Повний текст джерелаThis thesis, rooted in urban anthropology and urban practices, focuses particularly on the process democratic participation in urban development projects. Indeed, urban development leads to significant consequences throughout the city's territory, causing tensions and repercussions both on the environment and on local social dynamics. The public school, as an architectural element and public facility dedicated to cultural education and the transmission of scientifically validated knowledge, is inevitably affected by these projects, themselves influenced by contemporary urban planning norms. My professional and personal experiences, rooted in the school context, enabled me to engage in urban renewal projects from 2010 to 2015. I conducted an ethnographic investigation into specific participation scenarios in the neighborhoods of Armação in Florianópolis, Brazil, and Carnot-Parmentier in Saint-Fons, in the metropolis of Lyon, and carried out an analysis of territorial development projects. In a reflexive approach and within a research-action perspective, I engaged in pedagogical initiatives that, through a multi-situated comparative study, enabled me to follow different actors in urban policy, residents, school professionals, and students. I analyzed institutional dynamics as well as the processes experienced by social actors involved in urban changes, while examining my own trajectory and commitment. Despite the emergence of democratic participation in our societies, I have observed that in the studied projects, this practice remains marginal. I have observed that this practice remains marginal in our societies, and that experiences lived, perceived, and conceived influenced by memory, by politico-administrative processes, as well as by sciences are scarcely considered in this participatory process. Participatory school experiences observed on the ground have been perceived as relational emancipatory practices, both individual and collective. Schools, influenced by epistemological and methodological elements, can become crucial local actors in the transgenerational construction of responses to challenges related to gentrification, the environment, development, as well as culture and urban social policies. However, educational and territorial public policies, influenced by political-administrative and scientific processes, appear to be very poorly connected. In this sense, considering the systemic aspect of participatory experience is of increasing importance for the sustainable development of cities and the promotion of the integral fulfillment of citizens

Повний текст джерелаMemorization relies on a dialogue between the hippocampus and the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC). This dialog takes place progressively after the encoding of an event. Given their connectivity, the thalamic nuclei named reuniens and rhomboid (ReRh) may modulate the functional loop between these two structures. Indeed, a lesion of these nuclei impairs the persistence of a spatial memory. The mechanisms underlying this process are still unknown. Therefore, we analyzed the molecular mechanisms underlying spatial memory consolidation within the hippocampus and the mPFC, and the consequences of a lesion of the ReRh nuclei. After a stereotaxic lesion of the ReRh nuclei, rats were subjected to three days of a spatial training in the Morris water maze. We then performed a RNA sequencing of the dorsal and ventral hippocampus (CA1 regions), RT-qPCR analysis of the mPCF, and a quantification of the expression of c-fos in these two structures. Results show that ReRh nuclei lesion impairs the transcriptional and translational mechanisms within the hippocampus and the mPFC as soon as after three days of a spatial learning. These alterations could lead to the retrieval deficit observed after a long post-acquisition delay

Повний текст джерелаWith a view towards eliminating the existing dichotomy between illness and health, the concept of health-within-illness appeared in nursing research on health in persons living with chronic disease. Presently, research on this phenomenon is mainly centred on the experience of wellness not revealing that of illness. At the same time, few studies have been aimed at understanding the coexistence of the experience of wellness and illness involved in the daily lives of persons with chronic disease. Furthermore, none have addressed a population living with systemic sclerosis. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to describe and understand the experience of systemic sclerosis as well as that of heath-within-illness in adults living with this chronic disease. The disciplinary perspective of the researcher, in this case, Watson’s human caring philosophy (1979, 1988, 2006, 2008), supported the research process. In accordance with this author, van Manen’s (1984, 1987, 2002) hermeneutic existential phenomenological method was chosen as the basis of the research process. Data was mainly collected from the experience of adult Quebeckers living with systemic sclerosis, through 34 in-depth interviews with 17 participants (14 women and three men). The results allowed the identification of four themes that describe, on the one hand, the essence of the experience of systemic sclerosis, that is: (a) endless suffering of a diseased body; (b) the inner and relational disharmony of the self; (c) the process of adjustment and (d) adjustment heuristics. On the other hand, the following two themes emerged showing the essence of the experience of health-within-illness: (a) empowerment of a new self and (b) harmony with life. The two essences were interrelated in order to develop a conceptualisation of the experience of health-within-illness in adult Quebeckers living with systemic sclerosis. Thus, it is conceived as a “dialectic in which the new self shifts his or her power to live in harmony with life and to adjust to endless suffering while being in a diseased body that experiences inner and relational disharmony.” The results of this study allow a better understanding of the suffering experienced by persons with systemic sclerosis as well as of the process and strategies conceived to adjust to this suffering. They also highlight the means used to exert a new power on their lives and live in harmony with every aspect of their existence. Finally, the dialectic of health-within-illness that emerged from this study underlines the dynamic, continuous, and subjective character of the integrative process involving the inseparable experiences of wellness and illness. This new conceptualisation of the experience of health-within-illness, that can contribute to a renewal of health care practice, also suggests a novel way of living with chronic disease, that of “being neither in health nor in illness”.
