Повний текст джерелаThe aim of this study is to increase knowledge about how young transgender people experience the treatment at youth guidance centers which have a lgbtq-certification. Because in Sweden transgender people have bad experience with the treatment from the staff, especially in health care centers such as the youth guidance center, and even at centers which have a lgbtq-certification. Previous research in, both Sweden and other countries, show that transgender people, in contact with the health care and other social work centers, have experienced discrimination, questioning and lack of knowledge which on these occasions they needed to teach the staff about lgbtq-issues. Because of this kind of bad treatment transgender people have lost trust in health care centers and don’t dare to seek help. These studies have even shown that other transgender people have experienced good treatment when the staff have respected them and accepted their gender identity. This is a qualitative study, based on semi-structured interviews that have been made through the phone with six persons who identify as transgender but have different definitions about their gender identity. They have been in contact with youth guidance centers which have a lgbtq-certification one or several years before this study was done. This study has been made with inductive method where a theory has been chosen from the data. The theory which has been chosen is recognition, which is about when an individual’s identity is being recognized or morally hurt. The conclusion is that young transgender people have different experiences of treatment at the youth guidance centers. Many of them have experienced a good treatment where the staff have shown concern, respect, acceptance and understanding for their gender identity. Some of them have experienced bad treatment where the staff have presumed their gender, misgendering and questioning. Some staff have lack of knowledge in trans-issues but some of them have treated the young transgender people with respect. It seems that the most important thing for transgender people is that the staff treat them with respect, more based upon their values rather than their knowledge.

Повний текст джерелаThe County Council of Västmanland regularly conducts the survey Liv & hälsa ung Västerås, which investigates the health of young people in the ninth grade in elementary school and the second grade in high school. The next survey will be conducted in January and February 2017. The County Council want to develop the questionnaire to raise the awareness of conditions affecting young lgbtq [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer] –persons, and that is why these questions are now in focus. Therefore, the aim has been to investigate how young lgbtq-people experience the questionnaire Liv & hälsa ung Västerås and how they perceive that it can be developed. To answer the purpose, a qualitative study has been conducted and based on semi-structured interviews. The people interviewed are young lgbtq-people under the age of 26. Data were analyzed with a manifest content analysis. The result of the interviews revealed that people did not feel represented in the survey, as the questions and answers was perceived as restrictive and prescriptive. The development potential was that the questionnaire could be more inclusive, and that there is need for further clarification of certain terms (e.g. sexual intercourse). Finally, if these changes can be proceeded, the health of young lgbtq-people can be strengthened. If they can identify and express themselves as they wish, an improved access to high quality care, on equal terms, can be achieved. The right health interventions can be implemented and become a priority when the health conditions are visible to the county.

Resumo: Foi estabelecido um processo para a fabricação em laboratório de Transistores Bipolares de Heterojunção (HBTs), em AIGaAs/GaAs. O trabalho consistiu basicamente do estudo das etapas elementares de fabricação. Foi projetado um conjunto de máscaras incluindo dispositivos em diferentes tamanhos e estruturas de teste. Com este conjunto de máscaras, as etapas de processamento de HBTs foram estudadas e transistores HBT foram fabricados. Foi analisado um método para se determinar com precisão o ponto de parada de etch úmido, consistindo da medida da currente reversa em um diodo Schottky formado entre a superfície semicondutora e uma ponta de tungstênio. Com este método foi possível expor com precisão a camada de base. A abertura de vias de contato em paredes em ângulo controlado foi obtida transferindose o ângulo de inclinação de uma parede de fotorresiste para a parede da via em polyimide. Estruturas de metal para contatos ôhmicos baseadas em AuGe, para contatos n+ e Ti/Pt/ Au, para camadas p+, ambas obtidas por evaporação por feixe de elétrons, seguida de um ciclo térmico para liga ou sinterização, foram analisadas para o uso em dispositivos de pequena geometria ...Observação: O resumo, na íntegra, poderá ser visualizado no texto completo da tese digital
Abstract: A process was established for the fabrication in laboratory of Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors (HBTs) with the AIGaAs/GaAs system. The work consisted basically of the study of elementary processing steps. A mask set was designed including devices in different sizes and test structures. With this mask set, the processing steps for HBT fabrication were studied and HBT transistors were obtained. A method to stop wet etching precisely on the base layer was analysed. This method consists of measuring the reverse currente in a diode formed between the surface of the layer being etched and a tungsten probe and allowed precise base layer exposure. The opening of contact vias with precise wall angle control was achieved by tranfering the pattern of a photoresist tilted wall to a polyimide via. Contact metallization strucures based on AuGe for n+ layers and Ti/Pt/ Au for p+ layers, produced by e-beam evaporation followed by an alloy or sinthering cycle was analysed for usage in small geometry devices and contact resistivity as low as 1x ?10 POT. ?6? ?ômega? ?cm POT.2? were achieved for both cases. An empirical model was developed, implemented and tested to simulate the behavior of fabricated devices. Повний текст джерелаBackground: As a group, LGBTQ persons tend to suffer from some physical and emotional health issues to a greater extent than the general population. In addition, research has shown that they may receive inferior health care in the form of verbal harassment or denial of care, because of their LGBTQ identity. This is contrary to nurses´ core competencies, which include offering equal care to all patients as well as promoting a non-discriminatory health care environment.Aim: The aim of this study was to illustrate how LGBTQ persons´ experience health care situations and events.Method: A literature review based on ten qualitative studiesResults: The results showed that LGBTQ persons often struggle with “coming out” to health care personnel. Lack of knowledge of LGBTQ issues, discriminatory communication and hetero- and cis-normative assumptions about sexuality and gender identity were prominent factors that generated negative experiences. Negative health care experiences sometimes lead to inferior health care in terms of missed medical examinations, or the choice to not seek health care.Conclusion: It is important for their overall health that LGBTQ persons have positive health care experiences. Negative experiences are due to hetero- and cis-normativity while positive experiences are characterized by openness, acceptance, respect and professionalism. To optimize the experiences and the quality of health care for LGBTQ persons, heath care personnel should be given the opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of LGBTQ issues.Key words: attitudes, experiences, LGBTQ persons, healthcare personnel, healthcare

Повний текст джерелаLesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people (LGBTQ) has historically been stigmatized and neglected, both globally and in Sweden nationally. In general individuals not ascribing to heteronormativity have been discriminated in society, and in nursing care and research. A result of the heterosexual norm is that other sexual orientations and gender identities are regarded as abnormal. The nurse meets people belonging to the LGBTQ group on a daily basis, and knowledge of interaction is required. The purpose of this study is to investigate the experiences that LGBTQ people has gained in contact with health care personnel in Sweden. This empirical study is qualitative in design using one open question; “We wish to know your good or less good experiences in the encounter with health professionals in Swedish health care”. Sampling of respondents is by traditional snowballing, electronic snowballing through Facebook and by putting up posters. Data collection is by an electronic form on the Internet. Data from 18 informants is analyzed using qualitative content analysis based on Lundman and Granheim (2008). The results are presented in the domains good experiences and less good experiences. Experiences of neutrality and open-minded staff left the respondents satisfied and with positive experiences. To be excluded and unconfirmed of one’s identity created negative experiences, as well as being violated and receiving an offensive treatment based on one’s sexuality or identity. A less positive experience is being exposed to the heteronormative approach and being valued on the basis of this. A negative experience is created by a faulty or poor communication, influenced by verbal and body language and written communication information. These experiences create a low expectation of the care received by LGBTQ people, and unwillingness to be open about their identity in the context of healthcare provision.

Повний текст джерелаBackground: Young LGBTQ persons experience more discrimination and poorer health than other young people. The school offers an important arena for an including and health-promoting setting. According to The Swedish Education act and The Swedish Discrimination act everybody should be treated equally regardless of gender and sexual orientation. To prevent that students get subjected to degrading treatment LGBTQ-affirming work with a norm-critical perspective can be organized by the head teacher and the rest of the school staff. School nurses can work with LGBTQ issues to promote protective factors and prevent illness in LGBTQ individuals. Several schools in Sweden are LGBTQ-certified but there is a lack of research about school nurses´ experiences of the education. Aim: The purpose of the study was to investigate school nurses´ experiences of LGBTQ certification. Method: Datacollection was conducted using interviews with seven school nurses. In the study a qualitative method with an inductive approach was used, the data was analyzed with qualitative content analysis. Results: The analysis resulted in three categories; Organizational factors, School nurses´ LGBTQ work and The importance of fundamental values in schools. Conclusion: The result of the study shows that organizational obstacles counteracts the implementation of LGBTQ work. A prerequisite for successful effects of LGBTQ certification is that all school staff lead by the head teacher are well informed about LGBTQ issues. Furthermore, the result reveals challenges with LGBTQ work with legal guardians and students in multicultural settings.

Повний текст джерелаAim: The purpose of this study was to determine which experiences and perceptions health professional have of working with lgbt-issues. Background: In Sweden we have come a long way with the observance of equality and anti-discrimination work, but there are studies showing that there are people among the lgbt-community still feel mistreated and violated in health care. Therefore, the authors of this study feel that it is important to shed light on this problem. Method: A qualitative method with interviews was chosen and was conducted in two primary healthcare centers. The centers had different experiences of working with lgbt-issues. Both centers are located in the same medium-sized town in Sweden. All respondents were over 18 years old and had at least ten years of work experience in the health care profession. Qualitative content analysis was used to analyze the collected material. Results: The analysis resulted in four categories: development, equal rights, normativity and culture at the workplace. It was showed that the center with longer experience had an open and allowed climate in their workplace. This made it possible for the staff to create a safe place for both their patients and their colleagues. The informants also highlighted that it is important to have a non-heteronormative attitude and a neutral language. The staff that had undergone lgbt-certification perceived that the need and desire for more knowledge existed and the need of a follow-up of the certification was needed. During the interviews several informants talked about fear of saying the wrong thing or making a fool of themselves. Conclusion: To strive to work with a neutral language and a non-heteronormative attitude is important. It is also essential to have a permissive and open environment in the workplace, both for patients and staff's sake. Throughout this study was that there is great need for training in lgbt issues in all professional groups in healthcare

Повний текст джерелаBoth international and national policy documents determine that young people's health should be prioritized. There, young lgbtq-people are referred to as a priority group, since the health of this minority group is worse than the average, especially their mental health. The risk of exclusion is greater because lgbtq-people are a stigmatized and marginalized group with an increased risk of discrimination, threats, violence and abusive treatment. Culture, society's norms and values affect the preconditions for young lgbtq-people achieving good health. Therefore, the purpose was to investigate social exclusion among young lgbtq-people in Västmanland, as well as studying if social exclusion could be associated with having mental health issues. To accomplish this, the study adopted a deductive quantitative approach where cross-sectional design and secondary data from Survey of Adolescent Life in Västmanland 2014 have been used. The study finds it more common for lqbtq-adolescents and people who are unsure about their sexuality or gender identity to live in social exclusion than among heterosexuals. It also showed that it is more frequently experienced by bisexuals and unsure people. Similar findings were found regarding mental health in which young lgbtq-people and people who are unsure about the sexual orientation, sexuality, gender identity or gender expression, more often had mental health issues. There was a correlation between being a young lgbtq-person or unsure and living in social exclusion and having mental health issues. Concurrantly lgbtq-adolescents and unsure had a greater risk of being affected by both of those, where heterosexuality can be seen as a protective factor. Повний текст джерелаIn everyday social life people are anticipated to live as a heterosexual individual. Previous statements from historical research show that heteronormativity also act in Swedish and Western welfare providers. The aim of this study is to investigate the issues surrounding LGBT and LGBT people and how the subject and people are presented by accommodation managers in sheltered housing for older people. The study is located in a middle sized Swedish city. The study ́s empirical base is gathered through five semi-structured interviews of accommodation managers. The study revealed that all managers shared the view of equal value for all people. However the LGBT topic revealed to be invisible in the organization due to low priority and no discussions on the subject in any level of the organizational structure. No education or information deemed to have been given to the employees, and it was not by the majority necessary to give any education or information in the subject of LGBT because they believed that no persons within the facilities were LGBT. Finally, it appeared that housing managers portrayed the thoughts of a brighter future for LGBT people, the younger generation is thought to be more open and free for other sexual orientations other than heterosexual, but that training would be more important to the staff than today.
