Повний текст джерелаMore people are starting to use different mobile operating systems in their mobile phones and apps that only work on the specific platform. This leads to app-developers must develop each app on each specific platform which is expensive. The most common operating systems today are Android and iOS, but during fall of 2012 Windows Phone 8 was released, which means yet another platform to consider. In cooperation with the company Sogeti Jönköping this study focuses on finding a method that makes it possible to migrate applications between platforms and Windows Phone 8. The study also includes identifying the pros and cons of different app-types through a literature review and interviews, as well as testing whether the migration methods work through a practical implementation. The results have shown that there are two different solutions to migration which is PhoneGap and Xamarin. Through implementation tests Xamarin was the most suitable for future app-projects.

Повний текст джерелаDetta examensarbete har utförts på konsultbolaget Sweco Position i Jönköping. Arbetet har varit uppdelat i två större delar: teoretiskt och praktiskt arbete. Teoretiska delen omfattade en utredning kring möjligheterna att implementera ett geografiskt informationssystem (GIS) för administration av brunnar med hjälp av Bing Maps tillsammans med Windows 8 och Windows Phone 8. Praktiska arbetet omfattade skapandet av en prototyp till Windows Phone 8 och Windows 8. Studenterna går bland annat genom Model-View-ViewModel-mönstret på en teoretisk nivå, beskriver skillnaderna mellan Windows 8 Pro och Windows RT. Ett utredande om för och nackdelar vid utveckling av webbaserade applikationer och native-applikationer. Resultatet av examensarbetet kommer innefatta en GIS-lösningen utvecklad i C# i samverkan med XAML och omfatta lokalt sparad data med WMS-tjänst baserad interaktion till Windows 8 och Windows Phone 8.

Повний текст джерелаPassword-based logon schemes have many security weaknesses. Smart card and biometric based authentication solutions are available as a replacement for standard password-based schemes for security sensitive environments. However, the cost of deployment and maintenance of these systems is quite high. On the other hand, mobile network operators have a huge base of deployed smart cards that can be reused to provide authentication in other areas significantly reducing costs.
This master’s thesis presents a study of how the workstation identity management can be made more secure and user-friendly by using a mobile phone in the Windows workstation logon process. Two workstation logon schemes that utilize both the mobile phone and the UICC inside of the phone are proposed as a result of this study.
The first scheme emulates a smart card reader and a smart card in order to interoperate with the Windows smart card framework to provide PKI-based logon. The mobile phone with the UICC card emulates a smart card that communicates with the emulated smart card reader via protected Bluetooth channel.
The proposed scheme reuses the Windows smart card infrastructure as much as possible, both in terms of software and hardware. Therefore, a seamless integration with Active Directory and Window server is achieved. This scheme can work with any authentication scheme used with real smart cards. It can be used not only for the logon but also for all other functions typically done with smart cards (e.g. signing of documents, e-mails).
In the second scheme, the mobile phone with the UICC serves as a token for generating OTP values based on a shared secret key and the time parameter.
In order to design Windows logon architectures based on mobile phones, a study of relevant technologies, components, and their security aspects has been conducted. Existing phone-based authentication schemes have been thoroughly studied both from the usability and from the security points of view. This has been done to understand possible alternatives for different aspects of the architectures that were designed.
The thesis analyzed how new authentication schemes in general and those that work with mobile phones in particular could be integrated into the Windows logon system. A conclusion is made that it is impossible to make a generic architecture that would easily support all existing and possible future mobile phone authentication schemes for the Windows logon. Windows is already a highly customizable environment and can support virtually any authentication scheme for the logon, though a considerable amount of modifications may be required to implement a particular scheme.

Повний текст джерелаThe aim of this work is to analyse the decisions of mobile application security and to provide recommendations and methods according to the results of the analysis of adaptation of mobile applications security solutions to operating systems. The paper aims to provide the ways how to improve mobile application security for users and companies. In the first part the threats for mobile application security in various operating systems are reviewed and analysed. The paper discusses and analyses the weak points of Android, iOS, and Windows Phone and compares their weakest points among the three. It also gives the analysis of the testing tools used for mobile means as well as the examination of their safety in the levels of a net, a tool and applications. The second part presents the analysis of possibilities and ways of mobile applications testing, as well as the classified tools created for the protection from mobile applications threats. The project part of the paper summarises and formulates mobile application safety recommendations according to the main operating systems, and gives these recommendations to users and creators of mobile applications.

Growing numbers of users and improved hardware makes more and more companies to expand their activity in this market. One of the biggest mistakes, that is very hard to solve, is badly chosen technologies in a beginning stage of the projects. The main objective of this project is to compare three of the most popular operating systems Android, iOS and Windows Phone software development kits and to determinate their advantages and disadvantages. Analysis is made based on operating system architecture, tools, compatibility with hardware, debugging, security, graphical user interface, multilanguage support, animation, sounds, video, HTML preview, interaction with maps and user location, sensors, networks, background processes, data persistence and integration with another software. In this research was identified that Android has best interfaces to create background processes and share data between programs. iOS has best tools and components for graphical user interface and Windows Phone has best framework to work with multimedia, maps and user location services.

The method that is being used tocollect data is within the scope of the research paradigm Design Science. The development process of theprototype has been documented in journals which later were to be analyzed asqualitative data. Two interviews have been done with other Xamarin developers in orderto get a deeper understanding of the subject. This study produced a flowchart that is tobe used when deciding about a migration of an existing mobile application aswell asguidelines for the migration itself. The flowchart and guidelines are based on analyzingthe data from our journals aswell as our interviews with other developers.

The agency has realized a need of access to a several features of their inmate register systems from mobiles and handsets within different areas in their organization. The safety with the mobility and application technology is a comprehensive issue in this case. Therefore, a risk analysis about mobile application technology was initiated. We took the probation services into account as a concrete scenario where mobile application technology could be used. In order to select an appropriate and adequate risk analysis method, we compared a number of methods. It turned out that the method CORAS was the most suitable method. When we completed the risk analysis with CORAS, we tried to match the treatments against different mobile platforms properties to see how they can pursue the treatments. Mobile platforms we examined were Android, Windows Phone 8 and iOS. The result of the risk analysis and the comparison of mobile platforms can the agency use as a basis for further decisions.

Повний текст джерелаMålet med denna undersökning har varit att undersöka tre vanliga mobiltelefonplattformar avseende deras nätverkstrafikfunktioner. Plattformarna somundersöks är Android, iOS 5 och Windows Phone. Efter avslutad undersökningimplementerades en prototypapplikation för att demonstrera dessa funktioner påden plattform som anses bäst lämpad. Applikationen ska fungera som entelefonväxel och utöver det ska applikationen även skicka användarstatistik tillen webbserver, ta emot kontakter från en webbserver, samt husera en specielladministreringsdel där användarstatistiken ska presenteras. I undersökningenhar de aktuella mobiltelefonplattformarna och deras respektive API:er granskatsoch jämförts. Därefter har dessa tekniker tillämpats för att skapa enprototypapplikation som bygger på mobilplattformen Android. Valet föll påAndroid eftersom det är den mobilplattform som har stöd för flest av deefterfrågade funktionerna. Verktygen Eclipse IDE, Android SDK, en JerseyRESTful Service, MySQL-databas och en SQLite-databas har använts.Applikationen har testats med hjälp av mätningar på applikationenskommunikationsfunktioner. Ett experttest har genomförts för att utvärderahuruvida applikationen uppfyllde kraven som ställts eller ej. Undersökningenhar visat att Android är den mobilplattform som har stöd för flest av deefterfrågade nätverkstrafikfunktionerna. Mätningarna på applikationen har visatatt det till största delen beror på nätverksuppkoppling hur snabbt enkommunikationsfunktion exekveras. Expertestet har visat att applikationenuppfyller kraven som ställts på den, med kommentarer på några delar därförbättringar kan göras.

Повний текст джерелаMobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are very common at companies nowadays, where they’re not just used for communication but also for doing work. Not all tools are available for such devices though, or at least not in a suitable form that makes it practical to use them. Semko Instrument Register (SIR) is a such a system, developed by Triona, in the form of a website that is not adapted for mobile devices, which is used for downloading calibration certificates for measuring instruments among other things. The goal of this project is to come up with a method of making the system available to as many mobile devices as possible in the simplest way possible. Different methods (websites adapted for mobile devices, native applications and cross-platform applications) are compared and analysed with a focus on possibilities for sharing code on multiple platforms and whether they’re able to fulfill what is required of the application. The design chapter presents such a method which is then evaluated on different aspects, such as the amount of code that can be shared between platforms. The conclusion is that the best way of making a system available on multiple platforms is through websites adapted for mobile devices, but because of this particular system’s requirements a cross-platform solution called Ionic was used instead, as modern mobile browsers are not yet able to fulfill what was required of the application.

Повний текст джерелаIn this study, we will examine the popular framework Xamarin. Xamarin is a cross-platform framework that uses the C# programming language to develop the same application for iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The study's main purpose is to conduct an initial exploratory study in which we try to identify a number of distin-guishing aspects between native- and Xamarin development and its products. In order to make this comparison we developed three applications: one native android application, one Windows Phone application in Xamarin, and one Android application in Xamarin. With the help of a literature study and the development of the aforementioned applications, the distinctive aspects have been observed and identified.The result of our study shows that the native android application takes up less space in the phone compared to the Xamarin android application, whereas the Xamarin Windows Phone app takes 1/6 less space in the phone compared to the Xamarin android application. Further tests also show that the Xamarin android ap¬p-lication takes longer time to start-up than with the native Android and Xamarin Winows Phone applications.

Повний текст джерелаRapporten presenterar skapandet av en produktkonfigurator och flera förslag på hur den kan förbättras. Uppdraget gavs av System Andersson till två studenter på Jönköpings Tekniska Högskola som genomförde detta som sitt examensarbete.
Rapporten diskuterar möjliga lösningar på en produktkonfigurator och visar ett resultat som utgår från dessa lösningar. Produktkonfiguratorn i rapporten består av två delar.
Dels konfigurationsdelen som hjälper användaren att skapa nya produkter utifrån valda artiklar. Artiklarna sorteras automatiskt av produktkonfiguratorn så att endast kompatibla artiklar kan sättas ihop. Detta sker med ett ”drag and drop” gränssnitt.
Dessutom innehåller produktkonfiguratorn en kompatibilitetsdel, vars uppgift är att underlätta vid definierandet av kompatibilitet mellan artiklar. Detta kan göras löpande under tiden en produkt konfigureras om så önskas. Användaren kan välja på två eller flera artiklar som ska vara kompatibla med varandra, eller hela kategorier.
Sist i rapporten diskuteras de val som gjorts under arbetets gång och möjliga förbättringar som kan göras på produktkonfiguratorn.
