The WHO Global Oral Data Bank (GODB) demonstrates wide varieties of dental caries levels. During the last 10 years, dental caries prevalence in many countries has decreased from very high and high to moderate and low levels. However, there also are countries where dental caries has increased from very low and low to a moderate level. In total in 1993, of the 158 countries for which the WHO GODB has data available, 16 countries indicate a very low level (69 - low, 53 - moderate, 17 - high), and only three a very high level of dental caries. Very high levels of dental caries have been recorded in Costa Rica, Jamaica, and Uruguay. All these data, based on the weighted mean of DMF in 12-year-old children, have been obtained from national surveys or collected from published papers on oral health surveys conducted in selected areas of the countries. Very often, these papers indicated an increase (or decrease) in dental caries in people living in different areas of a particular country; however, the DMF weighted mean at the national level is still without change. One of the most populated countries in the world, China, shows clear evidence from several recent epidemiological studies that the level of dental caries in the urban population is persistently increasing. Namen: V članku so na primeru zgodovine ter področij delovanja Narodne čitalnice v Kranju od njene ustanovitve leta 1863 do razpustitve leta 1941 predstavljeni pomen in vloga čitalnic, predhodnic današnjih knjižnic.Metodologija: Uporabljena je bila historična metoda na osnovi kritične analize virov in gradiva.Rezultati: Kranjska čitalnica je bila skozi celotno obdobje delovanja osrednja mestna kulturna ustanova, saj je združevala knjižnico, gledališče, pevski zbor ter godbo, prirejala slovesnosti in postavljala spomenike, pogosto pa se je angažirala tudi politično. Kljub ne pretirano visoki kvaliteti prireditev so bili z nastankom čitalnice položeni temelji za poznejše kulturne ustanove v mestu.Izvirnost raziskave: Zaokroženje in dopolnitev dozdajšnjih spoznanj iz zgodovine in delovanja čitalnice.Omejitve: Arhivski viri za proučevanje zgodovine čitalnice so razmeroma skromni.

Abstract This article addresses the diachronic development of so-called rival forms, i.e., words or grammatical constructions that appear to be synonyms, based on a detailed empirical analysis of two seemingly synonymous constructions in Russian. Corresponding to the English ‘decade construction’ in the twenties, Russian has two rival constructions, viz. v dvadcatye gody [lit. “in the twentieth years”] (with the numeral and noun in the accusative) and v dvadcatyx godax (with the numeral and noun in the locative case). Three hypotheses about rival forms are considered: leveling (whereby one form ousts its rival), sociolinguistic differentiation (whereby the two rivals survive in different varieties of a language) and semantic differentiation (whereby the two rivals develop different meanings over time). Contrary to what has been suggested in the literature, we find little evidence for semantic and sociolinguistic differentiation. Instead, we demonstrate that leveling is taking place, since the accusative construction is in the process of ousting its rival. While our study shows that corpus data facilitate detailed analysis of the interaction between leveling, sociolinguistic differentiation and semantic differentiation, our analysis also points to limitations, especially when it comes to corpus-based analysis of sociolinguistic and semantic factors.

Batik is one of the traditional heritages of Indonesia, with each motif of batik having a profound cultural and philosophical significance. This article introduces Batik Nitik 960 dataset from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The dataset was extracted from a piece of fabric with 60 Nitik patterns. The dataset was supplied by the Paguyuban Pecinta Batik Indonesia (PPBI) Sekar Jagad Yogyakarta collection of Winotosasto Batik and the data were extracted from the APIPS Gallery. Each of the 60 categories in the collection contains 16 photographs, for a total of 960 images. The photographs were acquired with a Sony Alpha a6400, illuminated with a Godox SK II 400, and the data were compressed using the jpg file format. Each category contains four motifs rotated by 90, 180, and 270 degrees. Thus, the total number of images per motif is 16. Each class has a specific philosophical significance associated with the motif’s origins. This dataset aims to enable the training and evaluation of machine learning models for classification, retrieval, or generation of a new batik pattern using a generative adversarial network. To our knowledge, this study is the first to present a Batik Nitik dataset equipped with philosophical significance that is freely accessible.

Анотація:

Despite its hepatoprotective effects and favorable metabolic effects, the association between carnitine-orotate complex (Godex®) intake and mortality has never been investigated. We enrolled 13,413 adults who underwent national health examination and were prescribed the carnitine-orotate complex. Subjects were classified into three groups based on duration of using carnitine-orotate complex: <30, 30–180, and ≥180 days and were followed-up until 2019. Hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for all-cause mortality were estimated using Cox proportional hazards regression. During the follow-up period, 708 deaths were documented. Adjusted HR of mortality was 0.69 (95% CI 0.51–0.92) in those who used carnitine-orotate complex for ≥180 days compared to those who used it for <30 days. Use of carnitine-orotate complex for ≥180 days was associated with significantly reduced mortality in individuals with metabolic risk factors such as obesity, metabolic syndrome, dyslipidemia, and fatty liver than the shorter period of use. A significant interaction was observed in individuals with type 2 diabetes (HR 0.43, 95% CI 0.29–0.63, p-value 0.001). In this nationwide study, longer use of carnitine-orotate complex was associated with improved mortality compared to a shorter period of use, and the risk reductions were prominent in individuals with metabolic risk factors.

I.I. Shuvalov, after reading the poem Man-Godby Genu-Soalhat de Mainvilliers, decided to commission its author to write an epic poem about Peter the Great; he invited the potential author to Moscow and gave him the post of a teacher in the gymnasium of the Imperial Moscow University, which he fulfilled for a very short time. He carries out the commission to completion; but the epic becomes obsolete at the time of publication, incurring (both the content and one of the engravings in the edition) the wrath of Empress Catherine II. This poetic work meets with an unkind reception. It differs in character from most epic poems, being less ‘poetic’ and more down-to-earth than other representatives of the genre, and containing few elements of the genre’s obligatory or nearly obligatory features or the epic poem’s characteristic topoi. There are few touching or horrific scenes; there is only one duel. The epic consists of ten books. It has been seen as a subjugation to Voltaire’s Henriade. This is only partly true. Such a number among the authoritative repre-sentatives of the genre, apart from Voltaire, is contained in Lucan’s Farsaliaand Camoens’ Lusiades. Menvillier’s structuring ‘prophetic’ part is contained in Book VI (Voltaire’s in Book VIII, Lucan’s in Book VI, Camoens’ at the end). Assuming that the original idea envisaged 12 books (which is hinted at by the uneven distribution of material: five books before the ‘prophetic’ contain the prehistory, while four are devoted to almost the entire Northern War), one would expect the structure to reproduce the Aeneid. It would be interesting to consider its ideological conception in the context of the use of the figure of Peter in Russian propaganda addressed to Western European countries.

About the Eschatological Tension in the Understanding of the Kingdom of GodBy Elisabeth Albinus GlenthøjIn order to characterize briefly Grundtvig’s ideas about the Kingdom of God, the following statements are crucial: The Kingdom of God will break through visibly at the Second Coming of Christ. Until then the Kingdom is present to Faith and Hope through the Holy Spirit.The tension between the eschatological, visible Kingdom of God and the presence of the Kingdom now is a common theme in Grundtvig’s hymns. This study seeks to trace the development of Grundtvig’s theology towards his fully developed view of the Kingdom of God. The subject of the study is the great hymn, .The Land of the Living., from 1824, which contains beginnings of Grundtvig’s more elaborated view. The basic texts of the study are sermons by Grundtvig from 1821 to 1824, the period in which the eschatological tension emerges.Sections I to II.A. bring a chronological outline of the development of Grundtvig’s theology during the period until and including the year 1824. Section II.B. examines »The Land of the Living« in the light of this outline. Throughout the study the emphasis is on the emergence of the eschatological tension.From his parents Grundtvig inherits a belief in a Kingdom of God hereafter, but as Grundtvig experiences the presence of the Lord through the Holy Spirit - in his own life and in the Church - the theology develops towards an understanding of the Kingdom of God as already present to Faith and Hope through the Holy Spirit. The future visible Kingdom illuminates the life of the Church already. Thus the eschatological tension emerges.The continuity between the future and the present Kingdom of God is found in the union with Christ through the Holy Spirit. This union is granted in Baptism and is nourished first and foremost through the Eucharist, and, next, through prayer and words of praise. Grundtvig’s experience of Pentecost underlies »The Land of the Living«: The Holy Spirit builds up the heart of man to become a temple for the Father and Son (stanza 12). Stanzas 7 to 11 elaborate the content of this unity with the Trinity. From here originates the life of the Church in the love of God and of one’s neighbour, a life which, through the Holy Spirit, takes man closer to the likeness to Christ; the goal is reached in Eternity. Wherever the love of God prevails, the Kingdom of God is present (stanza 13); that is where men are »co-operating witnesses to the divine struggle of the Spirit against the flesh«, against everything »which seeks to ... wipe out His image, destroy His temple within us« (Eighth Sunday after Trinity, 1824).

This study examines the religiousity ofCerita si Palui in the Newspapers of Banjarmasin Post, edition of Ramadhan months of 2014-2016. The result obtained are as follows: (1) the value of theideological dimension found in the collection of Cerita si Palui in the newspaper ofBanjarmasin Post consists of three parts: showing that Islam is truly a religion ofmonotheism , the Oneness of God (Tauhid) and the Oneness Of moral. The value ofthe ideological dimension shows that Islam is a truly monotheism, a belief in itsGod. God’s belief is single or personal and the belief in doing God’scommandments. The value of the ideology dimension of God’s Oneness (Tauhid) isto look humanity as equal in the eyes of God. Meanwhile, the value of theideological dimension of moral imbalance is the realization of the existence ofGod, the faithfulness to his angels and the belief in his books. (2) the value of thedimension of rituality (religious practice) found in the collection of Cerita si Paluiin the newspapers of Banjarmasin post, edition of Ramadhan monts consists of twoparts of ritual and obediens. The value of the ritual dimension is a formal religiousact and sacred practice that expect the adherents to perform and the moment whenone can perform the concentration of worship in the month of Ramadhan.Meanwhile, the value of the dimension of obedience is a form of obedience to Godby performing worship: praying and fasting. (1) Nilai dimensi ideologi(keyakianan) yang ditemukan pada kumpulan cerita si Palui di surat kabarBanjarmasin Post edisi bulan Ramadan terdiri dari tiga bagian, yaitumenunjukkan bahwa Islam benar-benar agama monotheisme, Ke-Eseaan Tuhan(Tauhid) dan Ke-Eseaan Moral. Nilai dimensi ideologi yang menunjukkan bahwa Islam benar-benar monotheisme ialah keyakinan terhadap Tuhannya, KeyakinanTuhan itu tunggal atau personal, dan keyakinan menjalankan perintah-perintahAllah. A Word by the Son of GodBy Jørgen ErtnerIn the Jubilee Year 1983, a hitherto unknown Grundtvig letter emerged. The letter, dated May 28., 1844, was written to the vicar Ferdinand Fenger in Lynge near Soro, who was one of the clergyman friends that Grundtvig visited on his recuperational journey in May 1844 during the crisis that had hit him earlier that year. This letter throws new light on the hymn »Sleep sound, little child« (Sov sodt, barnlille) as regards its genesis as well as its content. Thus, on the basis of this letter, it is now possible to determine the chronological order of the composition of the stanzas, and to prove that the stanzas written first, presumably during the visit to Peter Rordam in Mem, are stanzas 1, 3 and 4 (following the counting in Den Danske Salmebog, DDS no. 488), while stanzas 2, 5 and 7 were composed later, presumably during Grundtvig’s stay at Gunni Busck’s in Stigs Bjergby, all stanzas with variants compared with the later known form. In particular, the letter, so far not used in Grundtvig research, sheds new light on the understanding of the significant variant in stanza 4 (DDS), the original expression ≫Maggot-Tongue≪, which can be traced back to Job 25,6. In the letter Grundtvig writes that the expression ≫Maggot-Tongue≪ is most fitting in an angel’s mouth for ≫us poor imitators of Him who said: ‘I am a worm, not a man’≪ (Psalm 22.7 in the Old Testament). It is ≫moreover an old medicine for my old Adam≪, Grundtvig adds, that is a medicine for his haughtiness, perhaps referring to the crisis of 1810. In very much his own manner Grundtvig combines Job 25,6 and Psalm 22,7 as an expression of the community with Christ in the hour of doubt and feeling forsaken by God. We are poor imitators of Christ, who in the midst of doubt and feeling forsaken by God maintained the community with God in prayer (cf. Psalm 22,2). Psalm 22.7 and 22,2 merge and become the Lord’s Prayer which, through Christ’s presence in the hour of doubt and feeling forsaken by God, becomes our prayer, which reaches God, who says ≫yes≪ to that prayer, because it is ≫a word by the Son of God≪. Thus it is the Lord’s Prayer, given to man in baptism that becomes Grundtvig’s help in the crisis. The thesis also points out how this understanding corresponds to the ≫discovery≪ of the Lord’s Prayer at which Grundtvig had arrived, at least from the late 1830s, a ≫discovery≪ on a par with ≫the matchless discovery of the Apostles’ Creed≪ as it has been shown by Christian Thodberg, an understanding of the Lord’s Prayer which is a precondition for the Lord’s Prayer being so helpful in the crisis as it turned out to be.In August 1884, in a letter to Peter Rordam, Grundtvig could write that through the crisis he had gained a new, clearer insight into life and the relation between Our Lord and man. At the end of the thesis it is shown how this ≫new≪ awareness finds its expression in a sermon on the 11th Sunday after Trinity where the Lord’s Prayer occupies a prominent position, a sermon that is echoed in a couple of contemporary hymns, where, for one thing, the word ≫maggot≪ about man occurs, and where, for another, it is said about Christ that He writhes like a worm in the earth. These are wordings that point back to the crisis in 1844 and to the hymn ≫Sleep sound, little child≪.

Анотація:

A new family of distributions called Gamma Odd Burr X-G (GOBX-G) distribution is introduced in this paper. Its structural properties such as the density expansion, quantile function, moments and generating functions, incomplete moments, probability weighted moments, RÂ´enyi entropy and order statistics were derived. Maximum likelihood technique is used to estimate the parameter of this model and simulation results are provided. The flexibility and applicability of this model is demonstrated using real life datasets.
