The absence of a map on the history of Indonesian Press makes it difficult for communication researchers to understand the scope of this field. The purpose of this study is to provide an up-to-date description of the historical researches of newspapers in Indonesia. The literature study method is used to select, sort and map various research literature on the history of newspapers in Indonesia. The result of this study is a mapping diagram of newspaper history that divides press history research into 5 genres, namely: local press, media organizations, ideology and propaganda, media history in general, and press bans. The implication is that this diagram can be used as a basis for press history researchers to gain insight into the themes and timeframes that have been researched by the researchers and at the same time open up opportunities for which themes and timeframes still need further investigation. Ketiadaan peta mengenai riset sejarah surat kabar menyulitkan peneliti komunikasi untuk memahami ranah penelitian tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini berusaha untuk memberikan gambaran terkini tentang penelitian-penelitian sejarah surat kabar di Indonesia. Metode studi literatur digunakan untuk memilih, memilah dan memetakan beragam literatur penelitian sejarah surat kabar di Indonesia. Hasil kajian ini adalah diagram pemetaan sejarah surat kabar yang membagi riset sejarah pers kedalam 5 genre, yaitu: pers lokal, organisasi media, ideologi dan propaganda, sejarah media secara umum, dan pembreidelan pers. The journey of the Indonesian Nation has begun since the historical period which means that the Indonesian Nation has begun to recognize the tradition of writing as an effort to record the history of its ancestors. The development of the Indonesian nation continues to experience dynamics in each period. From these dynamics then there is an effort to strengthen and unite the Indonesian Nation through nationalism. Nationalism in Indonesia began in 1901-1920 or known as the Early Period of the Indonesian Movement with the marking of movement organizations both oriented towards education and politics. The history of Nationalism in Indonesia is not limited to the Era of Movement but continues to move today. Historical education was born and departed through the History of the Development of the Indonesian Nation. Of course, in the historiography of the Indonesian people is full of records of the struggle of how the founding fathers of the nation fought to establish the Republic of Indonesia through bloodshed. Certainly the essence of Historical Education is how efforts to increase the values of nationalism are presented in the form of historiography. This research has problem formulation which consists of (1) how is the development of historiography in Indonesia?,(2) how is nationalism related to history textbooks, (3) how is the concrete form of nationalism in historical education?.

For a long time ago, Indonesia was identified as maritime country. The collective memory remembered from several islands in Indonesia shows that Indonesia is a large maritime space. The original name of the country was Nusantara, (called archipelago in English). From historical data in some location, there are some evidences about the glorious of the maritime kingdom in the continent. However, maritime perspective is not to be ‘important issue” in the mind of Indonesian people nowadays. History education makes an important rule at the moment. Indonesian independence needs history education based on political perspective, especially to enhance nationalism. The orientation is continued until the New Order, and it is especially focused on the rule of Indonesia military. Reformation since 1998 should make democratization in Indonesian history teaching, but the reality, the tradition of writer in history education, was still stagnant. The content of maritime history in Indonesian History Education still become a big problem. This paper aims to analyze the development of the maritime content in Indonesian History education at school and to give the new alternative in teaching history based on maritime content. The alternative curriculum based on local competitiveness in maritime history related with regional and global region, is the best solution for it.

The research explains the traces of the history and development of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia using the research method of the library research approach (library research), literature studies are defined as a series of activities related to the method of collecting library data, reading, recording and processing research materials. The results of this study suggest that pesantren is one of the main educational pillars in the development of Islam in the archipelago, historically, pesantren is an inseparable part of the life of the Indonesian people, because in reality the growth of pesantren is in line with the development of Islam in Indonesia. The role of pesantren is not only as an educational institution that educates, guides and trains students, pesantren is also one of the historical forces that is the background of Islamic movements that have emerged in Indonesia. Abstract: Indonesia is the largest democracy in the world, as well as the country with the most followers of Islam. Orientalists consider Islam in Indonesia as Islam that departs from principles that are different from Islam in the Middle East. The persuasive style of Indonesian Islam is due to the process of Islamization that has been carried out. The process of Islamization in the archipelago merged with the local culture. In contrast to the process of Islamization in the Middle East which was dominated by military action. By analyzing various sources, this study concludes that Indonesian Islam is able to contribute to the global world. Indonesian Islam provides an example of the practice of religious pluralism and democracy that go hand in hand. This is because Indonesia made the legality of several religions. In the end, it gave birth to the term Islam Wasatiyah which is the result of the integration of Indonesian Islamic culture. This Islamic movement was initiated by a large Islamic organization in Indonesia. And continue to be introduced in the global realm as a contribution to world civilization.

"Abstract" The purpose of writing this article is to examine and discuss the contribution of the ideas of national figure Muhammad Yamin in Indonesian history in the early days of Indonesian independence. We know that Muhammad Yamin had a lot of influence on Indonesia's history in the early days of independence. In the early days of the formation of the Indonesian state, Indonesia's history was still dominated by the Nederlandsentris or European centrists. So here comes an idea from national figures to re-correct the writing of Indonesian History into the Indosiocentric history stream. Muahammad Yamin is one of the figures. Muhammad Yamin with his conception of Romantic History that reveals the past. Besides that, through the poems of Muhammad Yamin's struggle to dismiss Indonesian National History as a form of nationalism. Terrorism is an extraordinary crime that is a challenge for the Indonesian people to abolish it. Terrorism usually starts from radical views or understandings by a particular person or group to threaten the government and make anxious Indonesian people. Because terrorism is very detrimental to the nation and state of Indonesia psychologically and materially, it is appropriate for the Indonesian people to fight the spread of understanding that can trigger acts of terrorism. One way is to strengthen the values of Pancasila to all the people of Indonesia. The purpose of this paper is for the Indonesian people to know the bitter history of acts of terrorism that have occurred in Indonesia almost every year. And also so that the Indonesian people can prevent the spread of radical thinking and always uphold the four pillars of Indonesian nationality. The thought that must be owned by the successor of the Indonesian nation is tolerance, this is due to the condition that Indonesia is a country that has many differences in many ways.

In the aftermath of the attempted 1965 coup, many dissidents, leftists, and suspected Communists were either ‘eradicated’ or incarcerated in prisons all over Indonesia. Since their release, these political prisoners continue to face state-enforced discrimination and stigmatisation. The marginalization of ex-political prisoners by both the state and local communities has continued through Indonesia’s democratic transition following President Suharto’s downfall in 1998. This is compounded by the presence of right-wing groups who continue to harass them, labelling them as neo-Communists inimical to the Indonesian body politic. Through direct engagement with former political prisoners, I aim to understand rehabilitative efforts through support groups. In preliminary interviews, many eks-tapol refer to the need to ‘straighten’ history. This discourse highlights their need to be recognized as ‘whole’ citizens of Indonesia. I explore the state’s struggle to address this dark chapter in Indonesian history, what it means to ‘straighten’ history and how eks-tapol engage with support groups to re-define their position within the community, denoting a strengthened sense of dignity and humanity. It is hoped that this research will contribute to efforts to understand and protect the rights of eks-tapol and other victims of political persecution in Southeast Asia.

The history of historical writing in Indonesia is interesting to observe. This is because the history of writing Indonesian history continues to experience development. One of the developments in Indonesian historiography is how Indonesia-centric historiography is not only dominated by narratives of political history. The dominance of political history narratives in Indonesian historiography also influences the study of Indonesian national history. In fact, the past life of the Indonesian people was not only dominated by political life. At present, Indonesian historiography tries to provide space for historical studies that are not only dominated by political history, one of which is by presenting the history of everyday life. This is a first step for historians to present a more complete and thorough narrative of the past. However, writing the history of everyday life raises other challenges, one of which is that the use of conventional historical sources usually does not present narratives of everyday life. For that, it is necessary to use unconventional historical sources. Abstrak Sejarah penulisan sejarah di Indonesia menarik untuk dicermati. Hal ini dikarenakan sejarah penulisan sejarah Indonesia (Historiografi Indonesiasentris) terus mengalami perkembangan. Salah satu perkembangan yang terjadi dalam historiografi Indonesia adalah bagaimana historiografi Indonesiasentris tidak hanya didominasi narasi sejarah politik. Dominasi narasi sejarah politik dalam historiografi Indonesia ini turut berpengaruh terhadap kajian sejarah nasional Indonesia. Padahal, kehidupan masa lalu bangsa Indonesia tidak hanya didominasi oleh kehidupan politik saja. Di masa kini, historiografi Indonesia berusaha memberikan ruang terhadap kajian sejarah yang tidak hanya didominasi sejarah politik saja, salah satunya dengan menghadirkan sejarah kehidupan sehari-hari. Ini adalah sebuah Langkah awal dari para sejarawan untuk menghadirkan narasi masa lalu yang lebih lengkap dan menyeluruh. Namun, menulis sejarah kehidupan sehari-hari ternyata menimbulkan tantangan permasalahan lain, salah satunya adalah penggunaan sumber sejarah konvensional biasanya tidak menghadirkan narasi kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk itu, diperlukan penggunaan sumber sejarah yang tidak konvensional.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the peculiarities of the perception of the Islamic State of Indonesia (1949–1962) in modern Indonesian memorial culture and historical collective memory. It is assumed that the ideological contradictions and methodological difficulties of localizing the history of Islam in the culture of memory of Indonesia are aggravated by the collective traumas of mutual violence and mistrust between secular nationalists and their Islamic opponents. The novelty of the study lies in the analysis of the attempts of the Indonesian society to form a compromise canon of the culture of historical memory as a space for dialogue and development of the images of the Islamic State, which was previously the object of negative mythologization, which led to its marginalization in the collective historical memory. The author analyses 1) the features of the imagination of the Islamic State in the politics of memory, 2) the prospects and contradictions of integrating the history of the Islamic State into the historical imagination of the memorial culture of Indonesia, 3) attempts to revise the history of the Islamic State in the context of the development of the memorial culture of modern Indonesian society. The results of the study suggest that Indonesian society is active in its attempts to use the mechanisms of historical politics to form a new image of the history of the Islamic State, seeking to build a compromise version of the memorial culture, which would include secular and religious versions of historical memory.

The historic event of the Korean Youth Independent Movement during the Japanese colonial period in Indonesia, which involved soldiers from Korea, has become a point of interest for Indonesian people, especially Indonesian millennials and historians. Since Indonesia’s independence from the Japanese colonial rule in 1945, Indonesia has gone through various difficulties and faced political crises, just as Korea has. This article discusses the social and cultural factors, particularly Indonesian millennials’ activities and interests which influence the study of Korean history in Indonesia. At several points, this research shows that the millennials’ mastery of the Korean language is important for the development of Korean historical studies in Indonesia. Applying the desk review method, this research finds a great interest among Indonesian millennials to study Korean history. One of the encouraging factors is the role of Korean history reviewers who bring Korean historical sources closer to Indonesian audiences through seminars that are intended for not only scholars, but also other millennials and the general public. The growth of Korean language users should be an important instrument to further develop not only the study of Korean history, but also diplomatic relations between Korea and Indonesia.

This article discusses about Islamic Law in Indonesia in history perspective. This article analyses the problem and prospect of Islamic law in Indonesia as epistemologically discourse. This article asays that the Islamic law of Indonesia has developed since Dutch East Indies Period. It mixed in the customary law of Indonesian muslim people. Indonesia in the post colonial period, which uses Eropha Contnental Legal System makes a legislation to establish the national law. Therefore, Islamic law may become the national law if it’s drafted as a bill to be enacted, such as marriage law (act of 1, 1974 on marriage), law No. 10 of 1998 on the amendment of Law No. 7 of 1992 on Banking, the law no. 35, 1999 on Zakat Management, the law no. 17, 1999 on hajj, and the law no. 3, 2006 on the Amandment of the law no. 7, 1989 on eligion Court.

Breast cancer occurs due to rapid and abnormal cell growth due to infiltration of lymphatic tissue and blood vessels. For this reason, surgery is vital to use as a treatment for breast cancer at an early stage. There are two surgical methods: Breast-Conserving Surgery (BCS) and mastectomy. In this regard, several factors have been studied to influence patients in choosing BCS or mastectomy. Looking at the age factor, the results varied and differed significantly throughout the study.Method: This analytical study used a retrospective cross-sectional approach. The research subjects were patients with breast cancer who were the Lovely Pink community members in Surakarta City, Central Java. Subjects were selected by simple random sampling with inclusion criteria consisting of female patients aged 20 to 80 years, being diagnosed with stage 1 and 2 breast cancer, and having received surgery employing BCS or mastectomy techniques.Result: This study was conducted on 218 breast cancer patients who had undergone mastectomy or BCS in Surakarta City, Central Java. It was found that 104 patients were < 50 years old and 114 patients > 50 years old. 76 patients (34.9%) and 142 patients (65.1%) had a total income of more or less than Rp2.5 million/month. As many as 155 patients (71.1%) and 63 patients (28.9%) had no history of disease. Based on the type of surgery performed, 141 people (64.7%) underwent mastectomy, and 77 people (35.3%) underwent BCS.Conclusion: It can be concluded that patients prefer to undergo mastectomy with significant results at the age of under and above 50 years supported by income, medical history, and work history.Keywords: breast-conserving surgery, mastectomy, age

<p><em>Shia</em><em>h becomes a new problem in Indonesia after hundreds years of living together. Currently, treatment to Shiah tends to violate the principles of religious freedom. Therefore, it is necessary to know, how the history of the emergence of Shiah and its development in Indonesia? This is a library research using a critical analysis approach. This study found that the Syiah is a religious ideology which refers to the views of Saidina Ali (the fourth khalifat) and his descendants. This teaching emerged since the beginning of the khulafaurasidin. Shiah has developed dozens of religiousstreams due to disagreement and differences on the idea of Imamah. There are four stages of Shiah development in Indonesia, namely: Firstly, along with the arrival of Islam in Indonesia; Secondly, after the Islamic revolution in Iran; Thirdly, through Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals who studied in Iran, and Finally, during the open era there was an establishment of as association Jamaah Ahlul Bai’t Indonesia.</em></p>

These writers were productive and significant in the development of Modern Indonesian Literature. Sequential theory and library research methods were used to reinterpret early history by including Popular Malay Literature which was not previously recorded in these books. Islamic calligraphy or khat is the oldest Islamic art found in Indonesia and has experienced a long phase in its development. The peak phase is in Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) which includes a khat competition branch Musabaqah Khattil Qur'an (MKQ). MKQ has given many influences to the art of khat, one of which is to ground the seven styles of khat used practically by Indonesian khattat, namely Naskhi, Thuluth, Diwani, Diwani Jali, Farisi, Riq'ah, and Kufi. But, the development of khat in Indonesia does not stop here, 2010 there are Indonesian khattat who managed to achieve international achievements in the branch of the competition for writing khat Maghribi Mabsut, a type of khat from Morocco that has never been recorded in the Indonesian khat universe. The acceptance of this khat continues to expand, as evidenced by the emergence of khat}t}a>t who also managed to make their achievements in the international arena. This study was conducted to answer two questions (1) how is the process of introducing Indonesian khattat to the Maghribi Mabsut khat type? (2) what are the factors that encourage the acceptance of Maghribi Mabsut khat among Indonesian khattat By using field research methods and sociocultural approaches, the results of this study are (1) Maghribi Mabsut khat is known in Indonesia through Indonesian students studying in Egypt (2) there are three factors of acceptance of Maghribi Mabsut khat, namely: education factor, technology adaptation factor and the breadth of opportunity factor.

This research scrutinizes the representation of political conflict within contemporary Indonesian history textbooks. The research question is about how the contemporary history textbooks present political conflicts in Indonesian historiography for the younger generation within the frame of political interests, nation-building, and the demand of conflict reconciliation and transformation. Discourse Historical Analysis was used as the research method, particularly in investigating conflict representation from the analysis of nomination, predication, argumentation, perspectivation, and intensification. The object is Indonesian History textbook used in schools. Data analysis techniques are carried out with discourse historical analysis techniques through analysis of nominations, predicates, arguments, and perspectives. The findings show that historical conflicts in the textbooks are represented in two forms of historical narrative logic. The first is a simple plot and heroism narrative logic to present the conflicts in Indonesia from 1945 to 1965. The second is a cooperative-constructive narrative logic that emphasizes the conflict reconciliation rather than the conflictual process in presenting the conflicts in Indonesia from 1965 to 1998. Those logics consist of the binary system and schizophrenic feeling that shows the confusion of the historians in narrating conflict within the history textbook. Therefore, the chance to take advantage of the textbook in supporting conflict transformation in Indonesia can be hard to achieve. The historian has to find an alternative approach to solve the problem of conflict representation within the Indonesian history textbook. This alternative approach is carried out as an effort to support the transformation of conflict in Indonesian society.

Freshwater fishes abound in Indonesia. They are everywhere in the archipelago—from rice fields and irrigation canals to brackish lagoons and highland rivers. They even populate the most unassuming bodies of water. Some species are found in the remotest of volcanic lakes while others call the blackest and most acidic peat swamps their home. Every island has its habitats and every habitat has its fishes, making Indonesia one of the world’s richest centers of ichthyofauna diversity. And yet, thinking with freshwater fishes—and their biodiversity history—has been largely absent from the field of Indonesian studies. A telling example of this biological blindspot can be found in the ways in which the Cornell Modern Indonesia Project (CMIP) has produced—and continues to constitute—Indonesia as an area of study and attachment. In CMIP’s Producing Indonesia: The State of the Field of Indonesian Studies, a landmark volume published in 2014, there were twenty-seven contributions that spanned the humanities and social sciences but none that looked at the role local scientists played in knowing the archipelago’s freshwater fauna or even broader the interplay between environment and society in shaping the study of modern Indonesia. In response, this essay centers the interplay between environment and society to show how it can open up new directions for future research and interdisciplinary collaboration. In doing so, and in particular, the paper argues that the story of fish and freshwater illustrates the promise of biodiversity history for the field of Indonesian studies in the age of environmental humanities and beyond.

Abstract: Civil Law is a provision that regulates the rights and interests of individuals in society. The history of the development of civil Law in Indonesia cannot be separated from the history of legal science development in other European countries. Law in Indonesia is a mixture of European legal systems, religious Law, and customary law. Most of the systems adopted, both civil and criminal, are based on continental European Law. This study uses a research methodology that reviews normative juridical studies conducted by synthesizing deductive conclusions from statements in data sources such as library materials including journals, books, documents, and literature or secondary Law such as laws, legal theory, court decisions, relevant expert opinion and related to the discussion in this journal. This research is an analytical prescriptive that synthesizes data, analyzes, and concludes qualitatively. Civil Law in Indonesia comes from the Dutch language, namely Burgerlijk Recht, derived from the Burgerlijk Wetboek (B.W), which in Indonesia is known as the Civil Code (KUH Perdata). Civil Law in Indonesia is somewhat different from the civil Law that applies in the Netherlands. Burgelijk Wetboek's systematics consists of Van Personen, Van Zaken, Van Verbintenissen, Van Bewijaeu Veryaring.

Indonesia as a country with the largest Muslim population in the world, of course, requires paying Zakat according to the pillars of Islam. Since ancient times, zakat has been believed by Muslims as a solution to alleviating poverty. This is evidenced from history during the caliphate of Umar bin Abdul Aziz. In historical records it is told that at that time it was difficult to find mustahik (especially the poor) who were entitled to receive zakat. The success of Umar bin Abdul Aziz in managing zakat is inseparable from the strategy or method of managing zakat. At that time, zakat was managed by the government. So that zakat assets are really well distributed. As a result, the people at that time lived in prosperity. The success in the management of zakat during the time of Umar bin Abdul Aziz should have been used as a guide by the Indonesian government in efforts to alleviate poverty. These efforts can be seen from time to time, both from the period of the Islamic empire, the colonial period, the old order period (early independence, the new order, to the reformation era).

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk; (1) mengembangkan model pembelajaran ICARE berbasis rotation blended untuk meningkatkan literasi sejarah pada mata kuliah Pendidikan Sejarah Indonesia; (2) mengetahui tingkat kelayakan model pembelajaran ICARE berbasis rotation blended digunakan pada mata kuliah Pendidikan Sejarah Indonesia; (3) mengetahui tingkat keefektifan model pembelajaran ICARE berbasis rotation blended dapat meningkatkan kompetensi mata kuliah Pendidikan Sejarah Indonesia; (5) mengetahui Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif dan kompetensi mata kuliah Pendidikan Sejarah Indonesia. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R & D). Penelitian ini dilakukan Jurusan Pendidikan Sejarah, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Unimed Tahun Akademik 2023/2024, matakuliah Pendidikan Sejarah Indonesia Masa Kemerdekaan sampai Revormasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa: model pembelajaran ICARE berbasis rotation blended sangat layak; model pembelajaran ICARE berbasis rotation blended meningkatkan hasil belajar pada mata kuliah pendidikan sejarah indonesia sangat tinggi. 0,63 dengan kategori “sedang” (0,7 > (N-gain) ≥ 0,3), sehingga sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa; dan Kemampuan literasi sejarah terdapat peningkatan pada saat posttest. Many local histories in Indonesia remain unnoticed by learners. Learning materials that inform the local histories are generally limited, boring, and do not fit and attract today’s learners, especially those available in English. We investigated the potential of an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom project that promotes and celebrates local histories in Indonesia through (digital) comics. The comics were developed by second-year university students majoring in history (n=156) working in groups of three or four. A total of 51 comics with various themes related to Indonesian local histories were successfully created and exhibited virtually on a designated Instagram account. A questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale containing 12 statements and two open-ended questions was employed to examine the impact of this project-based learning on students’ understanding and awareness of conserving their local histories through comics. We analyzed the results using SPSS (for quantitative data) and thematic analysis (for qualitative data). Findings indicate that students believe a comic is an interesting medium for learning local history and that local histories in Indonesia need to be promoted via various media, including comics. Future research should investigate the effects of English comics on students’ comprehension of local history in Indonesia and linguistic competence in history-related vocabulary and pronunciation.

Despite their long existence in Nusantara, the Chinese ethnic groups remain less represented or even misrepresented in the history of Indonesia, resulting in negative stereotypes and attitudes towards the community. Sejarah Nasional Indonesia (SNI) and history textbooks for schools and universities, for instance, do not provide adequate narratives about Chinese contributions to Indonesian politics and economy during the pre- and post-independence era. This study aims to critically analyse the representation of Chinese ethnicities in the modern history of Indonesia, more specifically, the SNI and history textbooks for Islamic schools and universities. The findings of the study suggest that there was an unwritten history of Chinese and Chinese Muslims, especially during the Sukarno and Suharto regimes, which then Abdurrahman Wahid began to include. The study recommends new narratives of Chinese Muslims in modern Indonesian history by proposing some notable scholars who extensively worked on the History of Islam in Java, to which Chinese Muslims had contributed. [Kendati sudah berada di Indonesia berabad-abad lamanya, etnis Tionghoa tidak banyak tercatat dalam narasi sejarah Indonesia. Misrepresentasi etnis Tionghoa di Nusantara bahkan menyebabkan adanya stereotip dan sikap negatif terhadap etnis tersebut. Sejarah Nasional Indonesia (SNI) dan buku teks sejarah di sekolah dan universitas, misalnya, tidak banyak menyebutkan kontribusi etnis Tionghoa secara politik maupun ekonomi selama masa pra dan pasca kemerdekaan. Studi ini merupakan analisis kritis terhadap representasi etnis Tionghoa dalam sejarah modern Indonesia, khususnya dalam Sejarah Nasional Indonesia (SNI) dan buku teks sejarah di sekolah dan kampus Islam. Temuan kajian menunjukkan adanya sejarah yang tidak tercatat tentang peran Muslim Tionghoa selama rezim Sukarno dan Suharto, yang kemudian mulai diubah oleh rezim Gus Dur. The practice of democracy and political life cannot be separated from the roots or origins that was formed the basis, including in Indonesia. This article aims to examine and seek explanations regarding the roots of democracy in Indonesia. This analysis begins with a historical perspective. There are many questions about Indonesian history that need to be answered in order to understand the problems and practices of democracy in Indonesia. Has Indonesia historically had experience in practicing democracy before its independence? What are the historical reasons for the absence of democracy in contemporary Indonesia? Are there democratic values in Indonesian history that can be used as a basis for upholding contemporary democracy? The results of the analysis show that there is still debate among Indonesian experts, some state that Indonesia has no roots in democracy, while other experts state the opposite that the roots and practices of democracy in Indonesia have existed for a long time and are practiced in people's daily lives. This study aims to examine or study the role of the development of Indonesian Islamic civilization during the reformation period. This research is a library research that is qualitative in nature. Library research is research conducted by collecting library data, reading, recording and processing research materials related to the issues discussed. Learning history at the beginning of independence aims to instill a spirit of nationalism, bearing in mind that at this time, Indonesia still had to struggle to maintain its independence. Islam in Indonesia has existed since the 7th century and became more widespread in the 13th century. The success of the spread of Islam in Indonesia is among the most dynamic by cultivating religious and political da'wah. Since the era of independence, Islam has developed rapidly. This study aims to examine the existence of Islam in Indonesia today, with an overview before the reform era and after the reform era. The Islamic movement can be said to be very influential. This can be seen from the cancellation of Islamic organizations and parties. Despite its dominant influence as a result, Islam did not become the official ideology of the Indonesian nation state after independence, as in the Jakarta Charter incident, Islamic figures preferred Pancasila as the principle of a pluralistic state. Based on the results of written research that reform is defined as standing as ishlah, which in the ushul fiqh rule "keeps something good from the old and accepts what is better than the new." Therefore, Islamic leaders are required to understand the global situation and have influence in Indonesia. After the reform, there were also various radical Islamic organizations, terror, and these movements demanding the application of Islamic law in all forms of order promoted by certain Islamic movements. These issues make Islam a very sensitive issue, claims against Muslim representation, blasphemy, exclusivity and confusion between religion and politics without criticism. Background. Islam is a religion that prioritizes the principles of truth and justice for all its adherents. Factors that encourage Muslims to achieve independence are ideological, political, economic, social and cultural factors. Islam has an important role in the development of education in Indonesia. There are three sectors of Islamic education in Indonesia, namely formal, informal and non-formal. Purpose. The purpose of this research is to find out 1.) The history of the development of Islam in Indonesia after independence. 2.) The impact of the development of Islam in Indonesia. 3.) The process of development of Islamic civilization. So from the description above, the author will explain how the development of Islam in Indonesia after independence, what caused the emergence of the Islamic renewal movement, especially in Indonesia. Method. This research uses the type of literature study (library research). The data collection technique carried out in this study uses a study of bibliographic sources from books and articles in scientific journals related to the subject matter, reading data with the thoughts of experts with a constructive approach and interpretation of the contents of the main discussion related to the development of Islam after independence. Results. After Indonesia's independence in 1945, Islamic civilization in the country continued to develop and made significant contributions in various aspects of life. Conclusion. After independence, Islamic education was one of the key points in the development of Islamic civilization in Indonesia. The thinking and writing of Indonesian Islamic intellectuals also developed with many studies, writings and translations of classical and modern Islamic works. The Salafi movement that insists on returning to the teachings of Islam is considered to be fully associated with the salafushalih (early generations of Islam), and emerged and developed after independence.

Abstract This article aims to find out and describe the pattern of Islamic education moderation in Indonesian history. Islam in Indonesia is manhaj tawasuṭ (moderate). With manhaj, Islam as a religion followed by the majority of the Indonesian population succeeded in entering into every aspect of life in Indonesia from social, cultural, economic and even political and government bureaucracy. Similarly, Islamic education managed to occupy an important position in education in Indonesia. Even though it is an alternative education, the fact is that Islamic education in Indonesia is a very important part to educate the nation. Moderation of Islamic education in Indonesia began with the first education model in Indonesia, namely pesantren. The pattern of moderation found from pesantren is cultural acculturation which is very obvious, from the knowledge learned to educational methods used, Arabic pegon to fill the language gap. The next phase is accommodation patterns that we can see from madrasa that adapts the classical government system from the colonial side. The next pattern is formalization that can be described through the phenomenon of state madrasas. Then, the latest is mu'adalah policy and formal diniyyah education. From these patterns it can be concluded that Indonesian Islamic education always takes the middle way (wasaṭiyyah) of every challenge that arises due to historical movements. This modernization is a genius manner by paying attention to the rules of muḥafadzah ‘alāqadīm al-ḥāliḥ wa al-akhdzu bi jadīd al-aṣlaḥ. With this understanding, Islamic education in Indonesia will always be relevant in every space and time (ṣaliḥli kull zamān wa makān) as aspired by the salāf al-ṣaliḥ. Keyword: Moderation, Islamic Education ملخص تهدف هذه المقالة إلى اكتشاف نمط الاعتدال في التربية الإسلامية في إندونيسيا ووصفه في المسار التاريخي. كما هو معروف أن الإسلام في إندونيسيا لديه منهج التوسط كإحدى خصائصه. مع منهاجه المعتدل، نجح الإسلام كدين يتبعه غالبية السكان الإندونيسيين وهو يدخل في كل مفاصل حياتهم بدءا من البيروقراطية الاجتماعية والثقافية والاقتصادية وحتى السياسية والحكومية. وكذلك، نجح التعليم الإسلامي في احتلال مكانة هامة في عالم التعليم في إندونيسيا. على الرغم من أنه تعليم بديل، إلا أن التعليم الإسلامي في إندونيسيا جزء مهم للغاية في الجهود الرامية إلى تثقيف حياة الأمة. أول الاعتدال في التربية الإسلامية في إندونيسيا وهو في المعهد الإسلامى. هذا النمط الاعتدال الموجود في المعهد الإسلامى هو التثقيف الثقافية الواضح عند النظر إلى خصوصيات ذلك المعهد وعمومياته بدءا من نظام تعليمه، والعلوم المستفادة فيه حتى الأساليب التعليمية التي تستخدم منها العربية Pegon كجسر من الفجوة في لغة التدريس. في المرحلة التالية، يمكن العثور على أنماط الإقامة التي يمكن رؤيتها من خلال التعليم في المدرسة التي تكيّف النظام الحكومي الكلاسيكي من الجانب الاستعماري. النمط التالي هو الشكل الرسمي الذي يمكن وصفه من خلال ظاهرة ازدهار المدارس الإسلامية الحكومية، وصولاً إلى أحدث سياسات المعضدة وهو لتعليم الرسمي لتعليم المسائل الدينية Madrasah Diniyah. من هذه الأنماط، يمكن أن نستنتج أن التعليم الإسلامي الإندونيسي يأخذ دائمًا مسارًا متوسطًا (الوسيطية) من أي تحديات تنشأ بسبب حركة التاريخ. الرد على التجديد بطريقة عبقرية من خلال الاهتمام بقواعد المخافظة على القيم الصالح والأخذ بالجديد الأصلح. وبهذا الفهم ، سيكون التعليم الإسلامي في إندونيسيا دائمًا صالح لكل زمان ومكان كما أمله السلف اصالح. مفتاح الكلمات: الاعتدال ، التربية الإسلامية Abstrak Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan pola moderasi pendidikan Islam di Indonesia dalam lintasan sejarah. Sebagaimana diketahui bahwa Islam di Indonesia memiliki manhaj tawasuṭ (moderat) sebagai ciri khasnya. Dengan manhaj moderatnya, Islam sebagai agama yang diikuti mayoritas penduduk Indonesia berhasil masuk dalam setiap sendi kehidupan di Indonesia mulai dari sosial, budaya, ekonomi bahkan politik dan birokrasi pemerintahan. Demikian pula pendidikan Islam berhasil menempati posisi penting dalam dunia pendidikan di Indonesia. Sekalipun ia merupakan pendidikan alternatif, faktanya pendidikan Islam di Indonesia menjadi bagian yang sangat penting dalam usaha mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa. Moderasi pendidikan Islam di Indonesia diawali sejak model pendidikan pertama di Indonesia yaitu pesantren. Pola moderasi yang ditemukan dari pesantren adalah akulturasi budaya yang sangat kentara jika mencermati seluk-beluk pesantren mulai dari sistem pendidikannya, ilmu yang dipelajari hingga metode pendidikan yang menggunakan arab pegon sebagai jembatan dari kesenjangan bahasa pengantar. Pada fase berikutnya ditemukan pola akomodasi yang bisa kita lihat dari pendidikan madrasah yang mengadaptasi sistem pemerintahan klasikal dari pihak kolonial. Pola selanjutnya adalah formalisasi yang bisa digambarkan melalui fenomena menjamurnya madrasah negeri, sampai yang terbaru, kebijakan mu’adalah dan pendidikan diniyyah formal. Dari pola-pola tersebut bisa disimpulkan bahwasanya pendidikan Islam Indonesia selalu mengambil jalan tengah (wasaṭiyyah) dari setiap tantangan yang muncul akibat gerak sejarah. Kebaharuan direspon dengan cara yang jenius dengan memperhatikan kaidah muḥafadzah ‘alā qadīm al-ṣāliḥ wa al-akhdzu bi jadīd al-aṣlaḥ. Dengan pemahaman demikian maka pendidikan Islam di Indonesia akan selalu relevan dalam setiap ruang dan waktu (ṣaliḥ li kull zamān wa makān) sebagaimana dicita-citakan para salāf al-ṣaliḥ. This study aims to explain the dynamics of Indonesian History subject in the 2013 Curriculum at Vocational High School. Implementation of the 2013 Curriculum, the Indonesian History subject had a special place at the Vocational High School level. But, revision of 2013 Curriculum effected on the existence of Indonesian History subject in Vocational High School. This study used a library research method that used library resources in research without field research. The results showed that Indonesian History subject at the beginning of the 2013 Curriculum implementation got allocation 216 hours for six semester in 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Decreased to 144 hours for four semester in 10th and 11th grade after revised in 2016, and decreased again to 108 hours of time allocation for two semester only in 10th grade in 2017 and changing nomenclature from Indonesian History become History. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan mengenai dinamika pelajaran Sejarah Indonesia dalam Kurikulum 2013 di jenjang SMK/MAK. Seperti diketahui bahwasanya awal penerapan Kurikulum 2013, Sejarah Indonesia mendapatkan tempat istimewa pada jenjang SMK/MAK, namun seiring perkembangan waktu, terjadi revisi yang dilakukan terhadap Kurikulum 2013 yang berdampak pada keberadaan mata pelajaran Sejarah Indonesia yang semakin berkurang jumlah jamnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode historis yang mencakup heuristik, kritik, interpretasi dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Sejarah Indonesia pada awal penerapan Kurikulum 2013 mendapatkan alokasi waktu 216 jam pelajaran, semakin berkurang menjadi 144 jam pelajaran setelah terjadi revisi kurikulum pada 2016 dan semakin berkurang lagi menjadi 108 jam pelajaran serta perubahan komenklatur dari Sejarah Indonesia menjadi sejarah setelah perbaikan struktur kurikulum untuk SMK/MAK pada tahun 2017.

If compared with other Indonesian Islamic organizations, histroy of Ahmadiyah is a topic that had been little discussed. Ahmadiyah is like a forgotten dot in the the prolonged history of Indonesia. Ahmadiyah has been in the archiplego for more than eighty years agos, but its existence is even until today still under suspicious eyes for many reasons, either theological particularly due to the acceptance of new prophethood; or its social attitude for being exclusive and due to political conpirative reason alleging Ahmadiyah as being aimed at weakening Islam from within. Apart from those controversies, not many people aware that Ahmadiyah, either the Qadianis or Lohoreans, have once contributed to the history of Islamic modernization in Indonesia. This article tries to depct in general how Ahmadiyah has been paving the way that contribute to the shaping if modern Islamic discource and movement in Indonesia.

The purpose of this study was to assess the development of animated films in Indonesia based on historical studies to determine simultaneously mapping the history Indonesia in the context of world/global animation history. This study also examines the relationship between the histories of Indonesiananimated films with history first entry of the film in Indonesia which began the Dutch colonial era. According to Stephen Cavalier, the world history of animation was divided into five large round starts from the era before 1900 (The Origin of Animation) to the digital era (1986-2010). Based results of the study, Indonesian animation in the context of five major round of world animation, though have long been in contact with foreign-made films and animation (Disney Studio) has into Indonesia from the early 20th century (the early 1900s), the animation is produced Indonesia has only emerged in the '50s through the vision of a Soekarno, the first President. 1950 in the world of animation history entered the era of transition from gold age of traditional animation/cartoon (golden age of cartoons) are dominated by studio Disney to the era of television (television era). In a review of the history of animation, the era of the '50s travel half a century is the era of the modern world of animation history. Based on the facts the Indonesian animation has actually grown quite long, but the development of animation in Indonesia was very slow when seen in the context of the world animation history.

This article compares educational systems and high school historical curriculum between Thai and Indonesian. The method used in this article is a qualitative descriptive method. The data referred to in this article are from the Thai Basic Education Core Curriculum 2008 and the Indonesian Curriculum 2013. Thailand and Indonesia have the same education system. As for high school history subjects, there are similarities and differences. Both countries emphasize this subject, with all students required to study history. The difference is the content of Indonesian history subject is much more than Thai. The time allotted for studying Thai history is much less than Indonesian history.

Abstract: This article discusses Sedjarah Umum written by Anwar Sanusi, namely the historiography of history textbooks in transitional historical records. At the beginning of Indonesia's independence, textbooks for history subjects was faced a non-centric and Indonesian-centric examination style. Neerlando-centric is a style that studies old historiography that is used mostly by colonial education. Choosing Indonesia-centric was a new style of writing after independence which had the purpose of writing a history that made the Indonesian nation the main actor. Still, it did not solve the history of Europeans in the Indies. The method used in this study is discourse analysis. The results of the study in this paper are (1) The writing of the Sedjarah Umum textbook written by Anwar Sanusi can be published using Neerlando centric and Indonesian centric; (2) The Dutch in World War II were shown as mediators and victims; (3) Indonesia-centric is indicated by mentioning Indonesia as a unified country. This study also compares textbooks published by the Sedjarah Umum of Anwar Sanusi's works based on the analysis: there are Neerlando centric and Indonesia-centric approaches. Abstrak: Artikel ini membahas tentang historiografi Sedjarah Umum karangan Anwar Sanusi yaitu historiografi buku ajar sejarah dalam masa transisi. Pada awal kemerdekaan Indonesia, buku teks pelajaran sejarah dihadapkan pada gaya ujian non sentris dan Indonesia sentris. Neerlando-sentris adalah gaya yang mempelajari historiografi lama yang sebagian besar digunakan oleh pendidikan kolonial. Memilih Indonesia-sentris adalah gaya penulisan baru setelah kemerdekaan yang bertujuan untuk menulis sejarah yang menjadikan bangsa Indonesia sebagai pemeran utamanya, tetapi tidak menyelesaikan sejarah bangsa Eropa di Hindia Belanda. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis wacana. Hasil penelitian dalam makalah ini adalah (1) Penulisan buku teks Sedjarah Umum karangan Anwar Sanusi diterbitkan dengan menggunakan Nerlando centric dan Indonesian centric; (2) Belanda dalam Perang Dunia II ditampilkan sebagai mediator dan korban; (3) Indonesia-sentris ditunjukkan dengan menyebut Indonesia sebagai negara kesatuan. Studi ini juga membandingkan buku teks Sedjarah Umum Anwar Sanusi berdasarkan pendekatan Neerlando centric dan Indonesia-centric. Â
