High Intellectual Potential (HIP) and High Functioning Autism (HFA) are two different conditions sharing some clinical and neurobiological features. The aim of the present study was to characterize a sample of HIP children (n: 16; M/F: 14/2; median age: 10 years) in comparison to those with HFA (n: 17; M/F: 16/1; median age: 13 years) and to neurotypically developed (NTD) children (n: 10; M/F: 4/6; median age: 11 years) from a clinical and neurophysiological perspective. Specifically, a standardized clinical assessment of cognitive and adaptive skills, autistic symptoms, executive functions and behavioral features was performed. Moreover, event-related potentials (ERPs) were recorded, referring specifically to the mismatch negativity (MMN) and P300 paradigm. Our data highlighted the presence of similarities between the intellectually gifted individuals and the ones with autism (i.e., a nonhomogeneous intellective profile, an adaptive skills impairment, subthreshold autistic symptoms and increased perfectionism). Interestingly, a distinct neurophysiological characterization between groups came out, with evidence of a reduced MMN amplitude only in the HFA group. Furthermore, no differences within groups in the P300 component emerged. Therefore, our results start to provide a more informative characterization of the HIP phenotype in comparison to those of HFA and NTD, highlighting the potential role of the MMN amplitude index in helping clinicians and researchers to distinguish between HIP and HFA. Nevertheless, further research on the topic is strongly needed.

IntroductionThe studies about developmental bases of attachment in healthy children with high intellectual potential (HIP) are rare.Moreover, the literature underline socio-emotional disorders in HIP and difficulties with behavioral adjustment of parents.ObjectivesWe aimed to explore the developmental trajectory of attachment in HIP children without psychological or learning disorders.MethodsThe french version of the Adolescent-Unresolved-Attachment-Questionnaire (QANRA: internal consistency=0.74-0.82; test-retest =0.58-0.83) was analyzed in 80 healthy children (50 HIP with IQ>130 vs. 30 non-HIP), aged 7-to-13-years-old (mean 10y; SD 1.8). All children were recruited in private and public schools in Paris.ResultsThere was no significant difference between the groups. However, when we looked at the developmental trajectory by distinguishing the period of adolescence [7-10 years (56% in the HIP group vs. 53% in the non-HIP); 11-13 years (44% in the HIP group vs. 47% in the non-HIP)], we have noted a significantly early integration of resolved attachment in the HIP children that seems to remain stable in adolescence.ConclusionsOur findings highlight the early onset of attachment with a harmony of intellectual/psycho-affective development in HIP children without skipping stages, but more quickly and effectively. This could potentially be explained by their cognitive abilities, particularly the theory of mind and the executive functions, known to be significantly more efficient in HIP children without neurodevelopmental disorders.Disclosure of InterestNone Declared

Introduction Few studies have analyzed the psychometric profile (Homogenous/Heterogenous), established by the Wechsler scale in high intellectual potential children (HIP, IQ>130), regarding the psycho-socio-emotional characteristics. Objectives We aimed to look at the links between the IQ-profile and the psycho-socio-emotional characteristics in HIP. Methods Anamnestic questionnaire and Wechsler-Intelligence-Scale for children (WISC-V) were conducted and analyzed in 58 healthy children with HIP, aged 7-to-13 years-old (mean 10y; SD 1.8). It was possible to distinguished 27 Homogenousvs 30 Heterogenous IQ-profile. Results No significant difference between homogenous/heterogonous groups, FIQ was positively significantly correlated with “Reacting very little emotionally”, “Tendency to isolation”. Visual-Spatial-Index (VSI) with “Ability to adapt to new people” (r=-0.4, p=0.02), “few interests” (r=0.5, p=0.008). Verbal-Comprehension-Index (VCI) with “Reacting strongly to frustration”, “Difficulties to understand limits”, “Separation anxiety”. A significant difference between homogenous/heterogonous groups was shown regarding “few interests” with high rate in the heterogonous group (t= -2.34, p=0.023). Conclusions HIP seems to cover specific psycho-socio-emotional characteristics linked to IQ index distribution. Thus, it appears interesting to assess more the emotional and socio-cognitive field to understand these characteristics in HIP children. Disclosure No significant relationships.

IntroductionAn overlap between autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in particular Asperger Syndrome (AS), and high intellectual potential (HIP–Total IQ > 2 SD) is often discussed.ObjectivesExplore differences between homogeneous and heterogeneous Wisc-profiles among HIP children, and between HIP and ASD children, on cognitive and clinical assessments.MethodsForty-nine participants (mean age 11.2 years) were divided in 4 groups: High Functioning Autism (HFA), AS, Homogenous HIP and Heterogeneous HIP. Data of WISC-IV and questionnaires – Autism Quotient (AQ), Empathy Quotient (EQ), Systemizing Quotient (SQ), Children's Communication Checklist (CCC) – were compared.(Preliminary) ResultsOn the WISC-IV, the Z scores curves follow similar trajectories but highlight quantitative differences between AS and heterogeneous HIP: verbal comprehension is the highest index (+1,6 SD in AS; +3,1 SD in heterogeneous HIP) followed by perceptual reasoning, working memory, and processing speed indexes (–1,2 SD in AS; +0,5 SD in heterogeneous HIP), respectively. The questionnaires show that scores of Homogenous HIP children are all in the average. Heterogeneous HIP children score 2,1 SD above average on the AQ (+1,6 SD on “Social Skills” and +1,3 SD on “Local Detail” subscales), whereas ASD children score 4 SD above average on the AQ. In addition, heterogeneous HIP children show pragmatic difficulties (–2,4 SD on the CCC, with a peak on “Area of Interest” subscale), also present in ASD children (–4 SD).ConclusionsAS and heterogeneous HIP children show similar cognitive profiles on the WISC-IV. IntroductionThe majority of studies on the HIP IQ attest a heterogeneity of the IQ profile as specific to HIP. However, the samples are recruited in clinical consultations. Thus, it is important to investigate new samples from schools.ObjectivesWe aimed to analyze the index scores of the IQ profile of children without disorders or specific school assistance.MethodsThe WISC-V was conducted and analyzed in 80 healthy children (50 HIP vs. 30 non-HIP), aged 7-to-13 years-old (mean 10y; SD 1.8). All children were recruited in private and public schools in Paris.Results All IQ index scores were significantly higher in the HIP vs. non-HIP. In both groups, the Verbal Comprehension Index was the highest index while the Processing Speed Index was the lowest. There are significantly (p=0.02) more heterogeneous IQ profiles in HIP (64%) vs. non-HIP (47%), with a significantly larger gap between the highest and lowest index (respectively: median = 29.5 vs. 21.5). There was a significant-positive correlation between IQ level in general and the heterogeneity of the profile (r = 0.42; p<0.001).ConclusionsThe HIP children show better verbal, visual-spatial, fluid reasoning, working memory, and processing speed index scores. However, the distribution of IQ index scores was similar in both groups. Thus, the heterogeneity of the IQ profile is not specific to HIP children, but rather related to IQ score level. This highlights the importance of considering the IQ as a continuum rather than as a categorical distribution. We aimed to explore the developmental trajectory of depressive symptoms in a national sample of French children with a high intellectual potential (HIP) seeking help from gifted organizations. Participants were drawn from a national retrospective survey sent to 1200 families with HIP children (IQ ≥ 130) from primary to high school and they answered a self-report questionnaire of a depression scale (MDI-C). The children’s parents completed a self-report questionnaire collected on different stages of the child’s school level, perinatality, psychomotor development, health, family’s history, behavior, interpersonal relationships and daily activities, school performance, presence of learning disorders and remediation. Four hundred and twenty HIP children were eligible with an IQ ≥ 130 aged from 8 to 17 years-old, 49% with depressive symptoms and 51% with no depressive symptoms. Analysis of 136 variables from anamnestic fields based on the use of Spearman’s ρ test (ρ) with a non-parametric correlations showed that “learning disabilities” are significantly related to depressive symptoms in different groups (primary p = 0.001, middle p = 0.02, high school p = 0.001) as well as “difficulties in psychomotor skills” during primary (p = 0.003) and middle school (p = 0.02). Good relationships with family as well as with peers are significantly negatively correlated with depressive symptoms from childhood to primary (p = 0.003) and high school (p = 0.02). Certain details of correlations between the MDI-C scale’s subfactors and anamnestic variables were analyzed. The ANOVA test about the MDI-C scale showed provocation as a significant marker at middle school (F (1, 418) = 3.487, p = 0.03) and low self-esteem at high school (F (1, 418) = 3.337, p = 0.03). A holistic developmental approach allowed us to highlight the risk factors of depression with a developmental trajectory origin linked to disorders of social adjustment and psychomotor skills and to the importance of misdiagnosed learning disabilities because of giftedness. Our findings support the interest in an early identification of and intervention in depression risk to improve clinical decision making on the effect of giftedness on mental health outcomes.

High intellectual ability is expanding its conceptualization. This broadening includes the need for executive and ethical regulation of high potential, in order to offer effective solutions in the complexity of the 21st century. Research on the regulation of ethical sensitivity in persons with HIA is scarce and necessary, suggesting that children and adolescents with HIA are superior and earlier in ethical sensitivity than their typical peers. However, cognitive excellence does not predict excellence and its development; therefore, the importance of regulating and guiding the broad ethical sensitivity of people with HIA is highlighted. The objective of this study is to explore what is the ethical sensitivity of schoolchildren with HIA compared to typical ones. A sample of n = 21 schoolchildren, previously diagnosed with HIA, and an age-matched control group of n = 23 schoolchildren of average intelligence is studied through their answers to the ATHRI questionnaire. The multivariate general linear analysis reported intergroup differences showing the highest and earliest ethical sensitivity in schoolchildren with HIA compared to typical schoolchildren from 8 to 9 years old, but not at 10 years. The generalizability coefficient was high (0.842). Educative derivations are suggested to guide the regulation of ethical sensitivity in children.

Background: Recent studies show that adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) have high incidence of major osteoporotic fracture, especially hip fracture. In those ≥ 50 years, women and men with ID have an approximately two and four times higher rate of hip fracture than women and men without ID. Increased awareness of osteoporotic fracture risk in ID may lead to wider use of antiresorptiverugs (bisphosphonates and denosumab) in this population. We aimed to compare, between people with and without ID, the incidence of 1) major side effects, namely medication related osteoporosis of the jaw (ONJ) and oesophagitis; 2) oral pathology, which can be a risk factor for ONJ. Methods: Exploratory study investigating safety of first line osteoporosis medication within the population of a previous study comparing fracture incidence in people with and without ID in the GOLD database of the Clinical Practice Research Datalink 1998-2017. Results: The percentage of people on antiresorptive drugs was identical in the ID and non ID group (1.4%). The number of individuals who developed ONJ and oesophagitis during the study was too low to allow an accurate estimate of incidence of the events and a comparison between the two groups. The incidence of any oral pathology was 119.31 vs 64.68/10000 person year in the ID vs non ID group. Conclusions: Medication related ONJ and oesophagitis are rare in people with and without ID. There is no reason based on our findings to use antiresorptives differently in people with ID as in the rest of the population. However, the potential for side effects of antiresorptives will inherently increase with wider use of these drugs. Given the higher incidence of oral pathology in people with ID, which could put them at higher risk of ONJ, precautions should be taken to prevent this complication by attention to oral health.

From a neuroconstructivist approach and a developmental model of high intellectual ability (HIA), it is argued that the management of intellectual resources through executive functioning (EF) is one of the factors influencing the expression of high potential. The main objective is to determine the effectiveness of measures of executive functioning used comparing schoolchildren with HIA and those of average intelligence. A meta-analysis was carried out on a selection of 17 studies for a total sample of 1518 children with either HIA or an average level of intelligence. Pooled estimates of effect size revealed a significant difference favoring the HIA individuals in the two components of EF related with WM verbal (d = 1.015), and WM visual-spatial (d = 0.709). Other components did not show significant differences: inhibition (d = −0.014), flexibility (d = 0.068), and planification (d = −0.038). The empirical heterogeneity was very high. It is concluded that these instruments show a degree of measurement impurity, which condition their validity and reliability, and that schoolchildren with HIA display better executive functioning in the components of verbal and visual-spatial working memory.

The current understanding of high intellectual ability (HIA) involves considering the multidimensional nature of the skills that comprise it. In addition, conceptual advances related to how individuals manage the high intellectual resources available to them may help explain the possible gap between performance and high levels of competence. Understanding the role of executive functioning and metacognition in relation to the management of these resources is essential. Nonetheless, to date, the trajectory of their study is diverse, and empirical and measured evidence in this regard is limited. Thus, the objective of this work was to understand the relationship between executive functions and metacognition (and its components), as well as the measurement of these factors and their reliability. The study sample comprised schoolchildren (n = 43) with an HIA and a control group (n = 46) of schoolchildren with typical intelligence levels. Network analysis revealed differential intergroup connections between the executive functioning components as well as between those of metacognition and for each construct. The greatest relational weight was for metacognition components, with the most robust relationship being found in the group with HIA with metacognitive regulation, flexibility, and verbal working memory versus metacognitive awareness and inhibition in the typical group. Measurement derivations and their application in educational interventions to optimise the expression of high potential are also discussed.

The recent educational legislation in Spain shows a great interest in enhancing the talents of all citizens. Different models of identification and intervention for students with high intellectual abilities (HIAs) coexist. The assessment model based on intelligence is still in force in the psychoeducational guidance field; however, from the research, other multidimensional and developmental models are prevalent, rethinking the nature of giftedness and talent, as well as identification and educational practices. These models consider HIA as potential in development, depending on the interrelation among neurobiological bases, personal, and environmental conditions. Efforts are being made to detect high-ability students. The most common intervention measures are the school enrichment of the curriculum, curricular adaptations, and acceleration. Several universities and some autonomous communities (i.e., school districts in the states) have organized extracurricular enrichment programs, some for longer than 10 years. The training of specialized teachers in high abilities has substantially increased, both in the Ministry of Education and autonomous local communities. Universities have also included some subjects in their programs related to this issue of gifted education with specific training designed in postgraduate courses. The research agendas of HIAs currently focus on studying metric approximation, identification and profiles, cognitive functioning and creativity, management of cognitive resources, socioemotional characteristics, gender, enrichment programs, and their effectiveness.

This paper proposes to analyse the relationships between depression and high intellectual potential through a multidisciplinary and original approach. Based on their respective experience in psychology and child psychiatry, the authors will focus their analysis on creative potential. First, relationships between creativity (literary, artistic, or scientific creativity) and melancholy (“melancholy” comes from the Greek words for “black” (“melas”) and “bile” (“khole”)) will be examined from antiquity to modern times. Aristotle introduced a quantitative factor, asserting that levels of melancholy and black bile are positively correlated; however, under a given threshold of black bile, it can give rise to an exceptional being. Second, the case study of Blaise Pascal (scientific and philosophical creativity associated with major depressive episodes from childhood) will be presented and discussed. This case study sheds light on the paradoxical role of depression in the overinvestment in intellectual and creative spheres as well as on the impact of traumatic events on high intellectual potential. Third, observations will be reported based on a study conducted on 100 children with high intellectual potential (6–12 years old). Finally, based on these different levels of analysis, it appears that heterogeneity of mental functioning in children with high intellectual potential is at the center of the creative process and it has related psychological vulnerability.

This cross-sectional study aimed to examine the effects of being swayed in a sway bed on children with severe motor and intellectual difficulties by examining potential differences in their autonomic and emotional responses, as well as their muscle hardness, and by comparing them with “a control condition without any stimulation”. Children’s heart rate variability, rectus femoris hardness, and passive hip abduction range of motion (ROM) were measured in two experimental conditions, differentiated by the presence of a 5-min sway stimulus. In each condition, the children’s faces were video-recorded and retrospectively rated subjectively by their homeroom teacher concerning the visible expression of eight emotions. Significant intervention-related effects were observed on the heart rate variability and the “Relax” item of the emotional response indicators but not on muscle hardness or hip ROM. Our findings provide evidence that using a motorized sway bed can promote relaxation in children with severe motor and intellectual disabilities by influencing their autonomic response.

AbstractEarly diagnosis of osteoporosis and estimation of subjects that are at high risk for fracture, is neccesary for osteoporosis treatment. Dual-energy X-ray absorptometry (DXA) is a modern method for bone mineral density (BMD) evaluation. However, along BMD, clinical risk factors may significantly influence fracture development. Therefore, FRAX algorithm was designed for the assessment of a ten-year risk for serious osteoporotic fractures (SOF), as well as hip fractures. In the current study, we tried to evaluate the possible lumbal spine and hip BMD influence on ten year risk for SOF and hip fractures and potential role of FRAX in predicting the therapy in postmenopausal women with osteopenia. We performed the study on 385 postmenopausal women. According to the DXA measurements, at the lumbal (L) spine (L1–L4) and hip (femor neck), patients were then classified as normal, osteopenic, or osteoporotic. BMD evaluation included the L spine and the hip (subgroup 1), and only on the L spine (subgroup 2). By filling up the FRAX questionnaire, a ten-year risk for SOF fracture and hip fracture was calculated. BMD evaluation, in complete patient’s group and in subgroup 1, resulted in the highest number of osteoporosis (61.04%, 48.08%, retrospectively), while ospeopenia was a main finding in subgroup 2. In the subgroup 1, a high risk for SOF and hip fracture was detected in 16.45% and with high risk for hip fracture in 11.38% subjects. In subgroup 2, only high risk for hip fracture was observed in 3.16% subjects, indicating the active medicament treatment. Simultaneously, correlation of BMD results with FRAX values for SOF and hip fracture, showed significant negative correlation (p<0.001). Obtained results showed significant role of femur neck BMD evaluation in predicting the future factors, which may, together with FRAX analysis, improve the therapy approach in postmenopausal women with ospeopenia.

Problems of development of intellectual potential of Russian young people are revealed. The components of intellectual potential are highlighted, among which a special place is for motivation for mastering knowledge, abilities, skills, willingness to take risks and uncertainty, information culture, etc. It is proposed to determine intellectual potential of young people, based on levels of development of its components. Requirements for educational environment for development of intellectual potential of modern youth are described as well. The conclusion is made, that intellectual potential of modern youth must be formed in a specific educational environment with specific conditions.

Abstract
Objective – To investigate the perceived alignment between academic library services and high-impact practices (HIPs) that affect student retention.
Design – Survey questionnaire.
Setting – Public comprehensive universities in the United States of America with a Carnegie classification of master’s level as of January 2013.
Subjects – 68 library deans or directors out of the 271 who were originally contacted.
Methods – The author used Qualtrics software to create a survey based on the HIPs, tested the survey for reliability, and then distributed it to 271 universities. Library services were grouped into 1 of 3 library scales: library collection, library instruction, or library facilities. The survey consisted of a matrix of 10 Likert-style questions addressing the perceived level of alignment between the library scales and the HIPs. Each question provided an opportunity for the respondent to enter a “brief description of support practices” (p 477). Additional demographic questions addressed the years of experience of the respondent, undergraduate student enrollment of the university, and whether librarians held faculty rank.
Main Results – The author measured Pearson correlation coefficients and found a positive correlation between the library scales and the HIPs. All three library scales displayed a moderately strong positive correlation between first-year seminars and experiences (HIP 1), common intellectual experiences (HIP 2), writing-intensive courses (HIP 4), undergraduate research (HIP 6), diversity and global learning (HIP 7), service learning and community-based learning (HIP 8), internships (HIP 9), and capstone courses and projects (HIP 10). The library collections scale and library facilities scale displayed a moderately strong correlation with learning communities (HIP 3) and collaborative assignments and projects (HIP 5). The library instruction scale displayed a strong positive correlation with HIP 3 and a very strong positive correlation with HIP 5. Each of the positive correlations was of high significance. As the rating of library alignment with each HIP increased, so did the total rating of each library scale. Along with the quantitative data, various themes for each HIP relating to the library’s support practices emerged from the qualitative feedback. No significant trends were noted from the demographic questions.
Conclusion – Library deans or directors can utilize the conceptual framework presented in this study to connect the impact of library services to terminology and practices commonly understood by university administrators. Further research using the conceptual framework would benefit future discussion on how academic libraries measure impact or success of their library services.

Socio-economic development of Ukraine in the medium and long term is impossible without a radical reform of intellectual property as a basis for intensifying innovation processes. The generalization of tendencies and experience of the leading countries of the world concerning creation, protection and commercialization of objects of the intellectual property right revealed the strong and weak positions of Ukraine. Thus, Ukraine is in the group of leading countries in the generalized indicator of activity for filing applications for industrial property by country of origin, has a high position of the relevant indicators of the Global Innovation Index for 2020. Domestic inventors retain the potential to create objects of intellectual property rights mainly for protection in the domestic market: the number of applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty system does not exceed 200, which is 320 times less than the inventors of China. However, the gross expenditure on R&D in GDP is 6-10 times lower than in the leading countries of the world. The low level of the national system of intellectual property protection is evidenced by the fact that Ukraine is under the supervision of the Office of the US Trade Representative and in the EU Priority Watch List, which includes countries with the most serious problems in the field of intellectual property protection. The experience of the EU and the USA in the context of reforming the system of protection of intellectual property rights in the domestic and foreign markets, including counterfeiting, falsification, piracy and plagiarism, is important for Ukraine. The potential for the commercialization of intellectual property is evidenced by the high position of the relevant indicators of the Global Innovation Index, in particular on the export and import of intellectual property rights. The basis of Ukraine's innovation policy should be formed using a modern methodological approach based on demand, in particular, on public procurement, updating the regulatory environment, supporting private demand and more. This approach will facilitate the commercialization of R&D results and objects of intellectual property rights.

In Kazakhstan, the approach to this area is not sufficiently developed, there is no systematic and scientific justification in the management of intellectual resources of the country and regions. Therefore, Kazakhstan is faced with the urgent issue of creating opportunities for the effective use of intellectual capital in the regions, working out management mechanisms and technologies. The development of the region can be traced to the development of intellectual potential in the region. Given the high intellectual potential of the population living in the region, it can be concluded that this region is not lagging in economic development. To determine the potential of the local population, it is necessary to consider the factors influencing it. In this connection, the purpose of this article is to determine the level of factors affecting intellectual potential in the regions of Kazakhstan. During the study, the methods of observation and comparison, system analysis, synthesis and logic were used. In the course of the analysis, it was revealed that in Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Karaganda region, East Kazakhstan region, the components constituting the intellectual potential show a high dynamics of development. There are also regions with low rates of development of components of intellectual potential, these are Almaty region, Akmola region, Turkestan region. For the complex and varied development of regions, appropriate strategic and tactical management decisions should be made, considering the specifics of each region. The factors identified because of the study can become the basis for developing a methodology for assessing the intellectual potential of regions. The research results can be used in programs and strategic plans aimed at developing the intellectual potential of the regions.

Introduction. The global practice of economic growth in European countries shows that their determining factor is the formation and development of the intellectual potential of society. Recent changes in the structure of the economy, particularly a growing share of intangible products and information technologies, have necessitated changes in scientific approaches to economic security issues in a country. Objective processes influenced by the growing role of the knowledge economy have changed the world's attitude to priorities in favour of the intellectualisation of labour based on innovation, the introduction of high-tech processes, and the integration of science, education, and entrepreneurship. There is a fundamental reassessment of the human factor, making intelligence and high professionalism of the workforce a priority commodity in the labour market. Aim and tasks. This study aims to propose the main directions and a set of organisational and economic measures aimed at creating conditions for the efficient use and development of intellectual potential at all levels as the foundation of the economic security of EU countries. Results. The study uses the methodology for developing the model to calculate ranking coefficients of the impact of elements of intellectual potential formation on economic growth in EU countries (GDP per capita). It has been established that the most significant influence on the formation of intellectual potential on GDP per capita of EU countries is exerted by the intelligence quotient (RCF C1y= 465,387), education level index (RCF C12y = 434,390), human resources with tertiary training and engaged in technology and science (RCF C5y = 389,842), population with tertiary education (RCF C6y = 297,585), share of R&D personnel and researchers in the total active population (RCF C3y = 290,678), and participation rate in education and training (RCF C8y = 285,960). Conclusions. The study proved that the key to this should be the growing role of the state in motivating the employed population to intellectual self-development and maximising the use of intellectual potential in the labour sector. A comprehensive assessment has shown that the intellectual potential of the employed population is not fully utilised in the economies of European countries, which worsens the prospects for accelerating innovation development and economic growth. Further research should be carried out to increase the competence of the organisation as a result of attracting new technologies and methods of intellectual potential management in accordance with rapid changes in the environment.

Hip-hop music in Bulgaria is not just a style of popular music but a cultural choice and political stance. This paper explores Bulgarian hip-hop songs and artists as bearers of the communal and political through the poetic. The analyzed songs and videos of Zhluch, Atila and Upsurt from the latest wave of Bulgarian rap are symptomatic examples of the unifying characteristics of the two lines (“joking around”, “folk” and “high”, “intellectual”) of rapping as a pop culture with a dynamic nature of tension and struggle. The musical play and intertextual references illuminate the role of technology as a means and form in the political game: remixes, digital sampling as expressions of the fun, contrasting, parodic, and carnivalesque recreation of reality are catalysts for challenging the status quo.

Myositis ossificans (MO) is defined as a lesion where abnormal ossification forms in soft tissues, such as muscle, fascia, and ligament, usually as a result of trauma. It commonly appears in areas such as the thigh, hip, and elbow, though it can affect any part of the body. In the forensic field, MO resulting from trauma is reported to be valuable evidence of repeated physical abuse. This case report describes a deceased adult male with an intellectual disability, whose cause of death was multiple injuries from assault. Postmortem computed tomography (PMCT) and autopsy findings revealed MO of both thighs associated with repeated physical abuse. This case also showed typical findings of MO on PMCT imaging, characterized by well-defined, high-density lesions within the quadriceps. Adults with intellectual disabilities are at high risk of abuse and assault. Therefore, autopsy findings of MO can serve as important evidence in forensic practice, considering the possibility of repeated abuse.

Globally between 30-40% of all osteoporotic fractures occur among men, with a quarter of all hip fractures, the most serious complication of osteoporosis, occurring in men. Among men of 50 years of age or older, osteoporotic fracture risk reaches an alarming 20%. What is of great concern is that associated mortality is greater among men when compared with women. For hip fractures specifically, mortality for men is two to three times that in women which may be attributed to the fact that osteoporosis is often considered a “women’s disease”. Of great concern is that there is a paucity of bone health investigation among men with intellectual disability. In the Intellectual Disability Supplement to The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing, objective bone status of 244 men was measured using a quantitative ultrasound. Participant’s also self-reported doctor’s diagnosis of health conditions including osteoporosis, medication and fracture history with the assistance of key workers/family. Ethical approval for the study was obtained from the Faculty of Health Sciences Trinity College and all participating service providers. Overall, 70.9% of men presented with poor bone health, with 57.8% taking at least one medication that contributed to osteoporosis/osteopenia. Men had a high prevalence of fracture (21.7%) despite this less than 18% had attended bone health screening. In light of these findings, it is time for the spotlight to focus on men’s bone health and for healthcare professionals to realise how ‘at risk’ of osteoporosis are men with intellectual disability. Projections place men on a trajectory of continuous increased risk of fracture in comparison to women.

In connection with the above, the younger generation, including high school students, generally have many ideas, but not all of them have been realized. Therefore, this community service aims to provide an introduction and understanding related to intellectual property, to beginners, namely students from the Islamic Integrated High School (SMA IT) Putri AL Hanif in Cilegon City. The introduction and understanding of Intellectual Property need to be introduced to the students of SMA IT Putri Al Hanif from an early age by implementing Intellectual Property completely and correctly, there is a great opportunity for students and students to produce quality and highly competitive works. With this service activity, the school's awareness of the importance of Intellectual Property arises and fosters motivation to be creative and innovate. In general, Intellectual Property has not been exploited to its full potential, both in higher education and in secondary schools.
The results of this community service can provide understanding to students, especially SMA IT Putri Al Hanif Cilegon City regarding Intellectual Property material which includes Communal Intellectual Property (Traditional Knowledge, Traditional Cultural Expressions, and Geographical Indications), Personal Intellectual Property (owned by industry). In the provision of service material, it is divided into 3 different classes, namely Language Class, Science and Social Sciences. They are very enthusiastic in listening, understanding, and discussing the introduction of intellectual property (IP). Therefore, there is a follow-up from the school to improve the work of its students so that the work is given legal protection through the intellectual property registration application process.

Abstract. Ukrainian economic development innovative model formation is accompanied by the scientific and technological developments, and high breakthrough nature technologies introduction. These circumstances objectively set Ukraine the task for interaction strengthening of higher education, science and innovation, intellectual potential effective use as the main driver of socio-economic growth. The article substantiates the strategic priorities for Ukrainian intellectual potential development in the formation of knowledge-based economy social transformation conditions. A new essence understanding of the category «intellectual potential of society» is proposed. In the knowledge-based economy paradigm, the main social goal is human and his labor and intellectual development. The priority place of man in the system of modern socio-economic development is substantiated and its triune role as a source of national wealth, its part and purpose of social development is proved. Global and national challenges for Ukraine in the context of preventing degradation and destruction of existing intellectual potential are described. Emphasis is placed on the fact that the national intellect as the most valuable humanity capital, as well as knowledge becomes the main driver of value creation. It is proved that Ukrainian intellectual potential development can be ensured by competitive education, leading science, innovative technologies and spiritual culture. In our opinion, the state policy of intellectual potential development and use in Ukraine as a component of the national policy should be relevant. A set of measures to activate the intellectual potential use is identified. Results. The composition of the economic category of «intellectual potential» is determined on the basis of generalization of characteristics based on scientific developments of researchers on effective management at an enterprise. It has been found that the existing contradictions between the object and subject in the process of intellectual potential management should be resolved with the help of economic instruments: purpose, goal, principles, methods, ways and indicators of enterprise performance evaluation. Novelty. The article proposes a methodical approach to effective management of the intellectual potential of an innovative enterprise, the essence of which is a systematic step-by-step assessment of economic instruments aimed at harmonizing production and economic interests between objects and subjects in the course of creating high-tech products. The structural composition of the process of balancing the harmonization of production and economic interests between the subject and the object in the field of innovation activity includes: goals and objectives of development of an innovative enterprise, tools for ensuring the efficient use of the intellectual potential of an enterprise, principles for ensuring the efficiency of use of the intellectual potential of the enterprise and expected results in the form of knowledge-intensive products. To reduce costs, a cobalt-free FeMnCrNi-based HEA has been proposed. Further investigation into the mechanical properties of the Fe36Mn21Cr18Ni15Al10 alloy is essential to expand its application potential. In this study, a cobalt-free Fe36Mn21Cr18Ni15Al10 HEA was fabricated using LMD, and the effects of HIP on its microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated. Results indicated that the as-printed specimen exhibited a dual-phase structure consisting of BCC and FCC phases, with the B2 phase dispersed as fine blocks. After HIP treatment, the content of the FCC phase significantly increased, displaying a lamellar distribution between the BCC phases, with secondary block-like B2 phases forming within the BCC matrix. The HIP process enhanced the density of the high-entropy alloy to 98.2%, while the tensile strength at 25 °C increased to 903.9 MPa. Additionally, the post-fracture elongation improved to 17.4%, thereby increasing the potential for industrial applications of HEAs.

One of the main factors influencing the country's economic growth is human potential. The weak social policy of the state, namely, the perfection of the health care system, education, social protection of the population, employment, and the law-enforcement system, leads to negative consequences for the loss of the human potential of the country. In turn, this dynamics is characterized by irreversible losses of human potential as a result of illnesses and the emigration of able-bodied citizens abroad, the loss of "intellectual (intellectual) potential", the refusal of young people to give birth to children due to their low standard of living, and lack of confidence in the future. Losing Ukraine's human potential may in turn slow down economic development in the middle of the country, to the loss of the traditionally high level of human potential of Ukraine and, by weakening the country's overall potential, to the risk of territorial claims of neighboring countries.

Introduction. The development of the intellectual potential of human resources of Ukraine at the current stage as an important factor that allows an effective use of national resources and ensures the prosperity of the country in general have been studied. Goal. To research on development of the intellectual potential of human resources of Ukraine. To achieve this goal, the following tasks have been formulated: to investigate the essence of development of the intellectual potential of human resources; analyze and evaluate the current state of the intellectual potential of human resources in Ukraine; formulate the key aspects of development of the intellectual potential of the country’s human resources. Research methods. Methods of statistical, systematic, structural analysis and generalization were used. The results. The essence and significance of development of the intellectual potential of human resources have been studied, the state of the intellectual potential of human resources in Ukraine has been analyzed and assessed, and a study of the scientific and innovative capacity of the Ukrainian economy has been carried out according to the indicators of world ratings. The results of our research showed the scientific and innovative industries, which are important elements of the future of the national economy, are currently experiencing difficult times in Ukraine due to lack of funding, loss of talented people, high risks, lack of public attention etc. Other factors influence this sphere, the most serious of which is Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. The position of Ukraine in the international ranking of innovative development indicates the presence of a high level of scientific and educational potential, which is the basis of the competitiveness of the scientific and innovative spheres of Ukraine and is the basis for development and innovation, new equipment and technologies. However, according to the results of our assessment of the scientific and innovative potential of Ukraine, a number of problems were identified: the presence of ineffective and weak mechanisms for implementation and further commercialization of innovations in the field of economic activity; insufficient level of support and financing of innovative projects; low level of cooperation between innovative companies and scientific institutions. The results of assessment of the scientific and innovative potential of Ukraine indicate the need to develop and implement a unified and coordinated scientific, technological and innovative policy. It indicates the need for serious steps towards the necessary structural changes in the economy and science, technological modernization of production and promotion of innovations in business. The key aspects of development of the intellectual potential of the country’s human resources are formulated. Conclusions. The main provisions of the scientific article will contribute to the effective development of the intellectual potential of Ukraine's human resources.

Abstract Purpose The prevalence of hip and groin problems in professional male ice hockey is unknown and suspected to differ between playing positions. The purpose of this study was to explore potential differences in the seasonal prevalence of hip and groin problems between playing positions in male elite ice hockey players and to explore the relationship between symptom duration and hip and groin function at the beginning of the new season. Methods Male ice hockey players [n = 329 (92 goalkeepers, 93 defensemen, 144 forwards), Mean age (SD): 24 (5)] from the professional leagues in Sweden responded to an online survey. The survey assessed presence of hip and groin problems (time loss and non-time loss) and symptom duration (categorized into 0, 1–6, or > 6 weeks) in the previous season, and current self-reported hip and groin function (Copenhagen Hip and Groin Outcome Score). Results During the previous season, 175 players (53.2%) had experienced hip and groin problems. Non time loss problems were experienced by 158 (48%) and time loss problems were experienced by 97 (29.5%) players. No significant differences between playing positions were found. Self-reported function differed significantly between players with different symptom duration and more disability was reported among players with longer symptom duration (p ≤ 0.002). Conclusion Regardless of playing position, hip and groin problems were prevalent in male ice hockey players. Players with hip and groin problems during the previous season had significantly worse hip and groin function in the beginning of the new season, and longer symptom duration was associated with more disability. Topicality. Today, in a highly competitive environment, ensuring the innovative development of the enterprise is becoming an increasingly important task. The modern economy and global development processes encourage businesses to innovate and develop their existing intellectual potential, which is an important source of continuous development and opportunities for companies to adapt to market demands. Creation, building and realization of intellectual potential is possible only in the long run, which indicates the relevance and necessity of the study of intellectual potential as an important component of innovative development of the enterprise. Aim and tasks. The aim of the article is to study the intellectual potential as a component of innovative development of the enterprise. To achieve this goal the following tasks were solved: the concept of innovative development of the enterprise and its components were considered; identified intellectual potential as an important component of innovative development of the enterprise; the main indicators of innovative development and activity of Ukrainian enterprises are analyzed. Research results. The concept and components of innovative development of the enterprise are considered in the article; identified an important component of innovative development of the enterprise - intellectual potential; the main indicators of innovative development and activity of Ukrainian enterprises are analyzed. It is the innovative way of development that will stabilize and develop the activities of enterprises, provide Ukraine with a worthy place in the world and overcome the crisis. However, the innovative development of the state is impossible without sufficient intellectual potential, which in modern conditions is an important factor in ensuring innovative development in combination with effective and efficient financial, economic, legal mechanisms of the state. It can be said that for any country, education and innovation should become one of the most important areas of development in terms of long-term prospects of the country, its potential and competitiveness in today's world. Therefore, innovation development is not considered without the construction of a new innovative intellectual resource. An example for Ukraine can be Switzerland, which shows the best results among the world's leading countries in terms of economic openness and integration of human capital, or Sweden, which has a well-organized and efficient work of state institutions in implementing innovation, high level of staff skills. in the field of innovative technologies and processes, many universities and students that develop and implement innovations.

The article presents the results of an empirical study of the intellectual and personal potential of employees of the FPS of Russia who are at the initial stage of official activity in an educational organization. The study involved 275 employees of 4 specializations ("Penitentiary psychology", "Logistics in the penitentiary system", "organization of the regime in the penitentiary system", "Operational search activity"). To assess the intellectual and personal potential of employees of the FPS of Russia, the following methods were used: "Career orientation questionnaire" by E. Shane in adaptation by V.A. Chiker, V.E. Vinokurova "career Anchors";" Personal profile " by G. Eysenck (Eysenck Personality Profiler) in the adaptation of K. Sugonyaev; test "word Exclusion"; subtest "Numerical series" of the intelligence structure test by R. Amthauer in the adaptation of K. Sugonyaev; "Advanced progressive matrices" by J. Raven. The structure of the intellectual and personal potential of employees of the FPS of Russia includes the following factors: verbal intelligence, nonverbal intelligence, high-speed intellectual, aggressiveness-impulsivity, sociability-anxiety, autonomy, service-motivational. Employees of the FPS of Russia who are at the initial stage of official activity can be classified into separate personality types that differ in intellectual and personal potential: constructive, mediocre and unbalanced. After analyzing the average intellectual-personal potential of each of the three personality types according to objective performance criteria implementation, service and educational and professional activities, revealed the most favorable service activities of the FPS of Russia personality type.

Enterprises of high-tech industries of electronic, machine-building and other sectors of the economy, on the one hand, and research centers of academic, applied and educational institutions, on the other hand, make a counter search. The purpose of such a search is to identify research that is in demand by industry enterprises for conducting projects and manufacturing high-tech products, and to find the addresses of enterprises that are in demand by research institutions for marketing their scientific and innovative products. Practice shows that measures to search for targeted information are carried out for a limited time and, as a rule, at the first stages of the project. With this approach, the available information sometimes does not have time to reach its consumer on time. A similar situation is observed in the counter search – institutions, as a rule, are limited in the forces and means that are required when searching for potential consumers for the results of their research and when conducting contractual activities. For the efficiency of decision-making on the management of knowledge-intensive production projects, in particular, robotic systems, due to the timely equipping of enterprises with the information they need about the results of research, the task of building a decision-making module for intellectual support of such projects is being solved. The goal of this module is to ensure the intensification of the processes of timely delivery of information about new knowledge in the field of high-tech industries to enterprises-manufacturers of microelectronic components, devices and to enterprises-developers of robotic systems. The basic basis of the decision-making module, which has a novelty, is its architectural model, built to implement the process of automatic recognition of the address of an enterprise that is a potential consumer of the results of a new study, and the process of transmitting data about these results in accordance with the address for use in projects for the development of new electronic components and for the production of robotic systems based on them.

The purpose of the present research is to reveal the global structure of intellectual capital flows, in which upstream emigration of scientists and researchers from donor countries enriches the intellectual capital and potential of the recipient countries, while intellectual products and technologies from recipient countries go downstream to donor countries. The research uses expert judgement to collect data. Institutional and comparative analyses are used to explain the structure of intellectual capital flows and to identify the reasons for the upstream emigration of intellectual capital and the downstream export of intellectual products. Econometric methods are used to explain the relationships between indices and scores. We reveal that all countries can be conditionally divided into two categories, namely donors and recipients of human intellectual capital. Donors supply scientists and researchers to recipient countries, and recipient countries supply high-tech products to donors. This situation is not only justified from the perspective of the international division of labor, but is also beneficial for both donor and recipient countries, as donors receive the necessary technology from recipients, and recipients replenish their need for scientists to create high-tech products. This constant circulation leads to the further impoverishment of developing countries, while at the same time becoming the basis for the enrichment of highly developed countries. According to the results of the study, we can conclude that three main characteristics act as factors to describe the global flows of intellectual capital: 1. As recipient countries offer better living and working conditions, higher wages and more secure human rights, the outflow of scientists from donor countries seems to be a natural phenomenon. 2. Research shows that donor countries lack the demand for scientists and their development, as these countries receive high technologies and products from recipient countries, which means that donor countries' policy is aimed at reducing their funding for science. 3. On the contrary, the demand for scientists in recipient countries is growing as high-tech products become the main export commodity. Recipient countries of intellectual human capital have no other export opportunities – they are poor in minerals and the high-tech sector is the only way to balance the country's payments.

Hip fracture is the most common type of injury in elderly people and is associated with a high incidence of complications and risk of mortality. In these patients, subsequent pulmonary infection can contribute to the development of an acute lung injury, a consequence of the systemic inflammatory response induced by hip fracture. Although the crucial role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in inflammatory responses has been established, the functions of miRNAs in the inflammatory responses associated with lung injury after hip fracture remain poorly understood. In this study, we explored the potential role of miR-205-5p in lung injury after hip fracture in an in vivo hip fracture model and in vitro cultures of human pulmonary alveolar epithelial cells (HPAEpiC). An analysis of clinical serum samples revealed increased levels of miR-205-5p and high mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) after hip fracture. A bioinformatics analysis and dual-luciferase reporter assay identified HMGB1 as a potential target of miR-205-5p. The overexpression of miR-205-5p clearly reduced the expression of HMGB1 and inhibited NF-κB signaling, apoptosis, and proinflammatory cytokine production while enabling continued cell proliferation. Our results demonstrate that the upregulation of miR-205-5p suppresses inflammatory responses and promotes cell viability and proliferation by selectively targeting HMGB1 in the context of lung injury after hip fracture. Therefore, miR-205-5p may be an alternative target of therapeutic strategies for lung injury after hip fracture.

Background/Aim: Hip fractures among the elderly are a major public health problem that cause high rates of morbidity and mortality. There are many studies regarding prevention and defining the underlying causes of hip fractures. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potential (cVEMP) test responses of elderly patients without vestibular symptoms hospitalized due to fall-related hip fractures in order to evaluate the subclinical vestibular dysfunction rates in patients with hip fractures. Methods: Twenty-two patients aged 67-79 hospitalized due to fall-related hip fractures and 24 control patients presenting to the orthopedic clinic due to knee pain were included in the study. The participants underwent detailed otological examination and cVEMP tests. The two groups’ cVEMP records were then compared. Results: The demographic characteristics of the participants in the patient and control groups including age, gender, and race were similar. There was no statistically significant difference between the groups’ absent VEMP response rates. No significant difference in terms of P1 and N1 latencies was determined between the right and left ears in either group. The hip fracture group (study group) had significantly increased P1 and N1 latencies in cVEMP which is associated with central vestibular dysfunction. (P=0.008 and P=0.007, respectively). Conclusion: The rate of subclinical peripheral vestibular dysfunction, which can be identified by cVEMP evaluation, is increased in elderly patients with hip fractures caused by low energy trauma. Precautions like vestibular rehabilitation can be a preventive measure for hip fractures in the elderly.

Historically, the growth of intellectual capital has been associated with the trend of an increasing market capitalization of firms, but in practice the consequences of investing in companies that use intellectual capital are often not clear. Studying the relationship between intellectual capital and the ability of companies to generate a stable revenue as an indicator of investment attractiveness is becoming a relevant area of research. The purpose of this article is to study the influence of the intellectual capital of companies on their performance, and, consequently, on possible decisions of investors. The main hypothesis was an assumption about positive significant impact of the dynamic and static structural, relational and human capital of companies on the company's ability to generate revenue and retain a certain market share throughout the year, and, consequently, demonstrate its attractiveness to potential investors. Research method: regression analysis using logistic models, based on proposed models. The likelihood of the high performance of companies is determined under the influence of intellectual capital components, which would determine potential positive decisions made by investors using financial indicators, such as revenue and market share. In contrast to previous studies, we distinguish between static and dynamic elements of intellectual capital in the models to assess the likelihood of high performance. The hypotheses about the influence of the elements of intellectual capital on the company's revenue and their ability to retain market share, which together are indicators of performance reflecting the investment attractiveness of companies, were confirmed. The results show a moderate positive relationship between revenue, market share and quality metrics for static and dynamic intellectual capital. Elements of relational and structural capital play a key role in achieving performance. From the practical point of view, managers can rely on the results of the study when developing investment strategies and revealing the drivers of investment attractiveness growth in companies that intensively use intellectual capital.

Background: Hip fractures are a major public health concern among elderly individuals. This study aimed to investigate potential perioperative factors that predict 1-year functional outcome, quality of life (QoL), care demands, and mortality in geriatric patients with a hip fracture. Methods: We prospectively enrolled geriatric patients who had undergone hip fracture surgery in one medical center from December 2017 to December 2019. Basic demographic data, handgrip strength, and responses to questionnaires for QoL and activities of daily living (ADL) before the injury were collected at baseline. QoL, ADL, additional care demands other than family support, and mortality events were monitored at 1 year after the operation. Results: Among 281 patients with a hip fracture, 39 (13.9%) died within 1 year of the index operation. The mean follow-up interval for the survivors was 403.3 (range: 358–480) days. Among the 242 survivors, ADL and QoL considerably decreased at approximately 1 year following hip surgery. Up to 33.9% of the participants became severely dependent and needed additional care at 1-year follow up. Prefracture ADL status was the crucial predictor for functional outcome, QoL, and additional care demand at 1-year follow up. Cox regression models indicated that male sex, low preoperative serum creatinine, handgrip strength, long surgical delay after a falling accident, and high Charlson Comorbidity Index were considerably associated with a high 1-year mortality risk in the geriatric hip fracture population. Conclusion: Hip fracture has long-lasting effects (e.g. functional loss, decline in QoL, increased care demands, and high postoperative mortality rate) on the geriatric population. A robust screening method must be developed for identifying potential prognostic factors, and a stratified care approach must be used that accounts for personalized risks to improve functional outcomes and reduce mortality after hip fracture in geriatric patients, especially in Taiwan.
