD) and 21 male (n=15) and female (n=6) HCPs. Purposive sampling was used to identify patients with chronic NCDs (cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, diabetes or hypertension) and HCPs.ResultsPatient themes were (1) public healthcare service characteristics, (2) HCP to patient communication and (3) attitudes regarding medical information. HCP themes were (1) system factors, (2) information exchange practices and (3) quality improvement strategies. Both patients and HCPs recognised public healthcare constraints that increased pressure on hospitals and subsequently limited consultation times. Systemic issues reported by HCPs were a lack of formal handover systems, training and accessible hospital-based records. Healthcare management communication during admission was inconsistent and lacked patient-centredness, evidenced by varying reports of patient information received and some dissatisfaction with lifestyle advice. HCPs reported that the duty of writing discharge notes was passed from senior doctors to interns or nurses during busy periods. A nurse reported providing predominantly verbal discharge instructions to patients. Patient-held medical documents facilitated information exchange between HCPs, but doctors reported that they were not always transported. HCPs and patients expressed positive views towards the idea of introducing patient-held booklets to improve the organisation and transfer of medical documents.ConclusionsHandover and healthcare communication during chronic NCD inpatient care is currently suboptimal. Structured information exchange systems and HCP training are required to improve continuity and safety of care during critical transitions such as referral and discharge. Our findings suggest that patient-held booklets may also assist in enhancing handover and patient-centred practices.

This study aims to investigate the anthropometric feature of young women aged between 18 and 25 from Northeastern China, and compare the difference between the young Northeastern China women and the national adult females. More than 400 young Northeastern China women were measured, and the body data were collected by mix-measurement of 3D scanner and manual method, and the main sizes were extracted to descript the total anthropometric characterizes. The high mean value of the Northeastern young women is 162.3 CM, which is 5.75 CM higher than the national adult females. In the high direction, the other mean values of the samples are variously higher than the national adult females. Overall, the young Northeastern China women are taller than the national adult females and well proportioned. In the width direction, the mean values of bust, waist and neck of the 18-25 years old young women are larger than the national adult females, except the hip.

In this work we explain a strange quantum phenomenon in biology that the European Robin uses to navigate. The bird’s brain contains a chemical called cryptochromes which has two of its electrons entangled through collision with photons. These two electrons hop between singlet and triplet states. This hopping is sensitive to the earth’s magnetic field causing different signals to be transferred to its brain. It is believed that these birds use quantum entanglement for their navigations. We also discuss the importance of this phenomenon in trying to find the origin of life. We also explain the view of some who believe that quantum field is well entrenched in the origin of life and that we have to look for a quantum self-replicator that can repeat itself.Hasil penelitian ini mencoba menjelaskan fenomena kuantum yang aneh pada ranah biologi dimana burung robin eropa bernavigasi menggunakannya. Otak burung tersebut mengandung material kimia yang disebut dengan cryptochromes yang mempunyai dua buah elektron yang terjebak dalam pengaruh interaksi tumbukan antara elektron tersebut dengan foton. Dua elektron tersebut melompat di antara keadaan singlet dan triplet. Lompatan ini dipengaruhi oleh medan magnetik bumi yang memberikan sinyal berbeda-beda untuk ditransfer ke otaknya. Burung-burung ini diyakini menggunakan prinsip pengaruh kuantum untuk navigasinya. Kami juga mengungkap pentingnya fenomena ini dalam usaha mencari asal mula kehidupan. Background: Telehealth services are widely used in Saudi Arabia. Despite this, neither the use rate nor the attitudes, perceptions, and barriers concerning telehealth applications have been evaluated nationally from the perspective of healthcare providers (HCPs). Aim: This study aims to explore the use rate of telehealth, as well as the attitudes, perceptions, and barriers concerning telehealth use in Saudi Arabia from the perspective of HCPs. Methods and design: A cross-sectional survey was conducted and distributed to all HCPs between 16 November 2021 and 16 March 2022, through an online platform (Survey Monkey). Results: Overall, 1034 HCPs completed the online survey, of which 65.0% (n = 677) were male. Physicians accounted for 22.34%, while nurses and respiratory therapists accounted for 22.34% and 21.47%, respectively. Only 491 HCPs (47%) have used telehealth applications, the majority for less than a year (21.47%) or from one to three years (14.51%). Around 44% of HCPs perceived telehealth as being useful in quality and care delivery. Around 43% of HCPs felt comfortable using telehealth, and 45.45% perceived telehealth as being useful for patients with transportation difficulties. Additionally, 38% believed that telehealth provides a confidential way of protecting patients’ information, and 36% would like to receive more training in telehealth. Speech-language therapists and public health professionals were the highest HCP users (98% and 95%, respectively), while general physicians and dentists were the lowest users (44% and 55%, respectively). Lack of time or a busy schedule was the most common barrier to not using telehealth among all HCPs (38%). Conclusion: The use of telehealth was perceived as being positive as well as valuable and confidential in monitoring and providing care. However, challenges such as the lack of time or a busy schedule impeded the use of telehealth among HCPs in Saudi Arabia.
