Анотація:
The structures of the low-lying intrinsic states in 152 Eu and 154 Eu are calculated using a microscopic quasiparticle phonon model similar to that of Soloviev. Experimental data with specific emphasis on stripping and pick-up cross-sections on 153 Eu are in agreement with the calculations. Octupole correlations between these calculated intrinsic states are analyzed. The opposite parities and appropriate octupole correlations of several of the states provide a theoretical basis for the previous interpretation of parity doublets in 152 Eu and 154 Eu . The E1 enhancements of the ΔK=0 transitions in both nuclei are also discussed.

Анотація:
Partial dependence of photopeak data of ɣ-ray energies is considering apart of peak channels after subtracting background (including Compton distribution) and obtaining symmetric Gaussian distribution, then considering this part to obtain other total data of peak. This was investigated by using NaI(Tl) detector with Eu-152, Ra-226 and Cs-137 point sources. For the isolated peaks of Eu-152, Gaussian shape is obtained, and the areas between ±σ and ±0.5σ were determined and efficiency is obtained. The calculated transformation to total data of peaks gave excellent agreement with the ordinary case. The overlap between the two peaks at 609.3 (Ra-226) and 661.6 keV (Cs-137) is studied with using σ values from data when sources are separated, and counts in peaks centroids. The data of each peak is "restored" and compared with that when sources are separated and gave a 98% agreement. Also the overlap between the two peaks at 1120 and 1238 keV (Ra-226) is studied with adopting the σ values from the shape calibration curve of Eu-152 and centroid counts in the same way as for the Ra-226 and Cs-137 case. The resultant peaks areas are compared with those obtained from efficiency calibration curve of Eu-152. However results here are of lower agreement.

UJI BANDING ANTAR LAB0RATORIUM DALAM PENGUKURAN RADIOAKTIVITAS MENGGUNAKAN SPEKTROMETER GAMA. Laboratorium Uji Radioisotop dan Radiofarmaka (LUR2) adalah laboratorium uji milik Pusat Radioisotop dan Radiofarmaka BATAN yang telah memperoleh akreditasi ISO/JEC 17025 dari KAN (Komite Akreditasi Nasional). Sesuai aturan ISO/IEC tersebut, maka laboratorium secara berkala harus melakukan validasi metode dan salah satu caranya melalui uji banding antar laboratorium. Pada tahun 2012, LUR2 telah mengikuti uji banding antar laboratorium di BATAN yang dikoordinir PTKMR tentang pengukuran radioaktivitas menggunakan spektrometer gama. Sampel berupa radionuklida Eu-152. Uji Banding diikuti oleh 16 peserta yang berasal dari laboratorium di BATAN dan hasil pengukuran menunjukkan mayoritas laboratorium mempunyai penyimpangan <10% dibanding nilai acuan. Pada awalnya LUR2 melakukan pengukuran menggunakan perbandingan net area sampel dan sumber standar Eu-152. Hasil pengukuran ternyata selisih 5 kali lebih besar dari nilai acuan. Untuk pembanding maka dilakukan pengukuran ulang menggunakan sumber standar lain (kombinasi Ba-133, Co-60, dan Cs-137) ternyata hasil pengukuran mempunyai selisih mendekati nilai acuan. Untuk konfirmasi lebih lanjut, maka sumber standar Eu-152 diukur aktivitasnya menggunakan sumber standar lain (kombinasi Ba-133. Co-60, dan Cs-137) dan ternyata hasilnya 1/5 dari aktivitas yang tertera di sertifikat. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa sumber penyimpangan besar bukan pada alat melainkan karena radioaktivitas yang tertera di sertifikat sumber standar Eu· 152 tidak sesuai dengan radioaktivitas yang sebenarnya. Dari hasil kegiatan ini, disimpulkan bahwa uji banding antar laboratorium sangat penting karena dapat mengetahui dengan segera jika ada penyimpangan pada alat maupun sertifikat sumber standar.Kata Kunci: Uji banding, pengukuran radioaktivitas, sumber standar, spektrometer gama x-cooler

A obra é precedida por uma introdução do próprio Von Zuben, com 42 páginas (p. 9–51), que apresenta ainda um Post-scriptum de 10 páginas (p. 131–140), um glossário de duas páginas (141–142) e as notas do tradutor de 10 páginas (143–152).

Cases C-156/21 and C-152/21 established that the implementation of solidarity is based on mutual trust. This reference is of significant relevance given that trust is essential when risky decisions are made in troubled times. In this context, this article analyses whether mutual trust could be decisive to tackle unexpected challenges, such as the pandemic (or the war in Ukraine). With this goal in mind, the article dwells on the role of mutual trust in the EU. The article then examines the link between mutual trust and social solidarity in the program Next Generation EU. Finally, it inquires which kind of social solidarity might derive from mutual trust. The goal is to assess if mutual trust is a transformative principle that may trigger an impulse towards social solidarity within the EU.

PurposeThe article compares the effect of European Union (EU)-Russian sanctions imposed in 2014 with the influence of fluctuating oil prices on Danish trade.Design/methodology/approachIn this paper annual import and export trade data between Denmark and 152 countries from the period 2002–18 were computed in STATA/SE 16.1 using the Gravity model to evaluate the effect of economic sanctions and the price of oil.FindingsResults showed that the impact from the fall of oil price exceeded the negative effect from sanctions on Danish export. Additionally, the analyses suggest that the fall in oil price had a negative effect on Danish import. Even so, Danish import significantly increased due to growth in supplies of energy resources from Russia.Originality/valueThis study explains the overlapping effects of EU-Russian sanctions and fluctuating oil prices on Danish trade. This methodology can be expanded to encompass multiple countries using the two-sided Gravity model.

Standard reference materials of the composition and properties of substances and materials are used in both industrial and non-industrial sectors of society to ensure measurement uniformity and traceability in those types of measurements that cannot be provided using standards. During times of war and increased nuclear threat due to a full-scale invasion by an aggressor state, there is a need for heightened attention to the verification of ionizing radiation detection blocks, measurement channels of radiation monitoring systems, radiometers, and radiometric installations, as well as alpha, beta, and gamma radiation spectrometers. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate the method to evaluate the measurement uncertainty of reference materials (Europium-152 (Eu-152), Сaesium-137 (Cs-137), and Thorium-232 (Th-232)) when they are generated and calibrated according to the international regulations. The evaluation of the measurement uncertainty of a radioactive reference material with a natural half-life period is relevant and valid, considering its homogeneity properties and stability. To assess the properties, as well as the measurement uncertainty, one-variant variance analysis was performed.

Анотація:
In this paper, the ML-EM (Maximum Likelihood Fitting by Expectation Maximization) algorithm was used in deconvolution of continuum gamma ray for HPGe detector. A set of response functions was simulated by using MCNP4C2 code for gamma radiation emitted from point source located at 10.6cm from detector. The source energies varied from 50.1 keV to 1502.1 keV with 2.5 keV step were detected by the 8192 - channel spectrometer. The results of deconvolution for some gamma spectra of Co-60, CS-137, Eu-152 showed that the photopeak areas of the deconvoluted spectra were considerably raised in compare with ones of measured spectra in the same condition.

Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV) is classified into three subtypes: Far Eastern (TBEV-FE), European (TBEV-EU) and Siberian (TBEV-SIB). In Russia, these are also called genotypes 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Geographically, TBEV-EU dominates in Central and Northern Europe, but its representatives are also found to the east - along the southern part of the forest zone of extratropical Eurasia - up to Eastern Siberia and South Korea. However, the strains isolated outside Europe remain poorly investigated. In the proposed study, eight full genomes of the Siberian isolates of TBEV-EU were determined and 13 complete genomes were compared. The analysis of 152 full-genome TBEV sequences showed that the TBEV-EU has a higher degree of stability of the genome-coding region in the entire Eurasian area (3.1% of differences) compared to TBEV-FE (6.6%) and TBEV-SIB (7.8%). At the same time, the maximum differences are observed not between European and Siberian strains, as one could expect, but between the representatives from Europe - TBEV strains Mandl-2009 from Norway and Hypr from the Czech Republic. The studied strains from Siberia form the compact genetic cluster of 42 TBEV-EU strains and are divided into two subclusters - West Siberian and East Siberian variants. These variants differ in the combinations of amino acid substitutions in all proteins except NS2B. The West Siberian variant mostly circulates in the territory of Altai, and the closest relative of its representatives is Absettarov strain from the European part of Russia. The strains similar to the East Siberian variant of the European subtype were recorded in the Altai (strain 84.2, 2007) and in Belarus (N256, about 1940).

In this work the radioactive wastes in the Old RussianCemetery Al -Tuwaitha site were classified according to risks forworkers who are involved in the retrieval process. The exposureassessment results expressed as estimates of radionuclide intakes byinhalation and ingestion, exposure rates and duration for externalexposure pathways, and committed effective dose equivalents toindividuals from all relevant radionuclides and pathways. Resultsshowed the presence of natural radionuclides Ra-226, Th-234 and K-40, as well as the produced radionuclide Cs-137 and Eu-152 in thecemetery wells. The absorbed doses from the waste were classified totwo categories; exempt waste and low level waste according toabsorbed dose value. This studied site does not pose a radiologicalhazard for the workers.

Trong bài báo này, chương trình GEANT4 đã được sử dụng để mô phỏng đầu dò HPGe-PGNAA của Viện Nghiên cứu Hạt nhân (Đà Lạt) nhằm xác định hiệu suất ghi, hệ số hiệu chính trùng phùng thực, cũng như sự thay đổi của hiệu suất, hệ số hiệu chính trùng phùng tổng theo khoảng cách giữa nguồn và đầu dò đối với nguồn Eu-152 trong vùng năng lượng bức xạ gamma từ 121.8 keV đến 1408 keV. Ngoài ra, chương trình GEANT4 còn được dùng để xác định hệ số tự hấp thụ gamma trong các mẫu nhôm, sắt, đồng, polyethylene với năng lượng gamma bằng 81 keV, 661.6 keV, 1332.5 keV.

Salmonella is mostly noted as a food-borne pathogen, but contact with chelonians has also been reported as a source of infection. Moreover, high levels of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) have been reported in Salmonella isolated from wild and captive reptiles. The aim of this study was to assess the occurrence of Salmonella AMR carriage by chelonians admitted to two zoological institutions in Spain, characterizing the isolates to assess the Salmonella AMR epidemiology in wildlife. To this end, 152 chelonians from nine species were sampled upon their arrival at the zoological nuclei. Salmonella identification was based on ISO 6579-1:2017 (Annex D), isolates were serotyped and their AMR analysed according to the EU Decision 2013/652. Moreover, the genetic relationship of the isolates was assessed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE). Results showed 19% (29/152) of the chelonians positive to Salmonella, all of them tortoises. For all isolates, 69% (20/29) were resistant and 34% (10/29) multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains. PFGE clustered isolates according to the serovar, confirming a low genetic diversity. In conclusion, this study shows a high presence of MDR Salmonella strains in tortoises at their entry into zoological nuclei. This condition highlights the need to establish Salmonella detection protocols for the entry of animals into these centres.

Après avoir montré l’évolution de la formation professionnelle au secondaire au Québec, cet article décrit l’accès à la carrière enseignante dans ce secteur d’étude. Les enseignants de cette filière vivent une inévitable situation de transition entre leur métier, où ils étaient souvent des experts, et le métier d’enseignant, pour lequel ils n’ont pas eu de formation, mais qu’ils doivent tout de même pratiquer au quotidien. Les données d’une enquête menée auprès de 152 enseignants permettent de décrire l’entrée dans la carrière enseignante, la place de l’enseignement dans leur trajectoire professionnelle, les débuts dans l’enseignement et leur avenir dans ce domaine. Les résultats montrent que le passage du métier à l’enseignement est un phénomène complexe, enchevêtrement de choix individuels et de possibilités objectives, permettant la bifurcation de la trajectoire professionnelle.

The study demonstrates the effect of sorption properties of fractured host rocks from the Yeniseysky site (Nizhne-Kansky rock massif, Krasnoyarsk region) on the migration of dissolved radioactive components (137Cs, 90Sr, 79Se, 99Tc, 152(154)Eu, 239(240)Pu) in the deep geological conditions of a high-level radioactive waste repository. Estimates of radionuclide distribution coefficients between the aqueous solution and fractured rocks obtained from sorption experiments. The influence of various petrographic types and fracture-filling substances on the retardation of radioactive components has been investigated. Based on the results of sorption experiments, we concluded that the type and attributes of rock discontinuities, as well as the mineral composition of the material in fractures, are crucial for the immobilization of radionuclides during their migration through a geological environment.

STUDI INVENTORI RADIOAKTIF DALAM REAKTOR DI PUSAT REKAYASA DEKOMISIONING FUGEN. Studi tentang inventori radioaktif telah dilakukan di Pusat Rekayasa Dekomisioning FUGEN. Reaktor FUGEN memiliki struktur tabung bertekanan yang rumit, berbeda dari jenis reaktor berpendingin air ringan pada umumnya. Perilaku neutron di dalam reaktor sangat kompleks, oleh karena itu perlu penentuan densitas fluks neutron secara akurat sebelum menganalisis besaran nilai aktivasi neutron. Densitas fluks neutron ditentukan dengan kode kalkulasi DOT3.5 dan selanjutnya diverifikasi melalui pengukuran sampel di reaktor, yaitu dengan foil aktivasi dan detektor neutron. Densitas fluks neutron yang telah terevaluasi kemudian digunakan untuk menganalisis nilai aktivasi neutron, yang juga memerlukan data komposisi material dan data sejarah operasi reaktor. Perhitungan nilai aktivasi neutron ini menggunakan kode kalkulasi ORIGEN79. Hasil dari perhitungan ini harus diverifikasi dengan pengukuran aktivitas pada daerah yang spesifik di dalam reaktor. Verifikasi untuk inventori radioaktif dilakukan dengan cara mambagi reaktor menjadi tiga bagian , yaitu bagian dalam teras reaktor, bagian perisai, dan bagian di luar perisai. Namun, dalam studi ini lebih ditekankan pada bagian perisai. Bagian ini terdiri dari perisai beton biologis dan perisai besi-air. Inventori radioaktif utama yang ada di dalam perisai beton biologis adalah Co-60, Eu-152 dan Eu-154, sedangkan di dalam perisai besi-air adalah Fe-55, Ni-63, dan Co- 60.

The high temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) has potential utilization due to its featured characteristics such as inherent safety and wide diversity of utilization. One distinct difference between HTGR and traditional pressurized water reactor (PWR) is the large inventory of graphite in the core acting as reflector, moderator, or structure materials. Some radionuclides will be generated in graphite during the period of irradiation, which play significant roles in reactor safety, environmental release, waste disposal, and so forth. Based on the actual operation of the 10 MW pebble bed high temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTR-10) in Tsinghua University, China, an experimental study on source term analysis of the irradiated graphite has been done. An irradiated graphite sphere was randomly collected from the core of HTR-10 as sample in this study. This paper focuses on the analytical procedure and the establishment of the analytical methodology, including the sample collection, graphite sample preparation, and analytical parameters. The results reveal that the Co-60, Cs-137, Eu-152, and Eu-154 are the major γ contributors, while H-3 and C-14 are the dominating β emitting nuclides in postirradiation graphite material of HTR-10. The distribution profiles of the above four nuclides are also presented.

Obtaining the in-depth information of radioactive contaminants is crucial for determining the most cost-effective decommissioning strategy. The main limitations of a burial depth analysis lie in the assumptions that foreknowledge of buried radioisotopes present at the site is always available and that only a single radioisotope is present. We present an advanced depth estimation method using Bayesian inference, which does not rely on those assumptions. Thus, we identified low-level radioactive contaminants buried in a substance and then estimated their depths and activities. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, several spectra were obtained using a 3 × 3 inch hand-held NaI (Tl) detector exposed to Cs-137, Co-60, Na-22, Am-241, Eu-152, and Eu-154 sources (less than 1μCi) that were buried in a sandbox at depths of up to 15 cm. The experimental results showed that this method is capable of correctly detecting not only a single but also multiple radioisotopes that are buried in sand. Furthermore, it can provide a good approximation of the burial depth and activity of the identified sources in terms of the mean and 95% credible interval in a single measurement. Lastly, we demonstrate that the proposed technique is rarely susceptible to short acquisition time and gain-shift effects.

Aflatoxins (AF) are naturally occurring mycotoxins, produced by many species of Aspergillus. Among aflatoxins, Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) is one of the most frequent and dangerous for human health. The acceptable maximum level of AFM1 in milk according to EU regulation is 50 ppt, equivalent to 152 pM, and 25 ppt, equivalent to 76 pM, for adults and infants, respectively. Here, we study a photonic biosensor based on Si 3 N 4 asymmetric Mach–Zehnder Interferometers (aMZI) functionalized with Fab’ for AFM1 detection in milk samples (eluates). The minimum concentration of AFM1 detected by our aMZI sensors is 48 pM (16.8 pg/mL) in purified and concentrated milk samples. Moreover, the real-time detection of the ligand-analyte binding enables the study of the kinetics of the reaction. We measured the kinetic rate constants of the Fab’-AFM1 interaction.

Анотація:
The full energy peak efficiency (ɛ) relation of HpGe detector is determined and compared with the "spectrum shape" relation of natural background (BG) for the (121.8-1408) keV energy range. A one liter Marinelli beaker soil standard containing the Eu-152 material is used in calibration and measurement. A MATLAB fitting program were used obtain the efficiency relation from the experimental values, and to obtain the BG "spectrum shape" relation from the count rates at the corresponding energy values used. The ɛ / BG factor values were 1.154 at the 121.8keV and increase with energy till reaching a maximum value of 4.358 at about 778keV energy and then decrease. These values may be used to extract efficiency from the BG values at the specified measurement conditions. The obtained results may participate in extending our understanding of the standardization concept in radiation measurements.

Radioactivity was measured for 170 cow's milk samples in Salah-Din governorate. Samples were measured by a gamma spectrometry system, using a high purity germanium (HPGe) detector. The detector was shielded by 10 cm all sides with cadmium copper in the inner sides. The selected characteristic gamma peaks for the detection of different ware 1460kev for K-40. The energy calibration was performed using a set of standard gamma ray calibration sources Eu-152. The results of show the presence of in all samples of milk. The maximum radioactivity was seen in Baiji city was (424 Bq/kg), while the minimum was seen in Abayaji (256 Bq/kg) and the average of all samples was (341.3 Bq/kg) and the annual effective dose was 0.302`mSv/y.That considered as the annual limit of rang of public recommended by the FAO.

Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent disease, and estrogen receptor 2 (ESR2) plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of ovarian endometriosis by promoting cell invasion. Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) plays suppressive roles in several types of tumors. However, the relationship between YAP1 and ESR2 is not fully understood. The aim of this study was to investigate the regulatory mechanism of YAP1 in terms of ESR2 and YAP1 regulation of endometriotic stromal cell (ECSC) invasion in ovarian endometriosis. Our results demonstrated that YAP1 mRNA and protein levels in eutopic endometrium (EU) tissues were higher than those in paired ectopic endometrium (EC) tissues. ECSCs transfected with siYAP1 exhibited a significant increase in both ESR2 mRNA levels and protein expression. Simultaneously, YAP1 overexpression in ECSCs yielded the opposite results. Co-IP assays demonstrated YAP1-NuRD complex formation by YAP1, CHD4 and MTA1 in ECSCs. YAP1 bound to two sites, (-539, -533) and (-158, -152), upstream of the ESR2 transcription initiation site. YAP1 binding to the two sites of the ESR2 promoter in ECSCs was significantly lower than that in eutopic endometrial stromal cells (EUSCs) from EU tissues. ECSCs transfected with siYAP1 exhibited increased invasion activity, while ECSCs transfected with siESR2 showed inhibition of invasion. However, transfection with siYAP1 and siESR2 together decreased the number of invading cells compared with transfection with siYAP1 alone. Therefore, we conclude that decreased levels of YAP1 in ovarian endometriomas enhance ESR2 expression via formation of a YAP1-NuRD complex, which further binds to the ESR2 promoters. Furthermore, YAP1 inhibits ECSCs invasion.

SUMMARYWe investigated factors associated with persistence of differentSalmonellaserovars in buildings housing laying hens in Great Britain using survival analysis. A total of 264 incidents ofSalmonelladetection occurring between July 1998 and August 2007 in 152 houses were recorded. For incidents involvingSalmonellaEnteritidis (SE), both the rodent score of the house and the type of house were positively associated with persistence. For non-SE serovars, only the type of house was associated with persistence. Persistence of SE in the houses was longest (>15 months) in step-cage and cage-scraper houses when high levels of rodents were present, and lowest in non-cage and cage-belt houses. We estimated that 42% (95% CI 23·3–63·1) of SE incidents may be cleared during the lay period, and this was related to elimination of rodents from the houses. From January 2009, EU legislation will ban the sale of fresh eggs from SE-positive andS. Typhimurium-positive flocks over their remaining lifespan. If infection is eliminated from such flocks, they would cease to represent a public health risk.

Agricultural land accounts for approximately 40% of the total Natura 2000 (N2K) network area. Therefore, many habitats and species protected under the Habitats and Birds Directives are dependent on or linked to agricultural practices. This implies that sustaining agriculture of a high natural value is a priority in achieving the aim of halting the loss of biodiversity in the European Union (EU). However, extensive agriculture is unprofitable in many regions of the EU, which results in it being either abandoned or intensified in the absence of financial support. Hence, organic farming (OF), which is most often supported with public funds, can be an alternative to conventional agriculture in N2K areas. This article is an empirical study of the differences in perceiving the possibilities of farm functioning in a protected area (PA) by organic and conventional farm owners. It was examined whether this could be the actual path to improving farmers’ living conditions in the context of legal protection of naturally valuable areas. The study material comprises the results of a survey conducted at the turn of 2016 and 2017, which addressed a total of 292 farmers, including 152 organic farm operators and 140 conventional farm operators, whose areas under cultivation were located within the N2K “Dolina Biebrzy” (“Biebrza Valley”) PLH200008 area in Poland. For the analysis of the data collected using structured questionnaires, a variety of statistical methods and techniques were applied. The study results indicated that in terms of satisfaction with the economic performance of their farms, there is no major difference between the opinions expressed by organic and conventional farm owners. However, organic farming could be an alternative livelihood strategy from the environmental policy perspective.

The centralization of the prudential banking supervision within the EU has been organized via the Single Supervisory Mechanism, through a mechanism existing of the European Central Bank (ECB) and the national supervisors, and embedded in the composite legal order within the EU. The said mechanism required some innovative solutions to ensure effective supervision, including the obligation for the ECB, laid down in Article 4(3) of the SSM Regulation, to apply national law transposing the relevant directives. As a result of this novelty under Union law, the CJEU is facing actions brought before it against ECB decisions based on national law. Therefore, in its review national law is to be assessed as a question of law. The central question in this research is how effective judicial protection can be ensured by the CJEU in such case, considering the limitations to the CJEU's jurisdiction with respect to national law. The article starts with discussing the recent cases in which the CJEU was asked to review ECB decisions based on national law (Joined Cases C-152/18 P and C-153/18 P Crédit mutuel Arkéa v ECB & Joined Cases T-133/16 to T-136/16 Caisse régionale de crédit agricole mutuel Alpes Provence v ECB), and the legal questions that remain unanswered in this respect. It then explores the CJEU's approach vis-à-vis national law in other types of legal proceedings. The lessons learned from the latter analysis is subsequently discussed, as well as new ideas to ensure a more effective judicial protection of national law, on which ECB decisions are based, before the CJEU.

The South China Block had experienced a significant tectonic transition during the Mesozoic in response to the subduction of the Paleo- and the Pacific Ocean. Large-scale granitic intrusions with massive mineralization are widespread in South China, and their tectonic settings are not defined. The Xitian intrusion is ideal for probing the geodynamic setting and mineralization in South China because they comprise an abundance of microgranular enclaves (MEs) and diverse types of granite associated with mineralization. Age determined by zircon U-Pb dating suggests that the MEs and their host granites are coeval within error, of ca. 152 Ma. The MEs have a similar initial Hf-O isotopic composition as host granites, and the rapid cooling mineral textures indicate that they are autoliths. Geochemical data show that the host granites are high-K, calc-alkaline, and transitional from metaluminous to peraluminous, slightly enriched in light rare earth elements (LREEs) relative to heavy rare earth elements (HREEs), with obvious negative Eu anomalies, belonging to I-type. The Nb/Ta and Zr/Hf ratios indicate the volatile penetrates the magmatic-forming process, and the fluid with abundant volatile could extract metal element effectively from the mantle.

Abstract Introduction Hepatic veno-occlusive disease, also called sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (VOD/SOS), is an unpredictable, potentially fatal complication of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and high-dose chemotherapy. The VOD/SOS pathologic cascade is initiated by endothelial and hepatocyte damage. VOD/SOS is usually diagnosed using Baltimore criteria (≤21 days post transplant: bilirubin >2 mg/dL, plus 2 or more of hepatomegaly, ascites, and weight gain ≥5%) or modified Seattle criteria (≤20 days post transplant: 2 or more of bilirubin >2 mg/dL, hepatomegaly or right upper quadrant pain, and weight gain >2%). Severe VOD/SOS, usually characterized by multi-organ dysfunction (ie, pulmonary and/or renal dysfunction), may develop in a substantial number of high-risk patients and may be associated with >80% mortality. To understand the diagnostic patterns for VOD/SOS in the United States (US) and European Union (EU), a quantitative online survey was conducted among HSCT specialists. Methods Participating hematology-oncology specialists for pediatric and adult patients had ≥2 years direct involvement in performing HSCT, spent ≥25% of their time in direct patient care, and managed ≥10 HSCT patients (≥10 allogeneic) in the past year. Their facilities were accredited and performed ≥80 adult HSCT procedures in the US (≥50 in the EU) or ≥20 pediatric HSCT procedures (US or EU). In this survey, VOD/SOS severity was rated as early (milder) or severe (with multi-organ dysfunction). On average, the online survey took 30 to 40 minutes to complete. Results Surveys were completed by 100 US physicians (70 adult, 30 pediatric) and 153 EU physicians (122 adult, 31 pediatric; from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom). Each physician directly managed an average of 179 (US) or 95 (EU) HSCT patients in the past year. In adult patients, the median percentages of patients treated for severe/early VOD/SOS were 7%/7% in the US and 3%/6% in the EU; in pediatric patients, the median percentages were 9%/12% in the US and 5%/10% in the EU. The most commonly used VOD/SOS diagnostic signs and symptoms (Table) were weight gain and bilirubin level. The median level of weight gain to trigger follow-up action (action not specified but could include further diagnostic testing) was 10% in the US and 5% in the EU, for both adult and pediatric patients; the Baltimore and Seattle criteria specify a weight gain of 5% and 2%, respectively. US physicians were less likely than EU physicians to take action at weight gain of ≤5% (Figure): about half as likely for adults (29% vs 56%) and about a fifth as likely for pediatric patients (14% vs 67%). In addition, at ≤5% weight gain, US physicians of pediatric patients were about twice as likely to take action as US physicians of adult patients. The median bilirubin levels at which US physicians initiated action were 3 mg/dL in adults and 4 mg/dL in pediatric patients, compared with 2 mg/dL for EU physicians in both adult and pediatric patients (Figure); the Baltimore and modified Seattle criteria specify a bilirubin level of 2 mg/dL. Conclusions The survey results show that a substantial proportion of US HSCT physicians take follow-up action at weight gain or bilirubin thresholds higher than those in the Baltimore or modified Seattle criteria. Treatment patterns in the EU, particularly among pediatric physicians, appear to be more closely aligned with the diagnostic criteria. The established criteria have limitations; neither set takes into account late onset of VOD/SOS or presentation of edema and weight gain in the absence of other signs and symptoms. As discussed in a recent publication (Mohty M et al. BMT. 2015;50[6]:781-789), elevated bilirubin may be absent in VOD/SOS developing late after HSCT and in children, which prompted the authors to suggest the need for a criteria update. Gamma spectroscopy is an analytic technique that identifies isotopes through gamma rays. Currently, gamma spectroscopy is widely used in several science fields, for instance, the study of the hydrodynamics of soils and other applications. Considering the development of computers, it has been developed Monte-Carlo simulation packages, in order to estimate the response of gamma spectroscopy detectors. This work aims to develop a GEANT4 application to estimate the full energy peak efficiency for a HPGe detector and determine the deviation with experimental data. It was carried out measurements of the next radioactive sources, Am-241, Eu-152, Cs-137, and Co-60. These measurements were made at different distances, they were at 0, 5, 10, 20, and 25 cm from the detector’s cover layer. Meanwhile, the simulation was carried out through user action classes to extract energy deposited in the sensitive detector. It was determined full energy peak efficiency of experimental data, through these results, it was estimated a detection factor that measures the deviation between experimental and simulated data. A reason for the deviation was that the simulation did not include the electronic chain of acquisition. Finally, it was suggested that future works should develop a more accurate simulation for multi-emitters isotopes.

As is well-known, porous nanomaterials have attracted increasing attention recently, and graphene-related materials (such as porous graphene) have been studied both experimentally and theoretically. Almost all researches are focused on nanoelectronics, supercapacitors, multifunctional membrances, bio-applications or others. Consequently, in order to understand the differences between porous graphene and normal graphene at adsorption and catalytic property, in this experiment, with the removal of metal ion (152 Eu(III) ) and organic matter (gallic acid) and reduction of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) by NaBH 4 as model reactions, a systematic investigation into the adsorptive performance as well as catalytic activity of graphene with or without electron beam irradiation exposure had been carried out. As the results showed, compared with the reduction of pristine graphene oxidized (R-GO), the reduction of graphene oxidized with electron beam irradiation exposure (100 MGy, about 2 h, radiation graphene oxide (R-RGO)) had many irregular defects caused by lack of atoms; the adsorptive performance of the R-RGO increased for metals but decreased for organic matter. However, the adsorption rate of the R-RGO was lower for metals, but higher for organic matter than that of the R-GO. In addition, the results also showed that the R-RGO had a better catalytic capacity than the R-GO.
