In Surkhandarya region, agriculture (cotton, wheat, viticulture, subtropical fruits) is well developed on the basis of favorable natural geographical conditions and labor resources. However, there is no balance between the processing industry and the production of agricultural products. This is due, firstly, to the fact that ginneries don’t work at full capacity due to the decline in cotton production, secondly, to the lack of industrial enterprises processing fruits, grapes and other products. The article focuses on the field of horticulture in Surkhandarya region, highlights the achievements and shortcomings of this sector, and provides suggestions and recommendations.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the influence of geographical location and natural resource potential on the formation of socio-geographical monosystems types in the Carpathian region. Method. General scientific methods, including analysis, scientific synthesis, analytical method, methods of comparison and generalization have been used. By applying the coefficient of openness of the region's economy, an assessment of the level of influence of state borders on the involvement of the Carpathian region in interregional economic ties has been made. Scientific novelty. The article analyses the geographical position of the Carpathian region from the standpoint of evaluating it as a resource capable of activating internal (endogenous) and external (exogenous) factors and natural resource potential as determinants of the monodevelopment of socio-geographical systems in the Carpathian region. Analysis of the dynamics of the coefficient of openness of the regions' economy in the Carpathian region of Ukraine and their level of import dependence showed a significant influence of the border location on the intensity of the region's involvement in interregional cooperation, which makes it possible to solve specific economic and social issues directly for the border regions. However, despite the openness of the economies of the regions of the Carpathian region, they are quite import-dependent. It should be noted that the openness of the economies of the regions in the Carpathian region determines the exogenity of the monosystem development of socio-geographical systems at the local level. It has been proven that the transboundary position of the Carpathian region significantly affects the exogenity of local monosystems. The checkpoints available in the region are formed as monocenters of the exogenous type with a pronounced function of international cooperation. Thus, the geographical position is a determining factor in the formation of monosystems types according to the source of their development. Practical meaning. The results of this research contribute to a deeper socio-geographical understanding of the processes of monodevelopment of socio-geographical systems, their genesis, the peculiarities of their flow and provide an opportunity to model their prospective development, to achieve the expected results because of long-term transformation. They can be used for further research of monosystems of different hierarchical levels, as well as for the development of practical recommendations and programs for the development of individual monoterritories.

Geographical and regional-economic studies are explored approaches to studying the content and features of tourism marketing, including its regional aspects. The analysis of scientific publications on the problems of the scientific reflection of regional aspects of tourism marketing is presented. Considered and substantiated expediency of separation the terms “regional tourism marketing” and “marketing of the tourist region”. Are substantiated necessity and expediency of application of the category of the geographic region as a complex territorial system as an integral object of regional marketing in tourism; features and principles of such application are considered. It is emphasized on the necessity of applying the principle of regionalism because system-geographical and regional-economic aspects are one of the foundations of regional tourism marketing. It is noted that in scientific research on the basis of a systematic approach, it is usually necessary to take into account two aspects: ontological and epistemological. It is determined that the region is a socio-geographical system, which first of all represents an interconnected set of various quality elements (nature-population-economy) in conditions of an integral territory. The features of perspective approaches to the geographical deepening of the principles of regional tourism marketing are outlined. The authors state that in accordance with the geographical methodology, the hierarchy of geographical regions is divided: the zonal region-macroregion – mezoregion – microregion – nanoregion. Based on the study, indicated the urgency of the task of applying geographic approaches to the substantiation of the essence and methods of evaluation of tourist resources, identification and substantiation of the marketing essence of the forms of territorial localization of the tourist sphere, a comprehensive analysis of the territorial structure and regional differentiation of the tourist product, substantiation of geoecological norms, analysis and optimization of transport-territorial systems as elements of a tourist product and as elements of the infrastructure of the region.

Many Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest plant and animal species are geographically restricted to Southern Bahia and Northern Espírito Santo States. We investigated the geographic distribution of epiphytic bromeliads in the lowland forest of the Una region (15° 17' 34' S - 39° 04' 30'' W) in Southern Bahia. Specifically, we addressed the following questions: i) what is the extent of each species distribution?; and ii) are the Bromeliaceae subfamilies distributed differently from one another? Almost half of the 40 species (47.5%) occur exclusively in the Southern Bahia-Northern Espírito Santo region and are herein referred as endemic species. The highest percentage of the 15 species of Tillandsioideae (46.7%) occur throughout the South American Continent and most of the 25 species of Bromelioideae (68.0%) are mainly represented by endemic species. The Una region has almost two times more species than a forested area located 40 km west, suggesting marked increases in diversity in over relatively short distances. The endemism data around Una indicates that species are geographically distributed over an area spanning approximately six to seven degrees in latitude and longitude. This result contrasts with the geographic distribution of Andean epiphytes, mainly represented by Tillandsioideae, that have large geographical distributions. Larger-scale analyses and standardized methods are necessary to verify whether the narrow geographical distribution of most epiphytic bromeliads in the Una region is consistent across different forest types of the Atlantic Rainforest.

The Geographical Indication is an instrument of protection to products and services that have intrinsic value. The cities of Bento Gonçalves, Flores da Cunha, Monte Belo do Sul, Farroupilha, Paraty, Urussanga, Salinas and Abaíra are highlights in the Brazilian agricultural sector. These regions have territorial demarcations with a Geographical Indication certification, where the producers live in the same region and can sell their own products with this seal of quality. An analysis has as a starting point the following study problem: Is the success of the implementation of a Geographical Indication linked to the development of the region? The results showed that only the Gross Domestic Product per capita is not sufficient to prove a record of Geographic Indication was actually implemented successfully in a certain region or not, however it can be observed that in the developed regions the trend is much higher.

In the context of reforming secondary and high school education in Ukraine, the geographic education of the region and the country as a whole should be considered as a system that includes initial, basic, preprofessional and professional level. Currently, there is no overall picture of the status and trends of development of the various segments of geographic education in the Lviv region that are necessary to consider while constructing regional education policy. The article defines quantitative indicators of the subjects of the learning process in geography on various educational levels and in territorial aspect. This study reveals that during next five years, the best prospects regarding quantitative indicators will have basic geographical education, due to relatively favorable situation with the number of pupils in primary schools of the region. The article shows in detail the educational achievements of geography students at regional and national levels; points the centers for optimal development of geographic education such as Lviv, Drohobych, Sambir, Stryi, Chervonograd; and reveals scientific and methodological improvements of teachers of geography in the region. The research analyzes the contradictory trend between quantitative growth of professional sector of geographical education (opening of new regional university departments) and the needs of secondary school in specialists, and between socially conditioned restriction of employment of young professionals because of growing proportion of retired among teachers of geography. It was found that 65% of graduate students of department of geography at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv do not mind working in education and respectively can replace within 5–7 years all teachers of geography at pre-retirement and retirement age in the region. However, the lack of effective educational policies at national and regional levels prevents replenishment of school’s segment of geographical education by young professionals, and thus slows down the process of modernization of education and its real reform. In this study, the energy analyses of wheat production were compared for various geographic regions as Central Anatolia, Black Sea, Mediterranean, Eastern Anatolia and the Marmara. For this purpose, the data obtained from different studies conducted in these geographical regions were used. Five key indicators to assess the energy analyses in wheat production in the geographical regions of Turkey (energy profitability, specific energy, energy efficiency, energy use and net energy) were considered. As a result, the lowest specific energy was obtained in the Mediterranean/Adana region with 2.22 MJ kg-1, while the highest specific energy was obtained in the East Anatolia with 10.51 MJ kg-1. The lowest and highest energy use efficiency was obtained with 2.36 and 7.88 in the Black Sea/Samsun and East Anatolia/Erzurum region, respectively. The highest energy use rate is fertilizer energy in total input energy of the wheat production for geographical regions of Turkey.

The scheme of soil-geographical zonation of Lviv oblast is developed on the principles of structural approach to the spatial organization of soil cover. Criteria for allocation of the ranked taxonomic units, their spatial and genetic properties are qualitative and genetic indicators of soil cover with the analysis of the spatial arrangement of soil combinations and structures. The following taxonomic units are identified in the proposed scheme of soil-geographical zonation: soil-geographic kraina (soil-geographic country), soil-bioclimatic zona/poias (soil-geographic zone/mountain belt), krai (region), okrug (county or mountainous soil region), rayon (district), masyv (massif). A mandatory criterion for all taxonomic units of soil-geographical zonation is the type of soil cover mesostructures (spatial-geometric characteristics of elemental soil areals and their spatial structures, as well as the dominated class of soil combinations). Two soil-geographic kraina (countries) are identified within Lviv oblast: the East European Plain and the Carpathians; three soil-bioclimatic zones: moraine-sander (popilnyakova) zone of mixed forests, broadleaf forest, forest-steppe (loess) and mountain-brownsoil zone; six soil krai: Malopoliskyi, Volynskyi, Roztots’ko-Opilskyi, Zahidnopodilskyi, Peredkarpatskyi highland, the Carpathian mountain; 13 soil counties and 4 regions. A geographical name is a name that identify specific feature on the earth. That features could be a settlement, administrative region, natural feature, artificial feature, unbounded region, or virtual region. Under the Law Number 4 of 2011 concerning Geospatial Information, the geographical name is one of the layer that must appear on the base map. The acquisition of geographical names can be facilitated by crowdsourcing map that are conducted by corporations or the public. The objectives of this study are 1) to carry out an inventory of geographic names through crowdsourced maps, and 2) to examine the opportunities and challenges of the study of geographic names in rural areas. We observed data from crowdsourcing maps, e.g., Google Maps, Here Maps, and OpenStreetMaps that cover Giripurwo Village. We used spatial comparison in this research. We also compared its appearances on various mapping scales. A field survey was conducted to get more qualitative information about geographical names and to test the accuracy of maps. The results showed that there were differences between the crowdsource map services in presenting the geographical names at the same scale level. We face constraints in this mapping, i.e. limited accessibility in the entire region and sparsely populated in a karst region. Conversely, the high participation of rural communities is beneficial in this mapping process.

This article substantiates the interdisciplinary nature of health and reveals the role of the medico-geographical approach in its study. The medico-geographical situation represents the health status of the population and the factors affecting it - the medico-geographical environment. On the example of the Perm Region, an integral assessment of health of the population was calculated and an assessment of the medico-geographical conditions was given, on the basis of which an assessment of the medico-geographical situation in the region was carried out. As a result, 14 medico-geographical areas were identified. The problems caused by the uneven health status of the population, the unequal availability of medical facilities and the standard of living are identified. The ways of optimization of this situation are considered: improvement of territorial and administrative division and management system, introduction of new forms of work and maintenance of medical institutions and formation of a healthy lifestyle and health care among the population.

After the October Revolution there was an urgent need for a new economic zoning of Russia. Under the leadership of the greatest scientists the Soviet Union was divided in to economic regions. After the collapse of the USSR and the emergence of a market economy, these regions have lost their meaning, and the new were not created. Therefore there was a need of a new zoning Russia, and not by economic regions, but by the complex geographical regions. This is a difficult task, but because of the author's opinion that geography should be a single, new geographical areas should reflect their historical, natural, economic, social, cultural view specifics. This approach will promote rational geographical division of labor in the country in a market economy. An attempt to new geographical zoning, with 10 allocated geographic regions: Capital, Central, European North, European South, North Caucasus, Volga-Urals, Western Siberia, Southern Siberia, Northern Siberia and the Far East. For each region area, population size and density, level of urbanization, natural, mechanical and overall population growth, GDP per capita, the structure of employment, Human Development Index were counted, and the appropriate analysis were made.

Purpose. The purpose of the study is ecological-geographical analysis of nature management in Ivanichi district of Volyn region. Method. During the scientific work the following methods of socio-geographical research were used: cartographic, comparative, observation, generalization, analysis and synthesis. The statistical method calculates the indicators of transformational changes by types of natural resources. The method of geoinformation modeling of the state of the processes of nature management and their development made it possible to reveal the relationship of transformed resources with the factors of influence. Results. An ecological-geographical assessment of nature management in the Ivanichi district of Volyn region has been carried out. The basis of the economic complex of the district is agriculture and processing industry. On the other hand, mining and machine-building industry prevail in the structure of Novovolynsk city economy. The influence of both natural and technogenic processes and factors on the formation of ecological and geographical situation in the territory of the district is substantiated. The specific combination of environmental management has led to the spatial differentiation of environmental stress and the varying degree of its implementation in the form of a spectrum of hazardous processes. The scientific novelty is the ecological and geographical determination of the types of economic nature management in the Ivanichi district of Volyn region. The analysis of the impact on the formation of the ecological situation in the area and the proposed measures for its optimization are carried out. Practical importance. The results of the study can be used in the educational process of the East National University named after Lesya Ukrainka in teaching a number of geographic and tourism disciplines. The results will find their application in the legislative and executive work of local governments in the development of programs for socio-economic development of the territory. The research materials will facilitate the rational use of economically transformed natural and anthropogenic territories and objects of the Ivanichi district of Volyn, which will increase the profitability and competitiveness of the exploitation of the objects of land and industrial fund. A number of provisions can be used in similar studies in other regions of Ukraine.

The article exposes general features of labour potential development on Kyiv region in comparison with other regions of Ukraine. Focused on analysis of factors of employment of the labour potential of the region from the standpoint of social geography. Socio-geographical factors of formation and the use of labour potential of the region are revealed. Research of labour potential of Kiev region allows you to understand which socio-geographical factors most strongly influence the modern formation and the use of the labour potential of the region in comparison with other regions of Ukraine. The article proposes 23 indicators of four subsystems with six components, which determine the formation and the use of labor resources in the region. Integral indices of certain subsystems were calculated, which reflect the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of labour resources potential, which dynamically change under the influence of socio-geographical factors. The method of factor analysis has been applied, which provided for the normalization of the indicators (taking into account their stimulating and disincentive impact) of the regions of Ukraine; aggregation of indicators in indices for components of labour potential and the calculation of integral indices of educational-cultural, medical-ecological, demographic and economic subsystems. According to the results of calculations of factor scales and the integral rank of labour potential development in the regions of Ukraine, the peculiarities of the formation and the use of labour potential in Ukraine and the corresponding influence of socio-geographical factors are revealed. According to the integral ranking of the assessment of the formation and the use of labour potential, five groups of regions have been identified. The brief characterization of the selected groups of regions in relation to the role in shaping the labour potential of their regional centres is given in line with the level of diversification of the economy and the impact on the socio-cultural development of the region and the country as a whole, determined in the gender of socio-geographic factors of labour potential development. Three main aggregate socio-geographical factors of formation and development of labour potential of regions of Ukraine (medical-ecological factor, educational-cultural factor, demographic and economic factor) and their influence were revealed. Significant disproportions were found in the level of labour potential development in the regions of Ukraine. The place of the Kiev region was described in accordance with their actions. Kyiv region belongs to a group of regions with a high level of labour potential with the most significant effect of demographic and economic factors. Kyiv region is described as Hinterland, which is in close social and economic interconnection with Kyiv, which certainly affects the market situation of the labour market.

The population of Western Ukraine decreases over the 2001–2016 years and at present is 9,356 thousands or 21 % of the whole population. Due to the slower pace of depopulation in comparison with other regions, the demographic weight of the Western region increases in the population of Ukraine. The rural population of the Western region decreases, while the urban population due to migration inflows increases. The level of urbanization in the Western region remains the lowest in Ukraine – only 49 %, but the rate of urbanization in the last 15 years was the highest in the country, except the capital region. Improvements in the economic activity and expansion of urban areas have a place in many cities. The level of population ageing of the Western region is the lowest in Ukraine and the more aged population is rural. Due to reduced fertility and the premature mortality, extremely rapid ageing of the urban population occurs. Because of the great migration losses in rural areas in recent decades, the level of ageing of the rural population is growing really slowly and in Volyn region, the rural population became younger. The birth rate here is the highest in Ukraine, especially in rural areas of Rivne, Zakarpattia, and Volyn regions. Therefore, the proportion of children in all types of settlements dramatically exceeds the average indicators among Ukrainian. The urban population of the region is characterised by a new European model of reproductive behaviour that defines the main demographic parameters: low fertility, including early birth, the dominance of nucleus families, and higher age for marriages. In general, the most favourable demographic situation is in Zakarpattia region and rural areas of Rivne region, which is mostly achieved by high birth rates, lower level of premature mortality and lower migration loss of reproductive groups. The worst demographic situation among the Western regions is in the Ternopil region, where demographic potential in the rural areas significantly decreased as a result of large migration losses and a rapid decline in fertility. The study and research of geographical names, a separate administrative region, makes it possible to analyze how the influence and role of natural resources, the history of settlement and development of the territory have affected the life of the population. Geographical nomenclature of a certain territory is called toponymy of this region. Toponymy is especially important for such disciplines as physical geography, topography, local history, historical geography, cartography, economic and social geography. In this article the concept of toponyms is considered, their classification is given. The toponymic zoning of Khmelnytskyi region is proposed. The influence of geographical, historical, cultural conditions on the emergence of toponyms of Khmelnytskyi region is investigated. The process of decommunization and derussification of geographical names of the studied territory is highlighted. The analysis of the source base shows that the toponymy of Khmelnytskyi region is closely connected with the history of the region, especially with its settlement. The toponymic system of Khmelnytskyi region under the influence of different epochs underwent constant changes that influenced the process of toponym formation. After analyzing the formation of the names of 131 rivers in Khmelnytskyi region, the length of which is more than 10 km, we obtained the following results: the largest number of names are formed by the characteristic properties (features) of water bodies, namely 23.3%. Also, a large number of names are related to the location of the water body - 20%. The smallest number of names are related to soil features - 1.5%. Of the 18 analyzed names of lakes in Khmelnytskyi region, the largest number of names are associated with the location of the water body, namely 6 names (Lake Krugle, Lake Ezerske, Lake Novostavske, Lake Terebizh, Lake Lisova Pisnya, Lake Lisove). Comonyms and astionyms of Khmelnytskyi region are divided into thirteen groups. The largest number of names of rural settlements are derived from a person's own name or surname (37.3%). Out of 37 analyzed astionyms 16 belong to anthroponyms. The largest number of settlements whose names are derived from a person's own name or surname. The smallest number oikonyms are of memorial origin (1.5%) On the basis of spatial localization of types of settlements similar in topoformant and uniqueness of their correlation, objectively existing hierarchical units of zoning were distinguished. The calculation of morphometric, as well as spatial toponymic characteristics of oikonyms of Khmelnytsky region, allowed to allocate: Volyn macro-region (1 rayon and 2 sub-rayons); Podil macro-region (3 rayons and 9 sub-rayons); Pivdenopodilskyi macro-region (2 rayons and 4 sub-rayons). Within the framework of decommunization and de-Russification in the Khmelnytskyi region during 2022, more than 800 streets and lanes were renamed, and about 1300 more objects should be renamed. Prospects for using the results of the study. The materials of this publication can be used for further decommunization and de-Russification of geographical names in Khmelnytskyi region. The developed scheme of toponymic zoning of Khmelnytskyi region can be taken into account in the toponymic zoning of the territory of Ukraine. Abstract We investigated the relationship between diet specialization and geographical range in Cophixalus , a genus of microhylid frogs from the Wet Tropics of northern Queensland, Australia. The geographical ranges of these species vary from a few square kilometres in species restricted to a single mountain top to the entire region for the widespread species. Although macroecological theory predicts that species with broad niches should have the largest geographical ranges, we found the opposite: geographically rare species were diet generalists and widespread species were diet specialists. We argue that this pattern is a product of extinction filtering, whereby geographically rare and therefore extinction-prone species are more likely to persist if they are diet generalists.

The Epstein–Barr Virus (EBV) infects the vast majority of human individuals worldwide (~90%) and is associated with several diseases, including different types of cancer and multiple sclerosis, which show wide variation in incidence among global geographical regions. Genetic variants in EBV genomic sequences have been used to determine the geographical structure of EBV isolates, but our understanding of EBV diversity remains highly incomplete. We generated sequences for 13 pivotal EBV genes derived from 103 healthy individuals, expanding current EBV diversity datasets with respect to both geographic coverage and number of isolates per region. These newly generated sequences were integrated with the more than 250 published EBV genomes, generating the most geographically comprehensive data set of EBV strains to date. We report remarkable variation in single-gene phylogenies that, when analysed together, show robust signals of population structure. Our results not only confirm known major global patterns of geographic variation, such as the clear separation of Asian isolates from the rest, and the intermixed relationships among African, European and Australian isolates, but yield novel phylogenetic relationships with previously unreported populations. We provide a better understanding of EBV’s population structure in South America, Africa and, by the inclusion of Turkey and Georgia, we also gain insight into EBV diversity in Western Asia, a crossroads connecting Europe, Africa and Asia. In summary, our results provide a detailed world-wide characterisation of EBV genetic clusters, their enrichment in specific geographic regions, novel inter-population relationships, and a catalogue of geographically informative EBV genetic variants.

Abstract The variety of geographical studies of a region is as great as the diversity of its “portrait” – characteristics and phenomena associated with it. A region has never been considered in isolation from its synonymous concept “district”. The most common interpretations of ‘region’ in the scientific environment and in the information space, its generally accepted definition remains the subject of scientific research, disputes and discussion. In accordance with the tradition established in recent years, the minimum administrative-territorial area in the territory, called a region, is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation. The article analyses foreign and domestic studies of the definition of a region, clarifies the author’s interpretation, and evaluates the parameters of the territorial taxon. The main problems of common features of the visualization of a region, its attractiveness, socio-economic factors of the vital activity of the population (standard of living, living conditions, quality of life), attitude to their region from the point of view of substantiation of their genesis and subjectivity of parameters are formulated. The article presents the results of a sociological survey conducted within the framework of quantitative-qualitative methodology among the respondents of the Volga Federal District. The analytical assessment of the most mass responses of the survey participants is given, visualized in the form of graphs.

This work presents the application of the NIR technique associated with exploratory analysis of spectral data by main principal components for the discrimination of Amazon cocoa ground seeds. Cocoa samples from different geographic regions of the state of Pará, Brazil (Medicilândia, Tucumã, and Tomé-Açu), were evaluated. The samples collected from each region were divided into four groups distinguished by the treatment applied to the samples, which were fermented (1-with fat and 2-fat-free) and unfermented (3-with moisture and 4-dried). Each set of samples was analyzed separately to identify the influence of moisture, fermentation, and fat on the geographical differentiation of the three regions. From the results obtained, it can be observed that it was not possible to differentiate the samples of seeds not fermented by geographic origin. However, fermentation was crucial for efficient discrimination, providing more defined clusters for each geographic region. The presence of fat in the seeds was a determinant to obtain the best model of geographic discrimination.

Geographical indications and designation of origins is an industrial property right describing a product originated from any region or attributable to any region due to its quality, reputation or other characteristics. Particularly, the geographical indications (GI) provide information about the raw material or final products’ geographical roots to consumers and characterize the degree of its quality. Two types of GI were defined: Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). On the other hand, the products that cannot be registered as a designation of origin or geographical indication could be registered as Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG) products specialty guaranteed if it can be proven that the product is on the traditional market for at least 30 years. The main goal of this research is to examine Turkey’s current status about labelled geographic agricultural material with a comparative statistic overview.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the general life satisfaction of the population of Rivne region by the constituent elements of life quality. Method. The method of population life quality research of Y.Krupnov was used. The general and static methods, systematic and structural analysis methods, comparative-geographical method have been applied. The regional and national statistics, profile agencies reports have been compiled. Results. The state of demographic well-being of Rivne region is defined as high, the region has one of the highest fertility rates in Ukraine and low numbers of natural decline. The assessment of the quality of life of the population in the category of "health" is with average values in Ukraine. The most common in the region are circulatory system diseases and neoplasms and a high mortality rate from injuries and poisoning. The average life expectancy of the population is 71.6 years and is slightly higher than in Ukraine. The security of the population of the region by individual and social conditions, especially by economic indicators, is low. There is a decrease in the number of general secondary education institutions in the region, but the increase in the number of preschool institutions Improvement in the region's communications corresponds to the level of improvement in Ukraine, and, in our opinion, indicates a sufficient level of quality of life for the population in this category. The average wage in the Rivne region is lower than the national average. The quality of life of the population of Rivne region is estimated as above average and the most effective directions of its growth are substantiated: the fight against poverty through expansion of employment and reduction of the unemployment rate; regulation of the minimum wage, increase of pensions; development and implementation of measures to stimulate the development of small and medium-sized businesses, etc. Scientific novelty. The geographical aspect of the level of population life satisfaction of the studied region is revealed. For the first time the category "life quality" was systematically analyzed by its structural elements on the example of Rivne region. Practical importance. This research results reveal the level of life satisfaction of the population of Rivne region in comparative-geographical aspect and measures to increase it. They can be used to analyze the life quality of the other Ukraine regions population. They can be applied in drawing up programs of regional socio-economic development.

Given the potential for commercial exploitation of E. spectabile and aiming to curb predatory extractivism, the development of researches that guide its cultivation becomes relevant. This study aims to evaluate the effects of different substrates and seed positions at sowing on the germination and vigor of seeds from two geographical regions. The experiment design was completely randomized in a 2 x 4 x 2 factorial design (seeds from two geographic regions: i.e., Serra Talhada-PE and Graça-CE, both in Brazil; four substrates: blotting paper, sand, vermiculite and coconut fiber: and two sowing positions: over and in between the substrate). Sowing on blotting paper, sand, vermiculite and coconut fiber, in general, was favorable to germination and germination speed index for seeds from both geographic regions. Sowing in between coconut fiber was detrimental to germination and root development regardless of the seed geographical region. However, sowing in between and over coconut fiber and in between sand favored shoot growth. The best combinations for dry matter production were sowing over paper and sand. The substrates blotting paper, sand, coconut fiber and vermiculite are favorable to E. spectabile seed germination regardless of geographic regions, provided that the sowing is made over the substrates.

Abstract The aims of this research are to understand the development disparities, income distribution, human development, and the geographical difficulties in North-East, Center-South East, and West-South of Aceh Regions. The methods of analysis used are Williamson Index, Lorentz Curve, Gini Coefficient, Human Development Index (IPM), and Geographical Difficulties Index (IKG). The results show that based on Williamson Index, the developments in the North-East, Center-South East Regions of Aceh are still low. Based on the Lorenz Curve, West-South Region is far from equality line, it is followed by Center-South East and North-East Regions. Thus, it can be stated that West-South and Center-South East Regions experience relatively greater income disparities compared to North-East Region. Based on Human Development Index Calculation, West-South of Aceh is the region that has lowest Human Development Index, then it followed by Center-South East and North-East Regions of Aceh. Based on Geographical Difficulties Index, West-South Region of Aceh has the highest Geographical Difficulties Index compared to Center-South East and North-East Regions of Aceh viewed from the existence of basic services, infrastructure condition, and transportation.The government must strive to reduce development disparities in the North-East, Central-Southeast and West-South regions of Aceh so that there will be no provincial division and conflict between regions.

The features of the development of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) in regions that are significantly remote geographically and differ sharply in environmental and climatic conditions – Central Asia (Republic of Tajikistan, Sughd region; Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhambyl region) and the Central Black Earth region of the Russian Federation (Voronezh region). A comparative analysis of the development of C. tinctorius individuals in different geographical conditions showed that the ontomorphogenesis of the species was not very variable and proceeded in the same way in all these regions. However, a significant difference was found in the timing of the onset of phenophases, which is due to different timing of crop sowing and climatic features of the regions. A soil-ecological assessment of the growing conditions of safflower was carried out, the physicochemical properties and agrochemical characteristics of soils in experimental plots in various geographical zones were identified. The absence of a toxic allelopathic effect of the crop on the soils of agrocenoses in central Russia was shown. The potential introduction of the crop into the conditions of the Central Chernobyl Region of the Russian Federation has been established, since when grown in the Voronezh region, the complete ontogenesis of the species is occurred and the formation of full-fledged achenes took place. It has been established that C. tinctorius has a wide adaptive mechanism, which is based on the characteristics of the biology and ecology of the species.

Therefore, in this research, I refer to the history of these areas in terms of the national identity of those areas, with a precise indication of the geographical borders of Southern Kurdistan, and a definition of the national, ethnic and religious minorities in it. The research consists of six axes: In it, the Kurdish regions located in the areas of Mosul, Kirkuk, Diyala and Wasit were precisely identified and defined. We also referred to scientific sources and academic research, and mentioned writers and travelers interested in Kurdish studies, official documents related to the region, and documents that confirm the truth and entitlement of nationalism, geography and national identity. and geography of that region. Quadracaea mediterranea was collected during our continuing mycological survey of saprobic conidial fungi on decaying leaf litter of Quercus floribunda from the Ramgarh forest, Nainital, Uttarakhand, India. Detailed taxonomic information on Q. mediterranea includes morphological description, geographical distribution, comments, illustrations, and a comparison with allied taxa. This finding extends the geographic distribution of the species, previously recorded only in China, Italy, and Brazil.

Анотація:
The potential of natural resources in a region that is well managed and provides economic benefits to the local communities deserves protection for geographical indications. It is part of intellectual property rights as it relates to the protection of the identities of producer regions that are affected by both human and natural factors. The provision of protection for geographical indications, that adopts a constitutive registration system, put emphasis on the potentials of the certain region because the distinctiveness of a product from the region cannot be found in the others. The protection of geographical indications granted for an unlimited period of time protects not only the producer regions but also the reputation, quality, as well as characteristics of their products. To provide protection of geographical indications means also to protect the consumer rights; consumers that purchase or use certain products are supplied with correct information on the production sites, quality and being protected from the potentially harmful effect of the products.

<p>The article describes the main stages of development of geographical knowledge about nature, economy and population in theKemerovoregion. The stage of initial accumulation of geographical knowledge and the development of the mineral riches of the plains and mountain areas of the region was defined. The article features the contribution of the explorers to the study of the physiographic features of the Kuznetsk region, the contribution of scientific research in academic and interdisciplinary expeditions to expand the knowledge about the territory. It defines the role of geologists in the discovery, exploration and in the study of the region and the Kuznetsk coal basin. The author has selected special Lutugin and Soviet stages in the development of geological knowledge, including that about the Kuznetsk coal basin (Kuzbass). The article specifies the contribution of scientists to the study of the relief, climate and inland waters, including the contribution of botanists, zoologists, soil scientists of theTomskandNovosibirskuniversities in the study of soil-vegetation cover of theKemerovoregion. The emphasis is on physical-geographical and economic-geographical research, the role of the Department of geography, Geology and geography teaching methodology in these studies. In conclusion, a retrospective of the main stages of geographical research of the territory of theKemerovoregion and their event content was constructed.</p>

AnnotIntroduction. The study was carried out with the use of geographic approaches. It provides an integral characteristic and assessment of the population morbidity in Kazakhstan, including ecologically determined pathologies. Material and methods. The basis of the work is the data of medical and demographical statistics of the adult and children population for the period from 2000 to 2016 in the context of administrative regions and districts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Mathematical-cartographic modeling of population health indices was carried out using geo-information technologies and evaluation mapping. Results. Medico-geographical zoning of the territory of Kazakhstan on the basis of calculated integral indices allowed to distinguish five groups of regions by incidence rates: from very high (Mangistau, Kyzylorda, the East Kazakhstan region) to very low (the Atyrau region). Spatial and temporal analysis of the morbidity rate showed that Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan regions are distinguished in terms of the prevalence of ecologically caused pathologies and districts with unfavorable situations. Respiratory diseases (40-60%) are the most common environmental pathologies in Kazakhstan among all age groups. For the last 15 years most of the respiratory diseases are registered in the Pavlodar region and they show a positive trend in both adults and children. Conclusion. The medico-ecological situation in the regions of Kazakhstan has regional differences, but in most cases, there is a tendency to an increase in overall morbidity, prevalence of ecologically caused pathologies and especially respiratory diseases, which can serve as an index of the environment state. Further studies should be directed to in-depth investigations in ecologically unfavorable regions and the development of the Medical-Geographical Atlas of the Republic of Kazakhstan.aciya

Digital map services and geographical information search services are widely available on the Internet. Users can retrieve appropriate geographical information from digital maps using certain map operations and category selection methods. However, it can be difficult for users to find specific geographical information when a map region contains a large amount of information. Furthermore, a user’s interest in a region or a category may change. Therefore, the authors propose a method for recommending geographical information to users based on their map operation or category selection history. The authors developed a model to determine a user’s interests and used it to recommend suitable regions and categories.

The article looks at the geographical distribution of toponymic endings with the aim of discovering significant patterns. The corpus includes ca. 9,000 oikonyms, of which 24% are those that have the analysed endings. Endings are recognized if names have at least 3 syllables or have 2 syllables and the Q3 degree of quantity; in these cases the existence of a toponymic suffix is most likely. In the case of endings that have multiple origins there are seemingly no specific distribution patterns, with the exception of some borrowed endings (e.g. -na or -va). In the case of typical toponymic suffixes -la, -ste and -vere each of these are often concentrated into certain areas based on which the whole are of Estonia might be divided into regions: -vere-region (northern Tartumaa and northern Viljandimaa), -ste-region (Võrumaa, southern Tartumaa, southern Viljandimaa and southern Pärnumaa), -la-region (Virumaa, Järvamaa, Harjumaa) and a mixed region (Läänemaa, northern Pärnumaa). The island of Saaremaa is dominated by -la-endings, Hiiumaa is either a mixed region or a -ste-region

Aim. The purpose of this article is to assess the formation of the labor potential of the Kiev region from the standpoint of social geography. Methodology The expediency of using a set of research methods with an emphasis on complementary and cross-checking methods — factor analysis, cluster analysis, index method, is substantiated. Moreover, both for calculations in order to determine the Kiev region among other regions and internally regional differences, it is proposed to analyze indicator indicators in the following sequence: normalization of indicator indicators (taking into account their stimulating and destimulating effect), calculation of aggregated indices - aggregation of indicator indicators into indices by aspects of labor potential; calculation of block indices of educational, cultural, medical, environmental, demographic and economic subsystems; calculation of the integral index of the development of labor potential. Findings. The approaches to the socio-geographical assessment of the formation of the labor potential of the Kiev region are determined. The center-peripheral patterns of development of the labor potential of the districts of the Kiev region are determined. The existence of several distinct averaged center-peripheral patterns in the Kiev region has been discovered: with increasing order of neighborhood neighborhoods, labor potential grows; the value of the cultural development index, comes the value of the demographic, economic index, the value of the factor weights of the economic and cultural factor among the regions decreases. The spatial model of the “center-periphery” is determined by the level of development of labor potential in the Kiev region, the center-peripheral patterns of its formation and use are confirmed and discovered. Scientific novelty. Scientific novelty lies in the development of a spatial model of "center-periphery" in terms of the development of labor potential among the districts of the Kiev region. Practical significance. This study is the basis for a comprehensive socio-geographical analysis of the development of the labor potential of the region. Its results can become the basis for establishing promising areas of growth in the labor potential of the Kiev region; delimitation of the spatial model of the “center-periphery” of the development of the labor potential of the region is aimed at taking into account its features when making managerial decisions. The features of the formation and use of labor potential in Ukraine and the corresponding influence of socio-geographical factors are disclosed. According to the integral rank of assessing the formation and use of labor potential, five groups of regions have been identified. This brief description of the distinguished groups of regions by their role in shaping the labor potential of their regional centers, in accordance with the level of economic diversification and the impact on the socio-cultural development of the region and the country as a whole, defined in the gender of socio-geographical factors of labor potential development.

Introduction. The article presents the results of research of the geographical vocabulary of the Shilan dialect, one of the Erzya-Mordovian dialects of the Samara region, common among Erzya population of Shilan village in Krasnoyarsk region. The dialect belongs to rare Mordovian dialects of the Samara Volga region that were formed in the region since the middle of the XIX century, and therefore its research is of extra interest. Materials and Methods. The research methods are determined by the purpose and objectives of the study. The analysis of the geographical vocabulary of the Shilan dialect is carried out with the involvement of relevant items made in other Mordovian dialects of Samara region, adjacent territories of neighboring regions, as well as other territories of settlement of the Mordovians. Data on geographical vocabulary of the dialect introduced into research for the first time. The main source materials for the article is based on field studies in Silane village during the field seasons in 2017 and 2020, as well as in other Erzya-Mordovian and Moksha-Mordovian villages of Samara region and adjacent territories in 2015 – 2020. Results and Discussion. The study showed that the geographical vocabulary of the Shilan dialect of the Erzya-Mordovian language is significantly different from the corresponding lexical clusters in other dialects of the Mordovian region, which can be explained by natural geographical conditions surrounding Shilan village and the original composition of this lexical cluster of Erzya immigrants who founded this village. Conclusion. The analysis of the geographical vocabulary of the Shilan dialect allowed, on the one hand, to identify specific features of this cluster that distinguish it from the corresponding materials of other Mordovian dialects of the region, and, on the other hand, to identify common isoglosses between it and a number of the Erzya-Mordovian dialects of the Samara Volga region.
