Na segunda parte é feita uma análise das séries temporais de precipitação de chuvas (séries de chuva). As séries de chuvas foram obtidas junto ao Departamento de Águas e Energia Elétrica (DAEE) do estado de São Paulo e são constituídas de medições diárias, em milímetros, da quantidade de chuva em postos meteorológicos distribuídos em todo o estado. Algumas séries apresentam ausências de medições que acabam transformando uma série longa em duas ou mais séries menores. Em função disso foi estabelecido um procedimento que permite aproveitar essas séries com ausências (dias sem medições) para estimar o expoente de Hurst. A partir de considerações climáticas o estado foi dividido em nove regiões. Foram selecionadas séries com 20 anos de registros de chuva (de janeiro de 1978 a dezembro de 1997). Dos valores de H encontrados foi feita uma média para cada região climática do estado de São Paulo.
This work can be separated into two parts. In the first part is briefly presented the fractal nature of the rain precipitation series, the estimate of the Hurst exponent (H), the wavelet transform, its use in the estimate of H and the evidence, by tests with generated series of fractional brownian motion with H established a priori, that we have a good method to estimate H with wavelet transform. In the second part an analysis of rain precipitation series is made. The rain series had been obtained from the Departmento de Águas e Energia Elétrica (DAEE) of the state of São Paulo and contain daily measurements, in milimeters, of the amount of rain in distributed meteorological stations all over the state. Some series present absences of measurements, transforming a long series into two or more lesser series. A procedure was established, allowing to use these series with absences (days with no measurements) to estimate the Hurst exponent. From climatic considerations the state was divided into nine regions. The regions with rain data over a period of 20 years have been selected as rain series (from january 1978 to december 1997). From the several values of H, we computed an averaged value of H for each climatic regions of the state of São Paulo.

Повний текст джерелаThe different steps for obtaining industrial images are presented. Usual light conditions are discussed. We deal with subpixel measurement technics, wich improve the measurement accuracy by further processing image data. After a brief overview of the usual auto-focusing technics, new procedures using orthogonal transforms are presented and their ability to characterize various morphologies are studied. By comparing the two proposed transformations and the structure of their computing algorithms, provisional conclusions are proposed. The implementation of autofocusing camera technics in metrology systems is dealt with in the third chapter, and the set of the parameters determining the accuracy measurement is studied. In the last chapter, an automatic vision system for the automatic measurement in Crack Opening Displacement (COD) test is proposed. The system uses the ability of the orthogonal transforms studied to recognize a texture. Hardware and software devices are presented ; the different steps of the processing procedure are exposed

Повний текст джерелаThis manuscript deals with the implementation of a reconfigurable Fast Fourier Transform architecture. The architecture is suitable for almost all the digital communication systems h using OFDM modulation. The first chapter starts with a reminder of the OFDM signal theories for which an Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform (lOFT) is required on the transmitter side as well as a Direct Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) on the receiver side. This operation involves one of the greatest complexities of hardware implementation so that its optimization has a great importance. This chapter also presents the multiple ways in which the DFT and its inverse can be used in advanced OFDM modulations and demodulations. The goal of the second chapter is to explore the different ways of implementing the FFT. First, some general principles of the digital architectures are presented as well as the reconfiguration possibilities. Then, several FFT architectures are compared and classified depending on the way the operation is computed and whether the architecture is reconfigurable or not. The third chapter presents two algorithms of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) which are computable via the proposed architecture. After a quick presentation and classification of the main different FFT algorithms, both the Radix algorithm and the Winograd Fourier Transform Algorithm (WFTA) are studied in depth. This study leads to the possibility of a clever combination of these two algorithms allowing then to compute a larger group of FFT sizes. Chapter four presents the proposed architecture, which is the major contribution of this PhD thesis. This architecture involves three main elements: the reconfigurable butterfly, the twiddle factors computation and data storage in memories. Two configurations of the architecture are proposed. The first allows high throughput for the results of the operation while the second one is optimized in resources use and power consumption. A control architecture for the computation units is also presented. The following chapter introduces the issue of number representations in hardware descriptions. The two most important data representation forms (fixed point and floating point) are presented. As the fixed-point representation is retained in order to reduce the hardware complexity, a study presents the impact of the imperfect representation of real values. Results are given in order to choose the best compromises between the computing precision and the resources needs. These results are given in terms of Signal to Quantization Noise Ratio for several given data widths. The last chapter provides results of the implementation of the architecture for the Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting (DTIB) application. Lt first evokes the main features of the three DTIB standards that are considered (DVB, DMB and ISDB). Then the implementations parameters are presented for the two configurations presented in the fourth chapter. Results are then given in terms of resources use for many data widths as well as for time performances. A general conclusion sums up all the results and lists all the advantages and drawbacks of the proposed architecture. Some perspectives are given in order to lead to many optimizations as well as an implementation on an Application Specifie lntegrated Circuit (ASIC) target

Повний текст джерелаENGLISH ABSTRACT: The pricing of plain vanilla options, including early exercise options, such as Bermudan and American options, forms the basis for the calibration of financial models. As such, it is important to be able to price these options quickly and accurately. Empirical studies suggest that asset dynamics have jump components which can be modelled by exponential Lévy processes. As such models often have characteristic functions available in closed form, it is possible to use Fourier transform methods, and particularly, the Fast Fourier Transform, to price such options efficiently. In this dissertation we investigate and implement four such methods, dubbed the Carr- Madan method, the convolution method, the COS method and the Fourier spacetime stepping method. We begin by pricing European options using these Fourier methods in the Black-Scholes, Variance Gamma and Normal Inverse Gaussian models. Thereafter, we investigate the pricing of Bermudan and American options in the Black-Scholes and Variance Gamma models. Throughout, we compare the four Fourier pricing methods for accuracy and computational efficiency.
AFRIKAANSE OPSOMMING: Die prysbepaling van gewone vanilla opsies, insluitende opsies wat vroeg uitgeoefen kan word, soos Bermuda-en Amerikaanse opsies, is grondliggend vir die kalibrering van finansiële modelle. Dit is daarom belangrik dat die pryse van sulke opsies vinnig en akkuraat bepaal kan word. Empiriese studies toon aan dat batebewegings sprongkomponente besit, wat gemodelleer kan word met behulp van exponensiëele Lévyprosesse. Aangesien hierdie modelle dikwels karakteristieke funksies het wat beskikbaar is in geslote vorm, is dit moontlik om Fourier-transform metodes, en in besonders die vinnige Fourier-transform, te gebruik om opsiepryse doeltreffend te bepaal. In hierdie proefskrif ondersoek en implementeer ons vier sulke metodes, genaamd die Carr-Madan metode, die konvolusiemetode, die COS-metode en die Fourier ruimte-tydstap metode. Ons begin deur die pryse van Europese opsies in die Black-Scholes, Gammavariansie (Engels: Variance gamma) en Normaal Invers Gauss (Engels: Normal Inverse Gaussian)-modelle te bepaal met behulp van die vier Fourier-metodes. Daarna ondersoek ons die prysbepaling van Bermuda-en Amerikaanse opsies in die Black-Scholes en Gammavariansiemodelle. Повний текст джерелаThe goal of the thesis is the analysis of audio signals using sinusoidal modeling. The first part of the thesis deals with the estimation of the sinusoidal parameters, and in particular with the methods based on the Fourier Transform. The advantages of this family of methods are a low algorithmic complexity and an ease of use. A complete state of the art of these methods is presented. Then, we describe the new estimators which have been developped during the thesis. In particular, we present two original methods allowing to estimate all the parameters of a sinusoid modulated both in amplitude and frequency. Their performances are shown to be better than the only quivalent method in the litterature, namely the quadratically interpolated fast Fourier transform (QIFFT). Audio indexing is a large domain whose purpose is to answer the needs for content access in the audio documents. In the second part of the thesis, we applied the sinusoidal modeling to two audio indexing tasks for which this modeling is particularly appropriate: pitch estimation and sound object detection. The two algorithms developped involve similar ideas: a matching of the sinusoidal peaks estimated in the audio stream with those of the reference sound object, and a likelihood measure of the matching
